Send us a Text Message.Happy Wine Wednesday! Terence is back with me to wrap up our coverage of the SPECTACULAR second season of AMC's Interview with the Vampire. This was truly a bittersweet occasion because I have had such a blast talking to Terence about this amazing show and I'm sad to say farewell (for now) to the show and to my weekly chats with Terence about it.We had a lot of fun talking about these messy vampires in this finale episode. We start the episode by delighting in Louis getting his lick back and serving up some fiery revenge to those coven bastards for what they did to Claudia and Madeline. And of course we talk about the brilliance of Jacob Anderson as he captures Louis's madness. That final showdown with Santiago was EVERYTHING. Ben Daniels will truly be missed, but what a sendoff that was for his character who got the whackings he deserved from Louis.Next we talk about the SHOCKING revelations about the trial, which came as no surprise because Armand has repeatedly been revealed to be a lying liar who lies. We can't say enough good things about this cast, including the delight that Eric Bogosian brings to Daniel Molloy as he calmly and methodically ramps up to reveal to Louis that it was Lestat who saved him.We can't wait to see that home wrecking Daniel Molloy adjust to life as a vampire in Season 3. Speaking of Season 3, we are SO ready for rock star Lestat and to see where things stand with Louis. The Loustat reunion scene was so beautifully acted, so y'all know we had lots to say about it. Thanks so much for listening to our coverage! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!Be sure to follow and support Terence here: his website, his Twitter account, and his IG. After plenty of requests for coverage, we're finally caught up on AMC's Interview with the Vampire S01. Spoiler alert: we both strongly recommend this. Qualms about Sam Reid's accent aside, this show has everything: hot sex, unabashed queerness, race and class critiques, and Bailey Bass is as Claudia. Plus: thirsting after Jacob Anderson, vibing with Eric Bogosian's interviewer, and anticipating Ben Daniels in S02 Questions? Comments? Snark? This Summer, Dino Fetscher will appear in the second season of the Apple TV+ sci-fi series FOUNDATION. The Emmy and BAFTA-nominated series created by showrunner David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Triology, The Sandman) chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilisation amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. The series stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Ben Daniels and Lou Llobell. He's currently filming FOOL ME ONCE for Netflix, an adaptation of the novel by Harlan Coben also starring Adeel Akhtar, Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley. Shaken by two murders. Maya Stern (Keegan) watches security camera footage of her house sees her murdered husband Joe (Armitage) back as an intruder. Meanwhile, Abby and Daniel, her nephew and niece, are trying to find the truth about the murder of their mother and seeing possible connections between both cases. In 2021, Dino made his National Theatre debut in the first major European revival of Larry Kramer's seminal play THE NORMAL HEART described as ‘poignant and powerful' by The Guardian, largely based on Larry's own experience of the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s in New York. Dino played the role of 'Felix Turner', Ned Week's closeted lover, for which he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Olivier Awards and WhatsOnStage Awards in 2022. After graduating from The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Dino made his screen debut in Russell T. Davies' critically acclaimed BAFTA nominated and RTS winning Channel 4 drama CUCUMBER and sister series BANANA, before starring as the lead in the ITV/Netflix thriller PARANOID alongside Indira Varma, Lesley Sharpe and Robert Glenister, followed by the cult BAFTA nominated sci-fi series HUMANS (Channel4/AMC) in the role of new synth ‘Stanley'. Dino is also known for his role in the globally praised BBC/HBO drama YEARS AND YEARS penned again by Russell T. Davies and starring alongside Emma Thompson, Rory Kinnear and T'Nia Miller, and in the BBC/HBO historical award-winning drama series GENTLEMAN JACK created by Sally Wainwright and starring Suranne Jones. Further theatre credits include DIRTY, GIFTED & WELSH (National Theatre of Wales), AS IS (Trafalgar Studios) and GHOST STORIES (Arts Theatre).
