The story of how this interview came to be has something to do with Anita's exercise regimen, Hawaii 5-0, and little bit of woo woo. Meet Scott. Scott and his wife Donna built a life in Hawaii grounded in love, music, and the spirit of aloha. When Donna was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, everything changed — but her optimism, strength, and warmth continued to guide Scott long after she was gone. Join Anita and Mel during Scott's honest account of loss, healing, and how he is moving through grief. In Donna's honor, Scott created Daisy Fest, a celebration of life, love, and local Hawaiian music that raises funds for pancreatic cancer research and supports local artists.http://www.daisyfest.org*Check our Patreon for AD FREE Episodes, or to submit tributes of your person to be read in an episode! *http://www.patreon.com/wwdnSponsored by:BetterHelp.com. What happens when life forces you to stop fighting and finally let go? For years, Isabelle Daikeler lived in pain and fear, holding tightly to identities that no longer fit. It all came to a breaking point on the floor of a bedroom in Hawaii, when surrender became her only option. What unfolded was not instant healing, but the start of a transformation that continues to this day. In this episode of The Life Shift Podcast, Isabelle shares: How years of pain, illness, and lost identity led her to a wall she could not push past The night she surrendered in prayer, her body released decades of fear and trauma Why befriending the unknown has allowed her to step into deeper authenticity and self-worth This is a story of patience, surrender, and learning that strength often shows up in ways we don’t expect.

Cc Madhya 18.128-229 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/18/advanced-view/ ------------------------------------------------------------ I was once on an airplane ride from San Francisco to Hawaii, en route to India — it was a stopover along the way. And they had a talent show on the plane. They asked if anybody had a talent — if so, they could come up and, you know, do their thing. A few people volunteered and went up there. There was a comedian, then a breakdancer, and someone did a magic trick. I was a brahmacārī. I got up and chanted the Brahma-saṁhitā on the plane — and I won. They gave me two tickets to the Botanical Gardens in Hawaii. So yes... it always pays to learn verses. "Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should."Episode SummaryIn this episode of The Gun Experiment, we're chopping it up in Studio with our good friend and firearms instructor, Sean Martin, aka Pink Shirt Tactical. Big Keith and I dive into gun news, hot takes, and personal stories about hunting, fitness, current political drama, and of course, plenty of Second Amendment talk. We touch on recent matches like the Hero Down Shootout, discuss firearm law updates (like Hawaii's Vampire Rule and the P320 issue in Chicago), and share some hilarious community stories—from kid obsessions with town councilmen to belt buckles for F-150 key fobs. We debate open carry “auditors,” government accountability, and even take a swipe at media soundbites. The U.S. Supreme Court just agreed to hear the Wolford v. Hawaii case — and at the center of it is San Diego attorney Alan Beck. This pivotal lawsuit challenges Hawaii's so-called “Vampire Rule,” a law requiring businesses to post “guns allowed” signs before concealed carriers can enter — effectively banning carry in nearly all private establishments. The government has announced an independent inquiry into repeated failings in maternity services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Earlier this year, a BBC investigation revealed that the deaths of at least 56 babies and two mothers over the past five years at the Trust could perhaps have been avoided. BBC correspondent Divya Talwar joins Nuala McGovern, alongside Lauren Caulfield and Amarjit Kaur Matharoo, who both tragically lost their babies while receiving care at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. This month, the Ironman World Championships were held in Kona, Hawaii, where Britain's Kat Matthews won silver. The men's and women's championships, previously held simultaneously, were split into separate events in 2023. However, they are set to reunite next year. Questions have been raised about the impact this change may have on female competitors. To discuss the championships and celebrate Kat's achievement, Nuala is joined by Kat Matthews and Jordan Blanco, a contributor to Triathlete magazine who attended the event. A new report reveals that progress towards gender equity in the architecture profession still remains too slow. Inequalities remain deeply rooted — with pay disparities, toxic and exclusionary workplace cultures, and half of female respondents surveyed said they had been bullied, and a third had experienced sexual harassment at work. Nuala hears from Valerie Vaughan-Dick, Chief Executive of Royal Institute of British Architects, and Helen Lee who was the project architect on a social housing development in London for the elderly which has just won this year's Stirling Prize for Architecture. The Essex witch trials represent one of the darkest chapters in British history. A new Sky History series, Witches of Essex, revisits the real lives of women accused of witchcraft in the 16th and 17th centuries, drawing on newly examined court records and the latest historical research. Historian Dr Eleanor Janega joins Nuala to discuss.Presenter: Nuala McGovern Producer: Dianne McGregor

