A gene therapy clinical trial for Danon disease run by Rocket Pharmaceuticals has been suspended following the death of a patient. MIT and Recursion have released Boltz-2, an open-source tool that predicts molecular binding affinity at newfound speed and accuracy, aiming to democratize commercial drug discovery. Intellia Therapeutics saw its stock nosedive late last week after a patient in its Phase III trial of the CRISPR-based therapy experienced non-lethal liver toxicity. Patrick Vanraes is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp whose research into liquid plasmas has led him to believe that we have radically, completely, totally misunderstood what it means for something to be “plasma.” All presentations on the subject begin with a rote recitation of the fact that plasma is a fourth state of matter - solid, liquid, gas, then plasma. But Patrick makes the point that this is an incomprehensible perspective, because the phase change between solid - liquid - gas is one of motion. Each phase has more degrees of freedom than the previous one, and so reveals different macroscopic qualities of the substance. The transition to plasma is far stranger. Some component of it does include a greater range of motion, as the electron shells of the atoms bloom away from their ionic cores. I'm convinced I have lipedema. I haven't been to the Dr to confirm yet. My torso, arms & legs all feel like I have grainy/pebbly texture beneath the skin. My knees have a weird “fat pad” on the side. I listened to another show where you mentioned lipedema, & I thought you said you have been able to help people reverse it. All of my research says it's incurable, but can manage it and calm swelling and pain, but the nodular fat will not go away without lipo. My questions are: are you familiar with any other scenario where texture I feel on myself as I described is normal? Or is that pebbly feeling always lipedema? Have you actually seen people get rid of the nodular lipedema fat & heal completely? Or just reduce swelling, pain & normal fat?Diet advice for this condition? In Hermitage, Tennessee, around 1989, there was a mass sighting of an enormous cigar-shaped craft, which Adam and his family witnessed. It hovered for some time before beginning to move, then suddenly shot off and vanished, leaving people screaming in its wake. At what iron levels would you likely recommend someone give blood, if at all? Also, what is the difference between a plasma donation and plasmapheresis? Can you get similar benefits from regular plasma donations as you can from plasmapheresis? Thank you!                                                                                                                           Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral, In my teenage years, I was quite often prescribed anitbiotics to combat cystic acne. I was mostly prescribed tetracycline, and a few others that I cant remember. I was on them for quite a while as I just did not respond well to acutane. Im a male and 40 years old now and I do have quite a bit of gi issues. My first GI doctor diagnosed me with dispepsia, though I wasnt tested for that so i dont know how he arrived at that conclusion. My 2nd GI Dr. ran a stool test that came back normal. Is it possible for such antibiotic during teenage years to lead to GI issues? I know nothing is certain without testing but just curious if its even a possibility considering it was so long ago and Ive largely avoided them since my 20's. I noticed the one on your resource pages is at least a couple years old, so I'm not sure it's still as effective as some of the newer ones. When looking for red light therapy caps for hair growth, what numbers (levels) and how many red lights should be the minimum in a red light therapy cap? Some can get quite pricey and I'm looking for something that is cost effective. Thank you so much! I have been using the X39 patch for the past 3 months and very much respect your knowledge about all things health. You have experienced, seen, read, done so many things in the health and wellness World and I take your opinion very seriously. You have mentioned a few times in your podcast that you have not seen any clinical studies about X39 and wanted to share these 2 with you. I was pleased to know about an affordable way to activate stem cells and copper peptides but I don't understand the deeper langage when it comes to researchers sometimes. I agree that blind testing is not enough and we need actual clinical studies to prove its benefits. One of my favorite basketball players, Victor Wembanyama (Wemby), was diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, which is his shooting shoulder. He's 7 feet, 4 inches and 21 years old. From my perspective, it's very likely that taller people develop cardiovascular issues, and health issues in general, more often than shorter individuals... but Wemby is quite young and perhaps we might not expect cardiovascular issues at this age. I'd like to break down what may lead to blood clotting, especially in tall humans. What might the body be responding to with aggregations of blood in its attempt to reach its balanced state?
