Although three tannaitic sources appear to challenge this principle, the Gemara resolves these contradictions. Sin offerings also precede guilt offerings, except the guilt offering for a metzora (leper), because it comes to purify the leper. This offering, along with the guilt offering of a nazir, differs from other guilt offerings in two distinct ways. The order of precedence for sacrifices also applies to the consumption of their meat. Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Meir disagree about whether spices of teruma may be added when cooking sacrificial meat. Rabbi Shimon permits it, while Rabbi Meir prohibits it due to the risk of disqualifying the teruma, which would then require burning.

If you've ever listened to the fans at a college or professional football game, you know some of them are the ultimate experts at what their team is doing wrong and what they should be doing. It's just amazing some of those fans haven't been hired as, like, head coach of the team, right? After speaking for professional football chapels and getting to know some of the players, I was less than patient with their critics all around me up in the stands. I mean, I knew some of those guys on the field. I knew they had everything on the line when they played and that they were the only heroes in the game. You know, there are no heroes in the stands. Sometimes I just wanted to stand up and say to one of those guys: by the way, I never did because they were all bigger than I am. But I wanted to say, "Hey! Why don't you get out of the stands and get in the game!" I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Get In the Game." I've got to wonder if Jesus isn't trying to say something like that to many of His "fans," which by the way, He has plenty of. There are millions of believers who are willing to go to Jesus' meetings, give to Jesus' causes, and cheer for the ones that are on the field. Oh yeah, and sometimes criticize from the stands how the players are playing. But Jesus doesn't need any more fans. He needs players - players who will join Him in winning some victories; some lives for the cause that He gave His life for! In Numbers 32, where we find our word for today from the Word of God, there is a sobering picture of the spiritual dynamics in Christ's church today. The Jews are preparing to go in and challenge the Canaanites for the Promised Land. The Jewish tribes of Reuben and Gad had been told that the land God was giving them was on the East side of the Jordan - the safe side. All the other tribes would have to go in and fight for their land on the other side of the river. The "East-siders" had this great idea, "Moses, how about we just stay here with our families and set up our little homes and farms?" Moses' reply in Numbers 32:6 comes echoing down through the centuries as a wakeup call for complacent Christians today. He said, "Shall your countrymen go to war while you sit here?" Man, I can almost hear Jesus saying that to us today. "Should persecuted Christians and struggling missionaries take all the risks and fight all the battles to reach the lost while you sit here?" Or, in other words, "Get out of the stands and get in the game!" Later, Moses said that if they failed to leave their comfort zone and go with their brothers into the combat zone, they should "be sure your sin will find you out" (Numbers 32:23). Did you know that's where that verse comes from? Sin that will find you out is the sin of complacency and passivity when there are battles to fight for the Lord! Today, the battle isn't for land, it's for lives - people who will spend eternity in either heaven or hell, people all around us and half a world away. Jesus' Great Commission to get out His Gospel cannot be delegated to a few spiritual daredevils we call missionaries. His Great Commission, His final orders before He left for heaven is always first person singular! Jesus intends for the cost and the risk of rescuing a dying world to be equally shared by all those who belong to Him! The Son of God sacrificed everything for it, and many have over the years, including this past year, sacrificed their lives for it. And many others have given their whole lives to this greatest cause in the universe. So who are we to just sit passively in the stands, just cheering or even jeering? So many of our brothers and sisters have gone to war. How can we sit here and ask them to make all the sacrifices? There is a war to win for Jesus Christ! It's time to get out of your comfort zone and go where your Savior is - in the combat zone!

Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Read more about Project23 and partner with us as we teach every verse of the Bible on video. Our text today is Judges 16:4-9: "After this he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, 'Seduce him, and see where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to humble him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.' So Delilah said to Samson, 'Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you might be bound, that one could subdue you.' Samson said to her, 'If they bind me with seven fresh bowstrings that have not been dried, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.' Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh bowstrings that had not been dried, and she bound him with them. Now she had men lying in ambush in an inner chamber. And she said to him, 'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' But he snapped the bowstrings, as a thread of flax snaps when it touches the fire. So the secret of his strength was not known." — Judges 16:4-9 Samson fell in love with Delilah. On the outside, it probably looked harmless—even romantic. But underneath, the Philistine rulers were using her to unravel him. Notice their strategy: not an ambush, not an outright attack, but seduction. Quiet. Subtle. Patient. That's how sin usually works. Rarely does the enemy come at you with flashing lights and a sword in hand. More often, he whispers through slow compromise, through small concessions that seem harmless—until you realize you've been tied up. And here's the irony: Samson kept playing along. He knew she was setting him up, but he continued to entertain the idea. He tolerated the danger, thinking he could handle it. That's exactly how sin works in us. What we entertain today eventually enslaves us tomorrow. This is still happening now. Just look around. Our culture seduces us with subtle compromises—porn normalized as entertainment, propaganda hidden in schools, news outlets, and governments selling the lie that we can trade truth for comfort and cultural ideologies. Like Israel tolerating Gaza for generations, many believers today tolerate little footholds of sin, thinking they won't matter. But they do. Small compromises left unchecked lead to devastating collapse. Sin doesn't usually take you out all at once. It wears you down until you give away what you never meant to lose. ASK THIS: Where are you tolerating small compromises in your life right now? Why do you think subtle temptations feel safer than obvious ones? How can you recognize when sin is "wearing you down" before it's too late? What cultural lies are you tempted to tolerate instead of resisting? DO THIS: Identify: One "small" compromise you've been tolerating. Confess: Ask God to help you shut the door before it grows. Pay attention: Is culture shaping your convictions—or is God's Word? PRAY THIS: Lord, open my eyes to the subtle compromises that wear me down. Give me the courage to resist what seems small, and the wisdom to guard what You've set apart in me. Amen. Hace tan solo unos dias se anunciaba que Ruanda y el Congo habian alcanzado un acuerdo de paz, pero detras de dicha paz estan los intereses ocultos de Estados Unidos, que tienen por objeto hacerse con los minerales y tierras raras que se encuentran en las minas de la region de Kiwu, una de las zonas mineras mas importantes del mundo, que cuenta con cobalto, coltan y tierras raras. Gracias al acuerdo, Estados Unidos puede hacerse con el acceso a los productos mineros, muy necesarios para las fabricacion de elementos tecnologicos como telefonos u ordenadores. Sin esos minerales, dichos objetos no pueden fabricarse, pero esos minerales se encuentran, fundamentalmente, en esta region del Congo y China. La ultima fase de este conflicto -que arranco hace varias decadas- arranco cuando a comienzos de este ano, cuando la guerrilla ruandesa M23 empezo a atacar el Congo. Por diferentes asuntos, se sabe que detras de esta guerrilla podrian estar determinados financiadores extranjeros. Estaba Estados Unidos detras de esta guerrilla? Have you ever thought that? You might have thought that about your marriage or your relationship with your kids. You probably have thought that about your job or a working relationship with a coworker. At some point in your life, you have probably said that about something going on in government. Something has got to change. I would suspect, however, that when we’ve had this thought, often, we think this change should happen in someone else. Someone else needs to be fixed. Someone else needs to turn things around. After all, wouldn't the world just be better if