Sie war die Wirtin der Hafenstraßen-Besetzer, erlebte die Zeiten der Seeleute und Luden. Der „Schöne Mischa“ und der „Schöne Klaus“ saßen bei ihr am Tresen. Mit ihren Damen, die nicht selten für Aufruhr sorgten. Und einmal auch die Wut der Wirtin zu spüren bekamen. Vor 50 Jahren landete Frauke Brauns auf dem Kiez. Eigentlich nur, um sich als Kellnerin etwas dazuzuverdienen. Doch St. Pauli ließ sie nicht mehr los. Heute ist sie 68 Jahre alt und noch immer Wirtin der „David Quelle“ – mit 118 Jahren eine der ältesten Kneipen St. Paulis. Die Kult-Wirtin berichtet von Stammkunden, deren Haustürschlüssel sie hat und einem tragischen Notfall. Von Junggesellenabschieden, einem Mann in Dirndl mit tiefen Einblicken und ganz besonderem Latex-Outfit. Sie erzählt von den alten Zeiten, in denen Seemänner den Laden fast zerlegten, Huren sich bis „aufs Blut“ zofften und Zuhälter die Damen aus dem Laden zerrten. Vom „Schönen Mischa“ und „Schönen Klaus“. Von Stress mit Domenica und der Zeit, als sie Wirtin der Hafenstraßen-Hausbesetzer war. Und von ihrer großen Liebe – zu dem Viertel und ihrem legendären Laden.

Line an 8-inch/20-cm baking pan with parchment paper.Melt 2 1/2 ounces/80 grams dark chocolate (70 - 79% cocoa solids).Stir in 1 1/4 cups or 250 grams granulated white sugar or caster sugar (by weight not volume). Stir in 1/4 cup or 60 milliliters olive oil; 3 tablespoons or 62 grams molasses or (better yet) black treacle; and 1 tablespoon or 15 milliliters vanilla extract. Finally, stir in 2/3 cup or 160 milliliters unsweetened almond milk.Now blend these in a SECOND bowl: 1 cup or 120 grams all-purpose or plain flour; 3/4 cup or 62 grams unsweetened cocoa powder; 1 teaspoon baking powder; and 1/4 teaspoon table salt.Stir in the flour mixture, then stir in 1/2 cup or 56 grams chopped shelled walnuts. Scrape and spread every speck into the prepared pan.Bake until puffed and set, about 20 minutes. Luden anlässlich des terroristischen Angriffs durch die Hamas in Israel zu einer Solidaritätskundgebung auf, die am Dienstag, dem 10. Oktober 2023 um 17.30 Uhr auf dem Johannes-Rau-Platz in Wuppertal-Barmen stattfindet. Die Tötung, Entführung und Schändung Unschuldiger darf nie ein Mittel von Konflikten sein. Die Kundgebung versteht sich insbesondere auch als Solidaritätserklärung mit der jüdischen Kultusgemeinde. Gerade mal 28 Quadratmeter inklusive Lagerräume misst der „Mini-Grill“ an der Clemens-Schultz-Straße. Doch der 1966 eröffnete Imbiss ist eine Institution auf dem Kiez. Ein Ort, an dem sich Nachbarn auf einen Schnack treffen, einsame Senioren jemanden zum Reden finden und Obdachlose umsonst etwas zu Essen bekommen. Auch für Peter Lüllemann (62) eine ganz besondere Welt. 33 Jahre lang stand er hinterm Tresen. Jetzt hat er das aktive Geschäft schweren Herzens seinem Sohn Marc (31) übergeben. Vater und Sohn liefern sich einen Schlagabtausch, diskutieren über vegetarische Produkte, Trüffelmayonnaise und vegane Hähnchen. Peter erzählt von den Anfängen des Ladens in einem „verdreckten, rauen Viertel“. Von einem unverschämten Luden, einsamen Senioren und einem durchgedrehten Kunden. Und was Hähnchen mit Sex zu tun haben. Sohn Marc berichtet, warum er eigentlich nie in den Imbiss mit einsteigen wollte. Er erzählt von besoffenen Engländern, Veränderungen auf der Speisekarte und seinem großen Traum. Die MOPO-Reporter Wiebke Bromberg und Marius Röer trafen die neue und alte Generation des „Mini-Grill“ auf dem Kiez.

