Does your life ever feel like it moves at an absolutely break-neck pace? Maybe that pace works well for you or maybe, over time, you start to feel like you’re drinking from a fire hose. Like you’re overwhelmed with experiences and information, unable to integrate and disconnected from everything that is happening. If that sounds true for you, today’s episode offers a meditation I’ve been using lately to slow things down and live with more peace. Maybe you naturally move with intention through your life. Maybe you LOVE moving quickly. Whatever pace you choose to move, I hope this new phrase inspires you to reflect on how your pace might be affecting your wellbeing; and that it brings you even the smallest measure of deep peace. The courage to reach out directly can transform your life—just ask Alex Muir, who landed on Omar's podcast through a simple, straightforward message expressing genuine interest. Their conversation reveals how directness creates opportunity where endless small talk fails. Both hosts share their journeys building podcasts from scratch during the pandemic, finding purpose when the world shut down. Alex, creator of the Mindset podcast focused on mind-body-spirit optimization, and Omar, whose "What If It Did Work" podcast recently hit one million downloads, discuss how they found meaning by helping others despite their own natural introversion. They laugh about the absurdity of social media pitches and cold calls that dance around the point instead of being upfront about intentions. As former sales professionals, they understand rejection intimately—the very thing that built their resilience and authenticity. "I've had so many suit dudes, so many no's that if I got a dollar for every no in my life, I'd be pretty wealthy," Omar reflects. The conversation takes a thoughtful turn toward meditation, mental clarity, and the importance of managing energy rather than obsessing over metrics. Both agree that success in niche content takes longer but creates deeper connections with audiences who genuinely need your message. As Alex puts it, "When the mission's clear and the niche is very niche, then I'm okay with it taking longer, because as long as you're enjoying the process, that's all that matters."Their authentic exchange offers a refreshing perspective on building something meaningful in a world of quick fixes and overnight success stories. I never imagined I would experience such profound upgrades while being back in my ancestral lands, just miles away from the South of Iran where my mother's lineage is from. I found myself tapping into a new level of queen frequency. Channeling Nefertiti energy. And with that came a massive purge of unconscious blocks I didn't even know I was carrying. And then, in a way only the universe could orchestrate… I ended up in a healing session at the side of a party. That night I met Frank Elaridi a four-time Emmy Award-winning journalist turned energy healer and spiritual coach. Within minutes of talking, I felt like I knew him from a past life. In this powerful episode of the Highest Self Podcast, we dive into: ✨ How to uncover the original reference point of your blocks
We're diving into the archives this summer to bring you some of our most memorable and impactful conversations — and today's episode is just too good to pass up. While we take a short summer break, we're re-sharing these standout episodes. So stay tuned all summer long for these gems! This week, we're bringing back Episode 27 with Dr. Danielle Novak — a deep and moving conversation that fuses psychoanalytic insight with the complexities of eating disorders. Dr. Novak, a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience and currently in psychoanalytic training at NYU, joins us to unpack one of the most elusive and critical aspects of disordered eating: the role of dissociation. This isn't just theory — it's a raw, compassionate exploration of how symptoms aren't random, but deeply protective mechanisms developed from unspoken, often unconscious emotional pain. If you've ever felt disconnected from your body, confused by your reactions, or wondered why food has such a powerful grip in moments of distress, this conversation will resonate deeply. In this episode, we're talking about: How eating disorders develop and are maintained as protective responses, not simply destructive habits. What dissociation really means and how it can show up subtly or severely in our everyday lives. How trauma — both big "T" and small "t" — plays a central role in dissociation and the onset of eating disorders. The ways emotions get stored in the body and expressed through symptoms when they can't be spoken. How restriction, binge-purge cycles, and overexercise act as coping mechanisms for overwhelming feelings. Why symptoms may provide temporary relief, but ultimately prevent us from connecting with our emotions and others. How building awareness and creating a “pause” between urge and action can begin to reconnect dissociated parts of the mind. The vital role of the therapeutic relationship in healing dissociation and restoring emotional