Talking sin and censorship with Joe as we cover 1971's The Devils. It's one of the most controversial and most censored movies in the Western world, but it's also thematically very important (and relevant). We love this movie for its set design, its performances, its writing, its themes, and, of course, its reputation. Tangents include: Space Jam 2, Nine Inch Nails, Jodie's awesome Monopoly and video game save point questions, things we're looking forward to, places we'd move if language wasn't a barrier, and our midlife crises

Expansive dub vibrations from the On-U Sound maestro. Adrian Sherwood has spent nearly five decades reshaping how dub is heard and felt. From absorbing reggae and funk as a teenager at the Newlands Club in High Wycombe to cofounding On-U Sound in 1979, he's been a restless force in British sound system culture. His debut production, Dub From Creation, signalled his instinct to twist the Jamaican form into bold, experimental directions. That spirit defined On-U Sound, where reggae collided with post-punk, industrial and synth pop to forge a catalogue still unlike anything else. Sherwood became a crucial bridge, producing for legends like Prince Far I, Bim Sherman and Lee “Scratch” Perry, while also working with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Sinéad O'Connor. His RA Mix (yes, you read that right) arrives at a moment of renewal—RA.1001 is the first in a new era for the series. (After 1,000 editions of the RA Podcast, we're updating the name to better reflect what it's become.) Recorded at his Ramsgate studio, the 76-minute mix folds in cuts from The Collapse Of Everything alongside material from across the On-U Sound universe, plus collaborations with Panda Bear, Sonic Boom, Coldcut and Spoon. It's Sherwood doing what he's always done: stretching dub into endless new shapes. Find the interview and tracklist at ra.co/podcast/1019

Buckle up, Cubs and Cardinals fans: this week’s episode is super-sized! The Team starts with Cubs fans’ full-blown panic (and blame-casting) over Kyle Tucker’s injury drama. Elliott and Pete take solace in Chicago’s five-game series win over the Brewers, which sparks just enough hope to be dangerous. Meanwhile, the Cardinals continue their 2025 masterclass in how not to run a baseball organization, before the guys pivot to MLB’s future expansion and the inevitable realignment that follows. From there, it’s football and fútbol: the Bears’ opening drive against Buffalo gets some love, and Ron’s Soccer Minute goes way over time as Pete joins in to dissect Newcastle’s scoreless draw with Aston Villa and St. Louis City’s latest stumble against the Fire. Finally, the show closes with a pop culture double feature: Elliott makes amends for skipping Tuesday’s show with a Music Minute review of the Nine Inch Nails concert, and Pete delivers his own Movie Minute after a personal hot streak at the theaters. Actress Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with clothier American Eagle to advertise their line of jeans. In the year 2025, people will get upset over anything, and to the surprise of nobody this new campaign is no exception. To the surprise of Becky, however, is Mike and Jack's agreement that Sydney Sweeney isn't the ultimate, jaw-dropping smoke show that everybody else makes her out to be. Do you agree? Music Seeds: The Music That Made Us

