If you want to get leaner and live longer, check out https://milliondollarbodylabs.com/   What if simple habits like mouth breathing or drinking diet soda are quietly ruining your teeth?   In today's episode, I sat down with Dr. Erin Sheffield, a dentist, to explore how things like mouth breathing, dry mouth, and diet sodas contribute to tooth decay. Dr. Sheffield shared how mouth taping can help protect your teeth at night by reducing the effects of mouth breathing, and we discussed why fluoride in toothpaste plays a key role in remineralizing enamel. We also touched on some natural alternatives like Hydroxyapatite toothpaste for those wary of fluoride.   Beyond just brushing and flossing, we talked about how making smart choices today can save you from expensive dental work down the line. Dr. Sheffield also emphasized the importance of preventive care, especially when it comes to making informed decisions about your oral health.   Key Takeaways:   Taking care of your teeth isn't just about brushing twice a day.   Don't base your dental care decisions solely on insurance coverage.    Diet sodas, even without sugar, are still very acidic and can erode enamel over time.   Resources:   Dr. Erin Sheffield is a dental expert who specializes in holistic oral health. With a focus on the connection between oral care and overall well-being, Dr. Sheffield provides practical advice on how habits like mouth breathing, diet, and fluoride use can impact your dental health. In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Jim Ries discuss:Why business development is a critical yet often overlooked skill for lawyersThe role of networking in long-term professional successHow adopting a giver's mentality leads to stronger professional relationshipsBest practices and common mistakes in networking and relationship-building Key Takeaways:Taking a few minutes to research a common connection before meetings and using the "FORD Method" (Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams) leads to more engaging and productive networking conversations.Effective networking is about quality over quantity, so instead of collecting business cards, aim for three meaningful conversations that lead to valuable follow-ups.Trust is built through consistent action, so always follow through on promises like introductions or shared resources to strengthen credibility and relationships.Business development requires patience and persistence, as long-term success comes from continuously nurturing relationships and staying top-of-mind for future opportunities. "The phrase I like to use is not "give to get"—that sounds like expecting something in return. The phrase I use is "give to give"—give because you want to… because it feels good… and just keep giving. In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Saja Raoof discuss:Introversion in professional networkingBuilding a legal practice as an introvertManaging energy and making meaningful connectionsThe role of systems in business development Key Takeaways:Taking intentional breaks during networking events, such as stepping away for alone time, is a crucial strategy for introverts to manage their energy and remain engaged without feeling overwhelmed.Introverts can make networking conversations more comfortable and effective by asking open-ended questions, such as ‘How did you get into your career?,' which encourages others to share while allowing them to listen rather than dominate the discussion.Careful preparation before networking events—such as identifying key people to meet, reaching out in advance, and setting clear goals like making three meaningful connections—helps introverts feel more in control and makes the experience less daunting.Although introverts may shy away from the spotlight, embracing opportunities to speak, give testimonials, or lead discussions allows them to establish credibility and expand their network without relying on small talk or forced social interactions. "I am so outspoken about being an introvert exactly to send a message to the people who are a little too close, or just, you know, it's okay to embrace and it's okay to talk about." —  Saja Raoof Be That Lawyer is now syndicated on Above the Law! In this engaging episode of the Uncommon Wealth Podcast, hosts Phillip Ramsey and Arron Cramer dive into the topic of transitioning from being a victim to a victor in life. They explore the importance of taking responsibility and ownership of one's actions and decisions. This discussion is aimed at empowering listeners to shift their mindset, take control of their circumstances, and initiate positive change.Phillip begins by expressing the significance of taking ownership instead of succumbing to a victim mentality. By highlighting how accepting responsibility, even in adverse situations, individuals can harness the ability to make strategic changes in their lives. Arron complements this perspective by introducing statistical reasoning, emphasizing