Stephen Gibb – “Kill the Robot” Ignites with New Single as Rock Veteran Steps into the SpotlightStephen Gibb, the name that might first catch your ear as the son of Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb, has long carved out his own raw, relentless path in the world of heavy music. Now, he's stepping further into his own spotlight with the new single from his band Kill the Robot, delivering a blend of molten riffs, industrial aggression, and haunting lyrical intensity that refuses to be ignored.A Career Forged in Metal and GritStephen's career spans decades of evolution and hard-hitting contributions to the metal and rock world. Cutting his teeth in the Miami music scene, he played in various local bands before making a global mark with acts like Saigon Kick and the doom-laden outfit Crowbar, where he laid down guitar work that fused melody with muscle. He's perhaps most well known for his time with Black Label Society, playing alongside Zakk Wylde and touring extensively as part of the band's fearsome live presence. His tone was unmistakable—thick, swampy, and emotionally charged, equally capable of violence and vulnerability.Later, Stephen took a significant role in Kingdom of Sorrow, the side project of Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), again contributing razor-sharp guitars and deep, introspective songwriting.Kill the Robot – A New ChapterWith Kill the Robot, Stephen is no longer just the hired gun—he's front and center, commanding a project that reflects his own vision. Their latest single [insert title here if known] is a slab of dark modern metal with electronic edges, blending industrial influences with classic metal guitar tone and apocalyptic vocals. It's a sonic punch that feels equal parts Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, and something uniquely Gibb. This isn't music for background noise—it's a sonic purge, a wake-up call in a world numb with repetition.Legacy Meets FutureDespite his musical pedigree, Stephen Gibb has always done it the hard way—earning his place through relentless touring, collaboration, and dedication to craft. “Kill the Robot” isn't just a new band—it's a declaration: that experience, struggle, and passion still matter in a music industry dominated by trends.Listen, Watch, and Follow Kill the Robot:

Es una álbum oscuro que redefinió los límites del rock alternativo.

Send us a textChristian, the lead singer and bassist for The Ritualists, stops by the show to discuss bass playing, the new album Too Pure to Cure, cooking, history, and more.*****NYC-based The Ritualists' upcoming album, Too Pure To Cure (out now) is a trip. Produced and mixed by GRAMMY-winner Mario J McNulty (David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Prince), the album is packed with the band's signature mix of goth, glam, and modern rock, all wrapped up in their larger-than-life energy.Following their darkly danceable single "You Know Better", the band has recently released "The Wake" —a soaring, synth-heavy anthem inspired by classic ‘80s dark fantasy films (The NeverEnding Story, anyone?) and the shimmering hooks of the New Romantic era. Frontman Christian Dryden describes it as a reflection on childhood, resilience, and the ability to pull oneself out of tough situations. And it's already earned praise from The NeverEnding Story theme song's own (and fellow Reybee client) Limahl, who says:"I really like this—a little surreal, very melodic and with a video that has a classic early '80s vibe. The chorus asks, ‘Whoever wakes up?' — well, I just did, to The Ritualists!" Tracks on the album range from "King of Air," a surrealist reflection on feeling misunderstood, to "Every Thread," which juxtaposes cosmic insignificance with the universal pangs of love and envy. And of course, there's the title track, "Too Pure to Cure," which lead vocalist/songwriter Christian Dryden describes as less of a protest and more of a shoulder shrug—it's a declaration of knowing who you are and refusing to be “cured” of it. The Ritualists are Christian Dryden (vocals, bass), Jeffrey Andrew (keyboards), David Andreana (guitars), and Eric Kuby (drums). Too Pure To Cure is available on all streaming platforms today. *****If you would like to contact the show about being a guest, please email us at Dauna@bettertopodcast.comUpcoming guests can be found: https://dmneedom.com/upcoming-guest Follow us on Social MediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomIntro and Outro music compliments of Fast Suzi©2025 Better To...Podcast with D. If that sounds like a blast, you're in good company with the millions of people who bought Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral in 1994. It's one of the bleakest, most pitch-dark albums to ever achieve massive commercial success, and it still sounds great in 2025, owing to the coherence of Trent Reznor's sonic vision and ingenious production by Flood. Reznor has gone on to become an Oscar-winning soundtrack composer in the decades since this album, but it still stands as one of his signature achievements, and Phil has invited Rich and Mike along to talk about an album that, from top to bottom, sets out to make you hurt. Many charities learn a great deal about community support, new tools, partnerships and so much more. Sharing that learning is not always the top priority of any one group, but organizations like Next in Nonprofits get to learn from the stories and missions of many different groups. KD leads the team through a conversation about what brings people to nonprofit missions, how knowledge sharing - especially in a team - can create better outcomes, and contributes to a framework of abundance over scarcity. Town Hall Seattle Arts & Culture Series

