In the ManKind Project we talk about Doing the work … When we talk about ‘work,' we're talking about the emotional and psychological labor that it takes to become an integrated being. What is life like when you discover that the ‘work' is worth doing … no matter how old you are? Peter Clothier is 86 years old. Peter Clothier's latest book, “Dear Harry,” is a deep exploration his relationship with his Father, through letters, it's a confessional of the hidden darkness that men can hold onto for decades, and how the process of engaging with memory and story can create a new way of being … for body, mind, spirit, and soul. How do we re-narrate and heal our past? How does sharing with others through confession bring us closer together? How do we create relationships with people who are no longer here? How can we embrace meditation and contemplation in our pursuit of art … as a way to connect and expand our understanding or art?Montauk Highway by William de Kooning - https://collections.lacma.org/node/224664 Peter's empathy and compassion flow in his story-telling in such a beautiful and gentle way. Chris Hemmings is on his way back from an incredibly dark place.Once considered one of the UK's leading experts and facilitators in conversations surrounding manhood, masculinity, male psychology, and suicide prevention was accused of sexual abuse by someone he briefly dated (IMPORTANT: The accuser has since retracted her allegation). This resulted in the masses slandering and defaming him all over the comment sections of his online content (much of which has gone viral several times). The backlash from the false allegation sent Chris into a deep spiral of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideations. Without solid evidence, many of his networks in the Journalism, Education, and Mental Health fields turned their backs on him. Where does that leave Chris today? Well, you are going to hear of Chris's journey through forgiveness, reconciliation, and deep inner work to become a man who, given the chance, wouldn't change anything that has happened to him. Highlights From The Episode:How one allegation completely upended Chris's Career and Life. Why ALL men AND those who DON'T identify as "Male" need to get behind in supporting men's mental health initiatives. Dying to Live! How to Face Death with Radical PresenceThis one is hard. This is Boysen Hodgson, co-host of the ManKind Podcast, today with a conversation about death and dying, with my dear friend, Michael Russer. Now Michael has been on the podcast before. You can hear from him in Episode 31, ‘How to Create Extraordinary Intimacy' … Michael has been my colleague, friend, and right hand ‘get shit done' guy for many years. He's an entrepreneur, author, speaker, and a thinker and leader in creating extraordinary intimacy in the face of hardship, including his long battle with prostate cancer. Michael is dying. Brandon Clift and I got together with Michael to talk about living with extraordinary presence and facing life, and death, with dignity … focused on what matters. In somewhat of a tradition … I wrote some poetry for Michael to go with this episode.I'll read that … and then we'll dive in. In this episode, the three of us start out with a check in, in true men's work fashion. Thank you for listening. Dr. Kay Bretz, a German-Australian corporate leader, elite athlete, entrepreneur and author of the inspirational book 'Turning Right – Inspire the Magic'. After earning a master's degree in International Business and getting awarded a doctorate in European Law in record time, Kay has worked in more than a dozen countries as a McKinsey consultant.During his time as a corporate leader, he pursued his passion for long-distance running and learned to master the mental game. Kay stepped up from hobby marathon running to becoming one of the fastest ultramarathon runners worldwide. In his first year of ultrarunning in 2015, he improved the race record of the 250-kilometre-long Big Red Run by more than five hours. Then he joined the Australian national team in the 24-hour running format and became the fastest-ever Australian at the world championships, clocking 259.67 kilometres within 24 hours. In 2019 he got awarded the Australian Ultraperformance of the Year Award. The pivotal moment unravelling his personal transformation was a simple right turn at his garden gate. Accidently, one day Kay turned right and realised that he had never turned right at that juncture. Too much was he caught up in his need for predictability, clinging to discipline and self-control. Turning right made him realise that there was a world out there waiting for him to explore, so – metaphorically speaking – Kay started turning right more often embracing uncertainty. Over this journey he learned how to leave behind the limitations he placed on himself which prevented him from overcoming his biggest challenges and reaching his dreams. His entire perspective on what he was capable of shifted, resulting not only in performance jump but also deeper fulfillment.Links To Find Out More About Kay: Website: https://turningright.com/The Book: https://turningright.com/award-winning-bookSupport the showAdditional Resources: Subscribe/Rate/Review on iTunes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: >>>HEREEnroll Here
