On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, AG Letitia James essentially just confessed to mortgage fraud. She said she made a mistake by putting Virginia down as her residence, but she's a liar. Year after year, she took the deduction because it was a mistake? In contrast, President Donald Trump followed legal protocols, paid taxes on time, and had verified property values, with Mar-A-Lago worth nearly $1 billion, not $18 million, and still, authorities denied him due process. Also, ESPN analyst Ryan Clark dismissed Robert Griffin III's opinions on the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese WNBA rivalry, citing Griffin's marriage to a white woman as a reason he lacks perspective on issues faced by black women in the league. Clark argued that Griffin's personal life limits his understanding of racial dynamics surrounding Clark's popularity, while also suggesting both players should be celebrated without pitting them against each other. This is disgusting. Afterward, in the chapter "On Rights" from “On Power, individual and human rights, liberty, and equality predate and do not originate from governments, as underscored by the Declaration of Independence. This principle, rooted in the belief that rights are God-given through natural law, distinguishes the U.S. from regimes like Qatar, communist China, Islamists, communists, fascists, and autocrats, as well as domestic democratic socialists. The Declaration of Independence, along with the Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts Declarations of Rights, reflects the consensus among American founders that these rights are unalienable, not granted or revocable by governments. Governments are instituted to secure these rights, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed. Later, Stephen A Smith calls in to discuss politics and sports. The Democratic Party marginalizes moderates, but they shouldn't be able to dictate who joins the party. The last person the Democrat voters chose was Barack Obama - outside that, the party chose the Presidential nominees, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Contrast that with the Republican Party, where the voters chose Trump in 2016. They didn't let the party pick their candidates. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Northwestern history professor and New Yorker contributor Daniel Immerwahr joins Tyler Foggatt to discuss the ways in which the COVID crisis deepened Americans' distrust of institutional experts and propelled R.F.K., Jr., to the height of political power in the Trump Administration. Plus, they talk about how Anthony Fauci's clashes and eventual reconciliation with AIDS activists in the nineteen-eighties and nineties could serve as a guide to repairing the rift between Americans who are skeptical of experts and the officials who set public-health policy today. This week's reading:“R.F.K., Jr., Anthony Fauci, and the Revolt Against Expertise,” by Daniel Immerwahr“Who Gets to Be an American?,” by Michael Luo“The Stakes of the Birthright-Citizenship Case,” by Ruth Marcus“Donald Trump's Culture of Corruption,” by Isaac Chotiner“The Mideast Is Donald Trump's Safe Place,” by Susan B. Earlier this month, a former police sergeant was sentenced to 18 months in prison after he was found guilty of acting as an agent of the Chinese regime on American soil. The man in question is former Sergeant Michael McMahon—who previously worked for the New York Police Department. After leaving the police force, however, he went into the private sector as a private investigator, and it was in this capacity that he became entangled in a Chinese Communist Party operation called “Operation Fox Hunt.”Let's go through the details of this case, as well as what Operation Fox Hunt is all about.
