868 · Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress: History, Debate & What's NextThe Carousel of Progress reimagining announcement sparked one of the most passionate Disney fan conversations in recent memory. Some fans are excited. Others are heartbroken. Many are somewhere in between. And all of it makes complete sense - because this attraction isn't just a show. For a lot of us, it's a memory. A person. A moment that lives somewhere deep. But before you land on how you feel, there's a story you need to hear. One that starts not with the announcement - but in the 1950s, with Walt Disney himself, and an idea that never made it off the drawing board. Because when you understand where Carousel of Progress actually came from, and how many times it has already changed, what Disney just announced looks like something very different. In Episode 868, we trace the complete history - from Edison Square to the 1964 World's Fair to every revision across six decades - and into every detail of what is coming in 2027. The new scenes. The Walt Disney animatronic. The off-planet finale drawn from John Hench's original concept art. The fan reaction breakdown. And the case, built on Walt's own words, for why the carousel moving again after 30 years might be exactly what he always intended.

Have you ever felt like your head is a browser with 47 tabs open, none of them loading, and you can't figure out why you feel so scattered and behind even when you're working harder than ever? Yeah. This episode is going to hit you right where it counts. In this episode of The Happy Hustle Podcast, I sit down with David Allen, the bestselling author of "Getting Things Done" and the creator of the GTD methodology that has genuinely changed how millions of people think about productivity. With over three million books sold across 30 plus countries, David is one of the most influential voices in personal effectiveness on the planet. He's also a husband, a dog dad, a student of Zen, a former karate black belt, a guy who had 35 jobs before the age of 35, and someone who has been living his best life in Amsterdam for the last 12 years. Oh, and he just turned 80 and still does everything he teaches. That detail alone stopped me in my tracks. What makes this episode matter is that David doesn't talk about productivity as a hustle metric. He talks about it as a path to mental freedom. From the moment he started consulting entrepreneurs and CEOs in the 80s, he noticed one universal pattern: people were trying to use their brains as their office, and it was quietly wrecking them. We talk about why ambient anxiety is the silent epidemic no one's addressing, how the modern world has multiplied the volume of inputs to an almost unbearable level, and why the most productive thing you can do has nothing to do with working harder. Here are a few powerful takeaways from this conversation: Your brain is a terrible office, and it's time to stop treating it like one. David makes it crystal clear that your mind was not built to remember, remind, prioritize, or manage the relationships between more than about four things at once. When you try to hold more than that in your head, you end up driven by whatever is latest and loudest, not by what actually matters. Getting things out of your head and into a trusted system isn't just productivity advice. It's a mental health practice. Ambient anxiety is real, and most of us are addicted to it. This one landed hard for me. David describes ambient anxiety as that low grade hum of stress that comes from unprocessed commitments. It's not the kind of overwhelm that forces action. It's the kind you just learn to live with, until you decide you don't want to anymore. Most people never get a reference point for what it actually feels like to have nothing on your mind except what you want on it. That clarity is available to you, and this episode shows you how to get there. Capture, clarify, organize, reflect, engage. In that order, every time. The GTD methodology is five steps, and David walks through each one in a way that finally makes it click. The biggest mistake most people make is skipping the clarify step, collecting tasks without ever deciding what they actually mean or what the next action is. Outcome thinking plus action thinking, together, is the engine of real productivity. Miss either one, and you end up with either a dream that goes nowhere or busyness that produces nothing. Reflection isn't a luxury. It's the step that holds everything together. David recommends a thorough weekly review of all your commitments, not because it's a nice habit, but because without it your system goes stale and your trust in it collapses. When you reflect consistently, you've already done the thinking. In the moment, you just pick and shoot. That's the kind of clear, confident decision making we all want, and it starts with scheduled stillness. The two minute rule is still one of the most underrated productivity moves out there. If something takes less than two minutes, do it now. David told me he has zero backlog of two minute tasks because they're already done. Walk around your house right now and notice how many little things are nagging at you that would take under two minutes to fix. Do them. Your environment will feel completely different, and so will your head. We also get into the six horizons of thinking, how "channel creep" is quietly overwhelming your focus, what David would tell his younger self, his take on procrastinating the things you love most, and the publishing advice he wishes more aspiring authors knew before writing their first word. This episode is a reminder that happy hustling isn't about doing more. It's about being appropriately engaged with everything you've committed to, so you can actually show up fully for the things and people that matter most. If you're ready to clear the mental clutter, trust yourself more, and finally build a system that works with your brain instead of against it, this conversation is for you. What does Happy Hustlin' mean to you? David kept it perfectly simple, the way only someone who's spent decades thinking about this stuff can. He said it means relax, trust yourself, and have fun. That's it. Do the work, stay curious, and don't take yourself so seriously that you forget to enjoy the ride. Head over to https://caryjack.com/podcastin/ to listen to the full episode. Pastor Will Ford's message emphasizes that encountering God can happen through engaging with His creation. Using scripture from Genesis, Luke, and Deuteronomy, he highlights that humans, created in God's image, have a sacred role in life and stewardship, and that standing for life—from the womb to the grave—is central to honoring God. He explores the historical and spiritual consequences of child sacrifice, abortion, and eugenics, drawing parallels from biblical accounts to modern practices, while urging men and the church to pursue holiness, protect the next generation, and participate in movements like the Citizens for Life as acts of connecting with the Creator.

