In 2019, I shattered glass ceilings by opening New York's first all-inclusive, woman-owned boxing club. My passion for empowering people through boxing didn't stop there. In 2020, I launched a virtual club & app, UnderWraps NYC, bringing my training to the world. Jukebox wasn't just successful, it was a powerhouse recognized as Brooklyn's top boxing club in 2021 and #1 for instruction in NYC by 2022. My dedication even earned me recognition as a top entrepreneur in 2023 by Marquis Whose Who in America, where I was added to the microfilm for leaders in the USA who made the biggest positive impact on society through their craft and leadership. But for me, the biggest reward is empowering people. I'm not just a boxing coach, I'm a coach for confidence, stress relief, and a healthier you. You'll leave feeling stronger, both physically and mentally. Learn more at https://www.underwrapsnyc.com

How do you overcome fear on the path to your dreams? It's a great question. Fear sure does get in the way, doesn't it? In this episode, I discuss how somatic work (getting back into my body) has massively impacted my ability to move with fear in a way that feels more safe. I include a short exercise that could be supportive for you.I do want to be clear: For those of us who associate as perfectionists, pleasers, and overachievers, getting back into our bodies can trigger fear. You really need to titrate into somatic practices. You will mentally reject being in your body. It's overwhelming, scary, and can feel "bad." I recommend doing this safely with a coach or therapist who approaches their work in a trauma-informed way. You can begin to do this work very lightly on your own, but please titrate and take it slow. Follow, Review, and Share Untethered with Jen Liss. If you enjoyed this episode, share it with a friend. There was a lot of hurtful self talk and never feeling good enough while preparing. In an “aha!” moment, Meredith realized that all days are meant to be equal. She built a system to stop beating herself up. The Ch'eghwetsen Point System is a habit building system that is gentle. It's not meant to be self-critical. Instead, it builds sustaining behaviors that make you feel healthy and happy.
A gas leak explosion in a tiny house derailed the original schedule to get this podcast episode posted, but it's finally here!
Meredith Noble, co-founder of Learn Grant Writing, shares what happened when she was in a tiny house that had a gas leak explosion. In this podcast episode, Meredith covers:
Hey everyone! Welcome to the Soul Aligned Women in Business Podcast! My name is Susie Trigg Tucker, and I am your host! I am a speaker, a writer, and business mindset coach for soulful entrepreneurs and ambitious professionals. I am on a mission to empower women in business to flip the outdated script that you have to DO it all to HAVE it all. You'll often hear me citing my favorite mantra, DO LESS. BE MORE YOU. When you trust and love who you are, and show up authentically and unapologetically as her as you market and sell, your success is an inevitable byproduct! I wholeheartedly believe your business is so much bigger than a career- it's an expander, intended to help you take up the massive amount of space that was created for YOU to occupy with your unique gifts and attributes. Every week we will meet here to chat about all things related to growing your business and wealth, while evolving into the highest version of yourself, and living your most joyful, purpose driven life. When you join me here, you will learn both tangible selling and marketing tips, as well as spiritual and energetic practices to help you thrive in both your business and life. My promise to you is that I will challenge you to examine the status quo stories that have held you back, and enlarge your belief system, so that you can embody, experience, and express your life as a demonstration of your highest self, rather than a denial of her. You will walk away from each episode inspired, soul aligned, and ready to impact on the world as the best version of you. Be sure to subscribe to this podcast so you don't miss a single episode! Are you ready? Let's do it! Links and Resources
Dr. Christie Edwards, Alex's mom, is living and breathing the Unicorn Lifestyle.
