Dan's first of two tales is a really in-depth and unsettling modern encounter claim revolving around a doll. As a little girl, Caroline quickly realized something was wrong with the doll in the blue dress. And the longer she had it, the more wrong it became. Then we head back almost a century to unearth an old, documented paranormal legend. During one terrifying winter in 1939, something with a scream "like a banshee" sent an entire corner of West Virginia into a frenzy, drawing hunters from across the country into the Appalachian wilderness. Was the mysterious Blue Devil simply the last gray wolf in the state or did the people of Grassy Creek spend months chasing something far stranger? Then Lynze brings us two really big tales this week! Her takes place in a very unassuming place, a conference center. Did the overnight security guard encounter the spirit of a woman or was his mind only playing tricks on him? Lastly, Grant Mansion is the fictitious name this fan gives to the very real and very haunted house she grew up in. Wednesday, July 29th at 2pm, the one and only Bad Magic Skatepark is opening!! A stagnant long-term marriage comes to a shocking end when one member of the couple is murdered in their own home. But was the killer the spouse, the wife's lover, or any of the husband's mistresses? As a third generation Angelino, Hannah Einbinder reps her city hard. “I pledge allegiance to the United States of Los Angeles,” she declared proudly to Chloe on the latest episode of The Run-Through podcast, “I love LA from the tip to the tail.” Right now, Einbinder is making the rounds on one of her biggest press tours to date ahead of the premiere of Jane Schoenbrun's third tongue twister of a film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Einbinder stars as Kris, a young queer director, who is working on a revival of a slasher horror franchise. Prior to working on the project, slashers were a bit of a blindspot for Einbinder, though she was well-versed in the great horror genre and cited Silent Hill as the scariest movie she's seen. “I see a huge link between comedy and horror,” Einbinder observed, noting that this film is as funny as it is scary, “I think that it kind of creates the same thing in the body, like this buildup of tension with this big release. I think that's why you see so many, like, comedians go in that direction. Like, you look at Jordan Peele and that, to me, makes so much sense.” Along those lines, Einbinder pointed out that Schoenbrun actually has a comedy background and did sketch comedy at UCB many moons ago. The two of them became quite close working on the film, which like Schoenbrun's prior film, I Saw The TV Glow, is a work of autofiction and an allegory for queerness and transition. This film required them to explore topics of dissociation relative to sex. “I feel like many of us have not taken the time to examine how universal it is.” Einbinder hasn't yet settled on her look for the premiere, but she is already considering how she is going to accessorize. She intends to visit a New York City based nail artist who uses the moniker claws by joy to get a bloody, slasher style manicure. As a major Hacks fan, Chloe also brought up her favorite duo: Ava Daniels and Deborah Vance. While the show has reached its conclusion, she and Jean Smart are in regular contact and sharing memes. “She's absolutely out of control,” Einbinder said of Smart's meme sharing tendencies. Einbinder won her first Emmy for the series back in the fall and when asked where she displays it, she sheepishly revealed that she keeps it tucked away. She explained that her grandfather was a decorated war hero and when he passed, the family found all of his medals in a manila envelope in a drawer. “And so I kinda figure if, like, if that guy's not putting his stuff out,” she said trailing off, “I thought he was so swag for doing that.” The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. In the mid-1970's, a small college radio station created an evening program catering to a new socioeconomic group referred to as the “new Black middle class.” The show was called “The Quiet Storm” and it grew so popular that an entire genre of music would spring up alongside it. Artists like Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, and many more would find massive success in the genre, performing smooth and sexy songs you could turn on after a long day. A serial killer who kept his victims' heads, a woman held under a waterbed for seven years, and a phantom passenger who vanishes from the back seat — the open road has taken more than its share.EPISODE BLOG PAGE (includes sources): https://weirddarkness.com/HitchhikingHorrorsREAD or DOWNLOAD the full transcript of this episode: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/29xmnbkaFEATURED STORIES IN THIS EPISODE: The open road is a beautiful place where you can make friends that you'd otherwise never meet and have adventures that will change your life. But there are also extreme dangers to traveling with strangers on highways and backroads. No matter how trustworthy or well-intentioned a driver might seem, it's nearly impossible to tell if they are actually a predator or murderer, preying upon innocent hitchhikers. Creepy, true hitchhiker stories can make you think twice before picking up that stranger at the side of the road - or trying to "thumb it" yourself.LISTEN ON PODCAST APPS: Look for this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, and other podcast apps. Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: January, 2021Weird Darkness gathers the true horrors of the open road and the ghosts said to haunt it, moving from real hitchhiker murders across the United States and abroad to the phantom passengers who vanish from the back seat before the ride is over.It opens with the account of a newly married couple driving through a rainstorm who stop for a soaked hitchhiker, drop him at a crossroads, and later break down on a dark stretch of highway, only for the wife to wake to police floodlights and the sight of the same man atop their car with a machete over her husband's dismembered body, an escaped prison inmate cut down by gunfire moments after she runs. From there the show turns to a long run of documented and reported cases. Jacci Ansell-Lamb was last seen hitchhiking from London toward Manchester in May 1970 and found sexually assaulted and strangled with electrical wire outside Knutsford, England, a killing police have linked to serial murderer Peter Tobin though no suspect was ever charged. A German traveler on foot near Timaru, New Zealand had all his belongings stolen by a man in a white Honda in February 2016. Along Australia's outback near the cattle town of Hughenden, as many as twelve hitchhikers including eighteen-year-old Catherine Graham and thirty-two-year-old Tony Jones turned up dead over roughly two decades on a stretch dubbed the Highway of Death, the murders still unsolved. On May 19, 1977, twenty-year-old Colleen Stan was hitchhiking to a friend's birthday in California when Cameron Hooker picked her up and held her as a sex slave for seven years, keeping her in a box beneath his waterbed until his wife helped her escape in 1984 and Hooker drew a 104-year sentence.Next comes the case of Edmund Kemper, the six-foot-nine "Co-ed Killer" born December 18, 1948, who shot his grandmother and grandfather at fifteen, was released from a psychiatric hospital into his mother's care, and between May 1972 and February 1973 picked up hitchhiking female students, killed and decapitated them, and had sex with the corpses before murdering his mother with a claw hammer on Good Friday 1973 and phoning the same local police he drank with to confess. Woven among these are firsthand accounts shared online, among them a driver whose kindness reportedly talked a would-be killer out of his plan, a New Zealand couple who vanished in 1989 near Thames leading to the disputed conviction of David Tamihere, and a backpacker in Austria who fled a trucker's advances barefoot at a gas station. From there the episode moves deeper into unsolved and predatory cases. Between 1972 and 1973 the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders claimed at least seven women in Sonoma County, California, beginning with nineteen-year-old Kim Wendy Allen found bound and strangled in a creek bed on March 5, 1972, and including twelve-year-olds Maureen Sterling and Yvonne Weber, thirteen-year-old Lori Lee Kursa, fourteen-year-old Carolyn Davis, and twenty-three-year-old Theresa Walsh, the case never closed. The segment also gathers the crimes of clown-costumed killer John Wayne Gacy, trucker Keith Hunter Jesperson who dragged one victim beneath his rig, photographer Joseph Naso the "Alphabet Killer," the spree killers Douglas Gretzler and Willie Steelman, and sadistic trucker Ben Rhoades, caught when an Arizona trooper found a shackled woman inside his cab.The episode closes on the phantom hitchhiker, tracing the folk formula of the vanishing passenger before laying out the strongest real-world cases. One belongs to Maria Roux, killed on the N9 near Uniondale, South Africa on Good Friday 1968, whose specter was reported by driver Anton Le Grange in 1976 and motorcyclist Dawie Van Jaarsveld in 1978, her rear door seen opening and closing by a following officer. Another is "Lydia" of Jamestown, North Carolina, the white-gowned figure sighted at a railroad underpass since the 1920s and possibly rooted in the 1920 traffic death of Annie Jackson on the High Point Road. The final account belongs to carpet fitter Roy Fulton of Dunstable, England, who picked up a silent young man on Station Road near Stanbridge on October 12, 1979, turned to offer him a cigarette, and found the seat empty, a story he repeated without change on Arthur C. Clarke's World of Strange Powers in 1985.

