Revista digital La tortuga Avui. www.latortugaavui.com Redes: Instagram: area-hermetica-radio. Send us a textThe famous slogan "Let My People Go" became a rallying cry for Jews worldwide in the 1970s, advocating for the release of Soviet Jewry. However, as the Rebbe reminded us, the slogan's full meaning—"so that they may serve Me"—was often overlooked. This sermon explores the deeper significance of this missing line and the importance of spiritual liberation alongside physical freedom. Drawing parallels with Moshe Dayan's speech during the War of Attrition, the Rebbe emphasized that our strength lies not only in action but in unwavering faith that "G-d is with us," the ultimate source of courage and victory.Key Takeaways:Complete the Mission: Physical freedom is essential, but it is only complete when coupled with the ability to observe Torah and mitzvot.Spiritual Liberation: True freedom is achieved when Jews can live fully as Jews, celebrating traditions, and passing them on to future generations.Faith Over Fear: In the face of overwhelming challenges, the Jewish people have always drawn strength from the belief that G-d is with them. The Power of the Full Verse: Understanding and embracing the full context of Torah teachings strengthens our resolve and gives purpose to our actions.Support the Show.Got your own question for Rabbi Bernath? Moshe Dayan (1915-1981) is a controversial figure in Israeli politics. Revered by some as a master strategist, he is criticised by others for his failure to foresee Egypt's attack in 1973, and then for ‘giving up' the Sinai in return for a peace treaty. Strategy-making can take two approaches. The first, ‘Deliberate Strategy', is formulated and implemented hierarchically and centrally; decisions are taken by the head of the organisation, and detailed plans and instructions are issued to those responsible for implementation. The alternative model, ‘Emergent Strategy', is characterised by its flexibility on ends as well as ways and means. This week's guest, Professor Eitan Shamir, is the Director of the Begin Sadat Center for Strategic Studies of Bar Ilan University, argues that Moshe Dayan was a strategist who took the second approach. Professor Shamir is the author of a new biography entitled “Moshe Dayan: The Making of a Strategist” (2023, in Hebrew, and due to be published in English in 2024 by Cambridge University Press) and, with Beatrice, edited Insurgencies and Counterinsurgencies: National Styles and Strategic Cultures (CUP, 2017).

This double episode closes the first season of Keys. With the Hamas invasion and massacre of October 7 2023 leading to the 2023 Israel-Gaza War, this episode brings its historical understanding to the cruel events that are unfolding as we work. We reveal that the horror that fills the news every day has its roots deep in the history of Israel-Palestine. UN Secretary-General António Guterres reminded the world that “the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum”. This special episode shows how the deeds and decisions of the past are projected on to the screen of today. If we know our history, can that help us to escape it? PLACE NAMES When the place names in Keys get confusing, these notes will help. Mike's grandparents came from Galicia, a part of eastern Europe on no modern map. Today some of Galicia is southeast Poland, another part is western Ukraine. Galicia no longer exists. In the last century, many of Galicia's Jews, Ukrainians and Poles also ceased to exist, violently, as their province was repeatedly ruptured by the front lines of two World Wars, genocide and ethnic cleansing. Before 1918, Galicia was the Austro-Hungarian Empire's most eastern province. Its capital was Lemberg (German) = Lwów (Polish) = Lviv (Ukrainian). Three names, but one city. Further south, Mike's grandfather grew up in Stanislau (German); left Stanislaviv (Ukrainian) in 1918 for a better life in Germany; deported back to Stanisławów (Polish) in 1938, which became Stanislaviv (Ukrainian) in 1939; killed in Stanislau (German) in 1941. Before Mike first visited that city in 1999, the Soviet Union renamed it Ivano-Frankovsk (Russian). Today the place where he found his grandfather's surviving colleagues and allies is called Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukrainian). Five names, but one city. Fatima Abu Salem grew up in the thriving Palestinian village of Burayr, at crossroads leading to Gaza, Hebron and Beersheba. Today a few ruins of Burayr are surrounded by the fields of Kibbutz Bro'r Hayyil. Two names, but one place. Place names matter. How we name places reveals our own histories, identities and yearnings. All of us worry about the courageous soldiers of the IDF going into the alleys and tunnels of Gaza. It fills us all with deep dread. The ground invasion, and what it will mean to Israeli soldiers, has resurfaced a very important text in Israeli history, Moshe Dayan's brief remarks at the funeral of an officer named Roy Rotenberg who was murdered in 1956 patrolling the Israeli-Gaza border in the same area where more Israelis were murdered on October 7. Dayan's brief speech is called Israel's Gettysburg Address. In few words, he nails the reality of what it will take to keep a Jewish state alive. The words seem exhausting, depressing and all too true. They were true in 1956. They remain true today. Shavit tells the story of why the conflict which eventuated in death along the Gaza border in 1956 and again in 2023 will never be resolved, which will make Dayan's words the eternal cost of an eternal Jewish state.

