One-Act Play Collections - Book 12, Part 3 Title: One-Act Play Collections - Volume 12 Overview: Here are 10 One-Act Plays for your enjoyment. They range from a 1659 farce by Moliere to an 1896 play by Fuller with early LGBT content; a Gilbert play without Sullivan's music, and many other short gems to make you laugh, cry, think, or all three. A one-act play is a play that has only one act and is distinct from plays that occur over several acts. One-act plays may consist of one or more scenes. The 20-40 minute play has emerged as a popular subgenre of the one-act play, especially in writing competitions. One-act plays make up the overwhelming majority of Fringe Festival shows including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The origin of the one-act play may be traced to the very beginning of recorded Western drama: in ancient Greece, Cyclops, a satyr play by Euripides, is an early example. The satyr play was a farcical short work that came after a trilogy of multi-act serious drama plays. A few notable examples of one-act plays emerged before the 19th century including various versions of the Everyman play and works by Moliere and Calderon. One act plays became more common in the 19th century and is now a standard part of repertory theatre and fringe festivals. Spiritual development requires an open heart. It is virtually impossible for a seeker to advance to higher consciousness if they don't love themselves. The belief system which has been ingrained in our cellular memory from childhood that we are not good enough results in a conditioned mind. The conditioned mind holds the false belief that there is something missing in our lives, that we are incomplete, that we need to gain something in order to become happy and whole, which is not true. After a life time of searching, Zarathustra has blended a practical system of Eastern and Western methods and techniques to help the Academy members to free themselves from anxiety, negative thoughts, lack of self-love and self-acceptance and destructive emotional patterns through a systematic way to raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency, which enables you to live a vibrant life of freedom and happiness. The Key Elements To Freedom:Zarathustra recognizes continuity and consistency are the key elements to freedom. In order to help you achieve your spiritual goals, it's best to have a highly effective spiritual practice, free of dogmas, false beliefs and superstition that helps you raise your vibration to 5D Vibrational Frequency as well as the ability to maintain this newly found higher level of consciousness. This translates to a life filled with inner peace, self-love and happiness which is the goal of every spiritual seeker.New knowledge and benefits are gained with each replay. But sitting here in 2025, after watching at least 3 years of falling prices, it's natural to wonder if the party's over. Send us a textSaddle up for a journey into the heart of podcast storytelling excellence as we explore the remarkable success of the Wild West Podcast. Since 2017, this captivating show has transported listeners back to frontier America through its perfect tagline: "where fact and legend merge."What makes this podcast truly exceptional is the extraordinary partnership that brings each episode to life. Michael King serves as the meticulous researcher and writer, crafting historically accurate narratives that go beyond the audio medium into carefully illustrated dime novel-style publications. This isn't just historical recounting—it's a deliberate homage to the very format that originally popularized Western tales 150 years ago. Meanwhile, Brad Smalley delivers each story with authentic frontier gravitas, his signature "Howdy from Dodge City" greeting backed by genuine credentials as a local Boot Hill gunfighter and historical reenactor. When Smalley narrates, you're not just hearing history; you're connecting with someone deeply embedded in the traditions and physical space that shaped these legendary tales. While other Western podcasts cast wide nets across the entire frontier or rely on cinematic production values, the Wild West Podcast takes a different approach. By focusing intensely on Dodge City and prioritizing substance over flash, King and Smalley have created something remarkably authentic. Their 260+ episodes, typically running 20-30 minutes each, cover both iconic figures and obscure historical moments with equal dedication. The result? A show that's reached listeners in 150 countries and maintains an impressive 4.6-star rating. It proves something powerful about storytelling today: in our digital age, deeply local knowledge delivered through genuine voices can resonate globally, ensuring these complex, sometimes contradictory, but eternally fascinating chapters of American history continue to echo for generations to come. WARNING: THIS EPISODE DISCUSSES SUICIDE AND ITS HIGH RATE OF FATALITY AMONG MEN WORLDWIDE (MEN SUICIDE FATALITY RATES ARE 3.5 to 4 TIMES HIGHER THAN WOMEN ACCORDING TO WHO.)  