Before we look at Psalm 106 today, I wanted to share with you that I'm in Roanoke Virginia this morning to participate in a memorial service for a dear friend, Don Parker. Please be in prayer for his dear wife, Jane Parker and all the family and friends as they celebrate his life and his faith that touched so many of us! Don loved the Lord and his wife and family faithfully over the many years. Don was not a “upfront” sort of person, but you could count on him to be faithful and loyal! I'm convinced that I'm probably alive today because of Don's willingness to help me any time I ask, especially to cut down large trees on my property over the years. He was the expert that could tell me exactly how a tree would fall and the best way to do the cut. I am convinced that he could sharpen the chain saw blades faster and better than anyone else in the world! Don has been a dear loyal friend to me over these past 27 plus years and he will be greatly missed by all. But we are also assured of his salvation through Jesus Christ by his life of faith and testimony and we know we will see him again in heaven one day! Now in Psalm 106, if you want to get the full story of the history that we find there, I would encourage you to read and study the Old Testament books of Exodus and Numbers. If you want to know and understand the spiritual applications of this chapter, I would encourage you to read and study the New Testament book of Hebrews, especially chapters three and four. Another passage in the New Testament that also uses this history and how we can apply it to our lives in dealing with the temptation to be disobedient is 1 Corinthians 10:1-13. By the way, the very first verse in the Bible that I memorized is 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, ..." In this passage we are also told that “Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." (1 Corinthians 10:6-7). Today we are looking at the verses in Psalm 106:28-33. These two events recorded in this passage occurred toward the end of Israel's march through the wilderness, and both of them illustrate the high cost of willful disobedience to the Lord. The failure at Baal Peor is described in Numbers 25, but read Numbers 22-24 to get the background. The king of Moab hired the prophet Baalam to curse the nation of Israel, but God turned his curses into blessings (Deut. 23:5; Neh. 13:2; see Psalm 109:28). But Baalam knew how to trap Israel: he suggested that the king act like a good neighbor and invite the Jewish tribal leaders to share a feast with the Moabites. This would be a religious feast, of course, which meant eating meat dedicated to demons and dead people and cohabiting with cult prostitutes. Once more, the people of God yielded to their fleshly desires and tasted the wrath of God, and 24,000 people died (Num. 25:9). The plague would have claimed more lives, but Phinehas, the son of the high priest, killed a Jewish man and his Moabite partner as they arrogantly sinned in the camp of Israel. Remember that the "The wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23). The second demonstration of carnality was seen in Moses, not a sin of the flesh but of the spirit: he became proud and angry and took for himself the glory that belonged only to the Lord (Num. 20:1-13). Provoked by the people, the "pride of life" possessed Moses and he lost his temper and spoke rash words that offended the Lord (Psalm 78:40; Isa. 63:10; 1 John 2:15-17). This sin cost Moses the privilege of leading the people into the Promised Land (Deut. 3:23-29). Even today, our disobedience to the known will of God will always be very costly to us and to those around us! God bless!

Join us for our Erev Shabbat service we will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. This week's teaching will cover a double portion. First, Matot - This portion, while entitled “Tribes,” explains the law of vows. It then shifts to the subject of tribes when Moses is directed to assemble 1,000 soldiers from each tribe, forming an army of 12,000 to destroy the five Midianite kings who followed the counsel of Baalam. In the end, the 12,000 men return, having destroyed the five Midianite kings and Baalam. Here is the amazing part: none of the 12,000 died. They all returned from the battlefield alive. The portion concludes with Reuben and Gad requesting the grazing lands east of the Jordan for their herds and inheritance. Moses agrees on the condition that they pledge to support the conquest of the promised land for the other tribes. Next, Massei - "Massei" (Stages) begins with a systematic listing of the children of Israel's journeys ("stages") in the wilderness. There are 42 specific places listed beginning with Sukkot, which was still in Egypt. The sages of Israel have been intrigued with this listing, since God commanded Moses to record them. Of what value are they to us who study Torah? These are not known locations found on a map, but instead they are campsites to which Israel wandered for forty years. Each location name describes an event as opposed to the name of a place. Their true value is yet future, being prophetic stages that tribulation saints will go through. This Torah portion provides instructions for apportioning the promised land. In particular, the land of Israel was to have 42 cities, with six cities of refuge (three on either side of the Jordan river). Following those matters, this portion addresses the issue of the “man-slayer” and the “blood avenger.” Finally, the book of Numbers concludes with issues of inheritance. Join us for our Erev Shabbat service we will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. This portion tells us the story of Phinehas (Pinchas), the grandson of Aaron (Aharon), when he took direct action against an Israelite who had joined with a Midianite woman. As background, Baalam was unsuccessful in cursing Israel, so we learn from Numbers 31:16 that he counseled the Midianites to send their sons and daughters to the Israelites to have them join together, leading them astray from Moses' teaching. Zimri, the Simeonite, was a product of Baalam's counsel. God had begun to judge Israel with a plague, just as Baalam had said, but Phinehas's action stopped the whole process and brought deliverance to Israel. The remainder of this portion addresses the final census of Israel, the death of Moses, and the final efforts to enter the promised land. In particular, this portion details the offerings for each day in keeping the Feast of Tabernacles. Join us for our Erev Shabbat service we will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. This week's teaching will cover a double portion. First, Chukat - “Chukat” (Ordinance of) talks of the mysterious rite of the Red Heifer. This particular sacrifice is burned outside the camp. Its ashes are then sprinkled in water to make the “waters of purification.” If a person would become defiled by coming in contact with a dead person or animal, he would have to be cleansed from this defilement by being sprinkled with the waters of purification. Then he would be able to go to the temple again. A large amount of ash was produced by the sacrifice, but it was distributed extensively to all villages for use by the tribes. When a new sacrifice took place, a portion of the original ashes would be used in every new sacrifice, thus every sacrifice and resulting generation would have ash from the original sacrifice of Moses and Aaron. This portion also addresses the issue of Moses striking the Rock instead of teaching the children of Israel to “speak to the Rock.” Consequently, Moses was guilty of not believing the LORD and was kept from entering the promised land himself. Next, Balak - This portion speaks of the Moabite king Balak, who hired the prophet Baalam to curse the children of Israel so that Israel would not conquer his kingdom. Despite his initial resistance, Baalam agreed and came to Balak, setting up three locations to curse Israel. Instead, all he could speak were blessings. These blessings (from an enemy) are some of the most powerful blessings ever spoken upon Israel. In fact, most synagogue services begin with the words “How good and lovely are your tents O Jacob, your tabernacles O Israel...” We learn in a later parashah that Baalam counseled the Moabites and Midianites to send their daughters to Israel to draw them away from the teaching of Moses and invite them to their pagan festivals, with the intent that God would reject Israel and remove His protection of them, causing them to fall prey to their enemies. Numbers: Baalam prophecies for Balak the word of God blessing Israel repeatedly. Unable to defeat Israel through God instead Baalam recommends they be led to sin against their God by bowing down to the gods of Peor. Due to their sin a plague breaks out among the Israelites and is stopped by an act of Phinehas. Mark: Jesus' resurrection is discovered at the empty tomb, He's seen by others and He meets with the disciples, where He gives the great commission and finally many days later was received up into heaven.
