Jeannette is joined by Anna Nash, the president of Explora Journeys, who shares her insights on the luxury travel industry and her journey in leadership. Anna discusses her definition of luxury, emphasising the importance of time and personalised service, and reflects on her transition from a corporate environment to a family-owned business. She highlights the unique offerings of Explora Journeys, including its focus on exceptional dining experiences and spacious accommodations, the challenges of recruiting talent in the luxury segment, the significance of team culture, and the importance of communication in leadership. KEY TAKEAWAYS Luxury is defined as having time and receiving exceptional, personalised service that anticipates every need. It is viewed as an overused term, but for the speaker, it centres around the experience of time and service. Finding the right talent in the luxury segment is crucial, with a focus on soft skills such as a can-do attitude and a guest-centric approach. The importance of listening to customer feedback is vital, with a commitment to responding to every guest's communication. This approach not only helps in recovering from any issues but also strengthens customer loyalty. BEST MOMENTS "For me, luxury is time. I think having time to switch off, having time to really be pampered, having time to explore locations at great depth, but also great service, very personal service." "I'm looking for somebody that I know will click with the environment in which we operate, has a passion to succeed, and is all about the attention to detail and a guest-centric approach." "I think there's a bit of a re-marketing job, almost a rebranding of the sector to attract people back that may have left for alternative options." "It's about having the right team behind you. I'm always a champion of my team and making sure you have the tools and the motivation in order to succeed." Ceri explores the future of cultural spaces with Seb Chan, the director & CEO of ACMI, where he is redefining how museums connect with their audiences. Seb talks about his evolution from experimental music producer to museum innovator and reveals how his background in creating immersive musical experiences has shaped his approach to museum design. Seb’s unique experiences and professional knowledge give a unique perspective on how museums can shape the future. KEY TAKEAWAYS Drawing from his experimental music background, Seb discovered that museums should move beyond traditional education to spark curiosity. His experience in underground music scenes taught him how to create environments where people feel empowered to explore the unfamiliar. Going from tech consultant to museum CEO, Seb developed a future focused philosophy. He now insists cultural institutions must be designed for the future, considering not just technology but also the skills future generations will need. Leading multiple international institutions taught Seb the importance of acknowledging diverse cultural contexts. His experiences across New Zealand, Australia, and America shaped his understanding of how museums can create inclusive spaces that transcend shared assumptions. Physical tools can enhance digital experiences. Seb’s work with these technologies revealed solutions for maintaining visitor focus in our distraction prone lives. Through years of visitor research and practical application, Seb developed strategic principles for creating memorable museum experiences. His approach integrates multisensory engagement with thoughtful space utilisation. Witnessing the erosion of societal trust, Seb recognises why cultural institutions are vital spaces for rebuilding connections. His leadership philosophy emphasises fostering genuine dialogue and understanding across communities. Despite facing resource constraints and pandemic exhaustion, Seb maintains his commitment to experimentation; continuous innovation is crucial for addressing complex societal challenges. Based on his transformative work at ACMI, Seb changed how they measure success. He shifted focus from traditional visitor counts to deeper engagement indicators, fundamentally changing how museums evaluate their impact. BEST MOMENTS "For me, music has a particular ability to transcend cultures and time and space too, it gives you a different sense of time. Going to a gig or going out to an event, that sort of sense of time shifts and time stretches and makes me think about things in other ways." "In the world we live in, where all our social relations and communities are run through media, museums have a vital role in helping people make sense of that complexity." "You can design spaces to change behaviour and to change people's openness and when you design them well, they work. I know a lot of artists are sort of thinking about this sort of stuff too." "Niche interests and the platforms that media is distributed on, and the way those platforms monetise attention as well is based on fragmentation and driving difference amongst that. And that can be very interesting and positive and also politically, it can be very destructive as well as we're seeing play out in various parts of the world." "Focus is hard now. I think people find there's lots of things vying for their focus. But again, using those design principles, I think you can design for focus." "We need to find ways to disagree about things... there was an ability to disagree without it becoming, your house getting swatted." "It's very easy to get someone interested in music that they didn't think they liked and it's probably the easiest art form to get someone interested in because it's so multisensory." "People are interested in lots and lots of different things and they're very up for things they're not familiar with if you don't make them feel like idiots." In this episode, we chat with Joe David, MD of Elementos, a resources development company focused on the exploration and development of tin projects into operations, with a focus on jurisdictions that demonstrate a high level of governance and foster a responsible approach to mining. Their assets are in Spain and Australia. With qualifications in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering, and a degree in Finance, Joe’s career has spanned executive roles with private equity, listed and private mining companies, as an Associate Director within M&A advisory and running his own project development consulting company. During his career, he has managed the development of mining projects, bankable feasibility studies, exploration and metallurgical programs, project financing, corporate finance advisory, corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. He gives us an overview of Elementos, their Oropesa Tin Project and Cleveland Project, the tin market, and advice for those seeking c-suite roles in mining. KEY TAKEAWAYS Elementos is a resources development company focused on tin projects in Spain and Australia. The company aims to become a vertically integrated tin producer within the European Union, addressing the current lack of domestic tin supply in the region. The flagship asset, the Oropesa Tin Project in Andalusia, Spain, is positioned to produce approximately 5,400 tonnes of tin concentrate per year. The project benefits from a supportive regulatory environment and is expected to receive necessary permits by the end of 2025 or early 2026. The Cleveland Tin Project in Tasmania has a rich history of tin mining and significant resources. Recent drilling has revealed promising tungsten mineralization, indicating potential for additional valuable resources alongside tin and copper. While developing mining projects in Europe can be challenging due to regulatory hurdles, Spain is seen as a favourable location due to its historical mining background and government support for revitalising the industry. The European Union's Critical Raw Materials Act further encourages domestic production, making it an attractive environment for mining investments. BEST MOMENTS "For me, I want to explain how I've got to where I am in my career, certainly took the generalist path, which can certainly be a frustrating path when you don't feel like maybe you're progressing as much as the specialist early in your career." "There's currently no operating tin mines within the European Union at all. There's no domestic supply." "The tin industry has been screaming out for vertical integration for a while... we're just not a company that's prepared to sit around and wait." "Spain is a bit of an outlier... the Iberian Peninsula has had a long history of mining... and the Andalusian government is putting huge investment effort into rebuilding the Spanish mining industry." In this special Christmas edition of The Wealth Whisperer, Hazel explores the transformative power of giving and its profound impact on wealth and well-being. Emphasising the ancient tradition of tithing and the spiritual significance of generosity, the episode features powerful quotes from notable figures like Saint Francis of Assisi and Winston Churchill. Hazel discusses how giving fosters a sense of abundance, opens the heart, and creates a positive energy exchange between the giver and receiver. KEY TAKEAWAYS The Power of Giving: Giving is recognised as a powerful principle that enhances both personal well-being and the well-being of others. It fosters a sense of abundance and love, which can transform one's perspective on life. Abundance Mindset: Embracing an abundance mindset, even in times of scarcity, can shift your feelings and open your heart. Recognising the support and care received throughout life can help cultivate this mindset. Different Forms of Giving: Giving is not limited to monetary donations; it can include time, knowledge, kindness, and even simple gestures like a smile. Each act of giving contributes positively to both the giver and the receiver. The Ripple Effect of Kindness: Small acts of kindness can have far-reaching effects, as illustrated by the "Pay It Forward" principle. Engaging in acts of generosity can create a cycle of compassion and gratitude. BEST MOMENTS"For it is in giving that we receive." — Saint Francis of Assisi "The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity." — Leo Tolstoy "If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody." — Chinese proverb "What giving does in my estimation is it proves the principle of abundance." During one particular property mentoring session back in 2009, she had a powerful recognition of exactly how to facilitate this. A revisit of Mark talking through property news headlines including why UK rental prices have continued to increase despite government measures. Mark gives his thoughts on proposed rent controls being introduced in Wales, the impact of current rent controls in Scotland and why the UK does not offer value for money in renting properties. He also reveals the many other reasons behind the current rental crisis in the UK. KEY TAKEAWAYS 50k rental properties are needed to meet the demand in the UK Rent controls do not work. In the 60s and 70s, this was proven and it is being proven again. Rent control reduces the rental stock and pushes prices up, it also impacts the country's labour market as people cannot move around easily. People in the UK live in smaller homes than many other countries including France, Germany and Japan. Planning is extremely slow in the UK, this impacts the speed at which properties can be developed. Women in the UK are having fewer children than are needed to sustain the workforce which means immigration is heavily relied on. BEST MOMENTS  "For the 17th consecutive time, the price of renting in the UK has gone up”  “Rent control doesn't work” “It will reduce the quality and selection”  “Reduce the cost of childcare and get women back to work” “It's stealing off a section of society and it's not right” VALUABLE RESOURCES  https://www.youtube.com/user/progressiveproperty https://www.progressiveproperty.co.uk/the-progressive-co-founders/ ABOUT THE HOST Mark has bought, sold or has managed around 1,000 property units for himself, Rob, his family and his investors since 2003. On this episode of the Lead With Purpose podcast host, Tze Ching Yeung talks to Adela Mei, founder of Jackdaw Coaching, to talk about ecology, conservation, business coaching, the rainforest, and more.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I was running a bar, watching people drinking and I had this moment where I asked myself what I was doing. I ended up seeing a counselor by accident and he asked me what it was I wanted to know, and I said I wanted to find out how it all works. He said that was called ecology and I went off to university at the age of 25 to study ecology and conservation and went on to do a master's. Over the last 20 years, things have got better and worse. Eco-tourism, the idea that by bringing tourism to the rainforest you also bring income to indigenous villages, in theory, was fantastic: Villages worked in the biological research stations making handicrafts to sell, and some were taught English and worked as guides. The downside of that is that local people were earning significantly more money than they'd been used to and they spent it on alcohol, so it had a devastating impact on the communities, especially the young. While I was in Peru I got interested in web design and marketing because I was doing that while I was there. When I came back to the UK I started building websites for other wildlife conservation projects. That side of my business grew for quite some time and though I couldn't get back out to the rainforest I really love technology and I bring all of that into my work now. We are intrinsically connected to the planet. It may not be obvious to everybody, but the air we breathe, and the water we drink, are all connected and underpin that belief. We must protect the planet and do our best. BEST MOMENTS ‘For my dissertation I went to Peru for three months with a friend to study emergent trees in the rainforest, and I got the bug. Over the next three years I was out there most of the time.' ‘When people talk about “nature bathing”, this was full immersion in the rainforest.' ‘Seeing clear-felling broke my heart. What was pristine rainforest that was thousands of years old decimated in days.' ‘I work mainly with positive impact projects – businesses or business owners who deeply care about the environment and who want to be a forced for good.'   