Karisa Coe, member of The Grant Writing Unicorn Collective, conducts an informational interview with Meredith. The timing is divine as The Collective is in the midst of an informational interview challenge. Karisa is a recent college graduate from Texas A&M University who is working towards becoming a freelance grant writing consultant. She reached out to Meredith for an informational interview to learn more about the why and how behind entrepreneurship. Curious how you could get into grant writing and build a career in it? Here is a free training on how to do that without volunteering or having prior experience: https://www.learngrantwriting.org/webinar-videos/discover-grant-writingMeredith is known for saying, “My forte is turning ideas into reality”. How does she not get overloaded and lost? In the ideation phase of anything, Meredith recommends not limiting yourself to thinking within boundaries and not thinking too technically about cost and timeline. Creating an environment for creative brainstorming is key. Then, ask: “Who am I serving?” Project management comes into play here to break your vision down into actionable steps.Alex is an integrator while Meredith is a visionary and they feel that there is an opportunity for people that identify strongly with operations and project management to become integrators. Meredith and Alex are in the process of examining whether integrators can be trained up from scratch or not. They're conducting several informational interviews with female CEOs.For Meredith and Learn Grant Writing, the values of the business are the values of herself. These values include taking responsibility, leadership, and working hard, but recognizing that today is all we have. Since Alex has become part of the business, celebrating wins has replaced working hard. Values are what you fall back on when you're reflecting on how to handle a situation. A question can be used as a decision making framework and then the values help nudge that to the finish line. For those just starting a career, Meredith strongly suggests doing informational interviews. These interviews provide insights, little bits of wisdom, and connection. Informational interviews allow you to authentically and genuinely build your network with people you want in it. Several qualities are helpful to become a successful entrepreneur. These include problem-solving, failing fast, having a growth mindset, and staying focused. With Karisa's final question, Meredith reveals her dream of owning a property in Spokane, Washington. Two books that have been helpful for her in developing and sharing her ideas are “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and “The Mom Test” by Rob Fitzpatrick. In this episode, we sit with Meredith, Alex, Jared (Alex's husband), and Tobias. We celebrate the work wedding of Meredith and Alex as Alex legally becomes part owner of Learn Grant Writing. The four gather at an AirBnB for a weekend away to honor the occasion. As is tradition for Meredith and Alex, tarot cards are drawn for each of the four individuals. The cards pulled by each person pertain to their personal lives and inspire thoughtful reflection. “Anything that manifests in your business is tied to your personal life.”Jared reflects on his skepticism of Alex joining the business. While originally cautious, Jared has since gladly been proven wrong. Back when Alex first joined, the primary focus of the business was grant writing consulting.Curious how you could get into grant writing and build a career in it? Here is a free training on how to do that without volunteering or having prior experience: https://www.learngrantwriting.org/webinar-videos/discover-grant-writingThe team transitions to reading Promises inspired by the following prompt: “What Does Our Truest & Greatest Business Partnership Look Like?”. Alex and Meredith aim to uphold a business partnership that is vibrant, safe, and balanced. They promise honesty and clear communication as they continue to challenge one another to be their best selves. The promises inspire another major question: should Alex and Meredith get matching tattoos? DM us on Instagram if you think so: https://www.instagram.com/learngrantwriting/Meredith and Alex explain the paperwork to be signed that legally mark Alex as part owner of the Limited Liability Company (LLC). The pair are Amending and Restating the Operating Agreement now that Alex is part owner. Meredith serves as Chairwoman, President of the Board, and Treasurer under this updated agreement while Alex serves as Vice President and Secretary. Finally, Meredith and Alex reflect on the weekend away. Alex and Meredith both appreciate how they were able to be comfortable and allow everyone to love them for them. All in all, it wasn't as sparkly as anticipated, but it was exactly what was needed. As Meredith and Alex consciously make the decision to be in this business together, they resolve to continue following their intuition closely. There will be a vibrant celebration with cake and food with everyone they love. To be determined on when that happens, but the celebration of Alex sharing ownership of the business is certainly coming. The Luminaries Edition of the Balance Boldly Podcast is a dedication to outstanding WOMEN who inspire, influence, and ignite a better tomorrow with the courageous work they implement today! In this episode of the Luminaries edition seating with Naketa Ren Thigpen, let's welcome Lekeshia Angelique, she is an Army Veteran, Mom, Coach, Taco Aficionado, and creator of safe spaces to educate folks. The key to change is knowledge and empathy. And she has deepened into the mission to empower not only black women but every human to have a powerful voice and an equitable seat at any table they desire to be seated at. There's a quote that you wrote or were inspired by on Facebook, that sat with me so deeply “The best leadership starts with the best conversations” [Naketa Thigpen 2:58]What I found in my own journey to leadership was that people just want it to be heard. And that's what made me a lot different was that I listened and then took action instead of taking action without listening. [Lekeshia Angelique 4:41] More about Lekeshia AngeliqueMy unique educational background has also led me (unknowingly) to be in the position I am in