What if the thing holding you back isn't effort, talent, or discipline, but what's happening inside your mind and body? In this episode of The Greatness Machine, Darius Mirshahzadeh sits down with high-performance coach and author Brandon Epstein to unpack the hidden inner work behind elite performance. Brandon shares his journey from riding the bench as a college football player to mastering meditation, breathwork, and mental training that transformed his results and his life. Born with strabismus and severe vision issues, Ainhoa's early healing experience became foundational to her identity and later research. Her work highlights how stress, inflammation, and unresolved emotional tension can influence conditions such as myopia, astigmatism, and double vision. The conversation raises important questions about why glasses are often prescribed without investigating root causes like sinus pressure or chronic stress.Vision challenges can reveal far more than genetics or aging ever could. Perception reflects more than optics; it mirrors belief, physiology, and lived experience. If you're interested in trauma and eyesight, vision and stress, or improving eye health naturally, this perspective will shift how you understand sight itself. You'll Learn:[00:00] Introduction[04:54] Why Ainhoa threw her first prescription in the trash, and what happened afterwards[31:27] WHO data, COVID's catastrophic impact, and why 2030 projections are alarming[53:36] What the numbers actually show from the ClearSight method[01:07:21] The cases that keep proving what's actually possible with natural vision improvement[01:18:29] How screens damage eyesight beyond the blue light[01:47:35] How the sympathetic nervous system creates tunnel vision, and why presence reverses it[01:56:12] Multiple personality research, the three-hug story, and the emotional roots of specific eye conditions[02:10:53] What astigmatism, glaucoma, myopia, presbyopia, and retinal detachment each reveal about your inner life[02:36:59] What your specific symptom reveals about key relationships in your life [02:45:54] Nutrition, detox, and the liver-eye connectionResources Mentioned:Live to 100 | WebsiteA New World of Seeing by Natural Vision Educators and Dr. Ainhoa de Federico | BookDaylight Tablet | WebsiteThe Inner Cause by Martin Brofman | WebsiteAnything Can Be Healed by Martin Brofman | WebsiteImprove Your Vision by Martin Brofman | WebsiteRay | NetflixFind more from Ainhoa:ClearSight Method | WebsiteClearSight Method | InstagramClearSight Method | FacebookFind more from Alec:Alec Zeck | InstagramAlec Zeck | XThe Way Forward | InstagramThe Way Forward is Sponsored By:Paleovalley is 100% Grass-Fed Bone Broth Protein is a nutrient-dense, easy-to-digest source of collagen and essential amino acids. If you're curious about detox, energy healing, or quantum-based wellness—but immediately skeptical when someone says “just carry a bottle”—you're not alone. This episode sits squarely in that tension: genuine curiosity vs. rational resistance. And instead of asking you to believe anything, it asks a better question: what framework are these claims actually operating within?  Episode Overview Recorded live at SpiritFest USA in Virginia Beach, this conversation features Dr. Sue Whitaker of Broad Spectrum Detox, who explains her individualized detox approach rooted in frequency, quantum entanglement, and non-invasive scanning technology. Will and Karen explore how her system is described to work—from identifying environmental toxins to remotely “programming” a personalized bottle using frequency data—while maintaining clear boundaries around diagnosis, cure claims, and medical authority. The result is a grounded conversation that lets listeners evaluate the ideas without pressure to accept them.  Key Insights & TakeawaysDetox as a framing, not a miracle Dr. Whitaker positions detoxification as foundational—suggesting that when environmental toxins are addressed, other issues may improve indirectly, rather than claiming a single solution cures everything.  Frequency-based wellness explained (not proven) The system described uses frequencies associated with supplements, herbs, and nutrients, embedded into a physical object via scanning and programming—an idea rooted in metaphysics and quantum theory rather than conventional medicine.  Quantum entanglement as a working metaphor “Entanglement” is used here to explain how individualized bottles are said to remain linked to a specific person without interference from others—an interpretive application of a physics concept, not a laboratory claim.  