Every crisis that has ripped through this region in the ensuing decades, from the Yom Kippur War of 1973 to the ongoing intifada, is a direct consequence of those six days of fighting. Writing with a novelist's command of narrative and a historian's grasp of fact and motive, Michael B. Oren reconstructs both the lightning-fast action on the battlefields and the political shocks that electrified the world. Extraordinary personalities—Moshe Dayan and Gamal Abdul Nasser, Lyndon Johnson and Alexei Kosygin—rose and toppled from power as a result of this war; borders were redrawn; daring strategies brilliantly succeeded or disastrously failed in a matter of hours. The day is here, and this is possibly the most I have ever researched for any one episode. We continue from Pt. 1 on the secret society known as The Parushim which included two Supreme Court Justices, & then get into some bizarre teachings about a Holy Serpent. Then, we take a step deeper into the early push for the modern state looking directly at quotes from leaders in the movement. From there, we get into events that took place at the beginning of its establishment, & still, we've only skimmed the surface. Just wait for Pt. 3!  Now, time to get down that hot, sandy rabbit hole, far beyond the mainstream!   Cheers, and Blessings   The Odd Man Out   Show Notes•   The Parushim «KALLEN invited no one to become a member until the candidate had given specific assurances regarding devotion and resolution to the Zionist cause, and each initiate had to undergo a rigorous analysis of his qualifications, loyalty, and willingness to take orders from the Order's Executive Council.» — Schmidt, Horace M. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman went on a tour of Mideast capitals late last month, renewing his contacts with the leaders of Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. MBS, as he is known, was a favorite of the Trump administration, but was subsequently shunned by the Biden team – which frequently waves the flag of human rights as a pillar of the Administration's foreign policy – so-long as it conforms with Washington's strategic interests. Hence, in light of global shifts which altered strategic considerations, US President Joe Biden is forcing to bring MBS back in from the cold ahead of a regional Arab summit he will attend hosted by the House of Saud later this month.

Next month the world will mark the twentieth anniversary of nine-eleven, the most momentous event of this century, so far. This simultaneous attack on American targets massacred almost three thousand innocent victims and caused two military conflicts, in Afghanistan and Iraq, which in one way or another still persist. This was the most blatant example of Islamic terror, perpetrated by non-state actors, in this case Al Qaeda and in others the Islamic State, alongside a long list of other groups. If there is terror in the world today, its Islamic variant is not alone in spreading its evil, but it is surely the most abundant and dangerous.

--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hatikwa-ugei/message

When one tries to follow Lebanese politics, it is as if nothing of significance took place in Beirut, Tripoli, Baal Bek and the other cities and districts since deep into the last century. The names of the same ruling families and dynasties are heard now as in 2005, 1990 and even earlier. Maronite, Shiite and Sunni power brokers jockey for position and enjoy the forbidden fruits of corruption - while the country sinks into an economic and social abyss. “This is an essential book for those who wish to understand a city that remains a nexus of world affairs.” —Booklist (starred) Jerusalem is the epic history of three thousand years of faith, fanaticism, bloodshed, and coexistence, from King David to the 21st century, from the birth of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to the Israel-Palestine conflict. How did this small, remote town become the Holy City, the “center of the world” and now the key to peace in the Middle East? In a gripping narrative, Simon Sebag Montefiore reveals this ever-changing city in its many incarnations, bringing every epoch and character blazingly to life. Jerusalem's biography is told through the wars, love affairs, and revelations of the men and women who created, destroyed, chronicled and believed in Jerusalem. As well as the many ordinary Jerusalemites who have left their mark on the city, its cast varies from Solomon, Saladin and Suleiman the Magnificent to Cleopatra, Caligula and Churchill; from Abraham to Jesus and Muhammad; from the ancient world of Jezebel, Nebuchadnezzar, Herod and Nero to the modern times of the Kaiser, Disraeli, Mark Twain, Lincoln, Rasputin, Lawrence of Arabia and Moshe Dayan. In this masterful narrative, Simon Sebag Montefiore brings the holy city to life and draws on the latest scholarship, his own family history, and a lifetime of study to show that the story of Jerusalem is truly the story of the world.