today, owning my own business doing exactly what I love. I completed a year under the mentorship of the Diversity and Inclusion Executive at Colgate, where I gained valuable lessons and practical, hands-on experience in a large corporate setting.Contact: Lekeshia AngeliqueWebsite: www.lekeshiaangelique.com Social Media: LinkedIn: /in/lekeshiaangeliqueFacebook: /lekeshiamoore81 If you are willing and ready, let's shake the shame and spread healing & hope to women ready to get more of what they want. In this episode of the Balance Boldly Podcast seating with Naketa Ren Thigpen let's welcome Jen O'Donnell, she's a business and mindset coach for team leaders in network marketing and women entrepreneurs that are scaling their businesses, right? Trying to avoid all the mistakes and all the noise that is happening in network marketing, which I know has its own caveats because there is a lot of companies that don't think network marketers actually make money and Jen is proof, living, walking, breathing, vacationing, every month proof that you can in fact do that. What you will learn· The importance of mindset over skills· You can gain momentum but if it is no supported with the right mindset it won't last.· Have you ever felt like going backward and that nothing works?· Did you know that your mind really does control whether you're successful or not?· You will learn that what you value is how you show up.More about Jen O'DonnellAfter being in the industry for many years & sitting at the feet with some of the industry's pioneers, she learned the importance of mindset over skills. She watched many people go through skills training & a little mindset work to gaining momentum & then going back because nothing in their mind, self-image, or longer-term habits had changed. She watched leaders fall away as quickly as they came, not because they did not know what to do, or their why wasn't strong enough, but because they didn't know how to maintain a strong mindset.Contact: Jen O'Donnell Group for Leaders & Team in Network Marketing/Direct Sales- https://www.facebook.com/groups/elevateleadership2612/My personal Page-https://www.facebook.com/jen.odonnell.5If you are willing and ready, let's shake the shame and spread healing & hope to women ready to get more of what they want. In this episode of the Balance Boldly Podcast seating with Naketa Ren Thigpen let's welcome Jeanie & Ross Coomber, they are amazing human beings, the absolute definition of a power couple as I have defined it. Power couples, although they can be celebrities and high profile, that is not the core characteristic that I define them by. I describe a power couple as two people with strong what I call IPA that's being influential in their chosen industry or expertise, their philanthropic, not just financially but energetically, they're not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive in. And let's put this in the parentheses. The final part of that IPA is they have to be strong advocates for causes that impact disproportionately affected groups of people. That's super important because power couples give back. And they're not just giving from little extras, they're giving from a space of sacrifice and time, energy, and resources, which is super important. They also love each other. They are in it to win with their forever love. They believe not only in the potential of themselves, but the potential that they have together when they unite as a power couple. What you will learnThat working as a team not only in business but also in your relationship matters.Communication and being honest with each other take your relationship to the next level.Finance is one of the number one reasons marriage never makes it through.Making time for intimacy and being aware of each other needs.Intimacy is also those little moments of taking care of each other not only physically but emotionally.Recreational intimacy is another huge part of intimacy.Going to a therapist if needed can save your marriage. This and more on this amazing power couple conversation. If you are willing and ready, let's shake the shame and spread healing & hope to women ready to get more of what they want. Hello and welcome to the Inspiring Women in Business podcast. My name is Ruth Gilbey, and I'm a business and marketing coach. I'm on a mission to inspire women to start and play bigger in business. I've started this podcast because when I first went all in and left the corporate world to be a freelancer, I was grateful for any work that came my way. I was a new Mum of twins on maternity leave in a recession, Googling jobs that could be done from home and around my family. I remember that low point when someone suggested a job in Sainsbury's, no disrespect to anyone who works in a supermarket, but my last role was a senior operations manager, managing large teams and big budgets. I'd completely overlooked the 20 years of experience I had running projects and growing businesses. I had vital business experience in accounts, sales, project management, marketing, customer service, and managing teams. However, I disregarded this experience and thought all my skills were irrelevant or out of date. I lost confidence, dumbed down my skills and never even considered being a business owner. I thought this was what other people did. I then got the online courses bug, upskilled in anything and everything to do with digital marketing and reinvented myself as a digital marketer. I defined myself as the last course I did. I always thought I need “just one more course” before I took action. And even though I embrace lifelong learning, I hadn't done vital work on working out what I wanted, as I'd never permitted myself to have the business I wanted. I had no idea what mindset, imposter syndrome or limiting beliefs meant as it had been 20 years since I'd challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone. In 2017, I finally started listening to that voice that had been telling me for a long time that I wasn't doing what I loved and wasn't fulfilling my true potential. It took a critical illness to give me that wake-up call. I don't want the same to happen to you. You can expect practical advice, inspiring stories and a lot of aha moments as we uncover and kick to the curb all the obstacles you have been putting in your way.