that the probability of being in situations where one is entirely helpless is slim. They both agree that learning from past mistakes and making better decisions is pivotal in achieving personal growth and success.Key Takeaways: Taking responsibility rather than adopting a victim mentality empowers individuals to create positive change. A victim mentality can limit one's ability to identify personal areas for improvement and growth. Situations perceived as uncontrollable often have underlying factors that could have been managed differently. Emotional responses to situations can indicate personal accountability and the potential for growth. Developing a habit of analyzing personal contributions to outcomes can facilitate future successes.Notable Quotes: "When you actually take ownership, you could be like, okay, what else can I change?" – Phillip Ramsey "Statistically, the chances of a situation where you can just play victim...is slim to none." –Arron Cramer "I make it a practice to always try to see my faults and ownership in something." – Phillip Ramsey "If you're super mad about a situation, you're probably mad at yourself but trying to reflect it onto somebody else." – Arron Cramer "Be a victor, not a victim. In this real and raw and episode, I take you on a profound journey of self-reflection and accountability. I open up about how I became entrapped in the relentless pursuit of financial freedom, only to realize that it led me down a path of deep unhappiness and feeling trapped in a different way. With vulnerability and as much humility as I can, I share my eye-opening realization that creating more money did not bring me the freedom and fulfillment I had desperately sought. I also candidly discuss the impact of alcohol on my emotional well-being and how giving up drinking has been a transformative experience, allowing me to truly address the underlying issues I had been numbing. Throughout the episode, I emphasize the profound importance of surrendering to God's will and finding faith as the keys to living a truly fulfilling and authentic life. I share how this surrender has brought me a sense of peace and purpose that eluded me during my relentless chase for financial independence. Key Takeaways: Taking responsibility for our actions and reflecting on our choices is essential for personal growth and transformation. The relentless pursuit of financial freedom can paradoxically lead to unhappiness and a sense of being trapped in a different way. Alcohol and other numbing behaviors can prevent us from addressing and healing underlying emotional issues. Surrendering to God's will and finding faith can bring a profound sense of peace, purpose, and fulfillment. So often, we sit and wait for the right time. We wait for more information or to see our next steps clearly. Friend, I know I wasted too much time doing it…and I have a feeling you do, too. In today's episode, I encourage you to take action RIGHT NOW. Stop waiting for things to be “right,” “perfect,” or “feel ready” before you start taking action. It's time to BREAK free of our comfort zone, take a step in faith, and go for your God-dream. Listen in to find out more!    Let's Dive In Today's episode is a little kick in the pants – the push we all need sometimes. It's about taking action, even when we feel like we don't have enough information. We often wait, gather data and procrastinate, thinking we need to know everything before we start. But life is short, and time is our most precious resource. I've been there, too. I love learning and growing, but I've realized that being intentional about taking action is key. I want my kids to see what's possible, to see me take steps, make mistakes, and keep going. It's not about having all the answers; it's about moving forward and trusting that God will direct our path. Why Action Matters Safety keeps us stuck. It keeps us overwhelmed and anxious. If you have dreams and goals, staying in a place of safety won't get you there. Success comes from taking action, from being a doer of the word. As James 2:14-17 says, faith without works is dead. We need to put our faith into action, to love in deed and in truth. It's not about doing the perfect thing; it's about doing something. God will direct our steps, but we need to take that first step. Information by itself is dead. What good is it if we know how to solve a problem but don't take action? Discover Your Purpose So, what's your next step? What is God calling you to do? Have you asked yourself what your purpose is? He has given each of us a purpose and a future full of hope and joy. It's time to step out of the safety zone and into the joy of action. If you're ready to explore your purpose and take action, DM me on Instagram. In July, I'm starting a small group for women to shed the weight of the world and discover their purpose, gifts, and strengths. We'll work together to figure out your next steps and how you can walk in obedience to God. Let's Connect If you're interested, let's chat. Get on a call with me for 20 minutes, and let's see what's possible for you. When you start shedding what others say and listening to God, everything becomes clearer. You don't need all the answers; God will provide the way. Ready to explore this journey? DM me on Instagram at @tamimariecoaching. Let's discover your purpose and step into the full weight of joy together. Until next time, keep shining! Ready to take action?  