Jeff Daniels has done many things on screens and stages in his career. One of the things he has done that hasn't gotten as much attention as his roles in The Newsroom, To Kill a Mockingbird or Dumb and Dumber is playing music on stages and studios. He's been putting out albums since 2004 and, on many occasions when I was a DJ at WHFR in Dearborn, I've played his music on my radio program. Take your negative preconceptions about an actor picking up and guitar and singing and put them away. He's good. Damn good. His son Ben has also been releasing albums with his Ben Daniels Band since 2008. He's also a talented recording engineer. In the home studio on Jeff's property, the two of them collaborated on Audible Original audio program called "Alive and Well Enough." If you choose to listen, and I recommend you do, you will be treated to stories and songs from Jeff's life. We sat down on September 25, 2023 in the same studio the audio book was recorded and discuss that and more. There are no borders when it comes to commerce, which means there are no borders when it comes to business disputes and litigation, either. In addition to evidence and witnesses being spread across continents -- from Chicago to Shanghai to Sumatra -- nations' various rules and traditions governing discovery is another substantial complicating factor. Navigating these complexities requires specialized tools, a thorough understanding of how they do things from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and how to get your case over hurdles not seen in the U.S. Listen to my interview with Benjamin Daniels of Robinson+Cole, an experienced litigator and advisor to financial institutions and global corporations. As a member of the firm's Business Litigation Group, Ben provides creative and ardent advocacy during litigation, enforcement actions, investigations, crisis management, and white-collar defense matters. He received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Also, and this is important, Ben had very nice things to say about Switzerland. I hope you enjoy the episode. Today, she is currently starring in a brand new production of Medea, directed by Dominic Cooke at the brand new @Soho Place Theatre. The show explores the themes of injustice and revenge, and Marion kindly took the time to discuss how the show has remained relevant throughout the years. The acclaimed theatre, television and film director, Dominic Cooke, chats to us about his new production of Euripides's classic tragedy, ‘Medea', starring Oscar-nominated Sophie Okonedo as Medea, spurned wife of Jason, hellbent on brutal and bloody revenge. Dominic explains why all the male parts are being played by Ben Daniels and tells us why he decided to stage it at Soho Place, the first new purpose built theatre in the West End for 50 years. Most people will know the devastating, bloody climax to the story, and Dominic tells us why he wanted to direct such a harrowing play and elaborates on what Sophie Okonedo brings to the role. We finish this episode with a tribute to Kit Hesketh-Harvey, the brilliant, wickedly funny entertainer, writer who has died suddenly. Kit and McConnel, his regular cabaret act with musician James McConnel, has been delighting and outraging audiences here and abroad for many years. As our guest twice, we celebrate Kit's extraordinary career and treat you to a clip of him talking to Ed and me about the joys – and importance - of pantomime and playing King Rat in Dick Whittington.

Unfortunately, it was not a happy occasion; early that afternoon, Valerie's boyfriend, Ben Daniels, got a phone call telling him that his 9-year-old daughter from a previous relationship had suffered an epileptic seizure while taking a bath and drowned. He had rushed to the hospital where she was taken only to learn that doctors had been unable to save her life.Shortly before 9:30 pm that night, Valerie called her brother and was chatting with him when she heard a knock on her front door. Since Ben still hadn't returned home from the hospital, Valerie told her brother she needed to go so she could see who was at the door. This is a time machine!!!!!!! We're launching a new series on the podcast dedicated exclusively to the stories of LGBTQ+ elders. Over the last five years, it's the interviews with the oldest members of our community that have connected the most with our listeners. And that goes for me too. Speaking to people like Miss Major Griffin Gracy, Magora Kennedy, Cleve Jones, Charles Silverstein, and Tracey "Africa" Norman is where I've found the most inspiration. This Tuesday (3/1), we're kicking things off with Barbara Satin, a faith leader and 87-year-old trans woman from Minneapolis. If you have any suggestions for LGBTQ+ elders who have amazing stories that you think we should know about, shoot me a message. I'd love to hear about them. Here are links to the different voices heard in this episode: Mark Segal, Charles Silverstein, Ben Daniels (from The National Theatre in London's production of A Normal Heart), Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and Kate Bornstein. LGBTQ&A is hosted by Jeffrey Masters and produced by The Advocate magazine, in partnership with GLAAD. Follow us on Twitter: @lgbtqpod

So many actors feel the need to deliver a performance in rehearsal. And yet, rehearsal is not a performance, nor should we expect what we do in rehearsal to be “the final performance”, but a work in progress, a building of the elements that will eventually lead to performance. Rehearsal is an opportunity to try new things, dig deeper, make sure that we have a specific relationship with everything we talk about. That means giving ourselves permission to *be* in rehearsal. It means *slowing down* to make sure every moment is clear and filled. As an outstanding example of this, we hear veteran actor Ben Daniels in rehearsal for The Normal Heart at the National Theatre. In a time where we are inundated with superhero shows that dare to be different, here's another one. Developed for Netflix by Steven S. DeKnight, Jupiter's Legacy is the superhero drama series based of the Image comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. Sang Kyu Kim served as showrunner. Luke and Jae check out this new series, which stars Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter. Shortly after his father's suicide in 1929, former businessman Sheldon Sampson creates a superhero team called the Union of Justice, and his guiding ideals – never kill anyone, never interfere in political matters – remain unchanged over the near-century of his adventures as The Utopian. However, the next generation of superheroes, including his children, struggles to live up to his rigid ideals and high expectations. When Sheldon's son, Brandon, seemingly kills one of their greatest foes, it ignites a public debate over whether those ideals are still relevant.

