This episode of The Rizzuto Show is what happens when a comedy podcast tries to stay organized… and immediately fails. We kick things off with March Movie Mayhem — a full-blown bracket of the greatest 90s movies ever made. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. The crew quickly spirals into heated debates over matchups like Scream vs I Know What You Did Last Summer, Tommy Boy vs Austin Powers, and the absolute emotional warfare of Pulp Fiction vs The Matrix. It turns out nostalgia is personal, and everyone's childhood is apparently “correct.”But the chaos doesn't stop there. We uncover which iconic movies didn't even make the bracket (Jurassic Park?! Goodfellas?!), and suddenly it's less “fun contest” and more “who hurt us during the selection process.”Then the show pivots — because of course it does — into the mystery of Banksy possibly being solved. After years of anonymity, the internet might finally know who's behind the art… and now everyone's asking: does that ruin the magic, or just make rich people feel better about spending millions? And just when you think things couldn't get weirder… enter Punch the Monkey. Recently abandoned, bullied, and dragging around a stuffed toy, Punch is now thriving with a girlfriend and living his best life. Naturally, the internet is invested, and yes — we care way more than we should. From there, it's a rollercoaster of celebrity chaos: Mick Jagger reconsidering life, Willie Nelson dropping his 156th album (and emotionally wrecking the room), terrible wax figures that should honestly be illegal, and a whole lot of random nonsense that somehow makes sense in the moment. This is your daily dose of chaos, nostalgia, and sarcastic commentary — exactly what a comedy podcast should be when it refuses to take itself seriously.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Rizz Show has officially abandoned March Music Mayhem… because apparently Breaking Benjamin winning every single year got a little predictable. So this year we're doing something way more dangerous: March Movie Mayhem. That's right — 32 legendary 90s movies enter the bracket, and only ONE survives. Action movies, teen comedies, horror classics, and iconic dramas are all battling it out in a full-blown cinematic showdown. We're talking Shawshank Redemption vs Fight Club, Pulp Fiction vs The Matrix, Tommy Boy vs Austin Powers, and yes… some of these matchups feel like emotional crimes. The gang debates which movies deserve to survive round one, which films might sneak in as dark horses, and why trying to pick the greatest movie of the 90s might be the most impossible task since explaining the plot of The Big Lebowski to someone who's never seen it.Listeners can fill out their own bracket for a chance to win Pointfest tickets and a giant basket of 90s nostalgia (because Learn loves bundling baskets more than most people love their own family). But the movie madness is just the beginning. We also dive into the latest Oscars chaos, including Conan O'Brien roasting Hollywood, Timothée Chalamet accidentally starting a war with the opera and ballet community, and the ongoing tradition of people pretending they watched all the nominated movies when they absolutely did not.Elsewhere in today's show:• The Oscars recap nobody asked for but you're getting anyway• Michael B. Jordan's big win and the speech everyone actually liked• A tribute to legendary filmmaker Rob Reiner• Why Glenn Danzig buying kitty litter somehow broke the internet• Motorhead news that surprised the entire rock world• Bert Kreischer's tour bus literally catching fire• And the wild rumor about an actor secretly dating an AI chatbotPlus we wrap things up with birthdays, ridiculous celebrity gossip, and the kind of conversations that make this comedy podcast feel like hanging out with friends who absolutely should not have microphones. If you love movies, pop culture chaos, and sarcastic morning show nonsense, this episode of The Rizz Show delivers all of it.And remember: when the brackets start, friendships may end.Because picking between The Matrix and Pulp Fiction should probably require therapy. This episode of The Rizzuto Show is your daily dose of ridiculousness — a comedy podcast fueled by nostalgia, weird news, and the kind of debates that can only happen when a group of radio hosts start arguing about 90s movies before the coffee kicks in.