Episode 437: Tyrone William ‘Ty' Conn became the first man in over forty years to climb over the wall at Kingston Penitentiary, Canada's oldest and most secure federal prison. Born to a teenage mother in 1967 and adopted at age three by a prominent Belleville psychiatrist, his childhood unravelled into a cycle of theft, institutionalization, and escape that would follow him for the rest of his life. By the time he was thirty-two, a string of armed bank robberies and repeated prison breaks had compounded into a forty-seven-year sentence, a number that raised eyebrows given that not one of his crimes had ever physically harmed another person. On May 6, 1999, using a homemade ladder and a length of sewn canvas, he scaled Kingston's wall and disappeared into the Ontario countryside, setting off a thirteen-day manhunt that captivated the country. What happened when police finally caught up with him in a Toronto basement apartment two weeks later remains, to this day, a matter of dispute, one his own mother was never able to get answered. It stars Ryan Gosling, who also produced the film, as Ryland Grace, and Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, and Lionel Boyce play supporting roles. The story follows Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher who awakens aboard an interstellar spacecraft with no memory of how he got there. Pre-production began in 2020, before Weir's novel was published. Filming took place throughout 2024 in the United Kingdom, both on location and on sets. All scenes aboard the spacecraft Hail Mary were filmed on a practical set that was constructed for the film. Project Hail Mary premiered in London on March 9, 2026, and was released in the United States by Amazon MGM Studios on March 20, with Sony Pictures Releasing International releasing in other territories. In a series of flashbacks, Grace recalls that scientists discovered a "Petrova line" of infrared light stretching from the Sun to Venus; an alien microbe in the line, dubbed "astrophage", was proliferating on the Sun's surface, dimming the Sun at a rate that would cause catastrophic global cooling within thirty years. The head of the Petrova Taskforce, Eva Stratt, recruited Grace to study it due to his background in speculative astrobiology. Grace experimented on a sample and discovered that astrophage was composed of unicellular organisms that absorb electromagnetic radiation from the Sun and expel it for propulsion. Mark Carney dans son discours de Davos du 20 janvier 2026, avait acté le basculement dans un âge des empires fondé sur la coercition. Nos démocraties sont fondées sur l'État de droit », a-t-il souligné, avant de qualifier cette alliance future de « phare pour les démocraties ».COMBIEN D'EXTRÊMES DROITES ?Pour son premier grand discours depuis que la justice lui a rouvert la voie vers l'Élysée, Marine Le Pen a déroulé un programme refermant, point par point, la parenthèse libérale que Jordan Bardella et certains de ses conseillers avaient tenté d'ouvrir, gravant dans le marbre son slogan « ni droite ni gauche ». Pour 2027 elle veut mener « plus que jamais » la « bataille sociale ». Une formule qui sonne comme un désaveu pour ceux qui, en interne, espéraient muscler le versant pro-entreprise du parti. Affichant sa volonté de mettre l'accent sur la « priorité nationale » – « un droit naturel et juste », Marine Le Pen a promis d'appliquer ce principe controversé au logement social, l'un des « grands chantiers » de son potentiel quinquennat. En martelant cette thématique, elle s'est épargnée toute explication sur les polémiques qui ont émaillé la rentrée du RN. C'est à peine si elle a, sur le réseau X, promis de soumettre l'interdiction du voile à un réferendum. Elle n'est pas plus revenue sur la retraite à 62 voire à 60 ans, que sur les saillies racistes et sexistes d'un policier municipal membre du service d'ordre du parti, ou sur la fin de l'aide à l'Ukraine annoncée par le maire de Perpignan, Louis Aliot. Des propos qui viennent rappeler les positions prorusses longtemps tenues par le RN, que n'endosse pas totalement Jordan Bardella. La stratégie du « tandem complémentaire » tenue l'année passée, avec une ligne plus libérale incarnée par Jordan Bardella, et une ligne plus sociale et populiste jouée par Marine Le Pen, prend désormais des allures de duel au sommet.Le 13 septembre, un autre duo à l'extrême droite mettait en scène ses ambitions, et ses possibles rivalités : Sarah Knafo puis Éric Zemmour ont conclu, chacun à leur tour, les universités d'été de Reconquête. Si le chef de la formation, n'a pas encore confirmé sa probable candidature, il a entamé sa rentrée en ciblant son créneau favori, l'islam, se déclarant contre le port du voile dans l'espace public, pour la « remigration » et critiquant sa meilleure ennemie, Marine Le Pen. Tandis qu'Éric Zemmour mise sur l'identitaire, sa compagne, Sarah Knafo combat sur le champ libéral.
