The United States government spends more than $600 billion on goods and services sourced from third-party suppliers. As the largest consumer in the world, the U.S government issues thousands of contracts to companies. With that opportunity comes the responsibility to distribute contract dollars equitably, across a wide range of business classifications and avoid providing an advantage to one type of business. Supplier diversity involves the policies, procedures, and programs that support equitable inclusion of small and/or diverse organizations in access and receipt of vendor contracts. In this episode, the host of the Four Degrees to the Streets Podcast sit down with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategist Jaime Coleman to advise small business on how to bid for a government contract and to examine how governments are performing on their equity in procurement/supplier diversity goals. Jaime Coleman most recently served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategist for a midsize city in North Carolina. As a one-person department, Jaime ideated and led all internal DEI learning & development and its corresponding compliance, reviewed and revised policies, engaged with stakeholders to establish trust with the municipality, represented the organization at various community and cultural events, and facilitated relationships between internal departments and historically underutilized businesses (HUB).Jaime's career started in Higher Education. Priding herself on being well-read and well-researched, Jaime believes that knowledge, open-mindedness, and understanding are essential tools to address many social ills. With years of experience as an Adjunct, she uses her facilitation skills to deliver interactive workshops that create openness, and equip and inspire the audience to take meaningful action. Jaime is a passionate advocate for people. She understands the importance of internal culture and its impact on external constituents.Personally, Jaime cherishes time with her husband and children. Jaime is an avid reader, a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor, and a seasoned traveler. Jaime earned her MBA from Georgetown University, holds a Master's from NYU, and her Bachelor's is from Rutgers University. Jaime appreciates invitations to contribute and promises to deliver.Share these insights from this episode: The United States federal government has procurement targets for each business classification for every department. Riko had planted a listening device in the offices of The Hapten-Shufti Standard. However, this was not sufficient to record the conversation which occurred between Detective Rake and Amanda. The conversation had occurred in the reception area. It did detect a phone call between Amanda and Horace. This conversation was cryptic and not very helpful to Mistress Vania as she listened to it on her smartphone. What could leave them in no doubt was the article that was to follow a few hours later. Priding herself on getting to press quickly Amanda had her story written and sent to Horace with the greatest of efficiency and speed. As was expected Horace was overjoyed at the sensational nature of the story and the Nick Dunn tie-in. He matched it with a screaming headline: Kidney Kidnapping Crime Gang in Nick Dunn Frame Up. Mistress Vania read the story with a look of real concern. “This is not good at all,” she said, handing Riko the computer tablet. “They have quite good descriptions for each of us. And the description of the Lexus is so accurate there is no choice in the matter. It will have to go. We cannot even risk driving it out of Hapten-Shufti.” “We must do something quickly,” said Riko. “The people in this town are relentlessly stupid and curious. It is a bad combination.” “I know some Albanians,” said Mistress Vania. “They are friends of a friend. I can make a call. If we leave the keys in the ignition it will be gone in a matter of hours. We can report it stolen later and claim on the insurance.” Paperback and Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/Mistress-Vania-Changes-Scott-Baxter-ebook/dp/B00LPLIC6C Apple iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/wet-by-rain/id1517187872 Twitter: https://twitter.com/WetByRain1 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5FUG4EErDp4pUInZ1ANYsp?si=N4OvPMSkSoOGXmX7IHcIuw YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeqTJqdJ-ObgzeGQl-Ehb0A Those wanting to support the podcast: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=36140272 Music by Kevin MacLeod, Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/music.html

