The greatest turning point in human history occurs in Romans 3:21 with two simple words: "But now." After three chapters of bad news about our sinful condition, Paul reveals God's solution through justification by faith in Christ.• All people, both Jews and Gentiles, stand condemned under sin• Paul quotes extensively from Old Testament Scripture to prove universal sinfulness• The law cannot save us; it only reveals our inability to meet God's standard• Justification comes through faith in Christ, not through our own efforts• Justification is a point-in-time event, not a process we grow into• We are completely justified the moment we trust Christ• Christians stand fully righteous before God, clothed in Christ's righteousness• Our response to justification should include rejoicing, daily remembrance, and sharing with othersIf you don't know Christ Jesus, you too can stand before the Father justified by coming to Him today. Let that justification intersect with your life today!

The past two weeks, we covered the first two C's of my conflict resolution model, which were communication and curiosity. Today, we'll cover the third C - Concern.M. Afzalur Rahim theorized in 1983 that conflict management styles existed in a spectrum, and on one axis is a concern for self, while on the other is a concern for others. Here are the five conflict management styles Rahim proposed, along with their levels of concern:Avoiding: Low concern for self; low concern for othersObliging: Low concern for self; high concern for othersDominating: High concern for self; low concern for othersCompromising: Moderate concern for self; moderate concern for othersIntegrating: High concern for self; high concern for othersIf our goal is integrating, then we must have a high level of concern for ourselves and others. With the upcoming digitalization, COVID, with the war going on, there are a lot of shortages! Shortage of materials, shortage of time, and shortage of talent. We truly live in a chaotic world and that isn't easy to handle. That's why in this episode of Rebel Leader with a Heart, I have an amazing conversation with one of the founders of Duval Union, Carole Lamarque about dealing with this uncertainty and chaos in today's fast-changing world. For more like this & free resources: https://www.qileader.com/Digitalization has been up and coming for a little while now. But still, changes and innovations in technology are made every day. This in combination with the inflation, the war in Ukraine and COVID leads to a ton of chaos and uncertainty. That's why in today's podcast, I have an amazing conversation with Carole Lamarque, the founder of Duval Union. Who is Carole?Carole has always been interested in crisis management and dealing with exponential growth. Remaining calm in the centre of a storm is what she has been doing for years on end. She says her passion for marketing defines her and she always seeks to go viral and create exponential growth. She also has written multiple books to inspire other leaders to deal with crises. What's the secret to leading in chaos?Sooooo, how the hell are we supposed to satisfy our investors and bosses with so little information? How are we supposed to keep up and not burn ourselves out in the lightning-fast times? Carole gives us four great tips for this!First of all, crises are here to stay. Our world is in a constant state of change and accepting this will make our lives so much easier. It is super important not to prepare for the previous crisis, but rather, we should understand what we can take from one crisis to another. We need to accept that we will never have all the information to make decisions. If a leader can accept that chaos is a normal part of the process, they can help their colleagues calm down and be in the right state of mind to make decisions and be innovative. Secondly, creating the habit of making and changing plans on the go is one of the most important tips great crisis managers give. It's not the ability to follow a plan that's important, but rather having the agility to adapt to and overcome uncertain situations. You should manage unexpected situations through your agility habits, not because you had a certain plan in advance.Thirdly, remember that you are never alone. You're only one element in the solution to a problem. Share your knowledge with others and don't underestimate their power to help you!And last but not least, never stop learning! Everything around us is changing all the time, so keeping up is super important. It's never too late to pick up classes or courses to learn about upcoming trends or read a good book about it.How to properly get help from othersIf you want to deal with chaos and uncertainty, you should never underestimate the help you can get from others, even if they have a different area of expertise. There are many ways of getting help from others and Carole gave me a couple of great tips. First of all, never underestimate the power of youth. What others sometimes see as naiveté, can often be a clever idea that can lead to great innovation. You also need a lot of energy in chaotic times and youngsters have plenty of that!Another great way of getting help, is to have conversations with people who have a completely different area of expertise and analyze the process they follow in uncertain times. You can often draw things from these conversations that you can apply to your work as well!I mentioned youngsters before, but that of course doesn't mean you should discard advice from more experienced persons. They have dealt with crises many times before and you can learn a lot from them as well!

