They analyze Trump's claims about seizing billions in Venezuelan oil, the response from interim leader Delcy Rodríguez, and mounting fears of authoritarian crackdowns as armed militias flood Caracas under a sweeping emergency decree. Kander and Gupta also dive into Trump's revived push to acquire Greenland, unpacking Marco Rubio's closed-door comments, NATO alarm, and the administration's refusal to rule out military force. Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan explains why Minnesota's governor is openly escalating toward a constitutional crisis, how a deadly ICE confrontation is being weaponized politically, and why Democrats may be preparing nationwide unrest to distract from a massive fraud reckoning. He then covers major White House moves on housing, defense contractors, Venezuela, China, Russia, and Greenland, showing how Trump's strategy is reshaping global power. Tim Walz Declares a De Facto War on the Federal Government: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced that his state is "in a state of war" with the federal government after an ICE officer shot and killed protester Renee Good during an immigration raid in Minneapolis. Video shows Good used her vehicle as a weapon against the officer, who fired in self-defense after being struck. Walz ordered the National Guard to prepare for deployment and called on activists nationwide to rise up, prompting warnings that his rhetoric may meet the legal definition of insurrection. A Manufactured Crisis and the Somali Fraud Reckoning: Bryan explains why the timing of Walz's escalation matters. Attorney General Pam Bondi just surged federal investigators into Minnesota to probe billion-dollar Somali fraud rings tied to Medicaid, daycare centers, and migrant nonprofits, many of which donated to Democratic campaigns. Federal funds to Minnesota and other blue states have been frozen or cut, and the White House is preparing a nationwide fraud announcement. Bryan warns that the death of an activist is being exploited to distract from what could become one of the largest corruption scandals in U.S. history. White House Targets Defense Contractors and Housing Costs: President Trump issued an executive order blocking major defense contractors from paying dividends or buying back stock until weapons production accelerates. CEO compensation is capped at five million dollars annually. Trump also moved to ban large institutional investors from buying additional single-family homes, arguing corporate buyers are pricing Americans out of the housing market. Senate Republicans are already drafting legislation to codify the policy. Trump Confronts Socialist Housing Policy in New York City: The Justice Department is reviewing whether New York City's new socialist mayor and his housing director violated anti-discrimination laws. The housing director has publicly called homeownership a tool of white supremacy and advocated seizing private property, with the mayor openly endorsing her views. DOJ officials say racial targeting in housing policy is unlawful and will be challenged. Global Shockwaves from Venezuela and the Ghost Fleet: Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed a three-phase U.S. plan for Venezuela, beginning with stability under remnants of the Maduro regime, followed by economic recovery and eventual democratic transition. The United States will act as Venezuela's sole oil dealer while seizing ghost-fleet tankers moving Iranian and Russian oil. Trump authorized U.S. forces to seize ships even after they reflagged as Russian, directly squeezing Moscow's war finances and Beijing's energy supply. Greenland and Europe's Energy Reality Check: Denmark warned it would use lethal force if U.S. troops attempt to seize Greenland, even as Chinese submarines map Arctic waters near U.S. defenses. Bryan contrasts Europe's military posturing with its fragile energy reality, as winter cold, snow-covered solar panels, and weak wind output drive electricity shortages and price spikes across Germany and Northern Europe "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: January 8 2026 Wright Report, Tim Walz ICE shooting Minneapolis, Renee Good protest death, Minnesota National Guard insurrection rhetoric, Somali fraud Medicaid daycare nonprofits, Pam Bondi investigation surge, defense contractor dividend ban Trump, institutional investors single family homes, Zohran Mamdani housing discrimination DOJ, Venezuela stability first strategy Rubio, ghost fleet tanker seizures Russia Iran, Greenland Denmark threat U.S. troops, China Arctic submarine mapping, Europe winter energy crisis

The new year has only just begun, and already we have seen an event with massive significance for the world of energy. The US operation to remove Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro opens a new era for a country that holds – according to some definitions – the world's largest oil reserves. So far there has been little impact on oil markets. But what are the implications going to be for energy in the months and years to come? To discuss how this volatile situation might evolve, host Ed Crooks is joined by regular guest Amy Myers Jaffe, Director of NYU's Energy, Climate Justice and Sustainability Lab, and an expert on oil earlier in her career. History never repeats itself, the saying goes, but sometimes it rhymes. Amy draws a parallel between Venezuela today, and Iraq after the US-led invasion and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003. There are some similarities in the position of the two oil-rich countries, which were both dragged down by mismanagement and sanctions. But Amy argues that Venezuela's oil system is in far worse shape, with looted equipment, chronic power and fuel shortages, and damage that may not be reversible.Melissa Lott, another Energy Gang regular, also joins the show, and raises the question of what regime change in