Pancakes are part of the fabric of American breakfasts, yet so many ready-to-make mixes and syrups are packed with additives, preservatives and artificial sweeteners. Blanket Pancakes & Syrup, the dream child of the pancake-loving Carter family, are here to weave a new narrative of what pancake mixes should be. Meet the rising star of the breakfast aisle: a line of irresistibly flavored pancake mixes and syrups that are made from simple ingredients families can trust. “We love pancakes, but between busy family life and health complications that arose after I gave birth, finding a product that combined both efficiency with health-conscious ingredients wasn't easy at all. So, with some determination, a big appetite and a willingness to get my hands dirty in the kitchen, I perfected the right recipe. From there, “Blanket was born” said Marquita Carter, creator, and founder of Blanket Pancakes & Syrup. From a humble passion project to a startup success story, Blanket has already transformed the breakfast landscape with its all-natural, irresistibly flavored pancake mixes and syrups. In the last year, it hit shelves at grocers across the nation, including Walmart, Costco, Food Lion, Giant Foods and Hannaford. The reasons so many people are catching on to what makes Blanket such a standout breakfast product include: Delicious mixes: The pancake mixes come in buttermilk, honey butter, sweet potato, chocolate chip, vegan and an upcoming gluten-free buttermilk. Mouthwatering syrups: Available in original, vanilla and cinnamon, these syrups take an already outstanding batch of pancakes to the next level. Recognizable, wholesome ingredients: All of Blanket's products are made from natural ingredients customers (and their bodies) can recognize. Each batch is free from bleached flour, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, GMOs and eggs. Ready in minutes: The Carters know great pancakes take time and patience, but with Blanket, the “just add water” mixes make it simple to get pure, fluffy pancakes on the griddle in minutes. Blanket Pancakes & Syrup is committed to providing top-notch all natural products that make breakfast time the best meal of the day, at any time of the day. Blanket is available online at Amazon and grocery stores nationwide, including Walmart, Costco, Food Lion, Giant Foods and Hannaford. Web: https://blanketps.com About: Blanket Pancakes & Syrup is committed to providing top-notch all natural products that make breakfast time the best meal of the day, at any time of the day. The purest ingredients for the best-tasting, easiest pancakes and syrup is what Blanket's all about. The rest as they say... is history. Now, over 30 years later Meredith Dairy is a vertically integrated organisation with both sheep and goats contributing to their success. Their story however now expands worldwide and has seen them win and collect many accolades along their journey - and not just for the product they are creating - but also for the way they are going about producing with a focus on sustainability, animal welfare and land stewardship.  Priding herself on responsible farming, in this podcast we chat a little about cheese but more about how the cheese itself is a vessel to ensure the farm and land that Julie is looking after is passed on to the next generation as an economically viable and environmentally sustainable business. EMEA Recruitment Podcast

To celebrate World Menopause Day, we were honoured to welcome back Sally Higham, Director – Head of Talent Attraction at Lonza and Executive Menopause Coach, to the EMEA Recruitment podcast.  “I want to be able to shake the shame and start a conversation.” In this episode, Paul Toms and Sally discuss menopause: the symptoms, the challenges, and advice for those it affects directly and indirectly. To start the episode, we learn about Sally's experience with menopause and entering this new stage of life. Many people assume menopause happens to people who are “old” and greying. For Sally, her symptoms began at the age of 46. The average age at which menopause arises is commonly between the ages 45 and 55 for women worldwide, according to the World Health Organisation, 2022.  While living in Singapore, Sally went for an annual medical exam and was offered a bone density scan. Her results showed that she had osteopenia – a diagnosis that suggests a loss of bone mineral density, resulting in weaker bones. When someone goes through menopause, their levels of oestrogen and other hormones drop sharply, leading to the loss of bone density over time. Nevertheless, Sally's doctor did not mention the menopause at this time. Some of the other symptoms that Sally had - and is still experiencing to some extent - are mood swings, fatigue, and achiness of the body. Some doctors unfortunately misdiagnose patients and prescribe the wrong medication to combat symptoms, she explains.  Now living in Basel, Switzerland, Sally changed her medical support. The gynaecologists in Basel generally prescribe non-medical treatment to start with to see how the body reacts. Sally also had a conversation with her mother to hear about her experience with menopause and non-medical treatments; Sally tried evening primrose oil and black cohosh to help with her mood swings, which had a positive effect for a while.  Sally is now taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which has been its own journey. HRT doesn't eliminate all of Sally's symptoms, but certainly helps. She doesn't suffer from the night sweats or hot flushes that are typically associated with the menopause. Like a lot of females, Sally has had to piece her treatment together herself.  The spark that encouraged Sally to talk openly about her experience was trying to understand what was happening to her and be able to provide advice to others, including those in the workplace. Bringing the subject up with managers can be tough. However, in Sally's case, she has been lucky to have managers who listened – both of whom were male and younger than herself.  