Numbers: Miriam's death. The people complain, Moses strikes a rock and Aaron dies. A bronze serpent is lifted to heal the Israelites. Israel has victory over two cities and Balak, summons Baalam to curse the Israelites where an angel intercedes using a donkey. James: Jesus' takes all the sins of the world upon Himself on the cross and dies. Joseph of Arimathea anoints His body and buries Him in his own tomb.
Numbers 22-23. Bible study on November 30th at United Baptist Church.
In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2:2-3) For the next while, we're going to be camped out in the book of Isaiah. Many Old Testament books hold inklings of the way God would eventually complete his work of redemption through Jesus, but none so thoroughly throughout as the book of Isaiah. So many bits and pieces of this book build bridges into the New Testament and give shape to the New Testament authors' understanding of Jesus—even of Jesus' own self-understanding when he begins speaking of his mission in the Gospel of Luke. Isaiah is a great place to marinate our Christian imagination in the season of Advent as we train our desires on Jesus. Geography and topography play a significant role in Isaiah. The mountain of the Lord rises, rough places are made smooth, streams appear in the desert. All of these pictures of the physical world changing in particular ways and in particular places carry forward the poetic message of the prophet. Not so different from Baalam seeing the ruler and star rising from Judah, Isaiah sees the mountain of the Lord's temple rising, exalted above all other hills and mountains, drawing all nations to Jerusalem. To a people who will soon go into exile, Isaiah writes a message of hope that declares a radically different word than the proclamation of death that will come elsewhere across these pages. “In the last days” God will bring all his promises to fulfillment, even if now for a moment things seem bleak and hopeless. Even though the temple of Jerusalem will be broken down in days of war and conquest—it will not always be so. God himself will rebuild and raise his temple to a place of prominence throughout the world. It reminds me of Jesus' words in John 12 from a sermon a few weeks back—he said “when I am lifted up, I will draw all people to myself.” Jesus himself becomes the new temple—the new place where heaven and earth meet—the temple that was torn down and rebuilt in three days through his death and resurrection. When this temple is lifted up, the nations come streaming in. The Spirit goes out into the world carrying the word of the Lord through women and men from all nations who have been redeemed and sent by Jesus—they themselves being temples of the Holy Spirit. In this way, through the church and its members like you and me, the ways of Jesus are taught and lived throughout the world. These are those last days. Right now in you and me through the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus, this prophecy is fulfilled. What a glorious vision! And yet we know it's still not yet complete, not in fullness. So while we work we also wait: Come Lord Jesus, come.
When you think about the miracles in the book of Jonah, your mind may immediately go to the great fish and Jonah being kept alive in its belly for three days and three nights before being spit out on the beach. That is a powerful miracle, but we see several others that show up in the story prior to that. It's a Miracle that God spoke to Jonah It's a miracle that God spoke to Jonah. That certainly can't be explained by natural or scientific laws. It's a miracle that God would want to speak to us and that he invites us to communicate with him. I think for those of us who grew up in the church and grew up reading our Bible, we can sometimes take for granted that God speaks to us. It is a miracle every time God speaks. God spoke the world into existence. When God says something, it happens. Isaiah 55:11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. It's a Miracle that God Controlled the Storm This storm that Jonah found himself in wasn't just bad timing. It was no coincidence. We read in Jonah chapter 1 that God hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm. God's control over the weather and over the sea is amazing to us, but it carried even more power and symbolism in Jonah's day. In many pagan religions of the time, the sea was synonymous with chaos. There was this close connection between the sea being chaotic and untamable, but it's not untamable to God. Job 38:8-11 Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness? For I locked it behind barreled gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop.' It's a Miracle God provided the fish Jonah 1:17 says, “ The Lord had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah.” We also see God use the worm in chapter 4 to eat the gourd that had been providing shade to Jonah. We see the full spectrum of animals here; from a tiny worm to a huge fish. All of the animal kingdom, from the least to the greatest is subject to God's authority. We actually see God using animals throughout scripture. He caused a ram to be caught by its horns in a thicket so that Abraham could use it in place of Isaac. He used Baalam's donkey to keep him from going and cursing the Israelites. He brought in flocks of quail to feed the people in the desert. In the New Testament, he used a fish with two coins in its mouth to pay the temple tax. These are just more examples of God's sovereignty over all creation. God reminds us in the book of Job about his authority over the animal kingdom. It's a miracle that the fish couldn't contain Jonah Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, but then at God's command, the fish spit him out. If you're skeptical and think, “There's no way that could happen.”, you might be right under normal circumstances. But Jonah is a story about the God of miracles. And keeping Jonah alive in the belly of the fish, or resuscitating him, would be an easy feat for the God who spoke the world into existence, controlled the seas and storm, and controlled the animals. The grave couldn't contain Jesus Matthew 12:39-40 39 But Jesus replied, “Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign; but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pursuegod/support

What happens when God tries to speak to or warn someone, and they refuse to hear you? God will speak to them using sign language. In other words, God will send a sign to get their attention to stop before it's too late. In Numbers 22 God caused a donkey to perceive what the Prophet could not see. See how the natural world resists the foolhardy course of rebellious man towards the judgment from his Creator's judgment. 1 - They are in the world, but not of it. 2 - They can be scrutinized, but they are secured by the word of God. 3 - They are an oasis in the midst of a wilderness.
They are like an oasis in the wilderness by the Lord, not an empty waste. Coming out of Egypt as slaves, they have great strength. As the gift of the Holy Spirit. Oasis in the midst of wilderness.
