Your labs came back normal — so why do you still feel terrible? If you've ever been handed a clean bill of health while your body is screaming something is wrong, you're not imagining it. You're being failed by a yardstick built for sick people. Today on Health Talk America, Dr. Adam Brockman is pulling back the curtain on one of the most dangerous phrases in modern medicine — "Your labs are normal"— and exposing the hidden markers of chronic inflammation your doctor isn't ordering, but absolutely should be. The fire inside you has a name. It's time to find it before it finds you.Special Guest: Larry Logsdon, Functional Food Researcher and Founder ofTahitiTrader.com

Most people treat sleep like something that happens to them. Dr. Michael Breus, aka The Sleep Doctor, treats it like a system — one that can be built, optimized, and recovered no matter how badly you've abused it. In Part 2, Dwayne and Dr. Breus move from theory into full practice: the single morning habit that regulates your entire sleep schedule, the truth about supplements and peptides, and why a 78-year-old entrepreneur taking four different drugs to get through the day became drug-free in two weeks and now more productive than his staff can handle. In this episode: The one rule that regulates your entire sleep schedule The three-15s morning routine: 15 deep breaths, 15 ounces of water, and 15 minutes of direct sunlight within 20 minutes of waking — and why vitamin D is a circadian pacemaker The supplement framework most people get completely wrong Dr. Breus's unambiguous position on peptides: lab-use-only compounds are being injected by people who have no idea what the 10 or 20-year consequences are, and the only thing he's ever found that he cannot fix without medication or intervention is physical pain and major mental health issues How Dr. Breus accidentally became The Sleep Doctor: rejected from his first-choice sports psychology program, he sold himself into a sleep track, fell in love with clinical sleep medicine, and never looked back — "You change somebody's sleep, you change their life." You cannot pay attention to anything if you're not well-slept. ADD, ADHD gets worse when you're not well-slept. You can't focus. Everything depe- this is why sleep is so fundamental to life, is because it's, it literally dictates what you look at, what you focus on, and where you spend your time. Your eyes might be revealing metabolic disease long before your doctor catches it in bloodwork — and most people have no idea. In this episode, Dr. Vera Tarman sits down with Dr. Radka Toms, ophthalmologist, functional medicine practitioner, and founder of My Sugar Stop, to explore the fascinating and largely unknown connection between sugar, gut health, and your vision. Dr. Toms shares her own story — from a "hardcore conventional doctor" eating chocolate bars for lunch to developing rosacea and insulin resistance and eventually pioneering the field of nutritional ophthalmology. Ben Hartman is back for his third visit to the PricePlow Podcast in Episode #221, and Morphogen Nutrition has never been in a stronger position. Ben walks through everything: the second rebrand’s full backstory, a never-before-told story about a failed acquisition that nearly sold the company, the financial reckoning that followed, and how selling the building and moving to a 3PL model finally cleared the slate. He calls this the best formula work Morphogen has ever done, at the healthiest margins in company history. The conversation covers AlphaGEN’s return to 10g L-Tyrosine, why PRIME is the anchor of the entire health line, details like how he navigates AstraGin® and BioPerine® across a multi-product stack, and the surprising origin of CALM. Then comes the main event: the Nick Walker equity partnership, explained in full, including some of the financial structure the internet has been speculating about. The episode closes with a frank look at the longevity wave ahead, the natural-vs.-enhanced debate, and a nostalgic look back at the golden age of stimulants. This episode started with a question I get constantly. Why is my routine not working anymore? The products are good. The consistency is there. But the skin is not responding the way it used to. More dullness. More puffiness. More fine lines despite the retinol. Here is what most of the skincare conversation is missing: your skin is not a surface problem. It is an output. A real-time signal of what is happening inside your hormonal system. And your bloodwork is the decoder. In this episode, I walk through four specific lab markers that directly control what your menopause skin does: estrogen, free T3, cortisol, and ferritin. Each one maps to a skin symptom you are probably already seeing in the mirror. Dryness and collagen