It is important to reiterate that menopause is not an illness; it is a natural life event. Talking about it is the first step to breaking the taboo and changing the narrative in the workplace. It is a sensitive topic, and there can be a cultural layer to it, as well.   Sally's advice to others is not to be embarrassed by it and to talk about it - by doing so, you will inspire others to do the same.  Sally discusses the fact that we are living in an ageing population. In the Victorian era, for example, the average woman died at the age of 59. Now, in the UK, one in four females will live to 100 years old – meaning that they will be hormone deficient for half of their lifetime, as the average age for menopause is currently 51.  By 2030, it is estimated that over one billion people will be menopausal or post-menopausal (National Library of Medicine, 2019) across the globe. It is clear that workplaces will need to offer support for this.  Sally was open and honest about how she was feeling and shared her story during a leadership call. For other females, they do not recognise that menopause is happening to them. Workplaces, organisations, and employers can support managers and employees in a range of different ways. As a suggestion, lunch and learns could be implemented, which can often lead to lightbulb moments for attending individuals.  As an Executive Menopause Coach, Sally obtained her qualification from the Kathryn Colas Academy. The organisation uses a menopause traffic light system to provide structure on how businesses can approach the subject and work with communications/wellbeing teams to put a communications plan in place.  The key for any organisation is to first share awareness, so that people can identify their symptoms and seek medical advice if they wish to. The best thing managers or employers can do is create awareness, acknowledge the knowledge gap, and create a psychological and safe environment to talk about it, Sally believes.  Next, talk to leaders at varying levels, educate, and identify the workplace adjustments and policies that can be brought into the workplace.  However, be aware that managers will not have all the answers for those affected; even as an Executive Menopause Coach, Sally is open about not knowing all the answers.   Paul then shares his personal story regarding his wife, Kelly. He mentions reading Menopausing by Davina McCall, which helped expand his knowledge on the subject and gave him a lot of respect for his wife. Try your best not to judge situations and things that are said and done when people are experiencing menopause, he says.  The menopause can have an impact on people's careers. The perimenopause is the phase before menopause that can take place four to 12 years earlier, combining into a lengthy period that can impact both work and home life. She explains that this usually collides with females reaching a certain point in their careers, with ageing parents, and teenagers at home. Sometimes, women question their confidence and capabilities. Sally references a survey the Guardian did in 2022 with 2,000 women. Out of the 2,000 women, 62% said menopause impacts their work, 33% said they do not talk about their symptoms, and 43% were too embarrassed to ask for support.  Again, Sally reiterated her advice of seeking medical support, as everyone is different. Try to assess your lifestyle habits, diet, and general health – this should also help regain your confidence.  Furthermore, try not to make any rash decisions, like turning down a promotion or leaving your career. For example, decision makers and managers may not know the origin of your decision to leave a company and take that at face value. Whereas, if they are made aware that you are going through menopause, the decision can be questioned further, and support can be provided.  Priding herself on being a tough individual, Sally admits to struggling and adapting in the workplace. She shares a story of sitting in the office car park and crying as she physically couldn't bring herself to attend a meeting, resulting in two days out of work. There is then a debate about how organisations note this absence, as the menopause itself is not an illness. Therefore, the need for organisations to host sessions and talk about experiences and symptoms can help others out there, both internally and externally. If you do have a negative reaction from a manager, Sally recommends going to HR or finding the individuals in the organisation who you can have a more fruitful conversation with. You can also reach out to Sally on LinkedIn for further help and advice.  In the long-term, Sally's overarching goal is to shake the shame and start a conversation. This includes raising awareness, helping support and change the narrative in the workplace, and ultimately helping those who may be struggling.  The more the conversation is approached, the more people can open up and talk about it. This will then create a spiral effect and have an impact on others.   Organisations should support women going through perimenopause or menopause and that transition of life, she says. Hopefully, organisations will also see this as a positive initiative to help retain their workforce.  