Jupiter's Legacy is an American superhero streaming television series developed by Steven S. DeKnight, based on the Image comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, that premiered on Netflix on May 7, 2021. The series stars Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter. The central figure is the Utopian, but to his family, he is merely Sheldon Sampson (Duhamel), a man struggling between being the family patriarch who’s attempting to instill some morals in his now-grown children, and being the flawless, visionary superhero the world needs. Filling out the gaps of the immediate family are his wife Grace (Leslie Bibb in a fitting come full circle moment since the first Iron Man) aka Lady Liberty; his brother Walter (Ben Daniels) aka Brainwave; his son, Brandon (Andrew Horton) aka The Paragon, who is trying desperately to live up to his father’s image; and estranged daughter Chloe (Elena Kampouris) who has left the superhero life behind to pursue the celebrity route. In Episode 26, Amy and Diego, with guest host Mark, take an in-depth look at Jupiter's Legacy, starring Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Andrew Horton, Elena Kampouris, Matt Lanter, and Mike Wade. Jupiter's Legacy is based on the comic book series of the same title. This Netflix original series takes the comic series, changes some storyline items and focuses on the central idea of worthiness and the question of "should superheroes kill?" The series tells the story of a union of superheroes who are nearing the time when they should pass the mantle to the next generation, but are unsure of their worthiness, while balancing the alternate story of how these same superheroes proved their own worth to gain their powers. Amy, Diego and Mark give their thoughts about the series, as well as discuss what else is coming up for them on Netflix. Disclaimer: No members of the Boomtron Podcast are employed by Netflix, nor do they have any business ties with the Netflix corporation. Hey, y'all - just Joel here. I first met Lukas back in 2013 at an ice cream social during "Welcome Week" at Western Michigan University. I was an incoming freshman and Lukas was a sophomore. We both were music composition students so naturally, I chose to make him my friend. We spent the first year of our friendship finding out all the ways that we are similar. We spent the following seven years finding out all the ways that we are different. Follow @3rdPersonPodwww.Patreon.com/3rdPersonPodwww.3rdPersonPod.com
Prepare for some turbulence. Passenger List Season Two, starring Kelly Marie Tran, Ben Daniels, Rob Benedict and Colin Morgan is scheduled for arrival spring 2021.