Clear boundaries around diagnosis Dr. Whitaker repeatedly emphasizes that her work does not diagnose or medically cure conditions, positioning it instead within modern spirituality and complementary wellness conversations.  Why people find this compelling For many, the appeal lies less in scientific validation and more in simplicity, non-invasiveness, and the broader intuition that the body has innate self-regulating capacity. Why This Conversation Is Different This episode avoids the usual spiritual clichés by:Not demanding belief or complianceExplicitly acknowledging skepticismSeparating personal experience from universal truthRefraining from “instant healing” promises or spiritual bypassingInstead of selling certainty, it invites examination—allowing listeners to decide what feels plausible, symbolic, or simply not for them.  Listener Reassurance Questioning does not make you closed-minded. Curiosity does not make you gullible. This conversation models what modern spirituality can look like when it coexists with discernment, humor, and healthy doubt—especially in discussions around energy healing, metaphysics, and consciousness.Call to Action Listen with your curiosity turned up and your critical thinking intact. If this episode sparks questions—about detox, intuition, frequency, or how we evaluate unconventional wellness claims—join the conversation and share what resonated… or what didn't. That tension is where the real exploration begins. The Skeptic Metaphysicians is a pragmatic spirituality podcast for curious minds exploring the unknown without abandoning critical thinking. Each episode breaks down metaphysics explained through grounded conversation, examining hidden truths behind spiritual awakening, consciousness expansion, and expanded consciousness. We explore intuition, mediumship, spirit guides, and the mechanics of healing and personal transformation—bridging skeptical inquiry with meaningful spiritual experience. If you're navigating your own awakening or questioning reality while staying intellectually honest, this podcast is for seekers and skeptics alike.Subscribe, Rate & Review! If you found this episode enlightening, mind-expanding, or even just thought-provoking (see what we did there?), please take a moment to rate and review us. In this episode, we explore a powerful and often misunderstood truth about pain. Pain is not simply a muscle or tissue problem. It is a brain based experience.Modern pain science shows us that the brain plays a central role in how pain is created, interpreted, and maintained. While muscles may feel tight, weak, or painful, they are often responding to messages coming from the nervous system rather than being the root cause. You will learn how protective patterns develop in the brain through stress, injury, trauma, repetitive movement, or emotional load. Over time, these patterns can keep muscles in a constant state of contraction, leading to ongoing discomfort, stiffness, and pain even when there is no longer tissue damage. This is where clinical somatic movement becomes so effective.Clinical somatic movement works directly with the brain through slow, mindful, intentional movement. Instead of forcing muscles to stretch or strengthen, this approach helps the brain update outdated protective signals. Through processes such as pandiculation, the nervous system can relearn how to fully release muscle contraction, restore movement efficiency, and reduce pain at its source. In this episode, you will discover:• Why pain is an output of the brain, not just a symptom of the body• How chronic muscle tension is often a learned neurological pattern• Why stretching alone rarely creates lasting relief• How clinical somatic movement retrains the brain to reduce pain naturally• What it means to work with your nervous system rather than against itIf you are navigating midlife changes, persistent pain, or a sense that your body no longer responds the way it used to, this conversation will resonate deeply.Go to: https://TotalSomatics.com/Midlife and join me & other guest speakers to this FREE Online EventI would love you to join me for my upcoming FREE ONLINE event taking place over the weekend of 21st and 22nd February.Navigating Midlife is a supportive, science-informed experience designed to help you understand your body, brain, and nervous system during this important stage of life.