We're pleased to share a range of resources recommended by Sally, which you may find useful:  https://henpicked.net/ https://kathryncolasacademy.com/ https://www.emmabardwell.com/ https://www.newsonhealth.co.uk/ https://www.theagingproject.com.au/   To help you find the most relevant part of the episode for you, please use these timestamps: 03:35 - Sally's experience with menopause 08:35 - The spark that made Sally want to talk about menopause 11:50 - Planning for conversations with managers 20:25 – Advice for managers, employers, or organisations 29:10 - Having the conversation with men vs. women 35:00 - How to deal with a manager who downplays your situation 39:35 - Sally's long-term goal   The EMEA Recruitment podcast is produced in partnership with international medical charity Operation Smile. I really loved the simplicity and loving way Barry shared his life's experiences turned life's work. Although he never said it, he has seamlessly made it his life's mission to turn on those he comes across towards love so that more of the world can be participants in their lives, not simply Sims players.  (Psst: you can watch this episode on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix6QcA8Pnik&list=PLqJlsqFwDhTmTG6TvWzPVuiVDMa75HvQO&index=2 (here)).  Ground yourself into this jam-packed spiritually-elevated schooling as Barry Nicolaou and I in this jam-packed spiritually-elevated schooling as we jive on:  How fate's whispers became screams for Barry on an otherwise ordinary day while killing time in a cemetery The freedom that comes from surrendering to the moment in contrast to the chains of attempting to control the details of our lives How shifting perspectives of business into more of an energetic system can improve life quality of employees and employee productivity What happens when you start to believe that your challenges are lessons in love The science of how thoughts become things and how, if you are ready, to shift your viewpoints How we individually move through the highs and lows of committed partnership The challenges that faces parents as a whole, conscious parents, and conscious parents bringing in children during Covid  And SO much more! Kathleen Donnelly Israel is the best-selling author of Wisdom on the Camino, A Spiritual Journey Sharing Forgiveness and Possibilities to Inspire the Rest of Your Life. Over the 17 years she took care of her husband with Parkinson's Disease, she listened to and did emotional healing work with many enlightened thought leaders online. She quickly formulated many Philosophies of her own. After her husband's passing, she decided to walk the Pilgrimage: The Camino Santiago de Compastela 500 miles across Northern Spain at the age of 69. She wrote her book about her adventures, sharing her philosophies with the people she met along the way, and the beauty of the nature on the Camino. I had so much fun riffing on this episode of FEMboldened, with communication coach and founder of Master Talk, Brenden Kumarasamy. Join us as we vibe on: How Brenden went from studying accounting to coaching his fellow students on how to master their case competitions (public speaking!) The obstacles he had to overcome from childhood in order to become an expert in his craft The trajectory to overcoming fear of speaking and what ACTUALLY holds us back from public speaking The three steps you can start today to improve your communication skills How taking life less seriously can be your ticket to calling in what you truly desire And how we can help foster the effective communication of our youngsters Brenden Kumarasamy is communication coach and the founder of MasterTalk. After many years of doing presentation case competitions (think professional sports for nerds) in university, he accidentally developed a skill in helping others communicate effectively and started the YouTube channel MasterTalk because he realized that what he had to offer was far beyond the “imagine everyone in their underpants” advice. He started filming videos on communication in his mom's basement and with the goal of helping everyone master this important skill. Since he has coached ambitious executives & entrepreneurs to become top 1% communicators in their industry. He also has a popular YouTube channel called MasterTalk, with the goal of providing free access to communication tools for everyone in the world. Our second premiere of the day comes from Closer Orbit as he releases an EP on Detroit's Motech Records. 'Rave Things' is an ode to Detroit, as Closer Orbit channels the classic slamming groove, combined with deep and soulful undertones. Detroit's Motech Records welcomes Nicolaas Black to the fold, as he unveils his newest project Closer Orbit with the ‘Rave Things EP'. A four track project that see Nico return to the roots of his sound and to the basics of techno funk. Nico has a long musical history, from his exposure to opera and classical at a young age to the experimental explosion in the 90s via artists like Front 242, KMFDM, 808 State, Nitzer Ebb and NIN. After attending his first illegal rave in Detroit, he learned to mix vinyl and the progression to a dancefloor aesthetic was sealed. His instinct led to a 6 year sojourn in Chicago, where he was fortunate to meet some of the seminal pioneers of house, and