If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or know of someone struggling with suicide, call 988 or text 988 or text TALK to 741741. In this special episode of THE SOULFAM PODCAST, Brett Cotter (@stressisgone on Insta) discusses his four step program to release stress and anxiety in a few moments. As a trauma expert with more than 25-years experience helping people break free from emotional pain and memories, Brett is the author of The Stress Is Gone Method, The Suicide Prevention Family Handbook, and 3 Keys to Managing PTSD. Brett has brought his signature method to Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, schools, military bases, and retreat centers including the Omega Institute, Kripalu, Sivananda Bahamas, and the Himalayan Institute. He is the trauma expert for Meditation University's teacher training program, certifies students and mental health professionals online, and trains Vet-to-Vet Peer Specialists in his Suicide Prevention Protocol. Brett's approach is a compassionate blend of Eastern and Western philosophies mixed with humor, making him a captivating public speaker and an amazing guest on THE SOULFAM PODCAST. Brett shares his methods using body language and listening cues to further communication and his methods for recognizing anxiety and overwhelm. And then to break free to find joy, happiness and success. Brett hostws his first men's only retreat at the Omega Institute during Fourth of July weekend at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY  recently.  Having taught and shared his foolproof to women only retreats and co-ed retreats, Brett found a necessity for a men's only retreat. You can still sign up for weekend retreat at www.stressisgone.com or qualify for a scholarship to the retreat at www.stressisgone.org if you are a first responder or U.S. military veteran. Brett shares in this episode how men experience and understand emotions and pain differently than women with complete respect and admiration for each. Women often turn to each other for support and a listening ear. Women also inherently know because their experiences with their own menstrual cycles, birth, deaths, marriages and divorces that pain will eventually subside and things will at some point get better. But men, says Brett, experience pain and emotionality differently. Men compact pain and emotional often without release and without hope of escape or relief. That pain and unresolved emotion builds, compacting and pressurizing until there is nothing but darkness. Hence men are 3.5  to 4 times more likely to succeed at suicide than women.  Women, according to WHO data, make more frequent attempts at suicide, but often recover. Men make fewer attempts according to WHO, but often succeed.  In his work, Brett helps clients find the original source of their pain. He himself shares his experience with jealousy at age 27. At that time, he found his relationships always ended due his jealousy. Determined to resolve this issue, Brett began unearthing his pain. During  some time spent in Sedona, AZ, Brett found his core wound through a healer and a light being who showed him that jealousy was not the problem. Instead, Brett had experienced feelings of abandonment as a child. You can reach Brett through his website at www.stressisgone.com or call 877-867-3529.   Support the show@dianamarcketta@lexisaldin

A witness and survivor to Israel's genocide on Gaza, Somaia Abunada remembers the life and legacy of her older sister Heba Abunada — poet, scientist, and beloved daughter of Gaza — who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on October 20, 2023. __________________________________ Support 100% independent, Palestinian-led media taking on the pro-genocide Western media from as little as £1 per month: https://www.palestinedeepdive.com/support __________________________________ Heba Abunada (1991–2023) was more than a poet. She was Gaza's radiance — a biochemist, a writer, and a visionary thinker whose words carried generations of Palestinian pain and resistance. Her poems traced the delicate threads between loss and longing, life and liberation. She wrote as if Gaza breathed through her. But Heba's life was cut short in the beginning of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza. She was killed while on her prayer mat, during one of the most violent days of the genocide. Her final words on Facebook that morning read: “In Gaza, we are with God, either as martyrs or as witnesses to liberation, and all of us are waiting to see which we will be.” Somaia Abunada is the younger sister of Heba. She is a former Fulbright language teaching assistant, she holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Translation Studies. Somaia is currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Applied Intercultural Communication at Trinity College Dublin. She has worked as an English teacher with the Irish Red Cross, social media coordinator with We Are Not Numbers, as a writer, and an activities coordinator and translator. Hala Hanina is a social and political activist from Gaza. She is currently completing a PhD in politics and sociology which focuses on Palestinian women at the intersection of colonial and patriarchal violence.

