Operating conditions in advanced manufacturing are changing fast as organizations push to modernize operations while navigating quality requirements, long lead times, and increasingly complex supply chains. As leaders look to apply AI across the physical world, many discover that technology alone is not enough. Success depends on strong operating fundamentals, clean master data, and a culture that aligns teams around execution, accountability, and continuous improvement. In this episode of Supply Chain Now, Scott Luton is joined by special guest host Wiley Jones to kick off a new 2026 series, Enterprise Unleashed, powered by the DOSS team. Together, they sit down with Garuth Acharya, investor at 8090 Industries and former operator with experience across GE, SpaceX, and Blue Origin, to explore what it really takes to build AI ready operations in advanced manufacturing. The conversation examines why AI initiatives often fail in industrial environments when data hygiene is weak, and why clean, correct, actionable data and disciplined master data practices are foundational to any successful transformation. The discussion also emphasizes practical ways AI can unlock value, from accelerating work instructions to improving shortage detection, surfacing procurement anomalies, and strengthening quality feedback loops. The panel returns to the human side of transformation: mission alignment, cross functional collaboration, clear ownership, and spending time on the shop floor before deciding what to build, buy, or partner for.Jump into the conversation:(00:00) Intro(00:47) Introducing the new series for 2026(01:32) Focus on AI-ready operations and advanced manufacturing(02:44) Special guest: Garuth Acharya(03:31) Guru's background and career journey(04:31) Rattlesnake wrestling and early career adventures(06:52) Experiences at SpaceX and Blue Origin(10:27) The importance of culture in high-stakes environments(14:59) AI in manufacturing and supply chain(20:10) Challenges and solutions in AI implementation(25:17) The importance of clean master data(26:22) Engineering and production challenges(27:26) Operational insights and red flags(29:47) Building a culture of clarity and ownership(33:35) Prioritizing modernizing operations(41:42) Advice for AI-ready operationsAdditional Links & Resources:Connect with Wiley Jones: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wileycwjones/Learn more about DOSS: https://www.doss.com/Connect with Garuth Acharya: https://www.linkedin.com/in/garuthacharya/Learn more about 8090 Industries: https://www.8090industries.com/Connect with Scott Luton:

For many women, the hardest part of working in male-dominated industries isn't the work itself—it's the constant pressure to prove, tolerate, and stay quiet just to belong. In this powerful conversation, Samantha shares her lived experience as one of the few women in aviation and maintenance, revealing the mental toll of being the "only one in the room" and how that pressure quietly erodes confidence, self-worth, and wellbeing. This episode is about protecting your mental health without shrinking, and learning how to stay, lead, and earn what you're worth—without burning out. ABOUT THE GUEST: Samantha Kaye Harris is a workforce retention and confidence strategist for women in the trades and other male-dominated fields. With more than 25 years of experience in industries like aviation and structural maintenance, she helps women speak up, lead strong, and stay in careers they worked hard to get into— instead of feeling pushed out. ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS: 1. START YOUR BRAG BAG TODAY Document your achievements, wins, and accolades—no matter how small. Review it when self-doubt creeps in. 2. Trust that you are qualified, capable, and belong. 4. SET BOUNDARIES WITHOUT APOLOGIZING Practice saying: "Let me finish," or "Give me a moment, and then you speak." 5. REFRAME CHALLENGES AS GROWTH Ask yourself: "What am I learning from this that will help elevate me?" 6. BREATHE AND RECONNECT When overwhelmed, stop and take a deep breath. Remind yourself of who you are. 7. In this episode of the Healthy, Wealthy and Smart podcast, Dr. Karen Litzy interviews Pete Moore, founder of Integrity Square, discussing the evolution of the health, active lifestyle, and outdoor sector, known as Halo. They explore the shortcomings of the term 'wellness', the importance of understanding business valuations and KPIs, and the emotional readiness required for business transitions. Pete shares insights on navigating growth, preparing for exits, and the significance of knowing one's competitors and market position. Takeaways The term 'wellness' is outdated and not serving the industry. Understanding your market position is crucial for business success. Local libraries can be valuable resources for business research. Key performance indicators (KPIs) are essential for evaluating business health. Emotional readiness is as important as financial readiness for business transitions. Knowing your competitors helps in strategic planning. Valuations are driven by more than just revenue multipliers. Founders often overlook the importance of mental preparation for exits. Networking and mentorship are vital for entrepreneurial growth. Continuous learning and adaptation are key to success in the Halo sector.  Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Halo and Wellness 01:49 Navigating Business Growth and Exits 03:22 Understanding Valuations and KPIs 05:54 Emotional Readiness for Business Transitions 06:56 Quickfire Insights for Entrepreneurs More About Pete: Pete is the Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Dream Architect at Integrity Square ("ISQ"), a leading boutique financial advisory firm focused on the $4.7T Health, Active Lifestyle, Outdoor ("HALO") sector.  Since founding ISQ in 2010, the firm has played an active advisory role in 100+ mergers & acquisitions, private placements and advisory assignments across North America. Are there cases where paid ads DON'T work for freelancers Yes, and I cover them on this week's podcast episode. If you're in one of these industries, ads might be a waste of money. If you're NOT in one of these industries, you then what's your excuse? There really shouldn't be any reasons not to make them work, unless you just don't want more clients. You could realistically go from someone seeing your ad to paying you money the same day (or at least within a week or so). For full show notes, visit https://6figurecreative.com/399