began assisting studio sessions at Slang Music Group - Frankie Knuckles, Paul Johnson, Joe Smooth, Ron Carroll, Craig Loftus and Vince Lawrence, amongst others. Later he worked for Mark Picchiotti at Blueplate Records, rounding out his 4-on-the-floor education. He also engineered a “Pigface” album for Martin Atkins of P.I.L. fame, solidifying his industrial roots. Countless DJ sets, raves, festivals and recording sessions later, he is now based in Los Angeles and stays committed to the studio and impromptu surf missions. A consummate producer, under several monikers his music and sets bridge the width of the underground dance music spectrum, from Chicago to Detroit, Berlin to LA; from techno to electro, jazz to funky house, disco, acid, industrial and beyond. His reproduction of Fela Kuti's ‘Zombie' remains a seminal warehouse favourite and 2020's ‘The Sun' has to-date racked up well over a million plays on SoundCloud. Priding himself on constant evolution and growth, he presents his Closer Orbit incarnation. ‘Rave Things EP' releases on 17 June, and features 4 new tracks that draw from his many influences including the monster house opener ‘Piano Track' and melodious ‘State Of (I Still Believe)', to the Detroitesque ‘Rave Things,' before the deep and synthy ‘Foldspace' closes this varied and reflective EP. 'Rave Things' is a peak time dance-floor bliss, as Nico works a 909 to the fullest and stabs and strings simmer around the front of the tracks soundscape. This is techno at it's rawest, funkiest and best. Zion was born on September 29, 1997 in Columbus, OH. Due to his condition (Caudal Regression Syndrome...born with no legs), and his birth mother's inability to care for him, Zion was immediately thrust into the foster care system. Thus, his journey to find a permanent home and a someone to call "mom" began. Over the course of the next 16 years Zion moved numerous times and found himself in a variety of circumstances and environments...many of them unfavorable. There were situations when Zion was mentally abused, physically bullied, and underfed...but he remained optimistic (faith in God). Being physically different from others didn't help, but Zion used a positive mindset, gracious demeanor, and diligent study habits to make friends and excel academically. Zion was introduced to the sport of wrestling while in elementary school, but initially didn't fare very well...in fact, he didn't win a match for several years. Upon entering Massillon High School, Zion met Coach Gil Donahue who recognized his passion for the sport and relentless work ethic. A wonderful friendship and bond was forged. Over the next 3 years Zion improved his wrestling technique and hit the weight room like a man possessed. An amazing transformation followed! Part of this miraculous course of events included Zion being adopted by a woman who had been praying for a son for years! In dramatic fashion, the process was completed only within days before Zion was officially scheduled to be legally aged-out (no chance of adoption). In his senior year, Zion finished the season 33-15 and was one match from qualifying for the D-I Ohio High School State Wrestling Championships. In an incredible display of heart and determination, Zion wrestled his opponent (a 20 pd. weight differential) beyond the grueling 6 minutes of regulation and 2 overtimes...only to fall 1-0 in sudden death. The fans in the packed gymnasium rose to their feet and zealously applauded Zion's courageous effort. A few months later Zion went on to capture his second high school track wheel chair racing title at the state championships. Zion's herculean efforts hadn't gone unnoticed as a Hollywood producer documented his journey during senior year. The film "Zion" garnered critical acclaim at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival (2018) and global media exposure (it's currently available on Netflix). Zion was recruited by several colleges to wrestle and chose to attend Kent State (Tuscarawas)...where he spent the following 2 years steadily improving his skills and finding success at the varsity level. With his confidence and national ranking on the rise, Zion decided to embark on his toughest mission to date...becoming the first American Athlete to compete in both the Olympic (wrestling) and Paralympic (wheelchair racing) Games in Tokyo (2020). Understanding the magnitude of this difficult challenge, Zion has surrounded himself with a very dedicated and highly supportive team...including budding friendships with Olympic/World Champion Jordan Burroughs and undefeated (133-0) 4x NCAA titlist Joey Davis. Due to his tremendous upper body strength and athleticism, Zion is also pursuing interests in power lifting (bench press), wheelchair bodybuilding, and the circus arts. In addition to his brutal training/practice regimen, Zion stays busy as a motivational speaker. The moral of Zion's inspirational story is that things don't always go smoothly in life...but in order to succeed, you must adapt to your individual circumstances. Priding himself in hard work, Zion offers that there are no excuses...or shortcuts! It's all about faith, passion, and perseverance. Zion urges others to "Be Greater Than" > ...the obstacles you face. YOU, and only YOU are in control of your destiny!