He was invited to join the world-famous Doo-Wop Group “The Love Notes” by Papa Mars and son, Little Bruno (now known as Pop Star Bruno Mars.)While Bobby was emerging as an entertainer, he came across many opportunities to recreate the persona of Jackie Wilson because of his uncanny resemblance, voice, and moves that were almost identical to Jackie's. During this time, he learned that he was actually Jackie Wilson's biological son!Since that time, Bobby has emerged into a Global Entertainer with his own shows including: “Jackie Wilson, The Legacy Continues,” “Bobby Brooks Wilson, The Motown Years,” and his latest show, “Bobby Brooks Wilson's Red Tie Tour.”Bobby has opened for his friend Bruno Mars, and now stars in Clubs, Theaters, Casinos, and Cruise Ships around the world. Many watch with anticipation as Bobby Brooks Wilson's success continues to soar through the “Grace of God”, he says as the singer, the entertainer and the artist!© 2025 All Rights Reserved© 2025 BuildingAbundantSuccess!!Join Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

The Pod is back for Fall of '25 and we kick things off with a recap and preview of things going on around the program with Head Coach Andrew Checketts. UCSB finished the 2025 Season 36-18 (16-14) in 5th place in the BigWest after getting eliminated in the play-in game by Hawaii in the Conference Tournament. Today we sit down and catch up on pro Gauchos, the latest news and a run down of the new roster. Then we're joined by former Gaucho Jason Willow (50:15) as he reacts to the Blue Jays playoff run and Shane Bieber's start in game 3 of the ALCS v Seattle.
Like a thunderbolt from another dimension, a dimension where $90 million-dollar comedies with top-tier talent and a first-class, Oscar-winning cinematographer combine with an expensive location shoot in Hawaii (standing in for Viet Nam) to gross $200 million dollars and spawn at least two Pantheon-level comedy characters in Tom Cruise's Les Grossman and Robert Downey, Jr's Kirk Lazarus-as-Staff-Sergeant-Lincoln-Osiris. I woefully failed to mention in the episode that Downey's transformation into Lazarus-as-Osiris was done by none other than the legend Rick Baker. To say they don't make 'em like this anymore is a sad truth. We have truly lost as a film-going society when big time stars gather to be in a movie this funny and big-screen watchable. I suppose the big screen's loss is HBO's gain, however. And soda: Ben Stiller has a new line of sodas and they're very good. You should try one!
Today we're talking about housing. The ROAD to Housing Act passed the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee 24-0 in late July. Last week — despite the shutdown — it cleared the Senate. It's a package of 27 pieces of legislation to boost housing supply, improve affordability, reduce regulatory roadblocks, and reduce homelessness. When you zoom out a bit, what's happened here is pretty surprising. The chair of the committee, Republican Tim Scott, and the Ranking Member, Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat, co-sponsored the bill. The bill is the committee's first bipartisan housing markup in over a decade. Passing through committee unanimously doesn't happen often for serious bills of this sort. I wanted to understand how this bill happened, and came to have a serious shot at passing. And I also wanted to get a better sense of what's actually in the bill, and why it matters for housing. If you're like me, most of the debates you hear about housing policy focus on zoning, which is a local issue — very little federal say. So what are all these pieces of legislation? Do they matter?Joining me is an unorthodox trio:* Will Poff-Webster was legislative counsel for Senator Brian Schatz, a Democrat from Hawaii. He's our inside guy today: he worked on the bill within the Senate. And today, he covers housing policy here at IFP.* Alex Armlovich is Senior Housing Policy Analyst at the Niskanen Center. He has been working on housing issues for a long time, and his fingerprints are on parts of this bill package. He's my advocate from the outside.* Brian Potter is Senior Infrastructure Fellow at IFP and author of Construction Physics, which I very much enjoy editing. If I can make one newsletter recommendation to you besides Statecraft, it's Construction Physics. He has a background in private-sector home building. And has written about several of the proposals in this package.Table of contents:* What's the federal role in housing policy?