The Trump administration has announced plans to end temporary protected status for people from countries including Afghanistan, Cameroon, Venezuela, and Ukraine as part of a broader strategy to limit immigration. The administration also put a halt on refugee resettlement programs, but made an exception for white South Africans who officials said were facing persecution in their home country.

Through his social media brand "Anomaly Hunter" he delves into everything from the paranormal to UFOs, and explores all things unknown. He has always had a passion for adventure and discovery. His newest book, "The Mysteries of Kurupira" is about an isolated table mountain in the Amazon Rainforest that is a nexus for all sorts of high strangeness and unexplained phenomena. This mountain, named Kurupira, which is currently completely inaccessible and was mysteriously removed from all maps, is said to be the real life inspiration behind "The Lost World" by Arthur Conan Doyle. It has been the epicenter of sightings with seemingly prehistoric creatures, alien-like entities, and even more terrifying mysteries for over a century. The book is available on Amazon here: https://a.co/d/a3g9yWL His previous book, "The Lands Forgotten by Time: A Cryptozoologist's Guide to Lost Worlds and Legends" is available on Amazon. This book chronicles his research and investigation into the most unexplored, untouched, and exotic locations on earth. These ‘lost worlds'—places forgotten by modern civilization, indeed may constitute the last refuge of creatures long believed to be either mythical or extinct. These regions of the globe, which have existed in almost complete and utter isolation, may conceivably secretly harbor what will become the greatest scientific discoveries of our time. Liste quasiment exhaustive à lire dans The Hill. Major victory for President Trump: a federal judge just greenlit the use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport members of Venezuela's notorious Tren de Aragua gang. In this episode, we break down how Trump's bold invocation of an 18th-century statute is restoring law and order, and how the radical left's twisted obsession with race and Marxist ideology is collapsing under the weight of its own contradictions. In this return to one of this baseball podcast's earliest episodes, we discover two utility infielders, the Yankees' Wayne Tolleson and, well, nobody's Snooks Dowd (he was a Tigers, A's, and Dodgers reject) who weren't where they were supposed to be—or maybe they were exactly where they were supposed to be, but those in authority had a different opinion. This episode features a new introduction reflecting on how these lost players relate to some of the displaced people of our own times. The Infinite Inning is a journey to the past to understand the present using baseball as our time machine. Baseball, America's brighter mirror, often reflects, anticipates, and even mocks the stories we tell ourselves about our world today. Baseball Prospectus's Steven Goldman discusses the game's present, past, and future with forays outside the foul lines to the culture at large. Expect history, politics, stats, and frequent Casey Stengel quotations. Along the way, we'll try to solve the puzzle that is the Infinite Inning: How do you find the joy in life when you can't get anybody out?

Trump and his Sec of State Marco Rubio crowing about a “hostage rescue” operation in Venezuela to bring opposition party leaders opposed to the brutal Maduro Regime, only proves the point that Venezuela is a dangerous country that 100s of thousands of Venezuelans in the US given Temporary Protective Status by the Biden Administration should not be returned to. Michael Popok explores the revelations in the last 24 hours in the form of an unclassified memo and Rubio's bragging about how dangerous Venezuela is, that will blow the doors off of the Administration's attempt to defend their decision to end TPS for Venezuela because everything is really fine there. In recent years, political scientists have given a great deal of attention to “democratic backsliding”—the slow erosion of democracy by aspiring authoritarians. The events of the last several months in the United States—with attacks from the Trump administration on the press, higher education, and any center of power outside the White House—make this research all the more relevant. But the question of how leaders chip away at democracy is only part of the picture. There's also the question of what things look like from the other side: how can opposition movements resist democratic backsliding, and what techniques are most effective in doing so? Laura Gamboa, an assistant professor of democracy and global affairs at the University of Notre Dame, studies exactly this. Her book, “Resisting Backsliding,” examines case studies from Colombia, Venezuela, and elsewhere to gauge what opposition strategies have the best shot at pushing back against authoritarianism. She sat down with Lawfare Senior Editor Quinta Jurecic to discuss her research and what it might tell us about the state of democracy in America today.
