Send us a textAre We Using Church Councils the Lord's Way?          Church councils are more than meetings—they're a sacred pattern revealed by God to help us govern His Church and strengthen His Saints. But are we using them the way the Lord intended?        In this episode, we dive into the divine design of church councils: how they should function, what their purpose truly is, and how the Spirit should lead. From ward and stake councils to family councils at home, we'll explore the blessings that come when councils are unified, Spirit-led, and focused on building Zion.        Whether you're a bishop, a Relief Society president, or a parent seeking revelation at home, this conversation will inspire you to approach councils as the Lord's tool for revelation, unity, and action.Support the Show!www.patreon.com/SaintsintheSouth(The thoughts, ideas, and beliefs we express on this channel do not officially represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  For additional information or official statements, please visit the website below.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/?lang=eng)#biblestudy #oldtestament #religion #churchofJesusChrist #ldspodcast #christianpodcast #missionary #lds #biblestories #christ #faith #faithinchrist #scriptures #bookofmormon #doctrineandcovenants #pearlofgreatprice #temples #houseofthelord #mormon #mormonbeliefs #christiansandmormons #god #endure #ironrod #faithineveryfootstep #generalconference #prophets #followtheprophet #commandments #love #service #charity #keepstriving #keeponstriving #gospelgrowthandgoodtimes #become #newtestamentSupport the show

When the Church was organized, the Lord taught His Saints about sacred ordinances, including baptism and the sacrament. Sacred ordinances help us become like the Savior.Obeying God's word through His prophets will give me divine protection.Doctrine and Covenants 21:4–9 contains invitations to follow the Lord's prophet and powerful promises for people who do.

Send us a textFrom Come Follow Me:        "In November 1831, the restored Church of Jesus Christ was just a year and a half old. Though growing, it was still a little-known group of believers living in relatively small towns, led by a prophet in his mid-twenties. But God considered these believers to be His servants and His messengers, and He wanted the revelations He had given them to be published to the world.        Doctrine and Covenants section 1 is the Lord's preface, or introduction, to these revelations. It clearly shows that even though the membership of the Church was small, there was nothing small about the message God wanted His Saints to share. It is a “voice of warning” for all “the inhabitants of the earth,” teaching them to repent and establish God's “everlasting covenant” (verses 4, 8, 22). The servants carrying this message are “the weak and the simple.” But humble servants are just what God calls for—then and now—to bring His Church “out of obscurity and out of darkness” (verses 23, 30)."Support the Show:www.patreon.com/SaintsintheSouth(The thoughts, ideas, and beliefs we express on this channel do not officially represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  For additional information or official statements, please visit the website below.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/?lang=eng)#biblestudy #oldtestament #religion #churchofJesusChrist #ldspodcast #christianpodcast #missionary #lds #biblestories #christ #faith #faithinchrist #scriptures #bookofmormon #doctrineandcovenants #pearlofgreatprice #temples #houseofthelord #mormon #mormonbeliefs #christiansandmormons #god #endure #ironrod #faithineveryfootstep #generalconference #prophets #followtheprophet #commandments #love #service #charity #keepstriving #keeponstriving #gospelgrowthandgoodtimes #become #newtestamentSupport the show

1 CORINTHIANS Correction With Confidence Because The Faithfulness Of God Toward  His Saints!        1 Corinthians 7:6–9 (ESV)6 Now as a concession, not a command, I say this. 7 I wish that all were as I myself am. But each has his own gift from God, one of one kind and one of another. 8 To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am. 9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.   CONTEXT:  Corinth's Question: 1 Cor 7:1 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote…   Paul's Concession v6   - Commands to the married are not commands to be married. Colossians 3:1–25                                                                                           (See also Ephesians 5:1-22, 1 Peter 2:1-18) V3-4 Eternal realities that command present response! V5-11 Repentance in faith for all in Christ, because Christ is all in all!  All other identities have become secondary. V12-17 Attitudes and actions in faith for all in Christ! V18-25 Concession or agreement with God's commands applied in particular circumstances of life in Christ!         Paul's Consideration v7-8 –  Convictions in Consideration of God's glory and good gifts Consideration for  continuing unmarried   V25-28 Present circumstances? V29-31 Present state is perishing! V32-35 Present relationships have demands!   Consideration for contentment and conviction where you are called    V16 Live as You Are Called  (married to an unbeliever…) V20 Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called - (circumcised or not) V24 So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.  Slave or free…         Paul's Conclusion v9  - Conclusions with genuine convictions and concession to God.    1 Corinthians 7:28 …But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman marries, she has not sinned… 1 Corinthians 7:36  … let them marry—it is no sin.   Marriage for Protection     (1 Corinthians 7:1-9) -        Focus and fruitfulness with the gifts that God has given you… in the perishing world.   Marriage For Procreation  (Genesis 1:28  Psalm 127:4) Marriage For Pleasure       (Song of Solomon Proverbs 5:15-20) Marriage For Provision     (Proverbs 12:4, 19:14, 18:22, Ephesians 5:28-30) Marriage For Partnership  (Genesis 2:18, 24-25) Marriage as a  Picture        (Ephesians 5:31-32)     Application 1.     Where in life do you need to seek contentment and submission to God's will where he has called you? 2.     Consider how can you live for God's glory where he has called you? 3.     Consider God's faithfulness in gifts to others, how can you encourage them for God's glory where he has called them?

1 CORINTHIANS Correction With Confidence Because The Faithfulness Of God Toward  His Saints!        1 Corinthians 7:8–16 (ESV) — 8 To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to  remain single, as I am. 9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 10 To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband 11 (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife. 12 To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. 13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace. 16 For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?   TO THE SINGLE STAY BUT NOT IN SIN (V8-9)   Consideration for  continuing unmarried   V25-28 Present circumstances? V29-31 Present state is perishing! V32-35 Present relationships have demands!           TO THE MARRIED STAY AND DO NOT SIN  (V10-16)   (1)   CHRISTIANS MARRIED TO CHRISTIANS (V10-11)   Marriage for Protection     (1 Cor 7:1-9) Marriage For Procreation  (Gen 1:28  Ps 127:4) Marriage For Pleasure       (Song of Solomon Prov 5:15-20) Marriage For Provision     (Prov 12:4, 19:14, 18:22, Eph 5:28-30) Marriage For Partnership  (Gen 2:18, 24-25) Marriage as a Picture         (Eph 5:31-32)       Mark 10:7–12 (ESV) — 7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” 10 And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter. 11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, 12 and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

1 CORINTHIANS Correction With Confidence Because The Faithfulness Of God Toward  His Saints!        1 Corinthians 4:6–14 (ESV) — 6 I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. 7 For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it? 8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign, so that we might share the rule with you! 9 For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11 To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, 12 and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; 13 when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things. 14 I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

AASAA, CHHANT, FIFTH MEHL, FOURTH HOUSE: ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU: My mind is pierced by the Lord's Lotus Feet; He alone is sweet to my mind, the Lord King. Joining the Society of the Saints, I meditate on the Lord in adoration; I behold the Lord King in each and every heart. I behold the Lord in each and every heart, and the Ambrosial Nectar rains down upon me; the pains of birth and death are gone. Singing the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of virtue, all my pains are erased, and the knot of ego has been untied. My Beloved shall not leave me to go anywhere — this is His natural way; my mind is imbued with the lasting color of the Lord's Love. The Lotus Feet of the Lord have pierced Nanak's mind, and now, nothing else seems sweet to him. || 1 || Just like the fish which revels in water, I am intoxicated with the sublime essence of the Lord, my Lord King. The Perfect Guru has instructed me, and blessed me with salvation in my life; I love the Lord, my King. The Lord Master, the Searcher of hearts, blesses me with salvation in my life; He Himself attaches me to His Love. The Lord is the treasure of jewels, the perfect manifestation; He shall not forsake us to go anywhere else. God, the Lord Master, is so accomplished, beauteous, and all-knowing; His gifts are never exhausted. As the fish is enraptured by the water, so is Nanak intoxicated by the Lord. || 2 || As the song-bird yearns for the rain-drop, the Lord, the Lord my King, is the Support of my breath of life. My Lord King is more beloved than all wealth, treasure, children, siblings and friends. The absolute Lord, the Primal Being, is more beloved than all; His condition cannot be known. I shall never forget the Lord, for an instant, for a single breath; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I enjoy His Love. The Primal Lord God is the Life of the Universe; His Saints drink in the Lord's sublime essence. Meditating on Him, doubts, attachments and pains are shaken off. As the song-bird yearns for the rain-drop, so does Nanak love the Lord. || 3 || Meeting the Lord, my Lord King, my desires are fulfilled. The walls of doubt have been torn down, meeting the Brave Guru, O Lord King. The Perfect Guru is obtained by perfect pre-ordained destiny; God is the Giver of all treasures — He is merciful to the meek. In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, is God, the most beautiful Guru, the Sustainer of the World. The dust of the feet of the Holy purifies sinners, and brings great joy, bliss and ecstasy. The Lord, the Infinite Lord, has met with Nanak, and his desires are fulfilled. 1। --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gsjhampur/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gsjhampur/support

We out to proclaim the mighty works of Jesus's power. Many a times our focus gets redirected to Easter eggs and treats thus losing out on the real true meaning. Up up from the grave He arose, like a Mighty triumphant o're his foes. He arose a Victor from the dark domain. And He lives forever with His Saints to reign. So whilst compiling this episode this song comes to mind. Up from the grave He arose. So, you too can be raised up from your unfortunate circumstances, but keep your eyes on Him. Many a times we accept old behaviors as normal thus continuing the same old routine but Jesus resurrected, so you can be resurrected from old belief systems too. Tune in to hear our devotion with Elder Angela as she shares more on the Resurrected power today. May we receive the Resurrection power of life of our Red Sea moments of our valley high and valley low moments our desert and despair moments because the same Ressurection power of Jesus lives inside you and me. May God's abundant Blessings be with you always. In His love and grace, much appreciation. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/into-the-garden/message

In the Mass of All Saints, we are told that the angels are in wonder of Christ's restoration of the dignity of His Saints. The extent to which Jesus took the fallen condition of mankind and raised it back up to its truly created design has the angels and the innumerable Saints in heaven in constant awe and praise. Tonight we look at this revelation given to us of Paraidise. And we consider the path forged by Christ and graced by Christ for us to come to the eternal experience of these unspeakable joys.

