Richard McGirr shares why facts alone don't move investors and how a well-crafted personal story can radically improve your marketing and capital raising. He walks through Russell Brunson's Epiphany Bridge script, showing how it builds on the classic Hero's Journey to turn your backstory, “wall,” and breakthrough into a compelling narrative that breaks your audience's false beliefs. Using his own journey—from a collapsed software company and wiped-out income to discovering real estate and reworking a failed Property Llama webinar into a six-figure sales engine—Richard illustrates how story-based presentations can dramatically increase conversions. He closes by challenging listeners to define their own “why,” clarify the moment they realized their old plan wouldn't work, and use that narrative framework in every investor conversation, not just on webinars. How do you see yourself? Do you ever feel like a villain, like everything is your fault? Do you ever feel like a victim, overwhelmed and powerless to change your life? Do you ever feel like a hero, as if you have to succeed because the whole world is depending on you? Today, we're talking about how to see yourself accurately and understand yourself better through three lenses: your villain story, your victim story, and your hero story. These categories are inspired by “The Karpman Drama Triangle” by Dr. Stephen B. Karpman. The original drama triangle describes common patterns in dysfunctional relationships. Selling the transformation, not the transaction, is what separates amateur storytelling from sales stories that convert. In this final part of our Stories That Sell framework, you'll learn how to help customers envision who they become after working with you - not just what they get. Most entrepreneurs default to listing features and benefits: "You'll get 6 modules! It includes templates!" But transformation-based selling focuses on the shift, the change, the new version of your customer. When you master selling transformation through stories, closing sales becomes effortless. In this episode we cover: - How to sell transformation instead of features and benefits - Why customers buy identity shifts, not products or services - Tapping into feelings instead of features when selling - Real-life examples of transformation-based sales storytelling - The complete story-selling formula in action - How to help customers visualize their future selves This is Part 4 of our 4-part "Stories That Sell" framework: Part 1 (Episode 194): The 3 Core Elements Part 2 (Episode 195): Make Your Customer the Hero Part 3 (Episode 196): Become the Trusted Guide Originally released in 2022, this story-selling framework has helped thousands of entrepreneurs learn how to sell with stories that actually convert. Use these 4 parts together to transform your sales approach and turn content into customers. --- Take the "What's Your Sales Style Quiz?": https://www.kristademcher.com/sales-style-quiz Follow us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfQNMxt1N_x6vO_dnizVu2g Follow SHE SELLS HE SELLS on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shesellshesellspodcast Finished the series? Your content might be good, but if your audience can't see themselves in your message, it's not doing its job. There's an uncomfortable truth most founders never hear: your audience doesn't actually care about you; they care about what you can do for them. In this episode, you'll learn why story-driven content only works when your story is positioned as part of your audience's journey. Emma breaks down why "me-centered" marketing falls flat, how to reframe your content around transformation, and the simple mindset shift that turns personal stories into high-converting messaging. Find out how to connect the dots between your experiences and your audience's desires, how to swap "I" language for "you" language, and why sharing client transformations is one of the fastest ways to build trust. You'll also hear practical examples you can apply today, helping you transform your content from a digital diary into a powerful sales engine. What does it mean to be a warrior when the odds are not in your favor and even the world seems to have turned its back on you? Welcome to the world of the heroes in Northern European myth. The divine heroes Beowulf, Sigurd, and Starkadr and the Germanic warriors who venerated them, lived in a world of stark extremes, where courage, honor, and strength were tested at every turn. Their stories weren't just entertainment; they were guides for living boldly in a harsh and uncertain world. While we no longer live in these warrior cultures of the past, those of us attempting to walk this path in the modern world still face the same eternal questions:How do you live knowing that everything you love will one day die?How do you act with honor in a world no longer believes in it?How do you continue to fight when you feel as though the battle cannot