Did you know that Peter said there was one thing we must remember and be able to recall at anytime after Peter's death? This one thing is how we guarantee entrance into the kingdom of heaven. It seems fitting that this is the one thing we are to always remember. What could be more important than this? Yet, most people have never heard this the message Peter says we must always remember. He first tells us we must become partakers of God's divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world by lust. After this he says we are to now live in the qualities of this faith and the divine nature that we now posses. If we continue to practice these things, we are told we will never stumble and in this way will enter into the eternal kingdom. We are then warned about false teachers and prophets who teach blasphemes and heresies. We are not initially told specifically what they are, but God's word tells us what is true. The truth is God knows how to rescue the godly from temptation and to keep the unrighteousness under punishment for the day of judgement. He gives 3 specific examples to explain this statement.God then talks about those who deceive with false words and uses the example of Balaam. Many people don't know that Baalam believed in God and obeyed God outwardly. The problem is God looks at the heart. So even though Baalam obeyed the voice of God outwardly, God was against him because of his inward desires that are revealed in 2 Peter ch 2. We also look as the example referenced in Numbers ch 22.We review what happens to heaven and earth at the end of the age (destroyed with fire), the application of the thief in the night, and the fact Jesus's will come back to gather the saints at the end of the tribulation when he destroys the man of lawlessness (AntiChrist) at his appearing in 2 Thes ch 2.We are left with the final instructions in chapter 3. A command to be diligent to be found by the Lord in peace, spotless, and blameless. A warning to be on our guard against the false teachings by those who distort the scripture.
The story of Balaam is a fantastic tale complete with conversations with God, angels with swords drawn, a seemingly stubborn talking donkey, and a seerer's blessings and curses. What if anything can we learn from this story about our relationships to God and to one another? In this episode, Liam takes a look at the ways in which we are conditioned to read biblical texts and asks questions about what it means to miss the angel standing in the road, as well as what it means to be a person who beats the truth-tellers among us. More, Liam asks what might it mean to be the talking, truth-telling ass - and to be repeatedly beaten-up for speaking out. After some discussion, Don offers another text for our reflection. Intro: The Need for Silence and Solitude What is God saying to you right now? Do you know? What is He trying to show you about HIMself? What is He trying to show you about YOURself? God is speaking but the problem is we don’t always listen. Now, it is true that God could intervene with Baalam’s donkey or come in a bright vision like he did for Paul. No one could ignore that. God does indeed do that at times. However, on the day-to-day, he is speaking and revealing. The problem is, I can’t always hear him. And possibly the reason I can’t always hear him is the greater problem that sometimes I DON’T WANT TO HEAR HIM. When it comes to truly connecting with God on a relational level, I believe this is the hardest time in history to be a Christian. Certainly there have been harder times with persecution and lack of Bibles and so forth. But we are more distracted, and deaf than ever before with our urban jungles and technological advances. We are always, “on.” We’ve got these super computers attached at our hip and it has hurt us in so many ways. In the past, for most occupations, when you left work, you could leave work. • Now, you can work in bed. • You can work at the dinner table. • You can even work on the toilet. Everyone is busy these days and it’s NOT slowing down! With all this busyness we aren’t able to keep up with what’s going on under the hood. You see, busyness doesn’t just affect our schedules but it eventually starts messing with our souls. One result of this over-busyness, over-hurriedness, and over-distraction is chronic anxiety, A few years ago, the APA surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults about their sources and levels of anxiety, and found that 39% reported being more anxious than they were at this time last year. Approximately 40 million American adults — roughly 18% of the population — have an anxiety disorder, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. Check out this line from an article from Business Insider, “It sometimes seems as if our phones function like an extra limb on our bodies. Now, research demonstrates exactly how attached to the devices we really are. The typical cellphone user touches his or her phone 2,617 time every day, according to a study by research firm Dscout. But that's just the average user: The study found that extreme cellphone users — meaning the top 10% — touch their phones more than 5,400 times daily.” What are we running from with this excessive use of our phones? So many of us are walking around with a low-grade sense of guilt and anxiety that we’re not getting done what we gotta do and we never feel rested enough. Many are angry and anxious but we don’t know why. What if there was a practice, a rhythm that God has gifted us that would help in all these areas and more? The great news is that he has! It is called, Silence and solitude. This is an ancient practice that Christians throughout millenia have been practicing and it has NEVER been more important. You may wonder, “Why talk about this in a series about Life Together?” Well, one of the keys to be with others in a healthy way is to be alone in a healthy way. To be with others, you must first be alone. Disengage from community to engage with community. The tragic reality is that most people do not know how to be alone with the Father. • Alone with their thoughts. • Their fears. • Their inner demons. • Their shame. • Their doubts. Thus, we can be tempted to do what Bonhoffer says, Those who take refuge in community while fleeing from themselves are misusing it to indulge in empty talk and distraction, no matter how spiritual it may appear. In reality, they are not seeking community at all, but only a thrill that will allow them to forget their isolation for a short time. That is why he also says, Whoever cannot be alone, should beware of community. -Bonhoeffer If we cannot be alone with the Father, we will ultimately turn community into God and abuse it and ourselves while we’re at it. › Let’s look at the life of Jesus to understand how to connect more deeply with the Father with silence and solitude. But since that term can be loaded for some and confusing for many, you will hear me coin another term. Jesus’ Pattern Luke 4:1–2 ESV 1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. At the beginning on Jesus’ ministry before we know of any miracles performed or disciples made, Jesus is led by the Spirit to the wilderness. This word, Eremos is also translated, “Desolate place” or deserted place. He goes to the Eremos for many reasons that are significant like being the truer and better Israel who triumphed in the wilderness under temptation unlike the Israelites. But one point to highlight for the purposes of this sermon is that Jesus went to be alone. And if you look at all the passages it is pretty clear Jesus was praying with His Father during this time. We will see Jesus return to get alone with the Father in the Eremos over and over and over. Before you begin any endeavour, retreat with the Father into the Eremos. Luke 4:42–44 ESV 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them, 43 but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” 44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea. The context here is that Jesus has been healing and casting out demons ALL NIGHT! What would you do if you were up all night serving extremely desperate people? Instead of sleeping he gets alone with the Father in the Eremos until people found him. When you are exhausted retreat with the Father into the Eremos. Look what the people want him to do? They want him to stay and would keep him from leaving. But what happens in the Eremos? You get clarity on your purpose. The people want him to stay but he knows not to bend to the expectations na desires of the people right now because he is on a mission. Too often we impulsively say yes or give-in into other’s expectations because we lack clarity on our purpose. When you lack clarity about your purpose retreat with the Father into the Eremos. › Shortly after, Jesus cleanses a leper, which was incurable and word spreads, Luke 5:15–16 ESV 15 But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. 