The House of Saud had more than three months to prepare for a new reality of its American connection ever since Donald Trump lost his bid to stay in the White House, but the blow it suffered was nevertheless painful. US President Joe Biden has opened a new chapter in the relationship between Washington and Riyadh. First, Biden withdrew political and military support from Saudi offensive operations in Yemen, allowing only defensive actions to protect targets within the Kingdom. Then he released an intelligence report pinning the responsibility for Jamal Khashoggi’s murder on the Crown Prince and de-facto ruler, Muhammad bin Salman. While stopping short of punishing MBS personally, Biden is in essence intervening in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia and its regime. What are the risks and consequences in this departure from the previous Administration’s policy, as the Iranian threat is still central to the regional strategy of both Americans and Saudis? One of the most energetic and at the same time eccentric characters on the Jewish scene of the post war was Rabbi Mordechai Elefant (1930-2009). Growing up in New York in the 1940's he became a student of both Rav Aharon Kotler and Rav Leib Malin. Moving to Israel in the 1950's, he forged a connection with the Rav Velvel Soloveitchik - the Brisker Rov and with other leading rabbis of the day. He immediately threw himself into a lifelong objective of building and fundraising for Torah institutions. The nucleus of what was to become his ITRI Yeshiva began in the Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem. He would later build a small neighborhood there aptly named Kiriyat Itri. The Yeshiva itself eventually settled in its permanent campus on the outskirts of the Beit Safafa neighborhood following the Six Day War. Renowned for his fundraising talent, political connections with Israeli politicians like Moshe Dayan and Teddy Kollek, United States politicians like Hubert Humphrey and Gerald Ford, his eccentricities and antics, and most of all his boundless energy and desire to build Torah.   Subscribe To Our Podcast on:   PodBean: https://jsoundbites.podbean.com/   Follow us on Twitter or Instagram at @Jsoundbites You can email Yehuda at yehuda@yehudageberer.com

The Lion's Gate: On the Front Lines of the Six Day War by Steven Pressfield   From the bestselling author of Gates of Fire and Killing Rommel, the thrilling true story of one of the most unlikely and astonishing military victories in history. June 5, 1967. Israel is surrounded by enemies who want nothing less than her utter extinction. The Soviet-equipped Egyptian Army has massed a thousand tanks on the nation's southern border. Syrian heavy guns are shelling her from the north. To the east, Jordan and Iraq are moving mechanized brigades and fighter squadrons into position to attack. June 10, 1967. The Arab armies have been routed, their air forces totally destroyed. Israel's citizen-soldiers have seized the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the Golan Heights from Syria, East Jerusalem and the West Bank from Jordan. Moshe Dayan has entered the Lion's Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem to stand with the paratroopers who have liberated Judaism's holiest site—the Western Wall. Drawing on hundreds of hours of interviews with veterans of the war—fighter and helicopter pilots, tank commanders and Recon soldiers, paratroopers, as well as women soldiers, wives, and others—bestselling author Steven Pressfield tells the story of the Six Day War as you've never experienced it before.