Today I'm talking about how men are being artificially controlled by sex. This ain't about the natural biological drive—we all got that—but about how the modern world, with social media and all these ass models, is using sex to control men in ways our grandparents never dealt with. I break down how this weakens our discipline and how that's playing a big role in the collapse of Western society. If the men are off, the whole culture goes down. I've touched on this in other episodes, but today we're going deeper. Show Notes:  [02:38]#1 Life in general used to be relatively hard, especially for a man.  [11:18]#2 Sex is the top selling product of all time, and it is part of the convenient and exploitative package of easily available distraction. He is a filmmaker and director, most recently coming out with Brilliant Disguise. Brilliant Disguise tells the unique story of a group of inspired Western spiritual seekers from the 60s, who in meeting the great American teacher, Ram Dass, followed him to India to meet his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba, familiarly known as Maharaj-ji. Two days before he left his body, Maharaj-ji instructed K.C. Tewari to take care of the Westerners, which he did resolutely until the day he died in 1997. Silver's #1 charting MGM/UA/Warners film, “The Compleat Beatles” is the critically acclaimed biopic movie about history's most famous band. The term ‘rockumentary' was first applied to this two-hour movie. Rolling Stone recently described the film as a “masterwork.” Silver's Warner Brothers' feature film, “No Nukes” also started the whole trend of music/activism feature documentaries. "He was an advocate, always, of looking at yourself. He felt that the deeper truths about the meaning of living do not come from anyone else, even if the greatest guru is in front of you, it still comes from what you yourself are truly embedded in properly. In other words, that's what you believe when you're alone, silent, not having to impress, not having to compare."– David SilverSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this expansive episode, Ghost dives deep into Africa's shifting alliances and the global scramble for critical resources. He opens with Trump's Africa Summit, where five West African nations were invited to Washington to negotiate trade deals centered on rare earth minerals, oil, and gas. Ghost methodically dissects NPR and AP coverage, showing how Western media narratives obscure the real incentives driving U.S. outreach, countering China's and Russia's growing footholds across the continent. Using detailed maps and timelines, he explains how military coups in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have created a new power bloc aligned with Russia, and why Liberia, Gabon, and others were strategically selected for engagement. The conversation moves to the Pentagon's controversial investment in MP Materials, effectively nationalizing America's only rare earth mine to break dependence on Chinese supply chains. Ghost then pivots to Israel's turmoil, exploring how Netanyahu's government is trapped between domestic collapse, far-right coalition partners, and stalled Gaza negotiations. With plenty of sidebars, on rare earth land grabs, CIA-backed coups, and the long game of economic warfare, this episode is equal parts exposé and history lesson, revealing how old empires still pull the strings behind modern headlines.

Interview with Andre Liebenberg, Executive Director & CEO of Yellow Cake PLCOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/slow-supply-fast-demand-uraniums-new-investment-reality-7136Recording date: 7th July 2025Yellow Cake presents a compelling pure-play uranium investment opportunity positioned to capitalize on structural supply-demand imbalances in the global uranium market. The London-listed company holds approximately 22 million pounds of physical uranium stored primarily in Canada and France, providing direct exposure to uranium price appreciation without operational mining risks. The investment thesis centers on a fundamental supply deficit that is expected to persist for 3-5 years. Current global uranium production delivers approximately 165 million pounds annually against demand of 180 million pounds and rising, creating an immediate gap of 15 million pounds that is projected to widen as nuclear capacity expansion accelerates globally. China alone is constructing 26-28 reactors simultaneously, while technology companies increasingly turn to nuclear power for reliable, clean electricity to power data centers and artificial intelligence operations.Technology sector involvement represents a transformative catalyst for uranium demand. Amazon's $20 billion commitment to data center complexes alone represents half the market capitalization of the entire uranium sector, highlighting the scale of capital these companies are willing to deploy for energy security. As CEO Andre Liebenberg notes, "If a tech company had to put 20 billion dollars into the mining space, you could build a pretty big project for that." This suggests technology companies possess sufficient resources to directly address supply constraints through upstream investments if fuel security becomes a constraint to their operations.Supply-side constraints appear particularly acute given the limited number of producing jurisdictions. Five countries produce 90% of global uranium, with Kazakhstan accounting for approximately half of world production. Much of this flows to China and Russia, creating a "bifurcated