Meet Tom Dexter. We go back 35-years ago to my freshman year in college. We played college football together, we were both captains, we are both from NJ, and in some ways have had similar paths with children and family. Tom spent the first 30-years of his illustrious financial-services career as a wealth-advisor with some of the biggest firms and most prominent  families.   Now, in addition to his successful financial advisory career, he has blossomed into a full-blown COACH on many levels as well. As a former linebacker at William & Mary, he now coaches his son's HS football team (Wilton, CT), is the program's strength & conditioning coordinator, is a newly graduated TD IMPACT Life-Coach, and he's the newly appointed leader of Cohort #2 of the Todd Durkin IMPACT-X Coaching Program for high-performers seeking more success & significance in all aspects of life and business.  You're in for a real treat today as you listen to a man who knows me about as well as anyone in the universe, as you will be able to tell from the banter in today's episode.    Here is some of what Tom Dexter and I discuss on today's IMPACT SHOW: Tom & Todd's background, including life at William & Mary and some of the shenanigans they used to get into.  What “Dex” learned from his top coaches, including his father, Coach Laycock, and Coach Semenza.  Tom's top lessons from a 30-year career in finance and how that prepares him now to coach business leaders, doctors, lawyers, and other executives, and leaders. Tom's ethos in life and how it transcends to all aspects of life. Tom's “Top 7 Mantras” he lives by and how discipline, consistency, preparation, attitude, mindset and sacrifice are some of the same characteristics he shares with his clients, as well as those he coaches. What were some of the top things he has received from being part of my IMPACT-X Coaching Program (Cohort #1) and how has his family, relationships, business, and life changed since joining the program one-year ago? What is Tom most excited for about Cohort #2 of the IMPACT-X Coaching Program and why he is particularly excited to now coach in the program as well? How does he definite “IMPACT” and what his legacy will be all about… What is the #1 thing I will always remember about Tom Dexter!!   Tom Dexter has always been a “hidden-secret” to me as he's been one of my top advisors and best-friends in my life for a long time. Now you have access to him as well. I am particularly proud and excited for our IMPACT Coaching program and we are fortunate to have Tom on board as an IMPACT Coach and the new Director of our IMPACT-X Coaching Program.    Listen in now and you will see and hear the wisdom, intellect, and emotional intelligence of Tom and why I'm pumped to have him part of our program. Do you ever feel invisible? Perhaps you struggle to get your voice heard. If so, you're not alone, because this is something that most women have experienced at some point, especially as we move into midlife and menopause. But it's not something we should put up with, because it's not right and because, let's face it, middle aged men don't experience the same problem, do they? I've invited Dr Vanessa Collingridge to join me for this episode. I first met her at the Menopause Festival in Edinburgh, where were both speaking and I was intrigued by the title of her workshop  - The Revenge of the Invisible Woman. She struck me as just the woman we need to help us deal with this eternal problem!Vanessa is a woman with a fascinating history and I really needed a lot longer to talk to her! She's a broadcaster, author and impact coach, who has researched and presented award-winning history documentaries; is the author of several books and she's a communications expert too. As an impact coach, she has a passion for developing female talent and helping women find their voice and shares loads of practical advice. We discuss the reasons why women feel invisible and why it can be so hard to get your voice heard at any age, but especially during midlife and menopause. Vanessa is full of practical advice about how to get yourself noticed and make your mark in work or social situations, and how to help your loved ones remember that you're there, so that you're not taken for granted. This episode is a mini masterclass in how to regain your confidence and get the recognition and appreciation you deserve! If you've enjoyed the podcast, don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss the next episode and please give it 5 star rating and a short review on Apple podcasts, or whichever platform you listen on, I'd be so grateful. And do tell your friends and family about it too. It really does make a huge difference to the visibility of the podcast, so that more women can find the show. After all, every woman deserves to have a happy menopause. Thanks so much for listening. On this week's Unveil Podcast, Victoria Fenton chats to Rob DuBois. Rob DuBois is a multilingual retired U.S. Navy SEAL, intelligence professional, and career Red Team security leader. He has worked in more than 30 countries over more than 30 years. From 1996 to 2006, Rob served as a special reconnaissance SEAL at SDV Team ONE and as a Red Team operator based in Washington, DC. He has trained foreign forces in a dozen nations and has planned mock terrorist attacks against American interests worldwide. On 9/11 Rob was teaching Arab commandos at a remote Persian Gulf base. American and Arab SEALs together watched the Towers collapse, and both nations went to war against al Qaeda. Such complex experiences led to his book on cross-cultural conflict, “Powerful Peace: A Navy SEAL's Lessons on Peace from a Lifetime at War.” World-renowned peak performance expert Tony Robbins called Powerful Peace "A must-read for those who wish to influence others." Rob has spoken extensively on radio, on television, and in talks across the United States on “unchaining” human potential and leading diverse teams. He is the founder and lead "Impact Coach" of the whole-person development firm, Impact Actual. During this conversation, Rob and Victoria discuss: What led him to becoming a Navy SEAL, and what drove that passion even with a successful career in the NSA having been established SEAL training, BUDS, Hell Week - and dispelling the myths of the ‘brutality' and ‘inhumanity' around this notorious training regimen The psychological warfare of training to be a SEAL, including the enormous sacrifice made on behalf of those who are trained to “Red Team” - and what Red Teaming is Rob's personal journey of evolving from a childhood of trauma, into a career of hypervigilance, and now into a life where he channels appropriate vigilance into his security consulting work (as a Red Team professional himself), whilst also being in the continued work of modifying that vigilance to adapt back to civilian life The losses and tragedies faced by Rob's friends and brothers in the SEAL teams - and the weight of the reality of survivor's remorse and hindsight about decision making The training of decision making in the military, and the necessity of the methods utilized at BUDS This is a powerful, moving, deeply impactful conversation - as you would expect from someone who spearheads a Total Human Mastery approach at his company, Impact Actual. Ep 027: A Coach's Journey, with Kristy Klein