Wie er nicht ganz legal an seine Wohnung auf dem Kiez kam und wodurch er vom Handwerker zum Schauspieler wurde. Er erzählt von mies gelaunten Regisseuren und ihrem Lieblingsspruch, den er nicht mehr hören kann. Warum die Arbeit am Set längst nicht so spannend ist, wie Außenstehende meinen. Wie er sich auf seine Rolle als „Nasen-Ernie“ im Film „Der Goldene Handschuh“ vorbereitete und welche Rolle er gerne mal spielen würde. Sie ist weltbekannt, die Reeperbahn in Hamburg. Jetzt gibt es eine Serie über das berühmte Rotlichtmilieu: "Luden - Könige der Reeperbahn" (Prime Video). Wer sich bisher schon für Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit St. Paulis interessiert hat - immerhin hält der True Crime-Trend einige davon parat - wird einige der Charaktere in der Serie wiederentdecken. Die Zuhälter-Kartelle "GMBH” und die "Nutella-Bande” etwa. Die es tatsächlich gab, genauso wie die Hauptfigur, den "Schönen Klaus”, der immer noch lebt. Die Serie ist inspiriert von wahren Begebenheiten und Showrunner Rafael Parente und sein Autorenteam haben mit so einigen Zeitzeugen gesprochen, auch dem Schönen Klaus.Gedreht wurde die Serie zur einen Hälfte von Laura Lackmann ("Mängelexemplar"), zur anderen von Istvan. Und der Cast kann sich auch sehen lassen, unter anderem spielen Jeanette Hain, der gebürtige Hamburger Aaron Hilmer ("Im Westen nichts Neues") und Lena Urzendowsky ("Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo"). Aber warum fasziniert das Rotlichtmilieu so? Und was hat das Team bei den Dreharbeiten beachtet? Immerhin geht es in dieser Serie neben der Geschichte St. Paulis auch um Sexarbeit, Gender, Männlichkeit und - na klar - Sex. Davon erzählt Rafael Parente, einem der Headautoren und Creators von "Luden - Könige der Reeperbahn".

Nils erzählt, warum ihm eine Hure am Fenster in der Herbertstraße Geld zusteckte und wie ein Türsteher reagierte, als dessen Hintermann sich erdreistete zu hupen. Cäptn Clepto (51) ist ein erfreulicher Fall von Verhaltensauffälligkeit. Das sagt zumindest ein Kiez-Kumpel über den langhaarigen Typen mit Schnauzer. Im Morgenrock geziert von pinken Flamingos sitzt er in der „Küche für alle“ eines selbstverwalteten Wohnkollektivs auf St. Pauli und trinkt Kamillentee. Verhaltensauffällig? Das würde Cäptn Clepto so nicht sagen. „Ich gehe beschwingt durchs Leben, umarme gerne Menschen und kleide mich farbenfroh. Mein Name ist James Bunt, um mal ganz witzig zu werden“, sagt Timo Strohmann, wie er mit bürgerlichem Namen heißt. Ein Lebenskünstler. Ein Paradiesvogel mit breitem Hamburger Slang, der sich selber als Botschafter des Skateboardens sieht und bekannt wurde als Galionsfigur des Streetwear-Labels Cleptomanicx. Cäptn Clepto berichtet, wie ihn eine Karte aus der Karibik zur Galionsfigur machte. Von seinem „Rausschmiss“ aus Kiel und dem Weg nach Hamburg. Von der Gründung der Skatergang „Cobracabana“. Von seinem Auftritt als Ei in einem Astra-Werbespot. Wie er zum FC St. Pauli-Fanclub „Ramba Zamba“ kam und Teil eines selbstverwalteten Wohnkollektivs auf St. Pauli wurde. Und er spricht über seinen großen Traum. Die MOPO-Reporter Wiebke Bromberg und Marius Röer trafen den kunterbunten Cäptn auf dem Kiez.