* What's in the bill?* Regulatory reform* Technical assistance plus incentives* Funding and financing reform* A brief sidebar on manufactured home chassis* Will the bill matter?* How did the bill happen, politically speaking?* The policy wonk success storyThank you to Harry Fletcher-Wood and Katerina Barton for their judicious transcript and audio edits. For the full transcript of this conversation, go to www.statecraft.pub. The AvBrief editor-in-chief describes how the new aviation news service relies on humans to research and write aviation news. Also, the impact of the federal government shutdown on air traffic controllers and how they may influence a resolution of the shutdown, modernization of the 109th Airlift Wing ski squadron, and an idea to allocate some Essential Air Service (EAS) subsidies to rural bus services. Guest Russ Niles is Editor-in-Chief of AVBrief, a new website and newsletter that offers aviation news written and researched by humans involved in aviation. Russ has been a pilot for 35 years and owns a 1946 Cessna 140. He has been an aviation journalist since 2003 and was editor-in-chief at AvWeb until July 31, 2025, when he and several others in senior positions were unexpectedly let go. Russ wasn't done being an aviation journalist, and he, along with some fellow journalists, launched AvBrief on August 3, 2025. Russ strongly believes that AI-based journalism cannot effectively create good aviation news content. Rather, it must come from human journalists, and this is a hallmark of AvBrief. The free AvBrief newsletter is currently published three times a week, but Russ sees that growing to a daily email. You can sign up for that at AvBrief.com. In addition to the news stories on the website, you'll also find The Smart Aviator with new products, flight reviews, and best practices for maintenance and airmanship. Russ hopes this will grow into its own online publication. Aviation News As more air traffic controllers miss work, Transportation secretary threatens to fire ‘problem children' controllers The CNN article describes how the ongoing government shutdown is causing widespread staffing shortages among U.S. air traffic controllers, leading to significant delays and disruptions at major airports. At least 11 FAA locations are affected, including key hubs like Chicago O'Hare, Newark, Orlando, Denver, and regional facilities, where control towers are operating with fewer controllers, resulting in delays of up to 90 minutes. In Duffy Threatens Dismissal for Controllers Who Falsely Call in Sick, AvBrief reports that in an interview on Fox Business, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said, “If we have a continual small subset of controllers that don't show up to work, and they're the problem children … if we have some on our staff that aren't dedicated like we need, we're going to let them go. I can't have people not showing up for work.” TSA agents helped end a government shutdown before. Could they do it again? Staffing shortages among TSA agents and air traffic controllers are causing airport delays during the ongoing government shutdown. Could their actions exert pressure an to end the shutdown? The National Air Traffic Controllers Association is urging all controllers to keep coming to work, but recognizes that some may choose not to attend due to the financial strain. Ultimately, only Congress can end a shutdown, but the impact of worker shortages—travel delays and safety concerns—has historically played a part in resolving previous government shutdowns. Vital Ski Squadron Modernization Getting Budget Attention Strategic concerns over increased military activity by China and Russia in the Arctic have prompted U.S. lawmakers and the Pentagon to accelerate modernization of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing, which operates unique ski-equipped C-130s supporting polar operations. Recently, $29 million was reallocated to fast-track the development of a new ski-equipped C-130J model to replace the aging LC-130H “Ski Bird” fleet that has become increasingly unreliable and difficult to maintain due to its age—some aircraft are between 30 and 50 years old. As Congress weighs rural air subsidies ... what about rural bus service? Essential Air Service (EAS) provides federal subsidies (about $550 million annually in the lower 48 and Hawaii) to ensure small,