expression. Why treatment often begins with symptom stabilization but must eventually move into deeper emotional territory to be truly transformative. Tweetable Quotes "I tend to believe that eating disorder behaviors are often sort of stand-ins for feelings that cannot be felt as feelings or expressed through words or through other means." - Dr. Danielle Novack "People don't learn how to regulate emotions. Emotions are just put away in a box and not looked at and not dealt with, and become separated from what's conscious." - Dr. Danielle Novack "Often people describe restriction as giving them a sense of like numbness and detachment that often feels preferable and safer than actually feeling their feelings." - Dr. Danielle Novack “Without knowing what's going on in our body, we can't possibly create important connections.” -Rachelle Heinemann Resources Dr. Danielle's Website It Takes A Village By Dr. Danielle Novack Grab my Journal Prompts Here Looking for a speaker for an upcoming event? After my divorce, I questioned why I would ever get married again. But as I healed, I began to wonder – what would marriage look like now? So many of us grew up with outdated ideas about partnership. We learned to shrink, play the “cool girl,” and abandon ourselves to keep the peace. But what happens when you wake up spiritually and your partner doesn't? In this episode, I talk with sacred feminine priestess Sarah Jenks about how she and her husband rebuilt their marriage around growth and soul evolution. We explore: What to do when your partner isn't growing with you How to avoid falling back into old gender roles Why most people settle for a relationship that's just “fine” What it takes to build a conscious, connected partnership This episode is for the woman who's ready to be met, seen, and chosen as her truest self. Do you ever get the feeling like everybody else is thriving and you’re the only one struggling? Maybe you’re scrolling social media and see a hundred smiling faces. Or maybe you bump into a friend at the grocery story who says they’re doing great! Everything is going great! All is well with their world! You might start to wonder if maybe it’s just you that is struggling financially or stuck in a dead-end job or circling the same block in your relationships again and again and again. Self-help (and all of culture) seems to say, “you can fix this!” “You can change this!” “Just three easy steps!” but can you… really? What if you’ve tried to “fix this” and not been successful? What does that say about you? We’re unpacking off of this on today’s episode. If you need a permission slip to be imperfect, this one is for you. In this episode, I talk about the 3 layers of human existence. Most people only live in the layer of the mind. The thoughts, the stories, the judgments. This creates a limited experience of reality. The next layer is the body, where we connect to life outside of thought. We feel. We are present. The body then becomes a portal to the spiritual dimension: the connection to all life force itself. When you connect to the deeper layers of existence, your mind becomes a creative tool that can access a deeper intelligence.I also announce the launch of our brand new program, Wholly Human. This week, I want to offer some straightforward writing and publishing advice that might hurt your feelings; but I’m willing to hurt your feelings since it is in service of awakening your inner artist (see: last week’s episode). Even if you’re “not a writer” or don’t have any aspirations for publishing, this advice is for you. It’s for any creative person who questions the validity of their art because they don’t make much (or any) money from their creative pursuits, because they don’t have a big following, or because their art doesn’t look like the art of those who have had commercial success. Before you give up, or if you already have, check out today’s episode. What I have to say might just change the way you approach your art altogether. I hope it helps you and I can’t wait to see what you make. You're doing the work — the mindset shifts, the somatic tools, the journaling — and still stuck in symptoms. Why?Because even in the mind-body space…You've been told lies.Lies that sound like healing.Lies that feel empowering. But lies that are keeping your body in survival. In this episode, I'm exposing five of the most common beliefs in the healing world that are quietly keeping you stuck — and what you need to do instead if you actually want to see results. Here's what you'll take away:The real reason regulation tools might be giving you short-term relief — but not long-term freedomWhy awareness and insight aren't enough to shift your symptoms (and what your subconscious actually needs instead)How to know if you're in a healing loop that feels productive… but is actually reinforcing the very pattern you're trying to breakIf you've been doing “all the right things” and still wondering what you're missing — this episode is your missing piece.------------------------------------------------------Ready to ditch the fear and become the healer you've been searching for?

