How Wellness Content Fuels ConspiraciesWhat starts as a search for natural living or homegrown veggies can slowly become something else entirely. In this episode, we follow the personal story of Kavisha Pillay, a digital ethics expert who unexpectedly found herself pulled into the “tradwife” aesthetic while simply exploring homesteading and wellness content online. We explore how seemingly wholesome spaces—like DIY cleaning tutorials and sourdough baking videos—can become subtle entry points into conspiratorial thinking, anti-feminism, and radical ideologies.Helping us unpack the cultural context is Catherine Rottenberg, professor of sociology and author of The Rise of Neoliberal Feminism, who explains why traditional gender roles are resurging online—and why they're more complicated than they appear.Text me your feedback and leave your contact info if you'd like a reply (this is a one-way text). Send me a text!Finding alignment and the ability to return to yourself again and again supports resiliency as you navigate the waves of life. Alignment isn't a fixed state we achieve once and then maintain effortlessly—it's something we come back to again and again. It's especially important during times of transition, uncertainty, or change. When things feel off, it's not a sign of failure, but often a signal to pause and check in. This practice of reconnecting to yourself helps you make choices that reflect who you are and what you value. Whether you're facing a major life shift or engaging the small, repeated decisions of daily life, cultivating a relationship with yourself through the practice of alignment helps make clarity feel more accessible and easeful. In this episode of Mindset Unlimited, I invited Kim Romain to join me in a conversation about cultivating a practice that supports finding alignment and the ability to return to yourself again and again. Some of what we talk about in this episode includes:How to tell the difference between belonging and fitting inWhat alignment really feels like—and why it's not about perfectionUnderstanding supportive resilience (as opposed to the societally weaponized)Reclaiming your power to choose, even in hard moments Through this episode, you'll learn how to work with alignment as a living practice—one that supports clarity, resilience, and choice through both major transitions and everyday moments. Larry O'Nan brings over 50 years of experience in Christian nonprofit fund development to share transformative insights about biblical stewardship. After unexpectedly losing his dream job in music ministry, Larry discovered his true calling when handed 28 boxes of unclaimed pledge cards worth nearly $2 million. This moment launched a career that would revolutionise how Christian organizations approach funding and partnership development. Throughout this conversation, Larry challenges common misconceptions about stewardship, explaining how it encompasses far more than just financial giving. He shares the powerful concept of "freedom to fail" that enabled him to build one of the largest fund development entities in Christian work, growing from a desperate situation to managing 125 people across seven departments. His book, "Intentional Living and Giving," offers both theological foundations and practical guidance for understanding our role as stewards of God's resources - including our time, talents, and treasure. Larry's approach transforms fundraising from transactional exchanges into genuine partnerships where people own the mission alongside the organisation. At the time, they were simply going through the motions of life, without truly living. They open up about the power of mindset and how thoughts fuel feelings and actions. They describe their pre-surgery routines—ignoring hunger cues, overeating in secret, avoiding movement, and placing themselves last. Now, their lives are centered around intentional self-care, walking, connecting with loved ones, and finding daily joy. Identity in Christ: "When God is enough, you are enough." Pam discusses the freedom that comes from understanding your true identity in Christ rather than comparing yourself to others. Mind-Body-Spirit Connection: Our spiritual, mental, and physical health are all connected. "Getting it in the whisper means something different to me now because I've learned how to recognize who that whisper is—the Lord." "You cannot change anything until you change something you do every single day." Practical Application: Start your day with intentional quiet time with God before checking phones or devices Practice journaling prayers and listening for God's responses Prepare the night before by setting out items needed for morning routines Respect the hours of your day by "framing" your mornings and evenings Make conscious choices about nutrition and movement as stewardship of God's temple Connect with Pam Shaw: Instagram: @PamelaShaw LinkedIn: @pamelawaldropshaw Facebook: @allthingspamelashaw Get your 90 Day Planner & Prayer Journal: Website: PamelaShawPink.com YouTube: Pamela Shaw www.pamelashaw.pink Resources Mentioned: 90-Day Design Your Life Live Your Vision Planner Prayer Journal "The Sabbath" by Abraham Heschel Dr. Caroline Leaf's work on mindset and brain health "Living Fearless" by Jamie Winship Head over to www.cherissehixson.com and join our Email List after hearing this weeks episode with Pam Shaw and be entered to WIN 2 Giveaways from Pam Shaw "90 Day Planner" & "Prayer Journal". My son recently sent me a text with a big question about how to live an intentional life. As moms, we're all trying to figure out how to make the most of this experience. How to balance all of the different stressors and demands while also enjoying the process. You'll Learn:The big question my son asked me (and what I told him)Some of the goals and feelings I've chased over the years. How to figure out what you want (so you can actually get it)Why you may not be following through on what you want (and how to overcome those hurdles)The time I got jealous and climbed Half DomeIn this episode I'm sharing his question, my response, and how to embrace intentional living and motherhood.