Most men didn't feel like there was an opportunity for them to do that with me." — Lisa Shield"One way of making a man's world bigger is listening to, asking about, and supporting his dreams." — Lisa Shield"If you want to have a healthy relationship and you want to have a really beautiful, masculine, feminine dynamic, then it starts with learning about masculinity. Not just learning how you can become more feminine, but learning what draws out a man's masculine side. So you need to do your part just as much as he needs to do his part." — Lisa Shield"And it's not just about sitting and waiting for a man to bring your femininity out, but it's also about you knowing how to draw out his masculinity. And as you do that, your femininity will start to emerge in the process." — Lisa ShieldContinue On Your Journey: Lisa Shield | YouTube | Facebook | Instagram | Book a Call With LisaEmail the podcast at: podcast@lisashield.com

Have you ever wondered how all elements of the environment affect your body? The environment consists of light, earth, wind, water - all of which emit frequencies that contribute to our overall health, and can be considered as natural medicine. In contrast to this, there are also frequencies that we expose ourselves to in our daily lives that come from our screens, and other sources of electromagnetic frequencies that affect our health negatively. The study of these frequencies is called Quantum Biology. In this episode, Kashif is joined by Dr. Catherine Clinton, a licensed naturopathic physician who is also a pediatric health advocate.  She was diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions and Lyme disease while in medical school, wherein she began the long and difficult journey of healing - which became her driving force to help others to not only heal physically but to return to the relationships we evolved over millennia with for a deeper sense of health and belonging. We can fix approximately fifteen to twenty percent of the food sector, maximum. But, if you can fix twenty percent, you only have eighty percent to fix. So the problem is lesser.” (25:10) (Nadun)“My original plan, two years ago, was truly to build a full turnkey supply, to go from everything from the channels, to the Hvac, to the automation. Get early access to our latest psychology lectures: http://bit.ly/new-talks All in Nature is interconnected: all processes are interactive. The brain and the world (which it exists to bring into being for us) are no exceptions to this. Our brains mould the world and the world moulds our brains. Given the capacity for each hemisphere to attend to the world differently, and therefore make some aspects of the world stand forward at the expense of others, different cultures may come to emphasise different ‘takes' on the world. I will consider some ways in which this has worked itself out historically in the West, and whether seeing this can help us get a new perspective on what we see happening around us in the world today. Dr McGilchrist is a Psychiatrist and Writer, who is committed to the idea that the mind and brain can be understood only by seeing them in the broadest possible context. He has published original research and contributed chapters to books on a wide range of subjects, as well as original articles in papers and journals, including the British Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, The Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Telegraph and The Sunday Times. He has taken part in many radio and TV programmes, documentaries, and podcasts, among them dialogues with Jordan Peterson, David Fuller of Rebel Wisdom, and philosopher Tim Freke. His books include Against Criticism, The Master and his Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World, The Divided Brain and the Search for Meaning, and Ways of Attending. It is such a pleasure to have Dr Keivan Zokaei back on the episode to talk with us about one of the best books I have ever read. It is a book that showed the clear win-win between my two passions, business and environmental improvement. Creating a Lean and Green Business System, written by Keivan, is a book truly about creating a better future with many compelling case studies. Let's get into the episode. We are proudly sponsored by S A Partners, a world-leading business transformation consultancy.FREE DownloadRemember to go to enterpriseexcellencepodcast.com/downloads to get hold of a Systems Boundary Map. Please like, subscribe and share this podcast to help others gain insights and create a better future. Two Minute Tip32:38min I think, make it a reason for yourself. Give yourself, do yourself a favour. It's about believing in it personally, having a purpose, and making your own life a bit more purposeful. And it's something that you care about, and rest assured others will also care about it. Others will see right through your passion and will believe in it, and will join the journey with you. And of course, in the beginning, we will have a few small setbacks and ups and downs, such is life. But ultimately, look at all these other people who've managed to accomplish great feats. That's not even two minutes. That's probably 10 seconds if you like. It starts with us, each one of us personally. ,I can see that the bigger purpose and the bigger drive to something like leaning green will help you through some of the tougher times, I'm sure. Conclusion/Key TakeawaysWhat a great episode. Remember you can go to our website enterpriseexcellencepodcast.com/downloads to download a systems boundary map you can use to understand your organisation's current state environmentally. Please like, subscribe and share this podcast to help others gain insights and create a better future. There were two key takeaways for me from this episode.1. The win-win between economic, ethical and environmental gains. For so long, the perception has been that you can have environmental and social gains, but there is a cost economically. Companies adopting a Lean and Green Continuous Improvement approach prove a clear win-win outcome can be achieved.  2. The alignment of environmental, safety, quality and economic gains within an organisation. They are all achieved the same way. Today, we're joined by Mike Rizzo, Founder of the MO Pros, a growing community of wicked smart Marketing Operations Professionals who love to learn and collaborate. When people find a community that they truly identify with, it gives them a feeling of relief that they are not alone. They don't have to struggle to fit into a different community where nobody understands them. Professionals within a community can come from all walks of life to learn from each other. A community is a people-made product because it's not directed by one project manager at the top or by a single goal. Your company's community-led growth model must add nuance to the “community” buzzword by asking members of that community what is valuable to them, what problems need solving, and what problems you can/cannot solve. It's a symbiotic relationship with your community members. Measure community not by revenue but by the value you create. You can think of a community having its own NPS (Net Promoter Score). Track metrics with specific goals and use your tracking sheets to advise your growth trajectories.

