East Timor is a multilingual country and experiencing that got him asking why we make such a song and dance about bilingualism in Ireland! When he came home he studied communications and worked with the Irish language newspapers Lá and Gaelscéal. He now works in the non-profit  sector. While he was working in journalism he started writing about myths we often hear about the Irish language, that it's a dead language, etc. He later developed that into a Mythbusting campaign with Conradh na Gaeilge which has included a TedX Talk and other public talks, articles in the Irish Times and Journal.ie, interviews on Raidió na Gaeltachta, Raidió na Life, Raidió Fáilte, RTÉ Radio 1 and BBC Radio and YouTube videos. He believes these myths have a real, negative effect on the Irish language and that is the main reason for the campaign. Deconstructing Myths about the Irish Language | Colm Ó Broin | TEDxBallyroanLibrary

Why would someone walk away from a lucrative, 15-year career in software engineering? For Jeffrey Allen, it came down to one thing: learning to prioritize the "spirit mind" over the "material mind.” That perspective shift gave him the inner clarity—and the bravery and courage—to finally move into a life and career of deeper purpose. Jeffrey is a spiritual teacher and energy healer whose work has empowered thousands of people, through Mindvalley's Healing Programs and through his own courses, trainings and years of individual and group work with thousands of people around the globe. His mission is to make access to our higher consciousness and to energy healing practices available to all—helping people release pain, deepen relationships, and live with genuine purpose. Alongside his wife, Hisami, he co-created Awakening Your Spirit Mind, a five‑week online training designed to help people reconnect with their true essence, tune into their connected consciousness beyond logic, and live more from joy and inner wisdom. Today, we weave together themes of career, leadership, personal growth, and performance as well as deep healing and growth, in a discussion about making the brave leap to deeper purpose in our lives and work. Jeffrey details his own transition from a successful 15-year career as a software engineer to a renowned energy healer and teacher - a move propelled by a “visceral” feeling of emptiness despite great outward success. He urges us to heed our inner guidance, observing that we're in an energy climate today where people are becoming more authentic, so our desires and priorities naturally evolve through growth and change. The discussion underscores the power of recognizing our two minds: the material mind, rooted in logic yet tangled with emotion and regret, and the spirit mind, which offers universal wisdom, a peaceful presence, and love. Jeffrey goes on to explain the difference between material mind spirituality and spirit mind, why our beliefs should be based on our experiences, and details a three-step (plus a bonus fourth) process to shift out of your material mind. Join this riveting conversation to discover how you, too, can take a brave leap to fully live your life purpose.   Key Highlights From This Episode: Introducing the title, topic, and guest for today's conversation: the brave leap to live your life purpose. On the surface, you may look like the model employee, partner, or friend: always dependable, always agreeable. But beneath the surface, you may be carrying a lifetime of survival strategies that keep you invisible in your own life. This is the story Dr. Ingrid Clayton knows both personally and professionally, and it's the story she helps so many of us begin to rewrite. Dr. Ingrid Clayton is a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced degrees in transpersonal and clinical psychology. She has maintained a thriving private practice for more than fifteen years and writes the popular Psychology Today blog, Emotional Sobriety, which has been read by over a million people. Her latest book, FAWNING: Why the Need to Please Makes Us Lose Ourselves—and How to Find Our Way Back, unpacks the subtle but profound ways we abandon ourselves by prioritizing others' approval. In our conversation, Ingrid reflects on her own experience as a childhood trauma survivor and how it revealed the fawning response: the instinct to please and appease in order to stay safe. Unlike fight, flight, or freeze, fawning resembles caretaking, compliance, and endless yeses, but it often leaves us feeling resentful and disconnected from our own needs. She explains how this adaptation becomes ingrained in the nervous system, how it shapes our relationships and careers, and why breaking the cycle can feel like stepping into the firing line. Yet within that discomfort lies the path to healing. Ingrid offers tangible practices for reclaiming your agency: pausing before you agree, noticing where resentment signals self-abandonment, and daring to let your voice be heard even when it shakes. Listen in to discover how to stop surviving on others' terms and begin living on your own!   Key Highlights From This Episode: An introduction to Dr. Ingrid Clayton and her new book on fawning. When we think of STEM, we often picture engineers, chemists, or programmers. But what about someone who patents a piece of clothing, challenges the textile industry, and builds a company around purpose-driven innovation? In a very unique episode of The TechEd Podcast, host Matt Kirchner sits down with Michael Drescher, Founder of Vibrant Body Company. Drescher's career has spanned cable TV, logistics, and media before leading him to unexpected innovations in fabric science and apparel. His story shows how engineering, chemistry, and entrepreneurship intersect in surprising ways — and why educators should encourage students to look beyond conventional STEM paths. From patents to cross-disciplinary collaboration, from science to social impact, Drescher offers a compelling case for why the next generation of innovators must combine technical skill with a sense of mission.Listen to learn:Why