Lisa Lopes, also known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. She gained fame as a member of the popular R&B group TLC, alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. Lopes contributed her own self-written raps to many of TLC's hit singles, including “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” 1. Besides her work with TLC, she had a brief solo career, scoring two US top 10 singles with “Not Tonight” and “U Know What's Up,” as well as a UK number-one single with “Never Be the Same Again,” a collaboration with Melanie C of the English girl group Spice Girls. Tragically, on April 25, 2002, Lopes was killed in a car accident in Honduras while volunteering at a children's development center. Her legacy lives on through her music and contributions to the industry. #tlc #lefteye #90s #lisalopez#history #Beverly #mafia #beverlyhils #truecrime #tedbundy #truecrimecommunity #truecrimeaddict #truecrimememes #killers #killer #murder #mindhunter #murderer #kansas #icp #ouijamacc #juggalettes #juggalo #bondage #twiztid #thegathering #murdermuseum #eldorado #odditiesandcuriosities #caveman #oddities #rare #parkcity #death #charlesmanson #jeffreydahmer #edgein #crime #horror #darkart #richardramirez #halloween #criminal #horrorart #creepy #btkart #truecrimeart #truecrimepodcast #cannibal #albertfish #r #thriller #netflix #truecrimejunkie #horrormovies #history #selfie #truecrimefan #homicide #mystery #truecrimeobsessed #scary #serialkillerart #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimepodcast #crime #murder #podcast #truecrimeaddict #serialkiller #serialkillers #truecrimejunkie #horror #unsolved #murderino #podcastersofinstagram #truecrimeobsessed #mystery #ssdgm #truecrimefan #killer #truecrimememes #unsolvedmysteries #creepy #paranormal #podcasts #history #tedbundy #criminal #scary #podcasting #coldcase #murdermystery #bookstagram #death #buzzfeedunsolved #crimescene #truecrimepodcasts #missingperson #missing #halloween #crimejunkie #news #myfavoritemurder #spooky #supernatural #truecrimestories #homicide #ryanbergara #shanemadej #murderer #podcaster #truecrimebooks #memes #spotify #podernfamily #boogara #shaniac #jeffreydahmer #police #s #justice #history #ww #travel #art #photography #architecture #love #culture #nature #travelphotography #photooftheday #s #historia #instagood #historical #worldwar #heritage #india #instagram #museum #italy #war #vintage #memes #picoftheday #ig #europe #photo #explore #ancient#germany #historymemes #usa #beautiful #travelgram #follow #historic #france #music #military #italia #castle #historylovers #a #medieval #life #education #like #facts #landscape #storia #world #old #city #historyfacts #archaeology #upsc #america #wwii #Podcasthost #Aftermath #aftermathpodcast #podcast #binge #bingepodcast #podcasttips newpodcastalert #slander #Hudson #aftermath #history #updates #storiesyouforgotabout #WW1 #WW2 #attack #terrorattack #nostalgia #Queen #mercury #FreddyMercury #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimepodcast #crime #murder #podcast #truecrimeaddict #serialkiller #serialkillers #truecrimejunkie #horror #unsolved #murderino #podcastersofinstagram #truecrimeobsessed #mystery #ssdgm #truecrimefan #killer #truecrimememes #unsolvedmysteries #creepy #paranormal #podcasts #history #tedbundy #criminal #scary #podcasting #coldcase #murdermystery #bookstagram #death #buzzfeedunsolved #crimescene #truecrimepodcasts #missingperson #missing #halloween #crimejunkie #news #myfavoritemurder #spooky #supernatural #truecrimestories #homicide #ryanbergara #shanemadej #murderer #podcaster #truecrimebooks #memes #spotify #podernfam #history #Beverly #mafia #beverlyhils #truecrime #tedbundy #truecrimecommunity #truecrimeaddict #truecrimememes #killers #killer #murder #mindhunter #murderer #kansas #icp #ouijamacc #juggalettes #juggalo #bondage #twiztid #thegathering #murdermuseum #eldorado #odditiesandcuriosities #caveman #oddities #rare #par --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/daniel-hudson9/message

And in the end we chose to duck out of the rain and into the The Hole In The Wall, a beautifully welcoming pub, tucked away just off the seafront, with an excellent selection of beer and cider on keg and cask and from near and far. After loving 26 Below by Kimberley Woodhouse, I've been chomping at the bit to get my hands on 8 Down. Well, it's almost here, and it promises to be even better.  I  mean come on! Watch Out! You May Never Look at Crosswords the Same Again! As I confessed to Kimberley, I was a bit irked when I saw the cover for 8 Down the first time I saw it, but after reading the synopsis and talking to her about this book, I confess to being a hundred percent wrong. It's exactly right.  