For decades, Regulus had astronomers fooled. The star is bright, hot, and blue – an indication that it was quite young. Most estimates put its age at no more than a hundred million years – about two percent the age of the Sun. Instead, it’s at least a billion years old. But like a vampire, it’s been rejuvenated by taking the life’s blood of a companion, making it look much younger. The star we see as Regulus is about four times the size and mass of the Sun, and more than 300 times brighter. A few decades ago, astronomers discovered its companion – a “dead” star known as a white dwarf. The two stars are so close together that the corpse was hidden in the glare of the bright star. The presence of the companion means the system has to be at least a billion years old – old enough for the companion to evolve to its present state. As it evolved, it puffed up. Gas flowed from its surface over to the other star. That made the star we see today much bigger and heavier. It also made the star hotter, which made it bluer. Hot blue stars usually are quite young. So astronomers were fooled into thinking that bright Regulus was still a youngster – not an older star that’s been rejuvenated. Look for Regulus close to the Moon at dawn tomorrow. The distance between them will narrow as you move westward. They’ll be especially close as seen from Alaska or Hawaii. Script by Damond Benningfield

What if the shaking in your life isn't turbulence, but a transfer? In this episode, Pastor Mike Kai challenges leaders to see disruption as God's strategy for refinement and preparation. From ancient biblical wisdom to modern-day business lessons, he reminds us that we were born for such a time as this. In this powerful episode of Pound for Pound Leadership, Pastor Mike Kai unpacks why Inspire Church carries its name and vision for the future (00:16). He shares how God uses shaking, whether in economies, politics, or even personal challenges, to position us for growth and greater purpose (02:32, 04:21). Drawing from the story of Joseph (08:33) and the biblical wisdom of the men of Issachar (07:36), Pastor Mike highlights the importance of discerning the times and stewarding influence well (16:04). Listeners will also hear practical lessons from business and culture, including the faith-driven foundations of companies like Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out (17:14), and even the “Mamba Mentality” of Kobe Bryant as an example of pushing through pain with purpose (24:52). Through personal stories of setbacks, denials, and God's redirection (27:10, 30:36), Pastor Mike reminds us that every leader was built to multiply, advance, and steward for the Kingdom (31:44). This is a message of faith, resilience, and vision that will inspire you to see beyond the shaking and step fully into your Kingdom assignment. __________________ 00:16 Pastor Mike thanks everyone for coming to the lunch in and shares the story of how and why they changed the name of the church to Inspire Church when it was once called Hope. 00:26 Its about going home and being inspired and living an inspired life that God has for us. Example during 2020 when covid took place the church shook your business 03:33 the book of Haggai chapter 2”6-9 is referenced 04:21 This is not turbulence its a transfer economically worldwide. Is there something that you need to let go of? 05:06 Pastor Mike references his space shuttle example. Two solid fuel rocket boosters to catapult that space shuttle into its own orbit but it would release the rocket boosters. If you dont let it go its not going to take you where you need to go 05:47 what is in your life right now that you need to cutt off? 06/13 Pastor Mike shares he recently was in WA DC whiule the president was making alot of moves in the middle east. And how alot of CEO's were flow out to the middle east. Something is going to happen and we need to be ready for it 06:56 Pastor mike talks about the price of xrp ripple skyrocketing, and bitcoind and gold. 07:36 men of Isaka in the bible referenced. 12 tribes in Israel Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and his 12 sons. 07:58 we must understand the signs of the times. 08:33 it is going to take the anointing and the favor of one of my favorite people. Joseph in the old testament one of jacobs sons was sold into slavery by his brothers beacuaes they were jeolous of him. The book of genesis is devoted to his story. 09:13 Pharoah had a dream and none of his people could interpret his dream but someone remembered Joseph who was in prison that could interpret dreams. And because he was able to tell him what his dream meant he was elevated and no longer in prison but they used him for his prophetic skills 10:36 Do you know what things are going to look like for you paST 2026? Even in pain im still in purpose. Sometimes pain is proof that youre still in teh game. 27:10 The call he got 10 years ago from the bank telling him he did not get approved for the 10 acres and how upset he was. He wanted to blame everybody. But God blessed them with another church to buy and a developer that is now opening their Kapolei location. 30:36 Sometimes a denial is actually a delay whether in your business or personal. Pastor mike encourages you to put Jesus first. Churches 10% is for God. 31:44 you were born for such a time as this. Multiply advance and stewart. You were built for this.