What do you do when it’s over? Not when it’s hard. Not when it’s uncertain. Not when things could still work out. What do you do when it’s OVER? When the divorce papers are signed. When the prodigal still hasn’t come home. When the doctor’s report confirms your worst fear. When the bank account is empty. When the addiction wins again. When what was already bad somehow gets worse. What do you do when you’ve prayed, believed, hoped, waited, and fought … and the situation is now lying in a grave of impossibility? Because if we’re honest, every one of us will face something that feels dead. A dead dream. A dead relationship. A dead opportunity. A dead hope. A dead part of ourselves. Life happens. Hell attacks. Hearts break. And there are moments when we simply cannot see a way forward. Maybe that’s where you are today. Maybe you’ve reached the place where you’ve stopped asking, “How will God do it?” and you’ve started wondering, “CAN God do it at all?” If so, I want to remind you of something that has never changed: Our God is not stopped by the grave. The grave is where human ability ends, but it is not where God’s power ends. In fact, throughout Scripture, God has a habit of showing up where things appear most hopeless. When Sarah’s womb was too old. When Israel was trapped at the Red Sea. When Ezekiel stood in a valley of dry bones. When Lazarus had been dead four days. When Jesus Himself was placed in a tomb. Again and again, God steps into situations everyone else has declared finished. Because what is impossible with man has never been impossible with God. Matthew 19:26 says: “With God all things are possible.” And hidden inside that one sentence are three life-changing truths. With God. All things. Are possible. 1. With God. Not without him, but with him. Whatever you’re going through, are you going through this WITH God? Or are you trying to do this on your own? Are you pushing through with your own strength, looking for your own answers? Are you relying on someone else, but that someone else isn’t God? You will fail and so will everyone else. This is ONLY WITH GOD. So, how do you do this WITH GOD? You seek him. You talk to him. You read his word. You fill your life with nothing but God, then every area of your life is under his power. I’m talking about the music you listen to, the friends you talk to, the books you read, the things you watch. Have you heard that song, “Dusty Bibles”? It says: We got dust on our Bibles, brand-new iPhones No wonder why we feel this way We walk with our eyes closed, blind leading blind folks And I’m done with those idols and dusty Bibles Is there dust on your Bible? Yeah – no wonder why you feel this way. You’ve been trying to do this with WITHOUT God, and my friend, it simply won’t work. Looking back on my own journey, I realize just how patient the Lord has been with me. I tried to do this without him for so many years. I even used him to make my things grow. But it wasn’t about him, it wasn’t for him, and it wasn’t really with him. And yet, he allowed me to do it my own way. He didn’t strike me with lightening. He didn’t even publicly shame me. But what he did do, is he allowed me to create my own messes and struggle. And through his gracious allowance of struggle, I finally came to realize I don’t even WANT to do this without him. Is that where you are? Are you finally seeing through God’s gracious allowance of messes and struggles that you no longer want to do this on your own? Are you finally at the point of surrender in your life where you’re truly praying, “God, if you’re in it, I want it … but if you’re not, I don’t.” Yes, girl, this is learning to do life WITH GOD. And with God, ALL THINGS … 2. All things. Not just some things, but truly all things. This means the things that have always been too big and too hard. The things that seem too far gone, too late, too hopeless. The things that are buried, without life, without a future. That’s ALL things. There has never been a moment when Jesus looked at a situation and said, “Well, that’s beyond me.” Cancer isn’t beyond Him. Addiction isn’t beyond Him. A prodigal isn’t beyond Him. A broken marriage isn’t beyond Him. A shattered heart isn’t beyond Him. Death itself isn’t beyond Him. In fact, one day Jesus walked directly into a funeral procession and completely interrupted it. Luke 7:11-15, “Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.” The funeral was already under way. They were walking this young man’s body to the grave. His life was over. And not only his life, but his mother’s life. Notice the detail is given that this woman was a widow and this young man was her only son. In this culture, that meant not only grief, but this meant desperation. Yes, it was the death of a child, but it was also the absolute crash of her future. Without a husband or a son, she was left without care and faced a life of extreme poverty. And when Jesus became aware of this need, His heart overflowed with compassion. No one asked Him to step in with His power. No one expected Him to change the situation. But His heart responded to her broken heart. The miracle began because