Chris and I just had the most nostalgic lunch reminiscing about the jobs, struggles, and insane risks we took to build the lives and businesses we have now. We talk about how I used to wake up at 4 AM to work at drive-thru coffee shops, while he spent winters plowing snow in freezing Wisconsin and even cleaned bar bathrooms at 3 AM just to survive. Looking back, we realized those experiences weren't just about making ends meet, they were building the risk tolerance we'd later need to succeed. We also share the #1 trait that separates successful entrepreneurs from the rest (hint: it's not talent, luck, or connections). Nicholas Sloan is a Wisconsin-based Network Engineer, a dad of 4, and an extremely motivated chess improver. Usually. But after an incredible run of gaining 500+ rating points in two years, fueled by consistent hard work and a unique study approach, Nick hit a wall. He gave back 150 rating points, and lost his motivation to work hard on chess. That can happen when you are a family man who is working full-time, studying for multiple hours a day, and creating chess content on top of that. Nick took time away to read some quality chess books, and to recalibrate his chess improvement plans. In our conversation Nick tells me: Why, after reflection, he has decided that the lofty goal of earning the National Master title is still worth pursuing. How a few chess books opened his eyes to the work he still had to do What he intends to do next As a longtime reader of Nick's blog, I was excited to finally chat with him, and I look forward to following his continued success. Pro Wresting Icon, Hollie Hogan, has passed away. An active gun scene in New York killed four people and then the shooter killed himself. CNN said the shooter was white when he was actually black. I have a "Fake News," segment where I talk about that and NBC with a fake news statement that they made. Democrats are worrying more about Jeffrey Epstein, then anthing else. Because, the Democrats think they can use that to destroy President Trump. The investigation are heating up into "Russia's site" and the Joe Biden's cover-up. Democrats in Wisconsin are delivering cardboard coffins to Republicans lawmaker's homes. President Trump is having a huge ballroom added on the White House that he is paying for himself. -Thank you for listening!-

Wisconsin started their second week of fall camp in Platteville on Monday morning. Zach and Jesse were there and discuss everything they saw, including more good things from Darrion Dupree, the offensive line becoming more solidified and other standouts from the sixth practice. The guys also talk about what OL coach AJ Blazek had to say and they answer some listener questionsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this two-part exposé, the discussion moves from American voter integrity battles to the rise of authoritarian control in the UK. First, the U.S. Department of Justice initiates long-awaited lawsuits to force states like Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin to clean up voter rolls riddled with illegal and questionable registrations—some tied to non-citizens and alleged ballot fraud in previous elections. Legal challenges from conservative groups intensify as fears grow that voter rolls could again be manipulated in 2024. Then, the spotlight shifts overseas to the United Kingdom, where the Online Safety Act is now in full force. A new cyber crimes unit has led to thousands of arrests over speech deemed “extremist” or critical of mass migration. Citizens risk prison simply for protesting immigration or posting videos on social media, as the UK government redefines dissent as terrorism. With growing fears of a similar system being exported globally, these back-to-back segments serve as a stark warning about the fragility of both electoral integrity and free expression in the modern West
A couple of weekends ago, the Association for Nude Recreation held their annual convention, celebrating all things in non-sexual nudity. We teamed up with former guest John Jankowski from We Bare All, a group in Wisconsin, who we've been working with to produce their podcast... Where do things stand today?
Nine people in Wisconsin have contracted measles. The first Wisconsin cases come as highly contagious disease is seeing a resurgence nationally. A new state Supreme Court justice takes her place on the bench as the court faces big cases ahead. And, we hear from a mustard-maker whose work won awards at the World-Wide Mustard Competition.