16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. This would is significant. It doesn’t say, “Jesus withdrew” but he “would” which implies that its a continual action. Most other translations make it a little more explicit but you would catch it if you read carefully enough in your ESV. Luke 5:16 NASB95 16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. Luke 5:16 The Message 16 As often as possible Jesus withdrew to out-of-the-way places for prayer. I know we are all busy. But there is a difference between busyness because you’ve committed to a lot of activities vs. busyness because a lot of people have demands upon you. Jesus is in a season of ministry where great crowds of people are hunting him down and desperately trying to get him to heal them. But instead of caving into the desires of others and sacrificing his own relationship with God, he intentionally makes time to be with his father. And the only way to do this is to retreat to the Eremos, We see this in Mark as well in a parallel passage, Mark 1:35 ESV 35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. Jesus doesn’t just let quiet alone time come to him accidentally. He wakes up before others, removes himself from them to be with God. In our modern age, quiet time is rarely discovered but has to be created. In fact, the attention economy is worth billions. Companies are competing with each other on who can distract and keep your attention longer than others. The very goal behind Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter is, “How can we keep this use on as long as possible?” So like Jesus we must MAKE time. Jesus is on an important mission but he knows that mission is compromised if he doesn’t prioritize time alone with the Father. Please note that Jesus is not retreating as an end to itself. He’s not doing Proverbs 18:1 Proverbs 18:1 ESV 1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. Jesus is not isolating himself. He’s not seeking his OWN desire, but the FATHER’S! He’s retreating into solitude, into the Eremos in order to be with the father. In order to pray! Solitude is not the same as isolating. Mark 1:36 feels relatable in someways, Mark 1:36–37 ESV 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” Instead of disciples coming for you, I think our modern equivalent is texts or emails. Or children. So when Jesus’ popularity increases and incredible needs are thrown upon him, he retreats to be alone with the Father in the Eremos. As a pastor, I honestly could meet with someone almost every hour of the waking day. If I am not careful, with my responsibilities at home, work, and life in general, I could live my life reactively putting out fires, trying to meet people’s needs and expectations, and running myself to the ground. Indeed, I’m a servant. As a Christian we are called to pour out our lives for others and its painful and costly. However, we also need clarity on who and when we are to serve. As Jesus said, “The poor you will always have with you.” Until Jesus returns and makes all things right, there is no end to the demands upon our life. And if we are not getting clarity, strength, and purpose in the Eremos, we will be living an ineffective life that will burn out. When demands upon you increase, retreat with the Father into the Eremos. Luke 6:12–13 ESV 12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. 13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles: The passage does not say, “eremos” but its the same idea here. He went alone to pray on a mountain, all night. The result being that he knew who should be his 12 apostles. When you need to make a significant decision, retreat with the Father into the Eremos. Luke 9:18 ESV 18 Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” Note, praying ALONE Luke 11:1 ESV 1 Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” Notice, he is praying in a certain PLACE. Final one to highlight, Luke 22:39–42 ESV 39 And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. 40 And when he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 41 And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” In the last hours of his life, as Jesus knew he would be deserted by his disciples, betrayed by one his friends, betrayed by one of his closest friends, be tortured like a criminal and ultimately suffer an unimaginable execution, he retreats alone with the Father. When you know you are about to go through a nightmare or you are in it, retreat to be with the Father in the Eremos. Don’t click, swipe, binge Netflix or binge food or substances, busy yourself with work, distract yourself with company, GET ALONE and BE WITH GOD! ____ The patter on Jesus is clear: • Jesus would intentionally physically retreat to be alone in the Eremos. • Jesus had to go out of his way to accomplish this task. • He went alone in order to pray and be with the Father. Jesus also had longer portions like going to the wilderness to be tempted for 40 days but also had daily retreats. Overall, Jesus spent more time with others than alone. And Jesus did all of this in a context of incredible demand and potential distraction. The Goals for the Eremos The first goal is to engage with God Its a temporary disengaging of the world, so you can deeply engage with God. The second goal is to be able to engage with others. You disengage with others so that you can ultimately better love and serve others. For those who connect with military terms, its a tactical retreat in order to go back into the battle. David Mathis says this well, “We want to come back better–not only rested, but more ready to love and sacrifice. We want to find new clarity, resolve, and initiative, or return primed to redouble our efforts by faith, in our callings in the home, among friends, at work, and in the body of Christ.” The How of the Eremos • Sacred Time • Sacred Place • Sacred Plan Sacred Time As we know for important relationships in our lives, if time is not scheduled, intentional time won’t consistently happen. Any relationship we cherish has lots of time invested into it. Same with our relationship with our Father. If it’s not scheduled, it usually won’t happen. And if you wait till you need it, its often too late. Thus we need to schedule sacred time for the Eremos in our schedules and hold on to them for dear life! For a vibrant life in Christ I recommend: • Daily time • Weekly time • twice a year or even quarterly. Each being longer. Daily time being your daily retreat to be with God. Not be with God with others. Or be with God while you are doing other things. But just you and God. Weekly time being an extended time where you are with God and able to go deeper. Unhurried being a key word. Quarterly or twice a year where you spend a whole day or a few days camping, or at a retreat center, or hotel. You can get creative and even work with your spouse to take shifts. › You need not just a time but also a sacred place Sacred Place Remember Jesus physically removed himself to be alone where he would not be interrupted into the Eremos. I once had 8 roommates so it was hard to find a private place. I did a few things, I had to go on long walks, or the park, or hike on a mountain in California. IF you think your too busy and have too many responsibilities, listen to this testimony. Susanna Wesley had 19 children and still found time to pray. You may never have heard of her, but you may have heard of two of her sons - John and Charles Wesley, two men who have impacted millions of lives for Jesus. Among the noise and activity of her many children, Susanna's trick was to pull her apron over her head - signaling to them and anyone else around that she was in prayer and not to be disturbed. What is or will be your Eremos? Find a daily place, a weekly place, and a yearly place to be alone with God. › Finally, you need a sacred plan, Sacred Plan If you are new to all of this, it’s helpful to go into Eremos with a rough plan. Sheets in the auditorium but we will email it out as well. These are tips and a general guidelines. You will never go through all of this sheet but it gives you categories of what to do when you are in the Eremos. There are two sets of questions worth asking I wanted to highlight and explain: Questions to Ask yourself during prayer and journaling: · What is God trying to say to me? · Is there anything I’m repressing or ignoring? o What am I afraid, anxious or angry about? · What am I believing about myself? · What does God say to all of this? If a Painful Event has happened considering asking these questions: 1. What happened? 2. What am I feeling? 3. What is the story I’m telling myself? 