Book a Call with Me!  Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe.  This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!  Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.  Key Takeaways: Taking action and not waiting for more information is important. Safety and comfort can often hold us back. Define success for yourself. Emphasize the significance of faith and works. Actually, follow through with taking action, not just talking about it. Tami offers a small group program specifically designed for women to uncover their strengths and next steps in life. Everything in life can be used for good. Reach out to Tami for a conversation about potential and possibilities. Can you imagine a world where you're not bound by the inevitability of aging? These days it seems as though there's a never-ending pursuit of immortality, but it's important to question the quality of life that extended lifespans might offer. The secret to a longer, happier life may not solely lie in age-reversing technologies and biohacking techniques, but rather in our experiences and connections with the world.   I'm joined by Dr. Christopher Shade, and we're diving into the realm of biohacking, self-care, and the prospects of reversing and embracing aging. From nutrition and detoxification to stem cells and peptides, we discuss the plethora of tools at our disposal to reverse the aging process. We also cover the practical implications of integrating one's consciousness into a machine, and why self-care and taking responsibility for our emotional health is essential.    Dr. Christopher Shade, PhD, founder and CEO of Quicksilver Scientific®, specializes in the biological, environmental, and analytical chemistry of mercury in all its forms and their interactions with sulfur compounds, particularly glutathione and its enzyme system. Dr. Shade is regularly sought out to speak as an educator on the topics of mercury, environmental toxicities, neuroinflammation, immune dysregulation, and the human detoxification system in the United States and internationally. He has helped corporate executives, professional athletes, celebrities, children with autism, patients with chronic immune disorders and more. We don't necessarily have to get upset when someone says something negative to us, as our emotional reactions are our own responsibility. This also extends to taking 100% responsibility for our own personal growth and life journey, and being mindful of our words and actions towards others. Bile serves as the pathway for toxins to exit the liver and enter the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. However, stress, being in a sympathetic state, and estrogen dominance can block bile flow. This can lead to activation of glutamate receptors and hinder the prioritization of regenerative processes. It is easy to fall into an inflammatory state, inhibiting positive growth and contributing to weight gain. Toxins play a role in triggering and prolonging this inflammatory state, preventing us from entering a positive, regenerative state. There are a multitude of environmental toxins that we are exposed to, as well as our own biological waste, which can accumulate if our body's processes are not functioning properly.

They reflect on the importance of communication and being proactive in preventing accidents. Then, they dive into a Reddit post where someone asks if they are the asshole for not learning to drive. Mike and Torya analyze the situation and conclude that the person is not an asshole, as they have underlying fears and anxieties about driving. Trying a new promotion around major shopping events like Black Friday probably isn't in your best interest. So, figure out a smart time to take a risk that will allow you to fail fast and cheap. It's also important to be aligned internally so that all teams understand what the risk looks like.Online stores are nowhere near as sensorial as in-store physical experiences. However, that doesn't make them any less impactful on the overall customer experience. Implementing things like ratings, reviews, and written marketing materials can round out the digital experience.Marketers are tasked with crafting stories, but don't overwhelm your customers with words. Be concise and back your anecdotes up with data and you can deliver an impactful customer experience.