I set off from Clapham to catch the train to Lancaster where my friend, the Author, would meet me. She would then drive to her house in Clapham. That's Clapham Yorkshire, from where we would stride out for some good bracing walks, a thing we both love to do. Turns out that I'd been sold the wrong tickets again, and the train that I'd asked for, and confirmed, my seats reservations on, was not the train I expected. That train had left an hour ago. Just to compound matters my breakfast was now lying on the concourse of Euston station due to an unsecured drinks lid. All of this was rectified by a swift repeat purchase. I am amazed by how fast I can move in the face of missing breakfast. It turns out that there are two exits at Lancaster station. The Author was waiting at one and I was outside the other one, enjoying the taxi rank banter, when our texts crossed. She would come and find me. The time was not wasted. In my drive to improve my core stability, because diminishing sight tends to challenge balance, I achieved a hands free tip toe stand for ten seconds before my ankles buckled under the strain. I like to indulge in this particular exercise snack every time I find myself in a queue and the ten second challenge has eluded me ever since I began. Who would imagine such a small triumph could bring such joy? Ankle strength is not wasted, because Yorkshire is a land of hills. While I know this intellectually, lack of three dimensional vision makes the upward gradient a surprise and the descent,  full of even greater surprises. The Author trotted ahead with practiced agility. She's fitter than me. I claimed the slow stretch of my pace, as we climbed, a consequence of poor balance. While a blind truth, the greater truth is that speech would have been impossible had I attempted anything faster. I'm not sure if pauses to point out the lay of the land and our proximity to the #five peaks was a kindness born of painting the picture, or an act of preservation less I should expire. Whatever it was, we managed to talk while we walked. Going up is one thing. Coming down is another thing altogether and out came the hiking pole that acts to give a sense of what the eye cannot see. In all the years of walking I have never had an injury. Priding myself on what is possible rather than what is difficult, we began our descent, when over I went. Winded but unbowed, we pressed on, the pain in my ribs taking a grip. So much for my willingness to take a risk. “Yep, you've cracked your rib and sprained it, ” said the Physio Witch. “I'll strap that up. I hope you've got good pain killers. It's going to take about six weeks.” Then she got out her acupuncture needles and stuck two of then into my hand to help with the pain. An agony shot through me like chewing on tinfoil. The Physio Witch exhibited no signs of sympathy. “Don't scream. The cats don't like.” she said. I have had to concede that trotting about with a computer in a ruck sack isn't helping so I'm at home. “Rest up this week,” ordered the practice nurse. The pain killers have kicked in now. I'm bored. I've started on line shopping and the new pair of purple hiking poles have just arrived. I've checked in early for a flight that will take me away from it all on a coastal walk with sheer drops and plenty of steep gradients. Worrying won't help.

[Quran Chapter 35] 38. God is the Knower of the future of the heavens and the earth. He knows what the hearts contain. 39. It is He who made you successors on earth. Whoever disbelieves, his disbelief will recoil upon him. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their Lord's disfavor of them. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their perdition. 40. Say, "Have you considered those partners of yours that you worship instead of God? Show me what they have created on earth. Or do they have any share in the heavens?" Or have We given them a book whose clear teachings they follow? In fact, the wrongdoers promise one another nothing but delusions. 41. God holds the heavens and the earth, lest they fall apart. And were they to fall apart, there is none to hold them together except He. He is Most Clement, Most Forgiving. 42. And they swore by God with their solemn oaths, that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than any other people. Yet when a warner came to them, it only increased them in aversion. 43. Priding themselves on earth, and scheming evil. But evil scheming overwhelms none but its authors. Do they expect anything but the precedent of the ancients? You will not find any change in God's practice, and you will not find any substitute to God's practice. 44. Have they not journeyed in the land and observed the fate of those who preceded them? They were superior to them in strength. But nothing can defeat God in the heavens or on Earth. He is indeed Omniscient and Omnipotent. 45. If God were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave a single living creature on its surface. But He defers them until a stated time. Then, when their time has arrived—God is Observant of His creatures. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mochzamroni/support

Confessions of a Bikini Pro

In this episode, Celeste talks with Tina Denoff, proving to us that at any age, at any time, and with any other obligations you can still prioritize yourself. She is a mother of two and has 3 fur babies as well living in sunny Florida after years of Michigan winters. Priding herself as a natural athlete this competitor started her journey in the NPC in 2019 and just went pro in October 2020 at teen collegiate and masters nationals winning first in her bikini masters over 50 class and 2nd in masters over 45  Celeste starts off the episode by asking Tina if she has a specific ritual she performs before hitting the stage. Tina shares the many rituals she has that all play a crucial role in her daily life and throughout the various stages of her prep. Celeste mentions the importance of precision with habits and rituals not just daily but leading up to show day. Next, Celeste mentions Tina’s commitment to implement the habit of “rest, reconnect, and listen” and has Tina share how she plans on prioritizing that goal. Tina discusses the importance the gym has in her routine and how, although it is a hobby, she is lucky to be able to compete yet that she must remember the importance of also setting aside time to be present with her family. Next, Celeste asks Tina if this is a lifestyle she had always led or something she came to adopt.  