The Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina have a long tradition of eerie folklore, including ghost towns, haunted locations, strange paranormal phenomena, and of course, Bigfoot sightings. This week I'll be looking at some Bigfoot encounters in Swain County, which holds more of the Great Smokey Mountains State Park than any other county. A woman and her husband spot Bigfoot on a road along the Little Tennessee River; vacationers spend a restless night in their cabin haunted by howls and screams; Sasquatch footprints are found in deep snow on the Appalachian Trail by a hiker; and a backpacker finds a strange footprint by a creek in Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Is Bigfoot one of the spooky mysteries lurking in the mountains of the Tarheel State?Chapters:0:00 - The Mysterious Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina1:53 - Bigfoot Sighting on Needmore Road13:57 - Vacationers near Bryson City hear scary vocalizations20:27 - Hiker finds long trail of footprints in the snow near the the Nantahala Outdoor Center25:46 - Backpacker finds primate footprint near remote creek31:27 - Not many sightings, but some strange encounters#bigfoot #northcarolina #crytpozoologyLinks!Follow us on Social media!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oddanduntold/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oddanduntoldWebsite: https://www.oddanduntold.comEmail me! : jason@oddanduntold.comOdd & Untold Merch!: https://oddanduntold-shop.fourthwall.com/Sasquatch Sightings from This Summer: https://youtu.be/qV6mLAkCfF8?si=fEKCq7M7H4usZNaqBigfoot Sightings in Sweden and Other Parts of Scandinavia: https://youtu.be/9HyX_5YAaU0?si=UjhP13UP3ShmTI0kBFRO Sightings for Swain County: https://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_county_reports.asp?state=nc&county=SwainCheck out Riversend, the band behind "Moonlight," our awesome theme music!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/1yIwfeu2cH1kDZaMYxKOUe?si=NIUijnmsQe6LNWOsfZ2jPwRiversend Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RiversendbandRiversend Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/riversendband/

The lyrics aim at the feeling of hidden mechanisms: funds moving quietly, decisions made far from the people affected, and the public left arguing about smoke while power works in silence. “Moonlight” is the perfect word—everything happens after dark, then gets explained away in the morning. #BlackBudget #Moonlight #Kinte Tracklist 1. Send us Fan MailIt's the night of a blue moon. Following a hot and busy sunny day the canal settles down into a contented stillness. It's a perfect night to join and to sit back, let the quietness wash over us, to relax and to let our minds play with some big ideas. Journal entry: 23rd May, Sunday“Voices lift across the water No words, just sound A copy of Baisao in my hand Lingering over phrases and lines In the soft evening sun. I too have my cup of tea beside me Pine wind among the reeds Carp twist in crystal light Swallows dip low to drink.”Episode Information:In this episode I reflect on Jeff Van Booven's reflections following the previous episode on time. With special thanks to our lock-wheelersfor supporting this podcast. What if Norwegian fighter jets spotted a massive silvery disc crashed in the remote Arctic ice of Spitsbergen? What if it contained revolutionary anti-gravity technology, exotic alloys unknown to Earth science, and markings that sparked Cold War panic? This is the bizarre, shadowy, and endlessly debated tale of the 1952 Spitsbergen UFO incident — one of the earliest and most influential “crashed saucer” stories of the UFO era.In this episode of My Dark Path, host MF Thomas explores the intriguing story behind the Spitsbergen reports — from the sensational German newspaper claims of a spinning disc recovered by Norwegian forces, to descriptions of advanced propulsion systems, possible Soviet or extraterrestrial origins, the rapid spread through global media, and the growing questions about whether any of it was real… or an elaborate hoax born in the paranoia of the early Cold War.**Timestamps:** 0:00 – The 1952 Spitsbergen UFO Crash Report 4:05 – Welcome to My Dark Path 7:10 – The Early 1950s UFO Craze and Cold War Tensions 12:55 – Norwegian Jets Discover the Crashed Disc 18:40 – Exotic Technology Claims: Anti-Gravity, Unknown Alloys, and Mysterious Markings 24:15 – Military Recovery, Investigations, and International Intrigue 29:50 – How the Story Spread and Evolved 35:10 – Unraveling the Hoax: Origins in the German Press 40:05 – Cold War Disinformation, Propaganda, and the Power of Belief 43:35 – Final Thoughts: What the Spitsbergen Hoax Reveals About UFO History If you love weird history, UFO deep-dives, Cold War mysteries, and stories that sound too crazy to be true, this episode is for you.