Six years in, she made the decision to leave stability behind, book a course at the London College of Fashion, and bet on herself fully. That leap is what shaped the distinct voice so many of us know her for today. In this episode, they get into the rise of the algorithm and the death of individuality, the lost regional style cultures of the 90s, the quiet luxury aesthetic creators are adopting to access luxury brands, why she's building her own show Sunday Stroll instead of chasing brand deals forever, the real talk on managers and money in the creator economy, and what it means to choose joy as resistance.Honest, sharp, and refreshingly direct — this one will have you rethinking how you show up online.

Submit a Question or CommentIn this verse-by-verse Bible study of Job 31:13–40, Reasoning Through the Bible examines Job's final defense as he lists the good things he has done for servants, the poor, widows, orphans, strangers, and the needy. This session explains why those works are commendable and necessary, but why they still cannot justify anyone before God. This study also highlights two important biblical truths from Job 31: human beings are known by God in the womb, and all people are equal before their Creator. The passage speaks clearly against class pride and shows that every human life bears dignity because God made each person. The second half of the episode addresses trusting in wealth, boasting in moral behavior, and Job's bold desire to stand face to face with God and defend himself. The session shows why that instinct is dangerous, why self-righteousness always fails before God's holiness, and why the only true righteousness a sinner can have is the righteousness of Jesus Christ credited by faith. Topics in this episode include: Job 31 explained  good works and justification  helping the poor and orphans  life in the womb  equality before God  trusting in wealth  self-righteousness  righteousness through Christ  the judgment seat of Christ Reasoning Through the Bible is a verse-by-verse Bible teaching ministry committed to careful exposition, biblical context, and faithful application.Support the showThank you for listening!!  Please give us a five-star rating to help your podcast provider's algorithm spread RTTB among their listeners. You can find free study and leader resources at the following link - Resource Page - Reasoning Through the BiblePlease prayerfully consider supporting RTTB to help us to continue providing content and free resources. Send us Fan MailFree will sounds like freedom until you read Romans 1 slowly. We sit with a heavy but clarifying idea: reprobation is not God “making” people sin, but God handing people over to what they demand, removing restraint, and letting choices ripen into consequences. If you've ever wondered why some hearts seem unreachable, why certain debates go in circles, or why culture can call darkness “progress,” this study will press on every one of those nerves. We follow Paul's logic through Romans 1:24 to 32, tracking the repeated phrase “God gave them up” and what it means for idolatry, worship, and moral collapse. We talk about the difference between worshiping the Creator versus serving created things, and why that shift doesn't stay private. When a society celebrates what God condemns and demands approval, the issue is bigger than behavior; it's a picture of disordered love and a mind losing the ability to judge clearly. The conversation ends where it should: with self-examination, gratitude for mercy, and urgency to live and speak the gospel with love and boldness. When Oswald and Biddy Chambers ran a Bible college in London from 1911 to 1915, they continued with their life principle of not turning away those in need. Astute Londoners were aghast at this practice, thinking the college would be taken advantage of. In response, Oswald observed, without inviting others to follow in the practice, “My responsibility is to give. God will look after who asks.” The couple followed the example of our generous Creator. Through His instructions to Moses, God laid out gracious ways for His people to live and serve others, including giving of their food and possessions. Moses told the Israelites at the end of every three years to “bring all the tithes” so the Levites, “foreigners, the fatherless and the widows,” could come and “eat and be satisfied” (Deuteronomy 14:28-29). Through the generosity of His people, God cares for the vulnerable. The Chambers’ trust in God was so strong that they gave willingly and without question. They’d learned to “revere . . . God always” (v. 23) and receive His blessing “in all the work of [their] hands” (v. 29). We may also feel inspired to give freely while we lean on God for wisdom and discernment. We know that our generous God will lead and guide as He provides for the foreigners, the fatherless, and the widows.