loss. Estrogen. Stubborn dullness that no exfoliant fixes. Free T3. Fine lines that retinol cannot hold. Cortisol. Dark circles that no eye cream touches. Ferritin. These are not random. They are specific. And once you know what to look for, you stop blaming your products and start asking better questions. Your hormones are the primer. Your products are the paint. Paint on an unprimed surface looks beautiful for a day and then lifts. That is exactly what is happening for a lot of women in menopause, and it has nothing to do with the products they chose. This episode is the overview. The in-depth version, with the specific markers to request, what optimal ranges look like for skin health, and how to build a recalibration protocol around your results, lives inside the Skin Scholar Society on Substack. The Skin Scholar Society is where I publish the research, the protocols, and the education that goes deeper than a single episode can hold. If you are ready to stop guessing and start working with your biology, that is the place to be. This podcast is listener-supported. But there is a critical, often overlooked window into our body's internal workings that tells us exactly how those efforts are paying off: regular blood work.In this episode, I dive deep into the world of biomarkers and explore why tracking these numbers is the most powerful tool we have for detecting potential health issues before they ever show physical symptoms.I break down what is actually being measured in standard lipid and metabolic panels, debunk common misconceptions about “optimal” cholesterol levels, and look at the real-life numbers from my own recent blood work for reference. Whether you are curious about how a plant-based diet impacts your numbers or want to know which hidden tests you need to request at your next checkup, this episode serves as your comprehensive guide to owning your health.CAMBODIA 2027: Join me on an unforgettable journey from the breathtaking temples of Angkor to the vibrant streets of Phnom Penh. No vegetables, no fruit, no fiber, no carbs. Then he tested everything. His cholesterol numbers would have sent most doctors into a panic. His total cholesterol hit 434. His LDL hit 350. But when one of the world's top heart surgeons reviewed the full panel, the verdict was clear: his cardiovascular risk had actually improved. Then the gut results came in. After 90 days of zero plants and zero fiber, his gut microbiome diversity went up. Not down. Up. In this episode, Ben walks through everything: the adaptation period, the body composition changes, the full blood work breakdown with board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Philip Ovadia, the gut microbiome reveal with Dr. Will DiPaolo and Dr. Daniel Pompa, and what the science actually says about cholesterol, red meat, and the human body. If you've ever been told that saturated fat will kill you, that LDL is the enemy, or that you need fiber to have a healthy gut, this episode will make you question all of it. Key takeaways: Lost 16 pounds and 6% body fat in 60 days Heart rate variability, sleep quality, and glucose all improved Triglyceride-to-HDL ratio hit 1.0, a marker of near-zero insulin resistance Gut diversity, keystone bacteria, and core bacteria all increased on zero plants LDL on its own is one of the worst predictors of actual cardiovascular risk Find All The Ben Azadi Show Sponsorship Deals https://www.ketokamp.com/sponsorship-deals Learn more about your ad choices. A Parenting Resource for Children’s Behavior and Mental Health
Something feels off even when tests come back normal. Discover the hidden signs of PANS/PANDAS every parent misses as Dr. Nancy O'Hara unpacks sudden symptoms often mistaken for ADHD, anxiety, or autism. Dr. Roseann Capanna-Hodge, expert in Regulation First Parenting™, guides parents through emotional dysregulation and what to do next.Parents often know something is wrong—even when tests come back “normal.” In this powerful conversation with Dr. Nancy O'Hara, we explore the hidden signs of PANS/PANDAS every parent misses, and why so many children are misdiagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, or even autism. The truth? Sudden behavioral shifts, OCD, and physical symptoms may signal immune-driven brain inflammation—not “just behavior.” In this episode, you'll learn what PANS/PANDAS really is, how it affects the brain, and the overlooked signs parents and providers often miss. Why did my child suddenly change behavior overnight? When a child shifts abruptly—from calm to anxious, obsessive, or emotionally reactive—it can feel confusing and scary for parents.Dr. O'Hara explains that this sudden onset is a key marker of PANS/PANDAS, often triggered by infection or immune dysregulation. What parents