----------------------------------------The Big QuestionThis is the text I received at 2:11 am…Hey. This is a pretty random text, but I've been really wondering - How do you live every day to its fullest without wishing you had done something? In life, we only get to live every day once, and I can't seem to grasp how to make each day the best it could be, because regardless of what I do, there's always some alternative thing I could think of that I should have done. I really just wanna make the most of my college years, because they're flying by. Before I know it, I'm gonna be 21… As someone who's lived through college and has a pretty fulfilling life, it seems to me, I'd love to hear your thoughts about this. ..It also just seems so hard to stay rooted living in the present and feeling gratitude for what you have.Wow. I've talked to a few moms about this same thing recently. There are so many things that we feel like we should do, but yet we might be missing out on the richness of the moment and living life to the fullest. The key to making the most of each day is intention - understanding what you want, how to get it, and bringing yourself back to the present moment over and over again. Intentional LivingThere are four ways I've cultivated more intention in my own life. These are all things you can do right now to start feeling better about the way you spend your days. Work toward a goal. To me, living intentionally means having really specific goals. When I have a goal, it gives me clarity about what I'm supposed to be doing each day. I like to know what I want and where I'm going. I've noticed that if I don't know what I'm working toward in my life, I end up in a restless no man's (or no woman's) land, this mindless haze of nothingness. Some of my goals over the years have been to be a really present and loving mother. To have a good marriage. To have a strong body. A beautiful home. A meaningful career. To make money. To travel. To have good friends. To be honest with myself and others. To be helpful to others. To grow as a person - especially in feeling less insecure. To have fun. Having a goal, meaning, and purpose helps me to structure my days. You don't need to think of yourself as a super ambitious person (I'm not). Intention doesn't have to be big. But it requires that you look at what you want, and how you can make it happen. And sometimes you have to ask yourself really hard questions to figure it out. Chase a feeling. In addition to my goals, I'm also really intentional about how I want to feel in my life. The most common feelings that I chase are joy, fun, and lightness (though I love seriousness, too). For a long time, I had a lot of anxiety, so I was chasing calm. Now, from that calm place, I want to feel joy. I also want to feel proud of myself and my work. I want to feel grateful. So I work a lot on my mindset - practicing thoughts that...

Trusting God's Timing in a Hurry-Up World In a culture built on instant gratification and fast results, trusting God's timing can feel unnatural—even impossible. We're constantly told to hustle, push harder, and take control of our destinies. But the truth is, when we surrender our timeline and desires to God, it leads to a richer, more fulfilling life. Understanding God's Timing It's easy to assume we know what's best for our lives. We make plans, set goals, and chase what we believe will fulfill us—only to find that our best-laid strategies often fall short. But God's timing isn't just different—it's perfect. When we root ourselves in biblical truth, we can step back from striving and lean into the promises of a God who is never late. His timing may not align with ours, but it always aligns with His purpose. Trusting God's timing means believing that He's orchestrating something far greater than what we can see today. Navigating Seasons of Waiting Waiting can be one of the hardest things we do. Whether it's waiting on a relationship, a job opportunity, healing, or a sense of purpose, it's natural to feel doubt, fear, or even frustration. It's crucial to recognize that it's not about denying these feelings but understanding that they are part of a larger, orchestrated plan. When fear and doubt whisper that we're falling behind, we must remember: trust God's timing. Intentional Living in a Fast-Paced World We live in a world that equates speed with success. But the kingdom of God often moves at a different pace. Jesus was never in a hurry, and yet He fulfilled every part of His mission. We are invited to do the same: to live intentionally, not reactively. To trust God's timing, we must actively resist the pressure to keep up with the world's pace. That means setting boundaries, evaluating what truly matters, and making space for rest, prayer, and spiritual discipline. When we do this, we trade anxiety for peace—and burnout for purpose. Both in person and online, but I also am passionate about working with my hands - Getting in the dirt, making bread and being available when my goats and pigs are birthing. I enjoy teaching you as a busy working mom to save money so you can eventually be at home raising their own kids because I don't believe there is a more important job~especially in the days we are in.