Trials of Faith Prepare Us For Battle (3)  (audio)  David Eells - 11/1/23  Surrender Ownership  Samuel Fire 5/11/23  I dreamt that I was with my family and with other brethren.   We all decided to have a group BBQ at a water park. (The water park represents the apostate church where they go to be entertained while only playing in the water of the Word. The BBQ represents fiery trials for the flesh to be a sacrifice.) This park had a bunch of wild animals, which were treated kindly and were dotted around the area being left alone. They were like a theme to the water park. (The wild animals represent unsaved worldly people around us and in the apostate harlot church, who are part of the beast kingdom.)   We were all having fun and were going to go for a swim. One of the neighbor adults was hesitant due to a fear of the animals and didn't know if they were dangerous. I said, “The worst animal here is a duck that is completely harmless and cute, which would just paddle nearby.”  We were then all waist deep in water splashing, and the children were excited and having fun with shouts of glee.   Suddenly I saw someone grab my laptop. They decided to use it and wanted to swim at the same time. I was gritting my teeth and being as lenient and kind as I could. In the natural I would have gone berserk and kept it safe and far away from anyone else. (God uses family and even brethren to try us and crucify our flesh.) (This kind of fiery trial is what the BBQ is doing... the flesh is being burned up when we do not give into it. Psa 39:3 My heart was hot within me; While I was musing the fire burned:…)  Suddenly, they had it in the water with them before I could react. Then as expected, the laptop got wet and stopped working. They were trying to drip off the water to get it to work but to no avail. I was upset and grabbed it from them and said, “If you wanted to do this, have the expectations to replace this. All my life's work is on this, and I need to use this all the time.” They all fell silent. (Even when someone is being used by God to crucify our flesh, we are to NOT react in the flesh. We are to forgive and love them just as Jesus did.) (Pro 17:17 A friend loves at all times, but a brother is born in adversity.   1Pe 4:8 above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:  1Co 13:7 [love] beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.)  I then felt sorry, and I repented to Father for my heart and reaction to them and the whole situation. I felt that our Father would easily replace it and I shouldn't get upset over something our Father had provided and everything belongs to Him. (It is the Holy Spirit who convicts us when we are wrong and brings us into the image of Jesus for all eternity, so we can let go of everything that isn't Holy and isn't the Word of God.) (Many do not repent and justify their feelings and actions towards others who behave in weakness or ignorance. It is a gift of God to repent when we realize we have reacted in the flesh in a situation.)     Trials Passing Through The Harlot Church   Tianna Fire 1/21/23   I dreamt that Samuel and I were journeying in a red van (We are covered in the blood of the Lamb.) to a good place (the Promised Land) with many other brethren in the back of the van. Samuel was driving and I was in the passenger seat next to him. We stopped in a town where they were professing Christianity. We only wanted to be there for the night to rest and then continue our journey. (There are many who claim Christianity, but they are part of the harlot church who look and act like the world. We are to pass through these church denominations.)   We met the leader of the town; his name was Cornelius. (In the New Testament there was a Roman centurion named Cornelius, which means “of a horn.”) Everyone in the town tried to make us feel welcome, although they were not spiritually on the same page as us, they were still kind. (Most of Christianity are not spirit-filled and mind the things of the flesh.)   Cornelius gave Samuel and I a tour of a house. The house was absolutely perfect and the type of house I would like; it was small with an open living area with only one bedroom and two bathrooms. Literally everything in the house was exactly how I would want it. One bathroom had a deep bath and a nice shower that was set up with climbing steps that I thought our son would love. In the dream, I kept repeating how this house was what I would like and how awesome the design was, and I would have it all the same way. (In our journey to the promised land, God knows our weaknesses and what our flesh would be tempted with, which we learn to say no to, and die to.)   At the end of the tour, they said that if we stayed in this town that they would let us have the house for free. (This sounds like the “prosperity gospel” of worldly comforts.) I knew this house would be better than I expected, however I certainly did not want to stay in this town and I wanted to be regularly around people who are on fire for God and want more of Him and are growing in Him.   I knew this was the enemy tempting me. (We are all faced with the desires of the flesh, and are tempted to compromise? We have to forsake all to follow the Lord and not given in to our flesh.) (1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.)     We tried to get alone with the brethren we traveled here with, but we were unable to because there were so many people in this community, and they just kept wanting to talk. I found out from one brother that he was also tempted with a free house. (The harlot churches tempt the flesh with worldly comforts, and nothing about growing up in the Lord and the crucified life. Pro 5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil:  Pro 7:21 With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield;...)  It was now night and everyone was gathered around a fire. We felt that we should leave this place right now, so we went to find the brethren to tell them we were going to leave. All but one of them agreed to leave, this one person decided to stay in this town. (Many people desire to stay in the comfort and ease of the denominational churches. In the parable of the Sower, this person represents those where the seed was sown among the thorns. Luk 8:14 And that [seed] which fell among the thorns, these are they that have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.)   We looked for the van to leave but we couldn't find it anywhere, so we decided to just walk the rest of the way.   We all planned to meet in a forest just outside of the town. On our way out, some people noticed we were leaving, and they started chasing after us. We ran to the meeting spot and together we started running through the forest. We didn't know where to go but felt in Spirit when to stop and where to turn etc. A few of the brethren gave up running and they didn't want to stay in the forest so they just went back to the last town. (The apostle Paul exhorts us to continue in the race and endure to the end. 1Co 9:24 Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain.   Heb 12:1…lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,)  (Not everyone who starts out with us in the race continues to the end. Many fall away and go back to their worldly ways. Many of Jesus' disciples chose not to continue to follow Him in John 6:66 (Notice the number) because they felt His words were too hard for them to hear and to do them. Also we see in the 6th Book, Romans 6:6 (666) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin.)   We ran until the next day, and at around midday we arrived at another town. We jumped over a fence to get into the town and searched around not wanting to draw attention to ourselves. Samuel heard the Lord say that He would provide another vehicle in this town to continue the journey. While we were in this town a few people got distracted with food in a marketplace and they decided it was too much to continue the journey. (Many Pentecostal people get in idolatry with food and get weighed down with the world.) They wanted to settle down and stay in a place where they would always have access to food, water, shelter and other comforts. (So they didn't have to contend with the trials of living by faith and chose to go back to the worldly comforts and fleshly satisfaction. Paul says in Php 3:19…whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. 2Ti 2:3-5  Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.  4  No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.  5  And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.  The Israelites didn't like the Manna in the wilderness. They longed for the flesh pots and the foods they were accustomed to in Egypt where they were in bondage to the old man. God's people are being called out of Egypt to follow the Man-child Jesus into the wilderness where they lived the crucified life, where they were to deny self and learn to rely completely on God to provide.)  We met a few people in this town who wanted to join us. The Lord blessed us with a green van (Green represents life) and more brethren, although we had lost all the brethren who started out with us, except one. (Again, in the parable of the Seed and the Sower, only one went on to bear the fruit of Christ. Mar 4:20 And those are they that were sown upon the good ground; such as hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfold. Not everyone continues with us. As we have seen some have come and gone from us and we will see this in the Tribulation period too. 1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.)  We continued our journey in the green van, not wanting to get distracted and keeping watch to make sure we didn't give into the flesh but persevere in getting to our desired destination. Php 3:14 I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (The high calling of Christ to be in the Bride and manifest the 100-fold fruit.)      Cleansing Idols From The Heart  Anonymous12/10/22 (David's notes in red)    I sought the Lord regarding idols in our heart and heard:   “Be aware of idols of ‘insecurity' and ‘selfishness'. You need to reshape and rethink on how you perceive the life in Christ. (He is our example.) Col 3:3-4 For ye died, and your life is hid with the Christ in God. 4 When the Christ, our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.  Eph 4:22-24 that ye put away, as concerning your former behavior, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit; 23 and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.   Insecurity is where you want or require something, that when put to the test of does it promote eternity with Me, would be thrown out into the fire. I supply all your needs and desires for your heart. Continue to replace the earthly and always put Me first and keep a watch for the things that could be contrary to My Word. (Remember that we own nothing, we are only stewards handling it for God. Luk 14:33  So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Father will supply our every need, not necessarily our every greed.) Mat 6:33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.  Php 4:19 And my God shall supply your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  Psa 37:4-5 Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart. 5 Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.   1Th 5:6 so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.  Selfishness is where there is pride and misunderstanding, especially what has been taught and learned through the world's ways, comes between us. Pro 13:10 By pride cometh only contention;… 1Co 10:24 Let no man seek his own, but each his neighbor's good.    Php 2:4-5 not looking each severally to his own things, but each severally also to those of others. 5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. The renewal of your mind is the best place to begin, to be cleansed and sanctified. After these things are put into check and aligned back according to My Son and My Word, you can receive and manifest 100fold!   Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing to God, your spiritual service. 2 And be not fashioned according to this age: but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, that ye may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God. Col 3:10 and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:   Luk 8:8 And other fell into the good ground, and grew, and brought forth fruit a hundredfold.... Mar 10:29-30 Jesus said, Amen I say unto you, There is no one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or fields, for my sake, and for the gospel's sake, 30 but he shall receive hundredfold now...   Like when a bath is filled up with water. You get in, and the water rises. When you get out, you can fill it up all the way. The objects within (idols) are of no value and when removed, then they enable more room to be filled with Me. Aim and focus on the hardest and most hidden of evil. This is self. Learn to hate the concept and mindset of being an individual. Instead, you need to incorporate My Son as He is the perfect replacement.    Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.  Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease. Pro 8:13 The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil: Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, And the perverse mouth, do I hate.   To get past all of self and anything that is carnal and fleshly, you need to seek and find and rout out all the things that can be of this type. Keep an eye and ear on the self (watch out for outward evil manifestations) and bring it into the Light for full exposure. Eph 5:8 for ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light.   Eph 5:11-13 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; 12 for the things done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of. 13 But all things when reproved are manifested by the light: for everything manifested is light.  (Psa 18:28 For thou wilt light my lamp: Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.)  