(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark The disturbing Chinese-Iranian alliance China pledged support for Iran last week during the BRICS Summit in Russia. BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprised of the countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Other affiliated countries include Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates. Chinese President Xi Jinping stated, “No matter how the international and regional situation changes, China will unswervingly develop friendly cooperation with Iran.” International Christian Concern warns, “China and Iran are known persecutors of Christians, and their mutual support could lead to increased persecution as both countries work to eliminate the practice of Christianity within their borders.” Growing Evangelical presence in Spain The Observatory of Religious Pluralism in Spain released a report on evangelical places of worship. There are 4,455 evangelical places of worship in Spain this year, up about 1,000 from 10 years ago. With atheism and agnosticism on the rise in the country, many religious groups are shrinking or just maintaining their numbers. Evangelicals are among the few groups seeing growth in the historically Catholic nation. Transit workers win lawsuit after being denied religious accommodation In the U.S., transit workers won a $7 million lawsuit after being denied religious accommodations for the COVID shot during the pandemic. The Pacific Justice Institute represented the former employees of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District. The public transit service provided no accommodations for the workers' religious exemption requests. Kevin Snider, Chief Counsel with The Pacific Justice Institute, said, “The rail employees chose to lose their livelihood rather than deny their faith. That in itself shows the sincerity and depth of their convictions. After nearly three years of struggle, these essential workers feel they were heard and understood by the jury and are overjoyed and relieved by the verdict.” Supreme Court: Non-citizens in Virginia should be barred from voting The U.S. Supreme Court sided with Virginia yesterday in the state's attempt to keep noncitizens from voting. Virginia officials had removed over 1,600 voter registrations of noncitizens over the last couple months. The Biden administration sued Virginia, and a federal court ordered many of the registrations reinstated. However, conservative justices on the Supreme Court granted an emergency appeal to Virginia's Republican administration. Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares responded, "I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Supreme Court granted Virginia's emergency stay to keep noncitizens off our voter rolls.” 800 million downloads of YouVersion Bible app The YouVersion Bible app has surpassed 800 million downloads globally. The app includes over 2,000 translations. Most downloads come from outside the United States like in Africa, India, and Latin America. Bobby Gruenewald, the founder of YouVersion, told CBN News that Bible engagement is growing around the world. GRUENEWALD: “The narrative that people no longer read the Bible is simply not true. We have evidence and empirical data, real data, not just a survey that someone had somewhere, that indicates that there is momentum globally around Scripture engagement. “So, we should be encouraged to know that that God's Word is very alive and well, and if anything, more relevant to today's culture than maybe ever before in human history. Psalm 86:9 says, “All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.” 2 final donors to Pakistani Christian orphanage Special thanks to the final two donors who helped the Pakistani Christian orphanage. Since we had already raised $344.75 more than the cost to build the new $15,000 well at the Christian orphanage in Pakistan, the $50 which Jennifer in San Jose, California gave along with the $120 that Beth and her son, Ben, gave from Olympia, Washington will be used toward Pastor Michael's monthly budget to feed, clothe and educate the 85 orphans. To those who gave so sacrificially, thank you! Happy Reformation Day And finally, Happy Reformation Day! October 31st, 1517 was the day when Martin Luther, a Catholic priest, nailed the Ninety-five Theses on the door of All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, Germany in which he listed the 95 ways the Roman Catholic Church had become corrupt. Chief among them was the selling of so-called indulgences which were certificates which allegedly reduced someone's temporal punishment in purgatory for sins committed by the purchasers or their loved ones before they went to Heaven. Needless to say, there is no Biblical support for either a place like purgatory nor the ability to change one's eternal destination after death. Hebrews 9:27 says, “People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” Little did Martin Luther know how the Lord would use him to ignite a movement, the Protestant Reformation, that would change the world. Watch a 2-hour dramatic film entitled Luther with your family. Plus, your children might enjoy a 34-minute animated film called The Martin Luther Story from Torchlighters. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims beheaded 4 people including a Christian Open Doors UK reports that Muslim extremists beheaded four abducted individuals recently in northeast Nigeria. At least one of them was a Christian. The terrorists released a graphic video of the murders and are believed to be from Boko Haram. In the video, an armed terrorist said, “Wherever there is an infidel, we will go and find them out by ourselves and execute them.” John Samuel with Open Doors said, “Boko Haram extremists have clearly said time and time again that they are waging a jihad against people they call ‘infidels' – that is anyone who does not sign up to their extreme interpretation of Islam. Some of the people at the top of this list, then, are Christians who are clear targets because of their faith.” 60,000 Brits sign freedom of prayer petition Alliance Defending Freedom released a petition for freedom of prayer in the United Kingdom. this month. Already, nearly 60,000 people have signed it. Authorities in the U.K. recently convicted a Christian of violating censorship zones around abortion mills. Army veteran Adam Smith-Connor had simply prayed silently near an abortion mill! Alliance Defending Freedom sent the petition to U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer. It states, “Freedom of thought is our most basic and precious of rights -- and has long been recognized in British law and every major human rights document from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights onwards.” Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Kamala calls Trump a “petty tyrant,” likening him to King George III Last night, Vice President Kamala Harris made her campaign's closing argument in a speech at the Ellipse in the nation's capital, reports The Epoch Times. Her campaign claimed that 75,000 people were in attendance. The rally was located at a symbolic site for two reasons. First, it had a direct view of the White House. And secondly, it's the place where Trump delivered his speech on January 6, 2021, that preceded the Capitol breach. HARRIS: “Nearly 250 years ago, America was born when we wrested freedom from a petty tyrant. Across the generations, Americans have preserved that freedom, expanded it, and, in so doing, proved to the world that a government of, by, and for the people is strong and can endure. (cheers) “Those who came before us, the patriots at Normandy and Selma, Seneca Falls and Stonewall (cheers), on farmlands and factory floors, they did not struggle, sacrifice, and lay down their lives only to see us cede our fundamental freedoms. (cheers) “They didn't do that only to see us submit to the will of another petty tyrant. (cheers) These United States of America, we are not a vessel for the schemes of wannabe dictators.” GOP Congressman: People are done with Kamala's fear mongering Appearing on The Angle with Laura Ingraham on Fox News, Republican Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida rejected the nasty tone, fear mongering, and unsupported accusations in the waning days that Kamala Harris has adopted. Listen. DONALDS: “They were joy and vibes three weeks ago. Now, everything is ‘attack Donald Trump,' ‘call him Hitler,' ‘call his supporters fascists.' “We were at Madison Square Garden. Laura, it was great to see you there. It was a fantastic night. “You had people like myself, Vivek Ramaswamy, ‘Harry-O,' the founder of Death Row Records. We spoke at that rally. Do you think the Nazis would let two black guys and a guy of Hindu dissent speak at a rally? At one of theirs? Absolutely not! But that's all they have. “The constant fear mongering and gaslighting is enough. People are sick of it. They're done. They're done with Kamala Harris and they're done with this version of the Democrat Party.” Washington Post, L.A. Times, & USA Today don't endorse for president Breaking with recent practice, major news outlets are not endorsing a candidate in the upcoming presidential election. The Washington Post announced last Friday it is not making a presidential endorsement for the first time in 36 years. The Los Angeles Times and USA Today also announced they will not be endorsing a candidate for president. In the wake of the decisions, top editors resigned and 200,000 left-leaning subscribers to the Washington Post cancelled their subscriptions. Many conservatives have concluded that Jeff Bezos and Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire owners of the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times respectively, have concluded that Trump is likely to win the 2024 election and do not want to irritate him by endorsing Kamala Harris. How God spared a couple in Hurricane Helene Queen City News reports a North Carolina couple is giving thanks to God after surviving Hurricane Helene. Howard Ray and his wife, Lisa, thought they were about to die as flooding swamped their trailer in Yancey County. However, they were able to escape the trailer and use their couch as a flotation device. Eventually, they made their way to safety. HOWARD: “I don't understand. We shouldn't be alive. I mean, there's just no way. It's all God.” LISA: “Yeah, we shouldn't be alive, but God has a purpose.” REPORTER: “What do you think that purpose is?” LISA: “I'm not sure. I'm still asking questions.” HOWARD: “I think maybe what we're doing right now, maybe it gets out and shows people that there is a God.” Lisa had to be hospitalized for some cuts, and Howard, a lieutenant with the local volunteer fire department, returned to the area to help first responders. They both praised God for His protection. Worldview listeners fully fund Pakistani orphanage well And finally, if you heard the newscast on Monday, you learned that a 200-foot-deep well of a Pakistani Christian orphanage, which housed 87 orphans, had become polluted with chemicals which tragically led to the deaths of two orphans. Toward the $15,000 cost of building a 500-foot-deep well which will deliver safe drinking water, Pastor Michael, the founder of the orphanage whom I have met personally, still needed to raise the final $4,185. Thanks to several Worldview donors on Monday, the amount remaining was $3,110. And yesterday, Michele in Altha, Florida gave $100, a couple from San Antonio, Texas gave $150, a family in Lexington Park, Maryland gave $150, a couple in Paw Paw, Michigan gave $500, a couple in Kailua Kona, Hawaii gave $500, a couple in Simpsonville, South Carolina gave $1,000, and Dick and Deborah in Wayland, Michigan -- along with their teenage sons Jonas and Jeremiah who contributed money from their dog-sitting business – gave $1,054.75. Those 7 donations add up to $3,454.75. That means we surpassed the goal by $344.75. The additional money will go toward the $2,000 monthly budget which pays for the food, clothing, medical care, and Christian education of the 85 orphans. If you would like to help with that budget, send your tax-deductible donation made out to Rio Grande Valley Prayer Center, their sister organization here in America. The address is 3106 Harmony Lane, Mission, TX 78574. In the memo, write: “Pakistani orphanage.” The prayer center will then wire your money to a nearby bank in Pakistan. Please email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com to let me know how much you sent so I can offer one final report on Thursday's newscast. The bodies of Pastor Weere Mukisa, his 25-year-old wife, Annet Namugaya, and their two daughters, 7-year-old Judith and 4-year-old Sylvia, were found consumed in a fire set in the early morning hours of October 13th. The pastor had been threatened by local Muslims for evangelizing among the local Muslim population. The pastor's brother said, “When the three young Muslims converted to Christ, my brother started receiving threatening messages that he should stop any contact with the three converts, and that the act committed is against the teaching of Islam to not join the religion of infidels.” Canadian government persecuting 74 Amish In other news, the Canadian government is persecuting 74 members of the Amish community in Ontario for their failure to download a Covid-19 app despite the fact they have no access to smart phones. The government has also placed liens on the Amish farms for those incapable of paying the fines. Russia has gained control of Donetsk, Ukraine The