In this inaugural episode, he defines "winning" beyond visible results like the scoreboard, revenue, recognition, or busyness, arguing those metrics can mask weak culture and broken infrastructure. Drawing on 30 years of coaching experience and ownership of over 30 businesses, he explains how lessons from baseball - recruiting, team building, culture, and player development - translate directly to business and leadership. He shares contrasts from his college coaching career, including outperforming resources to finish fifth at the World Series, then later seeing how talented recruits who weren't a cultural fit exposed a weak foundation despite winning records. Rigsby emphasizes that marketing and sales fuel growth, but people and culture determine sustainability, fulfillment, and a life to be proud of, and he will share practical lessons and interviews with guests. 00:00 Welcome to the Show 00:12 Why the Scoreboard Lies 00:57 Mission Behind Winning Coach 02:09 Lessons from the Dugout 02:49 Early Coaching Struggles 03:21 Building a Championship Culture 04:11 When Culture Breaks 05:07 Turning Sports into Business 05:26 People Over Transactions 06:22 Wins and Hard Lessons 06:40 What Youll Learn Here 07:40 Guests and the Big Goal 08:06 Final Expectations

Text and Be HeardThe gambling industry has two products that print money for the house, and we're naming them plainly: slots and parlays. If you've ever felt that pull of “just one more spin” or the rush of turning $20 into $1,000, this conversation puts the psychology and the math side by side so you can see what's really happening. We start with slot machines, from physical casino floors to video slots to mobile casino apps. The key point is simple and brutal: you're playing against a computer, and it's programmed with a built-in house edge. When a slot is designed to pay back between 85 to 93 cents for every dollar wagered over time, the long-run direction is clear. Wins can happen, but the system is built to keep you cycling bets until you drift back toward zero, especially if you don't stop when you're ahead. Then we move to sports betting parlays, a favorite trap for younger bettors. Parlays flash huge payouts and make it easy to say “it's only $20,” but stacking legs multiplies your chance of losing. We talk about how the “lost by one leg” heartbreak fuels more bets, even though the ticket still cashes as a loss, and why that near-win feeling is such effective bait for sportsbooks. If you want a cleaner relationship with gambling, this is your reset button. Listen, share it with a friend who's always chasing a parlay, and subscribe and leave a review if you want more straight-talk breakdowns like this.Support the showRecovery is Beautiful. Crime and fame have an uncomfortable relationship. While the public wants and needs to know about crimes, the criminals themselves can actually chase the attention that comes committing a crime. Some crimes are so bizarre that its inevitable that they'll become headline news. And sometimes, criminals are already famous by the time they go down a violent path. In all of these circumstances, increased attention can change the way criminal investigations play out. A case that people thought was closed – the Murdaugh murders case in South Carolina – was turned on its head this week. A judge overturned the convictions of Richard Alexander Murdaugh, known as Alex Murdaugh, for allegedly killing his wife and son, and ordered a new trial. While the Murdugh case made plenty of headlines this week, you may have missed an update to another high-profile case, the 2024 Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooting. This week, two men convicted of the shooting went free. Hello to you listening in Lanús, Argentina! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. In my mind's eye I see that child on the Jersey Shore arms spread wide clasping the inflated beach ball to her chest, fingers stretched and gripping, eyes barely peeking over the top. Along comes mom with a triple-decker ice cream cone - 3 scoops - all chocolate. The child wants both: beach ball and ice cream; but can hold only one. Now what? After tears, frustration, stomping around something or someone wins out. Who do you recognize here? Because no matter how old we become some things never change: we want both but have to choose one. The choices we make can become our greatest adventures if we're bold. When we let go of what we're desperately clinging to we might very well end up with the biggest prize of all: the one true life that is meant for us. Story Prompt: Find a memory moment when you were presented with a choice, maybe like the beach ball and ice cream cone. You wanted both; but could have only one. Which did you choose and how come? Write that story and share it out loud! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! You will have wonderful company as we continue to walk our lives together. AND! Okay… this episode goes everywhere. It starts with a fitness hot take that might make people mad: if women over 40 only have time to lift three days a week… should we just focus on legs? That turns into a whole conversation about muscle, metabolism, longevity, and what actually matters versus what the fitness industry keeps telling us we "should" be doing. Then Bret and I get into the Dorit and PK divorce mess, the Sports Illustrated influencer debate, why influencers honestly work harder than celebrities, and the Kim Kardashian story that has the internet fighting. We also became fully obsessed with a MrBeast grocery store challenge that somehow turned into a conversation about psychology, marketing, and why YouTubers understand human behavior better than TV executives. But the part that really hit me was the AI conversation. If you've been feeling weirdly behind lately, overwhelmed by Slack, Asana, Claude, notifications, nonstop messages, and trying to keep up with how fast everything is moving… you are definitely not alone. We got very real about AI burnout, entrepreneur overload, and why all these tools that are supposed to save time somehow make life feel even more chaotic.