Speak it out, and pray it out, and know that it is a process for it all to go. (Sanctification or holiness is a process where God shows us what needs to be cleansed and gives us the faith that we were cleansed.) Believe that you are at the end of your current state, and are already perfected in Christ. It is just the flesh and soul with understanding that needs to catch up. Col 1:27 to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:   Jas 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; 3 knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. 4 And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.  (1Jn 4:17 Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world.)       The Seed  Samuel Fire 1/13/23 (David's notes in red)    I saw a giant oak tree dropping acorns (the seed) from its branches. The tree was praying that these seeds would sprout. (We are like this tree when we sow seeds that we expect will bring forth fruit.) Some animal, maybe a squirrel, grabbed one and broke it open, but for some reason was startled and dropped it on the ground. (The little beast natures in our life seek to devour the seed that it become unfruitful.) It landed where a smaller tree had been knocked over and it fell in the soft fresh dirt near it. (The soft fresh dirt represents the good ground in the heart to receive the seed of the Word. Joh 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit.)    The oak tree somehow knew this and was pleased because that would be a good spot to grow. (Throughout the Bible, God likens people to trees; Israel is like the fig tree. Hos 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at its first season:  Mar 8:24 And he looked up, and said, I see men; for I behold them as trees, walking.  Isa 61:3 …that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.)  (Jer 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,... neither shall cease from yielding fruit.  Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit. Father plants them where He desires and causes them to grow and bear fruit. But those that do not bear good fruit prove not to be His and are cut down.)  I then saw us at Burger King restaurant where we basically gave all our food to a young couple, who we prayed for and shared the Gospel seed with them. Then we bought more food and this time we drove off to eat somewhere else. (This represents constantly sowing our seed into people.) (We always feel edified when we share the seed with others. Ecc. 11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. According to the parable of the Sower, 3 of 4 do not bear fruit. We don't know who will “hear” and receive it, but we sow the seeds to many people and the Lord causes the fruit to bear forth in His own.)   (As seeds drop into the ground and the husk dies so it grows and bears fruit, so our flesh is to die to everything carnal and worldly so it can grow and prosper in the life of Jesus. The Word of God in the parable of the Sower is the seed that brings forth that life.)       Travel To Peace  Anonymous 1/4/22 (David's notes in red)  I dreamt that my husband and I were journeying to a place named Tully. (Tully: Celtic/Irish origin means “peaceful, flood, and from the hill”. Tully was a very beautiful place, it was very green, perfect temperatures and was like a paradise on earth, with all earthly delights. (The earthly delights represent trials of fleshly lusts we must overcome, and Jesus is our peace as He leads us through the wilderness towards this Mt Zion, and we continue to abide in Christ Jesus (heavenly). Joh 16:33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.)  To get to this heavenly place we had to follow a long path that went through many different towns. All the land to get there was very green and a tropical climate and the path went through the center of the land. As we began this journey to Tully, most of it seemed to go very easily, there were no struggles or difficulties. (In the beginning of our walk we may not experience much tribulation but it does lie ahead for “Through much tribulation shall you enter the Kingdom”) Then we saw the first town ahead we had to pass through.  This town also looked so very beautiful, and all the land here was green. However, I saw in spirit an extremely deep ocean trench just before entering this town. The trench was hidden by of all the green grass, and if someone walked through this particular area, they would fall into the trench. It was extremely deep and honestly, it was very scary. (The deep ocean (waters) represents the nations of the world where some fall back into their old lifestyles like the parable of the sower.  Rev 17:15  And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.   The grass represents the flesh (1Pe 1:24 For, All flesh is as grass…) which hides the danger. The trench represents the hidden snares, and traps laid out by our enemies to try to entrap us. Psa 140:5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside;...   Psa 35:7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit; Without cause have they digged a pit for my soul. Psa 119:110 The wicked have laid a snare for me; Yet have I not gone astray from thy precepts.)  But it was revealed to us so that we would not fall in it. (The Lord leads us by the Spirit revealing the enemies' plans and the way of escape.)  In the next scene I saw that we had somehow safely made it through the town with the hidden trench and we were being introduced to the man who founded the town. This man was extremely rich and very evil. He was telling us how and why he founded it. The logo for the town was an orange and white crab with navy blue as the background. (Crabs roam on both land and sea; they hide and use their claws to catch and hold their unsuspecting prey.)  I knew this man had evil desires and intentions. As he was talking, he did not seem to have any issues with us. He showed us the town and it looked beautiful but there was so much hidden agenda.  (“They hide and use their claws to catch and hold their unsuspecting prey.”) He took us to this underground motel that he owned. (Crabs hide underground above or below water) The rooms went extremely deep underground in water, very deep like an ocean trench and it was so very dark. There was an elevator that quickly descended underground; there was one room per floor. He showed us one room which was laid out like a large, tall motel room. One half of the room was filled with water containing sharks. In the other half was water containing an octopus. (Both are predators) When we returned from the underground motel, we met the man's wife who seemed friendly, and I couldn't understand how she could be with such an evil man. We shared the gospel with them both and spoke about our Lord and the woman was receiving but the man was not. It appeared that this man held nothing against us, despite his evil intentions. (I.e. hiding his evil intentions. I was reminded how Christian Children go to college to get a higher education to get better job but they are often spiritually killed by liberal professors as Satan's helpers hiding there.) I said to the man that I am believing and hoping for God to give him repentance, even if it is only a short time before his death, I want him to repent and be with our Lord. (Bless everyone, with truth in love NENT Luk 6:27-28 But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those hating you, 28 bless those cursing you, pray for those reviling you.)  We said goodbye to them and went to leave the town when we overheard some men shouting. We went over to them and saw how they were trying to stop six Christians from following Jesus. The Christians refused and were threatened and then they took them to the underground rooms containing the sharks and octopus. It was made known that they put the Christians in there to kill them but if they survived, they would be taken to another underground area containing lions to kill them. (Christians are persecuted, and killed, in covert and overt ways everywhere. We are to be steadfast in the faith, despite the physical risks. Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.)  (Mat 10:28 And fear not them that kill the body, but cannot kill the soul: but rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in geenna.)  Two of these people survived the sharks and octopus and were taken to the underground room of lions. The men then said that they wanted my baby son. I either said it aloud or in my mind, ‘No because Jesus has set us free from sin and death and we won't physically die because it's not us living'. They started chasing me, and I knew that they couldn't touch me, but I wasn't sure about my son, so I ran out of the underground cave with them chasing me. I started flying forward and off the ground. I asked God to take my baby now up to Heaven, like Enoch and Elijah were taken and that God won't let him physically die. I lifted him up to Heaven, while flying and I saw him be lifted up higher and higher out of my arms. (NENT Rev 12:5 And she was delivered of a son, a male, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.)  I woke up.      AIDS In Water  Marie Kelton 10/14/23 (David's notes in Red)  I had a dream, that I was telling someone that the government or the D-S was putting HIV/AIDs in the water. (There have been many prophesies about this happening and the D-S are always up to de-pop-ulation. But behind all this, God is in control. He will use this to test His Saints to see if they will believe His Word and trust Him for His protection, that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. (Mar 16:18 …they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them:) For many, this will be a judgement that we hope will bring them to repentance.)    s The Cross   Samuel Fire 10/1/22 (David's notes in red)   I looked at a bible cover, that we read occasionally when near the kitchen, and as I looked at the symbol of the Cross, I felt the Lord say:   The cross, it is an upside-down sword. A declaration of victory. There are no more foes to battle and it is pushed into the earth (Just like the long end of the cross is pushed into the earth) just as a victorious knight would do at the end of battle. It is done, it is finished! NENT Luk 11:22-23 but when a stronger than he shall come upon and overcome him, he taketh from him his whole armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. 23 Who is not with me is against me; and who gathereth not with me scattereth.    Joh 17:4 I glorified thee on earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.  Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. 1Co 15:57 but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.   (Praise God for He has already done it ALL, He has given us the grace to overcome the flesh and to get through every trial, He has given us the faith in His Word, He HAS set us free from the power of darkness, (He has redeemed us out of the hand of our enemies.) He HAS set us free from the curse of sin and death, it is finished!)   Glory to Father God Almighty ♡       Question Regarding Chest Pain   Anonymous 9/9/22 (David's notes in red)    I had been having chest pain and I sought The Lord asking what was causing it and this is what I heard.   The Lord - “You asked of Me to deliver you and heal you; I already have and your faith in your soul is lining up with the Spirit. The Spirit is now in charge over you. Your soul cries to Me and aches and yearns for Me. I have heard and will manifest in you more. Where it hurts is the body. It has had damage and sin, and this opposing habitat of evil is being cleansed – it does not like or want to let go. Each time My hand (Angel) and in prayer with thanks and praise to Me, I am destroying this and creating in you a clean heart. The flesh needs to be scrubbed and stripped and all wounds exposed to the truth, light, love and Holy Spirit. I Am digging deep into all roots and flushing out all this.”   (Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.)  (Heb 12:15 looking carefully lest there be any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled;) (Ephesians 5:26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word.)  (Psa 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds.)  The Lord said, “Your soul and mind is set on Me and the body proclaims Me on your lips - the body must obey My Spirit. As the body learns and realizes it cannot do anything without your will, soul and mind, it obeys Me. Then it tries to resist Me but loses every battle.   DO NOT CONDEMN YOURSELF IN BEING OBEDIENT TO ME!   The pain is ongoing and will be filled more with My love, Spirit and Truth. Continue to voice it out (speak with your heart) the Living Waters and think on My Son's life. (blood, life and wine) Let go. Tell the body – obey. Each time it hurts – I Am here with you. Remember, My Son did all for you and showed that the toughest challenge has a greater reward – which you can endure, and the victory was done at the cross.   The pain you feel is Me cleaning you up of all that is not welcome or required by me. It hurts because was stained for too long. Now as it is gone you also hurt from something you never felt truly before. This is My real love for you. Be in joy, I made you new. My Son desires you and no pain or flesh or evil or lies or unclean vessel – nothing can come between Me and you and Our marriage for eternity.   Bless you for your reward will come more each moment. As the wind, and breath and heart beats, you come to Me even closer. I will not forsake this amazing work I have done, and you have proven to Me – even before you realize it – that I want you. I perfected it all for My glory. All this pain/hurt is no more as my words prove it all – and the last is death – it is defeated even at the beginning. I AM THE ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE EVERLASTING – and you already are with Me!  What hurts is that way because it is cast out forever and cannot win.   WE ARE VICTORIOUS IN CHRIST JESUS – I LOVE YOU!”