These days, large-scale high-production music festivals take over major cities and regularly attract crowds of every genre — including the current version of Lollapalooza that draws a casual 400,000 people to its resident Chicago stomping grounds. But kick it back a few decades and this kind of maximalist mega-show wasn't quite the norm it is now, especially for musical tastes outside of the mainstream. In their second collaborative book, Lollapalooza: The Uncensored Story of Alternative Rock's Wildest Festival, music journalists Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour flash back to when the Lollapalooza we know now was a new tour concept bringing 1990s alternative artists and ideas center stage. Lollapalooza first transports readers back to the festival's origins – a 20+ city summer sprawl highlighting alternative music, art, and counterculture, conceived by Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band Jane's Addiction. From 1991-1997, this breakthrough tour shifted the scope of live music experiences and helped forge a new path for the decade's subcultures to reach the masses and the media. Bienstock and Beaujour have compiled hundreds of new interviews to dig into the dirt of how the historic festival came into being at every level – from headlining artists and record label execs to tour organizers and promoters to freakshow performers, stage crews, and roadies. Lollapalooza is packed with gritty details of an era of shows that defied genres and drew crowds across style lines. Music, art, and politics drawing from alt-rock, goth, industrial, metal, punk, hip-hop, EDM, and avant-garde explorations – all coming together under one big tent. Featuring original interviews with iconic artists like Green Day, Patti Smith, Rage Against the Machine, Ice-T, Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Metallica, and many more, this collection amplifies voices that helped shape generations of contemporary thinkers, creative activists, and live music audiences. Journeying through 90s nostalgia, uncensored first-hand accounts, and the long-term reverberations of a groundbreaking tour, Bienstock and Beaujour document a high-impact chapter of modern American music. A VIP pass to the action onstage and backstage, on the road and behind the scenes – Lollapalooza details the cultural shift of the alternative rock revolution and the echoes still heard through concert crowds today. Richard Bienstock is a journalist, musician, and author whose work has been featured in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Spin. He is the executive editor of Guitar Aficionado magazine and former senior editor of Guitar World and has authored and co-authored books including Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck and Slash: An Intimate Portrait.  Tom Beaujour is a journalist, music producer, and engineer who has been featured in television shows like Orange is the New Black, A Handmaid's Tale, and Criminal Minds. He is a co-founder and former editor-in-chief of Revolver and has contributed to Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Blender, and Billboard. But it was conceived as a farewell tour for the band Jane's Addiction, kicking off with a series of chaotic performances across the United States in the summer of 1991. Lollapalooza, a new oral history by Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour, documents the wild early days of the festival through interviews with bands like Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails and Green Day. Stuck In The Middle - A Gen X Podcast

I hate rain, Slackers,This week, we're digging into ten rainy day songs that capture the gray and the heavy. Spanning the late '70s to the late '90s, the list pulls from dark corners and quiet moments—think industrial beats, NY alt metal, acoustic ballads, and lyrics that can get pretty dreary. It's the kind of music that fits a slow drizzle or a full downpour, perfect for staring out a window, preferably with a hot cup of coffee. Mildly depressing? Maybe. Carthartic? Also, maybe. But probably.Got a rainy day song I missed? Hit us up on X, Instagram, and YouTube @stuckpodx or head on over to the The Stuck in the Middle Podcast page on Facebook. In LOLLAPALOOZA: The Uncensored Story of Alternative Rock's Wildest Festival (St. Martin's Press; March 25, 2025; $32.00 Hardcover) New York Times bestselling authors Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour tell the no-holds-barred history of the iconic music festival. Through hundreds of new interviews with artists, tour founders, festival organizers, promoters, publicists, sideshow freaks, stage crews, record label execs, reporters, roadies and more, LOLLAPALOOZA chronicles the tour's pioneering 1991-1997 run, and, in the process, alternative rock's rise - as well as the reverberations that led to a massive shift in the music industry and the culture at large. LOLLAPALOOZA features original interviews with some of the biggest names in music, including Perry Farrell and Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Sonic Youth, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Ice-T, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Patti Smith, Alice in Chains, Metallica and many more. Conceived by Farrell as a farewell tour for Jane's Addiction, Lollapalooza's inaugural outing across the U.S. in the summer of 1991 helped to coalesce an ideology and aesthetic that not only washed over popular music but seeped into fashion, film, television, literature, food, politics and more. Throughout the decade, Lollapalooza offered a vast and diverse ensemble of bands, breaking barriers of genre and uniting alternative rock, heavy metal, punk, hip-hop, industrial, goth, avant-garde, spoken word, electronic dance music and other styles under one big tent, and setting the template for the modern American music festival and the scores of other contemporary destination fests that are now an integral part of how audiences experience live music. Unorthodox not just in music, Lollapalooza also spotlighted visual arts, nonprofit organizations, political outfits and even the occasional freak show, offering a tantalizing cocktail of culture, art, and activism that, taken together, defined the alternative mindset that dominated the 1990s. Echoes of its impact reverberate strongly today - cemented by annual sell-outs at destination events all over the world, an estimation of 400,000 attendees at the flagship Chicago fest each summer, and a spot among the world's largest and longest-running music festivals. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

This week we're talking about probably the most consequential album in Nine Inch Nails' history. The Downward Spiral was a monumental success, widely considered to be a masterpiece. The Fragile was largely panned as being too bloated and self-indulgent (even if it is their best album imo). After that Trent Reznor took a full 6 years to produce an album and it needed to be a hit. With Teeth is a sharp, focused, lean product compared to The Fragile, and because of that was a massive success spawning many of their biggest hits. If you're around our age and just a casual listener, most of the NIN songs you know are probably from this album. In the news corner this week we cover a viral tiktok of some white kids being obnoxious during a rap concert. This mysterious nature and captivating melodies had intrigued listeners, with their single 11/8 amassing over 400,000 streams. The song was also placed within the hit television series, Ozark, creating further interest in the band. The group recently released a remix package of 11/8 (orchestral and electronic remixes). sym fera recently  drop their newest single, ‘Beg'. At the same time as the release, they will reveal their identities (Nick Simmons – the son of Gene Simmons and Vinnie Ferra – co-founder of Beehive).Their first EP was released under State of The Art Records, helmed by Ian McEvily, Marc Jordan, and Mike Clemenza, who themselves did not know the real names of the band members before they made an offer to sign them. The reason for hiding their identities was to create a social experiment in a time when name and social following seem to be the most common reasons for artists to garner any support or movement early on. Would they be successful without using any industry ties? Could they break through the noise and garner a following without millions of followers? The answer is, yes. We want to hear from you! Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