This event is a book launch for Eric Rouleau's autobiographical work titled Truths and Lies in the Middle East: Memoirs of a Veteran Journalist, 1952-2012. Eric Rouleau was one of the most celebrated journalists of his generation, a status he owed to his extraordinary career, which began when Hubert Beuve-Méry, director of Le Monde, charged him with covering the Near and Middle East. Alain Gresh, French journalist and former editor of Le Monde Diplomatique, who also wrote the foreword for this book will be speaking at this event about Rouleau's life and work. The event will be chaired by Jim Muir, Visiting Senior Fellow at the LSE Middle East Centre and BBC Middle East Correspondent. Writing between Cairo and Jerusalem, Rouleau was a chief witness to the wars of 1967 and 1973, narrating their events from behind the scenes. He was to meet all the major players, including Nasser, Levi Ashkol, Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir, Yasser Arafat, Ariel Sharon, and Anwar Sadat, painting striking portraits of each. More than a memoir, his book presents a history, lived from the inside, of the Israel–Palestine conflict. In 1963, Rouleau was invited by Gamal Abd al-Nasser to interview him in Cairo, a move which was not lost on the young Rouleau—going through him, a young Egyptian Jew who had been exiled from Egypt in late 1951, shortly before the Free Officers coup, was a means to renew diplomatic ties with de Gaulle’s France. This exclusive interview, which immediately made headlines around the world, propelled Rouleau into the center of the region’s conflicts for two decades. Alain Gresh is Publication Director of the online newspaper Orient XXI. He was previously Deputy Director of Le Monde Diplomatique from 2008-2013. A specialist on the Middle East, he is author of several books including PLO: The Struggle Within, de quoi la palestine est elle le nom? and Un chant d’amour. Israël-Palestine, une histoire française. In 1983, Gresh completed a PhD on the Palestinian Liberation Organisation. Jim Muir is a British journalist and BBC Middle East Correspondent. After taking a first in Arabic at Cambridge University in 1969, Jim worked in book publishing in London in the early 70s and moved to Beirut in January 1975. He covered all phases of the Lebanese Civil War 1975–1990 for the BBC and many other radio and print outlets. He then moved to Bosnia in the early 1990s before arriving in Cairo as BBC Middle East correspondent in 1995. Jim then reopened the BBC Tehran bureau and was correspondent there from 1999 to 2004. In 2005, he returned to Beirut and spent much time covering Iraq for the BBC, followed by the overthrow of Mubarak in Egypt in 2011. Jim also provided a large proportion of the BBC's coverage of the Syrian uprising and civil war from the spring of 2011. Join the conversation on Twitter using #LSEMiddleEast

We shared in part one how Moshe Dayan rose to fame as a military hero. He joined the Hagana militia at the age of 14 and guided Israel through the Six Day War to one of the most lopsided victories in the history of warfare. In Part two we learn However, in 73, with Dayan still the defense minister, the Arabs launched a surprise attack from Syria and Egypt on Yom Kippur. While Israelis were fasting all over the nation, Egypt and Syria attacked. Expect for a few IDF commanders whose concerns fell upon deaf ears, no one saw it coming. Israel was caught off guard.   As we will detail in our episode on the Valley of Tears, Israel, though outnumbered by the Soviet-backed Syrians, miraculously drove the them out of the Golan Heights. Israel won the Yom Kippur War, but it was Dayan who blamed for not being battle-ready.  Dayan’s actions just after the miraculous recapturing of Jerusalem during the Six-Day-War may have sealed his fate, if you believe that God was behind the victory and had an opinion regrding the aftermath. After removing the Israeli flag from the Temple Mount, and then commanding the paratroopers to evacuate, Moshe Dayan declared, “We have returned to the holiest of our places, never to be parted from them again…We did not come to conquer the sacred sites of others or to restrict their religious rights, but rather to ensure the integrity of the city and to live in it with others in fraternity.” On the one hand, this showed that Israelis were not like the Jordanians, who destroyed every Jewish building or symbol after 1948, when all Jews were removed from the ancient Old City of Jerusalem. On the other hand, if God had returned the Temple Mount to Israel, who were we to allow Islamists free access…to the point that today, I, as an Israeli can only visit the Temple Mount and that with great difficulty, while Hamas activists have constant and free access. Dayan made it possible for Jews to visit the Temple Mount, but were forbidden to pray. Later, the secularist Dayan remarked that the Temple Mount is a Prayer mosque for Muslims, but merely an historical site for Jews.     I remember many years ago, leading a group of tourists up on the Temple Mount. I didn’t know the rules. As I gathered them together I boldly declared, “I don’t care what the Muslims say! This is our Temple Mount and we will pray here whether they like it or not.” As I began to pray the tour guide broke through our little circle in a panic, “You can’t do that! They are listening to you. There are microphones everywhere.”  Suddenly I didn’t feel so bold, knowing that some Hamas activist was monitoring my bravado. How sad that neither Jews nor Christians are allowed to utter a word of thanksgiving at the place where Abraham bound Isaac, and where the first and second Temples stood—the greatest monument to the existence of Ancient Israel.  Moshe Dayan, for all his heroics, was a secularist. He was not seeking what was in God’s heart, but what was politically acceptable. He did not want to keep the Golan Heights, but wanted to trade it back to the Syrians for peace—as if that was even a possibility. He opposed the Kibbutzim, the collective farms that settled the Golan.  Dayan was thought of by his peers to be brilliant, yet irresponsible, brave, yet, not willing to be held accountable for mistakes. While he loved the Jewish people, he had little respect for Judaism, once remarking when rabbis flocked to the Temple Mount just after it was liberated, “What is this? The Vatican?” Dayan died of a massive heart attack in 1981. Make sure you go to God.tv so you never miss an episode and you can find me at roncantor.com. Shalom.