-------------------“If we're in the job of actually crafting the story and writing the poetry, then it's more than just knowing the words and the letters and how to put together a sentence. It's also making sure that in a short number of words, we're making the biggest impact with the mounds and mounds of data sets that we have available. What are those key elements that we want to make sure that not just the marketing team is clear of, but actually the entire organization is clear of?” – Elizabeth Preis-------------------Episode Timestamps:‍*(02:12) - Elizabeth's career journey*(04:13) - Industry trends in customer experience in retail*(12:51) - Changes in customer behavior in retail*(17:43) - Challenges in the customer engagement journey at Anthropologie*(24:45) - How data influences marketing at Anthropologie‍*(32:04) - An example of another company doing it right with customer engagement (hint: it's Shopify, LVMH, Sephora)*(36:21) - Elizabeth's recommendations for upleveling customer engagement-------------------Links:Connect with Elizabeth on LinkedInConnect with Kailey on LinkedInLearn more about Caspian Studios-------------------SponsorGood Data, Better Marketing is brought to you by Twilio Segment. Mental health is a topic people shy away from but is evidently more important to discuss in this day and age. In today's episode, we have Jason Hopcus. Listen as he shares his story of how he transitioned from heavy highway construction and real estate to mental health support work. Through his work, Jason has developed a unique perspective on the importance of connection in the pursuit of healing. He believes that leaders and those being led need to access resources to overcome struggles. Jason also shares his thoughts on the current state of the workforce and how employees expect leaders to be more evolved in their connection to employees. Jason Hopcus is a motivator and catalyst for cultural change within organizations. He believes that connection to one's self, one's transparency, and one's passion for connecting allow individuals to live a wholly authentic, full life. He creates systems of people working to deepen their relationships with their work, their play, and ultimately our world. He presently serves as non-profit President/CEO of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Arapahoe/Douglas Counties and is the Founder of the Connection Project, a for-profit company.  Tune in as Denis and Jason tackle the aspect of giving importance to mental health for the well-being of both leaders and employees in the organization. In this episode: Jason discusses his journey in rebuilding his own life and helping those struggling with mental health. Mental health is often a topic people are reluctant to talk about, but Jason believes it's important to have open conversations about all aspects of life. Many people are suffering longer than they have to because of the shame of reaching out and asking for help. Jason sees the successful leaders of today as those who are able to connect with people on a human level. The pandemic has given us a wake-up call and has shown us that life is fast-paced and constantly changing. Leaders today need to be able to navigate these waters effectively. Leaders need to be aware of how their employees are feeling and adjust their approach accordingly in order to create a sustainable connection with them. Employees also have a responsibility to be open and communicative with their leaders in order to create a positive working environment. Key Takeaways: Taking care of yourself is as important as taking care of others The pandemic changed many things, even in the aspect of mental health Know that you are not alone - never be ashamed to reach out for help There are people around you who can understand what you are going through Make sure to get enough rest and to drink enough water Leaders need to be more sensitive to create good connections with the team Employees need to be more open and communicative with their leaders Tweetable Quote: “Me taking care of me is as important as me taking care of others.” - Jason Hopcus Connect with Jason on https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-c-hopcus-clc-87461b43/ (LinkedIn) and check out his websites https://realpeoplereallife.org/ (https://realpeoplereallife.org/) and https://www.namiadco.org/ (https://www.namiadco.org/).  Email: denis@leadingchangepartners.com Website:http://www.leadingchangepartners.com/ ( http://www.leadingchangepartners.com/)  Leadership Is Changing Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeadershipIsChanging/ ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeadershipIsChanging/) Leadership is Changing LinkedIn Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/leadership-is-changing-podcast/ (https://www.linkedin.com/company/leadership-is-changing-podcast/)

The Empathy Edge