everyone thought like I do and did things my way? But before we try to change everyone else, it might be helpful if we first look in the mirror and see if there are things about ourselves that need to be changed. That's really the message that God teaches us through the voice of John the Baptizer. If you had to summarize, John’s whole message, it would be this: repent. Repentance has two parts: 1) to acknowledge shortcomings, failures, and guilt, and then 2) to turn to Jesus and find forgiveness. You and I can’t change the hearts of other people. But God can and does change our hearts! Through the voice of John, God is calling for you and for me to look at our own lives and be honest about where we fall short, where we have done wrong, not just against others but against God. But in that call to repentance, God beckons us to lift our eyes to see the Savior who has forgiven us of our faults! That’s what Jesus has done for you! You don’t have to live in shame or fear for your faults. No, Jesus has paid for them with his sacrifice! Recognize your guilt but turn to Jesus and find that peace of forgiveness! Prayer: Dear God, I am broken and am truly sorry for my sin. Thank you for sending me my Savior who loves me and forgives me. Continue to help me daily repent and see the peace which Jesus brings. Pues ya estamos en el mes de diciembre. ¡Qué rápido pasa el tiempo! Pero bueno, esta época del año es muy buena para mi familia, porque en un par de semanas mi mujer y yo viajaremos a España para estar en casa con nuestro hijos durante 20 días más o menos, y eso es algo que solo pasa en verano y en Navidad. Además, podremos escapar del frío de Luxemburgo, que también se agradece. Y relacionado con todo esto, durante las fechas navideñas aumenta la solidaridad de las personas. Y de eso precisamente quería hablarte hoy, porque hay una realidad que merece nuestra atención. Y es que la pobreza y la exclusión social siguen siendo problemas graves en España. Según los últimos informes, una de cada cinco personas vive en riesgo de exclusión, y casi el 30% de los menores se encuentra en situación de pobreza. Son cifras que nos recuerdan que, aunque la economía avanza, no todos avanzan al mismo ritmo. En este contexto, las entidades solidarias, las ONGs y los voluntarios desempeñan un papel esencial. No hablamos solo de repartir alimentos: hablamos de ofrecer oportunidades, acompañamiento y esperanza. El llamado “Tercer Sector”, el de la solidaridad, moviliza en España a miles de organizaciones y cientos de miles de personas que dedican tiempo y esfuerzo para que otros puedan cubrir necesidades básicas como la alimentación, la vivienda o la educación. Sin estas redes de apoyo, la brecha social sería mucho más profunda. Porque la solidaridad no es solo algo abstracto, es una acción concreta que cambia vidas. Cada bolsa de comida, cada hora de voluntariado, cada donación económica contribuye a que familias enteras puedan vivir con dignidad. Y lo más interesante es que este compromiso no solo beneficia a quienes reciben la ayuda: también transforma a quienes la ofrecen. Y es que ayudar genera una enorme satisfacción personal. En este episodio vamos a reflexionar sobre la importancia de estas iniciativas y aprender vocabulario útil para hablar de solidaridad, voluntariado y ayuda social en español. Porque aprender un idioma también significa comprender la realidad y los valores que lo rodean. Prepárate para descubrir palabras, expresiones y estructuras que te permitirán participar en conversaciones sobre uno de los temas más humanos y universales: ayudar a los demás. Y para ello vamos a utilizar una noticia de Radio Nacional de España que he escuchado estos días. Como vas a poder comprobar, la información está centrada en Cataluña, pero es algo que ocurre en toda España. En este caso, lo bueno de la noticia es que vamos a escuchar a varias personas de la calle, no sólo a los periodistas. Venga, presta mucha atención. “Cientos de voluntarios recogen las bolsas de comida en los puntos de donación en más de 11.000 supermercados de todo el país. En Barcelona, en uno de esos establecimientos, está Marga Esparza. Marga, cuéntanos. La décimo séptima edición de la gran recogida de alimentos en Cataluña tiene como objetivo superar los más de 6 millones que se recogieron el año pasado entre el valor económico de los alimentos y las donaciones económicas con las que el banco puede comprar productos frescos. En Cataluña colaboran casi 14.000 voluntarios como Francesc Dasis. Es una doble sensación. Una, por un lado el altruismo, pero del otro lado hay un punto de egoísmo. Ese punto de egoísmo a mí, el que me lo niegue, miente, porque cuando