Postpartum is such a significant time of change, adaptation, and bonding. It can also be a stressful, sleepless, and emotional time. I encourage you, if you're pregnant or hope to be, spend some time thinking through what you want the first 8 weeks postpartum to look like. If you're already postpartum, I would also encourage you to prioritize rest moving forward. And if you're beyond postpartum, consider how you might encourage or provide care/meals/rest for a new mom that you know.

Let's talk about “Imposter Syndrome,” shall we? While I admittedly am not a huge fan of that term, it serves to spark recognition in others who experience a form of self-doubt that is incredibly pervasive and insidious - especially for intuitives, empaths, and healers. As a case study, I share my personal story of navigating imposter syndrome throughout my life, how it manifested in different stages, and what it took to finally move through my biggest blocks around it and finally speak my Truth consistently and confidently.  I cover how imposter syndrome can lead to procrastination and chronic anxiety, draining one's mental and emotional energy, the importance of building discernment of the various voices in our head, and the multidimensional roots of this common phenomenon. I also share some of my favorite resources for navigating our shadows, including the Gene Keys & the art of contemplation for transformation - giving specific examples of working with this incredible system within my own life. Ultimately, imposter syndrome (or phenomenon) is an invitation to engage with a profound process of personal evolution and collective healing - if we recognize it and lean in.  Join us for the “Free to Be All Of Me” Workshop if you're ready to move through perfectionism and “imposter syndrome”! Jennifer Robertson joins us today as we're digging into lessons learned from the fertility journey. If someone told me there were valuable life lessons I would learn from the fertility journey – when I was right in the middle of the struggle – I probably would have told them where to go. And it may be easy to share these lessons when we’re on the other side of the journey but we share them because maybe you can see some of yourself in our story. What I know for sure is this journey will force us to look at the hard stuff like impatience, our controlling nature, our need to plan it all out, the frustration when it doesn't go the way we imagined, and heartbreak month after month. Most women tell me one of the most painful parts of the TTC journey is the overwhelming feeling that we’re behind as everyone else moves forward with their lives. We can let this journey consume us or we can begin to reframe it so we can visualize a positive outcome. If you can see your patterns that are the first step towards changing the story (after all you are not the voice in your head). So how do we move forward on our own terms so that we can feel empowered and hopeful as we prepare for pregnancy success? Jennifer Robertson joins us today! Jennifer is a fertility coach and has helped women all over the world transform their mindset and take back control of their life in the midst of infertility. She is the author of The Injustice of Infertility, a true account of her own seven-year fertility journey. In this episode you'll learn: 1) The biggest lessons learned from the journey so that you don’t waste time doing the wrong things that don’t get you closer to pregnancy success. 2) Why this journey is so hard and all-consuming and how to realize you are NOT your fertility journey. 3) What do if you have a picture in your head of how you would conceive your baby and now it is completely different? 4) What happens when we don’t grieve and why confronting our fears and hard emotions allow us to take back control. 5) Steps to move forward so that we can approach this journey on our own terms. ---- Download a free chapter of - The Injustice Of Infertility - https://www.jenniferrobertson.co/pl/232854 ---- TIMESTAMPS: 05:01- INTRO TO TODAY'S EPISODE AND JENNIFER ROBERTSON’S BIO   05:55- JENNIFER’S FERTILITY STORY Miscarriages, IVF’s, journey in surrogacy    09:44- INTRO TO LESSONS LEARNED IN THE FERTILITY JOURNEY   10:45- THE GRIEF AND TRAUMA OF INFERTILITY Feeling like you need to “suck it up” and are a failure The reality and weight of the fertility journey “If you view it as trauma, it is.”       14:28- THE ROLE OF PERSONALITY AND BEING “TYPE-A” The belief that “working harder” only is what gives you results   “You are not producing a baby, you are creating a baby.”   “There is so much extra power in slowing down.”     Letting go of control in uncertain circumstances. MY TOP RESOURCES FOR ENTREPRENEURS. I can't tell you how often I get asked about books, courses, and resources in general for humans starting or running a business. This episode is about to blow your freaking mind if that's you. Imma list off and break down all my favorite courses for building an online business. As well as resources for possible specific pieces of that business like podcasting, email, blogging & brand deals, launches, creating PDF's and content, websites, Instagram, handling legal stuff and money. Over the past five years I've learned a lot via trial and error and self research, as well asfrom taking courses from people who know how to do what I want to do. Today I'm sharing literally everything I can think of with you. I seriously have so many things and resources that I wish I knew about earlier in business. So grab a pen and paper because I'm unloading on you in 3...2...1. Let's start off with courses you can