A collaboration with Kerry Guard. In this episode, we've got something different for you the MSOM audience with our very own Juan Mendoza being interviewed by Kerry Guard from tea time with tech marketing leaders! In this episode, we cover things ranging from audience capture through to building a media company. What you do with an audience and the value of it. We also talked about latest trends in marketing technology, tracking GDPR and the ever present issue of a more private web and how markets are reacting to it. Follow Juan Mendoza on LinkedIn and Twitter. Listen on Apple, Spotify, Google, and everywhere else. You can find Kerry on LinkedIn.
Given the new world order in privacy protection – GDPR, Apple Tracking (or not tracking), 3rd Party Cookies being discontinued, etc.– marketers need to revert back to basics... or a better way to think about it, is to look at the channels on the fringe that have been shoved to the wayside and reinvent bringing them back. Juan Mendoza, CEO of The Martech Weekly & TMW 100 Awards, joined Kerry Guard, CEO of MKG Marketing, on this episode of Tea Time with Tech Marketing Leaders to spill the tea on reactivating long-lost digital marketing channels to target through context and build first-part data lists faster and more intentionally. --- Tea Time with Tech Marketing Leaders is a Livecast on LinkedIn and YouTube almost every Thursday around 3pm ET. Kerry Guard, CEO and Co-Founder of MKG Marketing, interviews B2B marketers who work for complex tech brands and market to tough audiences who generally don't like marketing – CISOs, Developers and even us... marketers. Guests spill the tea on how they navigate meeting the customer where they are in the way in which they want to be met. How should we read, interpret, and apply history? How can historical misconceptions doom us to repeat the mistakes of the past? Is everything always getting better, or is it possible for new inventions and new ideas to be retrogressive--to take us a step backward? In this week's episode, Drs. Crystal and David C. Downing sit down with Producer Aaron Hill to discuss C.S. Lewis's inaugural lecture at Cambridge University for The Chair of Mediaeval and Renaissance, Literature entitled, "De Descriptione Temporum" or "A Description of the Times." They discuss how, in typical fashion, Lewis didn't waste this opportunity to simply say "thank you" for the promotion. Instead, he laid out his vision of history: how to read ancient literature, how to interpret history, and how the the avoidance of studying dead periods can actually enslave us to the past.
Streaming simply doesn't pay the bills! The discussion about streaming payouts has been going on for years. And now Snoop Dogg joined the debate: “That sh*t don't add up!” Kikelomo speaks to Darren Hemmings of Motive Unknown about what needs to change and about what we as fans can do to support our favorite artists. Plus: a rapping pro footballer keeping his identity secret, a new SoundCloud feature that may change fan to artist interaction, reactions to Beyoncé's tour start, a decisive ruling in the Ed vs Ed copyright trial – and this week's recommendation comes from Nils Gelfort aka Thabo calling in from Berlin.

This is a special tribute show for the late Kim Simmonds, the guitarist and founder of the English Blues Rock band Savoy Brown. The show spotlights Kim's work in the 1960's with the band. The second half of the show focuses on Ian Anderson and his retro Rennaissance band Jethro Tull. The band was an early proponent and influence on the coming music movement that would be referred to as Progressive Rock. Both bands expanded on the blues with marvelous results. Please feel free to donate or Tip the show at sonictyme@yahoo.comPlease have a look at these special interest sites. If you would, please make a donation of love and hope to St. Jude Children's HospitalMake an impact on the lives of St. Jude kids - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org)Get your Vegan Collagen Gummies from Earth & Elle, available thru Amazon at this link.Amazon.com: Earth & Elle Vegan Collagen Gummies - Non-GMO Biotin Gummies, Vitamin A, E, C - Plant Based Collagen Supplements for Healthier Hair, Skin, Nails - 60 Chews of Orange Flavored Gummies, Made in USA : Health & HouseholdKathy Bushnell Website for Emily Muff bandHome | Kathy Bushnell | Em & MooListen to previous shows at the main webpage at:https://www.buzzsprout.com/1329053Pamela Des Barres Home page for books, autographs, clothing and online writing classes.Pamela Des Barres | The Official Website of the Legendary Groupie and Author (pameladesbarresofficial.com)Listen to more music by Laurie Larson at:Home | Shashké Music and Art (laurielarson.net)View the most amazing paintings by Marijke Koger-Dunham (Formally of the 1960's artists collective, "The Fool").Psychedelic, Visionary and Fantasy Art by Marijke Koger (marijkekogerart.com)For unique Candles have a look at Stardust Lady's Etsy shopWhere art and armor become one where gods are by TwistedByStardust (etsy.com)For your astrological chart reading, contact Astrologer Tisch Aitken at:https://www.facebook.com/AstrologerTisch/Tarot card readings by Kalinda available atThe Mythical Muse | FacebookEmma Bonner-Morgan Facebook music pageThe Music Of Emma Bonner-Morgan | FacebookFor booking Children's parties and character parties in the Los Angeles area contact Kalinda Gray at:https://www.facebook.com/wishingwellparties/I'm listed in Feedspot's "Top 10 Psychedelic Podcasts You Must Follow".

Déjà le 10 ! Quel triomphe !
Jodi, Bridget, and Philip discuss the seminal 2007 Disney animated/live-action hybrid 'Enchanted,' from director Kevin Lima. This film would usher in the post-Rennaissance era of the Disney Princess which saw a soft revival with 'The Princess and the Frog' and truly exploded with CGI hits like 'Tangled' and 'Frozen.' Amy Adams portrays Giselle, a beautiful princess hidden away in the countryside of the kingdom of Andalasia. With a prologue lifted mostly from 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,' an evil queen desperate for power refuses to allow her stepson Prince Edward's marriage to Giselle to go through. Giselle is banished to another realm and finds herself in 2007 New York City, where she meets and befriends Patrick Dempsey's Robert and his daughter, Morgan. Entrenched in his own busy lifestyle, Robert has no time for Giselle and her fantasies but somehow can't help but be drawn to her. When Giselle is followed to New York by Edward and the Queen's henchman, a plot ensues that could spell a dire fate for Giselle and everyone around her. Welcome back, Witches! We are exhausted: personally, professionally, emotionally, all of the above! The Wild Women are ready to enter the world's Rennaissance phase where we can all just sit around, eating fruit by the water with our tits out. The world needs a moment to take a huge, collective, deep breath, but we don't know when that is happening. Instead, we are still in the middle of a global pandemic AND on the brink of a world war. Today Suzanne, Alex, and Nikole discuss toxic masculinity. We talk about how there is both toxic masculinity and toxic femininity – the tenents of which include socially maladaptive traits which are harmful to mental health. We discuss how women and men are both negatively affected by the patriarchy and "traditional gender roles," and how masculine and feminine energies are in all people and neither are gendered. The ladies also dive into the definition of patriarchy – and YES, Suzanne does get a little wet as she read from the dictionary, but everyone handles trauma differently – and how patriarchy seems to be the root of all the human shit happening in the world right now. The Women end up going deep on analyzing how the world has told you to act, whether that is good for you, and the fallacy that toxic masculinity puts on relationships to have 1 partner fulfil all of the other's needs. This is not a light hearted episode, but it is a conversation that needs to happen. Until next time, Stay Wild and Stay Witchy You can find Liz Plank at @feministabulous

Just in time for the Rennaissance of Barney (With a New Documentary and Feature Film slated for later this year), The Robio kicks off the New Year with a long-awaited new episode; an interview with Larry Rifkin, the PBS Executive responsible for bringing the well-loved Purple Dinosaur to the masses. But don't hate him for that particular achievement; instead, be inspired by the multi-faceted, diverse career of a guy who took everything he loved as a kid and found a way to make a living off all of it. It's all in his new book, 'No Dead Air: Career Reflections From the TV Executive Who Saved Barney From Extinction.' It's quite a unique episode. Cue John Hammond: 'We've spared no expense.'

Es ist das teuerste Gemälde der Welt. "Salvator Mundi". Great interview with my old friend and Modern Spirit Board Member Dr. Shamini Jain PhD. Dr. Shamini Jain is the Founder and CEO of the Consciousness and Healing Initiative (CHI), a collaborative accelerator that facilitates the transdisciplinary science and real-world application of consciousness and healing practices. As a clinical psychologist, as well as a research scientist in the fields of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) and integrative medicine for over a decade, Shamini formed CHI through a deep understanding that major systemic transformations, which will place healing at the center of medicine and scientific inquiry, will most rapidly occur through a networked approach that fosters collaboration and innovation among key stakeholders. Rennaissance woman Shamini Jain guides us into her fascinating work with CHI and the world of evidence-based biofield therapies…helping us to understand how energy healing techniques are finding their way back into modern healthcare. Always a joy to talk with Shamini, please join us.

On this episode of The Family Business Voice, Anders Sorman-Nilsson, futurist, Founder of Thinque and part of a family business legacy, speaks with Ramia about how COVID-19 has changed our outlook on the world as well as our appetite for technology. The Australian-Swedish dual-citizen has shared the stage with heads of state, penned three books and featured as a keynote speaker around the world. Growing up in a family business environment, Anders is well-acquainted with the obstacles that SMEs come up against when faced with a crisis. But he’s also quick to point out that in times of upheaval, change and opportunity exist simultaneously alongside each other. – Those companies that place a high value on learning and curiosity are better positioned to navigate the crisis, finding opportunity through innovation and creativity. – Pandemics of the past have changed the way we work: the Black Death may have led to the Rennaissance and Spanish Flu saw women enter the workforce in unprecedented numbers. Looking past the hardships to pay attention to how our society is changing as a result of the pandemic will serve family business leaders well over the coming months. – Artificial Intelligence and Big Data are just two of the technologies that will likely be catalysed by COVID-19. Using these technologies to free up human talent for creative work has the potential to make family businesses even more sustainable. In collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in London we continue with our series Writers in Search of A Reader. This time we discuss, in front of a live audience, the incredible singularity and legacy of cult Argentinian writer Roberto Arlt. Rediscovered in his own country just two decades after his early death in 1942, Arlt has the geniality of a true autodidact who by sheer neccesity became a poor man's Rennaissance figure: chronicler, reporter, playwright, inventor, short story teller and novelist. His four novels are now classics in the Latinamerican literary cannon particularly his masterpiece Los siete locos -The Seven Madmen. We invited Arlt translator Nick Caistor together with illustrator and cartoonist Oscar Grillo to discuss his indisputable originality and to explain why he is an obligatory reading for any lover of literature in any language. With Juan Toledo. Listen to our previous programme in Spanish on Arlt

Games played, events attended, and announcements witnessed. To kick things off, we start with our question of the week, for which we asked the listeners "What's a board game for which you'd like to see a direct sequel?" For acquisition disorders, Anthony looked at Marvel Champions The Card Game, Masters of Rennaissance, Obscurio, Point Salad, and Trismegistus. At the table, Anthony had a chance to play MegaCity Oceania, Old West Impressario and Shobu - check out his first impressions for all three (and which of them he bought on the spot). Anyone who's listened to our show know that the boys love talking music, and one reason is simply because Ryan loves playing the guitar! Or does he? Nick and Mike no longer think so, and so they decide to debate what new instrument his passion should be! Nick bangs out some points for the bongos. Mike puts his finger on some arguments for the recorder. Or do they? A twist ending awaits... Discussion points include renaissance fairs, complete body workouts, slam poetry, fingering holes, all natural oils, Slipknot, gargoyles, Carly Rae Jepsen, lung infections due to bagpipe mold, and Chris Isaak's sensual voice. Will Ryan grow out dreadlocks? What kind of genre does Mike think Leonard Bernstein is? Is Nick a voyeur? Find out by tuning in to: What is Ryan's New Instrument?