The first American pope, Leo XIV, is making waves by unapologetically restoring traditional Catholic doctrine on marriage, family, and the dignity of life. His early remarks have sparked outrage among progressive activists, but they also mark a sharp turn away from the ambiguities of the Francis papacy. We're going to see the historical and theological roots of Pope Leo's views, exposing the irony of modern progressives advocating for pre-Christian values under the guise of "inclusion."--Head to http://twc.health/turley and use code TURLEY to SAVE $90 off plus Free Shipping *The content presented by sponsors may contain affiliate links. They are the ones who want to return to the darkness of a world closed off from the heavenly life that has broken into our world in and through Christ and his body, the church.”“Progression always, by definition, involves return, as time itself is increasingly transfigured by the light of eternal and everlasting glory.”Timestamps: [01:07] Pope Leo XIV's first statements on marriage and life[04:36] Media and activist backlash to traditional doctrine [06:50] The contrast between Greco-Roman and Christian views on gender and family[11:00] Why true progress lies in a return to eternal truths--Thank you for taking the time to listen to this episode. Timestamp to get straight to the case: (5:38) In 2008, Irish man Jason Corbett placed an ad for an au-pair to assist him in raising his two young children Sarah and Jack. Jason's first wife Margaret had passed suddenly in 2006, leaving him widowed with two small children. American woman Molly Martens answered the ad. She moved from her Tennessee home to Limerick, Ireland to live with the Corbett family. Molly and Jason fell in love and decided to move back to America to get married and settle. Their marriage soon soured - Jason was resistant to Molly adopting his children. Molly would regularly make comments about Jason's weight. One night in August 2015, Molly's father Tom was staying with the family in the Corbett home. He called 911 and reported that there had been an altercation at the home and he had acted in self-defense. When authorities arrived, Jason was pronounced dead. In 2017, Molly and Tom ended up being convicted of Jason's murder. In 2023, they both took plea deals in the case and were resentenced. They were freed from prison in 2024. This case is in the media again due to the new Netflix documentary titled ‘ A Deadly American Marriage.' Season Two of On the Media's Peabody-winning series The Divided Dial is the untold story of shortwave radio: the way-less-listened to but way-farther-reaching cousin of AM and FM radio. The medium was once heralded as a utopian, international, and instantaneous mass communication tool — a sort of internet-before-the-internet. But like the internet, it also took a turn for the chaotic. And like AM and FM talk radio, it also went hard to the right, with extremists and cults still finding a home on the shortwaves.EPISODE 3Today, in the internet era, much of the shortwaves have been left to the most extreme voices — including a conspiratorial flat earth ministry, and an ultra-conservative cult complete with everything from sexual abuse to dead infants and illegal burials. In the 737-person northern Maine town of Monticello, one of the world's farthest-reaching radio stations has given them a home, pumping out extremism and conspiracy theories to the world as the voice of American broadcasting. The Divided Dial was supported in part by a grant from the Fund for Investigative Journalism. On deportations and on foreign policy, the Trump administration is swapping out American values and violating everything the U.S. has stood for in exchange for kleptocracy and transactionalism with the world's worst tyrants. But at the same time, Trump can't even seem to grasp that Putin has been waging war for decades to accomplish his goals and is not interested in cutting a deal to end the bloodshed in Ukraine. Plus, the very dim appointees running our federal agencies, Elon and Marco are now trying to deny they cut food aid, and the unwelcome honorific of being a Trump historian. The Fox News Supreme Court is a political weapon, and it's being wielded to wreck what remains of American democracy. What happens if Trump declares martial law? This week on Gaslit Nation, Andrea interviews Leah Litman, a constitutional law professor at the University of Michigan Law School, co-host of the award-winning Strict Scrutiny podcast, and author of the new book LAWLESS: How the Supreme Court Runs on Conservative Grievance, Fringe Theories, and Bad Vibes. This Court is a multi-decade effort by conservatives to seize power they couldn't win through democratic means. Litman warns about what the Fox News Court is up to. If you thought things were bad, we're staring down a term packed with cases that could fundamentally rewrite public education, religious liberty, and basic civil rights. Take Oklahoma Charter Board v. Drummond. This case actually asks whether the Constitution requires states to allow religious public charter schools. Yes, you read that right: requires. The Establishment Clause prohibits the government from funding religious education. But now, thanks to the conservative justices' persecution complex, where white Christian nationalism is the most oppressed identity in America, obviously, the Court may rule that denying public funding to religious schools is unconstitutional discrimination. Then there's the challenge to a Maryland school district's decision to include LGBTQ+ inclusive books in elementary schools. A group of religious parents is arguing that merely exposing children to stories with queer characters violates their religious freedom. If the Court agrees, it could hand conservative parents a veto power over what public schools teach, effectively outlawing inclusive education if it makes anyone clutch their pearls. What Litman makes clear is that these cases are about redefining public life, turning schools into vehicles for a theocratic agenda. And let's be honest: they're not talking about funding schools for Wiccans or the Church of Satan. This is about establishing a Christian nationalism dictatorship. Yes, it can happen here. Yes, it's happening here. But we are not powerless. Reform is not a fantasy. Term limits. Ethics rules. Court expansion. These are tools, if we find the courage to use them. Because democracy doesn't die in darkness. It's strangled in broad daylight by men in robes, funded by billionaires, and broadcast live on C-SPAN. And if we don't fight back? We're just letting them get away with it. Little progress is being made in negotiations between the United States and Iran over the latter's nuclear program, and that may be by design. The U.S. is demanding a complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear enrichment program, which is a non-starter for the Iranians. Meanwhile, the U.S. appears to have reneged on a promise to get a ceasefire and humanitarian aid into Gaza in exchange for the release of the last American hostage, so Hamas — and by extension Iran — feel the U.S. cannot be trusted in negotiations. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss how Israel appears to be orchestrating a U.S. attack on Iran that few Americans have any interest in. Plus segments on why Joe Biden's cancer reveal is a huge scandal and Bruce Springsteen's epic hypocrisy in attacking Donald Trump. Also featuring Stef Zamorano. And a phone call from George Clooney and Jake Tapper!