Tomas Benakovic (48) ist als Unternehmer, Filmproduzent und Gastronom in der ganzen Welt unterwegs. Dabei begann seine „Geschäftstüchtigkeit“ damals auf dem Schulhof. Mit „vom Laster gefallenen“ Jeans, die er an Mitschüler vertickte. Da war „Tomi“ gerade mal 14 Jahre alt. Seine Kindheit geprägt von Kneipe, Milieu und Jugendgang. Aber auch von Zusammenhalt und der Liebe seiner Oma und Mutter. Sein Weg führt ihn immer wieder zurück zu seinen Wurzeln. Dieses eine, tiefe Gefühl – das hat er nur auf St. Pauli. „Du kannst aus dem Ghetto, aber dein Ghetto nicht aus dir. Ich bin und bleibe Kiez“, sagt der Mann mit dem akkurat gestutzten Bart und den nach hinten frisierten Haaren. Er ist Inhaber der „Hans-Albers-Klause“ an der Friedrichstraße. Dem Ort seiner Kindheit. Tomas berichtet von seinen ersten Erinnerungen an die Klause. Von seiner alleinerziehenden Mutter und Stammgästen, die sich liebevoll um ihn kümmerten. Er taucht ein in den Kiez seiner Kindheit. Kleine Geschäften rund um die Wohnung an der Talstraße, kreidebleiche Drogenabhängige auf dem Schulweg, Huren, Luden und Betrunkene. Er berichtet von dem großen Zusammenhalt auf dem Kiez und seiner „Ghetto-Romantik“. Von skurrilen Begegnungen auf dem Transenstrich und harten Kerlen, die er so sehr bewunderte. Von krummen Geschäften und seinem Absprung. Und vom heutigen Kiez – einem „Spielplatz für Idioten“. Frank Murphy's friend Kathryn Frady is today's co-host. Kathryn is headed back to Baton Rouge for her duties with Opéra Louisiane. Jody Collins will co-host the next episode of the Frank & Friends Show and Frank will appear as a guest on Jody's Ramblin' Man podcast.  Frank got AirPods for his birthday and is afraid of losing them. One pops out of his ear when he bends over while doing yard work. There is an AirPods case for sale in our merch store.  Frank missed a call from his daughter. He called back at an inopportune time because his two-year-old granddaughter was fussing. When she heard that pop-pa was on the phone, she stopped crying.  Artie Rocket usually visits during June. Next year Frank wants him to visit during August. That way he can be on a swim team in June and July and help Frank harvest figs in August.  Frank is wearing the last of the ten shirts he bought at an estate sale. The shirt belonged to Cecil Edward Mannis, father of Eddie Mannis. Most of the shirts were blue or red. One was yellow. Frank's friend Jeff Detrow made a good joke about one of the red shirts. He said a Bob Evans restaurant was missing its table cloth.  Kathryn asks if Frank ever wears black. He did when they appeared on East Tennessee PBS during pledge breaks in the Brit Floyd: Space & Time - Live in Amsterdam broadcast.  Frank and Kathryn went to a screening of Marble City Opera's production of Tosca at Central Cinema. Kathryn played the title role. Frank and Kathryn introduced each act of the opera. Kathryn took a photo of herself and Frank on the big screen.  Frank gave Kristen and Jeff Detrow a fig plant. They sent him a photo of the plant in their yard. Frank called it his “grand-fig.” Kathryn suggests that Frank set up a stand in his yard to sell fig cuttings and fresh figs.  Frank has been president of two non-profit boards. He recently turned down a request that he volunteer to be on a fund-raising committee. When he had a salaried job, it was easier to donate time to charities. Now that he is in the gig economy, he needs to get paid for his time.  Frank did agree to emcee Marble City Opera's fundraiser for free. He is on the Marble City Opera board. Kathryn jokes she is going to rewrite the by-laws to make Frank a board member for life.  Most of Frank's friends are women. Kathryn was glad that he had some male co-hosts over the past two months including Tim Coleman and Frank Rosamond. Kathryn asks if Frank will have to adjust the camera when Jody Collins is here. Jody's graphic design company is called Feral Giant.  