Russian army has gained control of 478 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in the ongoing war, mostly in the Donetsk region in the month of October. That's the first major gain since March of 2022. The Kiel Institue of the World Economy reports that the Ukrainian conflict has already drawn $128 billion from Europe and $92 billion from the US. Meantime, Russia is increasing its military budget by 25% to $145 billion in 2025 — a full 32% of the nation's government budget, reports Reuters. Archbishop of Canterbury compromises on Biblical sexuality The leading cleric in the Church of England, Justin Welby, was asked in an interview last week what he thought about acts of sodomy. The Archbishop of Canterbury approved of the sexual perversion in these words. WELBY: “Where we've come to is to say that all sexual activity should be within a committed relationship, whether it's straight or gay. In other words, we're not giving up on the idea that sex is within marriage or civil partnership.” Some within the Anglican Church are now calling for the archbishop's resignation. Proverbs 25:26 points out that, “Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.” House sales hit lowest level since 1995 Annual sales of existing single family homes in the United States have dropped to the lowest level since 1995, reports The Wall Street Journal. That's almost 30 years ago! Buyers are revolting against high prices. For example, the median price of a condo is $360,000, up from $165,000 in 2013. Bitcoin, gold and inflation are up Bitcoin is hovering around $69,000, approaching an all-time high again, up 4.5% from three years ago. Gold is up 61% from three years ago, now selling at $2,740 per ounce. And inflation is up 16% over the last three years. Public profanity more common Profanity is more common in the public forum. A recent presidential candidate swore or cursed 13 times at a rally. On the local level, KPBS of San Diego analyzed the city's public meetings, and found an exponential increase in incivility, cursing, and swearing between 2020 and 2023. The number of uncivil exchanges in the public meetings increased from just two in 2008 to 167 in 2023. A recent survey produced by Harris X poll found that 68% of Americans over 65 years of age are bothered by the public use of profanity, and only 26% of 18- to 35-year-olds are bothered by it. Deuteronomy 5:11 issues the warning for all of us: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” Trump enjoys slight lead in all 7 swing states In the presidential polls, Trump leads Harris in Wisconsin by one point. Trump leads in Michigan by one point. Trump leads in Arizona by two points. Trump is half a point ahead in Pennsylvania. Trump leads in North Carolina by two points. Trump leads in Nevada by one point. And Trump leads Georgia by two points. Either candidate will need to win three or four of these seven swing states to take the election. Mel Gibson eager to depict Siege of Malta Actor and producer Mel Gibson met with the Prime Minister of Malta and the Film Commission to discuss a production of a film which would dramatize the historic Siege of Malta, reports The Times of Malta. Between the months of May and September of 1565, seven hundred knights defended the European continent from the island invasion of 40,000 Mohammedan Turks. Queen Elizabeth I had warned that, “If the Turks should prevail against the Isle of Malta, it is uncertain what further peril might follow to the rest of Christendom.” In the providence of God, the Hospitaler Knights, led by Jean Parisot de Valette, defeated the seemingly invincible Ottomans, and saved Europe. $1,075 given toward $4,185 goal to finish Pakistani orphanage well And finally, toward the $4,185 that we are trying to raise to help a Pakistani Christian orphanage housing 85 children dig a new 500-foot deep well to avoid the contamination of chemicals that compromised their 200-foot well, four Worldview families made a donation. Get more details in our October 28th newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Courtney and her children -- Stephen, Isaiah and Quintin -- in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania gave $75, Dick and Susan in Hoyt, Kansas gave $200, Meggan in Register, Georgia gave $300, and a couple in Ventura, California gave $500. According to The Christian Post, Linda Burris said, “We made a record of 2,824 Gospel conversations with 373 of those praying to receive Christ.” Now that's some good news about the Good News! She made the misguided claim that if men helped to elect Trump, they were putting the women in their lives in danger because of Trump's desire to protect babies in the womb. Listen. MICHELLE OBAMA: “To anyone out there thinking about sitting out this election or voting for Donald Trump or a third party candidate in protest because you're fed up, let me warn you. (boos) Your rage does not exist in a vacuum. (cheers) If we don't get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother -- we as women -- will become collateral damage to your rage. (cheers, applause) “Are you as men prepared to look into the eyes of the women and children you love and tell them that you supported this assault on our safety?” Truth be told, according to the 197-page report entitled “Unsafe: How America's Abortion Industry Is Endangering Women,” having an abortion poses a dramatically greater medical risk than delivering a baby. Obama took credit for Trump's good economy On October 11th, former President Barack Obama campaigned for Kamala Harris in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He claimed that Trump had a good economy because he, Obama, gave him a good economy, reports Axios. OBAMA: “The reason some people think, ‘I remember that economy when [Trump] first came in being pretty good.' Yeah, it was pretty good because it was my economy! (cheers) It wasn't something he did.” GOP Congressman shows Trump's economy twice as good Republican Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida took issue with Obama's claim that Trump's good economy was really Obama's good economy. DONALDS: “I was working in finance during Barack Obama's administration. The economy under his last, especially the last five years, was growing at about 1% to 1.5% per year. At the time, President Obama was saying that, you know, this era of large economic growth is something of the past. Consistent economy meant one that barely grew. “So, when Donald Trump came in, he brought his tax cut policy in which he cut taxes across the board for everybody in our country, couple [with that] the fact that he did cut massive regulations. “Economic growth in the United States went from 1-1.5% under Barack Obama to 3-3.5% under Donald Trump. Wages, adjusted for inflation, increased for every