Wisconsin is reporting the first cases of Measles and don't worry, our leaders are here to "help" as Wisconsin lawmakers are making it easier to refuse vaccines, because...freedom! Then, the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics was fired this weekend, because she did her job, but we find out "rigging" the job numbers wasn't in her job description. Then, Civic Media's News Director Chali Pittman joins us to talk about all the news we may have missed including the installation of Justice Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, The Voting Rights Act turns 60 and The Corporation For Public Broadcasting is shutting down. Civic Media is against this decision and has stated so in the following press release. As always, thank you for listening, texting and calling, we couldn't do this without you! Wisconsin two active sports teams put on two different types of fireworks displays over the weekend. For the Green Bay Packers, it was the literal kind—a show in the skies to wrap up another successful Family Night practice. For the Brewers, the fireworks came from the bats—setting a record for the number of hits in a three-game series as they pounded the Nationals in Washington, and manager Pat Murphy getting attention for his in-game snack of… pocket pancakes?! Amber is joined by Pastor Mike Novotny as they unpack a few of the subtle but powerful lies many Christians live by. From personal habits to cultural clichés, they explore "Sneaky Lies Christians Believe"—how small compromises can erode faith and relationships quietly. With a mix of humor and honesty, Amber and Pastor Mike challenge listeners to rethink what they've accepted as normal. It's an invitation to trade half-truths for something deeper and more freeing. This is the first of several conversations Amber had at the Christian Leadership Experience in La Crosse, Wisconsin, earlier this summer. The conference was a chance for those in ministry to learn from leaders. Pastor Mike led a breakout session called, "Sneaky Lies Christians Believe." Amber wants to hear from you! This past April Wisconsin Judge Hannah “Diner” Dugan obstructed the lawful arrest of illegal migrant third-world invader Eduardo Flores-Ruiz by ICE agents executing a lawful order of deportation. Agents would ultimately have to chase Flores-Ruiz down a public street after his surreptitious release by Judge “Diner” Dugan, and secure his arrest. Unfortunately for Judge “Diner” Dugan, her escapades were entirely captured on court house surveillance cameras. As one might guess, this conduct is a violation of Federal law, and Judge Dugan was indicted for violating two federal statutes collectively good for 13 years in prison. She has been suspended from the bench pending her criminal prosecution proceedings in federal court.Hard facts make for a hard legal defense, and Judge “Diner” Dugan now finds herself having to raise the most outrageously ridiculous legal defenses in an effort to have the federal charges against her dismissed. A federal magistrate has already produced a 37-page legal analysis breaking down precisely why “Diner” Dugan is not entitled to dismissal and ought to proceed to trial—but that's not the final decision on this question. The unelected, black-robed, tyrannical, inferior, federal district trial judge assigned to the “Diner” Dugan case is Lynn Adelman, a rather infamous left-wing judge appointed to the federal bench by Bill Clinton in 1997. Prior to that, Adelman was an infamously left-wing Wisconsin legislator. Given the recent conduct of the federal bench in the law fare it is waging against Trump in general and the nation's immigration law in particular, one would expect Adelman to take an extra-judicially lenient view of “Diner” Dugan's demands for dismissal. In today's show we take a look at this week's most recent motion by Department of Justice prosecutors exposing why “Diner” Dugan's legal arguments for dismissal are without merit, and why she should face trial for her violation of federal felony crimes. The #1 guide for understanding when using force to protect yourself is legal. My guest today is a woman who listens to stone the way others listen to music, hearing the layered rhythms, ancient memory, and hidden messages beneath our feet.Dr. Marcia Bjornerud is a structural geologist, writer, and professor at Lawrence University whose work explores the physics of earthquakes, the architecture of mountains, and the deep time story of our living planet. She is the author of several beloved books for popular audiences, including Reading the Rocks, Timefulness, Geopedia, and most recently, Turning to Stone: Discovering the Subtle Wisdom of Rocks, which won the 2025 John Burroughs Medal for Natural History Writing. In today's conversation, we explore Earth as an animate, dynamic system, one that has been reinventing itself for over 4 billion years, leaving records of her great experiments in stone. We dive into Marcia's life's work of decoding that record and into her belief that rocks are not inert, they are narrators of Earth's evolving story. Marcia invites us to understand the language of stone, to foster a “geo-centric” worldview that