be won? This is the world these warriors inhabited, and through their deeds, their trials, and their defiance, we find answers to the timeless questions of how to live, act, and fight with honor today. So, strap in and get ready for a wild ride through the world of the Germanic Hero. There are a million things in our lives that are not clear. Some by design, some by our own making. Next thing you know there's a mess. Maybe you made it, maybe you didn't, but if it's important to you and holding you back…Lack of clarity shows up in many ways.A cluttered, not clean living space that constantly distracts you from simply livingA toxic body that keeps grabbing your attention with annoying symptoms.A toxic mind that is full of junk you don't want to be thinking.A toxic heart full of feelings you'd rather not feel. The list goes on.This episode of Beth of Fresh Air is dedicated to one of my go-to solutions for many problems — to clean the heck up!I'll be exploring one of the 8 limbs in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras that emphasizes the spiritual gains from cleaning up, what cleaning up means at every level — body, mind, and spirit — why detoxing programs is the best way to speed a clean up at every level, and what the disciplined work will make easier.***Find me at bethmartens.com to do a King Hero Archetype quiz and find out where you currently are on the path of purpose.https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-up
"I Have Failed You": What Augie Garrido's Rant Actually Teaches About Coaching Kids Deven recaps the ABCA Youth Summit in Austin, revealing Pitch Smart 2.0 is actively being developed by MLB with universal pitch counts and app-based reporting. The coalition includes PBR, Perfect Game, and Little League, with cross-platform tracking for workload, coach certifications, and ejection histories. New Aspen Institute data exposes the crisis: a 6.9% gap between new players (41% annually) and kids who quit (35%)—a dangerously thin margin. Deven connects this to travel baseball Instagram jokes and MLB injury data (60%+ UCL surgeries on high schoolers and younger), arguing the sport faces a death spiral if public perception remains "injurious and family-hostile." He shares insights from visiting UT Austin with Coach Schloss, Tulo, and Coach Box: multi-sport matters for solving different athletic problems not acquiring skills, SEC coaches "coach the PO out of pitchers" for athleticism, and "season logistics are your kid's growth plate." Deven introduces UT's hero-hardship-highlight trust-building exercise and unpacks Augie Garrido's famous rant, focusing on the accountability line "I have failed you" rather than criminalizing kids' mistakes. The episode closes with self-assessment feedback loops using Jay Fletcher's viral 4-year-old videos, contrasting feedback-driven environments with forcing kids into Don Mattingly mechanics they lack the strength to execute.Timestamps00:00 – Intro, AxeBat code & new local training partnerships02:56 – ABCA Summit recap: Pitch Smart 2.0 in progress with MLB10:08 – Workload units, universal reporting & cross-platform coalition17:45 – The 6.9% gap: 41% new, 35% quit—leaky bucket crisis22:01 – Travel baseball moms, injury stats & death spiral threat27:25 – Fastpitch 300+ pitches: fatigue doesn't care about gender30:17 – Average umpire age 47: no next generation coming31:57 – UT visit: Schloss, Box, Tulo on multi-sport & athleticism38:52 – "They coach the PO out"—why 12U specialists are backwards41:04 – "Season logistics are your kid's growth plate"44:28 – Hero-hardship-highlight: vulnerability builds trust47:00 – Augie Garrido: "I have failed you" accountability lesson53:41 – Self-assessment feedback vs. criminalizing mistakes01:02:11 – Don Mattingly mechanics vs. feedback-driven environments01:05:01 – Outro: guest coming, training optionsLinksStart training with Driveline now with Academy Flex:https://www.drivelinebaseball.com/academy-flex/Develop bat speed with our Youth Power Bat for just $99!https://www.drivelinebaseball.com/product/youth-power-trainer/Skills That Scale: The Complete Youth Baseball Training Manual is out now!https://www.drivelinebaseball.com/product/skills-that-scale-training-manual/Train bat speed and barrel accuracy with our Youth Underload Smash bat - just $79!https://www.drivelinebaseball.com/product/youth-underload-smash-bat/⬇️ Host ⬇️Deven Morgan https://twitter.com/devenmorgan

If you've ever watched a superhero movie, then you'll know the plotline before you walk into that theater. There's someone or something in need of help, and so the heroes get called to save the day. Usually, it involves a lot of back and forth from the enemy, but in the end, the heroes win. What if I told you, we're all broken and in need of a hero? Today, Pastor Dion says that Hero is Jesus! He came to die on a cross so you could have freedom! He saves you from your sin and wants you to live in that truth every day!

