Story of the Week (DR):Trump signed an order ending DEI. Here's what it means for Fortune 500 companiesTrump's latest presidential moves mandate government agencies to specifically target companies in the private sector engaged in what it describes as “illegal DEI discrimination and preferences.”Despite the intended chilling effect of these executive moves, multiple legal sources point out that Trump's order and action do not constitute a change in the law. Rather, the language used in the order simply “enforces longstanding federal civil rights laws,” says Britney N.D. Torres, senior counsel at employment law firm Littler.Trump's executive moves just mean that companies will have to continue to carefully review their DEI-related policies, practices and initiatives based on longstanding anti-discrimination laws, and make sure they can't be interpreted in a way that is different from what they intended, she says. This week in Davos, Jamie Dimon reaffirmed JPMorgan's DEI commitments after the National Legal and Policy Center, a conservative nonprofit, proposed the bank revisit how compensation is tied to the company's racial-equity goal. “Bring them on,” said Dimon referring to the efforts from right-leaning groups. “We are going to continue to reach out to the Black community, the Hispanic community, the LGBT community, the veterans community.”Will this ever trickle down to JPM leadership?15 on Operating Committee: 1 POC (an Indian man–Sanoke Viswanathan, CEO of International Consumer and Wealth–who came from McKinsey); 7/15 F though so some credit dueBoard: nearly 50% F but a woeful -21% gender gap; no leadership positions on board or top 3 committees: only committees where women have power are Public Responsibility Committee and Risk Committee; 11 on board: 9 WM and 2 BFCan we stop pretending board and shareholder oversight is a thing? All risks aren't bad, but you want to have the option of which risks you want to take. Working at a larger law firm right out of school allows you to learn from many other lawyers and can give you a broader perspective on different aspects of legal. In your own practice (or in a law firm in general) you want to be working on and building your book of business - rarely are clients going to fall into your lap with no relationship building on your end. When reaching out to a potential client, do your homework first. Try to understand where they are at and what their pain points are.  "I've said this for a long time, the best lawyers know the best way to protect their clients is to know their clients, and there's no better way to know your client from the inside." —  Matt Campobasso Take the BE THAT LAWYER challenge at Fretzin.com! Thank you to our Sponsors!Lawmatics: https://www.lawmatics.com/bethatlawyer/Get Staffed Up: https://getstaffedup.com/bethatlawyer/Green Cardigan Marketing: https://greencardiganmarketing.com/ Episode References: Upstream: The Quest to Solve Problems Before They Happen by Dan Heath - https://www.amazon.com/Upstream-Quest-Problems-Before-Happen/dp/1982134720 About Matt Campobasso: Matt Campobasso is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Enfusion, Inc., a publicly traded fintech company headquartered in Chicago. Project Veritas got an apparent Pfizer executive on video admitting the company does “directed evolution” of viruses, including Corona viruses. It's a great piece of work, but why is anyone shocked? We have covered Pfizer's many crimes and their lies; we have made clear they run the CDC and FDA and most of the Mockingbird Media.https://thetoddhermanshow.substack.com/p/the-united-states-of-pfizer#details. . . we just watched again how much control Pfizer has over media and tech. The MailOnline disappeared their story on the Project Veritas scoop. YouTube has deleted the video. Google played this game: The Mockingbirds aren't covering it. Then, there is Pfizer's response. I break it down in the show. Know this: Pfizer didn't want their response seen by anyone. How do I know? The same way anyone who works in the media knows. Look when they released it. What does God say?The Lord warned us about “times such as these …” Does this not describe everything The Party is pushing in our society? 