With its third season in seven years, “Euphoria” concluded a thrilling, provocative and tumultuous run with a cast of the defining young actors of the 2020s: Zendaya, who won two Emmys for her portrayal of Rue, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and more. Thirty years later, they reunite at Niall's (Jamie Bell) wedding, but Ruben (Gadd) seems uneasy and on edge; when a sudden act of violence erupts, it sends the story back through their shared past, revealing how their bond was shaped and how even the closest relationships can ultimately fall apart. It received positive reviews for its blistering writing, direction from Alexandra Brodski and Eshref Reybrouck, and the performances from the cast. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260601dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 All Three Persons at the Beginning Before anything existed, God was already there. He did not emerge from the darkness. He spoke into it. With nothing but his powerful word, he brought everything into being. These opening words of the Bible remind us that creation is not random or accidental. It is intentional, ordered, and purposeful because it comes from God himself. And already here, at the very beginning, we see the mystery and beauty of the Trinity. The Father is the Creator, the one who wills and designs. The Spirit of God is hovering over the waters, present and active, sustaining and preparing. And the Son is the One through whom all things are made. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit together bring light into darkness. That matters more than it might seem at first. The same triune God who created light out of darkness is the one who speaks into the darkness of our lives. There are times when life feels formless and empty, when sin, guilt, or uncertainty leave us without direction or hope. Left to ourselves, we cannot create light. We cannot fix what is broken. But God still speaks. Just as surely as he said, “Let there be light,” he has spoken again to us in his Word. In Jesus, the living Word, God steps into our darkness. He brings forgiveness where there is guilt, life where there is death, and clarity where there is confusion. The Spirit continues to hover, working through the Word to create faith in hearts that were once empty. So, when your world feels chaotic or empty, remember where everything began. Not with darkness, but with God. And where God speaks, light always follows. Prayer: Lord God, thank you for putting me into this world you have created. Continue to bless me with the promises of your holy Word. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at PrayingChristianWomen.com/journal today! What do you do when the world around you is constantly chasing false idols — when society’s empty promises tempt you to forget the true source of your provision? Join Jaime on the Praying Christian Women Podcast for a devotional on Psalm 65 — God’s Abundant Favor to Earth and Man — a psalm that speaks directly to the spiritual battle for our loyalty and the revolutionary goodness of the one true God. Jaime unpacks the rich historical and geographical context of this beautiful passage, revealing that it is far more than just a simple harvest celebration. Instead, she explores its powerful original purpose: a bold, spiritual assault on the false Canaanite god, Baal. While the ancient world was ruled by the fear of bloodthirsty, territorial deities who demanded horrific sacrifices in exchange for rain and crops, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob revealed Himself as a completely different kind of ruler—a loving Father who provides not because of what we do, but because of who He is. Even today, when we are surrounded by a culture that tempts us to fill our voids with modern-day idols and fleeting comforts, God remains the ultimate authority over the chaos. He is the One who truly establishes the mountains, stills the roaring seas, and crowns the year with His bounty. When the world demands constant noise and striving, God gently invites us into His courts, showing us that even our awestruck, still silence can be a profoundly effective form of praise. Come ready to lay down the earthly vices you’ve been clinging to and confront the ways the enemy tries to veil your spiritual eyes. Let this psalm remind you of the stark contrast between the exhausting demands of this world and the boundless grace of the Creator. Because He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, you don't have to look anywhere else to find your ultimate satisfaction, and you can confidently join all of creation in shouting for joy. When God made fish and told them to be fruitful and multiply, He gave some of them very special abilities so that they could do this. Some 23 families of fish actually change from females to males or from males to females, to help their species reproduce. This ability to change sex, as do tropical fish, produces some amusing behavior. Clownfish are particularly popular among fish hobbyists, who might find that top female fish they recently purchased has become another male! Often, the wrasse