subgroup of Americans. The wealth gap was closing. We were actually booming economically far more than we did under Barack Obama. “So, that's a cool statement he made on the stump, but it's not true.” Dr. James Dobson shares his presidential voting guide Click here to see it. Florida postal worker accused of dumping 1,000 pieces of mail, including political pieces A Florida postal worker has been accused of dumping more than 1,000 pieces of mail in a wooded lot in Orlando, including over 400 pieces of political mail and at least one election ballot, reports The Epoch Times. Ottis McCoy Jr., who was employed by Cummings Contract Delivery Service to deliver mail for the U.S. Postal Service, has been charged with stealing and discarding mail in violation of federal law, according to a criminal complaint filed on October 25th. Data from a GPS tracking device connected to the vehicle McCoy was driving indicated that McCoy had deviated from the route, prompting the manager to investigate. Help fund new well for Pakistani Christian orphanage And finally, The Worldview covers the persecuted church every weekday. But today, I have a personal report from a Pakistani missionary whom I have had the honor to meet in person. For decades, Pastor Michael has spent his life planting 33 churches and an orphanage with 87 children in a country which is not only 96% Muslim, but downright hostile to Christianity. In fact, it is only by the hand of Providence that he, his wife, and three children are still alive. First, the Muslims burned down three consecutive homes of Pastor Michael. MICHAEL: “Because of my Christian faith and my activities with the Christian community, the Muslims, they do not like it. They burned out my home, and I moved from that home to another city, to another home, and it was burned again. “They came with the long, fire sticks. My family, when they heard the noise, they came out and they saw hundreds of people are attacking the house. So, thanks to God, that God saved our lives, but we lost three different houses.” As if that were not enough, Pakistani Muslims also kidnapped and tortured one of Michael's three children. MICHAEL: “Always the Christian leaders are under the threat. The children are always kidnapped. My son was kidnapped from the gym when he was exercising. A group of Muslim men, they kidnapped him and tortured him many days. When we found him after 16 days, he was half dead. He was not able to talk. He was under medical care for many days. Then he flew to Germany. He is still there.” Tragically, the well of the Christian orphanage has become polluted and two of the children have died. MICHAEL: “Unfortunately, two children, they went to the Lord because of the contaminated water. They had sickness, hepatitis and some stomach diseases. In that area, there is a drain going through, and that drain carries the disposal of chemicals.” For the moment, the 85 orphans have been placed in the homes of 30 different church families while Michael covers the cost of their food. After consulting with water experts, they discovered that they need to dig a well 500 feet deep for pure drinking water compared to the current contaminated well which is only 200 feet deep. MICHAEL: “Temporarily, they are living there. After a certain time, we will bring them back when we get clean water again.” The cost to dig a new well will be $15,000. So far, God has already provided $10,815. Special thanks to the Blanco, Texas United Methodist Church which gave $5,000. So, in order to completely pay for the new well for the Pakistani Christian orphanage, Pastor Michael still needs to raise $4,185. Join me and send an urgently needed, tax-deductible donation made out to Rio Grande Valley Prayer Center, their sister organization here in America. The address is 3106 Harmony Lane, Mission, TX 78574. In the memo, write: “Pakistani orphanage well.” The prayer center will then wire your money to a nearby bank in Pakistan to help build that well. In light of the country's crippling 42% inflation rate, the sooner they receive the money, the better. After you send your check, please take a moment to email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com, and I'll simply announce your first name, city and state so that we can celebrate together the completion of this life-saving project. Pastor Michael offered this prayer. MICHAEL: “Dear God, I pray that you would touch the heart of the listeners to give generously to help us build this new well in Pakistan for the 85 orphan children. Amen.” 1 John 3:17 says, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, October 28th, in the year of our Lord 2024. The media has always had a tremendous impact on the formation of public opinion . . . but it at least tried to be unbiased in its reporting in times past. So what do we do when it becomes as blatantly biased as it is today? Is there an objective, absolute standard to use when interpreting the events around us? Or is it the one who yells “Heretic!” the loudest who wins in the end? We review some of the basics requirements for good journalism, how to navigate the maze of a thousand opinions, and the need bring God's standards to bear in the area of the press and current events on this edition of the program. It's Friday, September 20th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistani Christian mother sentenced to death On Wednesday, a Pakistani Christian mother of four children received the death sentence after a judge convicted her under Pakistan's blasphemy laws, reports Morning Star News. Shagufta Kiran, age 40, was convicted under Section 295-C of Pakistan's widely condemned blasphemy laws for insulting Muhammad, the false prophet of Islam, which carries a mandatory death sentence. She was arrested in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency on July 29, 2021, for allegedly sharing blasphemous content in a WhatsApp group in September 2020. Her husband and two sons were also taken into custody during the raid but were later released. Attorney Rana Hameed said, “The complaint against Kiran was registered by a Muslim named Shiraz Farooqi, who alleged that she had shared content disrespectful of Islam's prophet. However, Kiran has maintained that she has not authored the content and had forwarded it in the WhatsApp group without reading it.” Formerly a nurse, Kiran had joined several interfaith WhatsApp groups, where she proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and defended her Christian faith. One such group, Pure Discussions, was administered by the complainant, Shiraz Farooqi. While the mother is hopeful of a positive outcome from the superior courts, she misses her family terribly. The verdict did not come as a surprise, as 99 percent of those charged under Section 295-C are convicted