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO. Airports were not ready for Rafe this weekend… and honestly, Rafe might not have been ready for them either. In this episode of The Rizzuto Show, Rafe takes us on a full travel disaster tour: missed connections in Denver, mysterious “red” flights with no pilots, TSA chaos, and a late-night sprint through the Southwest terminal with a little help from a gate agent named Nancy. Somewhere in the middle of it all, a good deed turns into a $50 airport karma moment… and somehow Lambert Airport still ends up catching the blame.Meanwhile, the gang debates whether Lambert is actually terrible (spoiler: opinions are strong), discusses airplane armrest etiquette like civilized degenerates, and shares stories from the weekend including Lerner accidentally destroying her own surprise brunch celebration and Rizz potentially insulting his neighbor's giant kid-hauling van. It's travel horror stories, airport meltdowns, and the usual St. Louis funny morning show chaos you'd expect from your favorite sarcastic crew. The Rizz Show has officially abandoned March Music Mayhem… because apparently Breaking Benjamin winning every single year got a little predictable. The crew swaps horror stories about delayed luggage, gate-checked bags that disappear for a week, and why seasoned travelers say never surrender your carry-on unless you absolutely have to.From there, the conversation veers straight into one of the most chaotic segments of the day: Sexy Time Fun Facts. The question seems harmless at first: How many people have you kissed in your lifetime? But once the numbers start coming out, the studio turns into a full-blown investigation. Some of the crew claim modest totals… while others reveal totals that sound like they might require a spreadsheet.Naturally this launches a hilarious debate about high school make-out culture, spin-the-bottle parties, first kisses that went terribly wrong, and the awkward reality that a lot of us learned how to kiss through trial, error, and very patient teenage partners. And then things get even stranger. The show discovers a bizarre new study ranking which states in America are the most “well-endowed.” The crew attempts to guess the winners, defend their home states, and question the extremely suspicious math behind self-reported statistics. Let's just say the results lead to a lot of Midwest pride, a lot of skepticism, and a lot of jokes that probably shouldn't be taken seriously.Somewhere along the way the gang also debates why 80% of men give their anatomy nicknames, what the weirdest ones are, and how a medical campaign is trying to use those names to get men to actually pay attention to their health. It's another unpredictable ride full of weird news, embarrassing stories, and the kind of chaotic conversations that somehow make perfect sense on a morning comedy podcast. If you enjoy ridiculous debates, awkward personal stories, and the kind of sarcastic humor that only happens when friends with microphones start oversharing, this comedy podcast episode delivers exactly that.Welcome back to your daily dose of chaos from The Rizzuto Show — the comedy podcast where nothing stays on topic for long.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.The Urology Foundation launches bold #NameIt campaign tapping into surprising creativity of British men's anatomy nicknames - from Big Ben to Long Dong SilverWell, hot dog! Before Pulp Fiction made Quentin Tarantino a household name, there was Reservoir Dogs — a film so raw and transgressive it was banned in the UK for years, circulated on pirate VHS tapes, and became the blueprint for an entire generation of filmmaking. A guy who worked in a video store in LA wrote and directed this. Wrap your head around that. Richard Lewis, MonteCristo, and Thorin kick off Four Play's Tarantino Arc with the film that started it all. They dig into why Reservoir Dogs was banned in the UK (and what the Jamie Bulger case had to do with it), how Tarantino's background as a video store clerk — obsessively watching foreign cinema and genre trash alike — produced one of the most assured directorial debuts in film history, and why this movie, despite its reputation as a "video nasty," has a surprisingly low body count and a genuine soul underneath the blood. The crew breaks down what makes the non-linear storytelling genius rather than gimmick, unpacks the iconic Mr. Blonde torture scene and what Michael Madsen brought to that role, makes the case for Steve Buscemi's Mr. Pink as the film's true protagonist, and explains how the K-Billy Super Sounds of the 70s changed how soundtracks work in movies — commercially and culturally — forever. This is the beginning of Four Play's deep dive through Tarantino's career. Coming next: Pulp Fiction. The arc is just getting started. Mint Mobile — If you like your money, Mint Mobile is for you! Today on Mystery Crate, we've got a loaded show.Zas debuts Big Ass Story Time with an emotional trip back to Magic Johnson's unforgettable 1992 NBA All-Star Game moment. Jeremy finally gets the floor to defend his Bam Adebayo superstar take after Bam's wild 83-point performance sparks chaos, conspiracy theories, and plenty of hater energy. Then the crew dives into a Quentin Tarantino tier list, arguing over where classics like Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, Kill Bill, and more actually belong. Plus: Jess has thoughts, Jeremy tells a Broadway story involving Daniel Radcliffe, Roy recaps losing to a bunch of children in barbecue, and the whole show somehow becomes exactly what Mystery Crate should be: loud, chaotic, and