Hello Friend!     We hit 100,000 downloads last week, so in appreciation, for everyone that adds a rating and review, I am going to put you in a drawing for $100 amazon gift card!!!  You just need to send me an email at monica@claimingsimplicity.com letting me know you left a review with your user name.  If you have already left a review, share with a friend and add me in your instagram stories and tag me and you will be entered in the drawing as well!  This podcast wouldn't be as successful if it wasn't for all of you, so I appreciate you all!     I really want to talk today about 3 areas where you can easily simplify your life to live more intentionally with ADHD.  As I have talked about a few times here, I have never been diagnosed with ADHD, but I have many characteristics and that is really why I had to simplify my whole life to live with more intention.  I really enjoy slow living with my family now and I wouldn't have it any other way.  When I was working as a full time nurse with 5 kids at home and all the activities and sports, it was exhausting, but once I changed the way I lived, I was able to quit my full time nursing job which gave me so much freedom to how I spend my days & more time with family.     The first area you can simplify is your cooking, if you haven't followed claiming simplicity on instagram, you should do that now.  A large portion of many family's budgets goes to food, but it doesn't have to.  I can show you how a family of four can eat dinners on $75/week and that is nutrient dense, healthy meals.  You don't need fancy expensive meals and you certainly don't need to buy convenience foods at the store but instead learn to cook simple homemade meals at home on a very low budget.   Next, declutter your home.  Living with less stuff really reduces stress.  You will also feel less overwhelmed when you have less stuff to care for - start with one room of you home and see the difference.  Always make sure you carefully think about each item you bring into your home.  I am going to do another declutter challenge, so email me if this is something you would like to be a part of.  It is for busy moms, so it will be steps you can't quickly declutter in a short amount of time.   And lastly, you will want to reduce debt, living debt free can be rewarding in so many ways.  If you are spending more than you bring in, think about where you can make changes.  I will be doing another no spend challenge starting January first and this time I am going to do all audio.  If you are interested in joining, please reach out by email or DM me on instagram!   And with all of this, make sure you are putting Jesus at the center of it all!   Love you friend!  Have a blessed week ~Monica Instagram -> https://www.instagram.com/claimingsimplicity/ Email -> monica@claimingsimplicity.com

Have you ever told yourself you're “burnt out,” but deep down, you're not sure if that's the real issue? In this episode of The Raquel Show, I open up about one of the biggest traps entrepreneurs, agents, and leaders fall into: mistaking being uninspired for actual burnout.I've been there—hitting the goals, closing the deals, and yet still feeling flat and wondering, is this it? And what I've learned is this: when we confuse uninspired with burnout, we start making the wrong moves. We step away from opportunities, think something is “wrong” with us, or even consider burning our business to the ground… when really, what we need is a spark.

When we talk about health, most of us focus on diets, exercise programs, or even the latest weight-loss medications. But one element rarely gets enough attention: living with intention. Intentional living isn't just a feel-good buzzword. Research shows that when our daily habits align with our values, we see measurable improvements in blood sugar, blood pressure, immune function, and even cancer risk.  In fact, intentional living creates a powerful feedback loop: reducing stress hormones like cortisol, strengthening resilience, and anchoring us in self-love rather than self-criticism. Without this intentional foundation, even the “best” diets or medications can backfire, leading to muscle loss, burnout, or self-sabotage. On the flipside, small, value-driven changes act like compound interest, adding years of vibrant life to our “health bank.” How do we actually make intentional living sustainable? How do we rewire identity, self-talk, and even our microbiome to support long-term health? In this episode, I'm joined by Dipa Chauhan, a retired pharmacist turned functional medicine provider, author of Healing Habits, and creator of the Living Light Metabolic Reset Program.  After surviving life-threatening childbirth complications and reclaiming her health through nutrition, self-love, and lifestyle choices, she now helps others make intentional living both simple and sustainable. Together, we unpack the science, spirituality, and daily practices behind intentional health, and why even the smallest steps can transform your energy, resilience, and future.   Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -Why identity matters more than willpower Unaddressed negative self-talk sabotages positive changes. How do you create the identity shift that makes new habits stick? -Personalized nutrition decoded Everyone responds to diets differently. Why do Mediterranean or paleo-style diets work differently depending on your genetics and microbiome? -Eating the rainbow, simplified What happens to blood sugar, immunity, and gut health when you build meals around color diversity? -Navigating social events with intention It can be challenging to stick to good eating habits in social settings. What practical strategies help you stay aligned with your values without missing out on connection or joy?   Guest Bio Dipa Chauhan is a Functional Medicine and Weight Loss Expert, co-founder of The Living Proof Institute, creator of the Living Light Metabolic Reset, and author of Healing Habits. Have you ever said you're “anxious” or “burned out,” only to realize those words don't really capture what's happening inside you? The way we label our emotions shapes how we experience them — and when the language is off, so is our path to healing. In this episode, I'm joined by author, creator, and mindfulness expert Case Kenny to talk about how mindfulness becomes powerful and practical when it's rooted in language. Case shares how guided journaling and emotional vocabulary can help you move past vague “forest words” into precise truths that open the door to optimism, self-trust, and more authentic connections. We also dig into how so-called “negative” emotions — what I like to call dark emotions — aren't obstacles to avoid but important signals that can strengthen your growth and your relationships. Hey mamas, Today we're flipping the script on one of the most overused (and misunderstood) phrases out there: work-life balance. For years, we've been told to picture balance like a scale… work on one side, life on the other, perfectly even. But here's the problem: that image sets us up for guilt, burnout, and disappointment. Because your job should never weigh the same as your entire life. In this episode, I share a fresh perspective I use with my coaching clients: balancing stones. Instead of a scale, picture those beautiful stacks of rocks you see at the beach or on a hike. Each stone is a different size and shape… some massive, some tiny. And yet, when carefully placed, they create something stable and beautiful. That's what balance actually looks like. Not equal weight, but intentional placement. What You'll Learn in This Episode: ✨ Why the traditional idea of work-life balance doesn't work (and what to do instead) ✨ How to identify your personal “stones”… the roles and values that matter most in your life ✨ Which stones belong at the foundation of your stack (hint: it's not work or house chores) ✨ Why health and self-care aren't selfish extras but essential stabilizers ✨ The small, everyday stones that bring the biggest joy and stability ✨ Three practical ways to keep your “stack” from wobbling or crashing down Episode Highlights: The Foundation Stone: Why family, health, and core values should anchor your life. The Big Stones: Work, marriage, spirituality, passions, and house maintenance… and how to keep them in their proper place. The Small Stones: Why little moments (like a walk, coffee with a teen, or a bedtime story) often bring the most stability. 3 Tips for Balance: Rebuild regularly, check your base, and accept the wobble. My Challenge for You: Grab a notebook and write down your stones. Which ones are the biggest? Which is your foundation? Where do you need to restack? Because balance isn't about perfection… it's about intention. And when you choose your stones with care, you can build a life that's stable, beautiful, and uniquely yours.