purchase. These will cover several different areas of business. I have invested in all of these and most are worth the money. I say that because I didn't need all of them necessarily. Here we go. Courses: Sam Vander Wielen's Legally Legit Ultimate Bundle This is an online course on how to set up your online business in a legally sound manner. Sam is a guest speaker inside the knowledge vault of FitsPRO Foundations as well. She covers everything from deciding to be LLC to group program terms to client contracts. You'll get templates and learn what needs to be in your contracts + how to deliver those and stick to them so that you're functioning as a legal business as well. I am currently using Sam's course to redo all of my legal docs, terms, website disclaimers and contracts. I can't say enough about this resource. Find the link to Sam's course and her free on demand workshop in the show notes. Instagram with intention Hilary Rushford This is an oldy but a goody. This course took me from feeling defeated and lost on Instagram to feeling in control and like I could make things happen. I don't know if the course has been updated or not, but I took it years ago. Like we're talking 5 years ago. Obviously a lot has changed on Instagram but I still stand by this course. That's because it teaches you about the basics. My Instagram course is significantly more in depth than this and is geared at building a brand and making money through the platform. But Hilary's course is a cheaper option and like I said, really dives deep into the basics of what sets your account apart, makes you followable, and gives you interaction tactics. If you're looking for a deeper dive, definitely checkout my Instagram 101 course that covers everything from your bio to selling in your stories and tracking engagement. Find links for both in the show notes. I've taken other Instagram courses and quite frankly they just aren't great. I will also note here that I've tried a lot of planning apps for IG and don't like any of them so I create my grid in canva and then keep my captions in my notes app. And I use Lightroom to edit my photos. Starting a podcast - Pat Flynn (sent to me by Taylor Gage of She Thrives) I used and recommend his free three part series on how to start a podcast. He also has a full on course but the free three part series was literally perfect if you're just starting out. You'll go over naming the podcast, making the image, equipment, how to actually record, what software you need, where to host a podcast, how to edit, save, upload, format and schedule the podcast. Just all of the things. It was a serious life saver for me. So many people just said “well you just start it” when I'd ask about how to actually have a podcast. No TINA, that answer is false and there is a shit ton that goes into starting and launching a podcast. Thank you. Take Pat's free situation. Link in show notes. Launching - Isabella Silverio's Rocket Launcher Lab

Recently, this topic came up in a conversation about how joy is power.  Think about that for a moment.  When we feel joy, it is hard for negativity to take hold and bring us down.  Applying this to our working life first, when we smile and feel good the effect seeps into every aspect of our day.  Conversely if we are feeling frustrated, small things can make us self-doubt and feel less than about ourselves.  I started this podcast to help empower marketers-specifically women in our industry who are looking for more-opportunities, expanding your network, gaining visibility with leaders in your organization, getting promoted and finding confidence.  Here is a real-world situation: Imagine you are in a meeting, and there is an opportunity to voice your idea but a colleague seizes the moment and you miss out.  Our body language and demeanor can quickly give away how we are feeling inside-and naturally it is more the opposite of joy-anxiety, sadness, self-doubt can start whispering in you ear.  The next time the opportunity comes your way-it may be easier to just say nothing instead of subjecting yourself to those feelings. Now-take that same scenario and close your eyes.  As you enter the room-you have a smile on your face.  It actually makes you stand a little taller and you feel confident.  While others are speaking, you smile in appreciation of their comments.  And when it is your turn to express that idea, you feel confident and without hesitation.  If the colleague mentioned earlier tries to cut you off, you maintain that smile and ask that you are afforded the chance to finish your idea. Same situation-but the outcome will be vastly different.  In the second one- you find that you are in control-because you have chosen your own joy.  No matter how awesome your workplace is, there will always be at some point a situation that can pop the happiness bubble and move you from feeling on top of the world to not so great. Now you may start to say-yes but I have reasons for not feeling happy at this moment.  I am sure this can be true.  But if any of us want to advance our careers, change perceptions or improve our health-we need to tap into joy, hold on to it, and the next part is super important-send it back out into the world. For busy marketers, it is easy to get lost in the tasks of it all and miss the chance to hone the joy effect in your daily practice.  Don’t get me wrong-I don’t always feel joyful.  But I have observed that this idea of happiness has a direct correlation to success and to achieve it, we need tools to stay on track.  And once we express this joy at work, it will spill over into our personal lives.  