ABOUT THE GUEST Adela Mei helps business owners take simple steps to sustainable business success, with digital strategy and business coaching. With her wealth of experience in web design, digital marketing, and online platforms, she helps business owners streamline their online presence, creating consistent and clear messaging, so they can attract more clients. Adela set up her own company Jackdaw Coaching Ltd in 2020 to support small businesses grow sustainably, through digital strategy, personal branding and business coaching. ABOUT THE HOST Tze Ching started her entrepreneurial journey back in 2007 with the launch of a sustainable clothing & home furnishing ecommerce business. Next, she created a sustainable fashion brand. In 2019, she launched a social enterprise to help raise awareness about the negative impact of fashion at schools & colleges. Through the 15-year journey, she learned so much, but easily the most meaningful lesson learned was about the importance of marketing. She now focuses on channelling those insights to help others succeed through We Disrupt Agency, a business coaching, mentoring & digital marketing company. Tze Ching's mission is to create a community of global change makers and to contribute to positive change in both people & planet. CONTACT DETAILS Website Facebook Instagram Twitter LinkedIn

On this episode Kat is joined by Jovan who shares his journey with habits, what led him to suffer from panic attacks and the number one thing he swears by that has made him better at work and at home. KEY TAKEAWAYS Two years ago, I had a moment with my mental health where I got stuck inside my own head. I was new to a role, and I wasn't getting assessed like I had been, they were small things, but in my head, I'd been quite successful at everything that I'd done, so when I started hitting barriers it was alien to me. I starting having panic attacks and got to a point where I needed to take time off. It's really important not to hold yourself to too many rigid rules because things change and adapt and we need to change and adapt with them, and if you don't that's where you can get problems. In 2018 I weighed 22 stone, I was coaching football with my kids and work was fine but I was starting to develop health issues – underactive thyroid, diabetes, liver disease and sleep apnoea – I thought “this isn't me”, I'm quite a sporty person but I'd lost balance in my life. That was a switching point where I needed to get my head in the game again. Guys on the ground doing the work in the construction industry are more likely to eat anything on their lunch because they're burning the calories, and I can understand that. People who work behind the desk need to think about what they're eating more and take time to plan the preparation of their food. That said, there are more coffee shops and gyms and fewer pubs now and the attitude to health and exercise is much better in youngsters that it was for us growing up, they're clearly paying attention to it. BEST MOMENTS “For a number of years, mental health wasn't a term I'd heard in the construction industry, it wasn't talked about at all until the last 10 years, and it's great that it has.” “You can only control the controllables.” “We all know how to control habits but, until you're bothered enough and care enough for yourself, you don't try to control it.” “I want to be there for my kids when they're older and not balloon, get less health, have problems and have a heart attack.” ABOUT THE GUEST Jovan Marcetic, Regional Director at PSR Solutions, has worked in recruitment since 2000 and his passion has always been people. Specialising in the recruitment of freelance professionals within the Construction Industry he has built many long-term business relationships as well as amassing a large candidate base."I am extremely passionate about the work I do; I enjoy the pressure it brings, and I love the Construction Industry and the people working in it. I am keen to pass on my knowledge whilst also continuing to expand my own experiences with additional learning through reading and listening to a variety of related podcasts and audiobooks. Helping to make a positive difference in people's lives is a fundamental driver for me."LinkedIn ABOUT THE HOST Kat started her career as a teacher, before moving into Tech where she worked in different executive roles within teaching and consulting working across the globe, both in the public and private sector. Despite appearing 'successful' on the outside, she paid a heavy ‘life' price. In 2016, her whole world collapsed. The reason? The compound effect of years of unhealthy and toxic habits that destroyed her health, relationship and career. She suffered a severe breakdown and lost everything. In the middle of this she got headhunted for her first CEO role. She rebuilt herself by changing just one small habit, and built a series of positive habits which has transformed her professional and personal performance, resulting in becoming the healthiest and happiest version of herself. She is a positive habits international keynote speaker and teacher, giving talks and delivering high impact programmes to organisations across the globe. LinkedIn Instagram

On this episode of the Scouting For Growth podcast, Sabine VdL talks to Edward Brawer, co-founder and CEO of PodcastAI, a groundbreaking SaaS platform that's revolutionising the podcasting industry. In this episode, we'll explore: Edward's entrepreneurial journey and the origin of PodcastAI, how AI is transforming the podcasting landscape, the future of content creation and distribution in the digital age, strategies for entrepreneurs looking to leverage podcasting for growth, & the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving podcasting market. KEY TAKEAWAYS Our previous startup was with a video platform, we looked at what we could do with AI & the models were pretty expensive. It could take the titles of YouTube videos & it would give you new titles which isn't super useful. The real Aha moment for everybody was ChatGPT because it wasn't a technological development, it was realising how to use the technology. It was at that time I realised that there was no limit to what you could build with this which led me to start PodcastAI. In February I started playing around with AI voice models & I realised that I could create a parody of an episode of the All In Podcast. I posted it on Twitter & it was reposted by them & went viral, hitting 600,000 views. We did 6 in total & people wanted to know if it was real, if AI had produced the podcast, they asked for the code and GitHub repository. That's when we knew we could do it & we now have a product called ‘The Magic Pod' which creates a podcast for people who aren't comfortable with being in front of a microphone, it creates a completely automatically generated podcast based on a blog, news sites in your voice. Podcasting can be as simple or complicated as you want it to be. At its simplest, you can have a Zoom recording a put that out, PodcastAI can level up your production quality by automating all the post-production, distribution & promotion. At the higher end it's more like a scripted TV show. Everybody is able to do this. A100 years ago, the percentage of the population engaged in farming was easily double digit, now maybe 1% has to be engaged in farming because there are tractors etc. Not everybody became unemployed, they went on to do even greater stuff & increased the standard of living for everybody and earned higher wages. BEST MOMENTS ‘For most podcasters the interview is the fun part and the rest is less fun (pre- & post-production, editing, promotion & distribution, website CMS), Podcast AI makes podcasting effortless.' ‘Magic Pod is a whole new game. You don't even have to do the recording part, just give it a 3 minute sample of your voice, upload it into our system & it automatically goes out on the day & time you want.' ‘Today, podcasting is a $28billion market. In 5 years it's going to be $100billion.' ‘You'll have more throughput, higher quality overall outcomes of the work produced & agencies are going to be able to scale in a way they haven't been able to, it's going to become an enabling technology.' ABOUT THE GUEST Edward Brawer is the co-founder and CEO of PodcastAI, a cutting-edge SaaS platform revolutionising the podcasting industry through AI-powered automation. Launched in 2023, PodcastAI offers a comprehensive suite of tools for podcast creation, post-production, & distribution. Under Edward's leadership, PodcastAI has secured venture backing, with Jason Calacanis' Launch fund as the lead investor. The platform offers innovative features such as AI-generated ad reads, fully automated podcast episodes, & comprehensive post-production services, positioning itself at the forefront of the rapidly growing podcasting market. Mark talks through recent property news headlines including why UK rental prices have continued to increase despite government measures. Two of the most talked about issues in the country in regards to housing, are how the next generation will afford it and the impact migration and immigration are having on the housing shortage. Mark joins Nigel Farage on GB news to discuss this and the promises of house building from the current secretary of state for housing Michael Gove. KEY TAKEAWAYS Michael Gove has said the government can and will override local government and council decisions around housing. Nigel Farage believes the single biggest issue facing the housing crisis is immigration. Rental increases are largely in part due to a lack of supply of housing. The government needs to present and show new ideas to help the lack of housing in this country right now. New towns are one of the solutions to the housing crisis. The housing planning system in this country is broken, being done at a local level it's very political and this is detrimental to housing development. Get ready for another exciting episode with Ishreen, Roger, and our special guest, Reena Anand! In part 3 of our series, Reena opens up about her journey as a parent of a neurodivergent child and shares some fantastic insights on making the world a more inclusive place for neurodivergent folks. We'll dive deep into topics like education, flexibility, and the power of being an ally in knocking down barriers and promoting fairness and inclusion. So, grab your headphones and get ready to be inspired! Remember, it's all about doing your own research, questioning biases, and actively championing a culture of acceptance and understanding. KEY TAKEAWAYS Don't expect neurodivergent individuals to be responsible for educating others about their condition. Take ownership and educate yourself about neurodiversity, including understanding the right language and terminology. Be flexible and accommodating in the workplace, especially when working on group projects or setting deadlines. Recognize the specific needs of neurodivergent colleagues and avoid making assumptions about their capabilities or commitment levels. Check your language and avoid using ableist language or making assumptions about neurodivergent individuals. Educate yourself on inclusive language and be mindful of the impact of your words. Familiarize yourself with the specific needs of different neurodivergent conditions, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. This knowledge will enable you to be a source of support and understanding. Be an ally for the neurodivergent community. In meetings and discussions, consider how decisions and actions may impact marginalized groups, including neurodivergent individuals. Advocate for their needs and ensure their voices are heard and considered. BEST MOMENTS "For a start, don't say that everyone's on the spectrum, because fundamentally ableist thing to say." "You have to take ownership to learn a bit yourself and as a minimum learn what is the right language, what is a neurotype, what is the difference between neurodivergence and neurodivergent." "If you don't know what the barriers and struggles are of other groups, you're never going to be able to empathize and be able to be an ally in a room where things are being discussed." "I told him he was autistic when he was six, he didn't quite get it. I told him again when he was seven, it made sense. And I think it was the age of eight, he did a presentation to the year group around what it means to be autistic and how proud he is of it." "When you're in a room, when meeting schedules are being circulated, when programs are being designed, ask yourself consciously, who might this impact? Who can we check in with to make sure that marginalized groups are not inadvertently disadvantaged by what we're proposing to do?" What is Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) and is it specific to ADHD?