market" where Western utilities face increasing competition for uranium supplies. As Liebenberg explains, "Kazakhstan, half their material goes to China. If you include Russia, it's probably closer to 2/3. Namibia, the two operating mines in Namibia are both owned by the Chinese that goes to China."Critical inventory depletion adds urgency to the supply situation. US utilities now hold approximately two years or less of uranium reserves against an 18-24 month fuel cycle, representing what Liebenberg characterizes as "the low point of their infantry." This follows nearly a decade of utilities contracting below consumption levels, a practice that cannot continue indefinitely. The eventual resumption of utility contracting represents a key catalyst for uranium price appreciation.Yellow Cake's strategic positioning provides multiple competitive advantages. The company's agreement with Kazatomprom allows $100 million annual uranium acquisitions at spot prices through 2027, providing assured access to supply in an increasingly thin market. As Liebenberg observes, "With the spot market today, you saw Sprott raise $200 million and the spot market popped $7 without them spending a penny. It's a very thin and liquid market. So $100 million volume will move the price."The company's track record demonstrates strategy effectiveness. Yellow Cake raised $200 million at IPO when uranium traded at $21 per pound and has grown to over $1.5 billion in market capitalization with uranium at $76 per pound. Liebenberg expresses confidence in continued appreciation: "I'm still of the belief that we could see a doubling in the uranium price. We're sort of partway through that journey."Government policy support for nuclear expansion, including the World Bank's decision to resume nuclear project funding and support from 14 major banks for tripling nuclear capacity, creates favorable regulatory tailwinds. Small modular reactor development adds another demand catalyst, with commercial operation possible by the end of the decade.Yellow Cake PLC offers investors direct uranium exposure through a transparent, risk-controlled business model positioned to benefit from structural supply-demand imbalances and technology sector-driven demand growth over the next 3-5 years.View Yellow Cake's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/yellow-cake-plcSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

With the U.S. Agency for International Development officially dismantled and its remnants folded into the State Department, the landscape of global aid is at a turning point. We delve into expert perspectives on what the future of foreign assistance might entail, exploring proposed transformations from widening the donor base beyond traditional Western nations to building new institutions and streamlining existing ones, such as the United Nations. This reimagining of aid aims to create a more effective and equitable system for a world grappling with evolving challenges and shifting geopolitical dynamics. With France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States all cutting their aid budgets at the same time for the first time in decades, many low- and middle-income countries are facing steep declines in support. While African leaders have called the cuts “brutal,” they have also maintained that the slashing of foreign aid may act as the wake-up call needed to break their dependency on traditional donors. We also analyze President Trump's "big, beautiful bill" and its potential implications for the global development sector. In this episode, I sit down with Episcopal priest and author Leyla King to explore her deeply moving memoir Daughters of Palestine. Told through the voices of five generations of Palestinian women, Leyla's book offers a powerful counter-narrative to the dominant Western framing of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through personal and ancestral stories, she sheds light on the lived experience of Palestinian Christians - stories of displacement, resilience, and unshakable faith. We talk about the intersection of identity and belief, the legacy of generational trauma, and the need to name injustice while holding on to hope. Leyla helps us see why understanding history through human stories is crucial, how reconciliation must be rooted in truth and accountability, and how small acts of listening and proximity can disrupt cycles of vengeance. This is a conversation about the power of story, the pain of loss, and the possibility of healing. It invites us not only to see the full humanity of Palestinians but to reflect on how we might live more faithfully in a fractured world.Leyla K. How can anyone forget those photos of Trump's sons celebrating over the carcasses of dead animals that they shot in Africa? Fortunately, not all sons of American Presidents behave so tastelessly in the wild. As Nathalia Holt argues in her new history, The Beast in the Clouds, Teddy Roosevelt's sons found redemption - and regret - in their (peaceful) 1928 quest for the giant panda in northwestern China. Holt argues that their remarkable expedition marked a pivotal moment in conservation history, transforming scientific thinking from hunting endangered species to protecting them, while simultaneously offering the troubled Roosevelt brothers their greatest achievement and deepest source of remorse. We should all give thanks for Teddy and his boys. Where would the wilderness or endangered species be without them?1. The expedition transformed scientific thinking from