And the story sounds like something to keep you up until you've finished it. So don't start at bedtime. You may regret it. Then again, you'll have a great book under your belt and an excuse to sleep in. So there's that. Kimberley shared the inspiration for the series as well as some of her research (yikes!) and mentioned she thought the cover for the next book, 70 North might be out by the time this episode releases.  Guess what?  It is!  EEEP!  Check it out. It's gorgeous! 8 Down by Kimberley Woodhouse 8 bodies down. 8 more lives at stake. Investigator Carrie Kintz is new blood with the Alaska Bureau of Investigation in Anchorage. But with a serial killer on the loose, there's no easing into the job. It's sink or swim. The only clues to help law enforcement stop this madman are the taunts he drops into crossword puzzles across the country--always in the same 8 DOWN position. Carrie is desperate to prove her worth to the force and the community by catching the killer. But when she discovers signs that these deaths are just the tip of the iceberg in a frighteningly elaborate cyberattack, it's time to admit she needs help. Calling in security specialist Scott Patteson for his expertise seems like the right move--until Carrie realizes that he may be a dangerous distraction for her heart. With her faith fading in the face of horror and uncertainty and her career in danger of ending, this is no time for flirtation. But with a killer who is determined to prove that he's smarter than everyone else, it may be impossible to fight both the madman and their feelings for each other . . . Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping received the royal treatment in San Francisco—complete with hundreds of Chinese flags and Communist anthems playing on loudspeakers—showing where our leaders' loyalties ultimately lie. There's a contradiction at the heart of beer, drinking and pub culture. Sharing a drink with your mates, or even just with the people you only ever see down your local... is great for your mental health. Support, community, conversation and laughter are all good positive things. And yet... Alcohol is dangerous. Sadly it is that simple. It's too easy to drink to self-medicate or attempt to ease anxiety is a non-healthy way. All of which makes this episode about beer and mental health absolutely fascinating. Emma Inch is a highly regarded beer writer and critic... and also a mental health professional. She is about to launch a podcast called 'Same Again' which will explore this exact subject, so I wanted to talk to her about it and support the discussion she is trying to enable. As well as mental health, we discuss Emma's beer writing (she has written with some legends in the game, let's put it that way) and she has some cracking recommendations on beers to try from near and far. When you look at the world, it can feel like we're in a precarious moment. If you've listened to past episodes, you know we call this the meta-crisis — an era of overlapping and interconnected crises like climate change, polarization, and the rise of decentralized technologies like synthetic biology. It can feel like we're on a path to destroy ourselves. That's why we're talking to Rick Doblin, the founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, or MAPS. They're a nonprofit focused on educating and researching the benefits of using psychedelic therapy to address PTSD and promote humane ways of relating worldwide.Doblin's vision is for nothing less than a transformation of society through psychedelic-assisted therapy – not for the drugs themselves, but for their ability to help us react to one another with compassion, appreciate differences, and accept criticism.Given the perma-crisis we face, it's provocative to think about a tool that, when prescribed and used safely, could help us overcome rivalrous dynamics out in the world and on social media. If we rescue our hijacked brains, we can heal from the constant trauma inflation we get online, and shrink the perception gap that splits us into tribes. Both MAPS and Center for Humane Technology want to understand what helps minds heal and be free. We invite you to keep an open mind about a different kind of humane technology as you listen to this episode. Correction: Doblin attributes a quote to Stan Grof about psychedelics helping your ego be “transparent to the transcendent.” In his book Pathways to Bliss, Joseph Campbell wrote, "When a deity serves as a model for you, your life becomes transparent to the transcendent as long as you realize the inspiring power of that deity. This means living not in the name of worldly success and achievement, but rather in the name of the transcendent, letting the energy manifest through you.” Grof was likely paraphrasing Campbell's work and applying it to psychedelics. Additional credits:The episode contains an original musical composition by Jeff Sudakin. Used with permission. RECOMMENDED MEDIA Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)The non-profit founded by Rick Doblin in 1986 focused on developing medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana. Last weekend I had the amazing opportunity to attend Unleash The Power Within with Tony Robbins. 