by trial courts under pressure from Islamists. According to the Center for Social Justice, nearly 3,000 people have been accused of blasphemy in Pakistan since 1987. Specifically, in the Punjab Province alone, 552 Christians are currently detained in prisons. Pakistan ranks seventh on the Open Doors 2024 World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian. Trump objects to Kamala's lies and thanks God for sparing his life twice On the presidential campaign trail, Donald Trump spoke on Wednesday at a rally on Long Island in Uniondale, New York. He took issue with the dishonest claims by Kamala Harris and the liberal media, reports RealClearPolitics.com. TRUMP: “It's time to stop the lies, stop the hoaxes, stop the smears, stop the lawfare of the fake lawsuits against me, and stop claiming your opponents will turn America into a dictatorship. Give me a break, because the fact is that I'm not a threat to democracy, they are. “They're doing things in politics that have never been done before in the history of our country. And worst of all, with their open borders and bad elections, they have made us into a Third World nation, something which nobody thought was even possible. Americans deserve a campaign based on the issues. We try and keep it on the issues.” And, Trump also expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life twice from recent assassination attempts. TRUMP: “God has now spared my life — It must have been. God, thank you. Not once, but twice. There are those that say He did it because Trump is going to turn this state around. He's going to turn this country around. He's going to make America great again.” Pro-abortion Republican Congressional candidate: A gutless wonder Republican Matt Gunderson is hoping to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Mike Levin of California's 49th congressional district. But his strategy is raising eyebrows by campaigning on a promise to keep abortion “safe, legal, and rare,” apparently hoping that his pro-abortion view will help him prevail in America's most liberal state, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Listen. GUNDERSON: “On a woman's right to choose, I'm pro-choice. I believe abortion should be safe, legal and rare. I don't want politicians dictating health care for my daughters. You might disagree, and that's okay. “But I bet there's more that unites us, like lowering housing, grocery, and gas prices, securing the border, and protecting Social Security. We can end the overheated political rhetoric and focus on fixing a broken Washington. I'm Matt Gunderson, and I approved this message.” Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, shifting public opinion and a wave of 10 pro-abortion ballot initiatives have led some in the Republican Party to conclude they must moderate the party's longstanding pro-life stance. Pro-life activists such as Lila Rose, founder of LiveAction, have forcefully challenged that conclusion, but because Trump has vocally sided with the moderation camp throughout his current campaign, other GOP candidates have been given cover to compromise as well. Psalm 119:1-3 says, “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths." Good Samaritan saves trucker from fire And finally, a Virginia man is being hailed a hero after he saw a fire blazing under a tractor-trailer — and immediately took action, reports FaithWire.com. Akeem Dixon was on his way to a job interview this week in Norfolk, Virginia, when he noticed the blaze. DIXON: “I was in a tunnel. Beside me, I see a tractor trailer. And I see under the tractor trailer, I see a fire under the truck.” Recognizing the need to move quickly, he started honking to get the driver's attention, but to no avail. That's when Dixon decided to pull his car in front of the tractor-trailer, according to WVEC-TV. DIXON: “[As] soon as we get inside the tunnel, I just drive right in front of him, put my forward flashers on, and I slowed right down to a complete stop. Then he stopped behind me. So, when I got out of my car, I rushed straight to the truck. And I was, like, ‘Yo, there's a fire underneath your truck!” The driver got out of the truck and Dixon told him to get a fire extinguisher. But it quickly became evident time was running out. Due to the flames, the engine was going to explode at any moment. DIXON: “I tell him to leave the truck, because it's going to blow any minute. Just leave it and come to my car. Let's move to my car, far away from the truck. As soon as we move from the truck and close to my car, at the same time, we hear a boom.” Thankfully, Dixon and the driver remained safe — all thanks to his selfless actions. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, to lay down his life for his friends.” Or, in the case of Akeem Dixon, for a stranger! It's Tuesday, May 7th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pakistani Muslims attacked Christian family Last month, a Pakistani Christian, Ashraf Yousaf, and his two brothers and two sisters were attacked by Muslim neighbors in the Punjab District. The Muslim attackers confiscated their wheat crop. Thus far, the police have done nothing to help them. In fact, their attackers have filed charges against the Christian family. Ashraf told The Christian Post that “We have lost everything: our livelihood, our money, and most of all, the hope of getting justice.” Russian saber rattling More saber rattling from Russia this week. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian Defense Ministry will conduct tactical nuclear weapons drills in the near future. This comes after what the Russians referred to as “provocative statements and threats against Russia [made by certain Western officials.]” The tests involve any or all deployments short of a nuclear explosion. England sends $4 billion to Ukraine Late last week, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron promised Ukraine $4 billion of annual support for the war, reports Reuters. He acknowledged the weapons could be used to strike targets inside of Russia. Warren Buffet addressed his mortality The sixth richest man in the world spoke to his own mortality at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha, reports CNBC. Warren Buffet, age 94, told the gathering that “I shouldn't be taking on any four-year employment contracts, like several people are doing in this world, at an age when you can't be quite that sure where you're going to be in four years.” Buffet's foundation: The largest single abortion funder Warren Buffet and his foundation, named after his late wife, constitutes the most powerful non-governmental, pro-abortion advocate in the world. Indeed, Forbes.com lists the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation as “the largest single donor supporting abortion rights