Martin Phipps is the featured guest on this Score to Screen podcast. The Crown: Season Three composer reveals how he captured the emotions of each character to allow the audience to lean more into the drama. Listen to Phipps discuss his experience working alongside show creator Peter Morgan and his team of directors. The third season of The Crown sees a new guard sweep into Downing Street, as Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family struggle to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing Britain. From cold-war paranoia, through to the jet-set and the space age – the exuberance of the 1960s and the long hangover of the 1970s – Elizabeth and the Royals must adapt to a new, more liberated, but also more turbulent world. Written by Peter Morgan, The Crown also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as The Duke of Edinburgh, Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Ben Daniels as Lord Snowdon, Jason Watkins as Prime Minister Harold Wilson and Charles Dance as Lord Mountbatten. Coming from a musical background, Martin studied drama at Manchester University. Fortunately for the acting profession, he decided to concentrate his energies on writing music. Since scoring his first TV drama, Eureka Street (2002), he has won 2 BAFTAs and 5 Ivor Novello Awards, and gone on to write music for many of the most interesting series of recent years, including the BBC's War and Peace, Hugo Blick's Black Earth Rising, Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror. Martin's credits include the Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds movie Woman In Gold (scored with Hans Zimmer), Fox Searchlight's The Aftermath, starring Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård, Harry Brown and Brighton Rock. The Score to Screen podcast series is produced and hosted by Crossover Media's Max Horowitz. Listen to The Crown: Season Three Soundtrack here and get the vinyl here. Ben Daniels first hit the comedy scene in 6th grade at a Catholic school talent show, crushing with jokes about French cooking and Jell-O ™ pudding. Despite his groundbreaking debut, he finished 7th. Behind a group of 4th grade girls doing a choreographed dance of TLC's “Waterfalls”. Heartbroken, he withdrew from the stage until 2011 when he decided to “chase a waterfall”. Things have gone swimmingly since then. Ben has performed all over the country, including Avalon Theater, The Comedy Store, Flappers Comedy Club Burbank, Atlas Theater, Cozzy's Comedy Club, and Jammin' Java. He's had the privilege to share the stage with the likes of Erik Griffin, JC Currais, Rob Cantrell, Creed Bratton, Jason Weems and Dave Coulier. Netflix Audience Numbers Netflix audience numbers have been a mystery for some time now. World wide Netflix has 130 million subscribers but what and how much they are watching have never been disclosed by the streaming service. In a letter to shareholders Netflix has revealed some of its audience numbers and plans for 2019. We present and discuss this letter on today's show. In its first 4 weeks on Netflix, we estimate that Bird Box from director Susanne Bier will be enjoyed by over 80 million member households, and we are seeing high repeat viewing. In combination with our other movie hits such as: Dumplin' from director Anne Fletcher, Chris Columbus-produced The Christmas Chronicles, Alfonso Cuarón's critically acclaimed ROMA, Paul Greengrass' 22 July, Tamara Jenkins' Private Life and the Coen brothers' The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, we are beginning to have our original movie offering mirror the success of our series offering for consumer enjoyment. The global reach of our audience and the quality of the experience producing for Netflix continues to attract the world's top directors. We are expanding the film market: while our films drew bigger and bigger audiences in Q4, the North American box office also set records. Today, five weeks after its Netflix debut, ROMA is still being exhibited in theaters and has played on over 900 unique screens around the world, including some special 70mm format presentations. People love films...at home and in theaters. Around the world, our titles are not only pleasing consumers, but they are transforming the careers of our talent. Elite, our Spanish original, has been a huge success with over 20 million member households around the world enjoying the series in its first four weeks on service. In addition to being highly watched, social engagement has been phenomenal and the cast's popularity on social media skyrocketed, continuing to demonstrate our ability to be a launching pad for talent. We were very pleased with our launch of ”You” three weeks ago; we estimate it will be watched by over 40 million member households in its first 4 weeks on Netflix. This binge-worthy show started as a Lifetime linear series in the US, but is now a full Netflix global original. A week ago, we launched Sex Education from the UK and it is also tracking to be a huge hit (estimated over 40 million households watching the title within the first 4 weeks). Netflix films and TV shows picked up five 2019 Golden Globe wins, including Best Comedy Series for The Kominsky Method and Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Michael Douglas and Best Actor in a Drama Series for Richard Madden from Bodyguard. Alfonso Cuarón won the Golden Globe for Best Feature Director and Best Foreign Language Feature for ROMA. As a result of our success with original content, we're becoming less focused on 2nd run programming. For example, we launched our originals strategy for the unscripted genre only two years ago. Today, Netflix originals, like Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, account for a majority of total unscripted view share on Netflix, while viewing of all unscripted programming has increased meaningfully during that time. We are ready to pay top-of-market prices for second run content when the studios, networks and producers are willing to sell, but we are also prepared to keep our members ecstatic with our incredible original content if others choose to retain their content for their own services. Looking forward in 2019, we will be launching many new highly-anticipated titles including The Umbrella Academy (February 15th); Triple Frontier from J.C. Chandor (March); The Irishman from Martin Scorsese; 6 Underground from Michael Bay; and The Politician from Ryan Murphy; as well as returning seasons of The Crown led by a new cast including Olivia Colman, Ben Daniels, and Helena Bonham Carter; 13 Reasons Why, La Casa de Papel, Elite, and, of course, Season 3 of the epic Stranger Things, coming to members all around the world on July 4th. In the US, we earn around 10% of television screen time2 and less than that of mobile screen time. In other countries, we earn a lower percentage of screen time due to lower penetration of our service. We earn consumer screen time, both mobile and television, away from a very broad set of competitors. We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO. When YouTube went down globally for a few minutes in October, our viewing and signups spiked for that time. Hulu is small compared to YouTube for viewing time, and they are successful in the US, but non-existent in Canada, which creates a comparison point: our penetration in the two countries is pretty similar. There are thousands of competitors in this highly-fragmented market vying to entertain consumers and low barriers to entry for those with great experiences. Our growth is based on how good our experience is, compared to all the other screen time experiences from which consumers choose. Our focus is not on Disney+, Amazon or others, but on how we can improve our experience for our members.

