Låt oss veta vad ni tycker i kommentarerna!

    That's How I Remember It

Jeff and Steven MacDonald from Redd Kross are my guests on this episode of That's How I Remember It, and I couldn't be more psyched. These brothers are the subject of a fantastic recent book, an amazing documentary film, and they put out a great double record last year. I've been obsessed with them going back to the 80s, and we talk about that here. We also talk about them trading VHS tapes with Quentin Tarantino, seeing REO Speedwagon and Ohio Players at a live recording of Don Kirchner's Rock Concert, Jeff seeing the Beatles at age 2, sharing a memory as brothers, Kiss Dynasty, The Replacements, Syd and Marty Krofft, and of course I brought up the Bay City Rollers. Amazing episode, listen and subscribe!

Grab your cricket bat, raid the fridge for a cold one, and head to the Winchester, because this week, the Born to Watch crew are diving deep into one of the smartest and most beloved horror-comedies of all time with their Shaun of the Dead (2004) review. With G-Man MIA (probably off playing Tekken in the shed), Matt and Sir Dimmy hold the fort to break down Edgar Wright's 2004 cult classic that reanimated the zombie genre and redefined the zombie flick with a pint of bitter and a dash of British wit.In this week's episode, the lads explore how Shaun of the Dead walks the tightrope between gore and giggles, creating a film that works just as well as a slacker comedy as it does a horror satire. Damo admits to confusing it with The World's End (don't worry, he's new here), while Matt reveals he's seen the film nearly 20 times and could watch it on loop, especially with a packet of pork crackle and a Pepsi Max.From the iconic walk to the shop (twice), to the Queen-backed zombie beatdown in the Winchester, the boys dissect every major scene with the kind of reverence usually reserved for Tarantino or Scorsese. They also dig into Simon Pegg's breakout role as the titular Shaun, Nick Frost's glorious (and infuriating) turn as Ed, and the supporting cast of Britcom legends including Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, and the ever-reliable Bill Nighy. They ask all the important questions:Is Shaun actually a zombie at the start of the film, who awakens into humanity?Could a pub really be the best place to ride out the apocalypse? And how the hell did Shaun survive that crowd of flesh-eaters outside the Winchester?Damo goes full philosopher, questioning the human condition in the age of smartphones (spoiler: we're all zombies), while Matt wonders why anyone would throw priceless vinyl at the undead. But it's not all jokes and Queen sing-alongs, the episode also touches on the emotional beats of the film, like Shaun's relationship with his mum and stepdad, the heartbreak of watching loved ones turn, and the surprisingly poignant ending that still manages to sneak in one last gag.The boys also fire off rapid takes in “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” with highlights like:The perfect pacing and editing of the dual morning walk sequencesThe underappreciated brilliance of the bizarro “mirror crew” sceneAnd Ed's ability to be the most annoying – yet somehow still likeable – flatmate in cinema historyThrow in some choice reviews from critics (both good and hilariously bad), box office trivia, and the revelation that director Edgar Wright used just $4 million to craft a film that grossed over $30 million and launched a thousand pub-themed Halloween costumes, and you've got yourself one hell of a breakdown.Oh, and yes, the team briefly wonders why cricket bats are now over $1,000, a real horror show.So whether you're a diehard fan of the Cornetto Trilogy or new to the undead scene, this episode is a must-listen.Listen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts!Join the conversation:Is Shaun of the Dead the best zombie comedy ever made?Would you ride out the apocalypse in a pub? And what's the best record to throw at a zombie?#BornToWatch #ShaunoftheDead #EdgarWright #SimonPegg #ZombieComedy #BritishHumour #HorrorComedy #NickFrost #CornettoTrilogy #MoviePodcast