Moshe Dayan, the iconic eye-patch wearing soldier, is considered by many to be one of Israel’s greatest generals. But his life was not free from controversy.  intro He was the second child born on the very first Kibbutz, or collective farm—in Israel, situated below the Sea of Galilee, right next to Yardenit on the Jordan, where millions of pilgrims come to be immersed in water. He was named Moshe after the first member of the Kibbutz that was killed by Arabs, as he was seeking medication for Moshe’s father. At the time, Degania was part of the Ottoman Empire. This was before the first world war, after which Great Britain would take control of what would become Israel, a few decades later. At the young age of 14 he joined the Haganah, the main forerunner to the Israeli Defense Forces, along with a few other militias. He later was accepted into an elite force led and trained under famed British Commander Orde Wingate. There Dayan would learn guerilla warfare—the only way for the outnumbered Israelis to survive. Wingate was known for his unconventional fighting tactics. He was Christian and a devout Zionist. He felt it his Biblical duty to serve the Jewish people in establishing their own state.  Wingate, who personally selected Dayan, organized the Special Night Squads or the SNS. The SNS, amongst, other responsibilities, would stealthily attack known Arab terrorists with small, but well-trained, squads in the middle of the night. They were highly successful and today, one of our nations universities bears his name—my wife Elana studied there. Dayan continued to serve with the British and is most famous for the eyepatch that covered his left eye. On June 7th, 1941, in the midst of a firefight with the Syrians, he was looking through the scope of his rifle, when he was shot in the eye. In most cases such a wound be fatal. But Dayan recovered and his eye patch became legendary.  In 1967, he was appointed defense minister, and oversaw the miraculous victory of the Six-Day-War. Dayan was the one who boldly decided to confront the belligerent Syrians who were bombing Israeli villages from the Golan Heights. Furthermore, it was Dayan who imposed a news blackout for the first day of the war.  The effect of this blackout was remarkable. On the one hand, Israelis and Jews all over the world, were left to believe the false reports coming out of Egypt of an Arab stampede. On the other hand, this enabled Israel to achieve all her objectives without the UN interfering. No one at the UN was concerned about an Israeli loss—but an Israeli rout of her overconfident neighbors would lead to calls for an immediate ceasefire.  When the results came in, the world was shocked: Nearly 500 Arab planes destroyed, the Israelis were advancing with little resistance throughout the Sinai, all the way to the Suez Canal, 600 Egyptian tanks were taken out and 10,000 Egyptians killed or wounded, and another 5,000 plus were taken as POWs. Moshe Dayan was celebrated around the world as one of the great military minds of our day. But his story doesn’t end there. Join me for part 2.