Archie joins Aniesa to discuss RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria), the extreme emotional sensitivity or pain which is triggered by the perception that they are being rejected or criticised by important people in their life. It can also come into play when they feel like they have failed to meet their own, or others, expectations. They talk about how RSD presents, what the experience feels like and whether RSD is specific to ADHD including what other conditions or issues can present in a similar way. KEY TAKEAWAYS RSD is often linked to ADHD but trauma can present in the same way. Individuals with RSD can feel a lot of shame when they are given feedback or criticism. RSD isn't recognised as a mental disorder or illness, which can make people feel like it isn't actually happening to them and feed into imposter syndrome. Difficulty with emotional regulation is a major indicator of ADHD and RSD only impacts this further with intense and overwhelming emotions. Individuals can become consumed, almost hyperfocused, on behaviour that they perceive to be rejection. Justice sensitivity is a feature of RSD, individuals are more attuned to justice for victims. It can be very distressing to experience but can also make very good advocates. RSD comes with very high standards that are usually impossible to achieve, impacting self-esteem. The fear of rejection can sometimes actually mean an individual with RSD will put up with a lot of bad behaviour before reprimanding someone, it can take a lot for them to see the ‘bad' in people. Genetics and the brain's structure are thought to be the biggest cause and indicator of RSD. BEST MOMENTS "For people with RSD, these universal life experiences are much more severe than for neurotypical individuals” “For me when I'm in conversation with someone my main objective is how do I agree with this person which is so annoying because I'm never going to agree with everybody” “The RSD is so strong, sometimes at its strongest just because you are alone” “Then you have a whole family of people who are always seriously second-guessing themselves”CONTACT METHODwww.instagram.com/aniesabblore/           www.instagram.com/sensationalkidstherapyuk/    www.facebook.com/sensationalkidslondon ABOUT THE HOST Aniesa completed her degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Stellenbosch, in South Africa. Mark Fidelman: Tokenizing Industries

Scouting for Growth

On this episode, Sabine VdL talks to Mark Fidelman, founder of SmartBlocks.Agency, and a globally recognised thought leader with over two decades of tech-fuelled wisdom.Whether you're a CEO pondering your next strategic move, a CTO looking to harness emerging technologies, or a CDO keen on transformative solutions, buckle up! We're about to deep-dive into a world where the token is mightier than the sword. KEY TAKEAWAYS It's always more fun to join up and coming companies before big businesses come in and take over, but I quickly realised I wasn't building anything by doing this. The crypto I tend to focus on is the tokenisation/fractionalisation of assets where you break up real estate or something really valuable and you allow the democratisation of that asset to anyone that wants to invest in it. Tokenisation is much safer than crypto. There's no such thing as ‘hacked wallets' because everything's white listed, it's attached to you, so if somebody steals those tokens out of your wallet you can go back to the issuer and say “cancel those and reissue mine”, you can't do that with crypto. To me crypto is Monopoly money, what I'm doing is real, with real money. If you were to invest £1,000 every single month in one of the projects that are paying 10-15%, in 10 years you'd have a £30,000 per month income for life – some of that is because the real estate was sold, but on average it works out this way.  BEST MOMENTS‘For young entrepreneurs the top 5 areas are AI, engineering (like SpaceX), cryptocurrency (find a niche), Ecommerce, and tools and technologies (SaaS-based products that solve a really nuanced problem that no one else is solving).'‘I chose tokens when I fractionalise businesses because it's a lot easier to set up, then you have a blockchain that does all the management, you're not working with the stock exchange or have expensive systems in place.'‘It's the future, if you look at Black Rock, Bank of America, Citi, they're all saying the same thing: everything's going to be fractionalised. They've already tokenised billions of dollars of bands because you can then trade that anywhere in the world, you're not subject to local laws.'‘95% of crypto is just a scam, they're worthless, they're not backed by anything, they're just a big ponzi scheme. Though there are 5% that will change the future, we just need to better educate people on what's what.' Contact and social links below: https://mindsetchangeuk.com/useful-links KEY TAKEAWAYS Narcissistic abuse is characterised by a lack of empathy, cruelty, and manipulation. Narcissists often trigger and derail their victims in order to maintain control and shift blame onto them. Recognising the warning signs of a narcissist can be challenging, as they often engage in love bombing and present themselves as the perfect partner. It is important to be cautious and take the time to get to know someone before becoming deeply involved with them. Narcissists cannot change because their false self, which is constructed to feel superior and demand attention, prevents them from admitting any wrongdoing or taking responsibility for their actions. They are unable to access their true self and lack the capacity for genuine empathy. People often tolerate narcissistic abuse due to cognitive dissonance, where they create justifications and excuses for staying in the relationship. These can include beliefs that the narcissist will change, that they are doing it for the children or finances, or that they have a soul contract to heal the narcissist. BEST MOMENTS "For a narcissist, what they want to do always is trigger you and derail you so that they can stand back and go, oh, you're the problem." "I really thought God had blessed me with the man who was the man of my dreams… But yet, he had these insecurities and these triggers, which I just thought, oh, that's a bit unusual or weird, but you know, we love each other, that'll be fine." "I was absolutely addicted to him like a heroin addict… People who understood what was going on were pretty much saying, well, what is wrong with you? Why do you keep going back to this person?" "I'm going to love and heal us back to health. And I'm never leaving you again… From that moment on, I started life in a quantum way, from the inside out." You'll get an instant PDF report with powerful insights specifically tailored to your business in just 4 minutes.https://highvalueexit.scoreapp.com/ KEY TAKEAWAYS Mastermind rooms are not just about gaining knowledge or making business connections. They are about creating a space for collaboration, transformation, and personal growth. The energy and frequency of the people in the room can greatly impact the synergy and outcomes of a mastermind. Masterminds can be categorized into different tiers based on the participants' objectives and experiences. The first tier focuses on gaining knowledge and proving oneself. The second tier involves networking and seeking referrals. The highest tier is about collaboration, creativity, and giving. Understanding which tier aligns with your objectives can help you choose the right mastermind. Being self-aware and in alignment with your values and purpose is essential for a meaningful mastermind experience. When participants are authentic, vulnerable, and focused on personal growth, the room becomes a space for deep connections, support, and transformation. BEST MOMENTS "For the past decade, I have been studying rooms and environments and the role that they play on synergies, relationships, frequencies, and collaborations." "There's never peace inside. We only find our 'artificial peace' on the outside, which never actually satisfies." "I found that the people that I was working with, these CEOs, their egos were really, really hard to actually manage and get through and actually create change." "There's not any inner peace because they're not listening to the internal voice. They're listening to every voice outside of them and every external stimuli." In this episode, David talks about creating a great customer experience. He outlines why providing outstanding customer service makes businesses more efficient and, therefore, more profitable. Then, explains how to consistently deliver an amazing customer experience and do so despite the fact what they want is in a constant state of flux.   David explains how to create a customer journey map and how to use that to track how well you are doing at each touch point. Then, work to improve every single aspect of your service.   KEY TAKEAWAYS   Statistics show that a happy customer really is far more likely to buy from you again. Often, processes are designed with the business in mind rather than the customer. This usually has a negative impact on their experience. Companies with good customer service are more profitable. Look at the customer experience end to end. Create a customer journey map. Constantly monitor how good the service the third parties you use are providing. They also play a big role in creating a great customer experience. Use customer surveys, but also look at broader trends e.g., your level of repeat sales. Ask your customers what else they want from you. Focus first on the high impact actions, especially those that are easy to implement. BEST MOMENTS ‘For 10% more satisfaction you get 46% more trust.' ‘Customer expectations are always changing.' ‘It's an iterative cycle of improvement, progress, and growth.'   ABOUT THE SHOW People with purpose make a difference. In this episode, Kenneth is joined by Josh Hockin - Head of Coffee at Eight Ounce Coffee out of Canada, who import specialty coffee gear across North America, and beyond. They sit down to discuss one of the most innovative brewing tools there is – The Clever Dripper. Kenneth and Josh share how they use it. Including some tips and tricks, you can use to make a consistently good cup of coffee and do so without things getting messy. Including ratios, which filter to use, and maintenance tips. KEY TAKEAWAYS The Clever Dripper is super simple – ideal for using first thing in the morning when you are still a bit groggy. The spring-loaded stopper at the bottom enables you to sit it on top of a mug and let the coffee drain out. Having a lid helps to keep the heat in during extraction. Don´t use the maximum capacity. For the large Clever Dripper use the Melitta No. 4 (Kalita 103). Every gram of coffee will typically hold on to about 1.5 to 2 grams of water. Using a slightly higher ratio of coffee than normal means you are less likely to over-extract. Add your water first, to create a more predictable drawdown time. Because the Clever is plastic there is very little heat transfer. BEST MOMENTS ‘For an everyday cup, it's not a big investment and it makes delicious coffee.' ‘The moving parts that are in there are engineered quite well.´ ‘You can still get a great extraction using a smaller coffee-to-water ratio.' On this episode of the Woman Power Zone Podcast Ariel is joined by Mena Canonico who helps people get to the root of their issues in a very unique way and she has an amazing story.Mena trained with the Coaches Leadership ProgramA great question from her Coaches Leadership Program: "What were you born at this time in history to do?"Another great program: "What is the treasure in the trauma?" KEY TAKEAWAYS The root of where I am today started when my family moved to Liberty Street on a 10-acre farm when I was 6 years old and our neighbours had horses. I immediately fell in love and I pestered my parents until they brought a horse for me, called Lady. Everything was lovely until one day when I was riding her near the road and a tractor trailer came by, spooked her, she reared up, I came off, she ran and hit a fence with barbed wire attached. In that moment I felt completely powerless, abandoned, helpless, at a loss. I don't think I truly realised how traumatic it was for me, but I made the decision never to ride horses again. Not long after that my parents split up, sold the farm and I was away from horses for 24 years. I worked in corporate for 16 years and I realised that this was not what I wanted to be doing. So, I started looking around to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I started asking questions and reading books, finally I discovered life coaching and went to an information session and immediately knew this was it. From there I was put forward for the leadership training program, which is $10,000 in 2005. I didn't see myself as a leader at all, but I took the program after being packaged out of the job I was at, which afforded me the $10k. That was the catalyst for me to take a leap of faith and leave corporate almost 17 years ago now. I started going into schools talking to youths about being real and authentic. As I was doing that, people asked if there was anything I could do just for the girls. Through that I got connected to a 15 year old girl in Florida in 2009 who said she wanted to interview me but she was really there to open my eyes to the fact that horses have these incredible gifts. Horses saved her life, they help you get grounded and help you get grounded, get focussed, you become a better leader, a better partner, and at 15 she was doing clinics for kids who had ADHD and autism. I made it my mission to overcome my fear and incorporate horses into my business and my life's work, to help remind women of how incredibly powerful we are. Also that every single traumatic experience we've ever had, we can look at it differently and we can look for the treasure in that trauma. BEST MOMENTS“For my whole life I believed that I was not good enough because I was a girl, which I think many of us buy into that… until we don't.”