should know:Sudden onset matters—changes can happen within days to weeksOCD, anxiety, or eating changes may appear quicklyIt's not bad parenting—it's a dysregulated immune responseTriggers may include strep, viruses, mold, or environmental stressorsReal-Life Example: A child who was once easygoing suddenly develops intense fears, refuses foods, or becomes highly anxious after an illness. As I always remind parents, behavior is communication—and sudden shifts deserve deeper investigation. Is OCD in kids always obvious—or can it be hidden? One of the most missed signs of PANS/PANDAS is hidden OCD, especially intrusive thoughts that don't look like typical compulsions.Dr. O'Hara emphasizes that many children suffer silently.Hidden OCD signs include:Intrusive, scary thoughts they can't explainWithdrawal, shutdown, or emotional overwhelmAvoidance of situations without clear reasonShame or embarrassment about thoughtsA child seems “anxious about everything,” but underneath is a looping fear they can't verbalize. This is where misdiagnosis often happens. It may look like generalized anxiety or even ADHD—but it's actually neurological inflammation affecting the brain's fear circuits.Let's be clear: your child is not choosing this. Their brain is overwhelmed. Why are medical tests normal if my child is struggling so much? This is one of the most frustrating experiences for parents—being told everything is “fine” when it clearly isn't.Dr. O'Hara explains that PANS/PANDAS is primarily a clinical diagnosis, not a lab-based one.Key insights:Bloodwork can look completely normalSome children cannot mount detectable immune responsesInflammation may still be present in the brainDiagnosis relies heavily on pattern recognition + historyReal-Life Example: A child with severe behavioral changes has “normal labs,” leading families to feel dismissed—despite clear real-world impairment. This is where validation matters. You're not imagining it.You don't have to figure this out alone.Become a Dysregulation Insider VIP and get your FREE Regulation Rescue Kit:How to Stay Calm When Your Child Pushes Your Buttons and Stop Oppositional Behaviors.Head to www.drroseann.com/newsletter and start your calm parenting journey today. What physical symptoms are easy to miss in PANS/PANDAS?Parents often focus on behavior and miss the body-based clues.Dr. O'Hara highlights that somatic symptoms are frequently overlooked—but incredibly important.Common missed signs:Urinary frequency or urgencyBedwetting after being drySleep disturbances or restless sleepHandwriting changes or regressionSensory overload or motor changesReal-Life Example: A child begins waking frequently at night and having bathroom accidents alongside new anxiety. These symptoms reflect nervous system dysregulation—not defiance or regression without cause.

Supplements Aren't the Answer: Exercise, Blood Work, and the NAD Hype Jason Wright, co-founder and CEO of Authentic Health Partners, explains why he gets frustrated when people ask what supplements to take before addressing basics like exercise, sleep, hydration, diet, stress, and relationships. Using questions about NAD (often via NR/NMN precursors or injections) as the catalyst, he says there's no panacea and nothing will outperform movement, sunshine, and avoiding over-nourishment; he notes calorie restriction is strongly correlated with longevity in studies but not proven causal. He describes Huberman's NAD use as anecdotal and cautions against copying a “one person study” without considering the full lifestyle context and overall cellular health. Wright recommends getting blood work, consulting a physician, doing research (including randomized controlled trials), and keeping supplementation simple; personally he takes his company's foundational stack plus creatine and glutathione, and warns GLP-1 users about under-nourishing and losing muscle. 00:00 Why Supplements Trigger Me 01:52 Fix The Basics First 04:09 Longevity Talk Calorie Restriction 05:55 NAD Explained And The Hype 08:49 Huberman N Of One Reality 12:32 How I Answer NAD Questions 16:02 What I Actually Take Daily 17:28 Cell Health Car Engine Analogy 22:21 No Panacea Holistic Health 23:47 GLP 1 Caution And Muscle Loss 25:47 Do Your Homework Closing 27:42 Medical Disclaimer