Greg Hill was a member of Wil Harts “original” Delfonics for more than 15 years. As the second Tenor in Will Harts Delfonics, Greg toured the United States and abroad performing for audiences worldwide. Greg performed on the 2005 PBS Special “Soul Legends” and also recorded an album with Wil Harts Delfonics entitled “Fonic Zone” that was featured on the “Unsung” TV Series. This CD also included a single with Platinum recording artist Rick Ross that was distributed by Universal. After many years of touring & recording with Wil Harts (an original Delfonic) Greg decided to depart from the group and began touring with his own Delfonics “Tribute Show” which is called Greg Hill & The Delfonics Revue (no relations to William Hart or the Delfonics trademark) Greg and his Delfonics Revue has been in existence and touring for over 10 years and has established a solid fan base throughout the United States and abroad. The groups first concert appearance was in 2002 in which they co-headlined with Melba Moore and the rest is History! Current member’s of Greg’s Delfonics Revue include “2nd tenor” Tommy Moore and “1st tenor” Ben Daniels formerly of the stylistics Revue. The Delfonics Revue stage show is filled with some of the Delfonics greatest hits like: La La means I Love You, Didn’t I Blow Your Mind, Ready or Not & many more….just to name a few. The original Delfonics is well known for their smooth harmony and legendary choreography that has brought them worldwide fame so needless to say, with many years of histry and knowledge behind him, Greg hill along with Tommy Moore and Benny “Primetime” Daniels continues to tak the legendary “Sounds of Philly Soul” to a new level in sight and sound. When you want the very best in classic soul…..”Feel the magic” of Greg HILL
After an extremely long period, it's audio commentary time! This go around, Phil, Paul and a returning Tony tackle The Daemons, episodes 1 & 2 in the first of a two part commentary. And even after such a long time between commentaries, the three of them have learnt nothing. It's still shambolic and they barely pay any attention to what they are watching as Tony unleashes his "facts" on Matthew Corbett and his contribution to the set design of The Daemons and thrill as they watch a U.N.I.T member phone a chat line. And in a very slapdash news section this week, they cast their eyes over the 50th Anniversary trailer shown on Saturday night, Moffat's teasing over the amount of regenerations, what really happened with that casting rumour on Ben Daniels, some 50th Anniversary cocktails and in Omega's Tat Corner there is one helluva lot of mintage.
With Kirsty Lang. Lee Evans, Peter Kay, Ross Noble, Sarah Millican, Alan Carr and Milton Jones are among the host of comedians releasing new DVDs aimed at Christmas shoppers. Comedy critic Stephen Armstrong discusses the stand-up boom, and whether any of the DVDs is worth a second viewing. Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels star in Haunted Child, a new play by Joe Penhall. A small boy and his mother struggle to understand why the father abandoned them to join a religious cult, and his motives for returning to the family home. Julie Myerson reviews. The artist Graham Sutherland is the focus of a new exhibition curated by Turner Prize nominee George Shaw. Sutherland, who died in 1980, produced a wide range of work, including landscapes, images of the Blitz and portraits, including one of Winston Churchill, which was loathed by Churchill's wife. Writer Alexandra Harris and art critic Richard Cork reflect on Sutherland's current reputation. Composer Joshua Cody was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer when in his early thirties. He charts his experience of treatment and his reaction to the diagnosis, whilst aiming to avoid what he describes as the classic cancer memoir. Instead, he describes his morphine delusions, and the comfort he found in writers, poets and artists. Crime writer Mark Billingham loves a good narrative. And particularly in pop songs. He raises a glass to Two Little Boys, Copacabana and Bohemian Rhapsody, as there's nothing better than a good yarn with a beginning, a middle and an end set to music. Producer Katie Langton.