in the U.S.” According to the World Health Organization's Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation provides half a billion dollars per year to pro-abortion causes. That's about equivalent to the entire U.S .government funding of Planned Parenthood. And 20 times the income of the five largest pro-life groups in America — 40 Days for Life, Americans United for Life, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, National Right to Life, and American Life League. Psalm 37:35-36 speaks of this. “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more. Indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found.” Survey: Disney should return to wholesome programming The Rasmussen Reports national survey discovered that 71% of American adults agree with the statement that, “Disney should return to wholesome programming and allow parents to decide when their children are taught about sexuality.” Only 22% disagree with the statement. Also, the survey found that only 33% of Republicans view Disney in a favorable light, and only 46% of Americans overall have a favorable view of Disney. Nonetheless, this seemingly impregnable entertainment giant's annual revenues topped $89 billion in Fiscal Year 2023, up from $83 billion in FY 2022, and $67 billion in FY 2020. Saudi Arabian bank loans money to anti-“gay” Uganda First, the World Bank suspended loans for the nation of Uganda because of its stand against homosexuality. And now, Uganda's government has announced obtaining a sizable loan of $295 million for infrastructure from Saudi Arabia's Islamic Development Bank, reports Reuters. Indeed, over the last decade, Arabic countries have invested $100 billion into Africa. In addition, over the last two decades, China has invested $170 billion into Africa. Pro-homosexual “mainline” Protestant denominations are dying Pro-homosexual religious denominations in the U.S. have lost membership. The United Methodists have dropped from 11 million to 5.4 million, with only 1.5 million attending in 2022. The Presbyterian Church USA has dropped from 4.5 million to 1.1 million as of 2022. And the Evangelical Lutheran Church has dropped from 5.6 million to 2.9 million, with only 500,000 attending weekly. In total, only 3 million remain attending these mainline denominations. That's just 1% of the U.S. population, compared to 21% of Americans who claim to be Evangelical. As The Worldview reported on May 2nd, the United Methodist General Assembly struck down its longtime ban on homosexual clergy last week by a vote of 447 to 233. It also removed the ban on performing faux weddings for homosexual men and lesbian women living in unnatural relations with one another, by a vote of 479 to 203. In John 15:5-6, Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” Gun jams when church gunman attempts to kill pastor And finally, during a Pennsylvania church worship service on Sunday, a gunman stepped into the aisle, took aim at the pastor, and pulled the trigger. But, by the mercies of God, the gun jammed, and several congregants tackled 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite, reports CNN. It's not clear why the suspect tried to shoot the pastor. In fact, Pastor Glenn Germany said he had never seen the gunman before. Pastor Germany said he was “thankful to God that I'm still here, because he definitely pulled the trigger.” GERMANY: “I forgive him for what he did. I just mainly thank God that nobody got hurt.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, May 7th in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Good Friday, March 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldView.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus The struggle of a Pakistani Christian student One young Pakistani Christian woman explained how she has been discriminated against in her Muslim-majority nation, according to International Christian Concern. She said, “I faced discrimination at my university while studying at a private university in Lahore. Being the only Christian student in my academic department, a teacher deliberately used to give me an “F” grade because of my faith. I repeated that course three times during the tenure of that teacher, failing to secure a grade other than ‘F.' However, I managed to get an ‘A' as soon as the teacher was replaced.” In John 15:18, Jesus said, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” Open Doors reports that Pakistan is the seventh most difficult nation worldwide in which to be a Christian. More US missionaries rescued from Haiti More U.S. missionaries stranded in Haiti, after criminal gangs overran the country in late February, have been rescued after weeks of waiting, reports The Christian Post. In a Facebook statement Sunday night, Jill Dolan of Love A Neighbor ministry who has been working as a missionary in Haiti since October 2013 with her husband, Ryan, reported that she was among those waiting to be rescued. In the midst of national turmoil, a helicopter rescued the Dolan Family. She wrote, “The five in our family who were stuck in Port-au-Prince for 24 days are out of harm's way. However, we leave behind our three children that we are in the process of adopting as well as over 200 kids in our care at the orphanage.” Dolan arrived in Florida at 9 p.m. Saturday. She explained on Facebook that “the crisis in Haiti reaches way beyond just where the gangs are present. The stronghold on the country and the ability for goods and gasoline to travel freely throughout the country have been greatly impacted. Skyrocketing prices, business shutdown, banks closed ... the list goes on. Just when we think it can't get worse in Haiti, it does.” Jill Dolan and her family's Love A Neighbor ministry lived out Matthew 22:37-39 in which Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Biden officials talking about a multinational force in Gaza Biden administration officials are in preliminary “conversations” about options for stabilizing post-war Gaza, including a proposal for the Pentagon to help fund either a multinational force or a Palestinian peacekeeping team, reports Politico.com. The options being considered would not involve U.S. troops on the ground, according to Defense Department officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Instead, Pentagon funding would go toward the needs of the security force and complement assistance from other countries. Asked for comment, a senior Biden administration official said “we are working with partners on various scenarios for interim governance and security structures in Gaza once the crisis recedes.” It could be weeks or months before Washington and its partners approve any plan, especially since regional players want to see a commitment to a so-called two-state solution before seriously engaging with the options. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has categorically rejected the “two state solution” which would establish an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel, in the region west of the Jordan River. Chemical abortion has 4 times the complications as surgical abortion On Tuesday, March 26th, the Supreme Court held a 90-minute long hearing about the Abortion Kill Pill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Today, 63% of mothers who choose to abort do so chemically with mifipristone, not surgically. First, it's deadly to the baby, blocking the hormone called progesterone which God created to stabilize the lining of the uterus. This, in turn, cuts off blood and nourishment to the baby who then dies of starvation inside the mother's womb. Second, the Abortion Kill Pill is dangerous to the mothers who swallow it. Chemical abortions have four times the complications compared to surgical abortions. Indeed, since it came on the market in 2000, the percent of visits to the Emergency Room as a result of chemical abortions, has soared by 500%. In 2020 alone, when 500,000 mothers aborted their babies with the Abortion Kill Pill, 25,000 of them either went to the emergency room or required surgical follow-up. Because they were unable to expel the dead baby, they experienced hemorrhaging, bleeding, and infection which can be life threatening. That's why in August 2023, the Fifth Circuit Court reinstated three minimal standards for the Abortion Kill Pill which: limited the use of the Abortion Kill Pill to the first 7 weeks of pregnancy. ended mail-order chemical abortions. and required in-person medical visits prior to the Abortion Kill Pill being prescribed. Abortion Kill Pill manufacturer complains it is harmed According to Live Action's reporting, there were “four shocking admissions” from the case, including the claim by Danco, the private Abortion Kill Pill manufacturer, that restricting their sales would “injure” their business. Justice Samuel Alito reiterated to Danco attorney Jessica Ellsworth that the Fifth Circuit Court's ruling would not prohibit Danco from selling mifepristone, the Abortion Kill Pill. However, it would prohibit it from being sent through the mail which would limit its sales. ALITO: “I gather your injury is that you think you are going to sell more if the restrictions that previously were in place were lifted.” ELLSWORTH: “Yes.” ALITO: “So, you're going to make more money?” ELLSWORTH: “The injury is that we are prevented from selling our product in line with FDA's scientific judgement about the safe and efficacious use of the drug.” ALITO: “And you're going to be harmed because you're going to sell more.” ELLSWORTH: “Certainly, a company's ability to market its product is a part of how it considers the regulatory scheme that governs its conduct.” Life Magazine makes a comeback And finally, more than two decades after it was shuttered by Time Inc., Life Magazine will be revived, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Shuttered in 2000, Life became known for using photographs to tell stories of the news of the week. Bedford Media, the holding company founded by model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss and her husband, investor Josh Kushner, has acquired the publishing rights to Life. Josh is the brother of Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in law. Kloss said, “We see Life as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Good Friday, March 29th in the year of our Lord 2024. When the Timpview High School seminary council in Provo, Utah had the students write their testimonies and mailing addresses in copies of the Book of Mormon, Sean Dixon joined in, not thinking much of it until 1989 when a letter came in the mail from Pakistan addressed to Sean. Somehow, his testimony had made its way all the way to Stephen Anjum, a Pakistani Christian. Sean and Stephen became pen pals for seventeen years before meeting each other for the first time, and over the course of thirty years, Stephen's missionary efforts spread like wildfire. Sean grew up reading the Book of Mormon, and Stephen first read it in Pakistan in 1988. Alma 37:6

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pakistan flooding claims 1,060 lives Severe flooding in Pakistan has resulted in over 1,060 deaths, and brought on at least $10 billion in damage, amounting to 4% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, reports the Manila Times. Plus, 300,000 homes have been destroyed, and the lives of 33 million people have been impacted. The average salary in Pakistan is $350 per month. One-third of the country is underwater during this intense monsoon season. Pakistani Christian brothers facing death penalty In other news from Pakistan, persecution against Christians is heating up there. The High Court of Lahore recently upheld the death sentences of two Christian brothers charged with blasphemy against Islam, reports International Christian Concern. Tragically, somebody had created a website containing illegal information, and attached the Christians names and contact numbers to it resulting in these serious charges and convictions. Pakistan is the eighth worst country in the world for Christian persecution. Nahum 1:7-8 says, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. But with an overflowing flood, He will make an utter end of its place, and darkness will pursue His enemies.” Fed Chair promises higher interest rates Fed Chairman Jerome Powell made headlines over the weekend by promising higher interest rates and more monetary tightening. In a speech given at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Powell made this promise. POWELL: “We are taking forceful and rapid steps to moderate demand so that it comes into better alignment with supply and to keep inflation expectations anchored. We will keep at it until we're confident the job is done.” He admitted that fed policies would introduce “pain to households and businesses,” but not following through, would cause “far greater pain.” The fallout on the global equities market The global equities market was impacted. Japan's Topix Index dropped 1.8%. Euro Stox dropped about a percent. And the U.S. Nasdaq dropped 4.8% from last Thursday's numbers — still 25% off from last November's high. Fox News reports that Democrat Senators Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Michael Bennet of Colorado, and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, along with Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio, have already voiced concerns. California bans gasoline-powered car sales by 2035 Yesterday, the California Air Resources Board voted to ban all gasoline-powered car sales by 2035, reports NPR. California accounts for about 