Venezuela might mean for the energy transition. Melissa is a partner at Microsoft, but appearing on the show in her usual role as an independent commentator and energy expert. Then it's on to the other places, people and technologies that are likely to make a big impact on energy this year. Ed is watching the Gulf Coast buildout of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants. It is a boom so big that Wood Mackenzie expects US LNG exports to roughly double from 2023 levels by around 2030, with more growth beyond. The gang assesses the likely consequences of surging LNG supplies: downward pressure on global gas prices, and potential financial strain for exporters. There is also the possibility that a peace deal in Ukraine could make the oversupply even worse, by allowing more Russian gas to flow west into European markets. Next up, it's people to watch in 2026. Melissa names the US energy secretary Chris Wright, and Ed picks new FERC chairman Laura Swett. As the US power grid, and its energy system more generally, face mounting challenges because of the growth in data centers needed for AI, effective policy and regulation will be critical. Amy chooses China's President Xi Jinping: the country's next five-year plan could reshape the global competition for energy dominance. On technologies to watch, battery storage is a hot topic. Melissa and Ed discuss the supply chains needed to meet growing demand, and innovative products such as Form Energy's iron-air batteries, which are being deployed in a first-ever commercial project that will be fully operational this year. Amy's choice is humanoid robots. They're expensive and still imperfect, but are they going to rule the future? They are already being trialled for repetitive factory tasks. Amy says her Roomba can't cope with a spilt bowl of cereal. But will new flexible AI-guided robots be able to do the job properly?Follow the show so you don't miss an episode this year – it's going to be a busy one.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The [DS] have lost the information war, common sense has now taken over. The [DS] will now being moving to physical war. This is the trap Trump has set to use the Insurrection Act. Slowly but surely the [DS] will become more violent and Trump and team will have to call the ball. Buckle up, the storm is approaching. Economy Trump’s Tariffs Are Sinking The Eurozone  German trade surpluses are shrinking, with 2025 exports to the US projected down 7% and overall trade surplus far below 2024 levels. Structural challenges—especially Chinese competition in automotive—compound short-term pressures, threatening Germany’s role as Eurozone anchor. A German recession risks Eurozone-wide contagion, potential ECB stimulus, and euro depreciation, clouding the outlook for 2026. Since tariffs stepped in, the Eurozone has struggled with exports and hasn’t even retaliated to them. A passive approach that shows off all its weaknesses and, above all, is sinking the economy of its major member: Germany. Germany was already stuck with a negative GDP growth before tariffs, but the latter are acting as a final blow for the third economy in the world. A couple of weeks ago I pointed out the main risks that concern Japan (the fourth economy in the world); now it is time to assess the shape of the German economy. How tariffs are hitting Germany Germany's total exports in 2024 amounted to $1.63 trillion, and 11% of these goods were exported to the US, the main trading partner. Just this data says a lot; in fact, Germany used to rely on the US to generate billions and billions of trade surpluses. A sort of Chinese approach, but at a lower scale. Now, almost every European good exported to the US is subject to a 15% tariff, which is making German goods less convenient for US companies. We know that the latter pay most of the tariffs, and this means bearing higher costs of goods sold, therefore lower profits. Companies don't like to reduce their net profit margin, so it is not a surprise they are looking around to find new trading partners. On top of this significant issue, the currency fluctuations are adding further pressure on German exports.. The petition outlines explosive allegations regarding Sheriff McFadden's conduct over House Bill 10, a controversial state law mandating cooperation between local sheriffs and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Rep. Cunningham, a fellow Democrat who provided a critical vote to override the Governor's veto of the bill, alleges McFadden threatened her safety to influence her vote. According to the petition, McFadden told Cunningham that if she continued to support the bill, the “people of Mecklenburg County would ‘come after' her.” The filing claims McFadden added, “I don't want to see you get hurt. You live in my county.” Cunningham described the interaction as “akin to a mafia boss demanding money by saying ‘nice little store you've got there; it would be a shame if anything happened to it.’”   District Attorney Merriweather confirmed he has asked the SBI's Professional Standards Unit to investigate the claims before his office decides whether to proceed with the removal petition. The DA's letter to the SBI specifically requests an investigation into: Extortion and bribery. Economic threats made to influence legislation. Hatch Act violations (regarding improper political activity). State campaign finance violations. Brilliant Restitution Plan – President Trump Announces Interim Venezuela Oil Payment of $2 Billion  This is way beyond winning, this is stunningly brilliant strategy.  Not only has President Trump successfully apprehended Venezuela dictator Nicolas Maduro, but the remaining interim government officials have acquiesced to fund a civil restitution plan to pay for their malfeasance. The government that stole from its people is being forced to pay restitution for their own fraud, abuse and misconduct. [SOURCE] The 30 to 50 million barrels of oil is approximately a $2 billion self-created reconstruction effort. Compare and contrast this approach with the trillions of U.S. taxpayer funds that were used in the failed efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etcetera….  