estás haciendo esto te sientes muy bien. Pero al final, lo importante es que la gente que lo necesite tenga algo más, tenga que poder comer un día más. Se pide la solidaridad de los ciudadanos, aunque muchos ya lo tienen muy claro. Porque hace mucha falta, porque hay mucha gente que lo está pasando muy mal. Se te parte el corazón de ver a gente que lo necesita mucho. Muchos niños, que da mucha pena también, y hay que ayudarles. Yo cojo mucho para niños. Echo leche de niños y pañales y cosas de estas que yo creo que es lo que menos quizás se piensa. Los alimentos que se recojan se repartirán entre los 230.000 usuarios del Banco de Alimentos de Cataluña.” En la parte final del episodio te contaré más cosas sobre el Banco de Alimentos, porque actúa en toda España. Pero antes vamos con las palabras que pueden resultar más complicadas. Establecimiento: Lugar donde se realiza una actividad comercial, industrial o de servicios. Es como una tienda. Ejemplos: El establecimiento abre a las nueve de la mañana. En ese establecimiento venden productos ecológicos. Recogida: Acción de reunir o recolectar objetos, alimentos u otros elementos en un lugar determinado. Ejemplos: La recogida de ropa para los refugiados fue un éxito. Organizamos una recogida de juguetes para los niños del barrio. Productos frescos: Alimentos que no han sido procesados ni conservados, como frutas, verduras, carne o pescado. Ejemplos: Prefiero comprar productos frescos en el mercado local. Los productos frescos son esenciales para una dieta saludable. Altruismo: Actitud de ayudar a los demás sin esperar nada a cambio. Ejemplos: El altruismo es la base del trabajo voluntario. Su gesto de altruismo ayudó a muchas familias necesitadas. Negar: Decir que algo no es cierto o rechazar una afirmación. Ejemplos: Él negó haber participado en la reunión. No puedes negar que la solidaridad es importante. Se te parte el corazón: Expresión que indica sentir una gran tristeza o dolor emocional al ver una situación difícil. Ejemplos: Se me parte el corazón al ver a niños sin hogar. Cuando escuché su historia, se me partió el corazón. Dar mucha pena: Causar tristeza, compasión o lástima. Ejemplos: Me da mucha pena ver a personas mayores solas en Navidad. Da pena que haya tanta gente pasando hambre. Pañales: Prenda absorbente que usan los bebés para no mojar la ropa. Ejemplos: Compré pañales para mi sobrino recién nacido. Los pañales son uno de los productos más donados en campañas solidarias. Hace mucho tiempo que no compramos pañales en casa, como te puedes imaginar, pero recuerdo que cuando mis hijos eran pequeños, los pañales costaban mucho dinero. Imagino que ahora serán caros todavía. Y es un producto fundamental para las familias con hijos muy pequeños. Ahora, como de costumbre, te voy a contar la noticia cambiando algunas palabras para que puedas ampliar tu vocabulario. Centenares de voluntarios se encargan de recoger paquetes de comida en los puntos habilitados para donaciones, situados en más de once mil establecimientos repartidos por todo el territorio nacional. En Cataluña se celebra la decimoséptima edición de esta gran iniciativa, cuyo propósito es superar la cifra alcanzada el año anterior, que rondó los seis millones de euros, sumando tanto el valor de los productos entregados como las aportaciones económicas que permiten al Banco de Alimentos adquirir artículos perecederos y otros bienes esenciales. En esta comunidad autónoma participan casi catorce mil personas voluntarias, como Francesc Dasis, que describe su experiencia como una mezcla de generosidad y satisfacción personal: ayudar a otros produce bienestar, aunque lo fundamental es que quienes atraviesan dificultades puedan tener algo más en la mesa. La campaña apela a la colaboración ciudadana, y muchos participantes lo tienen claro: “Es necesario porque hay mucha gente que sufre carencias. Es muy triste ver familias con necesidades”. Algunos voluntarios se centran en los más pequeños: “Muchos niños necesitan ayuda. Yo suelo donar leche infantil, pañales y productos que a veces se olvidan”. Su objetivo principal es recoger productos alimenticios y distribuirlos de manera gratuita a entidades benéficas que atienden a personas en situación de vulnerabilidad. El funcionamiento se basa en tres pilares o fases: Recogida de alimentos Los bancos de alimentos reciben productos de diferentes fuentes: supermercados, empresas de distribución, fabricantes y campañas solidarias como la Gran Recogida. Estos alimentos pueden ser excedentes, productos próximos a la fecha de consumo o donaciones directas de ciudadanos. Clasificación y almacenamiento Una vez llegan al banco, los alimentos se revisan, se