Ein paar Worte zu Stoffwechseldiäten: Stoffwechseldiäten sind ja total im Trend, oder? Da behaupten sie, den Stoffwechsel auf Hochtouren zu bringen und somit das Abnehmen zu erleichtern. Aber wisst ihr was? Es gibt kaum wissenschaftliche Beweise dafür, dass sie auf Dauer wirklich funktionieren. Deshalb ist es wichtig, sich da nicht zu sehr drauf zu verlassen und vielleicht doch lieber einen Profi zu Rate zu ziehen. Es gibt so einige Arten von Stoffwechseldiäten da draußen. Zum Beispiel: Low-Carb-Diäten: Die setzen vor allem auf wenig Kohlenhydrate und dafür mehr Proteine und gesunde Fette. Das soll den Blutzuckerspiegel stabil halten und die Fettverbrennung ankurbeln. High-Protein-Diäten: Da dreht sich alles um viel Protein, also Fleisch, Fisch, Eier und Milchprodukte. Die sind schwerer zu verdauen und verbrauchen mehr Energie, was wiederum den Stoffwechsel pushen kann. Intervallfasten: Hier wechselt man zwischen Essens- und Fastenphasen. Der Körper greift dann auf seine Fettreserven zurück, was den Stoffwechsel ankurbelt und die Pfunde purzeln lässt. Ich bin mega neugierig, wie sich das alles entwickelt und was Frau Dr. Kielkowsiki dazu sagt. Schließlich habe ich auch ein paar Fragen im Gepäck, die dringend geklärt werden müssen. Was meint ihr?! However, he knew there were missing pieces of the puzzle that could help impact people's health. Brian realized that nutrition and meal timing are huge aspects of health. [06:35] Step Number One: Creating Clarity and Set Your Baseline Where are you starting from? Brian likes to use a DEXA scan. A DEXA scan is an imaging test that measures bone density (strength). A lot of people think they can just weigh themselves. However, weight is just a small part of what you should be focusing on. Instead, you want to think about your bone mass, fat mass, and how your clothes are fitting. Next, you want to get crystal clear on your “why.” [11:35] Step Number Two: Small Changes and Big Results Masterplan Identify the low-hanging fruits. What can make the biggest impact right away? People get discouraged if they don't get small wins. So, focus on some low-hanging fruit that can make a big impact. Then, you can move on to other things that can optimize your health. For example, cutting alcohol can be one of those low-hanging fruits. [13:55] Step Number Three: Activity Upgrade Brian is a huge fan of variable resistance training. He loves the X3 Program. Plus, if you don't exercise at all, going outside and taking steps every day is a great way to upgrade your activity. [17:45] Step Number Four: Sleep Like a Superhero Game Plan You should build a simple, manageable routine around sleep. Prioritizing sleep is one of the first steps you should take. If you don't have a solid sleep routine, you can throw everything else out the window around health. Brian is a fan of WHOOP for tracking his sleep. Also, you don't want to be in fight or flight mode all day. Night meditation is a great way to end the day. Focus on clearing and calming your mind. That way, you will be in a good mindset for your sleep. [27:00] Step Number Six: Nutrition and Meal Timing Clean up your eating and get fat-adapted. Lowering your carbs can help you get off the glucose roller coaster. Down the road, you can cut the number of meals you eat each day. Once you wrap your arms around nutrition, then you can start to look at fasting. Especially in women who have had a history with antibiotics from an early age, 10+ years of birth control pill use, and poor (refined carbohydrate/sugar) diet? I'm learning that poor liver function doesn't allow for proper filtration for various bodily functions and it dawned on me that there might be a connection between the two. Thank you for everything you do. I am 25 years old and live in the UK. I recently lost my dad and have suffered from central nervous system fatigue for over a year and a half. I have my diet dialled in - vegetables, healthy fats, fish etc, only walk as more causes greater fatigue and heart palpates and body shaking, I use a sauna daily and practise calming rituals like meditation. However I feel like my body is broken and do not know what else I can do. Doctors don't seem to want to help me and I am struggling to live my life. Thank you, Damian Shannon: Hi Dr Cabral. I'm starting week 2 of my 21 day detox. I'm struggling with the food list, as a lot of the foods listed are inflammatory causing (beans,lentils,hummus, asparagus,celery,garlic,shallot/onion,beets,snow peas,mushrooms,Brussels sprouts,artichoke,cauliflower, etc). I'm really confused how this detox is supposed to help people who have gut issues? Before starting the detox I had been following the FODMAP diet, eliminating all foods that cause inflammation. I felt relief and improvements, but also needed to go deeper with my healing. Now I'm incorporating all those foods back into my diet. My stomach is more bloated, gassy and I'm experiencing diarrhea. I thought perhaps the diarrhea was part of the detox? My sleep only improved on the 2 fasted days during the 1st week of detox. I'm still fatigued, not feeling any gut relief or losing weight. I'm not currently taking any supplements, only the shakes and detox pills. I've done your Candida/Metabolic, Minerals/Metals, Omega-3/Inflammation tests but I'm waiting for my results. I thought I'd get a jump start on detoxing and was planning on starting the CBO protocol after. I'm starting to question if I should stop this detox? Please share your thoughts and if this is normal? I can really use some help with supporting my children's health. I have two girls who just turned six and seven. And they are constantly getting sick of something. I feel like I do all the right things which is give them vitamins, make sure they're drinking enough water, make sure they're eating healthy food, getting outside, being active. But unfortunately they still get sick very frequently.