Welcome to our first ever episode of the Women in Business Podcast, we are super excited to kick this off with our very own president Sri Narayanan. Join our host Riya Malhotra to get to know about Sri's path to success and get more insight into how she came up with this podcast and what she hopes to achieve from it.

Dr. Cortney is on a mission to change the world – one woman, one mother, one daughter and one legacy at a time. But her path to popularity, power, and prosperity has required her to navigate numerous potholes. In 1993, six months after graduating from high school, she put dreams of attending college at Texas A&M on hold and instead became a single teenage mom. Watching her friends leave for college, she was instead forced onto Medicaid, food stamps and double-shifts as a pregnant waitress. Despite those immense obstacles, she launched a successful and transcendent business career. Through a combination of passion and persistence, Dr. Cortney earned her Master's degree from Southern Illinois University and founded KidsCare Home Health. In 2005, Dr. Cortney suffered a pulmonary embolism and in 2012 endured a stroke that required 7-hour brain surgery. Despite seemingly insurmountable health odds, she quickly rebounded, earning her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University. She is currently the CEO and Chairman of the Board for KidsCare, a multi-million dollar enterprise providing speech, physical, occupational, and nursing services to over 2,500 children with special needs from Texas to Colorado. She has also authored Unlimited: Conquering the Myth of the Glass Ceiling and the best-selling book, The 10 Dos and Don'ts for Business Leadership: Lessons to Lead Effectively. When not getting lost or making a stop at Whataburger for her beloved Diet Coke, Dr. Cortney resides near Dallas with her husband, two children, two dogs, and a rescue cat. What you will learn in this episode: How Dr. Cortney began facing difficulties at a young age, and how she overcame those challenges to get her doctoral degree and become a thriving entrepreneur Why Dr. Cortney decided to leave a job where she was under-appreciated and instead built her own company Why the many challenges Dr. Cortney faced as a young woman served to strengthen her resolve and altered the trajectory of her life Why Dr. Cortney strongly believes in empowering other women to succeed, and how she conducted her research for her book Unlimited: Conquering the Myth of the Glass Ceiling What four challenges most women face that make it difficult to achieve the top levels of leadership in their careers Why a lack of self-confidence is one of the biggest challenges women in the business world face, and why too often women pull each other down rather than lift each other up What steps Dr. Cortney takes to help women better develop a sense of self-confidence, and why confidence is a choice How Dr. Cortney helps women entrepreneurs bring their business ideas and entrepreneurial vision to life Why Dr. Cortney found herself in a dark place of “now what?” after she achieved her doctoral degree, founded her company and wrote her first book, and how she worked her way back out What advice Dr. Cortney would offer to anyone needing to build up their own confidence and make progress toward their goals Resources: Email: cortney@cortneybaker.com Website: https://cortneybaker.com From Side Hustle to CEO course: www.fromsidehustletoceo.com Women in Business Podcast: https://cortneybaker.com/podcast/ Twitter: @cortneyabaker Facebook:
