Summer officially arrived the second a teenager accepted cash to shave off his broccoli haircut in somebody's garage like it was a shady underground stock trade. This episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a parenting moment every adult secretly fears: your kid walks into the house saying, “Dad… I think I messed up.” Naturally, everyone assumes the car exploded or someone got arrested. Nope. Just a fresh buzzcut and instant regret.Apparently the new trend among teenage dudes is sacrificing their curls for gas money, construction jobs, or whatever weird social experiment Gen Z is running this week. The gang debates whether the broccoli boys are evolving, devolving, or accidentally forming a 1998 nu-metal tribute band. There's also concern over sunscreen, dating prospects, and whether moms are legally allowed to roast their sons immediately after a haircut disaster. Then things somehow get even more chaotic with the return of the “Three Song Challenge,” where listeners have exactly seconds to identify legendary bands based on three song titles. Sounds easy, right? Apparently not. Friday's contestants embarrassed the entire listening audience, so this episode becomes a redemption tour for humanity itself. The daily comedy show spirals through rounds featuring Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Journey, Weezer, Rage Against The Machine, CCR, Smashing Pumpkins, Mötley Crüe, No Doubt, Iron Maiden, Incubus, ZZ Top, and Beastie Boys. Some callers absolutely dominate. Others sound like they've never heard music before despite living on Earth their entire lives. There are screaming kids in the background, accidental team-ups between callers, confusion, panic, and enough rock nostalgia to make your uncle punch drywall in excitement. It's basically what happens when a funny podcast combines classic rock radio, family dysfunction, and game show pressure into one beautiful trainwreck. The gang also teases discussions about dating costs, modern beauty standards, and whether the legendary “dad bod” was ever truly appreciated or if society just gaslit average men for several years. Tough questions get asked. Few answers arrive. If you love a comedy podcast loaded with sarcastic humor, music references, weird trends, parenting fails, St. Louis chaos, and daily nonsense that somehow feels therapeutic, this episode delivers all of it. This daily comedy show continues proving that absolutely nobody has things figured out — especially not the people hosting it.And honestly? If somebody offers you $50 to shave your head this summer… negotiate harder.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Parents everywhere know there's a level of frustration where you stop talking… and start blasting Huey Lewis in the garage like your life depends on it. This episode starts with Rizz admitting one of his kids pushed him so far over the edge that he had to activate the emergency happy playlist — and honestly, that may be the most relatable thing ever said on a daily comedy show. The gang dives deep into the songs guaranteed to rescue your mood, including Bermuda by John Linnell, “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher,” “Power of Love,” “Stayin' Alive,” Wilson Phillips, Grateful Dead deep cuts, and enough Motown to heal emotional damage from modern life. Somehow the conversation turns into Michael Jackson hiding under your bed, CPR training from The Office, and whether Poison's “Nothing But a Good Time” should legally qualify as antidepressants. Then things escalate exactly the way they always do around here. There's major concert news with the Smashing Pumpkins launching a massive anniversary tour for Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness, plus Sonic Temple highlights featuring Shinedown, Daughtry, and Lzzy Hale absolutely crushing live performances. The crew also debates legendary tours after a “greatest concerts of all time” list sparks chaos because apparently U2 and Garth Brooks got disrespected so hard that Moon nearly launched himself through a wall.Speaking of questionable life decisions, Moon opens up about tattoo regret and realizing some of his old ink now resembles “a Walmart quarter-machine mistake.” The gang breaks down famous rock stars with zero tattoos, including Lars Ulrich, Alice Cooper, Trent Reznor, and Dave Mustaine. Meanwhile, Moon's tattoos are slowly evolving into what the show describes as “touched-up church Jesus art.” Honestly, no notes.Celebrity nonsense also reaches elite levels in this episode. Tom Brady apparently debuted a new look that made listeners compare him to Patrick Bateman, an animatronic billionaire, and a rejected Zoolander villain. The crew debates whether Brady's “perfect guy” magic is finally wearing off after another bizarre fashion appearance. There's also fake celebrity dating rumors involving Pamela Anderson and Tom Cruise, SNL madness with Chad Smith impersonating Will Ferrell, Paul McCartney showing up with new music nobody expected, and Casey Musgraves performing breakup songs on top of a washing machine because country music symbolism has fully left Earth. As always, this daily comedy show somehow mixes music nerdery, parenting meltdowns, celebrity gossip, nostalgic chaos, weird news, and absolutely unnecessary side conversations into one giant sarcastic fever dream. It's basically group therapy for people who laugh at inappropriate moments and still think “Stayin' Alive” is a medically useful song.If you love comedy podcasts, funny celebrity gossip, weird stories, sarcastic humor, music debates, and total morning show chaos straight out of St. Louis, this episode has everything except emotional maturity. And yes… somebody absolutely ends the show talking about porno birthdays. “It took me like a hard 16 seconds…but I got it down…I swallowed all of it…”   Released April 10, 2026, DEAD TO RIGHTS, the 14th studio album in 40+ years from the mighty METAL CHURCH, features a new line up and a return to the power metal infused thrash style that made them a force to be reckoned with back in the 80's, during the heyday of the (then relatively new) thrash scene.   “I was proud of myself…that I finished that much…in so little time…”   Featuring David Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth) on bass, Ken Mary (currently of Flotsam and Jetsam) on drums, and brand-new vocalist Brian Allen, DEAD TO RIGHTS contains all of the best elements of “The Dark” and “Blessing In Disguise” with the added blessing of modern production quality. This album is chock full of great riffs and catchy hooks that maintains the classic “flavor of Metal Church” with some upgraded, present-day refinements.   “He's got great gear…he's got really nice gear…I kinda wanna play with his gear…”   Find out why “Splitting The G” is an essential St. Patrick's Day event for every holiday, get yourself a tiny sample of the brand-new Venom album, “Into Oblivion” (featuring Cronos), and find out why “the Metallica of the WCW” likes to enjoy “the Evil Bean with the Mean Gene” when you JOIN US as we embrace the power and the fury of METAL CHURCH with their latest offering, DEAD TO RIGHTS.   Visit www.metalnerdery.com/podcast for more on this episode Help Support Metal Nerdery https://www.patreon.com/metalnerderypodcast Leave us a Voicemail to be played on a future episode: 980-666-8182 Metal Nerdery Tees and Hoodies – metalnerdery.com/merch and kindly leave us a review and/or rating on your favorite Podcast app Follow us on the Socials: Facebook - Instagram - TikTok Email: metalnerdery@gmail.com Can't be LOUD Enough Playlist on Spotify Metal Nerdery Munchies on YouTube @metalnerderypodcast Show Notes: (00:01): “I'm not a beer chugger…there's a thing called ‘splitting the G'…”/ #SplittingTheG /  “I guess they do it in Ireland or something, where #Guiness is big…”/ “I'm not usually a big beer chugger…”/ “We practiced ALL night…”/ “It took me like a hard 16 seconds to get it…but I got it down…I swallowed all of it…”/ “It was creamy and foamy…OMG it was too much…”/ “We got The Mean Bean…wait, wasn't that the dude with The Hulkster? ‘The Evil Bean'…that's Mean Gene!”/ “The Hulkster's got a show on #Netflix…it's a #documentary …”/ “He was like the #Metallica of the WCW I think…”/ “He was part of…WCW, WWF…was he in the whole N.W.O. thing? Prior to Napster and LimeWire, the music industry seemed to be a cash cow. Everyone wanted in. But in the world of streaming, artists are making literal pennies on the dollar. Some bands will need tens of thousands of listens and likes to make a paycheck. The music industry is broken, which is why Bruce Springsteen and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have cashed in their chips and sold their music catalogue.   In this solo episode of the Check Your Brain podcast, Tony Mazur analyzes the issues in modern music. He plays interviews from Rick Beato and Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan who said rock 'n' roll was systematically destroyed three decades ago, and the only way one makes it in the music industry is if they have rich parents subsidizing their kids' vanity project. He also touches on the ridiculous New York Times' list of 30 Greatest Living Songwriters, the unoriginality in modern music, and the phenomenon known as "Blue Dot Fever."   Be sure to subscribe to Tony's Patreon. $3 gets you just audio, $5 gets video AND audio, and $10 has all of the above, as well as bonus podcasts per week. This week, the internet did what it always does: took something good, something that clearly resonated with real people, and turned it into a battlefield. We're talking about Mixtape — the new game from Beethoven & Dinosaur and Annapurna — and why the so-called "controversy" surrounding it tells you more about gaming culture than it does about the actual game.Because let's be honest: a 2-to-3 hour game with a 95 Metascore on Xbox, thousands of positive Steam reviews, and music from Devo, Joy Division, and the Smashing Pumpkins doesn't NEED the internet's permission to be good. But here we are. We're going to talk about why these faux controversies keep popping up, what they say about who gaming makes room for, and why some people just cannot stand it when a game dares to be an emotional experience without a fail state. Then we get into Saros — Housemarque's spiritual successor to Returnal — and yeah, we have THOUGHTS. Arjun Devraj, Rahul Kohli going absolutely OFF in this performance, cosmic horror on planet Carcosa, and a roguelite loop that somehow got MORE accessible without losing the teeth that made Returnal special. Is it better than Returnal? That's a conversation we need to have.We also sat down with Directive 8020 — the newest entry in Supermassive's Dark Pictures Anthology — which takes the series to space and has y'all fighting alien mimics in the void. Alien meets The Thing in video game form? The story and the Turning Points mechanic are genuinely doing something. The stealth sections though… we'll talk about it.And to close it out: Double Fine — Tim Schafer's legendary studio, makers of Psychonauts and the recently released Kiln — has filed a petition to unionize with the CWA. 42 workers. Microsoft taking a neutral stance. This is big, and it's part of a larger wave rolling through the industry. Workers deserve protection, and this moment matters. Well well well, Mr Hucknall, we meet again. Simply Red's 1995 album 'Life' was a big seller and had a massive number one single on it but kind of feels like it doesn't get remembered much when people look back. We certainly didn't know anything much about it going into this episode and to be honest we kind of wish it had stayed that way. But we do have probably the biggest albums and singles sections that we've ever done, loads of bands that we get to talk about like Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Anthrax and obviously Cliff Richard. Plus we get to add a song to our "much-loved" Give Me Some Reggae! playlist where we add terrible reggae songs from albums we're covering that are in no way reggae albums which is always the sign of a good episode. As always please do give us a follow on our social media platforms and why not go and give us a nice rating or comment over on Spotify now that you're able to while you're checking out this episode's companion playlist (which contains ALL of the songs we talk about on this one) and our ongoing and sprawling playlist of songs from each album that we do an episode on. And if you want to donate to our PayPal account for the price of a pint or a cup of coffee that is always appreciated as well obviously. Cheers!

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS - Tonight, TonightTHE SMASHING PUMPKINS - Bullet With Butterfly WingsWINONA FIGHTER - BOMBS AWAYNIÑA COYOYE ETA CHICO TORNADO - Abrazo DerradeiroTHE LAST DINNER PARTY - Big Dog (On The Road)ROSTAM - Hardy (ft.

On First Concert Memories 34 we welcome friend of the show and 2 time former guest Ryan Condal, Co-Creator and Executive Producer of House of the Dragon, onto our monthly podcast about those special moments growing up when your favorite rock band is everything. Ryan transports us back to New Jersey in the late 1990's when he took his buddies and his little brother to see Rage Against The Machine with openers The Wu Tang Clan. Hear the astute and well read Ryan talk about learning history through the lyrics of Rage Against The Machine and warming up for lacrosse games with it blaring over the field. He espouses about the tones and funky sounds of guitarist Tom Morello laying the foundation for the anti-establishment lyrics from Zack de la Rocha. For Ryan's generation, Rage represented more than just the teenage angst of bands like Nirvana or Smashing Pumpkins - they educated kids on why the world was unfair and what they needed to do to change that. As The Wolf and Action Jackson are not only years older than Ryan but their musical tastes always skewed older for their own generation, they loved hearing from Ryan how RATM was such an important factor in molding his musical tastes but also his understanding of the world we live in. And yikes, she has stories. We'll learn about life on the road with Hole (yeah, it was as crazy as you think), Lollapalooza bus trips with Sinéad O'Connor, haunted houses on fire in New Orleans, tea with Ozzy Osbourne, leaving Hole and joining Smashing Pumpkins, going solo, and finally walking away from it all. And we even recall the time we met Melissa a few years back, which shockingly is not covered in the book. (Gotta leave something for the sequel, right?) But Billy has continued through it all. Back in 2012, Billy was in Australia to play Splendour in the Grass with the latest incarnation of Smashing Pumpkins. Thanks to our Partners, Pico Technology, Autel, and Independent Wrench JobsWatch Full Video EpisodeIn this episode, Matt Fanslow starts in an unexpected place, music, vocal styles, and Smashing Pumpkins, before using a series of stories from the music and sports worlds to make a bigger point about mentorship. The central idea is simple but important: mentorship has to come from both directions. Experienced people need to step in and offer guidance, and younger people need to be willing to ask questions and listen.Using examples involving Billy Corgan, Ryan Leaf, and Charles Barkley, Matt explores how young people often make costly decisions not because they are reckless or foolish, but because nobody pulled them aside and explained the long-term consequences. From contracts and money management to discipline and preparation, the lesson is that hindsight may be 