Summary In this episode, Ali Damron discusses the challenges many face in their healing journeys, particularly when they feel they are doing everything right but still not seeing results. She emphasizes the importance of understanding the mind-body connection, the dangers of over-optimization, and how tracking health metrics can lead to hypervigilance. Ali encourages listeners to trust their bodies and find balance in their health practices, while also addressing the role of uncertainty in healing. Takeaways Many patients do more than they need to for healing. The brain's perception of danger affects bodily functions. Over-optimization can lead to increased stress and symptoms. Tracking health metrics can shift from helpful to harmful. Hypervigilance can create a cycle of anxiety and symptoms. The body is capable of healing without constant intervention. Content note: This episode includes candid discussion of sexuality, trauma, and intimate bodily experiences.SYNOPSIS: In this rich and deeply human - and live event – conversation, Ali Mezey is joined by somatic sex educator and bodyworker Rahi Chun for an unscripted exploration of sexuality, trauma, pleasure, and the innate intelligence of the body. Together, they challenge symptom-focused approaches to sexual “dysfunction” and invite a more holistic understanding of libido, arousal, orgasm, and genital response as meaningful expressions of lived experience, safety, and relational history.Drawing from decades of professional and personal work, Ali and Rahi explore how early touch, attachment, trauma, shame, and cultural conditioning shape our sexual bodies – often long before sexuality itself is consciously understood. They discuss erectile challenges, orgasmic blocks, genital guarding, compulsive desire, pleasure ceilings, and the deep nervous-system need for safety that underlies sexual expression across all genders.Through stories, client examples, and embodied inquiry, the episode illuminates how patterns of arousal and shutdown are not failures, but adaptive strategies – and how making them conscious can open new pathways for choice, intimacy, and authentic pleasure. This conversation is a powerful invitation to move beyond performance, diagnosis, and shame, and toward a sexuality rooted in presence, agency, and embodied authenticity. In wanting to keep their anonymity, several attendees submitted questions and comments via chat.Rahi on my podcast: The Disarmed Body: Sexual De-Armoring with Sexological Bodyworker, Rahi ChunAli on Rahi's podcast: Your "Sex Problem" Isn't Sexual: It's Relational Geometry with Ali MezeyFOR MORE ALI MEZEY:ALI - WebsiteALI - LinkTreeTo read more about the next Personal Geometry® Foundations training FOR MORE RAHI CHUNBIO: Rahi combines his training and experience as a CA state-certified Somatic Sex Educator and Sexological Bodyworker, Certified TRE Provider, NeuroAffective Touch Practitioner, Life Coach with an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology, with certifications in Family Constellations Therapy, DeArmouring Arts, Chi Nei Tsang & Karsai Nei Tsang, and STREAM (Scar Tissue Remediation and Management) in his facilitation of Somatic Sexual Wholeness.  His expertise is in the art of Genital Dearmouring having trained practitioners worldwide.  Hundreds have also graduated from his signature online course, "The 3 Keys to Genital Dearmouring" or via his live trainings and workshops.  SITE:  https://somaticsexualwholeness.com/. It can have physical, psychological, relational, or somatic contributors and is distinct from general low libido.Genital De-Armoring – A somatic concept referring to the process of releasing muscular and nervous system defensesin the pelvic and genital regions that have developed in response to trauma, fear, or shut-down responses. It supports increased sensation, relaxation, and fuller access to pleasure and bodily presence.“La Petite Mort” – A French expression meaning “the little death,” traditionally used metaphorically to describe the sensations of release, surrender, and altered consciousness that can accompany orgasm. The phrase highlights the powerful emotional and physical release inherent in sexual climax.Ellen Heed: Embodied Autonomy; Scar Tissue Remediation expert“Things that fire together wire together” – A popular paraphrase of the principle from neuroscience and psychology often attributed to Hebbian learning, meaning that neurons that activate together strengthen their connections, forming lasting patterns in the brain and nervous system. It's widely used to explain how habitual patterns (emotional, cognitive, somatic) become embedded over time.Ivan Pavlov & the Dog Experiments – Ivan Pavlov was a Russian physiologist best known for discovering classical conditioning through his experiments with dogs. He observed that dogs would begin to salivate not only when food was presented, but also in response to neutral stimuli (like a bell) once those stimuli were repeatedly paired with food. This demonstrated how the nervous system learns through association—how experiences that occur together become linked. Pavlov's work laid the foundation for understanding how emotional, behavioral, and somatic patterns are formed, and why repeated pairings of sensation, emotion, and meaning can shape lifelong responses in the body.