Jesus was moved by compassion. Jesus sees what nobody else sees. He sees the tears you hide. He sees the burden you carry. He sees the disappointment you don’t talk about. He sees the thing that keeps you awake at night. And just as His heart overflowed with compassion for that widow, His heart is moved by your pain. He’s not indifferent. He’s not distant. He’s not unaware. He is responding. The miracle—YOUR miracle—begins with the compassion of Jesus. Now understand the true significance of this scene. The body isn’t being carried in a closed coffin; it’s more like a wooden stretcher. The young man is likely wrapped in burial cloths. Under Jewish law, touching something associated with a corpse brought ceremonial uncleanness. Everyone else was moving away from what was dead. Jesus moved toward it. Everyone else saw a corpse. Jesus saw an opportunity for resurrection. Everyone else saw an ending. Jesus saw a beginning. Without even being asked, Jesus walks right up to the body and touches him. Not a coffin as we imagine, but an open stretcher where the dead man is lying. Yes, that’s our Jesus. Throughout the Gospels, we see Him touching lepers, touching the sick, and touching the dead. And never once did the uncleanness spread to Him. Instead, His life spread to them. That’s what happens when Life Himself shows up. “With God all things ARE POSSIBLE.” 3. Are possible. ARE POSSIBLE. Not probable. Not likely. Not easy. Not immediate. But possible. Because the possibility doesn’t depend on you. It depends on God. And if God is involved, the story is never over. If God is involved, the grave never gets the final word. If God is involved, what appears dead today may be alive tomorrow. Yes, your too-far-gone situation. Your without-hope circumstance. Your dead dream. Your untouchable mess. Your shame. Your struggle. Your brokenness. When it is brought to Jesus and touched by Him, it can receive His life. I assure you this is your answer. That thing you’ve been struggling with for years and seem powerless to change—it needs the touch of Jesus. That relationship everyone has given up on and left for dead—it needs the touch of Jesus. That habit you keep fighting but never seem to defeat—it needs the touch of Jesus. That dream you buried because disappointment convinced you it would never happen—it needs the touch of Jesus. That part of your heart that has grown cold, weary, and numb—it needs the touch of Jesus. The same Jesus who walked into a funeral procession and interrupted death is still interrupting impossible situations today. Then Jesus spoke these simple words: “Young man, I tell you, get up.” And death had to let go. The young man sat up. He began to speak. Life rushed back into what moments before had been lifeless. What if the thing you’ve declared dead is only waiting for the voice of Jesus? What if the story isn’t over? What if God is not standing at a distance from your impossible situation, but is already walking toward it? What if the marriage isn’t beyond Him? What if the prodigal isn’t beyond Him? What if the diagnosis isn’t beyond Him? What if the dream isn’t beyond Him? What if your story isn’t over? The widow thought she was walking her son to a grave. She had no idea she was walking him into the presence of Jesus. And maybe that’s where you are today. What feels like a funeral may actually be the setting for a resurrection. Because our God has never been intimidated by dead things. He speaks to dry bones and they rattle back to life. He stands before Lazarus’ tomb and calls him out. He steps into a funeral procession and sends everyone home stunned. He walks out of His own grave on the third day. And He is still the God who brings life where everyone else sees death. So don’t bury what God is still breathing on. Don’t abandon what God is still working on. Don’t give up on what God hasn’t given up on. Because with God… ALL THINGS… ARE POSSIBLE. Audio producer Christopher Johnson made a piece about The Quiet Storm for the legendary podcast about design 99% Invisible and he joins Anna to talk about why Quiet Storm music will always feel like home to him.You can listen to The Quiet Storm playlist from 99% Invisible here and check out the seasons of Slow Burn that Christopher worked on here: Season 3 - Biggie and Tupac and Season 4 - David Duke. Was Nolan Wells's death a terrible accident, or did something happen on that island that nobody wants to say out loud? The honest answer is that no one can tell you yet — and that uncertainty is exactly why this case deserves more care than the internet is giving it.Nolan Wells, 18, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, went out to a barrier island with friends and didn't come back. His body was recovered from the water two days later. The sheriff's early framing was that he chose to stay behind. The autopsy is finished but sealed. And in the absence of facts, two camps have hardened — one convinced of foul play, one convinced everyone should let it go. Neither has the evidence to be that certain. This breakdown steps back from the shouting. It examines why Nolan ended up alone out there, why