Criticism is something we have all experienced in our lives at one point or another. I know I certainly have. We can be criticised for just about anything – from the relationship we are in, to the friendships we keep, to the clothes we wear, the colour or style of our hair, the work that we do, for speaking up about something we feel passionate about…the list goes on.Aristotle once said “There is only one way to avoid criticism. Do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.” I would be inclined to take this a step further and say you will even be criticised for doing nothing. So if we are going to be criticised irrespective of what we do (or don't do), we may as well do what we want.In this solo episode, you'll learn:· The importance of recognising that you are not alone, and some of the greatest change makers of our time who refused to let criticism kill their dreams· Strategies on how to respond and deal with criticism· How to stay focused on your mission and calling· Ways I've personally dealt with criticism· The power of living life for yourself, and not for othersIf you enjoy this episode and learning about strategies to keep criticism from killing your dreams, please take a moment to subscribe, rate and review the Boss in Heels Podcast on Apple Podcasts! Please also recommend the podcast to a friend, family member, colleague or someone in your network who you know would benefit from listening to these episodes. Time and time again we talk to ladies who tell  us they didn't eat during the day because they're going out tonight. They're trying to save up calories to be able to eat freely. Unfortunately it just doesn't work like that and this is one of those myths that's out in our society as if it's a gospel truth. The reality is this is the worst thing you could for any weight loss attempts. It's like some kind of reverse punishment reward where you punish yourself FIRST, then reward yourself afterwards. Don't do it! Here's what's going to happen; You're going to be tired and possibly hangry before you even go out! You might need a few drinks before you leave the house to "get you going"If you're going out for a meal you will end up choosing the highest fat/sugar option (as it will be the most satiating to your starving body) and you will think your making the best choice, eating exactly what you want to, because you "saved" caloriesYou will over-eatPudding will be a matter of life and death - again, will-power won't save youYou will be more influenced by othersIf you eat normally during the day before a big night out, you will make better choices on your night out. You can choose something you wouldn't normally have and really enjoy it. You will feel better the next day and you can get back on track. Calories can't be saved like cash - it will have a negative impact on your metabolism, your health and your wellbeing. In any business or organization, there are naturally some people who perform better than others. How does your organization focus on or identify those high-performing employees? Do you focus solely on them, and if so, does that mean there is an imbalance in the organization? It might seem like a no-brainer to spend more time and effort on high-performing workers. Many companies will have programs specifically in place to help elevate these people to senior positions. However, a common mistake that organizations make is putting their entire focus on high-performing workers. This means that most of the workforce is left without the support they need to succeed. That's what Matthew Brown talks about in this episode of The Learning Xchange podcast. There are several places in life where we think we need to make improvements. One of those places that Americans spend their money is making home improvements. I have to admit I can be seen binge-watching home improvement shows just because I find it amazing how they take an old space and create something new out of it that is bright and open. I guess that is because I love design and architecture. But have we thought about spiritual improvements? We have a problem as Christians in that we often think that transformation comes from change. The truth is change comes from transformation. Many of us have been raised with the idea that if we act better, live better, and do better we will be transformed. In this episode of the Faith First Podcast, you'll discover:DIY spiritual formation isn't possibleWhat it means to truly live for Jesus, it's not what you thinkWhy a change of focus is needed for improvement to happen in your lifeSelf-improvement is a lie of the worldImprovement in our faith journey happens with a focus on God and othersIf the improvements that are made in our lives make us feel greater personal satisfaction and self-esteem but are not impacting the people around us, then those changes are not saying anything positive about Jesus. They just place the focus once again on ourselves. The improvements that God makes in our lives will impact the lives around us. As we grow and change through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are energized for service and worship.

Tao Te Ching Verse 25:translated by Victor MairThere was something featureless yet complete, born before heaven and earth;Silent - amorphous - it stood alone and unchanging. We may regard it as the mother of heaven and earth. Not knowing its name,I style it the "Way."If forced to give it a name,I would call it "great."Being great implies flowing ever onward,Flowing ever onward implies far-reaching,Far-reaching implies reversal. The Way is great,Heaven is great,Earth is great,The king, too, is great.Within the realm there are four greats, and the king is one among them.Man patterns himself on earth,Earth patterns itself on heaven,Heaven patterns itself on the Way,The Way patterns itself on nature.Photo by Shubham Bochiwal on UnsplashExperiencing the Tao in OthersIf we find ourselves in one pattern of many things that keep repeating themselves, we don't have to look very far to see things. We can observe ourselves from without: look around us, understand some principles of nature - and then apply them directly to our inner workings. Biologically, this is sound, insofar as I can understand in general how things work. I mean there are differences between cats and humans, right? But the idea of cell division, life, how we move with muscles and skeletons, all that - is pretty much the same. So can’t we observe how the Tao works and use that to understand ourselves better? I think that yes, we can! And we’ve got an awesome guide to help us through that - the 2500 year-old Lao Tzu himself! What I’ve been able to do is to use this concept to respect, love, and appreciate others in my life. And I’m not just talking about those who are close to me. I’m also talking about other people who I wouldn’t interact with directly. In previous verses, one of the common themes has been an active practice of humility - looking at different ways we can remain humble, and this verse is no exception. But how? By simply recognizing the greatness in every person we meet. Recognizing greatness in those places we don’t think we can find it.For example, we can consider that everyone on the road this morning has a life - has a version of reality that we don’t. Everyone has a unique perspective. Like facets of a diamond, all of these perspectives create a much much larger picture of reality. Let’s consider other members of society. How about the people who don’t have a home, the ones who live outside or on the street. They are great facets of the Tao too, aren’t they? I wonder what their reality looks like. I wonder how they experience greatness. Everyone is great. By allowing myself to consider this, and then looking for examples, I can once more realize that I am a part of something much, much greater than myself. I can practice humility, which can transcend this feeling of existential angst to which I sometimes find myself subscribing. All of a sudden, I become the Tao.

Denial is a defense mechanism that allows a person – despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary – to deny that something is true, when in fact, it is true.  It is one of the most powerful and difficult problems that Alcoholics and Drug Addicts face before, during, AND after treatment, because it is always the thinking that precedes the act of picking up a drink or a drug. If you have a drinking problem, you may deny it by: Drastically underestimating how much you drink Downplaying the negative consequences of your drinking Complaining that family and friends are exaggerating the problem Blaming your drinking or drinking-related problems on othersIf any of these symptoms sound familiar to you, or someone you love, or if you're struggling with drinking, please listen to this informative and important show.