She was born Golda Mabovitch in 1898 in Kiev, which is now in the Ukraine, but then it was part of the Russian Empire. In her autobiography, Golda tells about her father boarding their home up, during the pogroms in 1905 in Kiev, where over 100 Jews were murdered. In 1906 her family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a natural leader, famous for having raised money to pay for textbooks for her whole school when she was only 11 years old. She knew how to speak from her heart. She ran away from home when she was 15 years old because her parents wanted her to leave school and get a job. She went to Denver, where her sister Sheyna lived. There she learned about Zionism. She met Morris Myerson there, and they married, on the condition that they would move to Israel, which they did, in 1921 to Kibbutz Merhavia. They moved to Jerusalem in 1924 and had two children, Menahem and Sarah. In Jerusalem, Golda Meir became politically active, by representing the Histadrut Trade Union and also serving as a delegate to the World Zionist Organization. This area, at the time, was under the control of Great Britain, as prescribed by the sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916. This was a secret agreement from 1916 between the French and the British, which the Russians agreed to, that split up the region of what is now Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Armenia, and Israel. The British White Paper of 1939 went so far to allow the Arab official of the area to determine the rate of Jewish Immigration, including during the Second World War. Golda Meir fought hard against these policies at the time. When it was decided that the Jews would be given a homeland in the area of Palestine, it was clear that there would be a war. Golda knew English, so she knew how to speak to the American Jews. She went on a fundraising trip, and came back with 50M dollars! They were able then to buy weapons from Czechoslovakia, which enabled them to defend themselves during the war of independence. In 1948, Israel declared its independence and Golda Meir's signature is on that declaration. She was elected to the Israeli parliament, and when the fighting with the Arabs started, David Ben-Gurion sent her, dressed up in disguise as an Arab, on a secret mission, to plead with King Abdullah I not to enter into a war against Israel. He declined. On May 10, 1948, four days before the official establishment of Israel, Meir traveled to Amman, Jordan, disguised as an Arab woman for a secret meeting with King Abdullah I of Transjordan at which she urged him not to join the other Arab countries in attacking the Jews. Abdullah asked her not to hurry to proclaim a state. Meir replied: "We've been waiting for 2,000 years. Is that hurrying?" The war expanded to include Egypt, Transjordan, Iraq, and Syria, all against Israel. The result, as we know, is that Israel preserved her independence. Golda was named the Minister of Labor, then the Foreign Minister. Carrying the first Israeli-issued passport, Meir was appointed Israel's ambassador to the Soviet Union. In 1955, on Ben-Gurion's instructions, she stood for the position of mayor of Tel Aviv. She lost by the two votes of the religious bloc who withheld their support because she was a woman. Golda Meir gave a speech to the UN in 1962 urging Arabs to agree to full disarmament. Here is part of the introduction: [audio clip on podcast] When Golda Meir was 68 years old, even though she wanted to leave the world of politics, she was convinced to stay on as the head of the Mapai party, which she was able to merge with two other parties into the Israel Labor Party. After Prime Minister Levi Eshkol suddenly died in 1969, she put off her retirement again and agreed to serve out the remainder of his term. Then her party won the elections, and she got a further four years as prime minister. During her time as prime minister, she met with Henry Kissinger, she agreed for “security versus sovereignty,” where Israel would accept that Egypt has all of Sinai, while Egypt would accept Israeli presence in some of the Sinai strategic positions. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team and a German police guard were murdered. Golda Meir then ok'd what is known as Operation Wrath of God, which was an undercover operation carried out by the Mossad, to kill the people responsible for the massacre, who were from the PLO and the Black September. Now, let's talk about the lead up to the Yom Kippur War. The Israeli intelligence couldn't say for sure if an attack was being planned by the surrounding Arab nations, but on Oct 5, 1973, Meir did receive notice that the Syrian forces were massing on the Golan Heights. Her advisers said that they would still have enough time, if needed, to gather the Israeli troops up to fight, but the general feeling in the country was there would not be an attack after the results of the Six-Day War. So although a resolution was passed giving Golda the OK to gather all of the troops together just in case, she didn't do it early enough. Soon, it was clear that there would be war. Golda met with Moshe Dayan who was Minister of Defense, and with General David Elazar. Dayan said there would not be war, so to only gather up the air force and two divisions. General Elazar said that Israel should mobilize all of her troops, plus launch a preemptive strike. Golda Meir did not launch a strike but did gather the troops. She was afraid to lose the US backing, which would certainly be lost if Israel was seen to be the first attacker. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger later made a famous statement, that if Israel had launched a preemptive strike, she would not have received “so much as a nail.” After the Yom Kippur War, Meir and her party were plagued with questions over the lack of preparation for the war. She resigned in April of 1974, succeeded by Yitzhak Rabin as prime minister. She died at the age of 80 from cancer in 1978. The women I talk about are our teachers. Our mentors. SERMON DESCRIPTION “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” —Abraham Lincoln Freedom is our power, our right to act, to speak, and to think as we want without hindrance or restraint. Freedom is an inside reality. Freedom is consciousness. Moshe Dayan calls freedom the “oxygen of the soul.” Freedom isn’t a gift as much as a choice. It is a decision one must make in order to experience both its outward and inward manifestation. Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the freedom wherewith Christ (consciousness) has made you free and be not again entangle with a yoke of (religious) bondage...” “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” —Martin Luther King, Jr.  SUBSCRIBE TO AUDIO PODCAST: WATCH THIS SERMON ON YOUTUBE: SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL: GIVE A DONATION TO HELP US SPREAD THIS LOVE BEYOND BELIEF: or text LOVEBB to 73256 LET'S CONNECT: Facebook: Twitter: All Souls Church Website:

The State of Israel faced mortal danger in June, 1967.  Surrounded on three sides by hostile Arab states, armed to the teeth with the latest Soviet equipment, on paper, the odds of Israel's survival did not look good.  Yet in six days that stunned the world, Israel not only survived, but routed three armies and tripled the size of its territory at the expense of Egypt, Syria and Jordan.  The impact of this brief campaign is still being felt today.  This episode describes how this incredible military achievement was planned and executed using every art of war by Israel's brilliant commanders, Moshe Dayan, Yitzak Rabin, Mordechai Hod and their generals.  Conversely, learn how the seeds of destruction were sown in the Arab alliance and within the political/military institutions of Egypt and Syria before the war ever began.