ridiculous.Featuring:-Zas' Big/Old Ass Story Time-Jeremy defending Bam Adebayo-Quentin Tarantino movie tier rankings-Roy's Key West barbecue recap-Jess, naturally, having something to say Learn more about your ad choices. A brief take on layered metaphorical masking in The Boondocks, showing how Aaron McGruder's satire stacks voices and cultural references, linking Samuel L. Jackson's role in Pulp Fiction, Donald Rumsfeld's infamous “unknown unknowns,” and a cartoon performance of political critique, to reveal how masking can function as comedy and cultural remix. Send a textEver yell at your screen because the boom mic is right there? We sat down with Chicago filmmaker Will Adams to unpack how he turned the internet's favorite “bad movie” moments into a sharp, self-aware comedy that has audiences laughing with the filmmakers instead of at them. From fake eating and no-blood gunfights to the infamous not-really-kissing kiss, Will bakes the jokes into the script, then lets pros like Damon Williams, Adele Givens, and B. Cole deliver them with perfect timing. We dig into why writing is the single biggest lever for indie film quality and how a tight script can survive rough edges that fancy cameras can't hide. Will lays out a practical blueprint—write first, lock locations, then cast with dates—and explains why unstructured improv often wrecks continuity and pacing. As a director, he owns the vision, coaching performances until the line clicks because “that's a cut” is a promise to the audience. His Chicago upbringing—code-switching between grandma's grammar lessons and South Side cadence—shows up in dialogue that sounds lived-in, not lab-built, and in his refusal to box Black stories into endless gangster reruns. We also talk distribution and discoverability, the power of watching comedy with a crowd, and the music puzzle: why he partners with a composer to nail tone while dodging rights landmines. Will's influences span Pulp Fiction and Snatch, structures where every character is the star of their own thread before everything collides. That DNA shapes the film's spine, preventing sketch chaos and rewarding attention with layered payoffs. Before we wrap, Will teases Fluke—think Atlanta meets Curb Your Enthusiasm—about an out-of-work actor who keeps failing upward, proof that there's room for fresh, funny, human stories that don't recycle the same tired tropes. If you're hungry for smarter laughs and better craft, hit play, share the link with a note, and tell a friend what gag destroyed you. In this high-energy, provocative episode, the guest host (filling in for Derek Hunter) delivers a raw, uncompromising breakdown of the reported deaths of the Iranian Ayatollah, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and dozens of high-ranking regime leaders. Drawing on his years working for Rush Limbaugh, the host argues that the "mystery" of how to handle tyrants has finally been solved through a return to the "Sunday Punch" philosophy of Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. The episode dismantles common foreign policy "myths," specifically the idea that "you can't kill an idea." With a blend of dark humor and historical grit, the host posits that ideas live in heads—and when those heads are removed, the idea dies with them. He contrasts the current administration's forceful military action against decades of "mealy-mouthed" diplomacy, specifically calling out the failures of the Carter and Biden eras. Infused with pop-culture references—from Animal House and Pulp Fiction to Shaka Zulu—this episode is a victory lap for American strength, arguing that the only way to ensure peace is to make the price of "Death to America" slogans too high to pay.
As much as the first Scream lovingly poked the bear that was the 80s slasher genre, they played right into the same sensibilities those franchises did, as a sequel came out less than a year after the original was released to surprise success. It took a couple weeks to catch on. But once 1996's Scream gathered the best word of mouth since Pulp Fiction from a couple years before, it sure didn't take long for a sequel to get greenlit. Original writer Kevin Williamson, now the new hot writer on the block, was able to churn out a script, with original director Wes Craven back in the director's chair. But, in a story that will oft get repeated through this entire film series, problems started taking hold of the production. Not the least of which was something called the internet getting a hold of the shooting script and leaking who the original killers were supposed to be. With rapid rewrites and ever changing schedules, were Craven and company able to release a film amongst a crowded end of 1997 (which included a little film called Titanic) that proved to be at least watchable? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they dissect Scream 2 and try to answer that question. As well as a whole host of others, including the question of whether Adam had actually seen this damn movie or not before this viewing.

