The conversation then turns to a viral Twitter/X anon rant on modern dating, using it as a lens to examine how badly things have deteriorated for Zoomers — from broken incentives to collapsing social norms and widespread alienation. Why are millennials and Gen Z choosing rent over homeownership—and why is this shift reshaping the U.S. housing market? For decades, owning a home was considered the American Dream. Today, that narrative is changing. Younger generations are delaying or completely bypassing homeownership, not because they've failed—but because the math, lifestyle, and priorities have changed. In this Strategy Saturday episode, we break down the demographic trends driving apartment demand and explain why renting is becoming a long-term choice rather than a temporary phase. This isn't a short-term housing cycle. It's a structural shift that real estate investors need to understand. We explore how: Millennials in their 30s and 40s are delaying homeownership Gen Z is entering the workforce as renters by default Rising home prices and mortgage rates are extending renter tenure Lifestyle flexibility and career mobility favor renting over owning Baby boomers are downsizing into apartments and senior-friendly communities Household formation trends are increasing multifamily demand Renting is often more efficient than owning when you factor in hidden costs You'll also learn why the idea that “buying is always better than renting” ignores maintenance, repairs, time, and opportunity cost—and why many high-income households are now renters by choice. For investors, this episode explains why apartment demand will stay strong, why multifamily demand is being driven by demographics rather than speculation, and how the apartment market is being redefined from both ends of the age spectrum. If you're trying to understand the future of apartment renting in the United States, this episode provides the framework. Send us a textWhat if the very traits that once set your career on fire could be turned into a repeatable system that saves companies and jobs—without burning you out? That's the tension we explore with turnaround executive Todd Hugopian, whose fifteen years of undiagnosed bipolar disorder powered massive wins and painful self-sabotage before a diagnosis forced a new path. The meds worked, the edge seemed to vanish, and then he did something rare: he bottled the useful parts of hypomania into practical tools anyone can learn. We walk through the playbook behind multiple successful turnarounds: set audacious goals people can believe in, build calendars that don't lie, measure profit per minute to protect jobs, and run 52 small projects in 52 weeks so momentum compounds without frying your best people. Todd's favorite lever—orthodoxy smashing—shows how to find hidden money in “boring” industries by challenging one stale rule at a time. It's fast, disciplined, and surprisingly humane. We also get personal about mental health at work. Gen Z is open about neurodivergence; Gen X is still running promotions while staying quiet. That gap breeds fear and missed talent. We offer a different approach: normalize how your brain works before you need accommodations, show the strengths it creates, and design pedal-on, pedal-off rhythms that keep performance high and people whole. At home, we talk sensory overload, communication scaffolding for autistic kids, and the courage it takes to replace secrecy with clarity. If you lead teams, crave a smarter way to execute, or want language to advocate for neurodivergent strengths, this one's for you. Most Christians aren’t being persecuted with violence, they’re being persecuted with people. Unfriended. Misunderstood. Labeled. Screenshot. Canceled. In this episode, Jon Ellis breaks down what Jesus actually said about rejection and why following Him will cost you socially, but will never cost you your identity. You’ll learn why rejection is often revelation, how to stand strong when people walk away, and how the Holy Spirit empowers you to stay faithful in a culture obsessed with approval. This teaching is bold, pastoral, and prophetic, exactly what Gen Z and Millennials need to navigate the pressure of modern-day cancel culture. If you feel alone, overlooked, or unfollowed because of your faith… this episode will give you courage, clarity, and the conviction to stand with Jesus, even when it seems like you stand alone. Ever felt unfollowed, misunderstood, or quietly excluded because you chose to stand on Scripture? You’re not crazy, and you’re not alone. Jesus warned His followers that cultural rejection would come, and He taught us how to stand firm when the pressure hits. In this bold and pastoral episode, Jon Ellis equips you with clarity, courage, and practical steps to stay faithful when approval fades. If you’re ready to rise above cancel culture and live Uncommon, this episode will strengthen your resolve.