If you like Orleans, try out these seven games we've looked over - many of them bag building or similar in style and weight to the modern classic. Before we get to the feature, Anthony and Chris delve into the question of the week, asking the listeners what game they think most needs a second edition relaunch, in light of the recent announcement about X-Wing Miniatures Game 2nd Edition. For our acquisition disorders, Anthony looks at My Little Scythe, and Chris digs into both Arcadia Quest Rider and Mr. Cabbagehead's Garden. At the table this week, Anthony reviews the new game from AEG and John D. Clair, Space Base, and Chris gets the new expansion for Lorenzo il Magnifico, House of Rennaissance to the table. I love Rennaissance festivals. Why? Because it's full of people who usually are hiding behind a 4chan handle or on Reddit chat threads arguing about whether the Hobbit is a better movie than Starwars. It's just fabulous. People are happy, full of turkey legs, and have a commitment to costuming and role playing that I admire. It's probably my 11 years of circus/theatre camp and my years of playing Dungeons and Dragons that allows me to to blend seamlessly with these kind of people. It's neat. It's a wonderful escape from the actual reality of the 4 headless horsemen who are disguised as Hurricanes, earthquakes and orange man babies. This episode won't really teach you anything new, but it will maybe remind you that behind any facade, there is a heart that is searching to connect with the world around it. We are all in this together, we all just use different tools to shield us from the world. Edited by Emily Brodtman

On this show: PSU's youth artists create an album to tackle the drop-out crisis Kansas City, MO students see half of their city's public schools shut down Highlights from PSU's official launch of the Campaign for Non-violent schools West Philadelphia High students put forward their hopes & concerns for the Rennaissance 'turnaround' of their school Plus music & other education news. This month's show was hosted by Shaina Richards & Jaileah Gibson. Matt Johnson & Justin Carter were the engineers.
The Philadelphia School District recently announced that West Philadelphia High School is eligible to become a Renaissance school. This means that, if West is selected as a Renaissance school, West could be subject to 'turnaround' reforms and possibly outside managers. Since West already has a plan for whole school transformation, one that students and community members have spent years working towards (and that has already had big positive effects on the school climate), many people are concerned about what the Renaissance process could mean for the school. In this piece, Shaina Richards (center in photo) interviewed West student Justin Carter (left in photo) about his reaction to the situation. Shaina Richards produced this piece. Read more about community responses to West becoming eligible to be a Renaissance School: http://www.thenotebook.org/blog/102263/west-phildelphia-community-responds-renaissance-label
On November 19th, Philadelphia Student Union and Youth United for Change brought out a group of students to take part in a feedback session about the renaissance schools process, held by the School District. The renaissance schools are part of the School District's plan, Imagine 2014. Under this plan, several under-performing schools will be placed under new management; these schools will be called 'Renaissance Schools' and they could be handed over to outside managers, such as Charter Management and Education Management Organizations. The District has put out some information about what these "turn-around schools" will look like, but a lot of questions remain. Here are some of the questions that PSU students wanted answers to... This piece was produced by Cherelle Reed & Javier Morris.
Despite the fact there is a more than 2,400-year-old military tradition within Western civilization of close-combat proficiency, few subjects have received as unfortunate neglect by historians and academics than the martial arts of Western Europe. But a growing amount of modern research has centered on the historical methods of using various types of Medieval and Renaissance swords and weaponry in historically accurate and martially sound manners. This emerging study of historical European martial arts involves a fascinating combination of military history, fencing history, literature, art, language, and archaeology. The history of European arms and armor is itself one of established continuity marked by sudden developments of necessitated innovation. As new tools were devised, so too were new methods for using them. These methods in turn influenced still newer designs.