By Mary Lindow  It's a wonderful thing to be able to give a hand to someone who is in turmoil, but we can't do it by just quoting nice Christian sayings or throwing out a random scripture at them. It's so easy to say, “Oh yes! Just trust in God! It'll all work out. Somehow somewhere God will help you!”   When we see a person who is going through trials and who knows God, but is struggling hard, who is deeply fatigued and bobbing up and down under the water, barely keeping afloat, due to some difficulty or trial of their faith, we need to lift them up and we are not to judge them, because it is a slander against the very loved creation of Jesus Christ. Oswald Chambers had a tremendous statement about this. He said, “It's a great thing to see physical courage, and still even strong, moral courage, but the greatest thing is to see spiritual courage, to see that we can help others stand true and strong in the integrity of Jesus, no matter what they are going through. People who have gone through a hot fire or as some call it, a crucible, these tested individuals are going to be a tremendous support to many other people.”   He went on to say, “Here's the reason we go through the things we do.  God wants to know if he can make us “good bread - good food” to feed to other people.”   In first Peter one through eight Peter says to us, “Though right now, you're grieved by so many different trials, hang in there, remember the inheritance! It's not messed up it's not defiled, it's not made dirty. Look to Jesus and you will receive the ultimate result and reward of your faith.”   MY FELLOW BELIEVERS, THERE'S A TIME COMING WHEN EVERYTHING THAT RIGHT NOW THAT IS A PROBLEM, WILL BE PERFECTLY SOLVED. In the meantime, are we prepared to let people poke at us, to joke at us, to humiliate us, to let them have their momentary agendas over certain narratives? When you stick it out and hold on, looking to the greater horizon, to the very central part of Christianity, which is your personal walk, your personal relationship to Jesus, how do you continue to handle the cruelties of this current world system?   LOOK TO HIM! LOOK AT HIM! Which actually means, look for spiritual discernment, remembering it's a difficulty to be weak, and God strengthens us to go through anything when Jesus Christ is what he is, and who he said he was!   “If we have a trial of faith, we must endure it until we get through it, and more often than not, even other Christians who are watching might pull back in disgust at our difficulties or losses.”   THESE INDIVIDUALS HAVE YET TO ACTUALLY SURRENDER THEIR LIVES TO HUMILITY. They enjoy thinking God has blessed them with earthly things and pleasures because somehow, they are more clever and worked harder at achieving.   THE RICH YOUNG RULER WAS MUCH LIKE THIS. He did all the right actions, was good hearted and generous, oh yes! But he loved the attention it garnered as well. When Jesus asked him to sell it all, sell out 100% to help those around him, and to come and follow Jesus, he couldn't. He loved being in charge and in control of his own destiny.   IT SAYS THAT HE WENT AWAY SAD. Sad because he couldn't live both lifestyles at the same time. He most likely thought he could finance Jesus quite well, and make a return on his investment if the marketing drew good crowds!   IF YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH TRIALS OF FAITH IN THE PAST, GOD WILL THEN BRING ACROSS OUR PATHS OTHER MORE IMMATURE SOULS, AND WE HAVE NO BUSINESS DESPISING THEM.   WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM. We are to be to them something that has embraced and fully transferred into our souls, which is, the very fundamental nature of Jesus. Remember, people will draw off of that “virtue” leaving you. The scripture says Jesus, knew in himself that power had gone out of him. This is when the woman with the shaming, hemorrhaging issue of blood said, “If I could just touch that piece of fabric, the hem of his garment!” and Jesus did say, “Someone touched me! I felt Virtue leave me!”   FRIENDS! YOU AND I WILL FEEL THE SAME THING! There are people who spiritually and morally who will literally draw or pull the virtue out of your life, and if you don't keep up the supply from the life of Jesus Christ you will be exhausted! We must keep our spiritual strength strong and let others nourish themselves until they are able to stand on their own feet, and then take direct life instructions from him.   DON'T BE DISTURBED IF PEOPLES LIVES SEEM TO BE MESSY… … OR THINGS ARE CHANGING AND NOT FITTING PERFECTLY LIKE A JIGSAW PUZZLE PIECE! It actually means there is a terrific possibility of greater things developing! And the same thing spiritually is that if there is turbulence in our lives, God is turning it into the right thing in the right time! So, in the meantime, look to Jesus, and take the next step as it comes.   “GET THROUGH WHATEVER YOU'RE GOING THROUGH AND YOU'LL BE A TREMENDOUS ASSISTANCE TO OTHERS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THE VERY SAME THING!”   IT'S NOT FOR US TO SHAME OR HUMILIATE OR CRITICIZE OTHERS for not being where you are spiritually, but instead, it's for us to see that we are good nourishing bread for these people in the hands of God.  If we look at Job Chapter one verse one that verse certainly speaks loudly! It says Job was blameless and upright.  He feared God and pushed away or shunned evil and this was the character God gave to Job. God asked Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There's no one on earth like him”, and Satan, then replied and said, “Well, strip him, and he will curse you to your face!”   SATAN WANTED JOB TO FALL. HE WANTS US TO FALL, But God wanted Job to be blessed. So Satan tried to strip Job from God. With a Malignant, and a strong, strong, evil energy, he goes to work, and then in one day he brought the greatest man in all of the East into abject poverty and then visits him with great sadness, blow after blow of such a difficult and crushing nature and with such speed this all fell upon Job! We just have to marvel at the testimony of the Holy Spirit that in all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God with wrongdoing, that's in verse 22 of Job one. What a massive win for God, and what a punch in the face and a defeat for Satan.   A Current Prophetic Word Many hidden and also more visual Prophetic individuals are hearing similar threads and words from the Holy Spirit regarding what I'm about to share with you. I encourage you to be very focused and still as you take these insights to heart. The Father has things that are very succinct and encouraging for you to hear. “Those who have stayed faithful to God's leading, stepping out into new things will start to see doors opened into the promises. The prophetic word of testing and preparing them for this time is now coming to pass. There is a precise blessing for the double portion where that which was conceived and dreamed about in the years past, and now it surfaces into a double blessing. This is the year where the prophetic voice brings into the open new life, brings restoration, strengthening the weary soul, enlarging your heart, resurrecting the dry bones. This is the prophecy to His church. ‘As you reorder, reset yourself to His leading, His mission, and His headship, He brings the wind of His Spirit to cause His church to rise up. Expect to see resurrection in the church'. Doors begin to appear for many, with heavenly encounters and signs showing the way. Those who have stayed faithful to God's leading, stepping out into new things will start to see doors opened into the promises. For some, this year will be one where you start to truly enter the dream you felt God called you to during the last year or two, even though it seemed to lead to nothing, and you found yourself back at the beginning of where it all started. But through the voice of the Father and the Son, they have been establishing you, preparing you, for what lies ahead. This year, development has been taking place, positioning you for the door that is about to open. The is the beginning of the prophetic word and dream being realized… …But it is only the beginning. The place where no options and hard brick walls once existed, now, doors appear, new partnerships and pure relationships continue to be revealed. This is for personal moves of God and for national moves of God globally. The moment and movements, yes, better mobility allowing the passage through the doors is being made possible. However, be wise and aware that the enemy crouches at the door, so don't be deceived, but in the power of God and faith in His leading, continue, despite the battle. Know too that Satan will seek to deceive by building his false gates and attractive “other doors” options, flanking the Lord's, so; prayerfully seek the will of God. The key that opens the Doors of The Father is humility and dependence on Him. This door is opened by the Doorkeeper. Hearts once closed to love will begin to open the journey to humility, bringing about those who will bend their knees. Those who carry the gospel will see their light received by those bowing and seeking God, and a new awakening will take place. It's time for the doorkeepers to announce the invitation, ‘Come, enter into His presence, open your heart to His perfect love, and you will find rest. The Lord will make His home in you.'   My Husband Steve had a most beautiful encounter with the Lord during an early morning and he is going to share his exact words and understanding about what that the Lord gave to him in the next few minutes of this podcast. It is so very timely and certainly the word of the Lord for this time that we are living in and experiencing.   PECULIAR PEOPLE (Jesus Christ) who did give himself for us, that he might ransom us from all lawlessness, and might purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works;” Titus 2:14 (Young's Literal Translation) PERHAPS YOU HAVEN'T CONSIDERED YOURSELF PECULIAR, BUT THAT'S HOW THE APOSTLE PAUL REFERS US TO. Why? Because Peculiar People walk by the spirit, and not by the flesh. In our temporal life on this earth we are bombarded with difficult situations. However, even as we live in the flesh our life is hidden in God and we who walk in the spirit overcome these situations. “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless, I live, yet, not I but Christ, who lives himself in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me. THERE IS A SONG THAT WAS OFTEN SUNG IN WORSHIPS SERVICES THAT ORIGINATED FROM PSALM 48:1-3  Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. In the city of our God, on the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situations, the God of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the City of the Great King?   ON THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES, THE INGATHERING, THE FIRST NIGHT OF SUKKOTH, SEPTEMBER 30, 2023, AT 4AM, I WAS AWAKENED AND WALKED OUTSIDE TO SEE THE FULL HARVEST MOON. It was an unusually bright night. Prophetically it represented the soon coming harvest of souls about to be ingathered to His Kingdom. Next to the moon shown the planet Venus - the morning star. We know the Morning Star to be another name Jesus gave to Himself in the Book of Revelations. I also saw the Little Dipper shining very brightly as if reporting that His Saints were about to “dip in“ and gather the end time harvest for the Kingdom of God. In this weary season because of the constant assault of evil agendas we often feel as if we are literally on the battlefield of the last days War between Two Kingdoms. Satan's assault, his purpose, is to steal, kill and destroy, particularly from the Saints of God. His method is to first come by fearful thought to distract us from who we are in our spirit man and steal our divine purpose.   MANY SAINTS ARE PRESENTLY BURDENED BY SITUATIONS OF THE WORLD. They are looking to their situations as being more real than God's Word and the power that He has given to them. If your purpose is stolen it is equal to neutralizing you or equal to spirituality killing you. When your eyes are focused more upon the negative situation than on who we are in Christ, then Satan has not only stolen from you, he has robbed you of your true identity. The ‘eyes of our flesh' are then held captive by him as we focus more on the problem than the victory we have in Jesus. He said, “I have come that you might have life abundantly!” We stand as conquerors in Him or we succumb to the trouble and are defeated.   GOD SAYS WE ARE A PECULIAR PEOPLE. Why? We who know our God intimately, walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. We are unmoved by situations. “He who has ears to hear, (he who walks in the spirit realm), let him hear what God is saying to the churches.”   EARLY IN 2022 THE LORD SPOKE TO ME AND SAID, “Live in the history of your future!” Exactly what does that mean? Ask yourself these questions: In the spirit realm how do you envision yourself in the future? What are (or will be) your accomplished results?  What passions did God instill in you and what purpose has He created in you before the foundation of the world?   IN THE SPIRIT, IN THE FUTURE, DO YOU SEE YOURSELF SETTLED AND LOOKING BACK ON YOUR LIFE  HAVING COMPLETED WHAT GOD HAS PURPOSED FOR YOU TO ACCOMPLISH DURING YOUR SHORT SPAN ON THE EARTH?   In the midst of your current situation, according to your future self, do you look back at the present obstacles, the situation that Satan threw at you to trip you up, and see yourself as having overcome it?  Do you envision yourself as confident in the Lord having applied His word and having walked by faith and not by sight? In the spirit you are imagining that you have advanced yourself in faith? Are you living in the years yet to come and looking back to the now seeing how you overcame the situation by the Word of God? That is how you live now “…in the history of your future!” You borrow from your future victorious self and apply that to the present.   FOR EXAMPLE, LOOKING AT A MONETARY SITUATION OF LACK OF FINANCES, IT IS ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED WITH ANXIETY. Scripture says, “Anxiety in the heart of a man weighs it down.” - Proverbs 12:25. IT IS THE DEVIL'S TRAP TO DIVERT YOU INTO EMBRACING WORRY RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON ALL THAT YOU HAVE SUPPLIED IN THE PROMISES OF THE LORD. That same scripture above is completed with “but a good word makes it glad!” In other words, focusing on the Word of God and the promises He made to provide for you are more powerful than any lack you might be experiencing in the natural.   YOU ARE A PECULIAR PEOPLE! You are not moved by what you see, by what present upsetting situations you are going through. “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”  Peculiar People have joy in the midst of natural situations. They override circumstances by faith standing on the promises of God.  In their spirit they see themselves having passed through the “valley of the shadow of death” overcoming these natural situations by remaining confident in what God says about them.   PECULIAR PEOPLE HAVE A FOUNDATION ON WHICH THEY STAND. “Having done all to stand,” (standing firm on the Word and who God called them to be), “stand therefore!” They see themselves, not on the defense, but on the offense, having the upper hand. They confidently wrestle the adversary and rejoice in prayers of thanksgiving. They are resolute in presenting themselves and pleading their case before the Throne of Grace, fully dressed in the armor of God, which is the holy character of the Lord Jesus. They stand in faith stating what scripture says about their situation saying, “God, here is what your Word says about it and I'm holding you to it!” He loves that boldness!   PECULIAR PEOPLE STAND FIRM AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL BECAUSE THEY SEE THEMSELVES AS VICTORS. They envision who they have become in their future self. They know who they are because of what Jesus did on the Cross and who God called them to be. They know their purpose is to bring heaven to earth, to be a present expression that represents the faith of all the great Cloud of Witnesses. Peculiar People already envision themselves as having defeated the devil and as being part of the City of God, the New Jerusalem. This is their future! “Live NOW in the history of your future!” They have already overcome natural situations and the devil's ploy against them. HOW YOU ASK?  “And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.” Revelations 12:11 (Amplified)   FIRST, VICTORY COMES BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. They identify themselves with Christ on the Cross having had died with Him, then having risen with Him where their life is conducted by faith and hidden in the Son of God. Secondly, it is by the word of their testimony, their covenant! They live their earthly lives through Him in spirit over the flesh. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Forever is the spiritual place that is beyond the dimension of eternity. It has no beginning and no end. These saints are hosting Christ in their spirit; therefore, they live through the Alpha and Omega in this life on earth. Thirdly, they overcame Satan in their identity with Christ because they love not their our own lives, their own soul and body, even to a situation of facing physical death. If necessary, in our stand against Satan, we volunteer for martyrdom. How is the possible? Because we have already died with Him!   PECULIAR PEOPLE LIVE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS BY WALKING IN THE SPIRIT, a realm higher than our natural earthly physical life. We live on Mount Zion, the city of the New Jerusalem, along with the victorious Saints who have preceded us. The Morning Star has risen in our heart and we see ourselves for who we are as victors in the spirit. We live now on this earth borrowing on the promise of who we will be in the age to come. We live in the history of our future! We live as the Ingathered. We call those things that are not (presently in the midst of our situations) as though they were, because by faith, in the spirit realm, they already are a reality in the purpose of Christ within us. That is how you fulfill and complete the part of the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples to pray, and to live. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.”   THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU! It is your personal relationship with God in spirit. It is your union with Him in revelation that you are one with God in intimacy. Once that is established, and then you can confidently carry His presence outwardly and exhibit His nature toward others.   YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND RADIATE HIS GLORY. That is what it means to bring His Kingdom on earth “as it is in heaven.”   PECULIAR PEOPLE BRING THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN TO THE EARTH. Stand firm in who you are as the bright Morning Star continues to arise in your heart, even to its brightest, as the light of the full day or noon. Live today in the history of your future. Be Peculiar.   LET'S GIVE THANKS FOR GOD SPEAKING TO US MY FRIENDS! He spoke to Steve that we are to be unusual, peculiar radiant people, filled with the light of Jesus! Thank you Jesus…. For BEING the door of Hope. Revelation 3:8 says, “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.   Isaiah 22:22 declares, “And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. Bible Seeds: Many people have experienced rain, lightning and thunder. And we have ofen counted the seconds between the lightning flash and sound of thunder, although they are not always the same amount of time but thunder consistently follows the flash of lightning. So Jesus Christ's, lightning victory, was real over death! Satan lost control of this world because many of the Christians became "the great opposition" to those who did the deeds of the Devil. "The good news of the gospel" was presented and "salvation offered" to those who would believe in God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit! We are now living in the seconds between Jesus' lightning victory and God's Thunder, the time Jesus will return with His Saints to take possession of the world from Satan and throw him into the great abyss for a thousand years and destroy all his works!