As part of our Hidden Killers 2025 Year in Review series, we're diving into one of the most disturbing intersections of true crime and psychology yet — the family of Rex Heuermann, the accused Gilgo Beach serial killer, and their shocking public defense of a man prosecutors call one of the most prolific murderers in modern history. In this powerful two-part special, Tony Brueski unpacks the emotional, psychological, and ethical fallout from Peacock's new documentary The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets — including Asa Ellerup's chilling confession that she still calls her accused killer husband her “hero.” Heuermann's family — wife Asa, daughter Victoria, and son Christopher — sit down for the first time on camera, describing their life before and after the 2023 arrest that turned their world upside down. Despite overwhelming forensic evidence — including DNA links, hair fibers from family members found on victims, and a manifesto allegedly detailing murder methods — Asa insists on her husband's innocence, calling prison visits their “first dates.” Tony Brueski explores how denial, trauma bonding, and cognitive dissonance shape these responses — and why victims' families are calling the documentary “a slap in the face.” Legal experts weigh in on the $1 million payday allegedly tied to the family's cooperation and how this could spark an expansion of New York's Son of Sam laws to block profiting from criminal notoriety. Then, retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke joins Tony to analyze how killers like Heuermann hide in plain sight — and how families miss the signs. Dreeke explains the “truth-default state,” why spouses detect lies only about half the time, and how suburban normalcy becomes the perfect camouflage for horror. The conversation delves into the terrifying psychology of compartmentalization, exploring how someone can live a double life so convincing that even their loved ones see only the mask. From Heuermann's alleged burner phones to his meticulous planning during family trips, it's a case study in deception — and the human mind's desperate need to believe what feels safe.

ONE HOT FEST – BIFF is a special mini-series from One Heat Minute Productions. Host Blake Howard takes you inside the Brisbane International Film Festival — from filmmaker interviews and festival dispatches to reviews and discussions with guests and critics — relaying the energy, stories, and chaos that, in its heyday, made it one of Australia's unmissable film events.Synopsis:Balthazar (Jaeden Martell) is a wealthy teenage boy attending a private school in New York with the help of a life coach. The catch is that he can cry on command, prompting him to upload videos of himself fake-crying about political issues to the internet in an attempt to win over his activist crush. Things become serious when a would-be mass shooter (Asa Butterfield) begins trolling him for speaking against gun violence, causing Balthazar to travel to Texas to confront him.Billy Ray BrewtonBilly Ray is an award-winning writer/director for the stage and screen, a film festival professional with over 20-years of experience programming festivals both large and small, and a podcaster who can be heard on some of the most popular film podcasts around. Fresh off Thanksgiving, the episode opens with a full holiday recap as Country Living releases its Top 10 Thanksgiving foods list. The team compares those dishes to what actually hit the table this year, talks about holiday routines, family visits, and what everyone watched over the break. The conversation expands into Thanksgiving vs. Christmas, holiday phone etiquette, and moments from the past year in the Navy that inspired gratitude. The hosts also share their “Win for the Week.” The episode transitions into major headlines: an Airman indicted for plotting to take over an island in Haiti and enslave its population, a Fort Hood OBGYN under investigation for more than 3,000 cases of sexual assault, and the dismissal of the Commandant of Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy after only a few months in the position. This leads to a broader discussion on whether the public should be told why commanding officers are relieved. Another Stolen Valor case also comes up, involving an individual who earned significant money by fabricating military service. The conversation continues with a tribute to Sarah Beckstrom and a discussion regarding the recent attack on a National Guardsman in Washington, D.C. “Hero of the Week” highlights Army Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson Jr. The team then examines what