Your labs came back clean. This episode is for that specific situation. It's far more common among high-performing executives and founders than most people realize.Julian walks through exactly how he thinks about it: why standard blood work can't see what's actually happening, the four layers he maps before ordering a single test, and the phased approach he uses to create clarity before adding anything new. Caffeine vs Paraxanthine, Sleep Quality, and Common Lifter Maladies (Injuries, Blood Work, Apnea, Aging) On Iron Radio, hosts Coach Phil Stevens and Dr. Lonnie Lowery (with Dr. Mike Nelson traveling) discuss a 2026 JISSN study on caffeine and its main metabolite paraxanthine in 14 male university rowers, finding the caffeine+paraxanthine combo improved 2,000m rowing performance versus placebo while caffeine-containing conditions worsened subjective sleep; they note key limitations including small sample size, subjective sleep measures, and unequal dosing (200 mg caffeine + 200 mg paraxanthine vs 200 mg of either alone). They then shift to “lifter maladies,” focusing on orthopedic issues (Phil's MCL tear and training through injury), blood work and cholesterol swings, and the role of athlete compliance and monitoring versus gen pop. You run every test your doctor orders. They all come back fine. But fine compared to who? Compared to the average person, that's anything but healthy. That's the problem Jeffrey Gaal has spent decades thinking about. Through his work at Genetic LifeSpan, he's leading the charge to move people away from outdated benchmarks and into a new era of testing that shows what's happening inside the cell.Jeffrey walks us through the AgeCode test, which combines genetic predisposition, methylation epigenetics, and intracellular micronutrient data into a 120-page report covering biological age, pace of aging, and 11 key organ systems. The conversation digs into why a vitamin D reading of 95 can still mean you're critically low at the cellular level, why most of modern medicine is sick care wearing a healthcare label, and why discernment is the greatest gift any of us has."We don't have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system. We are in the disease management business. We are not in getting people well." ~ Jeffrey GaalSupport the show and get 50% off MCT oil with free shipping—just leave us a review on iTunes and Spotify and let us know! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/live-beyond-the-norms/id1714886566Resources Mentioned AgeCode by Genetic LifeSpan: https://www.geneticlifespan.com/ About Jeffrey GaalJeffrey Gaal is the co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Genetic LifeSpan, a biotechnology company pioneering personalized medicine through epigenetics and genomic science. Hey Heal Squad! This week's episode is all about Maria's unexpected wins… the small shifts that ended up making a surprisingly big impact. Some are simple (wait till you hear her bathroom curtain idea!), but every one of them proves how powerful a few intentional lifestyle tweaks can be. First up, after recent blood work, Maria realized both she and her dad saw major improvements (like better cholesterol levels) and the common thread wasn't anything extreme… it was more sun, more time outdoors, and a calmer nervous system. Add in a few surprising sleep upgrades like a silk sleep mask that actually stays put, switching to a better pillow that eliminates neck pain overnight, and even placing a pillow under the knees for back support… and suddenly, rest and recovery felt completely different. It's a reminder that if something isn't working, it might not be you… it might just be time to switch it up. Maria also shares how to take your next party veggie board to the next level (hint: olive oil, lemon, and salt make everything shine ). And the biggest full-circle moment? Scouting the Heal Squad Day of Reset in Cape Cod, where an impromptu yoga nidra session on the beach at sunset turned into a defining “this is it” experience. The takeaway: you don't need a massive overhaul to feel better, you just need a few intentional shifts that actually work. So tell us… what worked for you this week? We'd love to hear it! We break down recovery as the real driver of strength and health, then show how chronic inflammation can quietly block progress even when training looks consistent. We connect daily signals like fatigue and resting heart rate with blood work markers so you can stop guessing and start adjusting with context. • recovery as returning to a physiological baseline across nervous system, hormones, and immune regulation • signs of poor recovery like persistent fatigue, sleep disturbances, stalled performance, elevated resting heart rate • systemic inflammation basics and why chronic inflammation harms tissue repair, hormone signalling, mitochondrial function • blood work markers to discuss with your doctor including CRP, ferritin, SHBG, free testosterone, fasting glucose, liver enzymes, vitamin D, cortisol rhythms • why free testosterone can matter more than total testosterone for performance and wellbeing • how often to test blood work and why baselines in younger years can change interpretation later • sleep as the highest priority recovery tool over cold plunges