Beyond Your Limits

Kristy Klein has been a part of Impact Actual since the very beginning. She was a client of Rob's many years back, and their conversations planted the seed that led to the concept of the first "Impact Coach" certification. Her full time career is as scientist and program manager as a Government Civilian. The leadership skills she has honed and grown over the 10+ years in her career translate well in to her coaching. Kristy also has a long history as a triathlete and endurance athlete over almost 20 years, in addition to coaching. This experience in racing and training for grueling events has allowed her to hone skills in mental resilience and endurance, along with the physical aspect. These skills have helped her rebound and rebuild after some major health issues reared their ugly heads and brought her personal athletic career as she knew it to a grinding halt. Being a coach and helping others become more well rounded in life and in sports is now her passion. 2:51 Because again, as I as I scanned over there, all of this came from accidents, good fortune intersections, and quick relationships and things leading to things. So let's go back though to talk about you personally, you, you are a scientist, I like to just use that simple term because I don't understand what it is. 4:39 you mentioned doing it like methodically, you said that you liked the way it was done structurally. That actually kind of segues right back to being scientific in the method and so forth following step by step that makes sense that will be appealing to somebody as compared to loosey goosey intuition based only like hey, how you feeling today, let's talk about your feelings. It's saying you You know, we're going to hold accountability, what do you what's next, never stay in the comfort zone too long, basically right step to the next thing, move on to the next thing. And that is a really big part of your story. 8:55 It only happened a couple of years ago, and I've had some peaks and valleys with my conditions ever since it's not like I got diagnosed and got on medication and life was back to hunky dory. You know, there's been little sub peaks and valleys coming through that in the last four years or so since I got diagnosed. So, you know, it's still a work in progress. You know, this is, is a lifetime process. It's not like, you know, when you go through these programs, when I do all this stuff, it's not like I do it, close the book and, and move on. 14:57 I never realized how small my goals were Until I realized how big I am. 20:59 right, I'm not going to tell you life's gonna be rosy and you go through this and you're never going to have a problem again in your life. Now that's not that's life happens and life is full of problems. It's just gives you better skills and coping mechanisms to maybe later on, get through that a lot quicker, a lot easier to get through your problems easier, or, you know, faster or whatever, it gives you better coping skills. 33:55 But until you get it off your chest, you can't move past it. And that's the thing. I mean, like I keep talking about glossy trifold we're not we're not two dimensional images of ourselves in the impact world. We're about being 100% real 360 whole person and saying you can't shock me bring it to me.