The Divine Praises (Laudes Divinae) is an 18th-century prayer.  It is traditionally recited during Benediction - but can be used at other times, either in a group or individually. The prayer was written in Italian by Jesuit priest Luigi Felici SJ (1736–1818) in 1797. It is intended for making reparation after saying or hearing sacrilege or blasphemy / mis-use of the name of Jesus. It was expanded by Pope Pius VII in 1801, and at some point was translated into English, Latin (and likely various other languages) - the translator(s) are unknown.   The English version is sometimes just called "The Blessed be God". The prayer is traditionally said by having a leader say each line and for the congregation to repeat it - and in this manner,.no visual aids or printed text is necessary (except for the leader).  However other format can be used: the Divine Praises can by prayed individually, or used as the basis of group meditation supported by images and other aids - or in any other way.   DIVINE PRAISES Blessed be God. There are times where the Biblical Authors were intentionally vague, stirring us to meditate on the Scriptures daily. Inviting us to read along with the Holy Spirit to uncover the depths of truth contained within and to grow in relationship with The Father and Son along the way. One thing that is perfectly clear though? Jesus Will Return. He is coming back to be King over all creation and partner with His Saints to do so. The question isn't "If?", but "When?".

Life on the Run | Text: Jonah 1:1-3 Opening Statement: Rather than heading toward Nineveh in obedience to God's word and will you're headed to your Tarshish in disobedience to God's word and will! Which direction are you headed? Nineveh or Tarshish? Obedience or disobedience? That's what chapter 1 is all about! We find this prophet like some of you running in the wrong direction. Let's see what Jonah's story meant then, what it means today and what it means for us personally. I) Jonah Gets a Word from the Lord (1:1-2) A) Jonah Received a Personal Word. Now remember Jonah was a real man who lived in a real place and like today God called him to a task. God had a personal word to say to His servant. You need to know that God still speaks a personal word to us! How? He speaks to us through the Scriptures! He speaks to us through His Spirit! He speaks to us through His Saints! B) Jonah Received a Pointed Word. Verse 2, Do you sense the urgency in those words? “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city” Just the mention of their name brought out the passions of the Israelites. And how they longed to see God wipe them off the map! In fact, I think the main reason Jonah ran was that he knew that if they heard the gospel that they would repent, and that God would forgive them. And rather than forgive them he wanted God to destroy them 4.2! C) Jonah Received a Purposeful Word. And now God instructs His prophet to go THERE to the wicked and godless city of Nineveh to preach the gospel! It was the last place on earth Jonah wanted to go! Verse 2, “cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” II) Jonah Gets Away from the Lord (1:3) And don't think that Jonah was simply running from the will of God, he was running from the presence of God. Now as he tries to run from the presence of God, I want you to notice with me a few things you need to know especially for you who are running from God today! A) Consider the Direction of His Steps. (3) What direction were his steps as he began running from God? D O W N! “He went DOWN to Joppa …. and went DOWN into it ...” Do you see it? He went down to Joppa he went down into the boat. Later we're going to read that he went DOWN into the belly of the fish. Jonah's life was spiraling down, down, down. Learn this: you will never go up while you're living in rebellion against God! Down is always the direction when there is rebellion against God! B) Consider the destination of his ship. (3) By the way whenever you run from God the Devil will make sure that there is a ship for you to get on! Why Tarshish? I'll can tell you why! Because Tarshish was as far away as any place on earth in that day! Most believe that Tarshish was in Spain over 2000 miles from Joppa! Tarshish was as far West as you could go. C) Consider the desperation of his soul. (3) Every time you run in the wrong direction it's going to cost you! There is a price to pay! In fact, the rest of the book of Jonah shows us just how much running from God cost. Have you ever stopped to consider the price you're paying for running from God? Remember the old saying, • Sin will take you further then you ever wanted to go; • Sin will keep you longer than you ever wanted to stay; • Sin will cost you more than you ever wanted to pay. There's a high price to pay for running from God. In Closing: You can run, but you cannot hide from God. It's time you stop running from God and enjoy the fellowship and blessing He longs to give you! How did catechumens live in the ancient Church? How do they live today? Metropolitan Augoustinos (Kantiotis) of Florina (+2010) gives us the answers and instructs us in how the faithful can better assist the catechumens in their preparation to enter the Body of Christ and how catechumens can recognize what the catechumenate truly is and why the ancient Church has much to teach them today. We all are called to follow the Holy Fathers and be faithful to Christ Who manifests Himself in His Saints. 00:09 Homily One: The Catechumens 03:00 The Ancient Church focused on the quality of Christians, not quantity 04:04 On how the Catechumens are to depart from the Liturgy at their appointed time 06:45 Homily Two: For the Catechumens 07:17 Again, quality not quantity 08:33 What do the faithful pray for when they pray for the catechumens? 12:55 Homily Three: Infant Baptism? 13:33 Becoming a catechumen in the ancient Church 15:26 Catechumens are to be given Christian names 16:18 Preparing for baptism at Pascha and the bishop's last words before baptism 18:03 The ancient Church catechesis compared to today; infant baptism; “We seek a free and vibrant Church.” These homilies are found in “On the Divine Liturgy” vol. 1 and can be purchased here: http://ibmgs.org/chatechetic.html Learn more about Met. Augoustinos here: https://orthodoxwiki.org/Augustinos_(... “The ancient Church held catechism to be of great importance. She was interested more in quality than in quantity. A few faithful, dedicated to Christ, were worth much more than hundreds and thousands of people called Christians who did not lead a Christian life. Just as it is impossible to keep an army in fighting condition with soldiers who were never properly trained, so too the living and free Church the Militant, which is conquering and triumphing, cannot exist if all those who want to be Christians are not first instructed in the sacred weapons of the Faith. Untrained Christians are worthless, and nothing noble and important can ever be expected from them. Because the ancient Church used to instruct Her members systematically before baptism, many heroes of the Faith, confessors and martyrs, came out of these ranks of catechumens.” “The catechumens were permitted to attend Church, to stand in a designated place, and attend a part of the Divine Liturgy, but not all of it. They stayed in Church, prayed with others, listened to the readings and preaching; and after the deacon said the Ektenes and other special petitions for the catechumens, he called them to leave the church. Only when they had all left would the Divine Liturgy continue. And because only the faithful attended it, it was called the Liturgy of the Faithful.” This channel is dedicated to sharing the writings and lives of the Saints of the Orthodox Church. It will literally catch you off guard, but it should open your eyes as never before. You will realize how close we are to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us that the Second Coming of Jesus is twofold. First, there is the Secret Coming of Christ for His Saints; that is called the Rapture of the Church. We will immediately be with Christ at that moment in time. There will be a vacuum in this world when believers leave this planet. The Great Tribulation will last for a period of seven years. The first three and a half years will not be as bad as the horrible and disastrous last half of the Great Tribulation. That second half is what we're going to dive into today.

This game played on an neutral site in Jacksonville moved from New Orleans. Game will be played in heat and humidity in Florida so expect points to be put up in the second half with defenses tiring. Packers were the highest scoring team in the NFL putting up 32 points per game. They averaged 40 points per game in their first three last season. Week one so healthy line and playmakers. Jameis Winston wins the starting job following Drew Brees retirement. Taysom Hill will find a way to contribute. Don't see much changing play calling wise as Sean Payton likes the to throw the football. His Saints team in 2020 put up 30 points a game. Saints have a strong running game and offensive line to aid Winston in play action. Play Green Bay and New Orleans over 49.5.

Some people think like this: If there was a God, good people would not suffer...if we can't understand things like death then surely life has no meaning or purpose and therefore we just live and die with no reason...if God really exists He would surely answer the prayers of the desperate. Although these thoughts make sense to many people, it needs to be addressed from a Biblical theistic perspective. This podcast episode does just that. Isaiah 57:1-2 The righteous perish and no-one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints. Ezekiel 33:11. As surely as I live declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die o House of Israel?!

O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.1Thessalonians 4:13-18  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.Zechariah 14:4-9 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.  8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 1Thessalonians 1:9-10 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.1Thessalonians 5:1-9  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.1Thessalonians 5:6-9 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; Every so often, the Lord gives us a small glimpse of His boundless “majesty and power” (Doctrine and Covenants 88:47) through sweeping revelations to His prophets. Doctrine and Covenants 88 is such a revelation—one about light and glory and kingdoms that can make our earthly cares seem insignificant by comparison. Even if we can't grasp all of what the Lord is teaching us, we can at least sense that there's far more to eternity than what we now comprehend. Of course, the Lord didn't speak of these grand mysteries to intimidate us or make us feel small. In fact, He promised, “The day shall come when you shall comprehend even God” (verse 49; italics added). Perhaps it was to that lofty end that the Lord urged His Saints in Kirtland to form the School of the Prophets. “Organize yourselves,” He said. “Prepare every needful thing; and establish … a house of God” (verse 119). For it is within God's holy house—and in our homes—that He can, more than anywhere else, lift our vision beyond the mortal world, “unveil his face unto [us],” and prepare us to “abide a celestial glory” (verses 68, 22).

This week, we try to keep it between the lines in our new "living room" set up.  We discuss section 84, "the priesthood" section.  Many men are returning from their missions and sharing success stories.  They have much joy in The Lord and their labors.  The Lord reveals to them more about the priesthood, what it means to hold the priesthood, and it's power.  We discuss the power of the priesthood that women have.  This section is not just for the men, but for the sisters also.  Join us this week as we get used to our new set up.Come Follow Me Historical Setting:Ever since the priesthood was restored in 1829, Latter-day Saints had been blessed by that sacred power. They were baptized, confirmed, and called to serve by priesthood authority, much like we are today. But having access to priesthood power is not the same thing as completely understanding it, and God had more He wanted His Saints to understand—particularly with the coming restoration of temple ordinances. The 1832 revelation on the priesthood, now Doctrine and Covenants 84, expanded the Saints' vision of what the priesthood really is. And it can do the same for us today. After all, there is a lot to learn about the divine power that holds “the key of the knowledge of God,” that makes manifest “the power of godliness,” and that prepares us to “see the face of God, even the Father, and live”.

The Beloved gave freely, what they thought they took, His gentle silence, hard mistook… Most beautiful, innocent, kind, humble man, my Lord! Lived in obedience to a higher plan, restored. He descended down the steepest fall, Into Hell itself, He broke its wall. He then resurrected to His body again, As proof, alive, over deaths dark shame. From thence Ascending the mighty road, To the Fathers Throne, went He alone. To take the seat at His right hand, And offer this passage to the likes of man. From thence our Lord will descend, At the very end, to conclude the story. He came once in poverty, The second time, He comes in Glory. Strong amassed with all His Saints, To crash again on Hells hot gates. To divide those who would accept His grace, From those who refuse and deny His face.