Since its release in 1976, ABBA's song "Fernando" has been loved by fans around the globe both for its sing-along chorus and its revolutionary spirit. In Fernando: A Song by ABBA (Duke UP, 2025), Kay Dickinson takes readers from Sweden and Chile to Australia and Poland, tracing the complicated ways the song could express support with anticapitalist and Third World liberation struggles while remaining an unrepentant commodity. A song about freedom fighters was unlikely to become a pop mega-hit, yet as Dickinson demonstrates, ABBA's lucrative, longstanding appeal rests on their ability to bridge contradictions within everyday life. Five decades later, "Fernando's" rousing calls for freedom continue to resonate with gay liberation movements and other social struggles, demonstrating how a song can be both revolutionary and an envoy for global capital. Kay Dickinson is Programme Convenor for Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Glasgow and author of Supply Chain Cinema: Producing Global Film Workers. Entrepreneur and sales strategist Doug Brown joins me to unpack what really happens when success collapses—and why the ability to rebuild matters more than avoiding failure. Most business conversations glamorize wins and sanitize losses. This episode does neither. Doug Brown and I walk through the uncomfortable reality of losing millions, starting over with almost nothing, and repeatedly reinventing yourself when the old path no longer works. From early failures in telecom and software to rebuilding after financial wipeouts, Doug shares what persistence actually looks like beyond motivational slogans. We explore why “safe careers” are an illusion, how low burn rates create optionality, and why scrimping alone won't build a meaningful life. This is a candid conversation about volatility, personal identity, money, family, regret, and why wisdom often comes from getting knocked down—then learning how to get up faster the next time. The lesson isn't masochism or chaos. It's designing a life and business resilient enough to absorb hits without losing yourself in the process.TL;DR* Reinvention isn't a phase—it's a permanent skill in modern life.* Failure isn't the problem; slow recovery time is.* Low burn rates create flexibility and asymmetric upside.* “Safe” careers can disappear faster than risky ones.* Wealth without alignment creates loneliness, not freedom.* Cash flow matters more than cash hoarding.* Regret comes more from inaction than from failed attempts.Memorable Lines* “It's not the setback—it's how fast you recover.”* “Live modestly so your life becomes a call option.”* “Money lets you arrive at your problems in style.”* “You only have to get it right once to set yourself free.”* “All the chips get pushed back to the middle eventually.”GuestDoug Brown — Entrepreneur, sales strategist, and founder of CEO Sales StrategiesFormer president of Tony Robbins' companies, advisor to global organizations, and veteran of 37 businesses across multiple industries.

With $30M in funding and customers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Jasper, NUE is redefining quote-to-cash by treating revenue as a continuous flow rather than disconnected handoffs. Mark shares insights on disrupting entrenched markets, building high-performance cultures, and why speed and flexibility have become the ultimate competitive advantages in an AI-driven world.Key Takeaways0:54 - The hidden complexity tax4:42 - Curiosity as a career compass8:59 - Skating to where the puck is going11:44 - The unified truth14:26 - The $2M discovery18:03 - Speed as strategy21:29 - Flexibility unlocks enterprise deals26:45 - The Trojan horse strategy28:09 - Productized implementation29:56 - Lightning-fast deployments38:21 - Market disruption wisdom45:47 - Culture starts at the top46:16 - NUE's three core valuesTweetable Quotes"The purpose of producing quotes isn't to produce quotes—it's to produce bills. Once you set that system up, changing it can often take longer than setting it up the first time." - Mark Walker"We have a saying at NUE: This is so hard not to love it. If you don't actually love working here, you should go." - Mark Walker"If you want to be trusted, be trustworthy. If you want to be respected, be respectful. If you want great partnership, be a great partner." - Mark Walker"The fastest-moving companies are over-indexing on what they don't know, whereas everybody else is buying systems based on what they think they know." - Mark WalkerSaaS Leadership Lessons1. Treat Revenue as a Lifecycle, Not a TransactionStop thinking of quoting, billing, and invoicing as separate steps. They're part of one continuous flow. When these systems are disconnected, you bleed 3-5% of ARR annually (per MGI research) and create unnecessary friction for customers and teams.2. Speed and Flexibility Trump Feature CompletenessIn a world where the pace of change has changed, the most critical attributes in technology partners are speed, flexibility, and time to value. Companies that can implement and iterate quickly have a massive competitive advantage over those locked into rigid, year-long implementations.3. Use a "Trojan Horse" Strategy—But Make It GoldWhen attacking entrenched markets, find a wedge product that serves as your entry point. But that wedge must be exceptional on its own merits. NUE's CPQ is so good that customers buy it standalone, then discover the billing platform inside.4. Build for Where Customers Are Going, Not Where They AreNUE targeted the hardest problems first—multi-attribute pricing, complex enterprise scenarios—because they wanted to help companies grow. If you're good at where customers are headed, small companies can use your platform to compete with giants.5.