On today's episode, host Kate Lindsay is joined by Gen Z expert and After School writer Casey Lewis to talk about how Gen Z TikTok users are switching up on Millennials. After years of mocking the generation for being “cringe” online, now people are longing to return to the 2010s and the culture that came with it. But were Millennials really as “optimistic” as the fancams make it seem? And what does Gen Z have, if anything, to be nostalgic about? This Week: We're diving into two higher ed topics this week. First, the University of Alabama suspends and cuts funding for two student magazines, one called Nineteen Fifty-Six, which centers Black voices and experience, and the other called Alice, which is a fashion and wellness magazine that focuses on women. Citing the Trump admin's anti DEI hysteria and Alabama's anti DEI law, the University says it's complying with the law and upholding free speech, almost as if Orwell himself had written the script. Also, we dig into shocking news about the rise in disability accommodations, particularly at many of the nation's most elite colleges. At Stanford, nearly 40% of undergrads are getting disability accommodations. What on earth is happening with Gen Z, and why is it totally their fault and their fault alone, and has nothing to do with the world we made for them or any systemic factors whatsoever? Friends,Today, Heather and I — along with our Gen Z associates Katie Milne and Vishal Shankar — explore why the Republican Party is in near revolt against Trump. Congressional Republicans repeatedly rebuked him this week. Twenty House Republicans joined Democrats in passing a discharge petition to restore union rights to federal workers; 14 signed on to another discharge petition to prevent members of Congress from trading stocks. Meanwhile, a Democrat won the race to become mayor of Miami (for the first time in 30 years), and the Indiana Senate rejected a congressional redistricting plan despite Trump's pressure campaign on Republican lawmakers. Why is Trump losing so badly now? Because his polls are plummeting. He refuses to acknowledge how difficult it is for most Americans to make ends meet — calling the affordability crisis a “sham” cooked up by Democrats, while his tariffs continue to jack up prices. December 12, 2025: Recent data shows unemployment for new college graduates is now higher than the overall workforce — an unusual and troubling signal that entry-level work is breaking down. At the same time, OpenAI's GPT-5.2 marks a shift from AI as a helper to AI as a task owner, reshaping how professional work gets done and raising hard questions about jobs, accountability, and career paths. We also explore why AI is dramatically expanding the role of the CHRO, turning HR leaders into architects of human-AI collaboration, and how "ghostworking" is emerging as outdated productivity metrics collide with modern knowledge work. Finally, a Microsoft executive draws a rare line in the sand, saying AI development should stop if it threatens humanity — highlighting the growing leadership challenge of governance, judgment, and restraint.
If you've ever wondered whether the Calvinist view of Original Sin is really the only Christian option, this video will help you rethink the whole conversation. Today we break down the doctrine of Original Sin, where it came from, and how different Christian traditions understand it. We look at Augustine's view, the Orthodox “ancestral sin” perspective, and why Pelagianism was ultimately labeled a heresy. Our goal isn't to attack anyone's tradition, but to help Christians (and those wrestling with faith) understand what the early church actually taught. Whether you're Gen Z exploring Christianity, a Christian trying to grow, or someone who's been hurt by religion and is trying to figure out where they land, this deep dive will give you clarity, Scripture, and historical context. If you want a thoughtful, non-dogmatic look at sin, human nature, and how God sees us, this video is for you. Stick around to the end, you'll be surprised by how wide the Christian tradition really is.