In this episode, we review the Daniel 7 Chronology in order to show that the consistent theme of Christian eschatology from Daniel through Revelation is a Two Judgment paradigm. (This is not a reference to the Final Great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20), but rather to the strikes of the Stone against the Statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream. In the Two Judgment paradigm, a First Judgment is administered from Heaven against the Fourth Empire (Rome), destabilizing and fragmenting it to create the circumstances necessary for the rise of the Fifth Earthly Empire (the Little Horn of Daniel 7, the Sea Beast of Revelation 13), after which a second judgment is administered against that Fifth Empire (Roman Catholicism). These two judgments are consistently prophesied in scripture as a First Strike of the Stone fragmenting the Iron & Clay Feet (Daniel 2:34) and a Second Strike of the Stone grinding all the empires to dust (Daniel 2:35,45), andthe Ancient of Days presiding over judgment from Heaven against the Fourth Beast (Daniel 7:9-11) and the Ancient of Days (Jesus) administering judgment on Earth against the Little Horn, andthe Lamb of God opening the Seals of the Scroll of Revelation 5 (which are targeted against the Roman Empire, as we will show next), and Jesus returning to destroy the Sea Beast and the False Prophet, casting them into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 19:11-21)Under this Two Judgment construct, Christ and His saints receive a Heavenly Kingdom during the Fourth Empire, during which Christ opens the Seals of Revelation administering the initial Judgment from Heaven against the Roman Empire, creating the circumstances necessary for the rise of Roman Catholicism, the Fifth Empire. Then Christ and His Saints come to earth to execute the second Judgment on Earth against that Fifth Empire, Roman Catholicism, at which time the saints receive their earthly kingdom. The profound simplicity of the Two Judgment paradigm is that in the Fourth Emipire, Christ and His saints receive a Heavenly Kingdom, and after the Fifth Empire, Christ and His saints receive an Earthly Kingdom. Roman Catholicism is that Fifth Empire, thus distinguishing clearly between Christ's Heavenly and Earthly Kingdoms, and between Christ's kingdom and Antichrist's kingdom. We have included a graphic depicting the Chronology of Revelation 12 (as an example of John's use of recapitulation), and a graphic depicting Daniels use of recapitulation in Chapter 7, and finally a detailed graphic showing the Kingdom Chronology of Daniel and John.

Would people say you walk in the light, or walk in the darkness? 1 John 1:6-7 “If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 3. Do you hide your sin or do you confess your sin and seek God's forgiveness in Christ? 1 John 1:8–10 “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.” 4. Are you obedient to God's Word? (1 John 2:3-5 “By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:” 5. Is there evidence of perseverance? 1 John 2:12–14 “I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” 6. Do you love the world and its things or do you love God? (1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” If you were on trial for being a Christian is there enough evidence to convict you? 7. Would your friends and enemies say you practice righteousness? (1 John 2:29 “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.” 8. Do you follow Christ as you seek to maintain a pure life? 1 John 3:3 “And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” Do you see a decreasing pattern of sin in your life? 1 John 3:5-6 “You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.” 10. Do you love other believers and those in the world? 1 John 3:14–15 “We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” 11.

For Church members in the 1830s, gathering the Saints and building the city of Zion were spiritual as well as temporal works, with many practical matters to address: Someone needed to purchase and distribute land where the Saints could settle. Someone needed to print books and other publications. And someone needed to run a store to provide goods to those in Zion. But these revelations also teach that the Lord desires His Saints to become spiritually worthy to be called a Zion people. He calls each of us to be “a faithful, a just, and a wise steward,” having a contrite spirit, “stand[ing] fast” in our appointed responsibilities. If we can do that—regardless of our temporal skills—the Lord can use us to build Zion, and He “will hasten the city in its time."

The Lord Jesus Christ has called us to follow His example. He has called us to reflect His character, His love, and His Truth to people everywhere. Our Christian witness is of "GREAT VALUE" in a fallen society which has lost its way. PEOPLE NEED THE LORD! They need to see that Jesus is Real. They need to know that He is not dead but yet alive in the world through His Saints, His body, the CHURCH. They need to sense His compassion, His greatness, His power, and His love. We are the vessels that He has chosen to use in this dark and destructive world. Let us yield our vessels to Him as instruments of righteousness that His glory may be seen.   John 14:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

In this Episode taken from Ephesians 5:8-11 we continue  to discuss Not only How God wants to 'Expose us Before The World', but that he intends to use us,His Church to 'Restrain' or Hold back evil in the world, as we shine forth our Beautiful Portrait in His Light. {0:43-1:58} Reading of Text Eph. 5:1-11 {1:58-3:00} As I studied this passage vs. 11 was high-lighted to me (reading again vs. 8-11) , this was revealed to me as an answer to the darkness, that is being "The Great Exposure"... {3:06-3:31}   THREE Key POINTS so far 1) We are being developed in God's Darkroom as a beautiful Portrait, that God intends to show off to the world...2) Light is essential for exposure, Exposure is Birthed in Light....3) We are God's Treasure/Inheritance that is protecting in order to reveal this at the right time. { 3:31- 4:12} Col. 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to share in the Inheritance of the Saints In Light.....the word LIGHT comes from the Greek word 'PHOS", from which we derive our word Phosphorus...also in scripture LIGHT is often referred to as "REVELATION" ( Greek= APOKALYPSIS) {4:12-4:28} The Portrait,The Inheritance,, FELLOWSHIP with both God & Man,Light are all crucial for God to Bring about THE GREAT EXPOSURE He desires for this palnet {4:35-5:00} Example of Moses & the right amount of light needed to expose a picture {5:00-5:33} The uncovering, unveiling, revealing of a secret or what is hidden requires a Revelation {5:50-5:56} Only in the Light of Revelation can our Inheritance be found {6:05-6:14} Without fellowship In the Light w/God & the Saints this whole 'Exposure' Process will FAIL! {6:14-6:36} a re-reading of {4:08-5:00} {6:36-6:45} Since Light is so critical to this process lets look @ some more points for clarity {6:45-6:53} POINT #4 Fellowship with God & His Saints will Increase the LIGHT you Have. {6:53-7:38} Proverbs 4:18 "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."  ...Your Masterpiece, Treasure, that God desires to SHINE Through is meant to shine more brightly each day you walk with Him...This increased brightness increases as we walk with Him & have Fellowship with His Saints. {7:38-7:57} Fellowship = KOINONIA  in Greek, meaning joint participation, association, contribution, community, fellowship, intercourse...AND of course we are talking about this taking place with other humans as well as ABBA {7:57 -9:30}  1 John 1:7, NIV: "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."...........Fellowship with God+Saints as we walk together in God's Light...We can never walk ALONE, there are no 'Spiritual Lone Rangers' In The Kingdom of God....We need BOTH the Darkroom experience w/ God+Each other!....The enemy will 'pick off' loners & deceive them.....The sign of a healthy Saint= ONE that is in fellowship WITH the Body of Christ , BOTH creating together Masterpieces, Inheritances,Treasures to show off to the World.....A LONER Lacks Light , is deceived, & the enemy may pick them off! {9:30-11:15} 2 Corinthians 3:18, NLT: "So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord........Some say this 'Mirror' could be our Brethren...that is we reflect God's Glory back & forth between us  as we fellowship together & this will cause us to ascend into Higher levels of God's Glory, light, & Revelation... UNVEILED FACES..speaks of being vulnerable & exposed...JAMES exhorts us to 'confess our faults to each other.'...There is a time to 'open up' about faults & shortcomings with the Brethren..this will foster an authentic brokenness &  humility leading to us burning ever brighter & with more clarity before the world...When we are walking in God's LIGHT we will be drawn to others Walking In Light that have the same hearts...Just as bugs are drawn to light. {11:15 -13:13} FELLOWSHIP brightens the illumination inside of us for enabling God to create the 'Masterpiece' w/in us.....'Iron sharpens Iron'...Also Iron POLISHES Iron as well...EXAMPLES of  dirty 1955  Chevy Belair & Going out with a spot on my shirt compared with allowing ourselves to be cleaned up, corrected, polished by each other in the Body of Christ, too often we are too proud to allow this....However for ABBA to put on 'The Corporate Art Show' he desires with the Body of Christ we will need to be as clean & polished as possible! {13:13 -18:33} POINT # 5 God is Creating a RESTRAINER Both to Expose & Hod back the Darkness....and that Restrainer is YOU & I...we have entered a Time of Darkness as never before in 2020...II Thessalonians 2:1-12 The rise of the Anti-Christ,,,The AX is roaming the earth possibly , yet not yet fully revealed...We could say, that 'The Ungodly Picture' is currently in the development process even now....vs.6 "RESTRAIN" means to withhold, hold back something,...A FORCE of some kind is Holding back something,,,what it is holding back is the revealing & formation of the AX govt....some commentators/scholars believe this WITHHOLDING FORCE to be The Holy Spirit, & I would agree with that, However I see this as The Bride of Christ with God's Spirit inside of them holding back the darkness....that is The Sons & Daughters of God Fully showing forth God's Glory as His Masterpiece...Then the 'Restrainer' will be taken out of the way...I believe that comes through the Rapture....I like the TPT Translation here..."The One Who Now PREVAILS"....as we PREVAIL with God, As we shine Brighter & Brighter we hold Back darkness   {18:37-20:12} DANIEL 11:31-32 The people that KNOW their God, shall be strong & Do EXPLOITS....speaking of End Time events of Jewish  Christians in the Tribulation having the AX take over their temple & eliminate sacrifices....This verse can also apply to our time as The Bride/Masterpiece/Treasure will arise & DO EXPLOITS as we Become that 'Great Exposure' to the world....as God's LIGHTS resisting the darkness...we are also speaking of APOKALYPSIS/Revelation...an uncovering, an unveiling.... {20:13-22:02} RE. 1:1 The APOKALYPSIS of Jesus Christ...21 chapters of end time visions Ephesians 1:17,18 A Spirit of REVELATION....Lk. 2:32 Jesus to bring a light of REVELATION....Romans 8:19 The whole earth groans for the REVELATION of the sons of God...Ro. 16:25 The Bride of Christ will be established by a wore of REVELATION {22:02-23:25  } We as The Church/Bride of Christ are that GREAT EXPOSURE that is beginning to shine brighter & brighter to the world.......I am beginning to believe in this trying year of 2020...with Covid19, Racial riots, unemployment, election uncertainty, that this is the beginning of God's great Exposure to the world as Habakkuk prophesied of the Glory of God covering the world as the water covering the sea {23:25-30:14} Examples of Men/Women of God who processed with ABBA in the Dark room who did great works for God in their Time.....MOSES...perhaps God is calling you as a chain breaker today?...GIDEON.....God saw Him as Warrior that would defeat the enemy......eventually, God's light will 'break out of us' confounding & defeating the enemy...King SAUL....are you hiding today from God's call on your life.....David.....was not even PRESENT for His own anointing as King!...God LOOKS at the Heart!....ESTHER...called out of obscurity she had to be brave & step up, even endangering her life....Have you been called "For Such a Time as This?" ...It may be uncomfortable for You to step out just as it was for Esther..................GET in the Darkroom with ABBA & find out who he wants you to BE...forget your own ideas!......He wants to EXPOSE His sons & daughters to the world to bring Revival, Revelation, Refreshing! {30:14        Ephesians 5:8-11   8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Fruit never strives to bring forth fruit...as it's in the light & well watered a tree brings forth good fruit...we are HIS garden it says in  Song of Solomon...being in His Presence in the Darkroom, the fruit will just begin to develop & will just Flow out from you! You are his Highly favored sons & daughters today & your time for exposure to this world has come! The whole earth is now groaning for the EXPOSURE of God's sons & daughters...this is YOUR HOUR To step up...step out..show courage,,,so be EXPOSED & SHINE!...Hold back & defeat the forces of the enemy...This is Your Time! Amen!