This episode of the Plant Medicine Podcast welcomes Dr. Sam Gandy to discuss the symbiotic relationship between psychedelic experiences and connection with nature. Dr. Gandy holds a PhD in ecological science from the University of Aberdeen and has conducted field research across the globe. He currently works as a research assistant at the Synthesis Institute and as a senior science writer at Wavepaths. He is also a collaborator with the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London and was previously a scientific assistant to the director of the Beckley Foundation.  In this conversation, Dr. Gandy shares insights from his research into psychedelics and nature relatedness with special emphasis on his 2020 publication “The Potential Synergistic Effects between Psychedelic Administration and Nature Contact for the Improvement of Mental Health” (linked below). Dr. Gandy discusses the numerous overlaps between the experience of nature relatedness—the personal sense of being connected with the natural world—and the experiences induced by psychedelic substances. These overlaps cover a range of domains and all work to promote wellbeing. For example, Dr. Gandy reports that neuroticism decreases both as a result of positive psychedelic experiences and from spending quality time in nature. As high neuroticism can correlate with mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, interventions that can impact this trait have significant therapeutic potential.  In addition to specific overlaps between the psychedelic experience and nature relatedness, Dr. Gandy also discusses how psychedelics and psilocybin in particular seem to increase a sense of nature relatedness. Considering these overlapping benefits and the symbiotic relationship between psychedelics and nature relatedness, Dr. Gandy provides some speculations for how nature can be more intentionally integrated into psychedelic therapies and ceremonies to maximize the therapeutic benefits of both. He mentions that even something as small as decorating a clinical setting with artwork depicting nature can have positive impacts for patients undergoing psychedelic psychotherapy in the space.   In this episode: Eudaimonic vs hedonic well being The neurobiological and psychological overlaps between nature relatedness and the psychedelic experience How both psychedelics and nature relatedness promote mindfulness and experiences of awe Ideas for combining psychedelic therapy and experiences of nature to enhance health benefits   Quotes: “Nature connectedness is a mediator for some of the benefits to cognition and mood obtained from actually spending time in nature, having contact with nature.” [6:57] “There was a study published last year by a Finnish research group and one of the most common after effects of psychedelic mystical experiences they found was this sustained, positive shift in peoples' relationship to nature.” [17:35] “Psilocybin has this capacity to facilitate this fairly robust, rapid, but most importantly sustained increase in nature relatedness. And the really mysterious and interesting thing is that it can do this even when it's administered in a clinical setting.” [22:47] “The restorative effect of nature obviously benefits both the person having the therapy and the therapist, and it potentially allows for the outdoor nature-based setting to become part of the therapy itself.” [31:00] “If you're going to do any kind of psychedelic nature connection, nature immersion therapy, it's very important to have a cozy, secure structure that people have got as a safe place.” [35:31]   Links: Dr. Gandy on Twitter Dr. Gandy's 2020 article The Potential Synergistic Effects between Psychedelic Administration and Nature Contact for the Improvement of Mental Health Dr. Gandy's 2019 article From Egoism to Ecoism: Psychedelics Increase Nature Relatedness in a State-Mediated and Context-Dependent Manner Psychedelic Medicine Association Porangui

These three fields blend together, but they're often talked about separately. Restaurants, hospitality, and travel all intersect and rely on one another. On this episode of The Main Course, Host Barbara Castiglia talked with Joe Robert-Thornton, EVP and COO of HMSHost, a world leader in creating dining for travel venues. HMSHost operates locations all over North America and is part of Autogrill Group, the world's leading provider of food & beverage services for people on the move. The duo talked about the intersection of restaurants, hospitality, and travel, but first, they traveled through Robert-Thornton's career. In his early days, Robert-Thornton worked in fast-food restaurants and retail. He eventually graduated to the big time and got a break at Blockbuster Video, where he spent his "good years." He landed at Starbucks, then Jamba Juice. He took a role at HMSHost in March of last year. But, you might not recognize the brand."We're not really a brand, and so most people won't know this because we're operating other people's brands," Robert-Thornton said. "We've had relationships, prior to the pandemic, with more than 300 brands."With operating a lot of brands, they've bid a lot of locations in airports. When folks compared the toll the travel industry took during the pandemic, they made comparisons to 9/11. The lack of travel caused a lot of their brands to take significant hits. Obviously, this was much worse, according to Robert-Thornton. But, now that airports are starting to open back up, these restaurant and hospitality brands are seeing more business.