or even Kuwait, albeit the Kuwaiti's offered, but prior U.S. leadership chose influence over restitution. In this example, almost immediately the funds now in the control of President Trump can be deployed to the greater benefit of the Venezuelan people. Another way to look at this is like a type of ‘sovereign wealth fund' created by the corrupt Venezuelan officials, using the resources that belong to the Venezuelan people, to support the interim needs of the same citizens they victimized. Well done President Trump and Secretary Rubio! Source: theconservativetreehouse.com   The second phase will be a phase that we call recovery. And that is ensuring that American, western, and other companies have access to the Venezuelan market in a way that’s fair, also at the same time, begin to create the process of reconciliation nationally, within Venezuela, so that the opposition forces can be amnestied and released from prisons, and brought back to the country, and begin to rebuild civil society. And then the third phase, is of course will be one of transition. Some of this will overlap. I’ve described this to them (Venezuela) in great detail. We’ll have more detail in the days to follow. Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan delivers a sweeping analysis of the national and global fallout from President Trump's decision to capture Nicolás Maduro. From Minneapolis to Caracas, and from Mexico to Greenland, Bryan explains how one operation is reshaping immigration policy, energy markets, global power dynamics, and America's definition of strength. ICE Launches Largest Immigration Operation in U.S. History: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed a massive surge of ICE officers into Minneapolis, with Venezuelans, Somalis, and other migrant groups now prioritized for removal. With Maduro no longer in power, the administration says it is safe for Venezuelans to return home. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the operation, calling it unprecedented, as Temporary Protected Status, asylum cases, and green card applications are frozen or revoked. Trump Strikes a Massive Oil Deal with Venezuela: Negotiations with Venezuela's new Marxist leadership produced a deal transferring thirty to fifty million barrels of oil to U.S. control, valued at up to two point eight billion dollars. The oil will help refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and stabilize global markets. U.S. oil companies are now being pushed to rehabilitate Venezuela's collapsed energy sector, potentially with taxpayer support, despite concerns about security and long term stability. Stability Over Democracy in Caracas: The White House decided it cannot yet work with opposition leaders like María Corina Machado or Edmundo González. Instead, Trump is temporarily backing remnants of the Maduro regime to maintain order and secure oil and mineral flows. Power struggles inside Venezuela have already turned violent, with armed gangs, checkpoints, and internal purges spreading fear among civilians. Global Strategy Tied to Oil and Power: Trump's plan aims to flood global markets with Venezuelan oil to pressure Canada, undercut Russia's finances, and entice India away from Russian energy. Bryan explains how this strategy could weaken Vladimir Putin's war funding and force movement toward a Ukraine peace deal. Shockwaves Across Mexico, Cuba, and Greenland: Mexican leaders fear they could be next as Trump escalates cartel strikes and pressures Mexico to cut oil shipments to Cuba. Cuban leaders face collapse without Venezuelan and Mexican energy. Meanwhile, Trump renewed warnings that military force remains an option to secure Greenland, citing the threat posed by China and Russia. European leaders are furious but largely powerless to stop him. A Message to China and the World: Trump warned Venezuela's remaining leaders to sever ties with China, Russia, Cuba, and Iran or face removal. Reuters reports Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello is now under direct U.S. threat. Bryan argues the broader message is clear. Trump is no longer bluffing, and assumptions that he is all bark and no bite are collapsing worldwide. Analysis and Warning: Bryan cautions that while Trump may manage Venezuela in the short term, the strategy carries serious risks. China, Brazil, or Colombia could destabilize the country through proxies or sabotage. He suggests Trump may seek a grand bargain with Beijing, trading U.S. restraint in Asia for Chinese withdrawal from the Western Hemisphere. The Political Lesson: Senator Chris Murphy admitted this week that Trump must now be taken seriously. Bryan closes by arguing that Trump is reordering global power at age seventy-nine because he believes the country is nearing collapse and this is America's last chance to reset its trajectory.   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: January 7 2026 Wright Report, ICE Minneapolis surge Venezuelans, Kristi Noem Todd Lyons deportations, Trump Venezuela oil deal Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Maduro regime remnants power struggle, global oil strategy Canada Russia India, Mexico cartel pressure Cuba collapse, Greenland military option Trump, China warning Venezuela Cabello, Trump global power reset