Homily offered by Father Matthew C. Dallman, Obl.S.B., for the Parish of Tazewell County on the Feast of All Saints, 2019. If the Saints were not central to the Christian faith, and if active and living communion with them not obligatory upon all Christians, then we would not, in the baptismal creed of the Church called the “Apostles' Creed,” proclaim a belief in the Communion of the Saints. But the fact of the matter is that we do proclaim our belief in the Communion of the Saints at our baptism. And the Church professes her belief in the Communion of the Saints every morning in Matins and every evening in Evensong. Any feast day that shows up in the creeds of the Church, or can be found by thinking about the creeds, is by definition a major feast. In the creeds, for example, we can easily find Christmas, Holy Week and Easter, Ascension, Christ the King, Pentecost—and in the Apostles' Creed we find All Saints. This should not be surprising, because it was through a communion of Saints that the Church of Jesus Christ was born. One hundred and twenty Saints were gathered in the Upper Room, told to go there by Jesus Christ to await the promise of the Father, the Coming of the Holy Ghost. This was the first Church. Gathered in the Upper Room for nine days were Blessed Mary, whom the Church quickly saw as Mother of the Church, along with other holy women, Mary Magdalene, her sister Martha, Mary the wife of Cleopas, perhaps Peter's mother-in-law; along of course with the Eleven men singled out by Jesus for a particular task, soon joined by Matthias taking over for Judas. It was from and through this communion of Saints, this gathering of Saints, this fellowship of Saints—all of whom were apostles because “apostle” means someone sent and each Saint in the Upper Room was sent there by Christ to wait for the Holy Ghost, and in a more general sense sent by Christ to proclaim to the nations the Truth that can only be found in Him; it was through this all-star communion of Saints: their daily prayer, their breaking of bread, and their fellowship and teaching, that the Church came to be by God's action through them. God acts through His Saints. God reveals Himself through His Saints. God brings about that which is new through His Saints. God transforms the world through His Saints. How does this happen? It happens because the Saints are those people who, in the words of Saint Paul, have the eyes of their hearts enlightened by God. “The eyes of their hearts enlightened”—Paul teaches—so that persons who receive such grace know what is the hope to which God has called us, according to His great might which He accomplished in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and made Him sit at His Right Hand in the heavenly places. It starts with the enlightenment of the eyes of the heart. God accomplishes His mission through those whose heart has enlightened eyes. Not eyes that do not see God in the world, but rather eyes that see God in the world through all things good, beautiful, and true. Not eyes that are impatient with the world, but eyes of patience and humility that look for Him even when He might be hard to find. Not eyes that do nothing but judge others for their sins and inadequacies, but eyes that see Jesus in the face of every person they meet. Not eyes of suspicious, but eyes of love—indeed, enlightened eyes of the heart means the eyes of Jesus, the eyes of His sacred humanity. Eyes of compassion and mercy, eyes that forgive—eyes through which grace in its fullness can be found, because such eyes of the heart is Christ in us. Brothers and sisters, all of this is biblical Christianity, and this is why churches such as ours who seek to participate in historic, sacramental Christianity usually take a Saint as a patron of the parish—in our case, Saint Paul, and in our sister congregation, all the Saints. And, likewise, this is why God has led our Parish to see Saint Teresa of Calcutta as our patron of our Mission in Tazewell County. She is a powerful example for us of how to embody the Gospel as we encounter others in our day to day lives. “We are to be Christ to the world, and to every person we meet,” she teaches us. “The greatest disease in the West today is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for,” she teaches us. “Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you,” she teaches us. That teaching is the Gospel. Through that teaching, Christ acts. Through that teaching by this Saint, God reveals Himself. Through that teaching God brings about that which is new. And through that teaching by this Saint, who in her words captures what's fundamental about Christ's teaching to His Church, through that teaching God transforms the world. Let us be led, brothers and sisters, by this teaching—led in our mission in Tazewell County. Icon by the hand of Aidan Hart.

The Old Testament context of this parable. How the "Prosperity Gospel" fails when we look at the life and teachings of Christ and His Saints. St. Paul calls Christians to live a "worthy life" in Christ. The Law of Moses was meant to gather a stiff-necked, childish people to make them His "People" awaiting the coming of the Messiah.

Here is an in-depth explanation of how to do meditation and contemplation with sacred art, and how it helps to transform us in preparation for the highest prayer - liturgical prayer. As you pray, keep in mind two sayings:'Success in prayer is not measured by how we feel during the prayer, but from the work we put in', and 'in spiritual matters, it is in the trying that we are successful.'Remember also, the spiritual life is about happiness, but while meditation and contemplation can be very pleasant experiences, they can also be dry and distracted. If we give this our best shot, it will contribute to our general happiness not simply to a feeling during the prayer itself. Here we go!I start by doing a short meditation of gratitude - in which I list 10 or so items from the day that are good and thank God for them; and a review of conscience in which I look at my resentments and fears, acknowledge my sins and ask for forgiveness (see the daily routine in The Vision for You book).1. Exclamation: Blessed be God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three persons and one God. Praise: Psalm 116 (117) O praise the Lord all ye nations, praise him all ye peoples, for his merciful kindness is more and more toward us; and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Penitence: Lord have mercy (3 times) Petition: Father, may the Holy Spirit lead me to Jesus, in Jesus Name, Amen. Prayer from the heart: Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions). Repeat this prayer as a way of eliminating distraction. If thoughts occur during let the good ones go through to their resolution and even be ready to write it down if its something worth remembering. If it is a bad thought, refocus on the Jesus prayer. At the end of these eight meditations, I pray an extended period of contemplation. I set the clock to 15 minutes and repeat the Jesus prayer again (I will mention this at the end also).2. Exclamation: Blessed be God, in His angels and in His Saints. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Oh you saints and angels in heaven, pray for me to Lord our God, that I may have all that I desire most deeply and all that is good for me, but only in accordance with His will. Father, hear our prayers, in Jesus Name, Amen.Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)3. Exclamation: Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Mary, Mother of God, please show me your Son. Pray for me to the Lord our God, that I may have all that I most deeply desire, and all that is good for me, but only in accordance with His will. Father, hear our prayers, in Jesus Name, Amen. Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)4. Exclamation: Blessed be Jesus Christ, True God, and True Man. Behold the Lamb of God. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Oh God, take away my sins and the fears and resentments that arise from them. Let me die with you spiritually through baptism Amen. In Jesus' name, Amen Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)5. Exclamation: Blessed be Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, my Lord and my God. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Oh God, let me rise spiritually through confirmation and through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)6. Exclamation: Blessed be Jesus Christ, ascended into heaven and seated at the right hand of the Father, and the Holy Spirit the Paraclete descending upon us. An alternative image might be PentecostPsalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Oh God, let me partake of the divine nature and enter into the mystery of the Trinity through the Eucharist in the sure and certain hope of bodily resurrection after death. In Jesus' name, Amen Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)7. Blessed be God, Our Father in Heaven whom I behold through Jesus in the Spirit. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Petition: Oh Father, grant all that I deeply desire and all that is good for me in accordance with your will. In Jesus' name Amen Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)8. Blessed be Jesus Christ and His Mystical Body, the Church, transfigured and shining with uncreated light. Psalm 116 (117), Lord have mercy (3 times)Oh God, let me shine with the Light of Christ as I go out into the world that I may draw others to you, for their joy and peace and Your greater glory. In Jesus name, Amen Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner (8 repetitions)Extended contemplation: Then the contemplation stage begins. I always repeat Jesus Prayers as described in order to eliminate distraction, while being alert to other thoughts that crop into my mind. I follow the good trains of thought and if necessary write things down so that I can remember them afterwards. If bad thoughts occur I focus more on the repetition of the Jesus Prayer.Philippians 4:6: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.Book: The Wellspring of Worship by Jean Corbon.Book: The Spirit of the Liturgy by Benedict XVI

Acts 12:1-17 There are seasons in life’s journey where the calamities of this world come to visit the door of the righteous and the unrighteous alike. Sorrow and sickness, death and disease, trials and tribulations, all come at their appointed times and there seems to be no discrimination as to where they fall and come to rest. How does one explain the ‘why’s’ of how some of God’s godly Saints are taken home in the prime of their life and service; why some are left in sickness and are not healed? Is there injustice with God? Can we charge God with evil? The truth of the matter is that we see only through a glass dimly, the reflection is poor and sketchy. Limited to our own fixed time and space dimension, we tend to view things with tunnel vision only ever having in focus our immediate need at a particular moment. Yet, has it ever occurred to you that God is aiming at the bigger picture, that may well not involve your deliverance in this present world for reasons known only to the Almighty “...who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” (Eph. 1:11)? There are some answers that perhaps we will never know this side of eternity and yet still we’re called to trust in the ever living God who never changes and who works all things for the good of His Saints.

