In this episode of the XS Noize Podcast, Mark Millar is joined by Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland from The Hoosiers to discuss their new album Compassion. The band first broke through in 2007 with their debut album The Trick to Life, featuring huge singles including "Worried About Ray" and "Goodbye Mr A." But this conversation is not just about looking back. It is about where The Hoosiers are now — creatively, personally and emotionally. Irwin and Alan talk about making Compassion, the ideas behind the record, rediscovering joy, holding on to self-belief, and what it means to meet the world with more humanity after years of change, pressure and experience. They also reflect on friendship, survival, the band's journey, the lessons learned along the way, and why this new chapter feels so important. The full video version of this conversation is available on the XS Noize YouTube channel. Black people have been the target forever, yet some Blacks are still allowing themselves to be tokens who get used up and tossed aside! There are Blacks who have fallen for colorism and the racial social construct, and they refuse to open their eyes to the truth! Black people have never tried to be superior, but they are a superpower group of people, not of their own doing but designated and designed by God. Blacks were chosen to take the burden because God knew we could handle it! Blacks have always been there since the beginning of time at all four corners of the earth! All people came from Blackness and it's been hidden from the world, but there is enough evidence out there to see the truth if people got out of their own way to reveal the truth! Black people everything has been on your backs but if you just stand up, it changes everything! Lose the slave mentality that has left an imprint, we as Blacks were supposed to learn from it and become better and stronger, not stay there with the same mindsets! Time for a change! Black men and women must understand that they are the target for prison, jail, and the grave! Stop falling for the racial social construct that has been designed for you to fail! You are unique, own it, and walk it! I understand most Black people are not this way (tokens, jealous, envious, etc.), but those who are put a stain on the rest! It is about owning your power without waiting for permission, offering yourself grace in difficult seasons, and continuing to show up even when motivation fades and clarity is missing. Confidence, clarity, and speaking when it matters.Confident communication isn't about being the loudest in the room. For Susie Wolff, it's about displaying assurance before you even open your mouth.Wolff is a former professional race car driver, managing director of F1 Academy, and author of Driven. Throughout her career in one of the world's most male-dominated industries, she's learned that confidence starts within. “If you want others to believe in you, you need to at least have confidence in your own abilities,” she says. By letting her capabilities speak for themselves, Wolff felt she didn't have to. “I was never the loudest voice in the room. But I made sure when I did speak that I really had something to say.”In this special episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, co-hosted by Matt Abrahams and Tiggy Valen, Wolff shares how inner drive creates outer clarity. For so many of the good ones (the tender-hearted ones, the deeply sensitive ones, the ones who actually care) self-belief can feel almost… I dunno… sketchy and suspicious. Like, if I believe in myself too much, am I becoming arrogant? If I put myself out there, am I being self-important? If I talk about my work, am I turning into one of those cringy people who pontificates loudly on their cell phone outside the coffee shop, so everyone hears about their latest business venture? So here's what I've been thinking about lately: Being good is not enough. Having a beautiful heart is not enough. Having a meaningful mission is not enough. Having gifts, wisdom, depth, devotion, and love is not enough. Because there are plenty of people in the world using the weapon of self-belief for things that do not have the same heart, integrity, or healing inside of them. So what happens when the good ones refuse to pick it up? In this first installment of Field Notes from the Zero, I'm sharing a short inspirational message on why self-belief is not ego or arrogance. And it's definitely not becoming one of the people who hurt you. It is a sacred and necessary weapon that many of clients resist for decades before meeting me and engaging in this work. And if you are here to bring more light, healing, truth, beauty, service, or love into the world… you are going to need it (as much as you wish you didn’t). Welcome to Part 1 of a two-part series where I'm joined by Alex Walker—a Torquay-based haircutting specialist, educator and the founder of AW Hair and Alex Walker Education. We recorded this episode inside Alex's purpose-built education studio in Torquay, Devon (UK)—a dedicated space away from the salon where hairdressers can learn through in-person sessions, small groups, and online education, while staying connected to real, commercial salon work. Alex's journey began at 17, when he fell into hairdressing almost by accident. What started as a job became a craft. He went all-in on haircutting—especially short hair—with a mission to raise standards and help hairdressers understand the why behind what they do. We dig into the realities of ambition, rapid growth, and salon ownership—and the moment everything changed. After his businesses went into liquidation, Alex was left asking: “I haven't got five days' worth of clients… what am I gonna do now?” This is a powerful conversation on resilience, rebuilding, and staying commercially relevant.     Chapters: 11:11: The Journey of Self-Belief 21:27: Transitioning from Hairdresser to Salon Owner 22:54: The Hard Lessons of Business 27:55: The Shift to Education 32:34: Financial Insights and Stability 38:30: Balancing Family and Career Dreams     Resources from todays episode: Join the waitlist for Spotd HERE Follow Spotd on Instagram @getspotdapp Alex Walker Salon CLICK HERE  Connect with Alex on Instagram @alexwalkereducation Alex Walker online haircutting education HERE For everything else Alex Walker CLICK HERE View our video podcast with Alex Walker on YouTube @howtocutit Connect with How To Cut It on Instagram @howtocutit