4. What does the Father say? 5. What is the counter-instinctual act that is required? *Adapted from Rich Villodas Let me share an example about a situation years back in an organization where I was overlooked for a position I was expecting. › You can also preemptively ask these questions with hypotheticals if you know something hard is coming up. You may think to yourself, “this seems like a lot of work!” It is! That is why healthy souls are so rare. It takes work to tend your heart. The natural tendencies is to just go with the flow. Which means you will go with your impulses or lies and let that dictate your life. Some Keys to Success Be REAL When you are not yourself and honest with who you are, God cannot relate with you. When you confess where you truly are is when God can start to work. If you confess to Him that you want to do something else then, and only then, can you start to actually commune with god. Because the REAL you showed up. God is secure enough to handle your honesty. Pour out before you leak out If you have stuff bottled up, pour it out before him. Often times, we will leak out or even explode out onto others because we are filled with anxiety, hurt, fear, etc. Psalm 62:8 ESV 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Spend the early moments giving the Father everyone and everything. Exercise: Father, I give to you everyone and everything The Pause App can be helpful tool to train you Set Realistic Expectations When people start off learning how to pray or have times of solitude, they can often be discouraged by how hard it can be. We stumble with words, we don’t know what we ought to say. We are distracted and bored. We have trouble understanding God. But isn’t this how it is with any relationship? Any great conversational relationship you have takes lots of intentional time and practice before your communication becomes fluent. There’s no one I have spent more intentional time with than Joanna. And yet, were almost at 10 years of marriage and we still miss each other. But our conversations are so much more fluid and lively now because of all the years of practice. Don’t put pressure on your relationship with God that would be completely unreasonable in any other relationship. Every time will not be life-changing and dynamic. But overtime, we will grow in intimacy together and we will have our seasons and moments of intense deep encounter. Same with our relationship with our Father. We put so much pressure on our time with God that we get deeply discouraged when we don’t have a deep encounter. Sometimes it will be life-changing, sometimes it will feel mediocre. Think of it like eating meals. Don’t overly pressure each time to change everything. Health comes from a regular practice. If you never practice solitude then the initial stage will be very challenging. This is the case for any new habit in our lives. If you’ve neglected your soul, be prepared for a lot of junk to be exposed. Be prepared for unusual amount of distractions and temptations. Imagine Imagine what it would be like if our community was filled with people who knew how to be alone with the Father? What anxieties would be relieved? What wounds would be healed? What relationships would be restored? It is only when you have poured out and filled up with the Father that you can receive and give to others. We complain and gripe and fellowship with everyone but God. Too many of us try to make the community be what only the Father can be. When we do this, they will fail us because they can never replace God. And we will often become disoriented and cynical as our expectations are not met over and over. If we are regularly being alone with the Father, we will be able to meaningfully be with others. In order for us to be together, we need to be alone first. I know that many of you agree with this teaching but will NOT make an effort to put it into practice. It is so hard to do in our culture and the deck is stacked against you. So PLEAD with you, put this to practice. We NEED THIS! Ask for help with your community to put it into practice. GOOD NEWS: The Father Wants to Be with You The greatest news about this sermon is that God wants to be with you. I’m sharing all of this in order for us to be with God. We’re not talking about all of this with the hopes that God will reciprocate our efforts or maybe take an interest in us. He’s made every effort possible to be with us. He gave his only son to separate the chasm between us and the Father. Jesus took the wrath and punishment we deserved for our sins and rebellion so that we can be reconciled. Jesus had a moment of terrible separation from his Father so that we could have a lifetime and eternity of communion with him. - Pastor Ross If you don’t have peace with the Father through Jesus, you can. The focus for todays message deals with a man's search for his identity. Ultimately man's search for his identity is found in the House of the Lord. The reality becomes the more you want for it (identity) the more you will find yourself in the House of the Lord. Listen and do what God says and be blessed. One of the keys of success is knowing you're in the presence of God in your decision making Today Pastor Kevin has another timely message about Balaam. In Numbers 22-25 Baalam wasn't a false prophet because he prophesied inaccurately, because he was *very* accurate. He was false because he went his own way and not in Gods's plan, presence and purpose. 2Peter2:16 talks about the “Way of Balaam”.
The supernatural is not optional equipment for the New Testament church! We struggle with this because we feel inadequate. Let’s get over ourselves. In the scripture, Jesus convicted Simon Peter with a rooster, had an ass speak to the prophet Baalam, and rode triumphantly into Jerusalem on an ass. Guess what, in the realm of the supernatural - Jesus is still riding on donkeys. Let’s get out of our comfort zone and kick the tires on everything God has for the New Testament church!

Some say that pornography is a harmless and victimless behavior. So it seems! Some say that in a covenant of marriage, it simply can add spice, excitement and enhancement to people who love YAH. Some say Scripture does not forbid it, so neither should believers. Some say that pornography is not found in Scripture! Some say that YAH has no opinion on the subject. Some say that it is not listed as one of those behaviors that can prevent a person from entering the New Jerusalem! Now let's dig a little and get the final Word on the matter! Oh and by the way, the Golden Calf incident and the Baalam incident, are all recorded as acts of PORNOGRAPHY against Messiah! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mj-koniuchowsky/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mj-koniuchowsky/support
They Curse Themselves David Eells 8/23/20 (audio) Communist/Muslim Witchcraft Thwarted by Prayer for Trump Claire Pienaar 8/22/20 (David’s notes in red) We prayed for President Trump last night, for his protection and his family’s protection. I had just closed my eyes when I had this super quick but powerful vision: I was in a black auditorium, with many many people all dressed in black robes. I was watching a stage, and the backdrop of the stage was a fire-burning sign of a sickle (like many communist/muslim countries) with a sword going through it. I saw some people on the stage, and they were walking in a half-circle, like they were just beginning a ritual. (Witchcraft) I saw a very well-known political woman in that half-circle. (Speaking of the sickle in communist/muslim countries: The sickle is actually a crescent moon in muslim countries and is on their flags. It originally represented the moon god represented in scripture as enemies of God’s people thousands of years before Islam. Communism and Islam are very similar in many ways. They both bring the people into much bondage through deception. Both are anti-christ and ant-Christianity. Both have joined together to make war against this political revival in America through the Trump Administration, I was standing on the left of the stage, mid-way towards the front of the auditorium and I had a white veil on from head to toe and I think it made me invisible. But they realised I was there. I am not sure whether they saw me, heard me or smelled me, but their senses were heightened and they turned directly towards me and the well-known woman was HRC and said “get her”. (This leftist faction in the government and in the “Church" have been attempting through witchcraft to curse the righteous but will fail as their curses come upon themselves as we will see God’s Word says. The witches world wide have gathered at least 3 times to curse Trump but only gave him favor from God. And this is a parallel with the Man-child and the witches against them.) And then I woke up tasting metal. (This vision seemed to last mere seconds). I calmed myself by singing scripture to myself to get to sleep. But this morning I remembered everything and told Riaan. Within seconds he found this: The Sword and the Sickle is a novel by Mulk Raj Anand first published in 1942. Like his other novels, this one also deals with the topic of social and political structures, specifically, the rise of Communism. The title for the book was given to Anand by George Orwell. The novel was in keeping with British and American writings of the time. The book was the final part of the trilogy that included The