It starts now, friends, as your resident horror maven takes you on a whistle-stop tour of her favourite indie horror games, ranging from the silly (Simulacra) to the serious (Detention), and from psychological spooks (Layers Of Fear) to outright jump-scares (Dark Deception). Once Liam and Rachel have been coaxed out from their hiding places behind the sofa, they submit some further suggestions that expose them as the secret horror fiends I kind of suspected they were all along. Recommendations for Devotion and The Missing: JJ Macfield And The Island Of Memories prompt some further enthusiastic discussion, but we also touch on Mundaun, Iron Lung, Signalis, and Cultic, and the output of DreadXP in general. Exhausted from the terror, we turn our attention to our latest batch of hyperfixations, which given that we haven't recorded an episode in over three weeks is quite the crop at this stage. Liam's been watching Love Island, but is keen to gloss over that in favour of finally getting into Pizza Tower and discovering the joys of the Half-Life 2: VR Mod on Steam. This year has seen a ton of triple A releases that have dominated sales charts and come to define the year in gaming thus far. What has been missing, however, has been the top tier indie games that have been seen in years past. This year has, of course, HAD indie games with things like Trek To Yomi, Nobody Saves The World, and Weird West getting attention from press outlets and Nintendo having its indie showcase just over 2 weeks ago. However, just last year, by this point we had Cyber Shadow, Olija, Habroxia 2, Anodyne 2, Loop Hero, Mundaun, Before Your Eyes, and that's just a few of the indie games to have come out. So with the relative lack of quality titles this year and a relatively nice lull in triple A releases coming right now, we thought it would be the best time to talk about some of our favorite indie games so that you, fine listener, can maybe try theme during the relative slow period of gaming this year. Alex, being of sound mind and body, bought his fiancé a Switch so she can play Animal Crossing and then passed the time by looking at free games on the Epic Game Store. Chance, being of sound mind but not as sound a body, continues to play Overwatch, in spite of the player pool getting weaker, and Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer, in spite of having solved the game to the point of running guided multiplayer tours for noobs. And Chamberlain, who is of neither sound mind nor sound body, played through the indie thriller Mundaun before doing the unthinkable: he gave Activision money by purchasing Diablo II Resurrected. Any abuse thrown his way is well deserved.

Mundaun est lʹœuvre du Lucernois Michel Ziegler. Il a mis six ans à faire ce jeu vidéo indépendant dʹhorreur à la première personne. Ce jeu est plein dʹoriginalité. Déjà, le style graphique est particulier: comme crayonné en nuance de gris. Ensuite, ce jeu se passe dans les Grisons. Finalement, il est entièrement en romanche. “It Takes Two” haben sich Matthias und David gedacht und diese Spielevorhersage alleine gestemmt. Joschka freut sich bestimmt trotzdem auch auf das eine oder andere Spiel. Schaut man sich die Liste an Releases an, dann stellt man fest: Der richtige Brecher für den Monat März fehlt irgendwie.