clasifican y se almacenan en condiciones adecuadas para garantizar su seguridad. Aquí se distingue entre productos no perecederos (como arroz, pasta, conservas) y alimentos frescos o perecederos (frutas, verduras, carne), que requieren una distribución rápida. Distribución a entidades sociales El Banco de Alimentos no entrega comida directamente a las familias. En su lugar, colabora con asociaciones, comedores sociales, parroquias y ONGs que conocen las necesidades de cada persona. Estas entidades se encargan de repartir los productos a los beneficiarios. Además, el Banco de Alimentos depende en gran medida del voluntariado. Miles de personas dedican tiempo a organizar campañas, clasificar alimentos y colaborar en la logística. Sin ellos, sería imposible llegar a los más de 230.000 usuarios que reciben ayuda en Cataluña, por ejemplo. Su labor no solo combate el hambre, también reduce el desperdicio alimentario, ya que aprovecha productos que, de otro modo, se perderían. Es un ejemplo claro de cómo la solidaridad y la organización pueden transformar la vida de miles de personas. Dead to Sin

As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear.” Matthew 13:3-9 Planting Seed Songwriters have used it. Thinkers have used it. Investors have used it. Even Jesus Christ used it. Used what? They used the picture of planting seed to make a point. Jesus told a story about planting seed to teach us when we hear and learn the Word of God, seed is planted in our hearts. Seeds need time to grow. In springtime, when gardens are first planted, there's not much to see. Yet, as every gardener knows, when it comes to seeds, it takes time. As sunlight warms the moist earth where seeds are embedded, seeds take time to sprout and grow. Sometimes people rarely attend a church and give little attention to the Word. God’s seed has little opportunity to take root. Sometimes people go to worship regularly so that the seed of God’s Word starts to grow, but then they let the cares of life crowd out time and attention for the Word, and so the plant of faith in their hearts gets the life choked out of it. Sometimes a wonderful thing happens. A person gladly hears and learns the Word of God and puts it into practice. And the seed of God’s Word grows. And keeps growing. The plant of faith which the seed of the Word produces is made strong by God’s complete forgiveness won by Jesus. It flourishes under God’s unconditional love, given in Jesus, and is made resilient by heaven’s guarantee paid for by Jesus. Are you that person? Coincidiendo con los 80 años del suicidio de Adolf Hitler el 30 de abril de 1945, Channel 4 ha emitido el documental “El ADN de Hitler: el modelo de un Dictador”. La muestra genética procede de un trozo de tela manchado de sangre del sofá del Führerbunker, cortado pocos días después de la muerte por el oficial estadounidense Roswell Rosengren, llevado a Estados Unidos y años más tarde adquirido por un museo de Pensilvania. Un equipo de historiadores y genetistas autentificó la muestra comparando el cromosoma Y con el de parientes lejanos de la línea paterna de Hitler en Austria, obtenido en un estudio anterior. La coincidencia fue perfecta y el cromosoma Y muy raro, lo que prácticamente descartó errores o contaminación. Los resultados más relevantes fueron tres. Primero, se descartó por completo cualquier ascendencia judía, desmontando décadas de rumores sobre un supuesto abuelo judío. Segundo, se halló una prueba relacionada con el síndrome de Kallmann, que provoca hipogonadismo, reducción de testosterona, posible infertilidad y anomalías genitales. Este descubrimiento encaja con el diagnóstico médico de 1923 (criptorquidia derecha) y con los testimonios de sus amigos y colaboradores más cercanos, que siempre destacaron su absoluta abstinencia sexual, su vergüenza corporal y la inexistencia de relaciones íntimas, incluso con Eva Braun. Probablemente esta condición reforzó su renuncia total a la vida privada y su entrega obsesiva a la política. Tercero, las puntuaciones poligénicas situaron a Hitler en el grupo de alto riesgo para esquizofrenia, trastorno bipolar y autismo, un resultado estadísticamente excepcional. En este mensaje tratamos el siguiente caso de una mujer que «descargó su conciencia» de manera anónima en nuestro sitio www.conciencia.net, autorizándonos a que la citáramos: «Tuve una hija con un hombre que pertenece a otra iglesia que me atrevo a decir es una secta. Con el tiempo vine a comprender la magnitud de las consecuencias.... »Aún no vivimos juntos. Él insiste en que conformemos un hogar y que busquemos un equilibrio en las religiones.... Muchas veces pienso en irme a vivir con él y formar ese