Podcast covers Obama prophecy, and the future of Babylon, Petra, and the Jews.   BIBI, BABYLON, AND 'BAMA A PROPHECY MADE IN 2009 BY PRINCE HANDLEY MUSIC / INTRO HEADLINES: Enraged Palestinians thinking about returning to terror for Netanyahu speech. Palestinians say they want to return to terror (or, well timed terror synchronized with diplomacy) after Netanyahu's straight forward talk for peace and a two state solution for Israel. I have a question: “When did they stop terrorism?” The Palestinians' main tool of force to influence negotiations was terror under Arafat. What other kind of manifestation of disease would you expect from a sick, depraved world view and religion? Killing innocent people and children … even their own. Tempting youngsters with the dream of heaven for murdering people. What a beautiful so-called god. (Who in their right mind would want to serve a god like that?) The hardliners in PA want: 1. Israel's total withdrawal to pre 1967 borders; 2. A Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital; and, 3. The right of 1948 refugees to return to their homes. As for Number 1 (withdrawal to pre 1967 borders by Israel), who started the war? Why discourage the brave IDF and IAF warriors who give of their youth and strength for Israel … and then give back what they won. Israel, you were attacked in 1967 and 1973. You won these wars. Then, why give back land you won, especially land Adonai promised you. As far as the 1948 conflict, let me remind you: “Who started that one, too.” As far as any part of Jerusalem representing a Palestinian capital, there is NO record of Palestinians having any ownership rights. And if they are talking about Islam, it wasn't even a religion until the 7th century C.E. (or, A.D.) when a child molester named Muhammad (who married a 9 year old girl) started the religion after a false god non-entity name allah (the name of the so called moon god used before that time.) Eretz Yisrael, or the Land of Israel, was named after one of the patriarchs of the Jewish People, “Jacob,” whose name was changed by God to the name “Israel” 4,000 years ago. The land was settled by the Israelites after their Exodus from Egypt about 3,500 years ago. Actually, there is no relationship between the names Palestinian and Philistine. The original Philistines were a non-Semitic people. As far as the Philistines, they only occupied the southern portion of the coastal region. The Arabs calling themselves “Palestinians” today are a Semitic people and descendants of Ishmael. In fact, according to the British Mandate or Palestine Mandate, an Arab Palestine already exists on 80% of the land set aside for a Jewish homeland by the earlier Balfour Declaration. This is the fictional Arab Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, formerly Trans Jordan: a nation that aggressively attacked Israel with the intention of its annihilation from the map on more than one occasion. In 1948, it conquered and occupied the disputed territories of Judea & Samaria. In 1967, Israel reconquered its land in a defensive war. According to international law, land lost by an aggressor legally belongs to the aggrieved and attacked. MUSIC The Children of Israel and the Land of Israel remain inseparable eternally. The Palestinians are so mad that someone (aka: Binyamin Netanyahu) finally had guts (and wisdom) enough to plow through political correctness and speak the truth (re: Bibi's speech at Bar Ilan University) concerning President Obama's weak toast desire for a two state solution in Israel. I would like to add one thing to your speech, PM Netanyahu. There already is a Palestinian state. Again, Jordan is the original Palestinian State. It is amazing that people as intelligent as Condoleeza Rice and Tzipi Livni failed to capitalize on this. Could it be political expediency … or, political correctness? Netanyahu's speech at the Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat Hall Sunday, June 14, declared: “The Palestinians refugee problem must be settled outside Israel's boundaries and Jerusalem will remain the undivided capital of Israel with religious freedom for all faiths.” The Netanyahu speech expressed the formulated opinion of the majority of Israelis, and which no Israeli leader previously has had the courage and wisdom to declare. Israelis should be proud of Bibi. God can bless a leader who does NOT apologize for his country when it is not necessary, and who is not afraid to stand for truth or God. He spoke admiringly of the statesmanship of Israel's founder, David Ben Gurion, who