4 days, 60 hours, over 26,000 people. What an amazing experience!!! The tag line of this program is "Live Will Never be the Same Again". To be viciously honest on Day 0 I had my guards up and wasn't sure how 4 days can have that type of impact but today I totally know and feel it does! I had told my husband and friends that I was going to be attending this training. Today I realize it's not a training, is an immersive experience that has the power to change something inside of you. I am sure I am doing a disfavor to UPW with this episode where I share some of the takeaways because it's not possible to explain with words what UPW is and the impact it can have someone's life. ____________________________________________________ Learn more about UPW and get a ticket at a discount price: https://www.upwvirtual.com/share-upw#section--33928 Book recommendations: Believe it - https://amzn.to/3uiu7Xx Life Force - https://amzn.to/3IxRjGg --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/leading-yourself/message

People of the world! Spice Up Your Life! Because Melanie C is the today's guest on Reign! We celebrate 25 years of the Spice Girls, and I think I have been her number one fan for that long! I can still remember my playground Spice Girls renditions with my other four spices - unfortunately I didn't quite have the vocal range. The Spice Girls not only sold over 100 million records worldwide with they huge hits, but in a world where men still dominated our culture - especially in music - their message of ‘Girl Power' taught an entire generation about feminism and kicked the patriachy in the balls - right where it needed it! Melanie went on to have a hugely successful solo career with bangers like I Turn To You, Never Be the Same Again, and When You're Gone with Bryan Adams, selling 23 million records in the process. 2021 saw Melanie hitting the top ten with her self-titled album, showing that after three decades in the music business she is showing no signs of stopping, thank you very much! After recently appearing on Dancing With The Stars in the USA, Melanie joins me for a chat that has tears, laughter and a whole lot more. We talk about the sexism that Spice Girls dealt with during their career, the allegations surrounding Melanie's sexuality after she cut her hair short when launching her solo career, and just how classy a night out with the Spice Girls was. Plot spoiler it involved a lot of cheap alcohol - that's our kinda gals! Melanie also opens up about the body image issues that have affected her life and how her mental health left her contemplating whether life would be easier if she wasn't around. PLUS get ready to join our campaign because Melanie reveals that Glastonbury would be the ONE event that would get all five of the Spice Girls back together. Get those placards and those wellies and let's make this happen queens! I hope you love this episode as much as I do - it's a real honour to be joined by such an ICON and I really hope you continue to listen and find the power to Reign in your own lives, too. TL Cross comes from a musical background that spans back to when his grandfather hosted his own radio show and further extends to his father, aunts and uncles, most of whom were major-label gospel artists and musicians. Nowadays, the 25-year-old singer/songwriter/producer has successes of his own. His writing credits include "I'll Make It Right" (Usher), "Whereareyougoing" (Musiq Soulchild), "I'll Be Right There" (112) and "Get It On Tonite" (Montell Jordan), which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 2000. He's produced for such artists as Ghostface Killah ("Never B the Same Again," featuring Carl Thomas) and DMX ("Goodbye") while Yolanda Adams, Donnell Jones and Case are among those who have tapped him as a backing singer. Today, Cross is co-CEO of Da Gutta Fam production/record company, an entity he and his partners hope will be picked up by a major label en bloc. They're currently working on projects with Nas, LeToya Luckett and Jamie Foxx. "Da Gutta Fam is the umbrella and TL Cross is the trailblazer," Cross says. "We have solid producers and hitmakers. We've had A-list artists choose us to make music for them." Cross has further dealt with majors as part of the quartet Morrison Slick, a group whose previous incarnations have released records via Island and Motown. Morrison Slick later signed a songwriting deal with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis before becoming part of Da Gutta Fam.