Do you know what your risk fingerprint is? Like your actual fingerprint, your risk fingerprint is unique to you and based on your biology, but also your experiences and environment. Your risk fingerprint shapes what you see as risk or what you don't believe is risk. It shapes how you make decisions, connect with people, and live your life. Understanding the risk profiles of others is what my guest today, Michele Wucker, calls “risk empathy.” It's yet another factor you will want to consider when creating a high-performing team but also helps you better understand where someone is coming from, rather than making assumptions. Today we talk about how to assess your risk fingerprint, what risk empathy means, and why the term “risk averse” is a destructive stereotype. We also talk about why ensuring you have risk diversity on your team will help you make better decisions.  Key Takeaways:Taking risks is like building muscle - the more you do it, the easier it gets. Risk is a perception based on your own lens. The more control you have, the less risky you see something as being. You're going to have different risk tolerances in different parts of your life. You want to set up a good risk portfolio across your life. "We talk about gender or race when we are looking at diversity, but I think it's very important to look specifically at risk. Generations approach risk very differently because they've had very different risk experiences." —  Michele Wucker About Michele Wucker:Michele Wucker, Strategic Advisor & Author, The Gray Rhino and You Are What You RiskBest-selling author and strategic advisor Michele Wucker coined the term “gray rhino” for obvious, probable, impactful risks, which we are surprisingly likely but not condemned to neglect. Episode 27 - How To Take Home 6 Figures {LIVE Workshop!} Welcome to Building a Bigger Table The podcast for misfits, mavericks and magic makers who want to create a profitable, sustainable business that makes as much impact as it does income.    In This Episode:   Welcome to episode 27 of the Building a Bigger Table Podcast, where I'm going to be talking about how you can not only make 6 figures, but how you can TAKE 6 figures home.   I've been looking forward to creating this episode since before I even started the podcast, because as you know, I am on a mission to create financial empowerment for everyone. I didn't have the easiest start in life. I grew up absolutely poor and spent two years living in a hostel for homeless families before upgrading to a council estate. And let me tell you, I'm super proud of where I came from, but I always knew where I was going, too.   I went to study at the London School of Economics at 18, and by 21 I was taking home 6 figures, and I have taken that much home every year since. I say this not to brag, but to show you that no matter where you are right now, £10k months are absolutely possible for you if you have the right mindset.   In this podcast episode I'm revealing the 3 things you need to focus on in order to get there, and spilling details of a FREE live workshop I've got upcoming that you definitely don't want to miss if £10k months are on your wishlist. Let's jump in! Key Takeaways: Taking 6 figures is different to making 6 figures Generational wealth is the goal You'll have surplus cash to spend The #1 thing people get wrong   Quotes: “I mean, let's be honest at 21. I was not a pop star. I was not an athlete. I was not a football player. So I didn't have the skillset to warrant taking home six figures, but I absolutely had the mindset.” “But I also understand the fundamentals of economics. I understand how businesses make money. I understand why we hit plateaus. And I also understand how to get you out of that situation. I understand how to help you break through that plateau. I also know from working with thousands of entrepreneurs and business owners, just like you and just like me that nine times out of 10, the key is changing your business model.” “We are ever-evolving human beings. This is a journey. Your business is a journey. Your business should always be evolving.”   Meet Your Host: Hi, I'm Shaa. I've been called a serial entrepreneur … but I've never been one for labels! I've done SO many things in my career, including starting and scaling multiple 7 figure businesses, and am grateful for being recognised with some lovely awards - most proudly, an MBE from The Queen “for Services to Business and Entrepreneurship”. I've been featured in major publications for my efforts (named one of the UK's Top 20 Most Influential Entrepreneurs by The Sunday Times and one of the ‘Most Influential Women in the UK" by the Institute of Directors), and have written 4 straight-talking, bestselling books; Stop Talking, Start Doing; Stop Talking, Start Doing Action Book, Do Less, Get More; and most recently, How To Fix Your Sh*t.   Where To Find Shaa: Website - https://www.shaa.com/nowto10k Facebook - https://en-gb.facebook.com/shaawasmund/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/shaawasmund/ Clubhouse - @Shaa See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Business Unveiled: Expert Tips and Secrets from Top Creative Industry Professionals

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 23, 2021 41:03