Village and Across the Black Waters. The symbols that were on fire show us that the socialists/communists/fighters are all part of the same spiritual enemy force. Essentially, there’s only 1 enemy. And he's defeated through faithful and faith filled prayer! Amen! I asked the Lord for a word by faith at random, and received the following: Mark 7:32-35, with my finger on “fingers” and “tongue”: “And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to lay his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain." I think the verses are showing me that we have the “tongue of Christ” to speak the Word of God, and to use it as a sword (hence the metallic taste in my mouth). (And the tongue of the righteous will conquer their enemies.) Let’s continue to pray for Trump (and the Man-child parallel) – it’s driving the dark side crazy! Glory to God! The Curse on the Factious David Eells Both factions, in government and Church, should pay attention to this but they wont. Pro 26:2 As the sparrow in her wandering, as the swallow in her flying, So the curse that is causeless alighteth not. Gal 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Gen 12:3 and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. — God said this to me when an enemy cursed me to my young son on the street in front of our house . I saw them speaking but I didnt know what it was about. His father died on that very spot the next day. Balak, king of Moab, the leader of the faction against their brethren, the chosen people, said: Num 22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. But every time Baalam opened his mouth he blessed the chosen. Num 23:8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? And how shall I defy, whom Jehovah hath not defied? 9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him: Lo, it is a people that dwelleth alone, And shall not be reckoned among the nations. 10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, And let my last end be like his! 11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether. 20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he hath blessed, and I cannot reverse it. 21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob; Neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: Jehovah his God is with him, And the shout of a king is among them. The Leader of the faction failed to Curse the chosen so he tried again and failed… Num 23:27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come now, I will take thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence. Balaam could not curse them but he did bless them. Num 23:8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? And how shall I defy, whom Jehovah hath not defied? Num 24:8 God bringeth him forth out of Egypt; He hath as it were the strength of the wild-ox: He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, And shall break their bones in pieces, And smite them through with his arrows. 9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be every one that blesseth thee, And cursed be every one that curseth thee. (The faction curse themselves and everyone can see it in Church and government) 10 And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times. ( A number of the faction against us was led by their leader to try to curse a sister to death. He sent a fornicating medium from among them to try to release this curse on the sister but instead what happened was a miracle of healing of her blood and she became much more healthy. The nurses gathered around her declaring that only God could do that. And that she should be dead.) Jdg 8:31-9:20 And his (Gideon’s) concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, and he called his name Abimelech. (Notice: He was of the faction not of the Bride) … 34 And the children of Israel remembered not Jehovah their God, who had delivered them out of the hand of all their enemies on every side; 35 neither showed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had showed unto Israel. (We all served them well but they turned Judas against us when it was them who turned to the most vile sin. Pro 17:13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, Evil shall not depart from his house.). 9:1 And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and spake with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying, (Notice: The head of the faction went to those who were brethren of the concubine, not the Bride for they would not listen. So he spoke the faction and they gullibly received it to their own death.) 2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are threescore and ten persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh. (Notice he did not consider himself one of the sons of the Man-child body. ) 3 And his mother's brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother. (The joined the faction) 4 And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver (just like Judas) out of the house of Baal-berith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light fellows, who followed him. (Like those men who lied about Jesus) 5 And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone (The factious leader killed his own brethren with slander): but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. (Just like Jesus the man-child hid from Herod) 6 And all the men of Shechem assembled themselves together, and all the house of Millo, and went and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar that was in Shechem. (King of the faction that only they recognized. They make the unordained the ordained.) 7 And when they told it to Jotham (Type of the Man-child who escaped Herod), he went and stood on the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you. 8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive-tree, Reign thou over us. (They before had asked Gideon the Man-child to reign but he refused.) 9 But the olive-tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honor God and man, and go to wave to and fro over the trees? 10 And the trees said to the fig-tree, Come thou, and reign over us. 11 But the fig-tree said unto them, Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave to and fro over the trees? 12 And the trees said unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us. 13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my new wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to wave to and fro over the trees? (Apostates asked Samuel to make them a king. God said they rejected Him from being their King. So He gave them Saul a demon possessed man who in hated and jealousy tried many times to kill David. Then he spoke to a medium but it was he who died) 14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble (or thorny briar, a porcupine “christian’), Come thou, and reign over us. 15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon. 16 Now therefore, if ye have dealt truly and uprightly, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands 17 (for my father fought for you, and adventured his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian: (God through us delivered these people and provided for them) 18 and ye are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maid-servant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother); 19 if ye then have dealt truly and uprightly with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you: (Notice, Because they had returned evil for good the Man-child prophesied their destruction) 20 but if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech. — The curse of God that was not causeless was performed by God who spoke it through the Man-child and evil did not depart from their house as it is today. Curses should not come from us but from God. Rom 12:14 Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not. God can speak a curse through any person of God prophetically but the curse should not come from them personally or it could come back on them. God does not ordain to judge anyone through a person who is full of hatred, slander, witchcraft, faction, fornication, etc. 2Co 10:6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be made full. We have many dreams of the factious attempting to speak curses on us through witchcraft. Some are very specific and names are always in them including the latest head of the faction. There is a curse spoken, not by us but by God on the factious. God gave it to me a few days ago by faith at random. Psa 109:17-20 Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; And he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him. 18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, And it came into his inward parts like water, And like oil into his bones. 19 Let it be unto him as the raiment wherewith he covereth himself, And for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually. 20 This is the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah, And of them that speak evil against my soul. … 28 Let them curse, but bless thou: When they arise, they shall be put to shame, But thy servant shall rejoice. 