“I was born at this time in history to show people how to take off their masks and be real.”“My destiny was formed the moment I fell off my horse, Lady.”“None of us are immune from imposter syndrome, you might as well let go of that idea, the more work you can do on yourself the more people you're going to be able to become empowered.” ABOUT THE GUEST Mena CanonicoFounder, Liberty Lane RetreatsCertified Facilitator of Equine Experiential LearningSocials: 416-999-REAL (7325)https://www.libertylaneretreats.com  (coming soon - sign up to be the first to know!)https://www.facebook.com/LibertyLaneRetreats https://www.instagram.com/menaandthefreedomherd https://www.linkedin.com/in/menacanonico HOST GUESTAriel is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, Empath and Psychic who has been involved in holistic healing since 1988. On this episode of the Lead With Purpose podcast host, Tze Ching Yeung shares something she has learned from Grant Cardone, a very successful businessman and sales expert who has training programmes around marketing, sales, entrepreneurship, etc. He recently gave a seminar after appearing on the TV show ‘Undercover Billionaire' where he was challenged to create a $1million business from scratch in 90 days with $0. He ended up making $5.5million. How? KEY TAKEAWAYS Firstly, Grant Cardone was not allowed to use his name, his credit cards, his contacts, or his family during his 90 day challenge. He explained that the way he created this successful business is by a framework that he simplified into contacts = contracts. Who has what we need for us to succeed or to sign that contract?  Find out who that is. Grant found a guy, Ryan, who owned a small store and told him he had nowhere to stay and that in return for somewhere to stay he would look after and clean the store after hours. As well as letting Grant do this, Ryan also gave him $100 credit at a local restaurant so he could eat. He also gave him a list of names of the local players in the area, Grant then set about contacting these influential people and this was the beginning of him building his business. He offered one businessman marketing services in return for not very much, he just wanted to gain the experience and meet some more people. Because he did so well, he got hired and got $5,000 to run a promotional campaign.  After covid stopped the filming of the show, Cardone went back and found out the company had replaced him with a marketing agency. So, he approached them and asked if they could partner us to create a marketing business. They then pitched their services to all of the company's contacts and local businesses and from there they grew the business to $5.5million within 90 days. BEST MOMENTS‘For everything that we do and want in life there is somebody else who has it, so the more contacts that you make with people who have what you want, the more contracts you will get.'‘When you ask for something make sure you also offer something back.'‘People are everything. They have everything that you need and your job is to identify who those people are and find a way to convince them to give it to you. The only way you do that is through contacts.'‘How many people do you contact every day? Are you working on your outreach? Are you cold calling people? Get in touch with people, network with them, ask them what they need, tell them what services you can provide to them.' ABOUT THE HOSTTze Ching started her entrepreneurial journey back in 2007 with the launch of a sustainable clothing and home furnishing ecommerce business. Next, she created a sustainable fashion brand. In 2019, she launched a social enterprise to help raise awareness about the negative impact of fashion at schools and colleges.Through the 15-year journey, she learned so much, but easily the most meaningful lesson learned was about the importance of marketing. She now focuses on channelling those insights to help others succeed, through We Disrupt Agency, a business coaching, mentoring and digital marketing company. According to the Fed, most inheritances are for less than $50,000. And only about 2% of the inheritances were for $1 million or more.  But comparing how much actual money was involved in those transactions—not just the number of transactions—told a different story.  Despite being just 2% of the total count, those million-dollar-plus transfers accounted for 40% of the total dollars that changed hands. And the figures around gifts among living people showed even wider disparities. From Capital One's article on generational wealth, January 5th, 2023 The Fed's analysis showed gift and inheritance recipients were “much more likely to be college-educated, high-income, and high-wealth.” Data also showed recipients were 88% white.  That number is part of why additional Fed research found “the typical White family has eight times the wealth of the typical Black family and five times the wealth of the typical Hispanic family.” Along with intergenerational transfers, the research also cited “homeownership opportunities, access to tax-sheltered savings plans, and individuals' savings and investment decisions” as major factors that contribute to wealth accumulation and financial security." From https://www.capitalone.com/learn-grow/money-management/what-is-generational-wealth/  KEY TAKEAWAYS Millennials are the first generation that is less financially successful than its predecessors in the US. They've faced the financial crisis of 2008, reduced work opportunities out of college, high college debts, and incredible increase in prices in the real estate market, and they're experiencing the spike in inflation just like we all are. A lot of opportunities for them to make investments to increase their wealth have either decreased or gone away entirely. How are they going to succeed moving forward? Who's coming after you? Generational wealth refers to financial assets that are passed down through families to children, grandchildren and beyond. Usually generational wealth is passed down through white families (88% of the people doing this are white men). I would love women and people of colour to start thinking about sending generational wealth down to the people coming after you, especially if it's not the norm for you or you've never even heard of it. Traditionally women haven't been in control of that stuff, but you need to start thinking about it. If you're going to become an executor on your parents' will there are some things you might need to line up, get information on and organise before they pass so that you're ready to execute their will when they do pass. Improving your financial literacy is definitely the first step, you need to understand budgeting, credit, savings and clearing debt. Create a budget. Once you've devised a budget that works for you, develop financial goals (personal and for generational wealth). When you've built your own wealth you can start to plan for leaving generational wealth by going back to your budget and putting more money aside for the people coming after you. This will take time. BEST MOMENTS‘For a lot of people, generational wealth means money. But they can also include investments like stock and bonds, property, art, intellectual property, or a stake in the family business.'‘If you want to pass on wealth to someone else you have to create it for yourself in this time that you have.'‘If you don't have things now, what could you create or manifest in your life so that when you do leave the Earth you do have things to pass on?'‘No financial plan is permanent, make changes when you need to.' How is giving evidence in court the same as driving a car? Michael Watson shares the similarities and how keeping your cool and knowing the court's rules will make you a better evidence-giver.   KEY TAKEAWAYS  As with learning to drive, giving evidence in court takes practice.  When driving a car, you have to be in complete control of your emotional state. The same is true for appearing in court.  Your ability to think is impaired when you're upset and annoyed. The behaviour of those questioning you in court is often intentionally irritating. You must focus on staying calm and keeping control. When giving evidence in court, know your starting point and destination, and plan your route there. Know the rules of the courts as you know the rules of the road.   BEST MOMENTS  “For those of you who are car drivers, do you remember how unfamiliar it felt when you first placed your hands on the steering wheel and tried to operate the car? At first, it takes a lot of effort, coordination, concentration, and time to drive a car. And you have to practice doing so repeatedly before you become familiar when behind the wheel. It's exactly the same with giving evidence or doing anything that's completely new to you. It takes a period of time and a lot of trial, effort and discomfort at first. Eventually, due to repetitive practice, you feel a greater degree of comfort and mastery over what the process entails.”   CONTACT METHODfamilycourtcoaching@gmail.com. Instagram: michael240656Linkedin    ABOUT THE HOST Michael Watson is a qualified social worker and author with over thirty years of experience working with children and families. As an expert in family court, Michael is in a key position to assist, advise, and coach parents through their private law family proceedings and provide them with the information and skills to represent themselves successfully in court. His two books, ‘How to Represent Yourself in Family Court', and ‘FAMILY COURT: Giving Evidence In Family Court', provide parents with a clearer understanding of family court proceedings, legislation, and parenting skills.

On this episode of the Lead With Purpose podcast host, Tze Ching Yeung talks to Jo Salter, an ethical fashion consultant who is committed to making the world a better place through her work about her journey through her career. KEY TAKEAWAYS My mother is a strong, Catholic, Irish woman, so through my  childhood there was this sense of doing what's right, morality, looking after other people, community and all those elements that were very important to me. From a young age I was involved in those kinds of discussions. At workplaces after graduating I was always doing fundraisers and daft things like abseiling down towers, doing parachute jumps, organising charity balls, etc.  I set up Where Does It Come From? In 2013 because I needed to know exactly, right back to the fields, what things were made of and who was making them. I had the idea to put a code on the clothing label so that customers can trace that right the way back, get to see pictures and hear stories about the people who were making them. If something isn't working you can come in and ask why they're doing it like that. There's an element of arrogance around entrepreneurship. When setting up Where Does It Come From? I was very much in the space of: the most important thing is to find out about the journey and find out about the people. I'd go and work with people mainly in India and Africa and talk about how they make things. When you talk to people in the fashion industry over here they'll say “people don't want that.” How do you know? Have you asked them? It's about challenging norms. I didn't see why no one had done it before, but I quickly realised that no one had done it because it's really hard. The advantage we had was being small and staring up, you can be much more agile. But to find the suppliers you could actually give me the information that I wanted was really tough. The first set that we worked with fell apart, both because they couldn't do what I wanted and I didn't have enough knowledge either. On LinkedIn I was introduced to the concept of Cardi, which is a fabric AND a philosophy of rural workers in India.  BEST MOMENTS ‘For various historical reasons there are some people living in other parts of the world that don't have the same opportunities as us and, to be really blunt, that's not fair and we have to share better.'"We don't know if we're dressing our kids in clothes made by other kids, that's really wrong.'‘It's about doing the right thing, but you're also trying to benefit other people as well.'‘20 years ago there was a sense of business is business, you don't have to question the morality of business decisions and business isn't meant to be fair. To me that's completely wrong, you can't say all's fair in business, it's just rubbish.' ABOUT THE GUEST Jo Salter founded the award winning ethical brand Where Does It Come From? in 2013 which has established ethical, transparent supply chains in India and Africa. With its goal to create ‘Kind Clothes that Tell Tales' following no-compromise ethics and sustainability criteria, the brand has been featured in major press and magazines including Forbes.  Where Does It Come From? is a truly innovative brand – the first in the UK (and maybe wider afield!) to add a code to garments so customers can trace the entire creation story. Jo is an ethical business consultant, speaker and writer, supporting others in their sustainability journey. She regularly features on radio BBC Radio Suffolk talking about sustainability and transparency, as well as other radio and BBC TV appearances.  In 2016 she set up Ethical Brands for Fashion Revolution as a community of ethical fashion brands campaigning for a better fashion industry. In 2018 she co-founded the Be The Change awards to provide a platform for new enterprises with a positive impact goal.  In 2019 she was invited by DEFRA to be a Year of Green Action ambassador. Scouting for Growth