2 Timothy 3:1-53 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.God will render His judgment 2 Thessalonians 1:9These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,The Lord wants people to repent, He wants to save us. He sent His only son for that purpose! How long have I said Pfizer is a criminal organization? BREAKING: @Pfizer Exploring "Mutating" COVID-19 Virus For New Vaccines. "Don't tell anyone this...There is a risk...have to be very controlled to make sure this virus you mutate doesn't create something...the way that the virus started in Wuhan, to be honest."Who is "Jordon Trishton Walker"?; Project Veritas recently released a video featuring "Jordon Trishton Walker," Pfizer executive who revealed shocking new info. But finding anything about him is tough. Here is what I've found so far.O'Keefe: We've obtained internal Pfizer docs verifying Jordan Walker as Pfizer Director, Research & Development Strategic Operations. Graduated Yale 2013. Doctor Med at U of Texas Southwestern medical school.. His supervisor reports to Mikael Dolsten who reports to Albert Bourla, CEO. Pfizer's response Malone: “OK, this is an interesting tidbit. Pfizer is basically acknowledging that they are doing the same type of gain of function research that Boston University was caught doing, but they are denying that it is gain of function or directed evolution.” CDC Official: “Just get rid of all the ‘whites . . . ‘“Language Warning: CRAZY: Justin Trudeau swarmed by angry protesters outside the Bread Bar in Hamilton.MailOnline deleted the story about Pfizer doing GOF on Corona VirusesAustralian Senator Malcolm Roberts drops truth bombs: "Billionaire, globalist corporations will own everything: Homes, factories, farms, cars, furniture, and everyday citizens will rent what they need - if their social credit score allows."Love or hate her, Ayn Rand was a piercing voice on moral questions that continue to haunt the 21st century. Watch this 1959 clip with Mike Wallace and ask yourself: was she wrong?EmailsCathiHey Todd, I just sat down to listen to your episode of Speak now or forever be held in silence. You had mentioned going on record with feeling like you're in a hostile work environment…YES!I did that with my company, a Major Bank. I've been there 21 years. After January 6th, 2021, The Bank and other woke corporations hopped on the narrative about insurrectionists and no PAC dollars to any elected member who questioned the election…blah blah.Anyway, I professionally and calmly escalated concerns until one The Head of Govt Relation direct reports contacted me and I calmly told them explicitly that The Bank was creating a hostile work environment. The Bank certainly didn't stop with wokeness but going on record like that is the only way to hold them accountable if one needs to take legal action - including if one gets fired for escalating concerns. We have to put that in there for protection - plus it's the truth. In addition, in December 2021 when The Bank and other organizations were pushing the injection or you couldn't take your mask off at work and new people couldn't be hired without proof of the injection, I escalated a letter to all of the Board of Directors, Operating Committee and most Senior Leaders. I told them I would hold them accountable to several things: since the injection does not prevent infection, they're completely ignorant on covid facts; given that the injection doesn't stop infection yet they're still pushing it, it seems entirely possible that some of them may have an unhealthy weighting of stock in pharmaceutical companies and should be audited for a conflict of interest; BUT the kicker of the feedback I gave was that THEY'RE the ones creating systemic racism given that black people and people of Mexican/Hispanic descent have the lowest injection rates and therefore are the ones who are disproportionately impacted by wearing masks and not being eligible for hire without the injection. By Feb they dropped in the injection requirement for new hires. By the end of March they very abruptly stopped their covid testing. I'm not saying it had anything to do with my letter. But it could have helped. If we go on record using their own rules, we can actually say a lot to senior leaders without compromising ourselves. And of course, we must always stay calm in written word and voice.God be with you, Todd.