MSU's College of Human Medicine was a pioneer in the area of community-based medical schools. Third and fourth-year students do their clinical training in hospitals around the state.“That philosophy that the best place for people to learn to be a physician is with the people they will eventually be taking care of stays with us,” Sousa tells Beekman. “And our dedication to those communities is a part of what makes us different and special. We were leaders in that. Almost every medical school now has some sort of community experience and there are more than 80 medical schools across the country that now think of themselves, at least in part, as a community-based medical school.“We were real innovators. It's been a great thing for our students. They get great training with people who they will eventually take care of. Most of our students end up practicing in Michigan after they've finished their training. And our communities have been incredibly generous and thoughtful. They've been interested in having the college do more there, and that has led to development of research and economic development opportunities for people in those communities. It's been a really great symbiotic relationship.”Sousa highlights the college' public health work in Flint and the growing research presence in Grand Rapids. He talks about MSU's new partnership with the Henry Ford Health System and about the college's continuing focus on the Greater Lansing area.MSU Today airs Sunday mornings at 9:00 on 105.1 FM, AM 870, and wkar.org. Absent investment income and capital gains, has the global insurance industry made a profit over the past 15 years? What is the true extent of under reserving? Turnover amongst Insurer's shareholders is greater than ever. The advent of computer driven trading, options and ETF's results in companies and shareholders not knowing each other. insurers cannot know who their shareholders are from day to day. Investors may not know the identity of their investments. Almost daily insurers exit classes of business overnight. Buyers have to make investment decisions over time scales of years not knowing the cost of their insurance coverage, or whether coverage will be available at all. Industry consolidation amongst carriers continues at a furious pace, disturbing relationships even further. The industry's claims performance is still not as good as it needs to be. Carriers complain at brokers' commissions and fees, but it is the client, the buyer who decides what their broker earns. The reality?........insurers are legally obligated to place their shareholders' interests above the interests of the policy holders. The brokers role is as valuable to insurers as it is to buyers. The existence of the brokers permits the insurers to react to volatility without creating a political backlash. Speaker: Dennis Mahoney is a 50 year veteran of the insurance industry. He started his career in 1968 at Lloyds insurance broker Price Forbes. That firm then merged with Sedgwick Collins and then Bland Payne to create the Sedgwick Group, now part of Marsh& McLennan. During his career Dennis was fortunate to work in most classes of both insurance and reinsurance. After graduating from the Harvard Business School PMD program, he was appointed deputy chairman of Sedgwick North America. In 1984 he was recruited to lead Alexander Howden the Lloyds broker acquired by US broking giant A & A ( Alexander & Alexander). Following the acquisition of A&A by Aon in 1997, Dennis was appointed as Chairman and CEO of Aon's Wholesale and reinsurance operations. Dennis relocated to Bermuda in 2007 as Chairman of Aon Global. He retired in 2010. Appointed as an independent director of Ironshore in 2012, he chaired the underwriting and risk committee. Following the sale of Ironshore to Fosun, he remained with the company until its sale to Liberty Mutual in 2016. In 2015 Calera Capital acquired RFIB (Robert Fleming Insurance brokers ) and Dennis joined as co-investor and Executive Chairman. RFIB was acquired by Odyssey capital (Integro/Tysers ) in 2019 and Dennis stepped down. He remains with the group until his contract expires in 2021.