On this episode, Tony Brueski digs into the chilling history of Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Exeter, Rhode Island, where legend and tragedy intertwine. Known for the infamous case of Mercy Brown, the "last vampire" of New England. This quiet graveyard hides a dark chapter of American folklore born from fear, disease, and desperation. As tuberculosis ravaged the Brown family, local superstition led to a grim exhumation that would haunt the town's legacy forever.
Imagine this: you're standing inside a trendy L.A. grocery store—maybe it's Erewhon. You've got a cooler full of canned soda that claims to be good for your gut. You're not a celebrity and you're not even the founder of the company. You're just a guy with a vision, a few samples, and the audacity to talk your way into a product launch. That was Steven Vigilante back in 2018. Today, Olipop—the better-for-you soda brand that he helped bring to life—is in more than 30,000 stores across the country. They've partnered with Barbie, NASCAR, the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, and somehow even made it into a Luke Combs music video. But it didn't start there. Steven cut his teeth in venture capital, betting early on health forward brands. When he saw the potential in a fiber-packed functional soda, he jumped in—first as an advisor, and then as the architect behind some of the boldest growth and partnership strategies in beverage today. So how do you build a soda brand that dares to take on the likes of Coke and Pepsi? One that trades sugar for science and still wins hearts and taste buds across America? In addition to all of that, they're also major partners for CITIUS MAG.This is the latest episode of The Build with Steven Vigilante, Director of Media and Partnerships at Olipop, on staying scrappy, scaling smart, and crafting a new kind of soda, one can at a time.Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuest: Steven Vigilante | @stevenvigilante on XSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSPILLAR PERFORMANCE: We all know that sleep is where the magic happens. Is the far Left taking a page out of President Donald Trump's playbook? With the Justice Department launching a probe into former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's handling of COVID in nursing homes, the charges filed against Judge Hannah Dugan (the radical Wisconsin judge who hid a violent illegal immigrant), and the recent charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver (NJ-10) who tried to force her way into an ICE detention center, many on the Left are claiming that the Trump Administration is committing lawfare. The Sekulow team discusses whether President Trump is weaponizing the DOJ against his political enemies, the ACLJ's legal work – and much more.

Fox News anchor Julie Banderas joins Professor Nick Giordano to discuss her new children's book, A Monumental Mistake. This timely story that teaches kids the importance of respecting history, traditions, and each other in an increasingly divided America. But this episode doesn't stop there. Julie and Nick expose the media's complicity in the conspiracy to cover up former President Biden's cognitive decline, as Democrat insiders and legacy journalists rush to publish self-serving books to enrich themselves. This is a powerful conversation about the cultural rot in our society, the collapse of trust in the press, and what it will take to restore honesty and accountability in American life. Episode Highlights: Julie Banderas explains how A Monumental Mistake teaches kids to respect history and warns of the dangers of erasing America's past. A breakdown of how Democrat insiders and media elites conspired to cover up Biden's decline, and why they're scrambling to rewrite the narrative. Why trust in journalism has collapsed, and how the media's self-inflicted wounds have exposed a deeper crisis in America.