Moving forward, Tina opens up and shares that finding the gym was an accident. She talks about her past as a runner and how an ice skating injury which resulted in ACL surgery ultimately led to her finding resistance training, as her doctor had recommended she not return to running. Tina discusses how she  started researching and changing up her diet on her own as something to help with inflammation issues she was experiencing post surgery. Then, somewhat by chance, she found that combination of her new diet and light resistance training at home sparked her interest and she found herself signing up for her first gym membership, and then hiring a trainer. She explains the feelings she had while watching her physique begin to evolve and progress with the more time she spent in the gym. Tina also shares a time of personal hardship and the gratitude she felt for the community her gym has blessed her with. After seeing how her body was changing, Tina started to be asked if she was going to compete. Those questions inspired her to research the sport and from there she contacted her first coach. Together, they both decided it was time for Tina to start training for her first competition. Tina mentions that she “started from zero,” learning the basics such as “what is a macro?” and how to properly train for a show. After sharing her beginnings in the sport, Tina dives into the details of her cringe-worthy story from her experience at North Americans, her first national show. She mentions how the day was “off” from the beginning and what unraveled from there.  Tina shares not only the mishaps from her admitted lack of attention to detail in preparation for prejudging but how she eventually made it to the stage. Tina recounts, from start to finish, every mishap and mistake that she encountered and overcame, but also shares the main takeaways of what the experience as a whole taught her. Among those mistakes included one of the biggest any competitor could make - missing her class for finals. Upon turning to the hotel room with feelings of both disbelief and disappointment, Tina found herself in a difficult place mentally, debating whether or not she should continue to pursue her pro card in Orlando the following month. She felt conflicted, having prepped for so long and not wanting to continue without the support from her family. Celeste asks Tina about her decision to go ahead and compete in Orlando and what she did to prepare her mindset for this next challenge after all the difficulties North Americans presented.  After sharing her experiences in Orlando, Celeste asks Tina what she has been focusing on since winning her pro card. Tina shares how she has approached her improvement season and what she is planning in terms of her pro debut. Celeste asks Tina more about why she chooses not to share progress photos unless she’s in a cutting phase and the strategy and reasoning behind it. Next, Celeste asks Tina about her family’s thoughts on competing, and how she told her family and friends about wanting to embrace this new lifestyle. From there, Tina talks about the nature of her relationship with her husband, and how they consciously make time for one another and prioritize their relationship, despite being quite opposite. Tina also discusses the areas of life in which she feels she lacks balance while in prep and acknowledges that while bodybuilding is a hobby that she values dearly, she needs to make the experience both enjoyable for herself and for those around her. To conclude the episode, Tina shares her best advice for native competitors and for the girls on their road to pro and then shares how listeners can find and connect with her further. Jay Kinder is CEO and co-founder of the National Association of Expert Advisors and co-host of the popular podcast, Face to Face with Jay Kinder and Michael Reese.  Together they are taking their proven track records as successful mega agents and are doing what nobody else in the real estate industry has been willing to do.  Focusing on agent productivity.  In the 127 Billion dollar real estate industry, where none of the major brands manage the customer experience, they’ve carved out a niche by doing what Steve Jobs found to be true.  Saying no more than saying yes.  While most companies have focused on eliminating the ever so resilient real estate agent they’ve aligned with them.  Rather than selling to the masses of marginal agents as most new technologies have, they decided to only focus on agents that have set out to be the local expert.  By partnering with agents they have been able to add more value to those agents, ramping up their businesses to market dominating positions.  It’s working too, as the Inc. 5000 has awarded them one of the fastest growing companies in America for six years in a row.   Jay Kinder is a real estate entrepreneur who went from small-town kid to master business growth strategist recognized throughout the real estate industry. Nobody in the tiny town of Walters, Oklahoma, population 2,142, would have voted this notably ‘ornery’ and average student most likely to succeed, but that didn’t stop him from building an impressive real estate brand positioning him as the #2 Coldwell Banker Agent Worldwide, Small Business Administration Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Realtor Magazine’s 30 under 30, Wall Street Journal’s top 25 agents worldwide, and a laundry list of high achievement awards all by the age of 30 years old. By the time Jay was 25 years old, he had become a local celebrity and commanded 14% market share of all home sales in his area.  By the time he was 28, his passion for real estate expanded as he and his business partner Michael Reese, a top agent that got into real estate after seeing Jay’s incredible business success, decided to open the doors of a new business together. They began recreating their own success by helping agents like themselves master massive growth and celebrity stardom in their own real estate markets. Through the National Association of Expert Advisors, they have been credited for helping thousands of real estate agents strategically grow their businesses with their proven and market-tested ideas. Jay and Michael have had a simple philosophy of adding value to people's lives.     