the emergency response lagged, and why Mississippi's own past — the kind that includes Emmett Till and Medgar Evers — makes it reasonable for people to demand a real investigation instead of a quick official reassurance. It also insists on the other half: that a demand for scrutiny can't curdle into convicting people no one has met, and that a tragic accident, if that's what this turns out to be, deserves the same respect as any other truth. The Wells family isn't asking for a verdict. They're asking for answers. This is a look at why those answers can only come from evidence — the autopsy, the toxicology, the video, the witnesses — and never from whichever side yells the loudest.END_LINKS:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? www.patreon.com/theconspiracypodcastIn Part Two, Sean, Jorge, and Eric dive straight into the theories that have kept the Isdal Woman's case alive for over half a century. She died in a Norwegian valley under at least eight false identities, and fifty-five years later, no one still knows who she really was. Was she a Cold War intelligence operative, her movements lining up suspiciously close to Norway's top-secret missile testing sites while the country's secret police quietly opened their own file behind the scenes? Was she connected to a Swiss banker infamous for financing Nazi sympathizers and extremist causes across decades? Was she an international fraudster running a long con across the continent, or a woman working discreetly for a clientele who had every reason to stay silent after her death? And underneath every theory sits the same unanswered question: was it suicide, or murder? The guys also break down the forensic science that's chipped away at the mystery over the years — isotope analysis narrowing down where she may have grown up, DNA testing tracing a maternal line to a part of the world none of her fake passports ever claimed — and how a fifty-year-old cold case turned into one of the most successful true crime podcasts ever made. Tens of thousands of amateur investigators from around the world are still hunting for answers today, still combing through old sketches and hotel records, still trying to finish what Norwegian police gave up on decades ago. And even after all that science, all that attention, and all those true believers, the Isdal Woman remains buried under a name that was never hers.Let us know your theory. Who was she, and what really happened in Ice Valley?
The TL;DR: What happens when HR tech's most prominent conversational AI platform gets swallowed by an enterprise titan? In this high-octane episode, Chad and Cheese sit down with Adam Godson—the newly crowned GM of Talent Acquisition Products at Workday—to dissect the aftermath of the Paradox acquisition. Forget standard corporate buzzwords; this is a raw look at how AI "agents" are systematically dismantling traditional software, why the SAS pricing model is officially on life support, and what it actually takes to survive the "SAS Apocalypse." The Death of the "Click-and-Scroll" ATS The "SAS Apocalypse" is Real Resumes are "Lousy" 2D Artifacts Recruiting is Splitting in Two "What you get rid of is the people that wish they were talking to candidates, but are clicking buttons in the system. And that's a good thing." — Adam Godson Why it matters: This episode serves as a blueprint for the next five years of recruitment tech. In the Mouth of Madness (1994) Directed by John Carpenter Starring: Sam Neill, Jürgen Prochnow, Julie Carmen, David WarnerThere's a scene in In the Mouth of Madness with a "little fucking flappy arm thing" pretending to be an unspeakable cosmic horror, and honestly, that's the whole movie in a nutshell. This week we dig into John Carpenter's 1994 slow-burn descent into madness starring Sam Neill as an insurance investigator who gets way, way too invested in finding a missing horror novelist. Spoiler: reality is a construct and also everyone in New Hampshire is exceptionally fucking stupid. In this episode, we discuss:Sam Neill Carries This Whole Damn Movie — He's arrogant, he's a prick, and he still manages to sell a believable descent into madness. We break down why his performance is doing more heavy lifting than anyone else in the cast. The Flappy Arm Problem — When your Lovecraftian monster looks like a dollar-store bath toy, you've got issues. We get into why the movie's practical effects and CGI just don't hold up, especially next to what Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 were doing years earlier on bigger budgets.Two-Thirds Boring, One-Third Bonkers — We go back and forth on pacing: one of us thinks it's a slow burn that pays off, the other thinks it's a whole lot of driving around New England before anything actually happens. What's the Worst They Can Do? Chop You Up — We rant about horror movie logic, townspeople who won't run from hellhound Dobermans, and why nobody in this film has ever considered just flooring it.We Also Talked About:MTV's The Real World Reunion (Seasons 1-3) (Youtube) – A nostalgic dive into early reality TV and why Robert Smith deserved better than "Friday I'm in