40% of all electric cars in the U.S., and about 16% of new car sales are non-gasoline powered. On Monday, Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom called it “a groundbreaking, world-leading plan” that “will lead the revolution towards our zero-emission transportation future.” NEWSOME: “If you want to reduce asthma, if you want to mitigate the rise of sea level, if you want to mitigate the loss of ice sheets around the globe, then this is a policy for other states to follow.” Google and Yelp will only guide women to abortion mills Two social media giants are jumping into the fray over abortion. First, Google has committed to only featuring abortion clinics for women seeking information on abortion. This is intended to draw women towards abortion, and away from crisis pregnancy centers. Second, Yelp has already announced that it will provide similar guidance to pregnant women. The policy change comes after a letter was sent by 20+ Congressional Democrats urging Google's president to eliminate search results that might point users to “abortion alternatives.” Google's “doodles” for religious holidays were discontinued years ago, while the company still celebrates homosexual pride month and other perversions. Isaiah 3:8-9 warns that “their tongue and their doings are against the Lord to provoke the eyes of His glory. The look on their countenance witnesses against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.” Pastor Matt Chandler placed on sabbatical On Sunday, the Village Church's Matt Chandler was placed on sabbatical, after it surfaced that he was engaged in inappropriate social media conversations with a woman, not his wife, reports Christian Headlines. The church elders noted in a public statement that the pastor's interactions “failed to meet the 1 Timothy standard for elders being above reproach in this instance.” During the church service in Flower Mound, Texas, which was videostreamed, Chandler explained that the elders concluded that the messages were neither romantic nor sexual. CHANDLER: “They looked into the conversation between me and this other woman, and they had some concerns. Those concerns were not that our messaging was romantic or sexual. It was that our conversations were unguarded and unwise. “And because I don't ever want there to be secrets between us, the concerns were really about frequency and familiarity. We believe in brother-sister relationships here. And yet there was a frequency that moved past that. And there was a familiarity that played itself out in course and foolish joking. It's unbefitting of someone in my position as a lead pastor. As an elder, I'm held to a higher standard and fell short of that higher standard.” Chandler had an emotional response to the discipline of the elders which takes him our of the pulpit for an unforeseen time. CHANDLER: “If I'm honest, I'm just really embarrassed. I feel dumb. I feel like I'm embarrassing my wife and kids, putting a ton of pressure on our staff. But the Word of God holds me to a certain standard, and I fell short.” Chandler is president of the Acts 29 network of 800 churches. A daily news briefing from Catholic News Agency, powered by artificial intelligence. Ask your smart speaker to play “Catholic News,” or listen every morning wherever you get podcasts. www.catholicnewsagency.com - Pope Francis has asked the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors to produce an annual report on what the Catholic Church is doing around the world to prevent the abuse of minors and vulnerable adults. In an audience at the Vatican on April 29, the pope called on the commission to produce the annual audit to promote “transparency and accountability.” Father Andrew Small, the secretary of the commission, responded positively to the pope's request for the report at a press conference following the papal audience. The commission's report will not deal with specific cases, but will provide details on the status of safeguarding policies and procedures, according to Small. This will include how effectively guidelines are being implemented. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/251094/pope-francis-asks-for-annual-report-on-church-s-efforts-to-prevent-abuse A Catholic doctor has been providing medical care to some 1 million people in the Nuba mountains, a contested region between Sudan and South Sudan. The court in Strasbourg, France, said on April 26 that the expulsion of the applicant, identified only as M A M, to Pakistan would violate the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees the right to life and prohibits torture and inhuman or degrading treatment. M A M is a Pakistani national who converted from Islam to Christianity after he arrived in Switzerland in 2015. His asylum application was rejected in 2018. The court said that Swiss officials should have examined his request, which was based on his conversion, in greater detail and taken into account the overall situation of Christian converts in Pakistan as well as the applicant's specific circumstances. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/251092/european-court-sides-with-pakistani-christian-convert Today the Church celebrates Saint Catherine of Siena, a third-order Dominican, peacemaker, and counselor to the Pope. Eugene is joined by Wilson with the British Pakistani Christian Association to discuss some troubling stories about Christian persecution and continued reign of the Muslim government in Pakistan.
Priest delivery service, Pakistani Christian jailed for online blasphemy, the Sistine Chapel visits Texas, J-Dubs face judicial review in Canada, study about Nones, update about American hate pastor in Africa, and appropriating eastern spirituality in the west.
What if the system was rigged against you, just because of what you believe? A Pakistani Christian has had a difficult road to justice after a horrible crime was committed against him and his family. Find out more after this break.
This week we get to hear from the person who brought us into the Audioboom family. And surprisingly they are not South Asian. Diana Velez is a New York born Puerto Rican, or "Nuyorican", who was searching for diverse content stumbled upon our podcast and thought it was great. But aside from the life-changing insight offered on our episodes, there was a more personal appeal. Diana's son is part South Asian as her partner is a Pakistani Christian; which makes her son "Pakirican." Listen in as we dive into the Bollywood proposal that snagged her, the issues that arose as they raised a child, and the cultural differences that ultimately helped end their relationship. Thanks to Diana's generous honesty, we are able to explore some of the challenges and joys of inter-cultural relationships! Listen in and then send us your thoughts!