hogar, pero tengo miedo de que Dios no esté de acuerdo con eso.» Este es el consejo que le dio mi esposa: «Estimada amiga: »Lo cierto es que la situación en que usted se encuentra es complicada. En muchos casos, les aconsejaríamos a los padres que se casaran a fin de proporcionarles estabilidad a los hijos. Sin embargo, en otros casos el padre o la madre pudiera representar cierto peligro para su pareja y para los hijos. Tal vez se deba a conducta delictiva, al abuso de drogas o de alcohol, a hábitos económicos irresponsables, a enfermedad mental, a falta de dominio propio, o a varios otros factores. Sin embargo, a veces las comparaciones pueden servirnos para colocar las cosas en su correcta perspectiva. Por ejemplo, un millón de dólares puede ser una suma cuantiosa para ti y para mí; pero para Elon Musk, un millón de dólares no es nada comparado con su fortuna. Una caída no es nada para mi hijo, que apenas está dando sus primeros pasos; para mí, sería vergonzosa y muy dolorosa, mientras que para mi madre, ya en la tercera edad, supondría un riesgo para su vida.En el capítulo 8 de Romanos, Pablo hace una declaración interesante: «Estoy seguro de que los sufrimientos por los que ahora pasamos no son nada...». Un momento, ¿que mi sufrimiento no es «nada»? ¿Cómo puede Pablo ser tan insensible? Si este año experimentaste una ruptura sentimental, un fracaso escolar, el divorcio de tus padres, caíste derrotado ante el pecado o perdiste un ser querido, sabrás lo mucho que puede doler el corazón. Pero en este versículo Pablo no está siendo insensible, de hecho, él tuvo una vida llena de privaciones y sufrimiento (ver 2 Corintios 11: 23-33). La razón por la que Pablo dice que el sufrimiento presente no es «nada», es que él tiene en mente una comparación. Sigamos leyendo.El versículo de hoy concluye diciendo: «Si los comparamos con la gloriosa vida que Dios nos dará junto a él». Esta segunda declaración, que comienza con un «sí» condicional, aclara el panorama. La valoración del sufrimiento presente depende de con qué se lo compara, de lo que se coloca del otro lado de la balanza. Mi sufrimiento presente solo será «nada» si y solo si lo miro desde la perspectiva del futuro que Dios me tiene preparado.La clave para entender el presente, paradójicamente, se encuentra en el futuro. Solo cuando logremos fijar la mirada en las promesas divinas, los sinsabores del presente ocuparán su debido lugar. Jesús soportó la cruz «porque sabía que después del sufrimiento tendría gozo y alegría» (Hebreos 12: 2). Si queremos tener la misma perspectiva de Pablo y de Jesús, solo tenemos que poner «la mira en las verdades del cielo, donde Cristo está sentado [...] a la derecha de Dios» (Colosenses 3:1, NTV).

Lucharon junto a sus hermanos durante “todo este tiempo”, lo que en realidad significaba unos seis o siete años (comparar con Jos. 11:18; 14:10; Deut. 2:14). Sus esposas e hijos permanecieron al este del Jordán y, aún así, ellos decidieron luchar lealmente junto a sus hermanos, afrontando la amenaza de las heridas y la muerte en la guerra. Estos versículos subrayan indirectamente la importancia de la unidad de la nación y de la tierra. También preparan el camino para la historia posterior, que en última instancia se refiere a la unidad. ¿Permanecerían las tribus israelitas unidas a pesar de la frontera natural que el Jordán representaba entre ellas? ¿Permitirían que la geografía definiera su identidad nacional o dejarían que su culto común al único Dios los preservara como su nación elegida, unida y fuerte bajo su conducción teocrática? Josué expuso la única manera en que tal fidelidad había sido posible: no sirvieron a sus compatriotas israelitas, sino al propio Dios, que les encargó su misión. Encontramos este mismo principio en el Nuevo Testamento. El apóstol Pablo exhortó a los cristianos a prestar su servicio como si trabajaran para Dios y no solo para los seres humanos (ver Efe. 6:7; Col. 3:23; 1 Tes. 2:4). ¿Qué vocación más elevada puede existir que la de trabajar para el Creador del universo? A menudo enfrentamos desafíos y dificultades que pueden desanimarnos y tentarnos a abandonar la lucha. Sin embargo, podemos invocar el poder del Señor, quien promete estar con nosotros y nos capacita para hacer lo que nos pide. Si mantenemos nuestra vocación superior ante nosotros, podemos estar motivados para seguir adelante a pesar de los inevitables desafíos y desalientos que forman parte de nuestra existencia caída. Josué 22:5 y 6 dice que Josué apeló a las tribus que regresaban a su territorio para que permanecieran fieles al Señor y las bendijo. ¿Cómo cambiarían nuestras relaciones en la iglesia si oráramos más unos por otros?