Love."Don't Pick Up the Phone (2024) (Netflix) – A Netflix documentary about a decade-long phone hoax scam that hit fast food chains across the country.Sherman's March (1985) (Ok.Ru) – A bizarre, unexpectedly charming documentary about one filmmaker's romantic misadventures while loosely retracing a Civil War general's path.Kick of Death (1997) (Tubi) – A Troma karate flop so boring it's not even fun to make fun of.Billy the Exterminator (Tubi) – A guilty-pleasure reality show about a Hot Topic goth exterminating alligators in Louisiana. The Death and Life of Lamar Odom (Netflix) – An Untold documentary on Netflix covering addiction, tragedy, and a truly unbelievable overdose story.Pharmacist Grant Harting on YouTube – He's a licensed pharmacistin four states, buys gas station boner pills, breaks down the ingredients, and takes them before going on a blind date to see what happens. Some of the above links are affiliate links — if you purchase through them we get a small kickback, and it's the best way to support the show.New episodes of the Dewey Pod Monster podcast drop every week. Marking his silver anniversary on Christian radio, professional counselor Brother Mike from the Arizona Deliverance Center delivers a sobering look at end-times prophecy in this episode of Hardcore Christianity. Dive into a deep-dive study of the fourth seal of Revelation, unpacking the spiritual and historical weight of the "Death Horse." Learn how modern warfare and geopolitical conflicts serve as precursors to the Tribulation, and why securing your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most urgent decision you can make today. Key Takeaways: The Green Horse of Death: A linguistic breakdown of the Greek word chloros (pale green) and thanatos (death) used in the fourth seal, revealing the identity of the final rider (Revelation 6:7-8). The Antichrist's Secretary of War: Exploring the rise of the Antichrist and his appointment of a supernatural "Secretary of War" given power to slaughter a fourth of the earth's population—amounting to roughly 2 billion people today. The Staggering Toll of Conflict: A historical comparison of humanity's bloodiest conflicts—including World War II, the Taiping Rebellion, the Mongol Conquests, and World War I—demonstrating how previous mass casualties pale in comparison to what is prophesied for the second half of the Tribulation. Satan’s Ultimate Harvest: Understanding why the enemy instigates warfare, utilizing mass casualties to quickly harvest souls before they can find salvation. Geopolitics in 2026: A candid discussion on current global flashpoints, including conflicts involving Iran, Russia and Ukraine, Sudan, and the Middle East, viewing them through the lens of biblical prophecy. Featured Bible Passages: Revelation 6:7-8 – The opening of the fourth seal and the riding of the pale horse. Welcome back to another episode of NDS Chronicles, where David Lee Corbo (The Raven), TopLobsta, and Matt Hepner read and react to real paranormal testimonies submitted by listeners. This episode explores strange encounters, supernatural experiences, cryptid reports, spiritual warfare, and the Biblical worldview behind the unexplained. From eerie stories that begin like Bigfoot encounters to discussions about the mysterious "hitchhiker effect," UFOs, demons, witchcraft, and spiritual deception, the hosts examine these reports through the lens of Scripture rather than popular paranormal culture. They also discuss how supernatural encounters can sometimes escalate into broader spiritual experiences, drawing connections between cryptid sightings, poltergeist activity, and Biblical discernment. The conversation expands into topics including the modern UFO phenomenon, MKUltra, telepathy, Hollywood's portrayal of aliens, and why the Bible remains the ultimate framework for understanding supernatural events. Rather than accepting paranormal claims at face value, the hosts compare testimony against Biblical teaching and encourage Christians to exercise wisdom and discernment. The episode also includes updates on Brohemian Grove, upcoming live events, the Nephilim Death Squad community, listener submissions, and future guests from the paranormal and Christian research communities. If you enjoy conversations about:Paranormal testimoniesUFOs and alien encountersBigfoot and cryptidsDemonic deceptionSpiritual warfareBiblical prophecyChristian apologeticsConspiracy research through a Biblical lens...then this episode is for you.Have you experienced something supernatural? July 21, 2026Today's Reading: Romans 6:19-23Daily Lectionary: 1 Samuel 4:1-22; Acts 17:1-34; Acts 16:23-40“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.Calling the faithful “slaves of God” in the year of our Lord 2025 feels uncomfortable. It feels like it needs a lot of context for what it isn't. Paul doesn't give it. Instead of his next words justifying the hyperbole, he justifies the sinner. He doesn't minimize what slavery looks like. He just asks us to consider how freedom in regard to righteousness actually goes. You are either slaves to sin or slaves to God because you're not