hunting to conservation"The story that I'm telling is all about the birth of conservation biology and how scientists changed their minds, how they went from believing that endangered animals needed to be hunted and killed to be studied to instead be described and to be photographed and to given far more protections."2. The Roosevelt sons were escaping personal and professional failures"Both the sons at this point in their lives, they are 41 and 39 years old, they're in a way running away from life... Ted, the eldest son, has just been what his wife called politically obliterated... Kermit Roosevelt, who has struggled. He does not have a successful business. He suffers from alcoholism."3. The panda was genuinely mythical to Western science"The panda was this animal that was mythical. Many people did not believe it even existed in the Western world... Many people believe that the panda would be a cross between a polar bear and a black bear, a very aggressive, dangerous animal."4. The expedition's success led to immediate regret and conservation efforts"When they come back after this trip they immediately regret their actions with the panda... And the Roosevelts are devastated by this because they know that they are the ones that have caused this."5. The expedition pioneered modern species protection policies"The panda is really the first animal to gain these protections. It's a real turning point, because you've had many endangered animals previously, that they're just, they go extinct and nobody makes any laws... But the pandas, because they know how rare they are, they decide to change things."Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. Tonight's Triple Feature digs deep into the emotional terrain of three strikingly different but thematically aligned musicals: O'Dessa (Hulu, 2024), The End (2024), and Dear Evan Hansen (2021). On the surface, these films couldn't be more dissimilar in aesthetic—one is a Southern-fried post-apocalyptic fairy tale, one a sleek black comedy about the apocalypse itself, and the last a grounded teen drama about lies and loneliness. But together, they form a mosaic of Western culture's collective longing for connection, identity, and redemption in a fractured world.Musicals have always been about big emotions. Characters sing when mere speech can't carry the weight of what they're feeling. But in this particular set, the music isn't just emotional punctuation—it's confession. Each film uses the form to excavate shame, grief, isolation, and the human capacity for either healing or self-destruction. These aren't the tap-dancing musicals of old Hollywood or even the bombastic showstoppers of Hamilton. These are musical dramas where the songs feel like psychological x-rays.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

We need songs, we need stories, we need pictures, we need circles, we need Ubuntu to prosper. Traditional Western ways of, colonized ways of working will not save us as a species. They're not going to help us. They're only going to destroy. And the traditionally arts ecosystem exists like that everywhere in the world. Now we know that it's been going on for hundreds of years. We need to destroy that as artists and we need to head to where our roots are, which is in the soil. In this thought-provoking episode of The Andrew Parker Show, Andrew dives deep into a concept largely forgotten in modern warfare and diplomacy: unconditional surrender. Why does the West no longer demand it? What are the consequences of fighting wars to a draw—or worse, to a loss?Andrew explores the moral clarity that once defined Allied victories in World War II and contrasts it with today's muddled response to regimes like Iran's Islamic Republic and its terror proxies. He asks hard questions: Can peace ever be achieved with actors who reject peace altogether? Should Israel settle for anything less than the complete defeat of Hamas following the atrocities of October 7th?Tying in current events, history, and the erosion of shared values, Andrew delivers his grounded opinion on the importance of moral resolve, American leadership, and the enduring bond between the United States and Israel.Topics Covered:The fading doctrine of unconditional surrenderIran's Islamist regime and the danger of appeasementOctober 7 and Israel's moral imperative in GazaAnti-Semitism on the rise in U.S. politics and academiaA rare opportunity for lasting peace in the Middle EastThis episode will challenge your thinking, stir your convictions, and remind you why clear moral lines matter—now more than ever.Listen now and share with those who care about truth, history, and the future of Western civilization.Support the showThe Andrew Parker Show - Politics, Israel & The Law. Special In Wheel Time Replay - What happens when childhood dreams of muscle cars finally come true? Danon Hollinger joins us at the Lone Star Street Rod Association's 50th anniversary celebration to share her journey from Hot Rod magazine fan to proud owner of a gleaming white 1978 Pontiac Trans Am.Unlike most girls growing up, Danon decorated her headboard with car magazine centerfolds instead of pop stars. Her fascinating story takes us from her early fascination with a high school crush's '69 Camaro to discovering something unexpected—a Trans Am with a poignant backstory. The previous owner had lovingly restored it for his son who, after a tragic accident, could never drive it. Now this beautiful machine has found new life with an owner who truly appreciates its power and presence. The