Who better to have on to talk about a blaxploitation movie than ReelBlack. They start the show by Mike explaining who he is and what he does. He has restored Riverbend from 1989 starring Steve James. Phillip then reads the general information about the movie with some facts thrown in. It's then time for Listener Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. They then discuss the movie Charley One Eye. It's a fun and informative conversation, with Mike explaining some things from a black point of view. Phillip and Mike then answer whether they notice anything from this movie, that Tarantino may have liked or used in a film. They then individually rate the movie. Then they talk about whether they would buy this movie, rent it, or find it for free. It's then time for Phil's Film Favorite of the Week; Anora (2024). Mike D. recommends; Riverbend (1989), They Won't Believe Me (1947), and Devil Thumbs a Ride (1947). James Gunn's Superman held its premiere in London July, 2, where the director confidently told The Times of London that his superhero epic celebrates "the story of America" and champions basic human kindness in a world that desperately needs it. Meanwhile, star David Corenswet shared at the London premiere that his predecessors did “a very Superman thing,” with former Men of Steel Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin encouraging him to make the role his own.Universal's Jurassic World Rebirth chomped its way to a $147 million five-day weekend opening during the Fourth of July. While those numbers would make any studio exec happy, they're actually a steep drop from the franchise's predecessors, suggesting that after 32 years, audiences might be experiencing some dino-fatigue. Universal clearly saw the writing on the wall and slashed the production budget from a mammoth $250 million down to a more modest $180 million, but the franchise is still roaring overseas. Australian-American actor Julian McMahon, beloved for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and as Dr. Doom in the 2000's 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four films, died peacefully on July 2nd at age 56 following a private battle with cancer.Michael Madsen, the gravel-voiced character actor best known for his menacing roles in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and The Hateful Eight, died Thursday morning from cardiac arrest at his Malibu home at age 67.The next installment in Denis Villenueve's Dune franchise will officially be titled Dune: Three. Craig Mazin will continue as sole showrunner for season three, while Druckmann retains his executive producer credit on the critically acclaimed series. The Office star Craig Robinson announced on Instagram that he's officially quitting comedy to focus on his true calling. However, industry insiders believe this is likely a marketing stunt, as mysterious billboards have appeared in Los Angeles and Robinson still has comedy shows scheduled through the end of the year.Chris Pratt will reprise his role as the voice of Garfield in an animated sequel to Sony's 2024 The Garfield Movie, which grossed over $230 million dollars at the worldwide box office.Wicked director Jon M. Chu has signed on to helm a live-action Hot Wheels movie for Warner Bros. and Mattel Studios, with screenwriters Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier from Creed II and They Cloned Tyrone penning the script and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot producing. The high-octane action film follows Mattel's success with Barbie as the toy company continues mining its properties for big-screen adaptations.Jimmy Olsen actor Skyler Gisondo revealed he mistakenly believed he was auditioning for the title role in James Gunn's Superman film, thinking the character name in his audition materials was just a placeholder to hide the fact he was reading for Clark Kent. The mix-up led to an awkward phone call with his representatives who had to clarify who he was actually auditioning for, though director James Gunn reportedly loved the story.

Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Yes please! The Punisher en Spider-Man slaan de handen ineenEr gonzen nieuwe geruchten rond Spider-Man: Brand New Day, de volgende MCU-film met Tom Holland. Timestamps:00:00:00 Intro00:00:30 Wat gaan we vandaag doen? 00:01:15 comic ding verdedigers 00:10:40 Twin Peaks aflevering 100:18:24 Squid Game Season 300:21:21 john cena film met idris elba00:26:41 The Running Man Trailer00:31:09 Michael Madsen op 67-jarige leeftijd overleden00:35:34 Eerste blik op de Amerikaanse Squid Game00:37:43 Disney gaat de Indiana Jones franchise rebooten00:43:34 Warner Bros heeft niet langer de rechten van Akira in handen00:45:50 Ichiban introduceert motor geïnspireerd door Akira00:48:56 She Rides Shotgun Trailer00:52:20 Matt Reeves heeft het script van The Batman II af00:56:56 Nicholas Hoult wil een team-up met The Joker in James Gunn's DCU00:59:52 David Corenswet hoopt dan weer op een r-rated Superman film01:02:48 Spider-Man en Punisher slaan de handen ineen tegen Savage Hulk01:05:00 TMNT keert terug in de bioscoop voor 35-jarig jubileum01:07:38 The Fast and the Furious 11 haalt opnieuw het lijk van Paul Walker uit de kast01:13:39 Neil Druckmann stapt weg bij seizoen drie van The Last of Us01:15:29 tom cruise01:19:10 Project Hail Mary Trailer#michaelmadsen #squidgame #indianajones #marvel #dc #superman #spiderman ------Spotify ► https://spoti.fi/2qhR6lrApple Podcast ► https://apple.co/3GzfqqDTwitter ► https://www.twitter.com/NerdCulturePCInstagram ► https://www.instagram.com/NerdCulture.PCJelle ► https://www.twitter.com/GKJelleHuey ► https://www.twitter.com/RealHueyBrownKoos ► https://www.twitter.com/jtmooten

    Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard

Brad Pitt (F1 The Movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Fight Club) is an Academy Award-winning actor and producer. Brad joins the Armchair Expert to discuss whether it makes him nervous to talk to Dax in public, holding two realities about people he knows that are famous actors, and leaving school one week shy of completing his degree for Hollywood. Brad and Dax talk about getting shut down trying to get his SAG card, still feeling like the kid from Oklahoma learning his way through this whole thing, and why his favorite humor is the most irreverent kind. Brad explains that there's no bummer about being in a Tarantino movie, having to work up a case for insurance that it's actually safer to drive at higher speeds while filming F1 The Movie, and the visceral high of delivering lines at 180 miles per hour.Follow Armchair Expert on the Wondery App or wherever you get your podcasts.