Let’s face it: so many #entrepreneurs don’t know how to unwind. You’re probably hearing voices all the time telling you to “#hustle, hustle, hustle”. No one ever talks about the “unhustle.” and how important it is. If you’ve never heard of the “unhustle,” then you’re in for a treat. Our guest, Milena Regos, started the amazing unhustle movement, and she shares with us some great tips on how you can overcome your hustle mindset. There are so many amazing things we can do with our lives but so little time. We often tell ourselves we can do it all, when in reality, we can’t. We end up hustling. We hustle a lot. Eventually, hustling leads to problems like #burnout. To stop this cycle, you need to put boundaries in place. You don’t need to tell people to stop reaching out to you, but you do need to place limits on yourself. Examine what’s most important to you and prioritize. Choose one thing to prioritize. If you have a long list of “priorities,” then you don’t know how to prioritize. Choose one to focus on for a planned amount of time so that when that time is up, you’ll feel like you accomplished something. Did you know that there is actual science behind burn out? There is a study that shows that around 76% of Americans felt burned out. That’s crazy! It has been a hard year, and self-isolation has been rough on everyone. If you’re looking for ways to combat burnout, try spending some time outdoors. You may think you’re wasting time, but nature can actually increase productivity. As a society, we have a lot of work to do to change our hustle culture. The hustle culture has its roots in the industrial revolution during which people worked in factories. The 8-hour workday began in this era. Today, we use our minds more than our bodies. Research shows that our brain only functions at full capacity for 4-6 hours everyday. If you can, try to put boundaries on your work schedule. Go from having FOMO to having JOMO (joy of missing out). Although it might take a while for society to change, you can start changing your own thoughts and attitudes today. You may want to redefine what success means to you and to determine if your standards are based on what other people are doing. You are enough as you are. If your basic needs are being met, you are doing well. It’s time to unhustle in order to find more joy. Listen to this podcast to learn so much more about how you can become an unhustler. **Main Topics: - How to create boundaries for yourself - Burnout: what it is and what it does - How we can change the “hustle” culture - How we can change our own “hustle” mindsets **Key Takeaways: - “Taking care of your sleep, of what you eat, of how much time you take to rest and recharge are actually critical to your performance and productivity.” - “I find so much creativity in these moments of just not really doing anything but just putting one foot in front of the other.” - “As of right now, you’re enough. You have everything you need. If your basic needs are met...everything else becomes secondary.” **More About Our Guest: Milena Regos is from Bulgaria, but she has lived in the United States for half of her life. She began her career in marketing and worked with some incredibly famous clients. She was winning, but she was also hustling. Eventually, she burned out. She decided to search for a better way of working and living, guided by science. Using what she learned, she co-founded the Unhustle Movement. This movement is changing the world of work in ways that are revolutionary.

The path to leadership is certainly not always linear. Career paths can sometimes Zig when you want to Zag. Sometimes, it may mean taking lateral positions or even taking a step back, so long as the purpose is to take 2 steps forward. When it’s happening, it can be hard to see that you’re on a journey, and that the journey is unique to you. In this Jam Session, I sit with leaders Melissa Manner and Heather Stitely. Both Melissa and Heather are Area Business Managers with a fortune 500 biopharmaceutical company, and they both have this in common; their leadership journey was not linear. Key Takeaways:Taking a lateral role or moving from a people leader role back into an individual contributor role is not moving backwards. It's just moving you toward a different direction, that in many cases, moves you forward.  Every decision we make, every role we move into, is a learning experience that will help us to move forward.  When deciding your next career move, be open-minded to the potential you can gain from that experience. When considering different roles, make decisions that are right for you and will put you in a better position (skills and competencies) for the future.  Find the right blend of formal leadership training while leveraging the resources around you, i.e., mentors, other manager's experience, reflecting and learning from your own experience. It's ok to show humility by admitting when you don't have all the answers.