20/20, but it is far better to learn from someone else's mistakes before they become your own.Matt then brings the conversation back to the automotive repair world, where the same pattern shows up all the time. New people entering the field are often hit with student debt, pressure to buy expensive toolboxes and tools, and unrealistic expectations about how easy the work should feel. Rather than watching them stumble into avoidable financial mistakes, seasoned professionals, shop owners, and managers should step in, offer guidance, and help reduce unnecessary burdens. Whether it is tools, training, or simply helping someone think more clearly about their next step, good mentoring can change the trajectory of a career. In this episode:Why mentorship matters more than most people realizeThe Billy Corgan / Smashing Pumpkins story and the cost of not having guidanceRyan Leaf, Peyton Manning, and how early choices can shape an entire careerCharles Barkley, Dr. J, and Moses Malone as an example of mentorship done rightThe direct parallel between pro sports, music, and the automotive industryWhy young specialists can get buried in debt before they ever gain tractionThe problem with pushing new people toward expensive tool truck purchasesHow shops can better support newer hires with tools, training, and realistic expectationsWhy learning from someone else's mistakes is often better than learning from your ownValuable training and learning resources for developing specialistsKey Takeaway:If the industry wants more capable, successful technical and mechanical specialists, it cannot just complain about shortages and washout rates. It has to do a better job of mentoring, advising, and protecting newer people from avoidable mistakes.Resources Mentioned:Scanner Danner PremiumAutel training videos and user-created contentPico Technology training videos and user-created contentAESwave resourcesDiagnostic NetworkFacebook groups with strong technical communitiesThanks to our Partner, Pico TechnologyAre you chasing elusive automotive problems? Episode 102: Jimmy Chamberlin Today is the greatest day I've ever known, because one of my favorite drummers is here in my home. Jimmy Chamberlin changed the sound of rock music, MTV, and radio in the 90s when his drums were heard around the world. His approach to jazz, fusion, and rock all coming together helped create the unique sound of Smashing Pumpkins that no one had ever heard before. In this interview, we go deep on how Jimmy developed that sound, his approach to drumming, and his philosophies on music and life. We talk about how The Smashing Pumpkins became a band, and how they made their iconic albums Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Siamese Dream, and Gish, while double clicking into Bullet with Butterfly Wings, 1979, Tonight, Tonight, Today, Cherub Rock, Jellybelly, and so much more. We also discuss the incredible scene that was the 90's, his drummer friends, what that magical moment in time felt like to him, and a whole lotta drum and music talk. Jimmy is an incredibly intelligent human with profound thoughts that will really make you stop and think. He also shares a ton of great stories from his 40+ year career.I hope you enjoy my conversation with a true drumming legend, Jimmy Chamberlin. Today's guest is the architect of alternative rock who sold 30 million albums and defined the sound of an entire generation — but whose real story begins after the hits stopped mattering to him. From the suburbs of Chicago to the apex of 90s mainstream success, Billy Corgan built an empire. Then he spent the last 20 years quietly dismantling the idea that commercial success is the same thing as real value. He carries three things simultaneously that most artists never figure out how to hold at once: the ambition of someone who was never going to settle for the midwest, the technical genius of a classically-trained musician who produces every layer of his own work, and the philosophical rigor of someone willing to completely reimagine what success actually means. This is one of the more unflinching conversations about what staying relevant actually costs — not the version that gets posted on socials, the version that gets lived in the real decisions you make about art, money, independence, and how you want to spend your time. When the gatekeepers are gone and nobody's controlling the narrative anymore, who do you become? And The Writer Is... Billy Corgan! In this episode of And The Writer Is, we go deep on:• The trap of being defined by your greatest hits — and why he refuses it• His father's failed music career, and the moment his dad finally understood• Chicago's inward-facing indie scene and the cost of communities that don't believe in themselves• How the value of artists gets assessed in rooms — and why that's broken• What "influence" actually means vs. commercial success• The gatekeepers are gone — what that really means for independent artists• Owning 100% of your publishing and why that changes everything• Building a new world where direct artist support is how things actually work• Why legacy thinking is changing, and what comes nextAnd much more...Hit subscribe and turn on notifications.