Wellness expert and Ayurvedic practitioner Heather Grzych explores the idea that Ayurveda—far from being just a traditional health system—is actually a powerful tool for ushering in the next evolution of human consciousness. Broadcasting from the heart of the tech-saturated San Francisco Bay Area, Heather reflects on the concept of superconsciousness and why we may need inner technologies more than artificial ones to thrive in the future. Drawing parallels to Paul Atreides in Dune, she reveals how rhythm, breath, intuition, and ancient Ayurvedic practices could be essential for awakening our deeper intelligence in an increasingly fast-paced and destabilized world. Heather Grzych, ADLC is an American author and expert in Ayurvedic medicine who was formerly the president of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the head of product development for a multi-billion-dollar health insurance company. She also serves part of the faculty at Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda. Heather's first book, The Ayurvedic Guide to Fertility, has sold thousands of copies worldwide, and her writing has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Yoga Journal, and the Sunday Independent. I used to think the spiritual path was all about flow, affirmations, and manifesting your dream life. But over the years, I've realized the deepest spiritual growth happens through our relationships…especially the ones that challenge us the most. That's why I brought on my friend Kevin Crenshaw, also known as the Heart Guy. He's a relationship coach who blends spiritual insight with grounded, real-life tools to help people love more deeply and consciously. In this episode, we explore: Why the patterns you repeat in love are pointing you toward healing Whether your dream partner is real—or just a mirror A weekly practice called the “love meeting” that strengthens connection What masculine/feminine polarity looks like in real life How to grow with your partner instead of apart Whether you're single and wondering if conscious love exists, in a relationship craving more depth, or navigating what it means to truly be met in your heart. This conversation will meet you there. Kevin shares simple practices you can start using right away, even if your partner isn't “spiritual.” Because the truth is, your relationship isn't just about who you're with. it's about what you create together. On the Secret Witch Show today, our guest is Yolanda Williams. Yolanda is a Reiki Master Teacher, energetic alchemist, and host of the Reiki Radio podcast. Certified in Wellness Counseling through Cornell University, her work helps women come into sacred relationship with themselves - revealing the interconnected nature of mind, body, spirit, and energy. In this beautifully intimate and thought-provoking conversation, we explore what it truly means to live as both magician and human - to become a conscious creatrix of our life while honouring our very real, often messy, humanness. Yolanda shares openly about her own journey through energy work, healing, emotional repression, and the descent into her body - illuminating how sensitivity and self-awareness can become the very tools of our transformation. Together, we speak to the truth that we are always working with energy - whether consciously or unconsciously - and how our thoughts, feelings, and words are spells shaping our lives. This is an essential conversation for the Secret Witch who is navigating the tension between her spiritual gifts and her everyday human experience - and longs to trust that she already is the magic she's seeking. What You'll Learn from this Episode: We are always creating - either unconsciously from wounding or consciously through energetic integrity; our thoughts, feelings, and words are spells that shape our lives True magic is not about escaping humanity, but integrating it; healing begins by descending into the body and softening into our emotional truth Sensitivity is not a flaw - it's a sacred gift, and learning to honour it can guide us back to our wholeness and power Energy work unifies mind, body, and spirit - revealing the deeper self and activating our innate healing intelligence The archetype of the magician teaches us to master our inner elements - mind (air), emotion (water), will (fire), and body (earth) - in service to spirit (ether) You are the remedy - your lived experience holds the exact magic you're here to embody and offer. After my divorce, I felt completely disconnected from myself. Meditation didn't help—but small rituals did. Adorning myself. Lighting candles. Choosing beauty just for me. That's when I realized… this is the feminine path. In this episode, I'm joined by Shiva Rose, author, holistic beauty founder, and water priestess, who helped me remember that spirituality and sensuality don't have to be separate. We talk about reclaiming the yoni, self-sourced pleasure, and what it really means to embody your feminine energy no matter your relationship status. We cover: What "yoni" actually means and why it matters Maiden vs. woman energy Yoni steaming, breast massage, and womb clearing Creating intimacy without losing yourself How to reconnect with your body after heartbreak This is the conversation I wish I heard years ago. Have you ever found yourself in a relationship that felt magnetic… but also chaotic? Like the highs were euphoric but the lows left you questioning everything? In this week's episode of the Highest Self Podcast, I'm joined by love expert and dear friend Kels Kazarian to talk about a topic I know so many of us feel deeply twin flames, karmic cycles, and what it really means to be in a devotional partnership. We get into the heart of it all the spiritual, the somatic, and the sacred dynamics of romantic relationships. Together, we explore: What a twin flame actually is (and isn't) Why karmic relationships can feel so addictive How your nervous system influences who you're attracted to Why devotion isn't about self-abandonment How to identify when a soul contract is complete What it means to be met emotionally, spiritually, and energetically in love So often, we mistake chemistry for compatibility. We think a connection that activates our deepest wounds is one we're meant to stay in. But in truth, relationships are one of our greatest spiritual assignments and learning to discern between activation and alignment is part of our evolution. This episode is for the woman who's done the healing work. She's not afraid of depth but she's ready for consistency. She's no longer interested in performing, over-giving, or spiritualizing pain just to keep a connection alive. If you've ever felt like you're too much to hold, or worried that real love would mean losing yourself this conversation will shift everything.