Episode 84 tells the story of my youth with Alternative Music, along with my friends who sit in with me today, Eric Hollis and Doug Lund.We talk about how a little show in MTV's heyday, "120 Minutes", changed our outlook on the music we love. Being bullied for the things we were into, just to have it turned around and be the things that were 'cool'. How some bands started Alternative and became very popular. The women's movement in music, and how even more important it is today. Bands that stepped away, without a farewell tour. In Episode #1,026 of the Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards kicks off with technical glitches, sharing his early-morning foot pain—possibly gout or an injury from weekend activities—while soldiering through for two hours of raw commentary. The episode pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who reportedly passed at 76. Clay recounts the moment he learned of Ozzy's death while at lunch, sparking memories of the rock icon's wild life: snorting ants on tour with Mötley Crüe, biting bat heads, and Jackson concerts in '84 and '96. He praises Ozzy's enduring fame, from Black Sabbath to Ozzfest, crediting manager Sharon Osbourne's genius in reviving his career and launching The Osbournes TV show, introducing him to new generations. Shifting to Willie Nelson, Clay admires the 91-year-old's ongoing tours, adapting songs with lower keys for authenticity. He suggests studying Willie's body post-mortem to explore long-term marijuana benefits, contrasting it with Johnny Cash's late-career Rick Rubin collaborations, like reinterpreting Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt." Local crime dominates: A chaotic interstate shooting on I-220 at Medgar Evers Blvd. left a 31-year-old man shot multiple times, with vehicles overturned—likened to Grand Theft Auto. Clay critiques Jackson's recurring violence, possibly road rage or gang-related, noting it rarely occurs elsewhere in the tri-county area, citing past incidents like a DJ's fatal shooting. In Canton, a potential hate crime unfolds: 33-year-old James Ross allegedly shot 47-year-old Troy Waldrop in the face at Camden Park Apartments over jealousy involving Ross's ex-girlfriend (Waldrop's niece). Clay attributes it to unchecked emotions, calling it the city's third murder, urging justice. Clay analyzes viral body cam footage from a Jacksonville, FL, traffic stop: A non-compliant driver, pulled for no lights and no seatbelt, locks himself in, demands a supervisor, and resists—leading to a window break, punch, and arrest for resistance and marijuana possession. He defends police, blaming entitlement and non-compliance, dubbing body cams "BLM's kryptonite." The FAFO (F***ed Around and Found Out) championship goes to 49-year-old DeShane Hamilton Collier of Jackson, arrested for public intoxication at a Pearl gas station. A pat-down revealed a Glock; as a felon with prior aggravated assaults, he pled guilty to firearm possession, earning 10 years without parole. Listener interactions include texts on traffic reports, a call from Kentucky's Mandy discussing positive police encounters and "Black fatigue" from excusing bad behavior with history. Clay emphasizes earned stereotypes, truth over agendas, and evolving the show with segments like local roundups. Wrapping up, Clay reflects on the show's growth, listener support, and balancing content with family time.

It's been a busy stretch across both coasts, and we're catching up on two weeks of Walt Disney World updates in one packed episode. The biggest headline? Magic of Disney Animation returns to Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2026! Disney has officially announced plans for a new version of the classic attraction, and concept art has already surfaced. We'll be watching this one closely. [caption id="attachment_74591" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] Meanwhile, Walt Disney World has seen a flurry of updates. After surprise previews on July 18 and 19, the Disney Starlight Parade officially debuted at Magic Kingdom, bringing dazzling new floats and an all-new original character, Whimsy, to Main Street, U.S.A. Greg was there for the early shows, and his full breakdown is in this week's video. Test Track Reopens and BDX Droids Debut Test Track is back! The attraction officially reopened to all guests, boasting updated visuals and effects while keeping its familiar design-your-car feature. Over at Hollywood Studios, BDX Box Droids made another appearance, although some performances were delayed due to Florida's summer storms. Speaking of Hollywood Studios, more construction walls are now visible. Toy Story Land now features new construction walls near the restrooms—possibly signaling upcoming infrastructure work. Disneyland Turns 70 with Celebrations on Both Coasts Disneyland celebrated its 70th anniversary on July 17 with a full day of festivities. One of the highlights? A tribute to the Sherman Brothers playing inside Main Street Cinema. Even more magical: the official Disneyland 70th balloon completed its coast-to-coast flight, landing in California just in time for the anniversary.  Walt Disney: A Magical Life Opens. To mark the occasion, Disney+ released 17 new point-of-view ride-throughs, offering immersive experiences of classic Disneyland attractions in stunning 4 K resolution. It's a subtle but strong message: Disney+ is becoming the go-to source for park content. Disney+ Highlights and Rapid Fire News In addition to the Disneyland POV collection, Disney+ dropped: Zombies 4 SHARKFEST content for Shark Week A new daily news program: What You Need to Know The return of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with brand-new episodes On the awards front, The Walt Disney Company earned 137 Emmy nominations, a huge haul across streaming and broadcast platforms. Foodies will appreciate the peach-flavored Dole Whip, which appeared on Dole Whip Day (July 17) at Disneyland. Over at Disney's BoardWalk, Greg found a unique banana Nutella dog that might just be the most unusual snack this month. Marvel and More: Trailers, Concerts, and Popcorn Buckets A double dose of excitement with the release of the TRON: Ares trailer, complete with a new Nine Inch Nails soundtrack single, and the full trailer for Pixar's Hoppers ahead of its 2026 debut. The Descendants and Zombies: Worlds Collide concert tour kicked off in San Diego, featuring stars from both franchises. And in popcorn bucket news, Greg tracked down new offerings in the parks, and the biggest popcorn bucket ever! Finally, the Fantastic Four make their big-screen return this weekend.