In a rare moment of collective (fatigue / wisdom / pure awesomeness / mental constipation / fugue ß strike as appropriate), The Good The Pod and The Ugly hosts Ken and Ryan have allowed Thomas to pick the flick this season. He took a chance on a film he'd always wanted to but hadn't seen, and that cinema selection took them to church! Tom picked the Mel Gibson co-written, co-produced, and solely(soul-ly?)-directed, Jesus story spoiler: THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (2004). To their eternal credit, the hosts with no loyalty to any of the major- or bush-league Christian denominations managed to keep civil and polite, if not to each other then to the source material and Gibson's passionate release. Ryan's Catholic upbringing comes in handy for this, his third viewing, as he explains the church's different classifications of visions and what parts of the film pull from scripture and which are attributable to a 19th century fever dream. This ep, Ken talks sexy Satan, Ryan talks sexy Jesus, guest Jack has an unsexy hot take takeoff and landing, and his fellow Gen Z'er Tom sticks it to the olds after mis-Clarking. Skip to the end of the ep for a brief year-end recap of the best and worst first-watched and re-watched films covered in 2025 or skip further for spoilers from Ken as he shares his bulk-pricing Christmas presents for his fellow hosts. In the new year, TGTPTU takes a Graycation (or is Going Gray or lets its Gray Pride shine) with the start of Season 16, tentatively titled By the Powers of (James) Gray's Skull. Marten Lodewijks focuses on declining alcohol consumption. “We're not at a historic low yet,” he says, and is comparable to 90's levels – and much higher than the 70's, he says. There have been dips before, but “what's somewhat unique is the rapidity” of the fall. He looks at societal reasons for lower drinking, including generational dynamics, as Gen Z tends not to drink as much.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

Amanda Montell returns for round two, diving into what she's learned since Cultish dropped: Instagram comment wars as tribal battlegrounds, "platforming" as a thought-terminating cliché, and why understanding opposing views could get you canceled. We bonded over podcast economics, navigated controversy around Sounds Like a Cult episodes on Waldorf and fertility, discussed which cult she'd have joined (artist-led, obviously), and took a truly unhinged detour into vampire raves, Gen Z slang, and the etymology of "no cap." For the first time in the history of standardized cognitive measurement, Generation Z is consistently scoring lower than their parents on many key measures of cognitive development—from literacy and numeracy to deep creativity and general IQ. And the early data from Generation Alpha (born after 2012) suggests the downturn isn't slowing—it's accelerating.” So, what's to blame? “The tools we are using.” He has conducted research and taught at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School. We were all told the same story. Work hard, get an education, and the world will reward you. Dr. Eliza Filby joins us to explain why that story has quietly collapsed, and why inheritance, family money, and generational wealth now shape your future more than anything you do on your own. This episode breaks down the truth about the great wealth transfer, why millennials feel like they are failing, why men are angrier, why women are more stressed than ever, why Gen Z sees the world more clearly than we did, and why most people's lives are shaped by money they never earned and stories they never questioned. If you have ever wondered why life feels harder than it was for your parents, this conversation will change the way you see work, success, family, and the future. If you were in your twenties and could choose to be born at any point in human history, would you be insane to choose any other time to be alive than right now? Our guest says yes, and the statistics back him up. Regardless of perception, shaped in part by politicians and populists, the average person today is richer than John D. Rockefeller simply by virtue of being alive in 2025. And yet, the “anxious generation” of Gen Z and Gen Alpha seem unaware of their own financial wellbeing and appear confused as to why they aren't instantly as well off as their parents in providing for themselves. Many believe homeownership is impossible, that they will never pay off their loans, and that the cost of living is unmanageable. Is this belief based in any reality? Was life truly better for their parents? Or is this a generational cycle of perception? And who benefits from peddling this fear?Norbert Michel is the Vice President and Director of the Cato Institute's Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives, where he specializes on issues pertaining to financial markets and monetary policy. Michel was most recently the Director for Data Analysis at the Heritage Foundation where he edited and contributed chapters to multiple books. Michel is also the author of the book “Crushing Capitalism: How the Stagnation Narrative is Threatening the American Dream”, and coauthor of “Financing Opportunity: How Financial Markets Have Fueled American Prosperity for More than Two Centuries”. They're cultural events powered by identity, influence, community, and the underrepresented audiences shaping modern fandom. The brands that win next year won't be the ones with the biggest budgets — they'll be the ones with the deepest cultural understanding and the strongest consumer trust. In this episode of Frictionless Growth Marketing, Sonia Thompson — inclusive growth and customer experience strategist — sits down with Cesar Martinez, Chief Commercial Officer at Sonoro, the largest multicultural podcast network in the world.