For our Tech Talk from EOTech Inc this week we have a question. What is an FRT? After a years-long criminal campaign to target an American gun company, the Federal government has ceased their unlawful persecution of Rare Breed Triggers and been forced to admit what we have known all along, FRTs are NOT machineguns. Also, are Americans preparing for the worst? Fox News recently did a news piece where they traveled to Gunsite Academy in Arizona to find out why people are taking training. What the hell is an “ungun”? During our SOTG Homeroom, we will consider the plethora of “less-than-lethal” devices that are shaped like guns but are not actually guns. Are they a good solution? For generations of Americans, the Johnson & Johnson brand has been a beloved one, as quintessentially American as baseball and apple pie. Its baby shampoo “no more tears” has been a fixture in bathrooms for decades, as has its iconic band aids and talcum power. But it's this last item, the talcum powder, that may prove to be a tipping point in destroying its hard-won 139-year-old reputation with consumers. Author and freelance investigative journalist Gardiner Harris joins us on The Excerpt to discuss his new book “no more tears: The Dark Secrets of Johnson & Johnson,” which is on bookshelves now. OverviewIn this lively episode, the hosts express enthusiasm for the election of Pope Leo XIV, share personal stories, including a wedding-crashing adventure in Mexico, and dive into a deep discussion on the virtue of humility, drawing from Father Beleckias' book Solid Virtue. The episode blends humor, personal reflection, and spiritual insights, with a focus on Catholic faith and living a virtuous life.Key Topics1. Excitement Over Pope Leo XIVNew Pope Announcement: The hosts are thrilled about the election of Pope Leo XIV, an American cardinal with a Tulsa connection, having served on the board of Cascia Hall, a Catholic preparatory school in Tulsa.Historical Context: They discuss Pope Leo XIII, a significant influence (one host named a child after him), and note Leo XIV's choice of name as a nod to this legacy.Conclave Insights: The quick election (likely on the fourth ballot) suggests strong consensus among the cardinals. The hosts avoid speculating on insider details due to the sacred nature of the conclave.Fun Facts: Pope Leo XIV is a White Sox fan, not a Cubs fan, as initially reported. The hosts humorously claim him as "basically from Tulsa."Prophetic Banter: A playful exchange about predicting the length of Leo XIV's pontificate (jokingly suggested as 25 years) and his potential holiness.2. Personal Stories and Anniversary CelebrationDavid's Anniversary Getaway: David shares how he and his wife, Haley, celebrated their 13th anniversary with a phone-free weekend in Mexico to focus on their time together.Wedding Crashing in Mexico: David recounts crashing an Indian wedding at a resort in Mexico, joining the groom's procession with a hype man, music, and dancing. He and Haley briefly joined the celebration before slipping away.Hype Man Discussion: The hosts humorously explore the idea of having a hype man for life events, likening it to a boxer's ring walk or a DJ hyping up a crowd.3. Eucharistic Miracle of LancianoHistorical Miracle: David shares the story of a 12th-century Eucharistic miracle in Lanciano, Italy, where a doubting monk witnessed the host turn into flesh and the wine into blood during Mass.Scientific Studies: In 1977, 1978, and 1987, tests confirmed the flesh as living heart tissue and the blood as human, preserved for over 1,200 years.Spiritual Significance: The hosts emphasize the miracle's importance for reinforcing belief in the Real Presence, while noting that every Mass holds the same ontological reality.Pilgrimage Plans: The hosts invite listeners to join their October 2025 pilgrimage to Lanciano to celebrate Mass in the presence of this miracle.4. Discussion on HumilitySource Material: The hosts draw from Solid Virtue by Father Beleckias, S.J., to discuss the three degrees of humility.First Degree: Complete obedience to divine law, refusing to commit mortal sin even if offered the world or threatened with danger.Second Degree: Holy indifference to wealth, poverty, honor, or disgrace, refusing even venial sin for worldly gain. The hosts reflect on the challenge of achieving this in a materialistic world.Third Degree: Actively choosing poverty, contempt, and disgrace to imitate Christ's humility, as exemplified by saints like Francis and Katharine Drexel. The hosts acknowledge the difficulty of this level, especially for family men.Practical Insights:Humility is not thinking less of oneself but thinking rightly about oneself in relation...