actually God. To Paul, it's not even a question of ability. It's a question of whether or not it would be a good thing if you were. If you actually were the most powerful being in the universe…how would that go? Back before you belonged to God, what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. It's your death because you're not God. But if you were, how would it not just be someone else's death who got in your way? Instead of arguing over whether or not your sinful flesh is powerful enough to escape the grave, Paul asks whether or not having sinful flesh is good in the first place. Whether it be your death or the death of everyone who got in your way, God would rather it be His. The wages of sin is death, and so He pays it for you. The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. You are not free. You have a Lord. There are other lords. Many try to be lords themselves. But yours is the one who lays down His life to save yours. Rather than bickering about who's in charge, Paul points to the results—your salvation. You are not free in regard to righteousness. You are not free to sin. You are free from it, though. You are free from death. On the Last Day, you will rise. You are even free from having to deal with all the enemies in your way to live. Sin. Death. The power of the devil. All come undone in Him who owns you and treats you as a treasure. Calling the faithful “slaves of God” was never a comfortable statement. It was never supposed to be. Rather, Paul lets our comfort be in Him who sets us free from death. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. When You woke that Thursday morning, Savior, teacher, faithful friend, Thoughts of self and safety scorning, Knowing how the day would end; Lamb of God, foretold for ages, Now at last the hour had come When but One could pay sin's wages: You assumed their dreadful sum. (LSB 445:1) Rev. Harrison Goodman, Executive Director of Mission and Theology for Higher Things.

George Exoo wasn't a killer, but he found a certain satisfaction in the deaths he witnessed. As a right-to-die activist, he offered his services to those wanting to end their lives at home, despite deep opposition from both within and outside the movement. George ignored criticism, insisting he was called to help people end their suffering, even without a terminal diagnosis. In the end, he facilitated over 100 premature deaths, proclaiming to be a midwife to the dying.RO - https://www.ro.co/lightsoutUS: Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988) & Crisis Text Line - text HOME to 741741Canada: Suicide Crisis Helpline (988)UK: Samaritans (116-123)Reverend Death Documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5v4wr713t4Follow & Subscribe To The Show!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3SfSNbkVrfz3ceXmNr0lZ4Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lights-out/id1505843600Social Links:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lightsoutcastTwitter: http://twitter.com/lightsoutcastInstagram: http://instagram.com/lightsoutcastSuggestions/Comments: lop@milehigher.comMerch: http://milehighermerch.com/Request A Topic Form: https://zfrmz.com/Sp6vsxGQrNoHUfDzvGnNPodcast sponsor inquiries: adops@audioboom.comHost: JoshTwitter: http://twitter.com/milehigherjoshInstagram: http://instagram.com/milehigherjoshCo-Host: IanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ifarme/Editor/Producer: DanielInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/horrororeoSources: https://pastebin.com/tRbU5YS6

Listen to the full episode Matthew considers two registers of painful eulogy: spectacles thrown for elite terrible people, and the music offered for ordinary terrible people, when we can manage it. Lindsey Graham's death triggered a wave of bullshit from Trump, Harris, Booker, Netanyahu, and Canadian PM Mark Carney — while online ghouls predicted the same fate for Mitch McConnell and Trump. Where does the elite eulogy reflex come from? Ancient taboo, Thucydides on praise as a function of a rival's removal, and terror management theory on why elites protect their own at the moment of death. Then we have a music thanatologist's story about playing harp for a dying man nobody liked, and what it teaches about the difference between forgiveness that strengthens ordinary people and deference toward the powerful. Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Nolan Wells went to Horn Island on the Fourth of July with a group of friends. They came back. He didn't. Two days later, his body was pulled from the water by a park ranger — and the people closest to him started offering different accounts of what happened. The Wells family says his Snapchat data was wiped after his death. The FBI is running forensics on his phone. Over sixty witnesses have been interviewed. Death threats linked to the case are under separate investigation. And the friends who left Nolan behind on a federally protected island without water or transportation have given investigators stories that contradict each other.Jennifer Coffindaffer, a retired FBI Special Agent, joins Tony and Robin to examine