The dates range from 2025 to 2065 in five-year intervals. The funds are generally weighted more heavily toward more aggressive, higher-risk investments when the target date of the fund is far off, and more conservative, lower-risk investments when the target date of the fund is near. If you are a GrowCFO member you will most likely have come across Patrick Dunne already. When is comes to boards, and how they work, Patrick is pretty much the leading authority. Inside GrowCFO, Patrick frequently talks about the dynamics between the CEO, the CFO and the board. But today we find out about Patrick Dunne the person. He tells me about his career, and why he wrote the book "Boards: A Practical Perspective" Who is Patrick Dunne? Patrick has very humble roots. He hails from Toxteth in Liverpool. He is one of 6 children of an Irish immigrant family. None the less, he got a place at university to read maths, and this led to a very successful career. His executive career started in Chemicals, but he made his name in Private Equity. Patrick's career eventually took him to the Operating Committee of FTSE100 3i Group plc. These days Patrick Dunne owns and runs Boardelta which advises boards around the world. Since retiring from 3i in 2012 he devotes a good deal of time to charitable causes. He is passionate about education in Africa. Patrick is Chair the EY Foundation; ESSA-Education Sub Saharan Africa;. and he is the founder of Warwick in Africa. He serves on the Board of the Chartered Management Institute. He is a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management; a visiting Fellow at Warwick Business School as well as the author of "Boards". Boards: A Practical Perspective Boards provides a practical, realistic, thought-provoking and useful guide to life as a board member. It is split into three areas, 'Purpose', 'People' and 'Process' reflecting the three key areas of concern for any board. We go into these in more detail in the podcast. A fourth section sets out a series of real life dilemmas for readers to practice on. The book is an ideal companion for anyone who is an aspirant, novice or seasoned board member. This makes it great reading for any future CFO. Patrick draws on his extensive range of experience working with and on boards in many sectors, in the UK and internationally. The book is equally applicable to business, charities and social enterprises, professional services firms, public bodies and universities. The book is also written in a highly accessible and engaging style. Patrick's aim is for the book to be practical and to be read by board members. It isn't an academic tome, instead it brings life and fun to what is a very serious topic The CFO and the Board Patrick sees the CFO as one of the most important people on the board. While the CEO runs the executive team and the chair runs the board, the CFO is often the glue that holds it all together. Patrick sees the role of the board and the executive team in the form of a Venn diagram. The two cant be separate, nor can they overlap too much. Want to find out more about Patrick's view on the role of the CFO on the board? Then why not join GrowCFO today?

A popular speaker (and frequent traveler), Heather presents at approximately 50 events a year. A 29-year veteran of the male-dominated wealth brokerage industry, Heather has garnered success in each of her senior roles including premier manager, complex manager, and regional president to her current position as head of client experience and growth. Her current role includes responsibility as a managing director and earned her a seat on Wells Fargo Advisor’s Operating Committee, of which there are less than 20 members. Throughout her career, Heather has earned a wealth of awards, honors and accolades but she would tell you that she feels the most pride in helping others, particularly women, achieve success and happiness in their careers. In addition to her busy work and travel schedule, she serves as an active mentor to five-10 women at any given time. In fact, Investment News just announced her as among its “2018 Women to Watch” and she will be honored at a luncheon in NYC in March. In this episode, we cover 1. Licensed to Pwn: The Weaponization and Regulation of Security Research Jim Denaro Dave Aitel Matt Blaze Nate Cardozo Mara Tam Catherine “Randy” Wheeler Security research is under attack. Updates to the Wassenaar Arrangement in 2013 established among its 41 member nations an agreement to place a variety of previously undesignated “cybersecurity items” under export control. After 18 months and a half-dozen open advisory meetings, the U.S. has taken the entire security research community by surprise with its proposed rule; we are confronted by a sweeping implementation with profound consequences for academia, independent research, commercial cybersecurity, human rights, and national security. While the outcome of this round of regulatory intervention is still uncertain, the fact that there will be more is not. This panel of experts will discuss the context, history, and general process of regulation, as well the related question of “weaponized” research in regulatory discourse. There is significant daylight between the relatively lax text of the Wassenaar Arrangement itself and the extraordinarily broad implementation proposed in the U.S. What will the practical effects of those differences be, and why did the U.S. diverge from the Wassenaar text? Regulators are, even now, still struggling to comprehend what the consequences of this new “cyber rule” might be. So, how are we to understand this regulatory process? What are its objectives? Its impacts? Its limits? How can we influence its outcomes? Eleventh-hour interventions are quickly becoming a hallmark of regulatory activities with implications for the wider world of information security; the fight here is almost exclusively a rearguard action. Without resorting to the usual polemics, what failures of analysis and advice are contributing to these missteps – on both sides? What interests might encourage them? How are security researchers being caught so off-balance? Come