Frank's friend Bean suggested that Frank start a spin-off podcast about figs and Kathryn agrees. You can occasionally buy fresh figs at Publix in Knoxville. Frank says many places in the Hamptons sell fresh figs. Kathryn says Frank's figs are flavorful.  Kathryn likes being able to conduct meetings on Zoom. Frank gets frustrated by people who have too much background noise and those who forget to unmute their microphone on Zoom calls.  Frank and Bean broadcast live from the top floor of the Washington Monument during Hands Across America on May 25, 1986.  Frank ran out of cherry Luden's throat drops. Miroslaw Grudzinski (66) ist seit 36 Jahren der Hot-Dog-Mann vom Kiez. Ungefähr drei Millionen Hot Dogs hat Mirek, wie er von allen genannt wird, in seinem Imbiss Danmark-Snack an der Reeperbahn schon gemacht. Dabei wollte er eigentlich Wissenschaftler werden. Mirek berichtet von den goldenen 80ern, den brutalen 90ern. Von seiner Strategie, wenn Luden in seinem Laden aufeinander losgingen. Und der einen Sache, an die er sich nie gewöhnen konnte. Von Prominenten, Asozialen und seiner Petition, die den Kiez verändern soll. Denn das ist für ihn dringend nötig. Die MOPO-Reporter Wiebke Bromberg und Marius Röer trafen den Hot-Dog-Mann in seinem bekannten Imbiss auf der Meile.

Frank's friend Sarah Roberto is filling in for Kathryn Frady. Sarah used to be the Director of Marketing for the Tennessee Valley Fair. Sarah mentioned that one of her former co-workers lives on Frank's street.  Sarah is “team no pool.” Frank is shocked but admits that swimming pools are money pits. If you're not putting water and chemicals into it, you're pulling debris and critters out of it.  Sarah's husband is a lawyer and politician. Her father-in-law is one of the scientists who discovered the element Tennessine (Symbol: Ts Atomic number: 117). Frank was excited to meet Dr. Roberto at a Super Bowl party.  Frank is mentioned in chapter 8 of the new Missy Barrett book, The Case of the Thoughtful Thief by Elyse Bruce. He will read the chapter aloud on Thursday, April 28 at 3pm in the King Family Library, 408 High Street, Sevierville, TN.  Sarah offers to “Mapquest directions” to the King Family Library. She then realizes that no one says Mapquest anymore. Frank prefers Google Maps.  Frank mentions Amazon Alexa. Sarah responds that she bought a new car with an audio assistant. Frank asks if you say Siri or Alexa. Sarah says “Mercedes, turn on my heated seats.”  Sarah has a TikTok account for her dog Baby Bear. The dog is a “CavaPoo,” which is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mixed with a poodle.  Frank remembers when Sarah had low-paying jobs for non-profit organizations and she used him as a reference for a new job. Since then, she's earned her MBA and gotten a better-paying job in the tech field.  Frank was walking along Union Avenue on his way to Scruffy City Hall to perform with Einstein Simplified. He accidentally inhaled some saliva and had to cough it out. Some people half a block away turned and gave Frank a nasty look because he had coughed.  If Frank is near someone at church who coughs, he often gives them one of his Luden's Throat Drops. In the wake of defeating an Elder Oblex, the party searches the breached tunnel for the lost mythic hero Cassius. Returning to the Fuzzy Navel Inn, plans are made regarding how to deal with Kareviss and his men, and the waking, retrieval, and smuggling of this great hero Cassius. Urimir and Luden meet Addeleine's first mate, Theyus, and in the process find an impressive getaway vehicle. Prayaria, Finnalai, Hesperis, and Samson make their way to Might's Enclave to retrieve wakers. Hesperis saves the group a LOT of trouble. We end with the return to the vaults. The ritual of waking is initiated. Does the group bring back the Legendary Lost Champion of Vera? After a night of drinking Finnalai gets a call from his mother, and Luden is paid a visit from an old shadowy friend. Samson and Urimir pull off a master scam. With a bit of a hangover the next morning, the party discusses their plan for the Vaults of