conversation takes a few detours through Danon's unique name (from an old Western film), her career as a teacher now enjoying retirement, and the modifications they've made to transform their Trans Am from drag racer to comfortable cruiser. Their upgrade to a Tremec five-speed transmission highlights the perfect balance they've struck between preserving vintage character and enhancing drivability. We also explore the joy of car club culture as Danon shares adventures with her Houston-based Great Classics club—from "margarita meetings" to cross-country trips to shows in Reno and along the Mississippi coast. Her enthusiasm for decorating the Trans Am for Christmas parades and local charity events showcases how classic cars become more than possessions—they're vehicles for building community and creating lasting memories.Later, Jeff presents his Car Culture segment featuring the best US cities for vintage car shows, from Detroit's Woodward Dream Cruise to the elegance of Pebble Beach. Through six deeply-researched episodes, hosts Liv Agar and Spencer Barrows unearth a bizarre coalition of well-meaning clinicians, aristocratic sexologists, militant feminists, right-wing culture warriors, headline-chasing journalists, and conservative politicians. Listen to the first two episodes of Science In Transition and the rest of the six episodes as they are released weekly by subscribing through this link. www.cursedmedia.net/ Subscribers to Cursed Media get access to three new podcast series per year, plus every episode of QAA's existing mini-series (properly organized!) //// Science In Transition Episode 1: Birth of the Clinic As various fields in the medical sciences advance during the interwar period, doctors confront a problem: the treatment of adults who desire to change their sex. While many clinicians propose psychotherapy, a few dotted across the Western world have a different idea: use newly synthesized hormones and surgical procedures to treat them. Liv and Spencer dig into the early decades of the Western gender clinic, its treatment of gender-variant and intersex children, and the crusaders who sought to morally mandate the transsexual out of existence. Shat the Movies: 80's & 90's Best Film Review

This week on Shat The Movies, Gene and Big D rope in a modern Western classic with City Slickers (1991), a film that's equal parts midlife meltdown, male bonding, and calf-birthing madness. Commissioned as a birthday gift from Ken to Eileen, Shat The Movies Episode 450 explores the heartfelt—and sometimes hilarious—journey of three friends finding purpose on a New Mexico cattle drive. Gene shares personal reflections on Americana cosplay, toxic corporate life, and the ever-elusive “one thing,” while Big D opens up about aging, friendship, and why his idea of bliss is scrubbing solar panels at 6 a.m. They dive into masculinity, mental health, Billy Crystal's Mets cap, and the emotional weight behind Jack Palance's Oscar-winning performance. Oh, and yes—there's an in-depth discussion about cow afterbirth, horse anatomy, and “horse beans.” You're welcome. Plot Summary: City Slickers is a 1991 Western comedy directed by Ron Underwood and starring Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern, and Bruno Kirby. It follows Mitch Robbins, a disillusioned 39-year-old New Yorker stuck in a midlife crisis, who embarks on a two-week cattle drive through the Southwest with his best friends Phil and Ed. Expecting a macho escape from their mundane lives, the trio instead face emotional reckoning, cowboy philosophy, and unexpected tenderness—including the birth of a calf Mitch names Norman. Along the way, they're guided by the grizzled trail boss Curly (Jack Palance in an Oscar-winning role), whose “one thing” lesson helps Mitch discover what really matters. Both funny and surprisingly poignant, City Slickers blends comedy with heartfelt introspection about friendship, adulthood, and the pursuit of meaning in middle age. In a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence, we're forgetting the most sophisticated intelligence system ever created—the one inside your own body. While AI processes information, ancient intelligence processes life itself: healing wounds, creating connection, and generating the aliveness that makes existence meaningful. But here's the problem: most of us have been systematically disconnected from this intelligence since childhood, leaving us numb, anxious, and searching for answers outside ourselves.Steven Jaggers is the founder of Somatic Breath Work and a pioneer in the nervous system regulation movement. With over 3,000 practitioners trained across 40+ countries, his work is now accredited by Arizona State University for continuing education credits. A former neuromuscular therapist, Steven has spent years studying the intersection of physical alignment, emotional regulation, and human connection. His unique approach combines Eastern somatic practices with Western neuroscience to help people reclaim their birthright: the ability to feel fully alive in their own bodies. What You'll Discover• Why numbness is actually an active process that's draining your life force – and the counterintuitive truth about why it takes more energy to suppress your feelings than to feel them• The "Attunement Code": How to host another human inside yourself – the meta-skill that data shows is more healing than any technique, tool, or modality• Why your nervous system regulation isn't about staying calm – it's about developing choice, and the surprising