and saunas • anti-inflammatory nutrition basics including omega-3s, berries, olive oil, whole foods, less ultra-processed food and sugar • training balance with deload weeks and the principle that better is better than more • stress management tools like walks outdoors, breathwork, and optional meditation • gut health as an immune regulator and why testing beats self-diagnosing supplements • using a feedback loop with training logs, blood work, and one change at a time Check the show notes. No guests. No framework. Just the voice that comes through when Dr. G goes still enough to listen. In this special channeled episode, Dr. Christian Gonzalez closes his eyes, opens his heart, and speaks directly from the intuitive voice he uses in his most powerful one-on-one sessions — the one that makes people cry because it goes straight to the deepest wound. What came through is a message about the one thing modern medicine has almost completely forgotten: that your capacity to give and receive love is not separate from your health. It is your health. What this episode covers: • Why your cells are directly tied to your ability to love — and what shuts that down at the biological level • The real reason people stay sick, stay stuck, and stay disconnected — and the only responsibility you actually have to change it • Why no disease can live in a body that is fully in resonance with love — and what that actually means in practice If you've tried everything and still feel like something is missing — this is the episode that points to what it is. Most parents are running on empty — and no amount of supplements, bloodwork, or health hacks is fixing it. In this episode, Dr. Tony Ebel dedicates an entire conversation to parent health, revealing the number one missing test that conventional and functional medicine both overlook: HRV (Heart Rate Variability) testing. Dr. Tony breaks down the five zones of nervous system health, helps you identify exactly where you are, and gives you specific, actionable strategies for each zone — from the wound-up, hard-charging CrossFit parent all the way to the fully depleted, chronically ill parent in autonomic collapse. If you were doing something that was harmful to the health of yourself and your loved ones and had no idea what it was because it's seen as a normal, standard health practice and ritual, would you want to be informed on what it is? For your own safety and loved one's safety, would you want to know? Getting your blood drawn has pros and cons, but when handled wrongly by your health care provider, it's all cons—the blood draw indoctrination and system is all a con. As soon as you hear this information you will know how bad things really are and how important it is to know this truth. People are victims of excessive blood draws that aren't handled appropriately. It is a gross, negligent assault upon the chronically ill and women that are pregnant. Way too much blood is taken for no good reason from humankind in order to test that blood for what the doctor orders. A blood test can be done with one drop of blood, but the health system is corrupted to the point of manipulating doctors into believing large quantities of blood are needed from a patient in order to run the tests being requested. This belief is not the truth. One of the main reasons for miscarriages is that pregnant women are getting too much blood drawn and it's injuring the baby, causing death. Blood draw also weakens the immune system. Anyone who is getting blood work done, especially on a regular basis, can weaken overtime, causing worsened conditions. There are proper protective measures to take when getting your blood drawn and critical understandings that are needed to protect you and your loved ones. Get ready for this episode… In this episode… Learn how to protect yourself from the blood draw scam that's draining you of your life's reserves and lifeforce. Discover how the immune system gets weakened from blood draws and how this plays a role in sickness. Find out why your symptoms and conditions worsen because you are trapped in the blood-ordering cycle. Make sense of the truth in how the system is broken and people lose their lives getting bled to death. Learn about how, if you are pregnant, it is imperative to know how to work with your doctor when getting your blood drawn. Discover the gruesome truth of why so many miscarriages occur. Find out what steps and measures to take when you are about to get your blood drawn. Learn the before and after protocols to help recover your blood when getting bloodwork done. Find out where our blood goes after it has been harvested from humankind. All this and more, tune in and don't miss out on this important episode. You can revisit this episode anytime you need it.