On this episode of Scouting for Growth, Sabine VdL talks to Dylan Bourguignon, CEO of SO-SURE. He is on a mission to restore customer trust in insurance He has set up his digital insurance platform with a unique model that delivers win-win insurance. In this conversation, the pair discuss Dylan's journey setting up SO-SURE, why he moved into insurance, and how useful sales strategies and skills have been to scale the business. KEY TAKEAWAYS Having been an engineer twice over, I went into strategy consulting and then private equity for 10 years, and acquired an MBA on the way. In the latter part of my time in private equity, I was focused on insurance and I got to understand the entire value chain of insurance and how there was a chasm between the consumer experience of insurance and the margins the industry was making. As an investor, I was looking for businesses that were addressing the issue, sadly there weren't any so I decided to do it myself. Whenever you try to change the equation for consumers, if you just try to focus on a single element that matters to them, whether it's distribution, policy admin, or claims, as individual segments of the value chain, you're only optimizing a sub-optimal point. If you really want to have a step change in customer experience, you really have to take control of the entirety of the value chain and redesign it. That's what we've done.  Our platform does deliver a risk pooling model, it delivers a network model. Think about it as Mutual 3.0 (the next stage of a John Lewis Partnership model.) The idea is that I buy a policy, I'm covered, I can then connect to my friends and family who I trust, and every time I connect to them, I and my friends each get £10 added to each of our reward pots. We can all connect to as many people as we want until my reward pot is worth 80% of the value of my premium. At the end of the year, if I and my friends have not claimed, the money in my pot is paid out to me. My pot is not dependent on my friends' connections, only with those networks of people I connect directly with. Embedded insurance is a bit like "the emperor's new clothes." I feel that it is just like dressing up something that's been around for a long time. "Dixons" was selling insurance with laptops in the 90s already. The only difference is now the ability to make it part of the consumer experience when you purchase a product, as distribution partners you can also build a better understanding of their customers and you can use some of that information to provide a more relevant and bespoke solution for the customers in terms of the insurance. There are all sorts of charges that the industry needs to be mindful of. Think about the issue of over-insurance. If you insure for loss/ theft/ damage for every single item that you own – a couch for example – is that not covered by your home and content insurance already? The solution that we're creating for consumers needs to be relevant and we also need to be delivering through an impeccable moment of truth -- a superb claim experience -- that needs to be as seamless as the purchase itself.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For us at SO-SURE, we needed to gain control of the customer experience from purchase to claim. What you quickly realize is that there's no way of fundamentally changing the paradigm for consumers unless you have control over the entire value chain – policy admin, claims, distribution.'‘Consumers don't trust the promise that when things go wrong their back is going to be covered. Unfortunately, this is broken. Nobody has the consumer's best interest at the heart of what they are doing. We've addressed all those issues in our redesign of the consumer experience. It's so critical to focus on what the customer's experience is going to be when they claim and how it can be a good experience.'‘Win-win means amazing if you need us. Our insurance products are incredibly competitive, up to 40% cheaper than our competition, it's very clear and written for consumers, and when you claim we fulfill the claims within 24-72 hours, 10 times faster than the competition. If you do not claim you get rewards (95% of people don't claim on insurance.) If so you can get up to 80% of your money back if you and your friends in your pool don't claim. What's not to love?'‘Be yourself and don't stop believing.' ABOUT THE GUEST Dylan Bourguignon is on a mission to restore consumer trust in insurance. He has developed a digital Insurer with a unique model that delivers win-win insurance based on a social business model that rewards the customer for great behavior. With 10 years of private equity investing and business development experience across a broad spectrum of industries (i.e., consumer, media, industrial, and financial services). In this episode, Kenneth sits down with Professor William Ristenpart who is the director of The UC Davis Coffee Center to discuss the efforts that are being made to engineer a better cup of coffee. They discuss how the industry is working to reduce the level of waste generated and make better use of the byproducts. Currently, humans only consume around 3% of the coffee cherries that are harvested. That is why the industry is exploring new ways to use those waste materials, as well as working to enhance the fermentation and roasting processes so that less energy is consumed. KEY TAKEAWAYS A huge amount of engineering goes into taking coffee from its picked state and turning it into beans for export. Around 50% of the coffee cherry mass is discarded in the form of the cascara (fruit pulp) and parchment. Yet, that cascara waste can be used to make a tasty drink and a nice jelly. Every day in America, about 22 million pounds of spent coffee grounds are generated. Engineering during the fermentation and roasting processes can be used to get more flavor out of the beans. At UC Davis they run a competition that challenges students to make a great coffee using the least amount of energy and materials possible. BEST MOMENTS ‘For every 100 pounds of coffee cherries that are harvested, humans actually consume about 3 pounds of it. ´ ‘You could say that is 97% waste or you could say that is 97% opportunity.' ‘We are just trying to make everything better for everybody and the environment along the chain.' In this episode, Rob Austin, from SME Skills, and Joel have an in-depth chat about the sales function of a business. They tackle sales stereotypes and how to ask powerful, authentic questions in your sales process.  They discuss why every business needs a sales process, why you are not the main character in your prospects' story and why getting a "no" is still a result. As well as how to take the fear out of picking up the phone. They also explain how to trick Jordan Belfort into buying his own pen and much more besides…   KEY TAKEAWAYS Most people think about the act of making a sale negatively. Marketing does not have that stigma.  There is no point in marketing if you don't follow through and make sales. To sell effectively you must get your mindset right. How to do that is discussed in the episode. You must 100% understand what you are doing. That is only possible through practice. Don't wing it. When selling, give people options that will genuinely get them to where they want or need to be. You must care and genuinely want to deliver for the prospective client. Realness is essential, people know when you are not being genuine and react badly when you try to deceive them. What differentiates unsung heroes from other heroes is that some people do heroic acts or acts that deserve recognition as a duty or an obligation, but for unsung heroes it's a necessity. They serve, and it's never calculated and there's never an expectation of a return. There is one example that comes to mind from the pandemic. There were people from less developed countries carrying vaccines on their back to take them to people who didn't have access to them. Nobody asked these people to do that but they felt responsible to ensure that people in their community had access to the vaccine, they provided that safety, that's a heroic act, to walk miles carrying the vaccine or water to ensure that people are safe and healthy. Unsung heroes don't fear disapproval or speaking up for what they stand for, they don't run away in the face of conflict. They are willing to put in limitless amounts of time, including sleepless nights in order to undertake that particular effort. They put others before themselves. This can be nurtured and something that can be developed over time if we really have the resolve to do something. The values of a would-be unsung hero are: a very strong idea of ethics and morality, always wanting to do the right thing, determination, passion and conviction, courage, determination, standing up for what is wrong, outspoken and moral. BEST MOMENTS ‘For some people it's part of their makeup, who they are. But others may have gone through a downturn in their life and as a result they start reflecting on how they could be of service and how they can make a difference and they go through a transformation journey that leads them to serve their community without expectation.' ‘Any unsung hero is delivering actions selflessly in the service of community/the world on the basis of necessity and they expect nothing in return.' ‘For unsung heroes there is a sense of courage, ownership or responsibility that plays in. There is a sense of belief, faith, perseverance, and resolve to solve something. Without those components not everyone can be an unsung hero.' ‘They are role models using themselves and their personalities to make a difference.' In this episode, Kenneth sits down with Rob Hoos of Iteration Coffee and Hoos Coffee Consulting. He is a coffee roasting consultant who has visited numerous coffee farms during his career. Today, he provides insight into what modern coffee farming is like. Rob speaks about the different coffee farming business models he has seen. Everything from harvesting coffee from wild bushes to running huge heavily mechanized farms. They also discuss some of the challenges the farmers face. Including dealing with diseases, and pests and gaining and maintaining organic certification. As well as talking about the challenge of making sure that those who work in the industry are not exploited by having to work long hours for little pay. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many coffee farmers still run small farms. Some even pick it from wild trees. In places, farmers take small batches of coffee to a central processing point or a co-operative facility. There are also large-scale, highly mechanized farms in every country. In many areas, people are still working for little pay. Specialty coffee is helping to change that. Fighting disease and pests is expensive and can negatively impact the quality of the product. Naturally dried coffee has a nicer flavor profile.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For example, harvesting coffee in Ethiopia where they don´t even necessarily own the trees. ´ ‘Specialty coffee …. saves coffee farmers by giving them better pricing.' ‘Coffee is actually more nuanced than wine.'   EPISODE RESOURCES Iteration Coffee: http://iteration.coffee/ Hoos Coffee: http://hoos.coffee/ Contact Rob of Hoos Coffee: rob@hoos.coffee Angel´s Cup Coffee: https://angelscup.com/   VALUABLE RESOURCES Award-winning single-origin specialty coffee:https://umblecoffee.com/   You're disciplined and high achieving. Welcome to The Sensational Kids Show, a podcast all about empowering kids and the adults who raise them, care for them and teach them. This podcast is for all those parents who want their children to thrive, to succeed and simply not to have to struggle with what seems to come so easily to other kids their age. It is for anyone caring for a child with any range or level of additional needs. In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing a little bit about my own journey and passion and reasons for launching the podcast. KEY TAKEAWAYS Through occupational therapy, a child’s core skills are able to develop. A child doesn’t need to have a diagnosis to require extra help with their development but focused therapy will enable them to become more independent and successful. Parents want to connect with their kids and feel peace of mind that their kids will be okay. But far too often parents and teachers can’t get the answers they want for their children to thrive and succeed. The most important thing is to be independent, to make your own choices and to be able to do what you want through your own chaotic parenting journey. The success in your children’s development comes from connecting, understanding their goals and abilities and knowing they are so that you can navigate through life together. There's no way to prepare yourself for having a child. As a first-time parent, you might not pick up on any anomalies or difficulties until your child reaches the age of four. BEST MOMENTS "For many of the kids I work with they don't qualify for a diagnosis.” “Parents and teachers can't get answers and all they want is for their children to be happy, to thrive, to succeed.” “Success for me means being kind, giving back and engaging. It means my children being able to contribute to their community in whatever way they can to achieve goals and be contented.” VALUABLE RESOURCES CONTACT METHODwww.instagram.com/aniesabblore/ www.instagram.com/sensationalkidstherapyuk/ www.facebook.com/sensationalkidslondon ABOUT THE HOST Aniesa completed her degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Stellenbosch, in South Africa. She has worked across a range of pediatric fields and has extensive experience in autism, specific learning difficulties, as well as anxiety and emotional regulation. Aniesa has one teenage son with autism, and one with sensory difficulties. She herself was diagnosed at a late age as having ADHD and has found that understanding her neurodivergence has led to a greater connection with children and their parents. Paul is joined by Lyn Smith who is back on the podcast for the third time to talk about life's purpose, why are we here and what burns inside us that we need to achieve? Lyn turns host and fires questions back at Paul on this subject as well as answering his questions of her.   