“Replace judgement with curiosity.” In this episode of Inner Voice of Knowing, I sit down with the Co-Founder and CEO of Mud Organics — a wellness skincare brand devoted to helping women feel confident in their health and skin through an inside-out approach. Her journey didn’t begin in business. It began with determination. By 14, she was working two jobs while putting herself through school, already choosing a different path. At 18, a three-day personal development experience dissolved self-doubt and planted the seed that would shape everything that followed. One year later, she booked a one-way ticket to Amsterdam. What followed was a global career in executive search, a significant health scare, and ultimately, the creation of Mud Organics. This is a conversation about what really creates success — not just what we do, but what we believe. We explore:• The moment self-doubt shifts into self-belief• Taking bold leaps without certainty• Navigating unexpected twists and health challenges• Building a values-led business from lived experience Sometimes success doesn’t begin with a plan. It begins with a decision. The belief that you can — and the integrity to see it through. In this episode, Emma Strangwayes-Booth talks about the stories she told herself about not having enough time to write and how they were tied up with self-doubt, fear of failure, and the pressure to write in the 'right' way. Emma shares how a solo writing retreat and the confidence boost of a pitch party helped her break out of that spiral and build momentum again. She explains why momentum often feels lost during heavy or transitional seasons and how quietly restoring self-belief changes how decisions, energy, and forward movement show up.This conversation serves as both a reflection and a reset, reminding listeners that momentum doesn't require urgency, pressure, or reinvention; it requires belief. If you've felt stalled, stuck, or unsure of your next step, this episode offers reassurance that momentum hasn't left you; it's waiting for belief to lead the way back.Let's keep the FABBO convo going, send me a text!Support the showThank you for being a FABBO listener and supporting the Be Fabbo Podcast

SummaryComparison is not the enemy like most people think. In this episode, Chase Smith and Chris Bealhen explain that the real problem is your mindset, not the comparison itself. They break down why everyone compares themselves and how it can either hurt you or help you grow. It all comes down to the story you tell yourself. If you think comparison means you are failing, it will hold you back. But if you use it as information, it can actually push you forward.Chase and Chris talk about the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset, and how that changes everything. They also explain why comparing yourself to people way ahead of you can kill your motivation, and how to find better comparisons that actually help. They cover how social media makes comparison worse, why you should focus more on habits instead of looks, and how to bounce back quickly after messing up.If you've ever felt behind or like you're not doing enough, this episode will help you see comparison in a completely different way and show you how to use it to your advantage.Chapters(00:00) Why Comparison Can Hurt or Help(01:16) Everyone Compares and Why Mindset Matters(03:33) The Story You Attach to Comparison(05:10) Why Comparing Yourself to the Top 10% Backfires(07:46) Outgrowing the Room and Finding Better Environments(10:57) Upward vs Downward Comparison(12:00) Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset(17:17) Real Life Examples of Health and Fitness Comparison(18:10) Self-Belief, Motivation, and Why It All Starts There(21:41) Appearance vs Performance Comparison(25:11) What Setbacks Really Mean(27:04) Recalculate and Bounce Back Faster(28:30) How to Use Comparison the Right Way(32:29) Compare the Full Process, Not Just the Result(35:18) Social Media, Highlight Reels, and Cleaning Up Your Feed(38:22) Uprooting Toxic Patterns Before They Grow(41:19) Turning Comparison from a Mirror into a Map(42:37) How to Rewire Negative ThoughtsSUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS to be answered on the show: https://forms.gle/B6bpTBDYnDcbUkeD7How to Connect with Us:Chase's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changing_chase/Chris' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/conquer_fitness2021/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/665770984678334/Interested in 1:1 Coaching: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/1on1-coachingJoin The Fit Fam Collective: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/fit-fam-collective

They unpack why motivation gets too much credit, why discomfort is unavoidable if you want to grow, and how mindset and accountability shape long-term progress more than talent ever will. The discussion moves beyond theory into real patterns they have seen across years of coaching and thousands of conversations with people trying to level up their lives. This is not about hype. It is about understanding how belief is built through behavior over time. In today's episode of Next Level University, hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros challenge one of the most common assumptions in personal growth that confidence must come before success. Many people wait to feel ready, certain, or worthy before they take meaningful action, and that delay quietly keeps them stuck. This episode goes straight into the psychology of self-belief, momentum, and why progress often starts before your mindset catches up.If you've been hesitating, overthinking, or questioning your capability, this may change how you see readiness and what it really takes to level up your life.