it means to “chase rank,” how those motivations show up across the force, and several historical examples tied to the concept of “just following orders.” This connects to a conversation about navigating negativity on social media, prompted by a recent incident. To close, the episode covers rules and expectations that many unknowingly break, followed by the long-awaited “Top 5 GOATs.” Additional topics include changes across the Navy over the years, commentary on literacy in the digital era, and a Senior Enlisted Marketplace issue before wrapping with each host's “Do Better” points for the week. These and more topics are covered in this episode. Do you have a “Do Better” that you want us to review on a future episode? He breaks down what the science actually says about HOCl in stabilized water, why that old HOCl / OCl⁻ chart belongs in a museum, how CYA really impacts ORP, TA, and LSI, and why “chlorine lock” is less supernatural curse and more “you nuked the stabilizer and fed the biofilm.”Between the chemistry deep dive, Rudy hits the global pool-industry newswire: PHTA's APSP-11 rewrite, bromate and sodium bromide drama, media consolidation across major trade mags, massive international trade show attendance, European trends in energy-efficient builds, Australian code delays, and South American market movement.

Honest Overview Let's cut the small talk and get straight to the marrow. Brandon Handley isn't just wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving; he's handing you the blueprint to your own evolution. We're sitting here discussing the Hero's Journey—not because we're writing a screenplay, but because it is the undeniable architecture of high-stakes sales, addiction recovery, and relentless personal growth. You think you're just hitting a wall in your business? You think that burnout is random? It's not. It's a pattern. Campbell identified it, Hollywood monetized it, but you? You have to survive it to cash in. Handley breaks down the 12 steps, proving that whether you're white-knuckling a steering wheel outside a liquor store or waiting for legal to sign a massive contract, the psychological arc is exactly the same. Here is the gritty truth about where you are and where you're going: The Call and The Refusal: It starts with a whisper or a meltdown. You know the current routine—the "Ordinary World"—is dead. But then comes the fear. The Imposter Syndrome. The "who am I to lead this?" That doubt isn't a stop sign; it's the entry fee. The Point of No Return: You meet the mentor (maybe it's a person, maybe it's a program), and you cross the threshold. You surrender the need for total control. You stop waiting for permission to lead and you step into the unknown. The Ordeal in the Cave: This is the part nobody puts on Instagram. You face the "Inmost Cave." The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. In sales, this is confronting your insecurity. In recovery, it's sitting with the emotions you used to numb. This is where the old identity dies so the new one can breathe. The Resurrection & Return: You don't just come back; you come back changed. You return with the "elixir"—the wisdom to mentor others, to lead teams with empathy, and to win because of who you are, not who you're pretending to be. The Edge: Hacking the Identity Handley isn't just talking theory; he's engineering the outcome. He's using AI to compose music that reinforces the new identity and breathwork to embody the journey physically. Why? Because imprinting must happen before expression. You have to see it and feel it internally before it shows up in your bank account. The Stakes This is about Superhuman Selling. The market doesn't need another script robot. It needs you—the grounded, aligned, gritty version of you. The version that stopped asking, "Am I enough?" and started playing the game on a mythic level. Stop trying to be "Sales Guy." Be the hero of your own damn story. If you're ready to win from your true identity, it's time to cross the threshold

Patton, a cavalryman, carefully accepted that mechanized warfare was the future and became a great advocate of the tank, though his career progression required caution. He was wounded in WWI, feeling he had failed his destiny to die a hero. Montgomery, post-war, was an aloof but talented brigade major who gained confidence by publishing his views on training, asserting "the Montgomery way." Rommel, who married well, became an inspirational lecturer at the Dresden Infantry School. Patton failed a character test by rejecting Joe Angelo, the man who saved his life, after his zealous role in suppressing the Bonus Army in 1932.