Diciembre 05, 2025 - A pesar de ser una palabra muy usada y comun para nuestro tiempo, la paz es definida de diferentes formas. Sin embargo, sabe usted cual es la paz que Dios ofrece? Hoy en Vision Para Vivir, el Pastor Carlos A. Zazueta nos hablara del nacimiento de Cristo, el cual abrio el camino para obtener paz con Dios.

El año 69 d.C. es uno de los más agitados y caóticos de la historia del imperio romano. En poco más de un año, cuatro hombres se hicieron con el trono tras la muerte de Nerón: Galba, Otón, Vitelio y Vespasiano. Este período demostró que, una vez desaparecido el prestigio de la dinastía julio-claudia, el Senado era ya un mero órgano decorativo y la dignidad imperial dependía exclusivamente de contar con el apoyo de las legiones. Nerón se suicidó el 9 de junio del año 68. Sin heredero, el vacío de poder desató una guerra civil. El primer beneficiario fue Servio Sulpicio Galba, gobernador de la Tarraconense. Hombre de linaje patricio y 73 años, fue reconocido por el Senado y la Guardia Pretoriana. Llegó a Roma en octubre de ese año, pero su gobierno fue un desastre desde el primer día: recortó gastos, se negó a pagar el donativo prometido a los pretorianos y adoptó como heredero a Lucio Calpurnio Pisón, un aristócrata sin carisma ni apoyos militares. Tres meses más tarde las legiones de Germania Superior e Inferior se sublevaron y proclamaron emperador a Aulo Vitelio. Cuando la noticia llegó a Roma los pretorianos asesinaron a Galba y a Pisón en pleno Foro. El Senado, aterrorizado, proclamó emperador a Marco Salvio Otón. Otón, antiguo compañero de juergas de Nerón y gobernador de Lusitania, tenía el apoyo del Pretorio y de parte del pueblo romano. Intentó negociar con Vitelio, que ya marchaba hacia Italia con sus legiones. La negociación fracasó. El 14 de abril del año 69 se libró la primera batalla de Bedriacum (cerca de Cremona). Las tropas de Otón fueron aplastadas. Al recibir la noticia, Otón se suicidó, pero no sin antes pronunciar una frase que ha pasado a la historia: “Es más justo que muera uno por todos, que todos por uno”. Había reinado 91 días. Vitelio entró en Roma en julio entre desfiles, banquetes y celebraciones. Su gobierno fue un espectáculo de despilfarro y crueldad: ejecuciones masivas de oficiales fieles a Otón, disolución de las cohortes pretorianas para sustituirlas por sus tropas germanas y un despilfarro que dejó exhausto el tesoro imperial. Entretanto, en Oriente, las legiones de Judea, Siria y Egipto proclamaron emperador a Tito Flavio Vespasiano, el general que se encargaba en esos momentos de la revuelta judía. Vespasiano controlaba los envíos de grano de Egipto y tenía el apoyo de su hijo Tito y del prefecto de Egipto, Tiberio Julio Alejandro. Las legiones del Danubio que estaban al mando de Marco Antonio Primo invadieron Italia en octubre. A finales de ese mes se libró la segunda batalla de Bedriacum y las tropas de Vitelio fueron aniquiladas. En diciembre, Antonio Primo entró en Roma. Vitelio intentó abdicar y esconderse, pero fue descubierto, arrastrado desnudo por las calles y arrojado al Tíber tras ser torturado. El día 21 de diciembre del año 69, el Senado proclamó a Vespasiano, que aún estaba en Alejandría. Con él comenzó la dinastía Flavia. Para hablar de este año tan importante en la historia de la Antigua Roma nos acompaña hoy Federico Romero, que ya pasó por aquí hace unos meses para hablarnos de aquellos bárbaros que se significaron en su defensa del imperio. Hoy nos vamos cuatro siglos atrás al momento en el que Roma estaba en la cúspide de su poder. «Quédate aquí —dijo la mujer aparentando afecto—. Aquí vas a estar bien. Verás correr a los perritos y te vas a entretener.» Luego puso una bolsa con pañales a su lado y una nota escrita que decía: «Me llamo John King; padezco la enfermedad de Alzheimer», y desapareció, abandonando al anciano en una pista de carreras de perros. La que abandonó al anciano era Sue Gifford, mujer de cuarenta y un años de edad. El anciano abandonado era su propio padre, de ochenta y dos años, víctima de Alzheimer. Para librarse de la carga que significa esa enfermedad, la hija lo llevó a una pista de carreras de perros y lo abandonó en su silla de ruedas. El juez la condenó a seis años