James Laxton, ASC is the Academy Award nominated cinematographer of Moonlight. His latest project is Season 2 of Beef, the acclaimed Netflix series created by Lee Sung Jin. This season explores themes of love, class, and generational cycles. Key Podcast Highlights: -How James and Lee built a color palette of spring, summer, autumn, and winter that stays continuous through lighting, costume, and production design to give each couple their own visual world. -Why shooting on the large-format ARRI 265 was a thematic decision, presenting characters as larger than life symbols of forces far bigger than themselves. -How light and framing portray the power dynamics, from a harsh, undiffused backlit golf course confrontation to wide symmetrical frames of opulence that trap characters inside the class structures surrounding them. -How James and Lee established a shared visual language, honoring the DNA of Season 1 while pushing the show somewhere entirely new. Vermont is home to all sorts of bizarre cryptids, and most famously to Champ, the Lake Champlain monster. But like its New England sister states, it has its fair share of Bigfoot sightings as well. So this week I'm looking at Chittenden and Lamoille counties in northern Vermont. Stories include: a family driving at night near Colchester spotting a white Sasquatch in the snow; a retired nurse in Eden sees a Bigfoot walking on her property one sunny morning; a family staying at their remote cabin in the woods of Morrisville hear terrifying scream - and then an even more frightening creature; and a man and his family in the woods looking for a Christmas Tree find large, fresh footprints in the snow - but no person was around to make them. What do you think of these Bigfoot encounters in the Green Mountain State?Chapters:0:00 - Vermont: Home to many creepy cryptids1:48 - Geography: The only landlocked New England state2:40 - Woman and her family spot a white Bigfoot 9:34 - Retired woman watches a Bigfoot walk past her driveway24:18 - Family hears high-pitched vocalizations, then sees a possible Sasquatch31:12 - A man discovers fresh footprints in the snow on his land35:23 - Lots of weird cryptids in Vermont, but not many reports#bigfoot #vermont #cryptidsLinks!Follow us on Social media!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oddanduntold/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oddanduntoldWebsite: https://www.oddanduntold.comEmail me! : jason@oddanduntold.comBigfoot Sightings in Rhode Island | Providence & Washington County: https://youtu.be/BylOFZ_esqI?si=0hlK5Z1s79K9IcppBigfoot Sightings in Maine | York, Hancock, Androscoggin, and Penobscot Counties: https://youtu.be/JZAmfrTBI5E?si=EXWAPQO-U1n5z4KyCryptids of Vermont: https://youtu.be/qjN9JSnWBgk?si=C1s7eLUWoBVKU_xbUFO Sightings in Connecticut | Bantam & Morris: https://youtu.be/jMG-6uNFuWo?si=DDDOxppRfystkMyVBFRO Sightings for Chittenden: https://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_county_reports.asp?state=VT&county=ChittendenBFRO Sightings for Lamoille: https://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_county_reports.asp?state=VT&county=LamoilleCheck out Riversend, the band behind "Moonlight," our awesome theme music!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/1yIwfeu2cH1kDZaMYxKOUe?si=NIUijnmsQe6LNWOsfZ2jPwRiversend Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RiversendbandRiversend Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/riversendband/

Charlie Burg – Bookstore Girl @ Two, Moonlight (2018) 4. (2017) 7. eleventwelfth feat. Asteriska – your head as my favourite bookstore @ eleventwelfth [EP] (2017) 8. 鈴木愛奈 – 神保町哀歌 @ 神保町哀歌 (2019)

Every time June 3 comes around, Michelle Ryan marks the anniversary of her father's death in her own private way. She stays away from his grave. For Michelle, her dad simply isn't there. On that summer morning in 2011, 52-year-old Bobby Ryan, a quarry worker and part-time DJ known by the stage name ‘Mr Moonlight', vanished from rural Tipperary without a trace. Almost two years later, his body was discovered in an underground run-off tank near the farmhouse where he was last seen. The trial that followed was one of the longest in the history of the Irish State. By its conclusion, a love rivalry would be publicly exposed, a man would be jailed, and another man long buried. In May 2019, Patrick Quirke (then 50) was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He continues to deny any involvement in Mr Ryan's death. On this episode of The Indo Daily, host Tessa Fleming is joined by Irish Independent special correspondent Catherine Fegan to review the case, and by Michelle Ryan, daughter of Bobby Ryan, who speaks about the experience of losing her father and her vow to contest any potential release of his killer. In Old and in Middle English, the practice was to join the time with the preposition, using a hyphen "to-day," and "to-morrow," and "to-night," for instance. As the sense of their use as single notions developed, the two elements were brought together in written language (i.e., to night, to-night, and tonight). Nineteenth-century dictionaries opted for the hyphen in all three words. The OED shows hyphenated examples throughout the 19th century and into the early 20th. Latest examples are of to-day (1912), to-night (1908), and to-morrow (1927, with a possible further example as late as 1959). (Adapted from this article).