family spawn on large coral reefs, dominated by stronger, territorial males who chase the weaker males away from the reef. But often the smaller males will take on the appearance of a female. Under this disguise, they join the line of females that are waiting to spawn with the dominant male. While in line, these pretenders encourage the ladies in waiting to spawn with them, rather than with the large dominant male. This biological clowning poses a couple of problems for believers in evolution. For one thing, it encourages the very opposite of reproduction of the strongest and best. And there are so many different kinds of fish that change sex that evolutionists have decided that they must have evolved several times.Of course, we know that the natural ability to change sex came from an imaginative Creator.Genesis 1:21-22"And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”Prayer: Dear Father, I took in wonder and awe at the beauty and imagination You expressed so freely in Your work of creation. Help me to never cease glorifying You as my gracious and wonderful God! It's the foundation of your marketing — the thing that makes your ideal clients self-select before you even say a word. In this episode, you'll hear:The story of Jenna's aunt — and the moment she realized her messaging wasn't as clear as she thoughtWhy the classic "I help statement" still works to explain what you do The #1 mistake business owners make when writing their marketing statement: using their expert language instead of their client's languageWhy cramming everything you do into one sentence actually makes you less clear, not moreWhat an old-school PR pro taught Jenna about messaging How a clear positioning statement makes your social media marketing work harder — and gets your content in front of the right people fasterThe big takeaway:More information does not equal clarity. Whether you're brand new to entrepreneurship or years into running your business and marketing your service online, your job is to find the one key result your clients actually want — and lead with that. Jesus Gave His Followers the Earth's Most Intimate Relationship – a Personal Relationship with God, the Universe's Creator MESSAGE SUMMARY: The idea of an intimate relationship is to truly know someone; and you are given the privilege of knowing God, the Creator of the Universe. You are given the privilege of being close to Him and to have a personal and dynamic relationship with the God of the universe. Your relationship with God is made possible through Jesus the Christ and God's gracious gift of the Holy Spirit.  Paul, in Romans 8:37-39, succinctly defines God's uncompromising love for you through His personal relationship with you: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.". Jesus puts the Holy Spirit in your life so that you can commune and have personal fellowship with God -- the most intimate relationship on earth.     TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, help me to be still and to wait patiently for you in silence. Send us Fan MailNothing shakes us faster than the feeling that something real just got threatened: our image, our relationships, our safety, our future. Today we take a single ACIM statement and push it all the way into lived experience: “The resurrection demonstrated that nothing can destroy truth.” If that is true, then what exactly are we defending, and what would it feel like to stop?We walk slowly through Chapter 3 Section 3 (paragraphs 8 to 9) and unpack why the Course says good can “withstand” evil, why light does not battle darkness, and why the atonement is presented as the perfect lesson that confirms every other teaching. Along the way we answer a listener question about the light and dark metaphor, offering a clean translation that keeps the teaching practical without turning it into a dualistic struggle. The heart of the episode is application. We explore the Course's “deductive approach” to healing: start with the general truth and apply it to every specific moment, instead of analyzing problems one by one. Then we move into the lived meaning of “commending your spirit into the hands of God” as a decision to drop self-authorship, let the mind awaken from the dream of separation, and remember its Creator. The result is not occasional calm, but the possibility of perfect integration and the reign of the peace of God.If this resonates, subscribe, share the episode with a friend who is tired of fighting their mind, and leave a review so more people can find these ACIM deep dives. The One Who Holds it All Together Speaker: Michael Shockley, ReCreate Church Scripture: Colossians 1:15-17 (NLT) Episode Summary On a 5th Sunday family service, Pastor Michael invites kids up to conduct magnetic experiments while challenging the false idea that you can't love science AND love Jesus. Through Colossians 1:15-17, he reveals that Jesus is the Cosmic Painter and Eternal Engineer behind everything science studies, and that the same Jesus who holds atoms together can hold our lives together. Key Points – Invisible doesn't mean imaginary - just like we can't see magnetic force