In November of 2017, they made a move that nobody saw coming.  Priding themselves on being radically open-minded and always seeking a better way,  they partnered with longtime friend and client Al Stasek and joined eXp Realty where together they are growing their enterprise in the U.S. and Canada with Global expansion on the horizon.  This partnership has allowed them to completely align with agents that want to grow their business and take advantage of the unparalleled revenue share program offered exclusively through eXp Realty.  Their passion has allowed them to surround themselves with the best mentors in the world as they continue to focus on their own personal growth.  That growth has translated to one of the fastest-growing revenue sharing groups in eXp with a focus on agent success at the core of their strategy.       In this episode, Karen and Jay discuss: Success Story of Jay Commit to Get Leads Create a large audience and identify those who are interested then target them.  Consult to Sell The things that go ahead of you should position you to sell and position you as the expert. Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio's sponsor for 2020 joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick in this New Year's Day Radio episode. Southeast Regional Manager of New American Funding Gina Spearman is in studio to discuss the company and the new sponsorship. Spearman is a 25-year veteran of the mortgage lending business and a business partner of Kelly Allison for 20 years! Three years ago, Spearman, Allison and the rest of their team joined New American Funding to help grow the southeast market. “I think what we're most proud of is the fact that we have really been able to provide homeownership in so many communities throughout the southeast,” said Spearman. “We are honored and proud to say that along with a lot of our great referral partners, Realtors, builders and the homebuying community that we provided homeownership for over 8,000 families in 2019.” New American Funding realizes that providing a mortgage is a transaction, but also understand it is a process that provides homeownership and helps fulfil dreams. New American Funding is a national and direct lender, meaning they hold the mortgages themselves. In most cases, buyers and borrowers make payments directly to New American Funding as opposed to a bank branch or chain. Spearman dives into the benefits of being a direct lender including the following. Customer Service Accessibility and Interaction with the Original Loan Officer Referral Partners Appear on Mortgage Statement Increased Branding for Referral Partners Stability and Peace of Mind for Borrowers New American Funding serves several market sectors due to its abundance of resources and the product mix available to them as a national organization. From serving the first-time homebuyer who needs extra guidance, to helping clients with an in-house rescore program designed for borrowers who have had a rough time or extenuating circumstances, New American Funding handles a myriad of different cases. Priding themselves in being a one-stop-shop, New American Funding can handle any and all lending needs. “We try to put our money where our mouth is,” said Spearman. “If we say we are committed to homeownership to those that are deserving, then you have to have the tools and the resources in-house to make that happen. You can't be a cherry picker and just provide loans to people with an 800-credit score with 20 percent down.” Not only does New American Funding provide all conventional loans including FHA, VA and USDA, but it also offers any down payment assistance programs available in the market. One of the more popular products, especially among first-time homebuyers, is the 100 percent financing program. When you’re a health geek like myself, getting knocked over by a nasty flu virus for 10 days can really tip you over.I don’t just mean with fevers and flu symptoms, I mean mentally.Priding myself on not getting sick while everyone at work and home succumbed to winter bugs, I mistakenly believed I was bullet proof. But pride comes before a fall and fall I did - hard.I’m not sure how many times I deliriously contacted my doctor asking for cat scans and intensive testing as to what it must be that I was dying of, but she kept patiently reassuring me to wait it out, to accept I had the flu.Not possible, I thought, looking accusingly at my many health supplements and lypospheric Vitamin C sachets. But during my convalescence I read Dr Libby Weaver’s new book, ‘The Invisible Load – a guide to overcoming stress and overwhelm’. She reckons the stress we carry today is often an ‘invisible load’, the bits no one sees which drive our physical and emotional load. Stuff like expectations, the drive to be a good person, managing ourselves, our families, our jobs and even our social media profiles well, clearing our inboxes, responding to all the people who require things of us.She talked about stress hacks like turning off notifications – fewer ‘pings’ in your life demanding your attention, more nature, less junk, more whole food, less screentime, more belly breathing. But she also addressed the generational differences in what stresses us out.Dr Libby says when she asks women in their 20s what stresses them out, it’s their Instagram and their body, whereas women in their 40s are more likely to stress about an overflowing inbox or to-do list. Both, she says, are the same thing: perceived failure. Worrying about how others see us.What I think is heartening though is that the next generation is getting better at recognising all this.A recent NZ Herald editorial titled ‘Generation Anxious reaches out for help,’ talked about how this generation is ‘set apart by its willingness to seek help’.It cites a recent report which says: ‘One young adult in every five has sought mental health treatment in the past year.’So surely that gives us hope that when it comes to the invisible load, and stress, younger people are getting better at sticking their hands up sooner. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re any less likely to get the flu, but it does mean they’re more willing to accept they’re not bullet proof. Which hopefully means they make smart changes for their bodies and minds, accordingly.