Holli and Jeanna canNOT wait for you to listen to T H I S episode!  What a magnificent conversation with an incredibly creative and talented (like VIP main stage talent!), compassionate, warm, and wickedly gifted personal impact coach Gido Schimanski!  He leveraged his personal story of evolution, mastery, and commitment to continual development (spoiler alert: Gido reminds us all that personal development is not about fixing who we are but rather identifying where we might want to improve.) into a thriving consulting and coaching business.  More about Gido: Gido Schimanski is an international teacher and coach best known for his transformational programs with clients who are often in the public eye. He helps them under all that pressure to become the best at their game, stay the best and above all ENJOY what they have achieved, so that they don't sabotage themselves in their most defining moments, but can draw on 100% of their potential.  From limiting beliefs to forgiveness, Gido spills all the magic beans! Following a fortunate career on stage and screen Gido now works with senior executives, professional footballers, musical theatre stars and the occasional pop-star.  He is the creator of the Successful Auditions Programme for Creative High Achievers, the CD Angels of Forgiveness - The Little Journey of Letting Go and most recently launched his new online program called 6 WEEK MASTERS - Your blockbuster in 6 parts. Gido has worked closely with The Royal Academy of Music in London, The Voice College, as well as Fusion5 Performance in Germany. He was co-founder of The Network for Transformational Leaders and a founding member of The Change Makers. He has specialized in the high-achieving mindset and the techniques at the core of his work very often leave his clients with instant shifts in their reality. And, as you listen to this episode, you will also hear that Gido has a new fan/stalker in Holli AND Jeanna.  (But, not to worry, Jeanna is committed to supporting the paperwork for Gido!)  We hope this episode inspires you all to embrace the new levels, same devils (you gotta listen to the episode!) and don't change who you are but consider taking away what was never yours. Meet Lis:Lis Best is an executive coach for women in the impact space, founder of the Girls Club mastermind, and host of the Women Changing the World podcast. In my 10+ years in the corporate sustainability world, I watched two things happen: one, I saw amazing woman after amazing woman land her dream job and completely burn herself out (spoiler alert: this happened to me, too). And two, I saw time and time again that the impact that companies were having on the world wasn't dictated by what they "should" be doing - it was dictated by how effective a change agent the person leading their program was.In early 2020 (right before the pandemic), I took the leap and started my own coaching and consulting business to help other women make their sustainability careers more personally sustainable by leading with mindfulness and moxie. I have helped hundreds of women launch impact-focused businesses, land and excel in their dream jobs, and polish their personal brands until they sparkle.Website: https://www.elisabethbest.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lis.best/---About Us - Women Who Brunch:Women Who Brunch is a community for  women who love connecting, networking, and learning from each other over the most important meal of the week...BRUNCH!Check out our website for updates on events, recipes, brunch spots, product reviews and more or say hi on Instagram!WWB Website: https://womenwhobrunch.comWWB Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenwhobrunch

Wouldn't it be great to have a steady stream of donors? According to The State of Modern Philanthropy, recurring donors are over five times more valuable to your nonprofit than one-time donors. Monthly giving creates reliable income from your most committed donors. So how do you start a monthly gift program or increase the monthly donors you have? Are there pitfalls to watch out for? Building Your Community: A Conversation with Justin Minott

On today's episode, Brooke talks with Justin Minott. Justin is an entrepreneur who got his start creating a non-profit that allowed him to accomplish his goal of traveling the world. During a trip to Africa, the idea to source coffee was born and he took that idea back to Canada and started a coffee shop there. He then moved to North Carolina and expanded his idea of a coffee shop to fulfill the local need of opening one that is family friendly. Justin talks about his biggest challenges: sustainability and scalability of your venture. When impact is at the center, it makes you approach your business differently. His coffee shop in Canada used this idea as they used 25% of profits to reinvest in communities in Africa. It also increased the quality of the coffee because helping the community clean their water was also cleaning the coffee which improved the quality of the coffee. They would reverse engineer their business plan based on the impact, not the other way around. Getting and running as an efficient business so you can scale while having the impact that you want is challenging. That is why he is an impact business coach now. As an impact business coach, Justin gets a great amount of joy by seeing people win. The driver for him was thinking often about his legacy and how it aligns with how he wants to be remembered. When he reflects on running businesses, the impact there was the community he could create, but when he got a glimpse of investing in the lives of other impact entrepreneurs, the impact was exponential by his sharing what he has learned with others. A good business coach isn't a cheerleader, but someone who collapses the timeline and gives the entrepreneur the straightest path to where they want to go. The customer/client has to be the hero of the story and he helps entrepreneurs achieve that. Justin is also really good at building community. His best advice for fostering community is bringing people together towards a larger vision that isn't  just hanging out, but adding value to people's lives. It is having a compelling and clear vision for what you want to accomplish and building that community. It's important to figure out why that matters to you. As entrepreneurs come together, what can we share so we can navigate this landscape in the best way possible? This journey is collaborative and that is the power of community. Justin says barriers to community is the facade of having it all together and that you have to present in a certain way and can't look like you don't know something. The lack of vulnerability and transparency in the entrepreneurial space is one of the biggest barriers to a connected community. Vulnerability and authenticity is power. Inauthenticity is exhausting and you can fit in but you will never belong. When you are you, you'll find your people. Justin plans on creating momentum throughout the rest of the year with consistency and focus. He is going super practical this year, one foot in front of the other. Perfect practice makes perfect. He enjoys going fast but to go fast is to go slow. If you want to get to fast, you've got to go slow. The second piece of advice is figuring out how to get more of who he is accessible to a community. His focus has been digitally since he takes on a few clients at a time but it still allows for scaling as people have more access to him at a lower cost. The key is to build that community without the expectation that they will give you something back. Celebrate with them their successes instead of expecting something in return. You can find more about Justin or follow him at @justinminott or visit https://www.justinminott.com/

I am a coach for those that are wanting to make an impact on the generations that follow them, for those that are thinking that life could be so much better than right now.