de prisión. Este caso, que apareció en uno de los periódicos de Estados Unidos, conmovió a toda la comunidad. Se sabe que la enfermedad de Alzheimer es dolorosa. Deja a la persona totalmente inhabilitada. Ya no puede valerse por sí misma. Es un caso patético del ser humano que ha perdido lo mejor que tiene: la chispa de la inteligencia. Esa es la condición de la víctima de Alzheimer. Es una muerte en vida. No obstante, hay una ley universal que descansa sobre el ser humano: «Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, para que disfrutes de una larga vida en la tierra que te da el Señor tu Dios» (Éxodo 20:12). Es el quinto mandamiento del decálogo de Moisés. Abandonar a los padres ancianos por cualquier causa que sea, y especialmente si es sólo por quitarnos de encima el estorbo que ellos nos resultan, es el colmo de la ingratitud y el desprecio. En muchos lugares hay establecimientos excelentes que se especializan en prestar la atención debida a los ancianos. Y muchos hijos, con sabiduría y cariño, internan allí a sus progenitores inhabilitados. Pero no los abandonan. Los visitan. Y los hijos se toman el tiempo de estar con ellos, mostrando preocupación y ternura. Sin embargo, cuando los hijos no tienen la facilidad de internar a sus padres en lugares como esos, tienen que ponerse en juego otros recursos. En tales casos hace falta un amor muy especial y un cariño único. El mandamiento de honrar a nuestros padres viene de Dios. También vienen de Dios, para quien los desee, la inspiración, la paciencia y la determinación de proceder conforme a los eternos y justos mandamientos divinos. He immediately ran to find his brother, Simon Peter, with the excited announcement, “We’ve found the Messiah!” and urged him, “Come and see.” Do you feel that sharing Jesus is complicated? Do you feel unready? Unprepared? Andrew’s invitation was simple and full of heart. There was no pressure, no argument. He radiated the pure joy of encountering someone who transforms lives. This is still how faith is shared today. It does not start with a heated debate or a clever argument—it begins through genuine relationships. When people notice the peace, the hope, and quiet joy that shape your life, they become curious about what makes the difference. Their curiosity opens a door for a simple, heartfelt invitation. You don’t need all the answers or perfect words. You just need to know Jesus. Sharing Jesus does not have to be complicated. It can start with the most natural impulse in the world—an invitation: “Come and see.” This is an open invitation—not just at Advent but year-round. Come and see the One who took your place. Come and see the One who forgives your guilt. Come and see the One who gives your life meaning, direction, and hope. And then—go and tell. When you’ve met the Savior, you’ve got something truly worth sharing. Prayer: Jesus, thank you for inviting me to come and see your grace. Fill me with joy and courage to share you with others. Amen. Esto es especialmente cierto en una comunidad como la iglesia, donde personas de diferentes orígenes, estratos sociales y culturas trabajan juntas por un propósito común. Esta semana estudiaremos Josué 22 y un desafío que surgió de un gran malentendido entre el pueblo. Al principio del libro, Josué ordenó a las tribus del este que cruzaran el Jordán y participaran en la conquista junto con las tribus del oeste del Jordán (Jos. 1:12-18). Ahora que la tarea estaba cumplida, eran libres de regresar a su territorio. Sin embargo, en su camino de retorno, al llegar a los límites del Jordán, construyeron un altar que despertó preocupación entre las tribus del este. ¿Por qué es peligroso arribar a conclusiones apresuradas acerca del comportamiento de los demás? ¿Cómo podemos fomentar la unidad en la iglesia? ¿Por qué es importante tener presente el alcance más amplio de nuestra vocación y no dejarnos distraer por ella? En la sección de ciencia, hablaremos de un estudio que asegura que los niños pueden imitar los cuadros del pintor expresionista Jackson Pollock mucho mejor que los adultos. Y, para concluir la primera parte del programa de hoy, hablaremos de otro "crímen del siglo": el robo de caracoles por valor de 90.000 euros a un granjero francés.