W/C 23rd February 2026It's been a long time since I have watched Pulp Fiction, but it came up in conversation when I was asked by my eldest if I could suggest something for him to watch. At the beginning of lockdown I began the process of ripping my DVD collection and having everything available as easy playback and sharing, and having got about 80% of the way through it before getting bored, it meant I had a lot to peruse and ultimately recommend.Along with the cool-as-you-like Tarantino classic I offered up Grosse Pointe Blank, I Am Legend, Inception, Phone Booth, The Usual Suspects, Seven, Birdman, Blade Runner and Unbreakable.Oh, and Phoenix Nights.Stay safe. You Never Can Tell - Chuck BerryTherapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. It's remains loose in style, fluid in terms of content and raw - it's a one take, press record and see what happens, affair. If you want to keep in touch with TFM and the other stuff I do then please follow me on Facebook, Insta, Twitter or Patreon. Thanks for getting this far.

Justin Connor, filmmaker and musician behind The Golden Age, shares how his saxophonist father and jazz-loving parents never encouraged music yet inadvertently programmed workaholism into his DNA—a double-edged sword that became both his greatest asset for wearing multiple hats on independent films and his potential downfall requiring hard drive reformatting of his life. Connor reveals how cigarette addiction reflected grief stored in the lungs, how psychedelics and ayahuasca offered exploration without true addiction, and why workaholism proved more dangerous than any substance by fueling perfectionism, obsessive careerism, and control. Drawing from his upbringing witnessing family dynamics, he explains how directing became about trusting himself as an adult after childhood wounds, why he interned for Eric Holder before a double feature of Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction redirected him to Hollywood, and how creating The Golden Age with superhuman strength felt like lancing a boil that needed purging—a film he could never remake even with 10 million dollars.
We untangle the story, remember the quotes, and cringe inwardly at multiple places. In all, we discovered the real Pulp Fiction was the Royal with Cheese we ordered along the way. Mometu President Bryan Louzil joins Nicole and Ryan Pak to discuss the soundtrack to Mike Judge's 1999 cult classic, Office Space. The soundtrack boasts needle drops from artists like Scarface, The Geto Boys, Slum Village, Canibus & Biz Markie, Ice Cube and Kool Keith. Obviously, we have to talk about "Still" by the Geto Boys which soundtracks the infamous "printer scene". The soundtrack supervisor for Office Space is Karyn Rachtman, whose illustrious career includes soundtracking Pulp Fiction, Clueless, Romeo and Juliet, Reality Bites, and Moulin Rouge - and those are just the movies that we've covered on our podcast. On this episode of Tales From Hollywoodland, the crew takes a heartfelt trip back through Hollywood history to celebrate some of the most unforgettable second acts ever put on film — the stories of the true Hollywood Comeback Kids. These are the stars who once ruled the screen, quietly faded from the spotlight, and then stunned the world by coming back stronger than ever. We revisit Frank Sinatra's career-saving triumph in From Here to Eternity, John Travolta's jaw-dropping return in Pulp Fiction, and Robert Downey Jr.'s inspiring rise from troubled talent to global superstar. We also explore the powerful later-career chapters of legends like Marlon Brando, Audrey Hepburn, and Demi Moore, and how the right role at the right time reminded audiences why they fell in love with these stars in the first place. Join us as we reminisce about the movies, moments, and performances that gave these actors a second chance at stardom. It's a nostalgic celebration of resilience, reinvention, and the magic of the silver screen — because in Hollywood, sometimes the greatest stories happen after the comeback. We want to hear from you! Here are some highlights:1. Robert Downey Jr. did not improvise the line "I am Iron Man". It's in the "Iron Man" script.2. There isn't a DEAD munchkin hanging in the background "The Wizard of Oz". It's a bird, and you can see it move like a bird.3. In "Titanic", Jack could physically fit on the door, but it wouldn't have supported him and Rose. The main point of the scene was Jack's sacrifice, not carpentry.4. John Travolta's briefcase in "Pulp Fiction" does not have a secret meaning. Quentin Tarantino has said the glow is just for storytelling.5. George Lucas did not plan "Star Wars" from the beginning. Darth Vader was not intended to be Luke's father when he made the first film.6. Harrison Ford did not accidentally "shoot" the swordsman in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". It was planned. They wanted to simplify the scene by just having Indy end it with a quick bullet. Travolta and Sam Jackson star as henchmen who shoot the breeze (and the occasional person) while running the crime boss's errands, in this eminently quotable black comedy. We forego unraveling the twisted timeline in favor of this core question: should Tarantino ever act in his own movies beyond a brief cameo?? Check out the big brains on . . . The Brains?