29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with dishonor, And let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe. They tried to kill sister but we blessed her. The unforgiving Faction’s curse comes upon them. Mat 18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. 28 But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest. 29 So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due. 31 So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me: 33 shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee? 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due. 35 So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. God Curses the Disobedient 1Ki 20:36 Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him. Jer 42:21 And I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah your God in anything for which he hath sent me unto you. 22 Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go to sojourn there. - - Babylon brought a curse upon them because of their disobedience. The DS Faction Burns US but Fails Gabe Watson 8/22/20 (David’s notes in red) Where I live there's kind of mountains and hills all around me. (Representing the kindoms gathered together under the Deep State against the Christians) I was on a boat by myself. I was just praying normally and all of a sudden I could see in the spirit all the trees that were on the mountains and hills burning with fire. I then heard "this nation will burn". Everywhere I looked, I just saw fire on all the trees. As I begin to continue to pray that didn't seem abnormal to me considering all the things that are going on in the nation right now. But then I saw a huge bucket with two hands holding it. The bucket began to pour water on every where there was fire. The water began to put the fire out. As I looked at the bucket, I noticed an inscription that said "Prayers of the Saints".The verse I got at random was Numbers, 19:12 the same shall purify himself therewith on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean. Then I asked if I should send it to you and got this verseJoshua, 23:14. And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Jehovah your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, not one thing hath failed thereof.Note - as I was about to send this to you I noticed there were 500 wildfires in California. I had no idea this was going on.(I believe Leftists, BLM, the anarchists, and radical muslims will on behalf of DS Babylon, attempt once again to burn the US, and especially in burning churches and pastors out. As we know the Obama/Hillary administration invaded the US with muslims for the purpose of overthrowing their enemies the Christians and right wing. As God’s people prayed He sent Cyrus to conquer the DS. But God told us through many verses in our morning prayer meeting, some today, that He would still use this DS to burn apostate Christianity typed as apostate Israel in scripture who was conquered by Babylon as a type of the Deep State. Jer 21:10 For I have set my face upon this city for evil, and not for good, saith Jehovah: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire. Jer 34:2 Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire: Jer 38:18 But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. The DS is pushed in a corner with all the prosecuting evidence against them for their crimes and love to hate Christians…I also believe that Cyrus will finish his job to conquer the DS and their proxy warriors. Here is an old revelation of America conquering the moon god of Islam.) War Leads to Revival in Islam Michael Hare - 11/07/2008 (David’s notes in red) Yesterday my wife went out on the back deck and was praying for God to save the world. She then looked up at what was a half-moon and saw the U.S. flag unfurled setting on top of it in full color. The moon's crescent points were facing to the left like a "D" shape. (Updates 8-23-20 in red: The left and crescent moon of Islam are one today) Then, as if it grew out of the moon, a pole rose up with the flag flying on top. (The flag of the US conquering Islam) There were many beams of light shining down from all across the bottom of the moon. At one time she briefly saw a cross on the right side of the moon. (The glory of God will come to Islam through this defeat) This was happening at the same time UBBS was taking place. She saw this three or four times when she went outside. I went out but did not see the flag or the light beams. Then the next night she went out and saw the flag flying over the moon once again but the beams of light were surrounding the half-moon this time. It was as if the moon was in a tunnel of light beams. (God will bring his glory to many Islamic people) She also said the moon had changed position. She didn't remember to what extent it changed, though. She saw this vision a couple of times that night but the cross was no longer seen. The next day she told me that she saw the flag over the moon even in the daytime. That night she saw the flag again but on a shorter pole, but this time the moon disappeared and a lady's face and neck appeared with beams of light on top and on bottom. Those converted from Islam will enter the Church as many are even today.) 2008 Note from David: Flags are raised in places where territory is taken or claimed. The crescent moon is the sign of Islam that is on all their flags. This probably means there will be war with Islam, as we have been expecting after another strike on the U.S., and the U.S. will be victorious in subduing some Muslim territory. (Update: as Cyrus is doing now) In this case, the crescent's points on a moon face to the left, making it a decrescent moon, as opposed to right which would be an increscent. This is a declining moon and signifies a decline in the power and world authority of Islam. The light beams shining from the bottom of the moon mean that following this suffering for them a revival of the cross and glory of Christ will begin in the lowliest of Islam. (Update: We are now watching this happen) This revival will increase, symbolized by the beams surrounding the moon in the next stage. The moon changed position, indicating a change of position among the chosen in Islam. The momentary appearance of the cross on the right side was a hint that those on the right would indeed face the cross. This happened during the UBBS program because we have written that this would happen in Hidden Manna for the End Times (see excerpt below) and taught it on our broadcasts. The last stage, the moon appearing in the daytime, signifies that God's light will shine to dispel the darkness of Islam. The lady's face and neck with light all around indicates that God will chose a glorious bride from among them, too. PTL! Here is a portion of chapter 15 of Hidden Manna, called Fall of the United States: I believe that before the tribulation begins we will see another attack on the U.S. far worse than 9/11, causing the U.S. to retaliate on its Middle Eastern enemies. (This of course has happened and many Muslims are discouraged with Islam and turning to Christ.) I received a confirming vision that had been given in autumn 2002 to Erich Reber, a Swiss prophet who is reported to be very accurate. Erich says he was transported by the Spirit of God into U.S. cities and neighborhoods, where he saw an Islamic terrorist attack that left many thousands of people dead. (Update: this is what we have seen) The silver lining in all of this will be a wonderful revival, even among Muslims. In 2005, he saw the vision again and God told him to speak it to America, which he did on May 6, 2006. "It looked far worse than after the 2004 Tsunami", he said. "The result of this attack will be the emergence of a cloud of poison that will hover over the U.S., and then slowly, over a number of days, move toward Canada”. (Update: Could this be the next plague after Covid19 which we have seen is coming?) This attack will have two results: First, it will lead to a great and new quest for God. (Revival) The followers of Jesus in the U.S., therefore, should get ready for a large harvest of people previously unmoved by God. Second, the U.S. as a nation will overreact and retaliate with military means so strong that this will lead to a huge humiliation and demoralization of the Islamic world. America and some political allies will lead a military strike of such a force that millions of Muslims will cry out to Allah in desperation -- in a similarly unanswered way as Christians in America who merely cry out to God to do something. Then, many Muslims will cry out for help to anyone, and this will be the time when Jesus will reveal Himself to them. This, in turn, will open an entirely new door for the gospel and many Muslims will be brought into the Kingdom of God. Let me describe how I feel the Scriptures show this U.S. attack on militant Islam will come to pass. First, every