In this podcast episode, former professional soccer player Amir Lowery shares insights from his journey through the American soccer landscape and his transition into advocacy and leadership. A Wake Forest standout from 2001 to 2004, Lowery was drafted by the Colorado Rapids in 2005 and spent several years navigating both MLS and USL rosters, including stints with Kansas City and the Montreal Impact. After retiring from professional play in 2012, he launched a new chapter focused on social impact—culminating in his 2020 run for D.C.'s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Lowery discusses the origins of Open Goal Project, a youth soccer initiative started in 2015, and the organization's shift in 2019 from supporting players to establishing its own club. He outlines the current structure of Open Goal, including how many teams they field and the challenges they face operating within the U.S. youth soccer system. Lowery offers candid thoughts on what needs to change in the national setup, comparing today's youth development landscape to when he began Open Goal. He closes by reflecting on the best and worst aspects of soccer in America—emphasizing both its immense potential and the barriers that still limit access and equity. After World War II, Germany was destroyed…the country was divided…the east was under the control of the USSR…the west was in democratic Europe…and then there was berlin, sitting in the east but cut into different zones dominated by the Russians, the Americans, the British, and the French. Most history books look at the political and military side of things…what we don't hear about nearly as much as how Germany society was rebuilt…imagine being a young person who is too young to have been in the military…what prospects did you have growing up in a divided country ruined by war. This is where art comes in…art is always downstream from whatever is happening in society…and in the case of West Germany, many artists wanted things to be different. Young German musicians had some very serious ideas of what needed to be done…many were into rock…but they were determined to create rock that was different from what was being made in the UK and America. And they certainly didn't want anything resembling traditional German music…it had been tainted by the nazi legacy…it was time for something new, different, and away from the status quo. There were experiments in the 50s that were pretty radical and, frankly, all over the place…but the results of these experiments began to coalesce into something by the end of the 60s. Within a few years, something distinctly German had emerged…it rocked (in its own way)…it had elements of psychedelic music…things could either be extremely structured or open to wild improvisation…it certainly wasn't from any blues tradition or normal rock conventions upon which British or American rock was built. The structures of some compositions weren't exactly what you could call normal—at least not in the context of rock…and occasionally, things got political, but not necessarily in a protest sense. By the middle 70s, we had a new distinctly German sound…the scene was very diverse in terms of sonics, but there was a Teutonic purpose underlying everything. The Germans just called it “German rock”…the British, however, gave it another name…it was supposed to be a joke, but the name stuck…and looking back, this sound, approach, aesthetic, and name can be found throughout many different corners of the rock. This is an explanation of thing that has become known as a “Krautrock”…and believe me, you've heard it more than you realize. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Gravy podcast is excited to share a special episode of a new podcast called Buzzkill, from our friends at FERN, the Food and Environmental Reporting Network. Buzzkill explores the dramatic decline of pollinators, including the American bumblebee, whose numbers have plummeted by 90% in just two decades. The series, hosted by Teresa Cotsilos, delves into how industrial monocultures, rampant chemical use, and unsustainable land practices threaten pollinators—and, by extension, three-fourths of the food crops we grow. Live from Rome, Patrick Coffin shares his take on the historic election of Pope Leo XIV—the first American pope. Reflecting on the symbolism of his name, vestments, and reverent gestures, Coffin sees signs of a return to tradition and clarity. While acknowledging past concerns, including the removal of Bishop Strickland, he urges Catholics to remain prayerful and patient as this new pontificate begins. From echoes of Leo XIII to hints of liturgical renewal, this powerful conversation explores what could be the start of a true spiritual restoration in the Church.U.S. residents!