reconnects us with the rhythms and relationships of this planet, and to step into a deeper kinship with the Earth as home.We also speak about her travels to remote parts of the world, such as Svalbard, Norway, her reflections on the Anthropocene, how thinking like a geologist can help save the world, and what she may have learned from Indigenous wisdom traditions in her dialogue with land and rock. This is a conversation about time, transformation, and the quiet, enduring truths that live in stone.Episode Highlights:02:30 – Dr. Bjornerud's early fascination with rocks from glacial deposits in Wisconsin.04:00 – Structuring her latest book Turning to Stone around autobiographical chapters, each linked to a specific rock.06:00 – Defining the term "timefulness" and how seeing in geologic time alters our perception of the present.07:30 – Rocks as palimpsests: ancient stories overwritten but still traceable.08:45 – Rocks as verbs, not nouns: dynamic participants in Earth's ongoing transformation.10:30 – Witnessing the radical evolution of geoscience: from fixed continents to dynamic tectonics and complex climate models.13:00 – Paradigm shifts: from denying catastrophes to accepting extinction events like the one that ended the dinosaurs.16:00 – Ice age floods and possible global correlations to catastrophic water events.18:00 – Reflections on flat-earthers, epistemology, and failures in science education.20:30 – Dr. Bjornerud's spiritual and emotional connection with rocks and their silent companionship.22:30 – Working in rapidly changing Arctic landscapes and observing real-time geology in motion.24:00 – The language of stone: sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks as dialects.26:00 – What would change if Western culture viewed the Earth as animate rather than mechanical?29:00 – Critiquing techno-optimism and misplaced hubris in dreams of colonizing Mars.32:00 – Hidden infrastructures of rock: aquifers, basalt weathering, and climate regulation.35:00 – Collaborating with Indigenous scientists and tribal legal teams to protect ecosystems.38:00 – Thinking like a geologist: embracing humility, interconnectedness, and a long-term perspective.40:00 – Letting go of narcissism and rediscovering our place in Earth's continuum.42:00 – Why colonizing Mars is scientifically implausible and ethically evasive.45:00 – Message for the seventh generation: the Earth abides—if we listen.47:00 – Closing reflection: stone as story, Earth as ancestor, and ourselves as part of a resilient and sacred cycle of becoming.Resources mentioned:Books by Dr. Marcia BjornerudTurning to Stone – https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781324093494Timefulness: How...

From Ricin to Freezers The Twisted Crimes of Kore Bommeli Adams Kore Bommeli Adams was already infamous in Wisconsin for attempting to poison her neighbors with homemade ricin. But when her roommate vanished in Oklahoma, the dark past came roaring back. In today's episode, we unravel the disturbing timeline of Adams—starting with her 2014 ricin plot, where she dusted lethal castor bean powder across a neighbor's home, hoping to kill silently. That plan failed. But six years later, something even more horrific surfaced. In 2020, her roommate Talina Galloway disappeared. Adams claimed she left to quarantine by a lake. But investigators found bleach-soaked floors and no trace of Talina's movement—until hikers in Arkansas opened a freezer in the woods and found dismembered remains. Phone data, receipts, and camera footage linked Adams to the freezer's purchase and placement. She's now facing murder and corpse desecration charges in Oklahoma, with a potential life sentence if convicted. Meanwhile, her Wisconsin ricin case has finally caught up with her, resulting in multiple guilty verdicts. This case is a masterclass in deception, calculated violence, and the danger of overlooking red flags. In this episode of American Potential, host David From is joined by Eric Bott, Vice President at Americans for Prosperity, for a powerful look at the growing movement to rein in unelected bureaucrats and restore legislative authority through the REINS Act—Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny. Eric shares firsthand how this transformative reform is taking root across the country. From its early adoption in Wisconsin and Florida to new victories in Oklahoma, Utah, Wyoming, and Kentucky—with more states on the way—the REINS Act is shifting power back where it belongs: to the people's elected representatives. Through stories of outrageous past regulations that crushed jobs and industries without a single vote, Eric explains how the REINS Act not only prevents future economic harm but also gives states a way to future-proof against the next crisis-driven power grab. With deep insights into the strategy behind the movement, real-world proof from states already seeing results, and an update on federal momentum, this episode is a roadmap for how smart policy—and persistent advocacy—can lead to big wins for freedom. If you're concerned about out-of-control government, economic uncertainty, or the erosion of checks and balances, this conversation is a must-hear.