Elaine Maimon has been an executive leader at three public universities, including Governors State University, south of Chicago, where she served as president from 2007 until 2020.  She's a forceful advocate for the educational needs of “new majority” students: working adults, veterans, students from low-income backgrounds and communities of color.  But unlike some other thought-leaders, she insists that these students—like all undergraduates—need and deserve an education that integrates the arts and humanities, civic engagement, and meaningful preparation for work.  At Governors State, Maimon led a series of curricular and institutional changes that modeled this vision, even as the university faced the Great Recession, a budget-cutting debacle in the Illinois higher-ed system, and the Covid-19 pandemic.   In this conversation, we talk about the needs of new-majority students, the imperative of melding liberal and career-oriented learning, and how to move “from triage to transformation,” as Maimon puts it, in the face of crisis.   Elaine Maimon's book, Leading Academic Change: Vision, Strategy, Transformation, offers a rich account of her experience and values as an academic change-maker.  Her recent essay, “Higher Ed Will Never Be the Same Again,” touches on many of the themes of our conversation.   The Way Forward is a production of Bringing Theory to Practice; to learn more about our work, visit us at www.bttop.org.  Send us your thoughts—and suggestions for future episodes—at info@btop.org.  The podcast is produced by Jabari Butler, and Dan Rudin composed our music.

As part of the Europe's Borderlands research group at the King's College London European Studies Department, this podcast series will take a deeper look at how the United Kingdom's crisis of unity will affect the nations on the islands of Britain and Ireland. In this opening episode we will explore the historical legacies that have fuelled support for nationalist movements in Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, and how the impact of these legacies might affect a changing UK as well as an increasingly powerful European Union. This week's show, recorded on 17 January, we are honoured to have Peter Geoghegan as our guest, who as investigations editor for OpenDemocracy has covered some of the key factors destabilising the politics of the British state. In his acclaimed Democracy for Sale: Dark Money and Dirty Politics, Peter set out how a surge of undisclosed donations have reshaped British politics. In The People's Referendum: Why Scotland will Never Be the Same Again he provided a compelling argument for how the 2014 referendum on Scottish independence fundamentally transformed British politics. As a incisive observer of the politics of the islands of Britain and Ireland, Peter is the ideal guide for our journey through the past century of political endings and beginnings that have brought the British state close to breaking point. The background music is by Brother Monsplaisir, and the production work for this podcast was by Daniel Mansfield.

What is the song that people hear coming from you?” May you be both encouraged and challenged. The post Never the Same Again appeared first on Immanuel Baptist Church.

We go deep on context (4:00), "Tight Connection" (8:00), "Seeing the Real You at Last" (8:30), "I'll Remember You" (11:20), "Clean Cut Kid" (13:00), "Never Gonna Be the Same Again" (17:15), "Trust Yourself" (21:00), "Emotionally Yours" (24:30), "When the Night Comes Falling From the Sky" (28:00), "Something's Burning, Baby" (34:00), a weird vocal static that prompted us to get new mics!, "Dark Eyes" (37:00). Kelly recommends our playlist and Life After Beth on Netflix. Daniel suggests Idles Joy as a Force of Resistance., Alkaline Trio, Aaron Lee Tasjan and Waxahatchee (40:30). As always, full show notes at our website. Season 2 Finale!  As Season 2 of the Chapter Be Podcast comes to a close, I find myself really wanting to take some time to reflect - more specifically, reflect on the importance of reflection! We rarely take the time to look back at what we have accomplished and use those learnings as a way to drive our next steps. Good teaching always allows space for the learner to reflect on the information they have just consumed, and it is equally important that we do this with our own lives... Lindsey Stone is Chapter Be's guest blogger for the month of December. Lindsey was one of the co-founders of Clean Getaway Soap Company, which she started with her husband, Mikel. Yet, after seven years in business, they made the decision to retire it - even though it was what many would deem a success. Lindsey writes about this decision in her piece, Begin Again, as well as how quitting one thing just allows room for something else to blossom.  Features Things Will Never Be the Same Again by jj