Peter shares why the Singapore push around Cardano Summit and TOKEN2049 matters, then walks through several projects he has been building himself, including the Learn Cardano DRep site, a new on-chain activity leaderboard, a bounty platform aimed at bringing fresh liquidity into the ecosystem, and the annual Push-Up Challenge fundraiser for mental health.Key Takeaways:- Indigo V3 expands Cardano DeFi with a new reward model, broader synthetic asset support, and stronger oracle infrastructure through Pyth.- Cardano Critical Integrations V2 focuses on maintaining major integrations and adding Fireblocks support that could matter for institutional and enterprise participation.- Vola Network's public testnet is an early example of how Cardano partner chains can serve specific business and infrastructure use cases.- The closure of JPG Store marks a transition point for Cardano NFTs and pushes users to understand migration paths and new marketplace options.- Midnight is moving from concept to product layer, with MeowDrop, Moonlight, Midnight City, privacy education, and new market experiments all appearing together.- Peter argues that Cardano Summit and TOKEN2049 are ecosystem-level opportunities because they create visibility with enterprise, regulatory, and infrastructure decision makers.- New builder tools such as the DRep portal, leaderboard, and bounty platform are designed to turn governance, on-chain activity, and contributor work into more visible participation.Links & References:- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/XUNLQX- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/Tp3KCS- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/CZyf7G- Intersect Hydra Voting: https://link.learncardano.io/Cn2nX9- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/5Jb2gu- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/AIZAji- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/Rnalwg- ANOlaunch — Launch Your Cardano Token Website | Pepeano: https://link.learncardano.io/QMI2e2- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/LqOXXT- Vola Explorer: https://link.learncardano.io/wniToA- Vola Wallet — Download: https://link.learncardano.io/TbNXZI- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/eMYzks- JPG Store says goodbye: https://link.learncardano.io/4sndu9- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/M9fSYi- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/jUMxS2- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/umzlvx- https://link.learncardano.io/kUAmIL- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/Ng3jsO- How Private Are You? | Midnight Privacy Quiz: https://link.learncardano.io/H3O0ye- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/s0HD1l- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/05qZPI- Ascend Market | Leveraged Event Perpetuals: https://link.learncardano.io/rzsx0D- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/ZNnQY5- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/EAesoJ- Cardano's Big Singapore Push: Why Summit + TOKEN2049 Could Shape the Next Cycle - YouTube: https://link.learncardano.io/t3YPs3- https://link.learncardano.io/Cahuqi- https://link.learncardano.io/GrfcOI- https://link.learncardano.io/Mx5NHZ- Peter Bui · Cardano DRep — Informed Voting, Public Rationales: https://link.learncardano.io/vG2x1z- Leaderboard | Learn Cardano Leaderboard: https://link.learncardano.io/wmcvrG- Cardano Bounties — Earn Stablecoins Building the Ecosystem: https://link.learncardano.io/S4Roix- x.com: https://link.learncardano.io/BpxyaE- The Push-Up Challenge - Cardano Community: https://link.learncardano.io/IGzXFOWebsite: https://link.learncardano.io/bQ68RcX/Twitter: https://link.learncardano.io/3a1QtvDisclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only. Welcome back! This week the ladies dive into "The Drama", the uncomfortable, anxiety-inducing A24 film starring  Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. What starts as an awkward romantic drama about an engaged couple heading into their wedding week, quickly spirals into something much darker after a “worst thing you've ever done” conversation goes completely off the rails. Emma reveals a disturbing part of her teenage past, and that one confession detonates the relationship, the "friend"group, and the entire wedding weekend. We break down the film's tense atmosphere, uncomfortable chemistry, and the bigger conversations surrounding alienation, radical honesty, identity, and whether people should be permanently defined by their teenage years. We also discuss how the movie intentionally challenges audience expectations by centering a Black woman in a narrative typically associated with a very different demographic, and whether that changes the level of empathy viewers are willing to extend. If you watched this movie and immediately needed to unpack all of that emotional chaos with somebody, this episode is for you. Cheers!

A Walk in the Park by William BundyThere is a park at the edge of a sleeping city. A man walks through it at night — tall, cloaked, unhurried — as if he has walked this way before, many times, across many years. A boy watches from a window. Dreams come. And something waits outside in the moonlight, patient as stone, returning with every full moon whether it is wanted or not.William Bundy's *A Walk in the Park* is a story about inheritance — the kind you don't choose.---*A Walk in the Park* is published on William Bundy's Substack at redsaidwrites.substack.com, where you'll find more of his writing in the same vein.---William Bundy is a UK-based writer of dark and supernatural fiction whose work spans short stories, essays, and film. First up on the podcast, along Brazil's Juruá River, local residents have been working with scientists to manage a giant fish called the arapaima—affecting the land, the people, and the economy. Contributing Correspondent Warren Cornwall joins host Sarah Crespi to talk about this collaborative effort. Next on the show, how moonlight affects nocturnal animals. Carlos Camacho, a researcher at the Doñana Biological Station, talks about the Moon-inflected habits of a nighttime foraging bird, the red-necked nightjar. His team found that the extra light provided by the full Moon allows these birds to consume more insects at night. And the timing of their long-haul migration between Europe and Africa is linked to the cycles of the Moon. Last up this week, Science Editor-in-Chief Holden Thorp talks with Timothy Snyder, historian and author of the book On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. They discuss the role of institutions, professional ethics, and personal beliefs for scientists in tough political times. This week's episode was produced with help from Podigy.