reason most people are stuck in the anxiety-depression ping-pong cycle• The parasitic tension stealing your energy – how unconscious muscle contractions are robbing power from your healing, creativity, and aliveness (and how to redirect that energy)• Why healing trauma alone is actually impossible – the science of co-regulation and why your wounds from people can only be healed with people• The "Completion Principle" that changes everything – how somatic breathwork helps your nervous system finish the stress responses that trauma interrupted• How to tell if someone is safe using your nervous system – the congruence test that reveals when someone's words don't match their internal state• The four meta-skills of human intelligence – alignment, attunement, holding space, and range – that no AI can replicate and why mastering them is your greatest advantage in the age of artificial intelligenceYour Invitation to AlivenessYour nervous system holds the key to healing, connection, and true aliveness—if you know how to access it. In this episode, Steven distills years of research and client work into practical insights you can use right away. Whether you're facing anxiety, feeling off, or seeking more from life, this is your roadmap. The world’s militaries are incredibly polluting, collectively accounting for some 5.5% of global emissions. Western economies are now gearing up for a big expansion of their militaries, with members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) agreeing to increase defense spending to 5% of their gross domestic product by 2035. That will commit trillions of dollars more to an enormously carbon intensive industry, unless militaries can find a way to reduce their emissions. This week on Zero, Akshat Rathi asks retired Lieutenant General Richard Nugee, author of the UK Ministry of Defence’s climate change report: Can warfare go green? Kellee and Abby dive into the problems with CEU's across the field as a whole in this episode, but move specifically to discuss the Association of Play Therapy's (APT) 12-hour in-person CEU requirement. Abby and Kellee express their opinion around the incongruence of APT's DEI statement and their in-person CEU requirement. They go on further to explore the field's origins of white supremacy, ableism, and problematic Western measures of learning, and the need for more expansive ways to deepen our work as therapists. They emphasize the need for consultation and mentoring above webinars. Kellee and Abby hold many privileges, some of which include being two abled bodied pregnant women with the financial means to travel for CEU's. Topics Touched on:EMDRIA- https://www.emdria.org/APT- https://www.a4pt.org/default.aspx Follow us: https://www.instagram.com/the_whole_therapist/https://www.facebook.com/TWTPodcasters/ Visit our website:https://wholetherapistinstitute.com Email us: wholetherapistinstitute@gmail.com

What happens when Hollywood egos, sabotage campaigns, and directorial chaos collide in the Arizona desert? Tombstone is a film that survived one of the most tumultuous productions in Western movie history to become a beloved cult classic. You think the gunfight at the O.K. Corral was dramatic? That's nothing compared to Kevin Costner's alleged studio sabotage campaign, the director who got fired just one month into filming, and how Kurt Russell allegedly secretly took over directing duties while refusing to put his name on the film. A bitter rivalry with Costner's competing Wyatt Earp nearly killed Tombstone before it reached cinemas, and Val Kilmer's career-defining performance as Doc Holliday only really happened because of studio interference, which came from Costner's attempt to derail the production. From the scorching Arizona heat, to the replacement director brought in with just three days of preparation; a director who made the cinematographer quit three times, as well as various other crew members, Tombstone is a masterclass in how great movies can emerge from absolute production disasters. It's a tale of Hollywood hardball, Western justice, and that sometimes your worst enemy can accidentally become your greatest asset.I would love to hear your thoughts on Tombstone (1993) !Verbal Diorama is now an award-winning podcast! David Robertson is a rare conductor who unites avant-garde complexity with accessibility. After serving as music director of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Pierre Boulez's storied contemporary-music ensemble, he went on to rejuvenate the St. Louis Symphony. Robertson combines a fearless approach to challenging scores with a deep empathy for audiences. Tyler and David explore Pierre Boulez's centenary and the emotional depths beneath his reputation for severity, whether Boulez is better understood as a surrealist or a serialist composer, the influence of non-Western music like gamelan on Boulez's compositions, the challenge of memorizing contemporary scores, whether Boulez's music still sounds contemporary after decades, where skeptics should start with Boulez, how conductors connect with players during a performance, the management lessons of conducting, which orchestra sections posed Robertson the greatest challenges, how he and other conductors achieve clarity of sound, what conductors should read beyond music books, what Robertson enjoys in popular music, how national audiences differ from others, how Robertson first discovered classical music, why he insists on conducting the 1911 version of Stravinsky's Petrushka rather than the 1947 revision, and more.