Podcast (17m21s): Play in new window | DownloadThe Drama of the Mass: Written into Church Buildings Episode one concluded with a brief mention of the role of drama in the Mass. The Mass is that sacramental (or mysterious) sacrifice Jesus that breaks down the divisions between God and man by pleasing the Father so much, through the obedience of His Son on the altar, that it more than makes up for the debt of sin. Since this is not a bloody, but a sacramental, sacrifice, the death of the Lord is made present not through the blood and glore of the cross, but through the double consecration of the bread and the wine, and through all of the details of the Mass which act as a dramatic representation of that sacrifice. The symbols and drama of the Mass speak not only of the sacrifice of Christ, but also of the unity that God wants to establish between heaven and earth, between God and all of creation, “in the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, to restore things in heaven and on earth” ( Eph. 1:10). This Drama is Built Right Into the Church BuildingThe archetypal church building is positioned as if at the center of all of creation. It faces the East, the rising sun, which points to Christ, and it is often shaped like a cross, for through the cross is the "reconciliation of all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through His blood" (Col. 1:20). On the far eastern wall, which represents Heaven, is placed a cross, for we have access to the Father only through Jesus. Often the reredos or altar piece is built in the fashion of a gate. On it is placed the likenesses of angels and saints. The ceiling is sometimes filled with stars. The walls and pillars often have the likenesses of vegetation, as if this were a garden. It is like the church building is a mini-cosmos, a microcosm. We, at the crux between heaven and earth, occupy a unique position in the plan of God. We are spiritual beings, persons with free will and understanding. We are bodily beings. Unlike rocks and stars, we must fulfill our nature voluntarily and so give glory to God. Unlike angels, our nature is biological and material. "You made man a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor" (Ps. 8:5).Taking up our place in the cosmos, we worship God both "in spirit and in truth" (Jn 4.:24) and also with our bodies. Our bodies enter into the divine worship. They serve to "make visible the invisible, the spiritual and the divine" (St. John Paul II) and to help effect mystically the worship of God, the propitiatory sacrifice, and plan of God for union of all things in Christ. This Is Called “Sacramentality”When we hear the word "sacrament", we're used to thinking about the seven sacraments. But there is a broader sense of the word too, and we get the word "sacramental" from this. Something is sacramental when it represents and helps to bring about a reality beyond itself. This is also part of what we've been calling the drama of the Mass. By things like water, incense, statues, icons, and so forth, in the Church and the Liturgy we made present the plan of God: our salvation. The Body Has a Special Role in SacramentalityWe praise God as male and female (cf. 1 Cor. 11), and we praise God by what we do with our bodies. By baptism, we die with Christ, are raised to newness of life, and adopted as His children. In the Mass, it is in the reception of the Most Holy Sacrament that the sacrifice is brought to completion, and so the Blessed Sacrament is received, according to the formula of the East "for the the remission of sins and for life everlasting."These are big ways that our body participates in the worship of God. There are also smaller, but not unimportant details. We kneel to show adoration and beg for mercy. We genuflect and bow as a sign of honor or adoration, and of reverence to God and His Saints. We stand as a sign of our dignity as children of God and our willingness to march forward as part of the army of God. The priest raises his hands in the orans position as a sing of praying, when he is praying on our behalf. We fold our hands as a sign of submission to God when we pray. We make the sign of the cross as sign of faith, as a prayer for God's blessing, and as a minor exorcism against the devil. The priests blesses with the sign of the Cross to set something apart from divine service. The priest also makes the sign of the cross to indicate that something is holy. There are many more gestures, postures, symbols, etc, that we do as part of the Western, Latin tradition of Catholicism. Doing these gestures is a form of prayer. They help to form us. But prayer is also interior. Doing what is exterior helps to form the interior habits, but praying interiorly gives meaning and power to these external actions. In this way, there is an reciprocal relationship between how we pray exteriorly and how pray interiorly. The two together participate in our worship of God and help to sanctify us.GuestsMichael and Joseph are joined by Aaron for today's podcast. Today's host(s): Scot Landry and Fr. Matt Williams Today's guest(s): Jon Niven and Heather Flynn of LIFT Ministries Links from today's show: Today's topics: LIFT Ministries and the God of This City tour Summary of today's show: LIFT Ministries and the God of This City tour present Catholics of all ages with a beautiful and contemplative experience of Eucharistic adoration coupled with energetic and contemporary music and talented and prayerful speakers. While LIFT occurs each month at Fontbonne Academy, for Advent the God of This City tour brings LIFT to all five regions of the archdiocese. Scot Landry and Fr. Matt Williams are joined by Jon Niven and Heather Flynn to talk about the birth of LIFT five years ago at St. Mary parish in Dedham, how it has grown and matured, and how it continues to reach ever wider audiences of people seeking to encounter the Lord in an uplifting environment of praise that complements their experience of the Eucharist at Mass. 1st segment: Scot asked Fr. Matt about the Jesus in the North End event last Friday evening. It's a monthly gathering of young adults. They start at 7:30 with Eucharistic adoration until 8:45pm. It's at St. Leonard's in the North End of Boston. Some stand outside the church inviting people to come in and say a prayer. They've been doing these for 3 years. For the first time in 3 years, the Fire Department showed up to have them put out the little fire they light every month in front of the church. Next time, Fr. Matt said they'll just put up loads of incense smoke. Scot asked Fr. Matt if he's prepared for the new English-language translation of the prayers of the Mass. He said he's ready for them. They're so much more beautiful and richer. The connections with Scripture are beautiful. He's look forward to it elevating his own prayer life. He noted that Fr. Shawn Carey, who works in the Pastoral Center, is a deaf priest and he was involved in creating the signs in Sign Language for the new prayers of the Mass. Fr. Matt is looking forward to today's show because he is closely involved in LIFT Ministries and the God of This City tour. 2nd segment: Scot asked Heather Flynn what inspired the start of Lift Ministries five years. Heather and Jon were both working in the Life Teen program at St. Mary's in Dedham. She'd been feeling God's calling to expand her ministry beyond the parish and she's had a love for praise and worship music that she shared with Jon, who was music director for Life Teen at St. Mary's. They'd heard about a ministry in Louisiana, called Door, that's similar to Lift. Jon Niven said Lift nights begin with some praise and worship. Then they have a speaker come in, whether a local lay person, a priest, a bishop, or national personality, to speak on a theme. Then there is time for Eucharistic adoration followed by more praise and worship. Jon said the contemporary praise and worship music makes it unique in the Church. He said they're not changing the Church or her teaching and traditions, but instead are using the means of the culture to say, “Hey, we're here.” Heather said on an average night it's about 300 people, but they've had up to 800 people. What makes it unique is that while they're geared to teens and young adults, they do get all ages. Fr. Matt said when Heather and Jon first came to him, as parochial vicar at St. Mary's, Jon had also gone to Phoenix to see some similar such programs. They approached him at the end of a long day when he was exhausted from work, they told him their idea for a young adult outreach. His first reaction was “Don't we already do that?” because he was so busy. He “yucked” their “wow”, but Heather in her great charity said they would take him out for lunch another day. He told them he didn't want to do any of the administrative or planning work, but just wanted to show up and do priestly things. So when he walked in to the first event, he was expecting a garage band. But instead he was impressed by their professionalism. Heather said the goal of Lift nights is to give people an experience of being in heaven, because that's what worship is. So everything they do in the backdrops and lights and props is trying to give people and experience of what it might be like to be in heaven. Scot said seeing everything done in a first-class professional and beautiful way leads people to that experience of heaven. Fr. Matt said environment helps you realize that there is something special going on here. He said the aspect of praise and worship music comes from our Jewish tradition and the Psalms. They used cymbals and stringed instruments with singing and dancing in the Temple. Those who are in the presence of God are singing unto the Lord and worshipping him. It's singing hymns of love to the Lord. It starts with praise that is upbeat and then worship takes you into a heart of God. This isn't liturgy, but it is a form of prayer that ultimately leads you into deeper communion with the Lord, another way of entering into the stillness of God's love for us. Scot asked Jon what he's hoping to do so the music leads people to Christ without distracting them from prayer. Jon said the most important thing is to get out of the way. Too many worship leaders try to force worship. Step back an let God shine. From a technical standpoint, it's simple. There's nothing complex musically to distract, especially during adoration. As musicians they step back. Scot asked Heather how you prepare an auditorium like one at Fontbonne Academy as a suitable place for adoration. She said they do them in a series over three months with a particular topic. If the topic is the Blessed Mother, they bring in a statue of Mary and flowers, for instance. As we go to break, we hear a clip from Jon's 2008 album, “Show the World.” 3rd segment: Fr. Matt said Lift for some is an initial outreach to introduce some to the Lord as well as an opportunity for those who already know the Lord to go deeper in relationship with him. Fr. Matt said if you listen to Jon's music or Matt Maher, the words are beautiful, theologically and scripturally based, help you to prayer, and in a musical setting that appeals to all ages, but particularly young people. He said they are committed to bringing in wonderful dynamic Catholic speakers who break open the Lord's Word. From there they move into Eucharistic adoration. One of three things happen: they could be in complete silence, Fr. Matt could lead them in prayer, or Jon could play a hymn. Some people want silence. Others aren't comfortable with silence and need something to help lead them. The mix of prayers helps people to enter into a comfortable attitude of prayer. They aren't rocking out to music, but praising God in a more traditional manner. Heather said the theme of the most recent season was “Get a Life.” The first night talked about how to surrender our lives to Christ, the tools the Church gives us to help us do that, and how do we listen to God and discern what he's calling us to. Starting in January will be a series of right to life issues. The Cardinal will be speaking in February. Fr. Matt said this will act as a precursor to the March for Life, which the Office for the New Evangelization of Youth and Young Adults sponsors for youth from Boston. Fr. Matt said they are focusing on respect life issues is partly because of the push to legalize physician-assisted suicide in Massachusetts. He wants to focus young people on this defense of the dignity of human life. Scot asked Jon how Lift has changed in the past 5 years. He said in the beginning they were enthusiastic but didn't know what they were doing yet. Over the course of five years, they've slowed down and started to let the Lord lead, like in choices of music that fit the theme or being in the moment of adoration. They have grown and learned to listen. Also as a band, they've learned they're not just a band. They are called to reflect Christ's light, so they take the focus off of themselves and re-focus it on Christ. Heather said there are some people who've gone to almost every single Lift, but every month they also get a bunch of people raising their hands to show they were new. Scot said George Martell takes photos of each night and posts them on . Scot asked why it complements going to Sunday Mass. Fr. Matt said people who tend to go to Eucharistic adoration and develop a love for it, they start going to Mass more than once per week. There is a concern out there that too much adoration puts an unbalanced focus on adoration above receiving communion, but that's not Fr. Matt's experience. He said adoration gives an opportunity for silence to reflect on Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist, where there isn't that much silence during the Mass for that reflection. That experience helps people to go to Mass with greater fervor. He said there at least tow men who have entered seminarian after becoming regulars at Lift. They know at least several converts to the faith as well. Scot recalled Jon saying that he's learned over 5 years to slow down more. However, Mass moves on at a fast clip and you're already anticipating the next step. Heather said they help people to get a taste of what Lift is like through the video on their website, but it's hard to convey the experience without experiencing it for yourself. Fr. Matt said you're walking into an environment of faith, a room filled with people who came to pray, which can have a big impression on someone who's not yet practicing their faith with fervor. He said in sports, the home team feeds off the fervor of the fans. After the next segment, we'll hear a clip from Jon's new song, “Glory to God Forever” which is the theme song for this year's God of This City tour. 4th segment: It's time to announce this week's winner of the WQOM Benefactor Raffle. Our prize this week is CD with Study Guide and Workbook by Fr. Robert Barron. Join Father Robert Barron for this engaging presentation concerning the Seven Deadly Sins, those great spiritual blocks that inhibit our flourishing in relationship wtih God and one another. Based on Dante's writings, the seven deadly sins correspond to the seven stories of Dante's Mt. Purgatory. Pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice and lust are all presented as patterns of dysfunction within us that lead to unhappiness. Father Barron tells us how to counteract these seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition, which are the Seven Lively Virtues. The Seven Lively Virtues offer antidotes to each sin and help set us on the right path to healing and happiness. This CD can be used for personal reflection and examination of conscience or in a class or group setting, followed by discussion or meditation, using the Study Guide and Workbook. This week's benefactor card raffle winner is John & Mary Rose Sullivan from Woburn, MA. Congratulation, John and Mary Rose! If you would like to be eligible to win in an upcoming week, please visit . For a one-time $30 donation, you'll receive the Station of the Cross benefactor card and key tag, making you eligible for WQOM's weekly raffle of books, DVDs, CDs and religious items. We'll be announcing the winner each Wednesday during “The Good Catholic Life” program. 5th segment: the God of This City tour will take place all next week, Monday, November 28 to Friday, December 2, in a different place each night. The God of This City tour evolved out of Lift and is a collaboration between Lift and Office for the New Evangelization of Youth and Young Adults. Jon said the first year of God of This City was a song by Matt Maher. Last year was “Our God”. You want the song to be scripturally relevant and true and energetic. The song reminds him to slow down and give it all to God. Scot asked what's different about God of This City. Heather said it's pretty much Lift on the road around the Archdiocese. They already do some events of Lift on the road when they're invited to parishes and schools. The main difference is they're in churches and so the logistics is a little different. Fr. Matt said they saw that Lift has met with much success and has been a great blessing, but they often hear people say it's so hard for people to get to Fontbonne Academy in Milton on a Tuesday night. The tour gives them a chance to go to the five regions of the archdiocese. But it's also a recognition that it's a powerful ministry that can reinvigorate the faith of everyone. They don't say who the audience for Lift of God of this City is so everyone comes. Fr. Matt said Pope John Paul II said our parishes must become an all-pervading climate of prayer. On Monday, they will be in St. Mary's in Dedham with Fr. Matt as speaker whose theme is “Enthroned in Heaven”. On Tuesday, they will be at All Saints in Haverhill where Fr. John Capuci will speak on “Enthroned in the Hearts of His Saints”. On Wednesday at St. Bernadette in Randolph, John Bettinelli will speak on “Enthroned on the Altar”. On Thursday at St. Agnes in Reading, Sr. Florencia Silva will speak on “Enthroned in Our Hearts”. On Friday, Sr. Olga Yaqob will speak at the cathedral on “Enthroned in our Lives”. Heather said they do get some people who go to all five events. She said anyone who goes to all five events, she'll give them a free t-shirt. Scot asked about the topics which all reference “enthroning.” Fr. Matt said enthroning refers to a king and it marks the beginning of his reign. Jesus is enthroned in heaven, not because of his domination, but because of his humility and self-emptying. He is enthroned in heaven because of his obedience to his Father and all of heaven bows in worship to the Lord. The second night connects to confession. That leads to the Eucharist on the third night. And from there it's the lives of the saints and the last night, Sr. Olga will talks about bringing Christ enthroned out into the world. This is a preparation for Advent. Jon said leading people who may have not prayed this way involves patience and being willing to teach the people. Jon said the benefit of this style of music is that it's catchy and very singable so people pick it up very easily. Scot asked about putting up the big screens and setting up the environment in a church. Heather said they visit each parish and figure out how to make it all work and how to do so respectfully. Fr. Matt said they have a great reverence for these as liturgical space and houses of worship. They're not there to take away from the beauty or meaning of the space, but to help people pray in. Fr. Matt said they also offer confession from 8-9 pm each night. Scot said he tells his friends that if they feel awkward going to confession with their own parish priest, big events like God of This City offer a good opportunity to find a priest you don't know. Fr. Matt said if you can only come to one night, go to the Friday night at the cathedral.