but can see what it does, we can't see God but can see what He does – Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God - He shows us what God is like in His heart and character by showing love to the forgotten, outcasts, and broken – Jesus created everything visible and invisible - all stars, atoms, molecules, light, matter, energy, space, time, and spiritual powers in the heavenly realms – "Firstborn" doesn't mean born first but first in rank, honor, authority, and supremacy - Jesus has real authority over galaxies and gravity, atoms and angels – Jesus holds all creation together - protons in atoms should repel each other and collapse, but they don't because Jesus sustains the laws that hold creation stable – The Same Jesus who holds the universe together can hold families together, hold our hearts together, and hold us when we're scared, grieving, or falling apart Main Takeaway Jesus made it all, Jesus owns it all, Jesus holds it all together. Science and faith aren't enemies - explaining how something works proves the brilliance of the designer, not that the designer doesn't exist. The more we learn about how the world works, the more we should praise God for making such an amazing world. When life feels like it's falling apart, remember that the Creator of Life is strong enough to hold you together. Memorable Quotes – "Jesus made it all, Jesus owns it all, Jesus holds it all together." – "Invisible doesn't mean imaginary." – "Science shows us how. Faith shows us Who." – "Science doesn't make God smaller. It shows us more and more how BIG He Is!" – "Jesus loves us and laid down His Life for us. And then He Rose Again, because The Creator of Life can't be conquered by death." – "The Same Jesus Who Holds the universe together can help us hold it together." – "If you're turning your heart toward Jesus, He attracts you. If you're turning away, you resist His Love." Reflection Question What parts of your life feel like they're falling apart? Are you willing to trust the One who holds atoms together with holding your heart, your family, and your future together? Tune in to hear the interactive magnetic experiments with kids, why spilled milk never spells out the meaning of life (proving accidents make messes, not masterpieces), the explanation of why atoms don't blow apart, and why Pastor Michael is excited about Vacation Bible School's "Glad Scientist" theme. A lot of people say they want to write a book, but what they really mean is they want to have written one. We get honest about the gap between those two things, and why the difference is almost never talent. It's grit, craft, and the decision not to quit when the work turns into a long, hot march. We talk with the author behind the Gunny Mac historical fiction series, a storyteller shaped by the Marine Corps, deep reading, and a love of character-driven plots. He shares the simple mindset shift that helped him stop romanticizing the process and start finishing pages, plus the surprisingly powerful lesson he picked up at a small writers conference: nail your concept and premise, then let character logic do the heavy lifting. If you've ever felt stuck, this will give you a practical way forward without gimmicks. From there, we dig into what makes historical fiction feel alive. He explains how research becomes story texture, why humor belongs even in hard times, and why shock-value violence can't replace real character development. We also get into the themes that run through his books: duty, honor, service, faith, redemption, and the kind of loyalty that turns strangers into family. You'll hear how Gunny Mac is built as a tough Marine with a bruised heart, and why flawed people trying to do the right thing can be the most compelling heroes. If you love WWII-era history, Marine Corps stories, character-driven novels, and no-nonsense writing advice, you'll get a lot out of this conversation. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260601dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Discipleship. It's a fundamental, core, calling of God in Scripture. What does it mean? Let's go back to God's creating the heavens and the earth, and all living things for a starting point. God created human beings unique among all of his creatures. Human beings were created in the image of God. What does this mean? Foundationally, it means we were made for a relationship with God! To love God as God loves us. And we were created to grow in our relationship with our Creator. I guess you can call it a growth in discipleship - knowing God, loving God, living in a good relationship with God.

At first, Louise believed she was different. He could argue with colleagues, professionals, institutions, and family members, but with her, he seemed loving, principled, and safe. Over time, Louise's life became smaller around his needs, his career, his battles, his conspiracy thinking, and his version of reality. Louise's story is about subtle control, financial dependence, betrayal, gaslighting, privacy violations, and the shock of realizing that the person who once made you feel chosen can later treat you like the enemy.