Slumbering. Disagreements are had, but in the end the majority decides. They make their way to Lord Kareviss Goldlight's estate. The group plays his little game and learn something about themselves. An agreement is made and the group makes their way down into the depths of the mountain. With the aid of Luden, the group makes their way to a Sparrowhawk safehouse. Luden continues to keep his distance while Finnalai and Hesperis try to break down his walls. Hesperis tries her hand at cooking for the first time. It doesn't end well. Urimir's plate gets the best of him, and Luden. Finnalai's book reveals a lot more about Prayaria, and Samson comes to a shocking revelation. The group settles down for the evening and Samson is visited by a familiar Fey friend... only to discover another revelation. Although this time, it is much more unpleasant. The group continues their journey and arrives at Digbrand. Entering The Fuzzy Navel, they meet Belgain Vigor, one of Legacy Dwarven descent. The group then begins their quest under the Grotto Thicket, to the door of the ancients marked on Briel's map. After a small greeting to Prayaria, the group attempts this ancient door puzzle. Their successes lead them down into this ancient home that has not seen welcome guests... in thousands of years. Prayaria is overwhelmed with the ghosts of her ancestors and ancestral home as a faded memory of the past whirls around the group. Hanna Luden, directeur van het Centrum Informatie & Documentatie Israël (CIDI) en Önder Kaya over de Turks-joodse betrekkingen, de Israëlische politiek en een mogelijke tweetstatenoplossing. De betrekkingen tussen Israël en Turkije zijn de laatste jaren op politiek vlak veranderd. Sinds het incident met het humanitaire scheepskonvooi voor Gaza in 2010, waarbij negen Turkse activisten het leven lieten, leven de regeringsleiders van beide landen op gespannen voet. Tegelijkertijd blijft er veel culturele kruisbestuiving tussen de volkeren van de twee landen bestaan. Israëliërs zijn steeds vaker verknocht aan Turkse televisieseries, terwijl burgers van de twee landen elkaars toeristische bestemmingen blijven bezoeken. Er zijn verschillende periodes van joodse migratie naar Turkije te noemen. Zo zijn sefardische joden na het Verdrijvingsedict van 1492 en de algehele Inquisitie in Spanje en Portugal geëmigreerd naar niet alleen de Nederlanden en Marokko (Maghreb), maar ook naar de voorganger van Turkije, het Ottomaanse rijk. In latere eeuwen zijn sefardische joden, maar ook ashkenazi- en andere joden doorgereisd naar Ottomaans grondgebied, omdat ze daar tegen een hoofdelijke belasting in vrijheid konden leven en zich bij gildes konden voegen, ambachten konden uitoefenen en handel konden drijven. Tegenwoordig is de Turkse invloed op de joodse gewoonten tot in het joodse staatsrecht zichtbaar. Sefardische joden leven al sinds de 16e eeuw in Nederlanden; zo ook in het latere en tegenwoordige Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. De populatie Nederlandse joden die met de Holocaust drastisch afnam, is in de 20ste eeuw moeizaam hersteld. Önder Kaya vraagt Hanna Luden naar hoe joden tegenwoordig naar Nederland kijken en met welke redenen ze Nederland bezoeken. Kaya vroeg Luden ook over de invloed van verschuivende demografische omstandigheden in Israël en hoe dit zijn weerslag heeft op het Israëlische leven van alledag en de Israëlische politiek. Ook worden rechtse politici als Netanyahu, Erdogan en Poetin met elkaar vergeleken. Is Netanyahu de laatste jaren rechtser geworden? En hoe moeten we Benjamin Gantz zien, Netanyahu’s grote politieke uitdager. En wat is het met de mogelijke exit van Netanyahu, die verwikkeld is in corruptieschandalen, het perspectief op een tweestatenoplossing? Wat is het effect van Trump’s keuze geweest om Jeruzalem als hoofdstad van Israel te erkennen? Heeft hij bijvoorbeeld Erdogan, die zich opwerpt als de leider van de islamitische wereld, daar sterker op gemaakt? Dit en meer passeert de revue in een boeiend gesprek van een klein uur.