For today’s episode, Steve and I wanted to dedicate some time to discuss our income replacement philosophy a bit deeper. We believe our approach of replacing your income one property at a time is unique. One of the things we love most about it is that it can be adapted and planned out to fit ANY individual situation perfectly. What you want to accomplish and where you are financially will shape your journey. Two crucial factors, both of which considered in our approach.Still, there IS something universal for everyone across the board. Income replacement needs to be considered in the long-term.“Real estate requires discipline, and it requires time.” - Kevin ClaysonThe actual length of the journey will vary, but we need to accept it’s kind of a marathon...And today, we’re going to use this marathon analogy to explain the various aspects of our income replacement philosophy. Hopefully, after this episode, you will all have a much more delicate understanding of why we do what we do here at Done For You.One last thing before we get into the show...We’re also starting a free monthly webinar series, so make sure to check out our website for more information! This month’s topic:Sharpening Your Mindset For An Exceptional 2021:http://dfy-webinar.com/Enjoy the episode!Key Takeaways:Taking a closer look at our income replacement philosophy (2:41)How does your particular situation shape your income replacement strategy? Creating an abundantly aligned and extraordinary life is within your grasp. All you need to do is believe in yourself, set firm boundaries, and set your intention to live your wildest dreams. I'm joined by Natalie Matushenko who talks us through her seven steps to an extraordinary life. About Natalie Matushenko Natalie Matushenko, PCC, CPCC is a leadership coach, best-selling author, transformational teacher, Ivy League University and top business school graduate, and adventurer. Over the past twenty years, she has helped thousands of soulful go-getters make a huge impact in the world while creating lives they love.  Natalie left a high-flying career in international development to pursue her own version of success. She has lived in five countries and has traveled extensively to over 60 countries. Natalie currently splits her time between Colombia, South America, and the United States and spends a couple of months a year traveling the world with her husband and three daughters. How to Create a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Fulfillment What a breath of fresh air Natalie is! I'm delighted to have her join me on this episode of The Girlfriend Doctor to talk about how we can actually create the life of our dreams.  Does following your passion and purpose sound scary? It doesn't have to be. Natalie breaks it down into seven easy steps to living that extraordinary life I know you have ahead of you. The beauty of these seven steps is that Natalie trusts that every single woman listening to this podcast episode can use them to create the life you truly desire to live. They're manageable and when you take that step past your fear, your whole life is right there in front of you. Showing up every single day to do the hard work is essential to creating this dream life. Yes, that means when you're tired and yes, that's when you're afraid. When you make consistent, aligned action, you're manifesting your ultimate dreams. You also need to set firm boundaries with where you spend your time - and, maybe, more importantly, with whom. Protect your energy. And know in your heart when your yes means yes and when you need to say no to something. Saying no opens up your life to a world of possibilities. Using Change to Fuel A Life of Abundant, Aligned Action Natalie explains what happens when you find a group of like-minded women. Interacting with women on a similar path as you helps you feel more inspired to create inspired action to live a life following your purpose and passion. This time that we're currently in is one of huge change and flux for not just us, but most of the world. Like the phoenix, that rises renewed from the flames, so too can we. When we use these periods of chaos, we can actually recreate ourselves and the lives that we truly want to live. It's time to rise, ladies, and start living the that extraordinary life you're destined for. Celebrate something that you can smile about and love yourself for. And share what it is with us! Share with your neighbors. Share with everyone what you're celebrating. As always, you can ask me anything and let me hear your thoughts in the comments on the episode page. And what you focus on grows. It's honoring what is, but at the same time, I firmly believe that there is nothing like times of pure chaos to create something different.” [19:10] “Perimenopausal women are at a tremendous time when our changing hormones will really call us to go within and to shed whatever's not working, adopt whatever will help us thrive so that we can feel sexy, vibrant, healthy, and successful into our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.” [28:38]   Resources Mentioned Sign up for the Extraordinary Life