victory or despair in the present case, this panel aims to answer the question of whether there is a solution that prevents technology transfer to hostile nations while still enabling free markets, freedom of expression, and freedom of research. Dave Aitel (@daveaitel) is an offensive security expert whose company, Immunity, Inc., consults for major financial institutions, Fortune/Global 500s, etc. At the age of 18, he was recruited by the National Security Agency where he served six years as a “security scientist” at the agency’s headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland. He then served as a security consultant for @stake before founding Immunity in 2002. Today, Dave’s firm is hired by major companies to try to hack their computer networks - in order to find and fix vulnerabilities that criminal hackers, organized crime and nation-state adversaries could use. Immunity is also a past contractor on DARPA’s cyber weapons project, known as Cyber Fast Track. The company is well-known for developing several advanced hacking tools used by the security industry, such as Swarm, Canvas, Silica, Stalker, Accomplice, Spike, Spike Proxy, Unmask - and, most recently Innuendo, the first US-made nation-grade cyber implant with Flame/Stuxnet-like malware capabilities. Immunity has offices in Florida, D.C., Canada, Italy and Argentina. eWeek Magazine named Dave one of “The 15 Most Influential People in Security.” He is a past keynote speaker at BlackHat and DEF CON. He is a co-author of “The Hacker’s Handbook,” The Shellcoder’s Handbook” and “Beginning Python.” He is also the founder of the prestigious Infiltrate offensive security conference (Businessweek article) and the widely read “Daily Dave Mailing List,” which covers the latest cybersecurity news, research and exploit developments. Twitter: @daveaitel Matt Blaze (@mattblaze) is a professor in the computer science department at the University of Pennsylvania. From 1992 until he joined Penn in 2004, he was a research scientist at AT&T Bell Laboratories. His research focuses on the architecture and design of secure systems based on cryptographic techniques, analysis of secure systems against practical attack models, and on finding new cryptographic primitives and techniques. In 1994, he discovered a serious flaw in the US Government's "Clipper" encryption system, which had been proposed as a mechanism for the public to encrypt their data in a way that would still allow access by law enforcement. He has testified before various committees of the US Congress and European Parliament several times, providing technical perspective on the problems surrounding law enforcement and intelligence access to communications traffic and computer data. He is especially interested in the use of encryption to protect insecure systems such as the Internet. Recently, he has applied cryptologic techniques to other areas, including the analysis of physical security systems; this work yielded a powerful and practical attack against virtually all commonly used master-keyed mechanical locks. Twitter: @mattblaze Nate Cardozo (@ncardozo) is a Staff Attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation. He focuses on the intersection of technology, privacy, and free expression. He has defended the rights of anonymous bloggers, sued the United States government for access to improperly classified documents, and lobbied Congress for sensible reform of American surveillance laws. In addition, he works on EFF's Coders’ Rights Project, counseling hackers, academics, and security professionals at all stages of their research. Additionally, Nate manages EFF’s Who Has Your Back? report, which evaluates service providers' protection of user data. Nate has projects involving automotive privacy, speech in schools, government transparency, hardware hacking rights, anonymous speech, public records litigation, and resisting the expansion of the surveillance state. Nate has a B.A. in Anthropology and Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings where he has taught legal writing and moot court. Twitter: @ncardozo Jim Denaro (@CipherLaw; moderator) is the founder of CipherLaw, a Washington, D.C.-based intellectual property law firm and focuses his practice on legal and technical issues faced by innovators in information security. He is a frequent speaker and writer on the subject and works in a wide range of technologies, including cryptography, intrusion detection, botnet investigation, and incident response. Jim advises clients on legal issues of particular concern to the information security community, including active defense technologies, government-mandated access (backdoors), export control, exploit development and sales, bug bounty programs, and confidential vulnerability disclosure (Disclosure as a Service). He has a degree in computer engineering and has completed various professional and technical certifications in information security and is engaged in graduate studies in national security at Georgetown University. Before becoming an attorney, Jim spent obscene amounts of time looking at PPC assembly in MacsBug. Twitter: @CipherLaw Mara Tam (@marasawr) is a semi-feral researcher and historian of policy, justice, culture, and security. She has authored, co-authored, and contributed research for technical policy papers in the fields of international security and arms control. After earning a first class degree in art history, Mara’s work supported bilateral negotiations towards peaceful nuclear cooperation between the United States and India. She has been a participant, speaker, and panellist for academic conferences in cultural studies, languages, and history, as well as for strategic programmes like ‘The Intangibles of Security’ initiative convened by NATO and the European Science Foundation. She is currently a doctoral candidate and freelance thinkfluencer. Twitter: @marasawr Catherine “Randy” Wheeler has served as the Director of the Information Technology Controls Division in the Bureau of Industry and Security’s (BIS) Office of National Security and Technology Transfer Controls since June 2006.