engineering careers often appear in unexpected industriesHow chemistry and materials science drive innovation in everyday productsWhat a utility patent in fashion reveals about unconventional STEM applicationsWhy budding entrepreneurs should leverage subject-matter experts from a range of fields to solve complex challengesWhy purpose-driven entrepreneurship matters for the next generation of innovators3 Big Takeaways from this Episode:1. Innovation often begins with a personal “why.” Drescher's journey started after losing loved ones to breast cancer, whereafter he dove into the science of women's garments and became the "unexpected messenger" of the fashion industry's pitfalls. From polyurethane cups to restricting the lymphatic system to "if it's on you, it's in you," Drescher shares the unexpected science of textiles.2. There's a need for STEM professionals in industries most people overlook. Vibrant Body's approach to undergarment design and manufacturing is a lesson in applied STEM - from the biomedical science of the "electrical body" to the chemistry of textiles to the engineering of clothing design. It's a lesson for educators to broaden their students' understanding of potential career fields in STEM disciplines.3. Collaboration across disciplines drives real breakthroughs. The Vibrant team combined expertise from molecular biology, technical bra design, German manufacturing, and Italian fabric engineering to create a product that earned a rare utility patent. Drescher emphasized that innovation is “breadcrumbing” - each expert leads to the next - a lesson educators can pass on to students tackling complex problems.Resources in this Episode:Vibrant Body: vibrantbodycompany.comOther:Michael's Tedx Talk on YouTube: "Theories on Breast Cancer"Breast Cancer Prevention PartnersBooks:Dressed to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and BrasThe Gene: An Intimate HistoryWe want to hear from you! In this episode, Brandy works with a wonderful volunteer named Carla, whose chronic pain has been a constant struggle and has been holding her back from the very things she wants to do. As the session unfolds, Carla begins to see how her body has been reflecting deeper emotional patterns. What's beautiful is that as she makes these changes to heal herself, she realizes it will hugely uplevel her life. In fact, she even begins to refer to it as Carla 3.0—or even Carla 5.0—because it feels like stepping into the next level of who she's meant to be. With Brandy's guidance, Carla experiences a powerful breakthrough, moving toward a freer, lighter, and more empowered version of herself. This episode is a reminder that: Chronic pain often carries hidden messages about emotional patterns. The tricky part with healing is that emotions can be very illogical. Real transformation happens when we choose to change those patterns. Healing yourself truly is the pathway to changing your life. Carla's journey shows how releasing hidden patterns can transform not only the body, but also the way we live, love, and experience life.   IMPORTANT NOTE: We understand that some may believe mind-body healing is impossible. Imagine being accused by people in the church of being a homosexual because of how you look, being rejected because of it and not even realizing that was your truth until much later, after many years of agonizing introspection! The church knew she was gay before she even did. How is that, if being gay is a choice? This story is powerful and incredibly eye opening. Dr. Koslowitz is a trauma expert, child psychologist, and author of the new book Post-Traumatic Parenting: Break the Cycle and Become the Parent You Always Wanted to Be. She treats children, adolescents, and families at the Center for Psychological Growth of New Jersey, and hosts the Post-Traumatic Parenting YouTube channel and podcast. In this conversation, she explains how trauma responses can surface in family life through yelling, dissociating, or people-pleasing, and why social media often deepens parents' shame instead of easing it. The episode explores how he, a self-described "hardcore introvert," believes this terrifying experience—scarier than his time as a paramedic—was a crucial step to propel the company's mission and start a vital conversation about the Childfree economy with a broader audience.Timestamps:

Most people believe that calming the nervous system is the key to healing. Meditation, breathwork, relaxation exercises—they all sound like the perfect formula and let's be honest, they can be beneficial in some ways. But here's the surprising truth: simply relaxing your nervous system could actually backfire and keep you stuck in pain, fear, or illness. In this episode, Brandy Gillmore breaks down the hidden risks of focusing only on nervous system regulation and why true healing requires more. You'll discover: Why nervous system relaxation alone doesn't create lasting self-healing.  How constant calming can actually suppress fear and emotions instead of releasing them. The essential role of courage, empowerment, and confidence in mind-body healing. A new way to rewire your mind for real transformation, joy, and health. If you've been working on your nervous system but still feel stuck—or you're searching for a deeper way to heal your body and mind—this episode will show you what's missing and how to finally move forward.   IMPORTANT NOTE: We understand that some may believe mind-body healing is impossible. Therefore, if you would like to see images of individuals using their minds to relieve pain, you can check out this medical journal. It includes images from some of Brandy's case studies. If you want to learn how to use your mind to heal yourself, you can check out the training on Brandy's website. Each week, Brandy publishes a volunteer episode where she coaches a volunteer to heal themselves using their own mind. In addition, Brandy shares a quick IQ episode (Insights and Questions) where she answers listener questions or delves deeper into insights on working with the mind for healing.