new world order has been preceded by tremendous war in which they conquer the previous declining empire. The wars the U.S. are fighting against the Middle East, sometimes by proxy, have their type in Scripture. Babylon became the head of the new world order by defeating the huge Middle Eastern Assyrian Empire, whose capital of Nineveh fell to them in 609 B.C.; some say 612 B.C. Nineveh is in the area of Mosul in Iraq, which the U.S. conquered. The Babylonians then chased them from city to city, like the U.S. is doing at this point. This parallel is even more striking when we consider that the Babylonians conquered the Assyrians when their chief male deity cult was the moon god. The crescent moon is the symbol of Islam and is clearly shown on the flags of the Muslim countries in and around the old Assyrian Empire. In the time of Gideon, who was a type of the Man-child in tribulation, Israel conquered the people whose god was represented by their "crescents" (Jdg.8:21,26). In the time when Isaiah cried to save Judah from Assyrian beast captivity, God promised to take away from them the "crescents" (Isa.3:18). The last unified stronghold of the Assyrian moon god adherents before the new world order was Carchemish, which was the eastern capital of the old Hittite Empire. "Hittite" means "terror". Assyrians were known as the worst of terrorists. Bernie Monsalvo, who wrote on ancient Middle Eastern Empires, wrote of them: (Update: Who are the terrorists of the moon god today?) "Assyrians seem to have been about the worst of them all. They built their state on the loot of other peoples. They practiced cruelty. They skinned their prisoners alive, or cut off their hands, feet, noses, ears, or put out their eyes, or pulled out their tongues, and made mounds of human skulls, all to inspire terror”. (Update: this is common to Islam and the DS Satanists) From here, what was in type Islamic terrorists, made one last attack on the Babylonians at Haran. This attack infuriated the Babylonians who threw all they had at Carchemish and destroyed them and their allies. (Update: There is a new king of Babylon today who is conquering Islam and the DS, Cyrus Trump.) This is historically when Babylon, a type of the U.S., was recognized as the head of the new world order and will be repeated as the tribulation begins. (Update: True) This whole sequence of events is related in Jeremiah 25. (Jer.25:1) The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), (2) which Jeremiah the prophet spake.... The "fourth year of Jehoiakim" is said by Jeremiah to be when Nebuchadnezzar defeated the Egyptians, who were allied with and fought alongside the Assyrians, and represents the worldly nations fighting through the foreign insurgents fighting to stop U.S. "democracy" from taking root. (Update: The DS and Islam hate democracy and are fighting against it with the communists.) (46:2) Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh-neco king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah. This battle was the end of the old order Assyrian Empire and beginning of the new Babylonian Empire. I believe this battle represents a terrible attack by the U.S. and allies on Middle Eastern Islamic enemies after, and in retaliation for, the next 9/11 attack on the U.S., symbolized by the attack on Haran. After this, in our Jeremiah 25 text, Babylon, as a type of the U.S., ruled for seventy years before its own fall to the Medo-Persian bear in 539 B.C. This seventy years is a type of the seven years of tribulation in which Middle Eastern peoples will be destroyed by divide-and-conquer tactics or directly by the U.S. (Jer.25:11) And this whole land (Middle East) shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy (seven) years. (Update: Coming to pass) Years ago, when I was reading of this seventy-year captivity, I heard the Spirit say, "seven years". The "seventy years" that these nations and the Jews served Babylon are a type and a reverse abbreviation for the end-time seven years of tribulation when the Middle East, Israel and the Christians will serve Babylonish U.S. at the head of the world beast. This is confirmed in Revelation 17 where the harlot of Babylon is destroyed by the beast after riding it to the end of the of seven-year tribulation. We will see much more proof that the seventy years are now seven as we continue.
The people of Babel wanted to make a name for themselves. They wanted to reach heaven by their own hand by building a huge tower that would bring them to God. But once again, God shows them that it's only through His Word and plan that we can get into heaven. This week's show dives into the story of the Tower of Babel, as the people's babbling amongst themselves gets them into trouble with God! He keeps His promise and doesn't flood the earth, but He does get creative and changes all the languages! Barrenness is one of the most common themes in the Bible and tonight Bishop Dag uses the biblical stories of Abraham and Baalam as shining examples of how God can bring a breakthrough despite having a form of barrenness. God wants to use you and he can use a barren womb to bring about the miraculous. In today's message you will learn that sometimes God allows us to go through certain things so we can be ready at the exact moment he has predestined. If you allow God to use you he will surprise you mightily: be encouraged by today's word!

Listen as we read the book of Numbers, chapter 22 - 24 where God protects Israel from Baalam and Balak. To Jesus be all the glory! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/michelle-donnatien/message
Balak was King of Moab, he saw “the people that came up out of Egypt” camped at his door step and became fearful. He sent to Mesopotamia for the seer called Baalam offering riches and prestige if he would come and curse these people for him. having been cursed by Baalam perviously he thought this would be the answer to his problems. Baalam who was related to Abraham and Laban was, in fact, able to communicate with the God of Israel, and was told by YHVH not to go or curse the people. King balak did not take no for an answer and sent other more important people to convince Baalam to come to his aid. Baalam does finally agree to come, but with the understanding he could only say what God instructed him to say. Baalam has an interesting encounter with an angel on the way, his donkey gives him advice and he responds to the donkey, and finds himself now ordered to go to King Balak, and only repeat the words from God. These words turned out to be two blessings and a clear prophecy of the end times. Baalam, still hoping for riches, agrees to place a stumbling block in the path of the children of Israel, and not only looses his fame and riches, but later his life but not before Pinchas, a grandson of Aaron, shows up to “stay the plague” created by Baalam. An action packed section of Scripture with lots to tell us about living, and how not to live, a spirt filled life.
We met Pinchas last week at the conclusion of the section about Balak and Baalam. He was zealous for God and was rewarded by God for his actions. We learn of the continual struggle between the Jews and Arab and why it will never end this side of Heaven, why it is important, and why there can never be peace in the Middle East no matter which President tells you he has worked it out. The Lord commands a new census of the people as the land needed to be apportioned, and we see the dramatic decline of the rebellious groups and increase of those not involved in the many rebellions. An interesting section about women being important to the nation Israel and instructions for celebrating the daily, monthly, and special feasts and why they are important to our spiritual understanding. More discussions about Moses death and burial on Mt Pisgah, and a surprising tie in with Gog. Another Scripture section confirming we can do better for YHVH and for ourselves, than our Sunday morning flannel graph understanding of the TaNaKh.
Balaam was a prophet of God, whos greed led him to seduce the people of Israel to sin against God and as a result Baalam was destroyed.
Jim Schatzman gives the third installment in our “Engaging with God for Change” series. Using the stories of Baalam, Paul and Annanias, Jim shows how hard God is working to speak to us and how we begin to prepare ourselves to listen.
Pastor Marcus continues with his sermon on the book of Ecclesiastes. Who we choose to partner with makes a big difference in life. We need to be careful to partner with wisdom rather than the foolish.
The church at Pergamum was immersed in a culture that was absorbed by the worship of knowledge, false god’s and Caesar. Jesus wrote the church a letter and challenged them to be victorious by remaining true to his name without renouncing their faith. This same challenge exists for the church today. In todays podcast, Pastor Christian challenges us to guard our hearts closely so that Satan cannot establish a throne.