There are traps that can cause us to not find our joy. And many physical and physiological things that can also impact how we are able to process positivity.  So, what can we do to stay on track and gear up for the last two months of the year if you are listening to this episode when it releases it is the beginning of November.  Depending on where you live, the weather has turned colder, there is less sun and it can also impact how we feel. 10 Ways to Add Joy and Build Your Personal Power Get enough sleep. One of the first physical ways we can lose our happiness is when we are simply over-tired.  Roll back the bedtime commitment and get 7 hours minimally of sleep.  Think about when you are exhausted how easy it is to feel short and frustrated-and when you feel rested.  You may say-everyone knows now that sleep is one of the number ways to maintain health-but are you getting enough?  Most of us get less than 7 hours, or it is intermittent.  I have a sleep hack to share-the app AAPTIV actually has sleep meditations. I use it almost every night either going to sleep or when I can’t sleep. Express gratitude. Every day, I write 5 things I am grateful for in my Start today Journal.  Rachel Hollis has these journals-link in the show notes and I can honestly say it is not only a dream maker but the gratitude fills up the cup.  Rachel suggests the things we write should be small-it can be someone opening the door for you when your arms are full to giving up a seat on public transit when you were tired. Be thoughtful. My favorite quote is by Maya Angelou-People will forget what you say, they will forget what you do, but they will never forget how you made them feel.  I personally get way more joy out of giving than receiving.  It is something I try to incorporate always to help lift others up.  Especially if I am having a difficult day-I try to do something for someone-either a stranger or it can be someone I know. Start the morning fresh. Resist starting your day on your phone. I know.  This is one I have to work at-and am not always good at.  But in a previous episode 15, I talked about productivity.  When we feel less productive, it has a direct impact on how we feel-and less joyful. Just say no. It is so tempting to say yes when someone asks for help.  I am very guilty of over extending and wanting to do things beyond time constraints.  I now say “Does this give me joy?” Make your self-care a priority. Rachel Hollis has a 5 to Thrive strategy that is very effective.  I encourage anyone listening to try it and see how it goes: Drink at least half of your body weight in water Work out at least 30 minutes every day Get up 30 minutes early Give up one food for 30 days-sugar for example or something you know isn’t serving you. Express gratitude every day Check out The Hollisco.com for these and many more tips like #last90days Make sure you are balanced. This is just for our women listeners-but if you are feeling out of sorts it could be hormones, low vitamin D, Thyroid or other things that happen to us and if untreated can lead to more serious illness.  When we don’t feel our best it definitely impacts how we express ourselves at home and work. Do one thing every day that makes you smile. It can be looking at YouTube and laughing at a funny video.  I will share with you here a video about what it is like to be on a conference call-link in the show notes.  Makes me laugh every time. Take time out in the day to breath fully. We hold our breath and it can have adverse effects on how we feel. Smile even when you don’t feel like it. Walking into a tense meeting, your inclination may be to shrink down, sit with your legs crossed and shoulders down.  Smile, visualize joy, imagine you are in a place that makes you feel happy and express yourself to others in this light. As with every episode, if you found this information helpful, reach out to me.  I love hearing from you and am honored to help you in your journey. In this episode I share some of my thoughts on learning to read.I'm a proponent of letting go of arbitrary ages to teach reading and waiting until a child is ready and motivated whether that might be age 4 or 7 or 10. Don't push it. Wait until the are interested, ready, and motivated. One thing you can do at any and all ages is to read a loud. Read to your infants, your toddlers, and all ages of kids. Read daily in some format, it doesn't have to be hours. Even reading just at bedtime is important. Audio books can be a good resource as well. Another important key is to make books and reading a part of your daily life and home. Be a role model for your kids and letting them see you reading and seeing books in your space is important for kids to see that books are a valuable part of life.Resources:-Video for learning the letters and their sounds: Leapfrog Letter Factory-Beginning phonics readers: Bob Books and my all time favorite-Now I'm Reading by Nora Gaydos. Each of these series have multiple levels.-Explode the Code series is a phonics workbook that I've used for 4 children.-Two on line programs we've used are Starfall and Reading EggsI don't have a schedule or specific guide to use these resources. While we do sit down and do work daily, there is no set amount of time or number of lessons. It just depends on each child what they can handle. As an additional resource I would encourage anyone to listen to Reading: What Every Parent Needs to Know by Julie Bogart. Julie is a long time homeschool mentor of mine and this video is very helpful in thinking about your child and their needs in learning to read.Send me comments, suggestions for episodes, or questions to outsidethelinespodcast@gmail.comFind me on FB where I post articles, encouragement, and relevant resourceshttps://www.facebook.com/learningoutsidethelinespodcast/or www.learningoutsidethelines.comThanks for listening!