KEY TAKEAWAYS When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents come alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be. It's fulfilling to work towards something bigger than ourselves, whether that's with your immediate family or your local community, your local region, your nation or something on a more global/international scale. It's about thinking about the legacy that comes off the back of touching another person or another thing's life. I've come to understand that, after not being able to end my life at the age of thirteen and a half, I came out with the awareness that I'm here to fight for the underdog. I didn't understand what it meant at that age, but I wanted to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves… which got me in a lot of trouble over the years. My purpose has evolved from that, the fire burns stronger than ever but as I've grown older I've gained the experience and wisdom to control my energy to where I can make the most impact.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For those who think they don't have a passion or a purpose, there are different ways to uncover that. You may just have to try a number of things before you find it.' ‘Simply smiling at a stranger could inspire them not to take their life that day. But you may not ever know that you've done that. Little gestures, or random acts of kindness, can become daily habits.' ‘My purpose has evolved and burns stronger than ever' ‘We all have six human needs that must be met in a self-empowering way, not a dis-empowering way and it's the same for our purpose: To influence life for the better.'   VALUABLE RESOURCES Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Paul's Story: Emerging From The Forest (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Emerging-Forest-Pain-Purpose-Mastering/dp/1719373272 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Mastering The Game Of Life Book (USA): https://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Game-Life-Paul-Lowe/dp/1782227679 Speaking From Our Hearts Books: Volumes 1-3 (Available on Amazon) World Game-Changers Group   ABOUT THE GUEST Lyn is a world-renowned & respected Relationship Transformation Expert and author of the #1 best-selling book, 'The Cupid's Bow Technique'. They are giving investors exposure to commodities such as cobalt, copper, nickel, vanadium, and uranium. Marc has a banking and international finance background and has been with Anglo Pacific for the past 8 years. He talks about the company, his new role as the CEO, and explains the strong ESG principles that underlie their investment strategy.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Anglo Pacific is focused on making investments that are going to help achieve net-zero climate change objectives. In just 8 years, the business has switched from mainly producing coke to focusing on green revolution metals. By 2026, the portfolio will be completely coal-free. The Anglo Pacific team has decades of experience of the royalty and streaming business models. 2022 is expected to be the firm's biggest year yet. Cash flow has improved drastically, which will enable them to move fast. Anglo Pacific´s cobalt transaction relates to cobalt produced in a mine that has the lowest carbon footprint. The vanadium they produce is used to strengthen steel, which means less of it is needed. Something that reduces carbon emissions, overall. The nickel Anglo Pacific produces has an extremely low carbon footprint.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For every investment that we make going forward, fundamentally our objective is to make the world a better place for our children and our grandchildren. ´ ‘We recorded record revenues for 2021.' ‘We have an exceptional amount of momentum, and the business has been completely transformed.'   EPISODE RESOURCES Dig Deep episode with Julian Treger of Anglo Pacific: https://omny.fm/shows/dig-deep-the-mining-podcast/the-vision-for-the-future-with-julian-treger Website: https://www.anglopacificgroup.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/anglo-pacific-group-plc/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/AngloPacificPLC Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AngloPacificGroup/   VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: rob@mining-international.org Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theminingpodcast/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos   ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. In this episode, we speak to Krishan Gopaul, Senior Research Analyst at the World Gold Council. He discusses what happened with Gold Demand Trends in 2021 and in more current times, the Gold Market outlook for 2022, and what the Gold market expects. KEY TAKEAWAYS In 2021, the jewellery, technology, and motoring sectors recovered, so demand for gold was strong from them. The Indian jewellery market was especially interesting. Demand from banks was high. Krishan explains why and which ones bought the most. Inflation is leading to consumers investing in gold coins. Krishan shares the figures and the story behind that. But high ETF outflows dragged down the overall investment level. For ETFs, there are currently very strong competing forces at play, which makes it hard to predict what will happen. In January, inflows into ETFs were strong. Krishan explains why, during the podcast. For mining, the picture was mixed. Krishan talks through which jurisdictions were up and which were down and explains why. Most supply issues have been resolved. So far, higher demand for cryptocurrencies has not really impacted demand levels for gold. The dynamics for gold, during 2022, are likely to be similar to 2021.    BEST MOMENTS ‘For gold ETFs, we saw outflows of about 173 tonnes, which was the first outflows for a couple of years. ´ ‘We saw about 463 tonnes of gold demand from central banks, last year, that 82% higher.' ‘Gold will face very similar dynamics in 2022 as it did in 2021.'   EPISODE RESOURCES Website: https://goldhub.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/KrishanGopaul   VALUABLE RESOURCES Email: rob@mining-international.org Website: https://www.mining-international.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theminingpodcast/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast/videos   ABOUT THE HOST Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. Fire in The Belly

Elizabeth Batalla has a thoughtful approach to life which shapes and guides who she is today, and how she acts in the world. As a successful corporate star, she learned the tips of what makes people successful, and when she was ready, she made the transition to become a full-time mentor to other women through her own company. In her conversation with Mighty Pete, she shares with him and the audience the small and crucial interactions that changed her life and started her on this new path, her experience in the business world, how she developed her holistic approach to wellness, and how her vision encompasses both the Japanese concept of ikigai as well as common-sense, Western approaches to organization and goal setting.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Each person in the world has dreams that are unique to them, and you shouldn't let anyone talk you out of achieving what you want in life. Small steps forward, being organized about what you want, and working with and not against yourself can get you farther than you realize.  Health and success should be measured holistically, but we do not have to hustle to accomplish everything every day. Aim to check in with yourself about your goals a few times a week and you should have both the space and the structure to make real gains.  Trust the feedback that people give you when they have nothing to gain from the interaction. Look for those moments in your career and your personal relationships, they don't have to be momentous.  Similarly, you won't one day just wake up and live the life of your dreams. You can add one new habit to your daily routine and slowly transform yourself over time.    BEST MOMENTS  “For a truly happy life I do believe in a holistic approach, but I don't want people to feel ‘oh my goodness, this is so much. How do I get all these areas to line up?' and what I would say about that is, it's not that you are doing these things every day…if you have that touch point along all those nine areas for, say, a week, you'll be okay.”  “The inspiration is being able to make a real, real difference in people's lives. Through the programs that I offer, through interacting with me, just being able to make that difference in someone's life…I genuinely don't like to see people in discomfort. … The fuel for me is to help people switch on that ‘a-ha' moment.” “I had enough savings where I could step away from my corporate world without damaging my standard of living – of course I had to cut back on certain things, because I used the money in my savings to invest in the business and get things started and to give me traction to be able to work full-time on it, but I didn't just walk away with no plan. I didn't want to build my business from a place of desperation.”  “Just start. I say that because there's so much out there, there are so many people with amazing talent, and they are either scared to start, or there is always something that prevents them from starting. Small, consistent steps can make a great change in someone's life. Start where you are, use what you have, and do the best you can, but just start.”    ABOUT THE GUEST  Elizabeth Batalla worked in the corporate sector for over 30 years, cultivating her niche in consulting until March 2020, when she realized that she was ready to start her own business, helping others to achieve their professional and personal goals. The Institute for Achievement and Excellence was born. Through the Institute, Elizabeth offers one-on-one mentorship and curated courses to help specifically women to identify their goals and create detailed plans to actualize them. Through her experience, she developed a nine-point system of checking in with oneself, in areas such as physical health, career, relationships, and spirituality, with the reason that one is only truly healthy when one is living a balanced, holistic life. Paola Diana is a successful entrepreneur, best-selling author and female rights activist. She embarked on a political journey after studying Political Science and Institutional Relations in her home country of Italy, where she joined the political campaign of former Prime Minister Romano Prodi. Paola currently lives in London, having founded Artermide Recruitment, which specialises in sourcing childcare, household staff and personal assistants for high net worth individuals.  She is the bestselling author of ‘Saving the World. Women: the XXI's Century Factor for Change' and a prominent activist and philanthropist for women's rights especially in the problem areas of domestic violence and women's safety. Paola and Nataliya talk about her abusive childhood and how it influences her choices in adulthood, her political beliefs and her ideas on the best path for modern women. To allow more stories to be heard with no filters and no hypocrisy, she has become the executive producer and host of the highly inspiring YouTube show and Apple Podcast: ‘Unleashed. The Game Changers'. Paola also has a huge appreciation for interior design and takes the listeners through her beautiful home, describing the inspirational artists whose work she displays in her house, and candidly shares her aspirations for the future.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Paola grew up in a patriarchal and conservative family. She  had to find the courage to speak up. Believing in yourself and your value is the most important thing. Her childhood was dominated by her father who was very controlling. She found her strength with friends outside her home and became independent as young as possible by pursuing her education. When creating her own family Paola uses communication and non violence to avoid a dominating and controlling environment.  No one should stay in an unhappy or dangerous marriage. A marriage can be good if you find someone who treats you like an equal but if you don't find that its better for a woman to be on her own. There is still a huge amount of stigma around divorced women and single women. Women should feel free and valued if they are not in a relationship. The #metoo movement despite its flaws has broken the cycle of silence and violence and allowed women to speak up disempowering men who abuse their dominant position. Paola's experience in her early political career made her realise how polarised to the fringes of power and influence women are and encouraged her to write her book. Paola trains in Brazilian Jujitsu to keep fit and competes. She suggests it to all women for its self defence component.     BEST MOMENTS ‘For me you represent modern women of today, you are independent, successful and highly confident.' ‘Usually in families big dramas can come from small things because everything starts from control.' ‘I think family comes first before everything else.' ‘It's the same as in the past in Italy with the Mafia. In this episode, Zoe speaks with Nina Willer, a diabetes specialist midwife and a type 1 diabetic herself. Nina opens up about her own journey to conceive, including her struggles with infertility and delves deep into the implications of diabetes in pregnancy and motherhood.