the cracks forming between the friends' public statements and the facts investigators are piecing together. She addresses the Snapchat allegation directly — whether it constitutes evidence of a cover-up or whether there are plausible explanations — and what it means that the FBI is involved but maintains the local sheriff has jurisdiction despite Horn Island being federal land. The case is being investigated as a death — not yet classified as a crime. But the distance between what the friends are saying and what the evidence appears to show is growing. Coffindaffer walks through what that gap means from an investigative standpoint and why the next thirty days may determine whether anyone is ever held accountable for leaving an eighteen-year-old alone on an island.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Text the Show or Leave a VoicemailI want police officers to understand why chaplains exist and I want chaplains to understand how they can serve better. One of the best ways to "get it" is to listen to this conversation with a chaplain who has the right attitude and character. Our guest today is Kevin Shive. Kevin is a police chaplain from Golden, Colorado and he is also the founder and executive director of Serving the Shield, formerly Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains. Kevin is going to share some chaplain stories from the front lines but we are also going to talk about vetting and dismissing people who may not be fit to be chaplains."This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil." In this final episode of our 13-part exploration of folk music history we are concluding with Death and Afterlife Songs! We welcome our musical collaborators for the series Ben and Katie to join us for this bumper-length episode, which includes a conversation at the end in which we reflect on the journey we have been on together over the last 15 months. As for the songs, we begin with Death and the Lady, a song that feels like it ought to have Medieval roots and which seems inspired by the Black Death, yet which is only recorded for the first time in the 18th century.Next, we sing and discuss one of the finest English songs of all, The Lyke Wake Dirge, with Martin deploying his shruti box and his snare drum to get the skeleton parade marching along...Lastly, we go out on a very Ben choice with Fiddler's Green, a song which is the 40th we've recorded together. We really hope you enjoy the songs, the conversations about death, the afterlife, reincarnation, and more, and remember, every new person who listens to this episode, or who joins our Patreon, enables us to be more ambitious with our projects and push Three Ravens into new and exciting places. So, thank you very much for listening, we hope to release mastered versions of some of the songs as an album (funds and time willing) and thank you for spreading the word about what we're doing so that this can be how we make our living. We really hope you enjoy the episode, and we will speak to you again on Thursday for our final stories from the Lang Red Fairy Book, featuring The Marvellous Musician and The Story of Sigurd! The Three Ravens is a Myth and Folklore podcast hosted by award-winning writers Martin Vaux and Eleanor Conlon.Released on Mondays, each weekly episode focuses on a historic county, exploring the heritage, folklore and traditions of the area, from ghosts and mermaids to mythical monsters, half-forgotten heroes, bloody legends, and much, much more. Then, and most importantly, the pair take turns to tell a new version of an ancient story from that county - all before discussing what that tale might mean, where it might have come from, and the truths it reveals about England's hidden past...Bonus Episodes are released on Thursdays plus Local Legends episodes on Saturdays - interviews with acclaimed authors, folklorists, podcasters and historians with unique perspectives on that week's county. With a range of exclusive content on Patreon too, including audio ghost tours, the Three Ravens Newsletter, and monthly Three Ravens Film Club episodes about folk horror films from across the decades, why not join us around the campfire and listen in?REGISTER FOR THE TALES OF SOUTHERN ENGLAND TOURVisit our website Join our Patreon Social media channels and sponsors Hosted on Acast. Why Everything You Say and Speak Is Rewriting Your Future • The Todd Coconato Show Website: www.PastorTodd.org To support this ministry: www.ToddCoconato.com/give You are not just talking. You are creating. In this episode I break down the power of words from Genesis to quantum physics, and why every sentence coming out of your mouth is either building your future or destroying it. We're talking eight biblical truths about the tongue, the science that's finally catching up to what scripture said thousands of years ago, and why from this day forward you're going to speak differently over your marriage, your money, your kids, and your calling. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. It's time we start acting like it. #PowerOfWords #SpeakLife #RemnantRevival #FaithOverFear #ChristianContent