(Full Disclosure: Amazon links are affiliate links and I receive a small percentage of the sale if you choose to purchase thru the link, however, the price is the same regardless!) We talk about some of the unique characteristics that have contributed to helping me expand as a person, coach, and host. Some of the central themes identified by Pawel included creativity, exploring, questioning, listening, and coaching. We then talk about how these 5 elements get incorporated into my movement practice, relationships, personal development, and self expression through conscious and persistent effort. My favorite part of Pawel's description is that this all happens while being vulnerable and breaking a few rules along the way. *Originally posted on: Uncharted Performance Show Notes: Start – 0:20 – Body Awareness 0:21 – 3:00 – Opening And Introducing Misbah Haque 3:01 – 7:51 – Topless In Beanies 7:52 – 14:02 – Process of Change 14:03 – 20:37 – Creativity, Listening, Coaching And Talking 20:38 – 32:16 – Persistence, Identity And Torture 32:17 – 46:53 – Challenges And Rituals To Promote Growth 46:54 – 50:58 – Favorite Resources 50:59 – 54:15 – Airborne Mind 54:16 – 1:01:28 – 20 Questions 1:01:29 – 1:03:19 – Where To Find The Airborne Mind And Misbah 1:03:20 – End – Outro Resources we may have talked about: Joe Rogan Podcast Conversations With God by Neale Walsch I Can’t Make This Up by Kevin Hart Linchpin by Seth Godin Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss Fear Setting by Tim Ferriss How you can connect w/ Pawel and Uncharted Performance: http://unchartedperformance.com YouTube: unchartedperformance Instagram: unchartedperformance Facebook: ReachTheUncharted Twitter: ReachUncharted This episode is brought to you by Revive-Rx. Have you ever wondered how things works in Procurement?   Therese Marzocchi Jardine, Senior Vendor Account Manager with Microsoft Events and Studios demystifies sourcing, procurement and purchasing in this week’s interview.  She also gives a snapshot into how to effectively write and manage an RFP, what not to do when responding to an RFP and how Microsoft preserves their brand at events. In large organizations, Procurement and Purchasing have very different roles.  If you think of ordering products, Purchasing is the group that is the inventory buyer.  Procurement on the other hand, is strategic within an organization and is a resource for marketing and other areas.  Therese shares how Procurement supports stakeholders with what she calls six pillars of procurement outlined below. 6 Ways Procurement Helps Stakeholders Achieve Success Strategic Sourcing-evaluate different suppliers and includes them on a roster to for stakeholders to choose from. Help to drive RFP and RFI-develop the questions and input them in a platform like Ariba. Supplier Relationship Management- compliance with privacy, manage the MSA process, verify that that companies are credit worthy Mitigate risk-work on policy compliance and look for areas on contract that may pose a risk Active role in Purchasing Payment Solutions-oversee a project is submitted for payment Special Programs Management- vendor sourcing and more specialized skill set for unique projects If you are preparing an RFP, Therese shares important tips to remember: “The point of the RFP is to get the best response to the questions.”              -Therese Jardine 5 Key Things to Consider When Creating an RFP Pair it down to what you need to know-Think about what you need to know to make your program successful-“do you care how many employees they have?” Put together a good scope of work-provide as much detail to the bidders as possible so they fully understand the details of the project. Limit questions to 3 or 4 total. If you have a good scope of work the number of questions should be very short.  Here is an example “Give me one or more examples of events that you have supported and your top three learnings.” The weight of a question is dictated by the scope of the project. It is more about the feedback of how questions are answered and the event details and what is needed than the actual number assigned to a question. For Suppliers:Answer the question in the question-restate where question is asked don’t reference back to other questions Power Tip: Do not request Financial Statements in an RFP.  Part of Procurement Supplier Relationship is to make sure the supplier is credit worthy before they receive an RFI or RFP. If you are new to events, or on the procurement side of the business-Therese has these tips everyone should know about hosting an event. Three Things You Need To Know About Hosting Events The good news is this is a relationship business. The bad news it is a relationship business. In events, we shake hands once and hug forever more. “There is no bacon like show bacon”. If you are hosting an event and find there is a satisfaction problem with the food-increase the amount of bacon.  There is a myth that show bacon tastes better- check it out at your next event there is usually more than one kind of bacon served at an event-crispy, softer, hickory smoked etc. Show Bacon Facebook Page You can find Therese Marzocchi Jardine on LinkedIn - LinkedIn Tip-state why you are interested in connecting don’t send a generic request. Microsoft Events-find out more about all of events both hosted by Microsoft and where they will be at trade shows.