Welcome to Classic Skeptic Metaphysicians! We're re-releasing some of our back catalog so that these gems can be re-discovered!This week: Consciousness Expansion & Heart Opening with Cacao Plant MedicineWhat if one of the most powerful tools for spiritual awakening and consciousness expansion has been hiding in plain sight—inside something you've already consumed most of your life? In this episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, Will and Karen sit down with cacao ceremonialist and spiritual teacher Judy Machado to explore the ancient, heart-opening intelligence of ceremonial cacao—a plant medicine used for thousands of years to support spiritual growth, emotional healing, and expanded awareness. Unlike psychedelics often associated with modern plant medicine conversations, cacao offers a gentle, grounded pathway into higher consciousness. Judy explains how cacao works with the heart rather than overriding the mind—helping release emotional blockages, soften limiting beliefs, and reconnect us with our soul purpose through presence, intention, and ritual. Together, they explore:How cacao functions as a non-psychedelic plant medicine for awakening and emotional clarityThe difference between ceremonial cacao and commercial chocolate (and why intention matters)Why cacao is often called a “heart opener” rather than a hallucinogenHow ritual and reverence activate cacao's energy healing propertiesThe role cacao can play in intuition development, creativity, and manifestationWhy cacao ceremonies are re-emerging in modern spirituality—and what to look for ethicallyHow working with plant intelligence mirrors larger truths about consciousness, unity, and spiritual remembranceThis conversation also touches on broader themes of modern spirituality, free will, and the idea that spiritual teachers—whether human or plant-based—don't give us answers… they help us remember what we already are. If you're curious about plant medicine but hesitant about altered states… If you're navigating your own spiritual awakening and looking for a grounded entry point… Or if you're seeking a heart-centered practice that supports awareness without leaving your body… This episode may quietly change how you think about chocolate forever.

This episode is brought to you by Joi & Blokes, Fatty15, and Strong Coffee Company. In this powerful conversation, Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, MD joins Ever Forward Radio to explore why true healing goes far beyond food, supplements, and exercise—and into the nervous system, emotional health, and human connection. Drawing from his new book Plant Powered Plus, Will explains how inflammation is driven by an inseparable triad of gut microbiome imbalance, immune dysfunction, and a compromised gut barrier, while also revealing how chronic stress, unresolved trauma, loneliness, and circadian disruption can prevent the body from ever feeling safe enough to heal. This episode clearly explains the gut–brain–immune axis, the role of parasympathetic "safety" states, why PTSD and trauma leave measurable signatures in the gut, and how practices like sunlight exposure, breathwork, meaningful relationships, and spiritual purpose are not "woo"—but biology.  Follow Will @theguthealthmd Follow Chase @chase_chewning ----- 00:00 – Introduction: Why You're Not Healing (It's Not Just Food) 01:30 – Inflammation, Strength & the Core Thesis of Plant Powered Plus 02:25 – 70% of the Immune System Lives in the Gut 03:40 – The Inflammation Trifecta: Dysbiosis, Gut Barrier & Immunity 05:10 – How Fast the Gut Microbiome and Gut Lining Can Heal 06:00 – 450,000 New Gut Cells Every Second 09:00 – Why the Body Wants to Heal (If We Let It) 10:00 – Morning Sunlight, Circadian Rhythm & Energy 11:30 – Gut Microbes Follow a 24-Hour Schedule 12:45 – Why the Immune System Is Active at Night 14:00 – Serotonin, Melatonin & Gut Repair 16:00 – Cortisol: When Stress Helps vs. Harms 18:30 – The Sympathetic Nervous System & "Berserker Mode 21:45 – How Chronic Stress Damages the Gut Barrier 24:00 – Trauma, PTSD & Inflammatory Disease 26:00 – Why You Can't Out-Diet Trauma 29:00 – Science, Pattern Recognition & the Mind–Body Connection 32:00 – Parasympathetic Healing: Safety, Rest & Digestion 34:00 – Breathwork, Meditation & Nervous System Regulation 36:00 – Human Connection as Medicine 38:30 – Loneliness, Mortality & Modern Society 43:00 – Why Meaningful Relationships Are Essential for Health 46:00 – Can You Be Healthy Without Deep Connection? 49:00 – Measuring Stress: HRV, Wearables & Inflammation 55:30 – Trauma, PTSD & the Gut Microbiome 58:00 – Healing Trauma and Healing the Gut Together 1:03:30 – Dr. Bulsiewicz's Personal Healing Story 1:09:30 – Reconciliation, Grief & Spiritual Healing 1:18:00 – Purpose, Faith & the Limits of Science 1:22:00 – Ever Forward ----- Episode resources: Get 50% off any diagnostic labs with code CHASE at https://www.JoiAndBlokes.com/chase Get an additional 15% off the 90-day starter kit of C15:0 essential fatty acids https://www.Fatty15.com/everforward Save 15% on organic coffee and lattes with code CHASE at https://www.StrongCoffeeCompany.com Watch and subscribe on YouTube Get Will's new book, Plant Powered PLUS Learn more at TheGutHealthMD.com