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Nina met her husband at work in a surf shop before she became a midwife and now it has gone full circle and they work together again! Nina developed her diabetes when she was 21, having looked at a lot of research she believes that the cause was an already existing pre-disposition to diabetes and then a parasite that made her ill after travelling in Ghana, was the trigger. When Nina and her husband decided they wanted to start trying for a baby, Nina had to make a pre-conception plan due to her type 1 diabetes. They then began starting to conceive but after not falling pregnant they went for fertility testing and started on 6 months of Clomid. Nina and her husband had their first cycle of IVF, they were very open about this and told everyone as they wanted to have people behind them to support them in their fertility journey. But sadly, by day 5 the fertilised eggs hadn't developed as they should but were still advised to have them implanted which did not result in a pregnancy. They learnt a lot from the first cycle and went ahead and had a second fresh cycle, on day 3 the fertilised eggs were still developing, they froze one egg and inserted two, but the two inserted did not result in a pregnancy again. On the third fresh IVF cycle, the eggs stopped developing on day three again. It was a really hard time for Nina and her husband, it was their third and final cycle. They decided to still have these eggs impanted but were told they would not result in a pregnancy. Nina and her husband knew they needed to take a break from IVF, so they went away and started to focus on other things. But, miraculously they became pregnant from their third an final cycle. They still expected this pregnancy to end in miscarriage but incredibly it didn't and this pregnancy is no Nina's five year old! The pregnancy wasn't straight forward due to Nina's type 1 diabetes but she was looked after incredible well and she had her healthy baby at 36 weeks via planned C-section. In 2019, Nina and her husband wanted to try again for another baby so decided to try a frozen cycle of IVF. It was an experience Nina found very difficult, she calls it the worst IVF experience she had and sadly it didn't work. Several months later, they had stopped trying to get pregnant so were very surprised to find that after trying for 10 years they were pregnant! They had their miracle baby , delivered by one of their closest friends, 9 months later!   BEST MOMENTS “For a while I was a little bit angry at the diabetes stuff” “We did six months of Clomid and that's a really hopeful time for a lot of people as you suddenly think, I'm making eggs and I'm making loads of them!” “We're so lucky, the NHS has treated us very, very well” “One of the many things I find fascinating about type 1 Diabetes is that the glucose levels can tell us a lot about what's going on” “It felt like I was having a miscarriage in a way, I had known that embryo for 5 years, that was my other child”    VALUABLE RESOURCES www.petalscharity.org www.tommys.org www.arc-uk.org www.sands.org.uk   ABOUT THE GUEST Nina Willer @willerz_house   ABOUT THE HOST Zoe Cresswell Devoted mother of two (and a big hairy dog), UK trained midwife, doula and personal trainer, specialising in pre and postnatal fitness. Zoe was born in the UK and before moving to Dubai in 2013 and worked as a midwife in central London, both in a birth centre and a very busy NHS hospital. Although late to the scene, Zoe is an aspiring athlete having won numerous triathlons and representing Great Britain where she placed within the top 10 on the world stage. With her husband James, the couple will soon be launching their cloth nappy company, Bop & Bee, where they hope to inspire families to swap a few disposable nappies a day for the more planet friendly option of cloth. Zoe's goal is to share her knowledge and experience, tell real life stories, manage expectations and open up those often difficult conversations. Listen in to an action-packed episode of Conquer New Markets as Levent is joined by international sales and marketing consultant Kathryn Read. Together, they dive into international growth and the tools and tactics needed to expand into emerging markets. KEY TAKEAWAYS Going global for international growth is rewarding for most companies and when you look at the statistics from the US commercial service, US companies who export are likely to be 17% more profitable than companies who stay domestically. Within Europe, it's normal and quite easy to expand internationally. A big mistake companies often make is they lack self-awareness about their own motivation and about the company. They haven't experienced the journey of growth and therefore expansion can be quite risky because sometimes companies then expand on the basis of a whim. The first mistake is self-awareness the second mistake is a real laser-sharp strategic focus. Profitably into China is a different matter to selling into China and having a good turnover in China. Companies often underestimate the complexity of doing business, how sophisticated the consumer is, and how advanced the market is. Companies have to decide how success looks for them in an overseas market. Examples of this can be looking to increase revenue or aiming to take the pressure off your domestic market by applying pressure on a competitor in an overseas market or you may be looking to extend the product life of your service which is maybe no longer relevant in your home market, but you might find it is somewhere else in the world where the market is less advanced. BEST MOMENTS “For most medium and smaller sized companies looking to expand internationally, they need to be looking for a sales partner.“ “Everyone's global journey is different. Each client is unique and so some of them need more support on one part and some of them need more support on different aspects of their business.” “For smaller countries, there's a motivation to expand internationally.” “The biggest markets in literal terms and maybe not the best markets to enter into.” “Sometimes you need to look at expansion with a blue ocean approach and if you're inexperienced and don't want to make product modifications right away look at established markets as a shop window.” VALUABLE RESOURCES https://kathrynread.com/international-clarity CONTACT METHOD Linkedin:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/leventyildizgoren/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/yildizgoren IG: https://www.instagram.com/leventyildizgoren/ ABOUT THE HOST Levent Yildizgoren, the author of 'Good Business in any Language', is an award-winning entrepreneur, localisation professional and a PRINCE2 qualified project manager. Working with a good mentor means Carl is learning how to play a bigger game and grow and in this episode, he shares how this really is the game-changer.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Lots of people feel their education ends when they start a job I'm constantly learning and going on courses but didn't see it as education Kickboxing for me has never been a business it's just what I love doing Learning about business has been a game-changer Being part of the Mastermind group and discussing business with other like-minded people is what has made a difference The power of being around people who are further along in their journey has really helped me play a bigger game and grow the business We've moved the business and grown in size My mentor is a life coach helping me to be a better me. Married, father of two beautiful daughters, Bethany and Leigha.  My daughters, the wife, and gym ARE MY LIFE. IF I'M HONEST, I pretty much failed at school. Heavily dyslexic, I was dismissed for being a “naughty kid” that didn't want to learn. I was heavily bullied for having shit clothes and ginger afro hair. I didn't have many friends.  When I say bullied I don't mean called a “poo-poo head” and being looked at in a nasty way. I mean thrown downstairs, and hit with chairs and tables. Clothes were stolen whilst in the shower. That kind of bullying… Oh, how things have changed…  Martial arts, and specifically Kickboxing, have changed my life, and now I am much happier and change other people's lives for the better on a daily basis.  I am a complete adrenaline freak, so In my spare time, track days, jumping out of planes, sitting on top of them, rage buggies in the desert… The higher, the faster the better for me. I'm always looking for the next thing to get my blood pumping, so if anyone has a challenge I've not found yet, please feel free to share.  I do like a Saturday night movie night, Chinese, Netflix, lots of chocolate with my three little ladies. I love being around my friends and family. This is why I love the crazy HKA family so much, as this is my extended family.    I left school with pretty much nothing! A few sad GCSE's C - D grade, BUT I did have a shit-ton of energy and passion to achieve and to prove all the teachers and people that looked down on me for all those years, wrong. So, after a few jobs here and there, I settled on working for Openreach (BT) as a cabler/jointer copper and fibre optic multi-skilled engineer with HGV. I left this in 2015 to chase my dream of running my own Kickboxing Academy and working with the future of today, rather than a job that just paid the bills.  I've trained pretty much my whole life: Karate, boxing, Judo, from the age of 9, and of course, I've now done over 29 years of Kickboxing. I've passed many Instructors and coaches courses, attended many training courses and seminars, grading up through the syllabus. I passed my 4-hour hell-on-earth 3rd Dan black belt in July 2018 with the ICO. If I'm honest my real passion and skills have come from learning the hard way; through being in the trenches. I know how it feels to be on your arse. I know how it feels to have to pull yourself out of the pit. I've been through a divorce. I've lived through the pain and have worked with thousands of members, students, children, teachers and adults over the years, and the one thing I get told every time is how well I/we keep it very real, and that I have a complete understanding on most eventualities.  Thank you for reading and listening. I hope you connect with myself and the team, take away some ideas, understand you're not alone, and that it's good to talk, listen and help others as and when you can.                                                        See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bringing together the value proposition, the go-to-market plan, the technology and operations along with a cash flow formula are all elements that need to work together dynamically and Tom and Nick discuss all things startup and share great examples in this informative episode that is a must-listen for any entrepreneur.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Finding ideas and validating the concept is the first stage for any business followed by bringing together all the resources required An entrepreneur is someone who pursues an idea without all the resources initially Resource mobilisation and exploring the opportunity go side by side When you have a product-market then you can start to scale Big company people in start-ups can interrupt the rhythm Entrepreneurs can be so focused on getting ahead they skip the up-front market research. Customer discovery before you engineer the product is a better approach Your success with early adopters of your product may not be replicated with mainstream customers Every entrepreneur needs early adopters but mainstream customers will require marketing spend. If you are in an industry that requires expertise you need to make sure you or someone in your team has the expertise necessary. Make sure you do the upfront research and be aware that the success with early adopters may not be indicative of a mainstream customer. One of the hardest decisions as an entrepreneur is knowing when to shut down If the odds of turning it around are increasingly small and you aren't enjoying it then it's time to shut down gracefully. Having failed you can learn from the experience and move forward.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For some people, an idea will just pop into their minds for those there is a search' ‘In a start-up, you have to make things happen' ‘Entrepreneurs are often like Peter Pan and don't want to grow up'   VALUABLE RESOURCES Scale Up Your Business – scaleup.vip/podcast Join the free Scale Up Your Business community: scaleup.vip/community Take the Six Peaks of Value Creation Scorecard, to measure your current business performance and show you where to focus to get to where you want to be: https://scaleup.vip/sixpeaks          The Fail-Safe Startup - Tom Eisenmann       ABOUT THE HOST   My name is Nick Bradley. What you have been told is no longer true! You used to be told that you have to give out free content every day for years and then you might find success, this has been the narrative for so long. But the world has changed, listen in today to find out why and what you should be doing instead.     KEY TAKEAWAYS   We are now in the dawn of the creator, the big old media powerhouses no longer have the immense power they did. Print, TV and radio used to control the narrative and choose what we consumed. This is changing. The start-up, creator and entrepreneur can reach dozens of different types of clients in different industries fast and for free. The social media platforms now need you. There are ways to get greater engagement and to hack the algorithms on each platform. You can gain reach on multiple channels and then monetise them! You need to have omnipresence. This is manageable by repurposing content for use across all platforms.   People can invest in you, they can buy a piece of you in the same way you buy real estate. It's the greatest time to be a creator, entrepreneur, marketer, consultant, coach, speaker and anything else where you are the brand and create.   Ensure you are leveraging the audio content revolution. Podcasts have incredible reach right now and are only getting bigger. People can listen to audio, whether that be via a podcast or something like clubhouse, whilst doing something else. This means they consume so much more than something they have to be completely engaged in like a youtube video.       BEST MOMENTS   “For the first time ever they are competing for you instead of you for them”   “Are you leveraging the decentralisation of power and media and control?”   “We are in the greatest opportunity of the creator economy”   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter https://robmoore.com/podbooks     ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Listen in today to hear more about what they are, how you can start to get involved and what the future holds for the digital currency and art revolution.     KEY TAKEAWAYS NFTs are Non-fungible tokens. They are almost a digital signature, like the creators signature but in the form of a token. The great thing about NFTs at the moment is that as an original creator you will continue to receive royalties even if your art is sold on and it will always be visible that you were the creator. Anyone can mint and tokenise some art/asset right now. It creates so much opportunity for unknown artists. Jesse sees a lot of skeptics but also sees a vast amount of opportunities, especially for artists to make a living. There are people out there calling NFTs a scam, but Jesse thinks this couldn't be further from the truth. Yes there have been some overpriced pieces but now the market is starting to correct itself and stabilising. We have seen this kind of thing before, such as in the housing market! Similar to equity in housing, people have made a lot of money with the digital revolution so far without having to put in much ‘graft'. This doesn't make it a bad thing but can cause people to react negatively to its success. Jesse also points out that although some people are ‘lucky' there is also a lot of time and research that goes into these kinds of investments. The decentralisation of media is happening, power is shifting from bigger companies to the individuals. Social media channels and platforms are now starting to compete for the creators. It's possible for any creator to find success. You can start small, in the beginning it's important to create, create, create and to interact with your fans and communities. You can NFT anything. Even a book, you would have pictures of your book and mint them. You could decide whether you would just want that to be a paragraph or the entire book.   NFTs and Crypto are unregulated. These things are decentralised for a reason, the moment a government tries to get involved it completely changes its worth.   Jesse believes the future of money is the replacement of field currency, to be replaced by crypto. People are waking up, currently big banks control the world, but he sees things changing. Ben Steele-Turner is a physiotherapist and associate nutritionist and in this episode discusses what a healthy diet consists of along with the impact of macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients in supporting the essential functions of the body. When a recovery plan and a healthy eating plan are combined recovery is better supported and you are providing your body with the tools it needs to move forwards and Ben shares great content on what makes a healthy diet and why.   KEY TAKEAWAYS If you have a healthy diet then blood flow will be better. It's about giving the body the tools it needs, are your cells happy, do they have what they need? The building blocks for a healthy diet are - Macro-nutrients – proteins are needed for muscle, bone, haemoglobin and immune cells. Carbohydrates – energy and fuel for cells throughout the day. Dietary fats – for cell activity and hormone activity Micro-nutrients are the vitamins and minerals you need. It's important to have enough of each micro-nutrient Healthy fats are essential for good health and can be split into saturated and unsaturated fats. Ideally, saturated fats should make up no one than 10% of your diet. Seeds, nuts and avocados are all sources of healthy unsaturated fats An Omega 3 supplement can be taken if you are eating less than the required amount of fruit and vegetables With chronic conditions moving to a more plant-based diet is important in conjunction with the avoidance of highly processed foods.   BEST MOMENTS ‘For your general health sugar intake should be limited' ‘It's about everything being in harmony' ‘When you have exercise help and also have help with healthy eating you are in a better position to self-manage'   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Back Pain Podcast The Back Pain Podcast recommended products affiliate link Physiutrition Instagram   ABOUT THE HOSTS Dave Elliot Dave is the owner of Advanced Chiropractic, a chain of Chiropractic and massage therapy clinics in Essex, UK. The nation's most beloved couple, Kevin and Stacey Dooley, join forces this week to talk about their adventures in self-isolation, and more importantly why pro-wrestling really needs to be recognised as the influential theatrical art-form it is...   KEY TAKEAWAYS Wrestling should be seen as live theatre. It involves choreography, story-telling and showmanship. It's remarkably similar to the format of dance in terms of entertainment and spectacle. One of the most common misconceptions about wrestling is that the fans believe it's real. Only the very young believe that a wrestling match is a sporting event. The true fans know that it is entertainment. Even the greatest showmen in other fields, such as boxing and reality TV, all pay tribute to the effect that wrestling has had upon the art of entertainment. Pro-wrestling has had a remarkable influence on every type of entertainment, even in the ways in which we ourselves choose to offer a scripted, crafted version of our lives for the world through social media. Due to quarantine, audiences are noticeably missing from wrestling events. Technically it works, but much of the energy is missing. Even performance-based shows such as Strictly Come Dancing are very different experiences without the feedback from an audience. BEST MOMENTS ‘For me, wrestling is the original and highest form of art and theatre' ‘It's really cool to be unapologetically yourself' 'Wrestling is Shakespearean!' ‘Without wrestling you have no Muhammad Ali. Without wrestling you have no The Only Way Is Essex' ‘My wrestling name would be The Grim-sby Reaper' VALUABLE RESOURCES The Kevin Clifton Show - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-kevin-clifton-show/id1475650764 Stacey Dooley Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/sjdooley/?hl=en   ABOUT THE HOST Kevin Clifton is a professional dancer who has been performing & competing at the highest level for over a decade. On today's episode, Peter talks about his extensive experience in the industry and his incredibly varied and successful career. He shares some of this thoughts and advice on business growth and focus as well as discusses successful marketing strategies that could benefit other industry professionals. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Considering and planning for your exit strategy is important, mergers and acquisitions are only part of the story. Management buy outs and management buy ins, although less frequent, should be considered. To be a successful broker, you need to be extremely client focused and have a sense over protecting your clients. Marketing and branding is really important. Having a clear, creative and appealing marketing campaign is bound to make your business successful. It's important to work on your business rather than solely working in your business. Having a strategy around this helps you to focus on what really works. Taking external advice as a broker is extremely beneficial. BEST MOMENTS: “For an MBO to be successful, the owner has to be really keen for the MBO to happen. if you own a small broker, you will get more money by selling your business to a third party than you would do by selling it to your management team.” “The best people to run a small brokerage are people who are client people. This is because we're all here to fundamentally look after clients as well as sell business. What better person to run a broker than someone that is focused on clients?” ‘'Marketing is the fundamental force behind your business plan.'' ‘'There is a big danger in that people will go online and buy rubbish cover cheaply and think they're protected then they find out they're not when something goes horribly wrong. I think there is a massive role for brokers in protecting people. Brokers are bound by the importance of advice.'' How you deal with your failures will predict your outcomes. If you mishandled a situation, most likely, it would become challenging to minimize the repercussions that it will bring to the next mission. So, in this episode of The Speed Mentor Podcast, Gavan urges you that if you want success, know how to cope with your failures properly. Yes, these experiences will be incredibly painful, but if you ready yourself for them by having the right mindset, being adaptable, and setting up a reliable system in your business, then they will be surely manageable. It will also help if you put into mind that it is not only you who will be affected by the setbacks but also the people around you. KEY TAKEAWAYS You can tell how far an individual can go in his journey to success on how he deals with his losses. Successful people are more resilient and more resourceful. They know how to weather the storm, and they come back stronger. Gavan's concern as he was haemorrhaging money: What's the reputational damage to him? What was the deficit to the local area if the business closes? What's the position concerning the staff? What will be the effect on the landlord and suppliers? Think of the consequences and the people who will be affected if you don't know how to deal with the failures. It isn't just you who's on the playing field. It will be a domino effect; as soon as you're making progress, they're benefitting. BEST MOMENTS “For me, when we're thinking about creating an environment where failure can become a learning process very quickly rather than a full stop, it's really important how you feel so the failure doesn't define you in the long term.” “Business failure and loss is an inevitable outcome in any capitalist or market-based economy.” “Ask yourself #WhatWouldGavanDo, and you'll have the right answer.” VALUABLE RESOURCES More info on Speed Mentor Retreat (May 18-19, 2019) at com ABOUT THE HOST Welcome to the Speed Mentor Podcast. If you're not yet part of the Progressive Property Community click here to join now. KEY TAKEAWAYS Questions from the Progressive Property community What is the best and worst pieces of advice you've received on your property journey? Well, when I was working full time I read a Joe Carbo a classic self-help book called The Lazy Man's Ways To Riches. This book helped me understand there were other ways of doing things, and as a result, I started to explore my entrepreneurial side. So the best piece of advice I've received was ‘To realise that things didn't have to be done the traditional way' and I could go off and do my own thing and leave the 9-5. It gave me the freedom to embrace entrepreneurship and to get out there and start doing it. The worst piece of advice is ‘To Be Careful' we don't need to be cautious and not take risks, don't be reckless but equally, you need to take action, and this can mean not being careful.   How do you find a good mortgage broker? You should definitely be using a mortgage broker. It's far easier than raising finance yourself by going straight to the bank. A good broker is worth their fees because they will help you find the best possible deal. Brokers will help you keep tabs on the market and its changes. It's a full-time job keeping up-to-date with changes to legislation and interest rate, it's not your job. Brokers also can pick up the phone and persuade the bank's underwriter to lend you the money, even if you don't fit the requirement. Many investors don't appreciate the quality of good mortgage brokers. A good broker will ideally be investing in property themselves and will, therefore, be creative with your application to get you the best deal. The most important thing, however, is to go to the best broker for the type of finance you're looking for. If you're planning on securing finance for a HMO deal you'll want to visit a specialist in that area. But mainly, look for referrals and recommendations from the community. If your looking to find your own mortgage broker and need some help from Peter? Email Thepropertyteacher@gmail.com for his recommendation. How easy is it to move up to the next strategy? Normally you would naturally progress through the Progressive Property pyramid of strategies. This starts with buy-to-let, and then moves onto the buy, refurbish, remortgage model, onto flips and then further up the pyramid you'll start doing HMO's, lease options and then at the top commercial conversions. Really you can do any strategy as long as you're educated. At Progressive, we start at the bottom so you have the fundamentals first. Don't go out there and do it alone. BEST MOMENTS “For each strategy, you might need a different type of finance and for each type of finance you might need a different broker” “You don't need to be geographically close to your broker, it isn't essential to securing the right finance for you.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Join the Progressive Property Community here: http://www.thepropertyteacher.co.uk/ ABOUT THE HOST Peter Jones is a Chartered Surveyor, an author and a serial buy-to-let property investor. He has been involved in property for over 35 years and now owns 78 letting units. He is still actively involved in buying and renovating property, and regularly flips properties for profit. He has since written a number of other successful titles dealing with UK investing including 63 Common Defects in Investment Property and How to Spot Them, the highly acclaimed The Successful Property Investors Strategy Workshop and The Property Renovator's Workshop ,in which Peter describes step-by-step how he built his own property portfolio, starting with virtually none of his own money.