In this episode, we sit down with J. Michael Waller, a senior analyst for strategy at the Center for Security Policy and author of “Big Intel,” to understand the geopolitical implications of America's capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.“For the first time in a very long time, the President of the United States has reasserted the Monroe Doctrine to keep foreign empires out of our hemisphere,” he says.By capturing Maduro, President Donald Trump sent a signal to all of America's adversaries, but first and foremost to communist China. “Trump has just pulled out a linchpin in an elaborate piece of machinery for the CCP's sprawling global empire,” he says. How did Venezuela devolve from a once prosperous country into an authoritarian hub for drug cartels and a key node of Chinese and Iranian influence? How does Maduro's capture affect Beijing's strategy and calculations when it comes to Taiwan? How will this impact Cuba and Iran? And what does the future hold for Venezuela and its people?Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

On today's Prison Pulpit, we start and finish with Venezuela, as my Venezuelan teammate writes in with four ways to pray for his country at this time of both joy and uncertainty. But the bulk of today's podcast is a story from my good friend Uncle Bundo about what happened in Thomson Prison on New Year's Day 2025. Let his testimony warm and encourage you to pray for all those believers who are in prison! (Scroll down for more notes...) I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben. Follow me on Twitter/X (@chinaadventures) where I present a new Chinese city or county to pray for every single day. Please send any questions or comments to a new, secure email: chinacompass@privacyport.com. Everything else can be found at PrayGiveGo.us! One last thing: I’m now set up on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/c/chinacompass), which now only allows for donations, but also lets me sort podcast episodes into various collections, making it easier to find all the episodes on a certain topic or person, like Tibet, Pastor Wang Yi, or Richard Wurmbrand. (2:43) Venezuela no longer a prison: We have very close friends and teammates from Venezuela, so I understand the situation there better than most, however it dawned on me today that after the liberation of Venezuela from the dictator Maduro, I probably should have been praying for the people (Christians, especially) much more than I have. Their situation these past 10+ years especially has been very much akin to being in a prison cell. Hence, nearly ⅓ (8+ million) “escaped” during that time for survival’s sake. I may have more to say on a future podcast, but for now I want to point out that although we probably haven’t been praying for Venezuela as we ought to have done, I guarantee you that Venezuelan Christians (esp. those who had found freedom abroad) were quote “Remembering those in prison (back in Venezuela) as if they themselves were still bound with them”. In other words, they knew what it was like in that failed socialist state, and could pray as the author of Hebrews intended; not vague, faraway prayers, but knowledgeable, precise prayers as those who understood suffering and all that was at stake. For all those who prayed in such a way, whether Venezuelan refugees, concerned Christians around the world, or the Venezuelan people themselves, how awesome it is to see God so clearly answer prayer! (Note: with the current power vacuum there, we ought to continue to pray God would raise up humble, godly leadership during this dangerous transition time.) (7:26) Uncle Bundo’s New Year’s Prison Preaching Plan: In the summer of 2024, I interviewed a few of my friends who were being sentenced by the Biden DOJ for their participation in a peaceful prayer vigil while blocking the entrance to a (now shuttered) abortion clinic in Nashville back in 2021. Uncle Bundo was given 6 months in Federal Prison, which he served in rural Illinois. I share this by way of introduction, because I want to read you a story, a testimony, that Uncle Bundo shared on his Facebook page on New Year’s Day about what happened on LAST YEAR’S New Year’s Day. Stijn Schmitz welcomes Marc Faber to the show. Marc Faber is Contrarian Investor and Publisher of the Gloom, Boom, & Doom Report. Their discussion centers on global economic trends, monetary policy, and the impact of continuous money printing by central banks. Faber, a proponent of the Austrian school of economics, critically examines the current financial landscape, highlighting how central banks and financial institutions are incentivized to continuously print money, which leads to uneven price increases across various assets. Faber argues that money printing fundamentally distorts economic systems, with financial institutions benefiting first from monetary expansion while average workers experience declining real wages. He points out that while nominal GDP might show growth, real purchasing power for most people has actually decreased. The conversation explores the historical context of economic cycles, with Faber referencing economists like Kondratiev and discussing how societies rise and decline. The discussion shifts to geopolitical dynamics, particularly the changing global power balance between the United States and emerging powers like China and Russia. Faber suggests that the US is no longer in the dominant position it held post-World War II, with potential competitive challenges emerging from other global powers. Regarding investment strategies, Faber recommends diversification across assets like real estate, precious metals, stocks, and cash. He sees particular potential in gold, silver, and platinum as alternative currencies, and believes these metals can serve as protection against monetary devaluation. He’s especially bullish on platinum, suggesting it might eventually surpass gold in price. Faber’s investment philosophy emphasizes understanding price dynamics over specific company details, advocating for purchasing assets below their intrinsic value. He remains skeptical of government interventions and central bank policies, viewing them as potentially destructive to long-term economic stability.