Summit! PART 2: https://theinsurancebroker.podbean.com/e/tibp-kevin-hancock-part-2/ KEY TAKEAWAYS: Taking the exams as early as possible and studying throughout a career is a key for building a successful career as a broker Client-centric and staff-centric models are the more sustainable business models BEST MOMENTS: “Translate what you're learning academically to what is going on in the real world and have real examples and case studies, so it's not just trying to absorb what's in the book… Try and buddy up with someone as a mentor” “If someone asks how I get to X? the answer is that it just depends where you're starting from. We need to understand if someone is doing some learning, either they are starting from base zero or they are halfway up the mountain. How a mentor might help you depends on your starting point” “One of the things that I would say to anyone, whether or not you are in broking, claims, underwriting, any parts of the profession is actually put yourself forward for a bit of this kind of networking. Get involved with your local CII institutes or your Biba region or, or whatever else it is, because you'll meet people along the way that at some point in the future, you can be of help to them and they to you, you just won't note at the time.” RESOURCES: Yutree website: https://yutree.com/ BIBA Website: https://www.biba.org.uk/ The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. In this episode, Christina Martini discuss: Change is constant, so you have to stay nimble to take advantage of this fact. Being nimble helps us predict changes which are likely to impact a client’s organization. Emotional Intelligence requires being nimble so you can adapt to your client’s ever-changing needs. This will help you stand apart from your competition. Key Takeaways: Taking risks can help you service clients better so you can take on new opportunities. Lawyers need to adapt so they can react to rapidly changing circumstances which may change their client’s needs. Ask about a client’s interests outside of your specific area of expertise. This can give you insights into their business and can pay dividends in the long run. Being successful doesn’t mean you’ve never failed. You have to learn from the failures, the possibility of failure can’t make you not take a risk. “We seek to understand the genesis of change and where it is likely to lead in an effort to enhance predictability, so that we can better position our clients and ourselves for what’s next.” —  Christina Martini   Connect with Christina Martini: Twitter: @TinaMartini10 (https://twitter.com/TinaMartini10?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) Website: www.paradigmshiftshow.com (http://www.paradigmshiftshow.com/) DLA Piper: https://www.dlapiper.com/en/us/people/m/martini-christina-l/ (https://www.dlapiper.com/en/us/people/m/martini-christina-l/) LinkedIn: Christina Martini (https://www.linkedin.com/in/christinamartini) Email: christinamartini.paradigmshift@gmail.com (mailto:christinamartini.paradigmshift@gmail.com)   Show notes by Podcastologist: Strickland Bonner Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. In today’s episode, I’m introducing “what-if” coaching and describing it to you so you can see whether it fits with where you are now in your business and life. “What-if” coaching is an exploration that I do with my clients of what the next phase of their lives could look like if they allow themselves to dream. I invite you to explore the very fabric of your life with the thought-provoking questions I present in this episode.   5 Key Takeaways Taking a whole new path could be scary, but it may naturally be a part of who you are and may take much less effort than the original project or business that you’ve been focusing on. You can fail at something that you don’t even like, so why not go after the thing that you love? We tell our children to dream big, yet we tell ourselves to play it safe. We contradict ourselves and yet we don’t even realize it. If you’re limiting yourself and your mind, then you’re limiting what unfolds in your life. If you believe that only a few special people ever really get to live their passion, look for evidence of others who really are living their dreams.   Quotes "It can be fun to envision what the next phase of life could look like.” “It can be scary to consider a whole new path, but the truth is that this whole new path may be exactly what you want and need.”   Action Steps Envision what can be possible. Grab a pen and paper and write down your answers to the following questions:  If you can have, do, and be anything, what would it be? What does that look like in your life?  What if you began taking steps towards it today?  What’s preventing you from starting?  Is the Universe or God, in any way, currently giving you evidence that you are supported in this new version of what your life could look like? What if you start to craft, bit by bit, week by week, month by month, this new version of what you want to do with your life?    I would like to offer you what-if coaching, coaching that’s going to tap into your vision, values, and beliefs.