founded the state, and said he aspired to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Menahem Begin and Egypt's Anwar Sadat, who signed the first peace accord between Israel and an Arab nation. He justified the Jewish people's ancestral right to the land of its fathers after 2,000 years of persecution. He promised Israel would recognize a Palestinian national flag, government and national anthem, but that in exchange, Israel was entitled to Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state with its own flag, anthem and government. Even is the PA agrees to Netanyahu's offer – which they will not because they only want a one-way street – they will not keep their word. They never do, and this is a sign that what they believer intrinsically (including their religion) is deceptive: you know a tree by its fruit. Yasser Arafat doubled and tripled his armed forces, blew up Israeli buses, and implemented bloody Palestinian suicide strikes against Israel, while appearing to negotiate for peace. Netanyahu spoke in favor of a Palestinian state alongside Israel in his speech at Bar Ilan University, but only on the following conditions: The Palestinian state is demilitarized, does not control its air space, accepts effective security arrangements against arms smuggling, may not sign military treaties, and finally recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Netanyahu disputed the thesis that Israel arose from the ashes of the Nazi Holocaust and maintained that had the state of Israel been established earlier, the Holocaust would have been prevented. He said, “Jerusalem will remain Israel's united capital with freedom of religion for all faiths.” The White House said that president Obama welcomes Netanyahu's endorsement of a separate Palestinian state as an "important step forward.” The real ploy behind the “land for peace” negotiations is to reduce Israeli real estate to the position where Israel would NOT have effective air operations response. This, obviously, would render only one result for Israel: a forced nuclear operation against Iran and other terrorist, rogue nations (including Russia). MUSIC Let me remind you that G-d’s plan for the Middle East is to: 1.    Settle the Jews in Israel. 2.    Give Jerusalem to Israel. 3.    Destroy Babylon. Study this > Babylon the Bitch: Enemy of Israel.  4.    Judge Mt. Seir and Edom.  5.    Make it evident to all nations that G-d has brought Israel back from the diaspora to Israel.  “Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;  But, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.”  (Jeremiah 16:14-15)  6.    Bring a spiritual awakening among Israeli people.  7.    Make Jerusalem a “cup of trembling” to all nations.  Land for peace is NOT G-d’s plan for the Middle East. Land for peace is a trap to weaken and position Israel into a limited area where she would have NO effective air response (defensive or offensive) operations. This is a planned stratagem for the annihilation for the State of Israel, and any Israeli (or, other) leader who defends such a plan should be marked as a traitor to the State of Israel. Not only that, but the land belongs to Israel by:  Promise from G-d (to Abraham); and,  Victory in war (1948, 1967 and 1973).  PROPHECY BY PRINCE HANDLEY  I will prophesy to you that Obama will deceive Israel. He will make sweeping international moves in symphony with gestures and promises to Israel and the Jewish People worldwide of support for Eretz Israel. In a moment of time, he will turn his back on Israel and the Jewish People, and geographically separated terrorist clashes and protests involving Israel will happen.  At the right moment (not right for Israel) Obama will be supportive of a peace treaty and come out in support of both the Jews and the Arabic-Islamic countries. THE FUTURE NEWS NOW When the coming world leader – appointed by the New Global Governance (New World Order) – takes over, he will make a treaty (a covenant) with Israel for seven years. Today, in addition to disease and famine issues, the leaders of the dominant nations are concerned with three (3) primary factors: Attaining peace among nations and ethnic groups; Guaranteeing the flow of oil; and, Stopping terrorism and conflict in the Middle East (especially between Israel and the Palestinians). MUSIC Again, the CHIEF bargaining factor will be the city of Jerusalem! A Seven Year Treaty will be the coup de grace for Israel. What you should be watching for is Leadership: a leader who will seemingly have the solution for the Israeli - Palestinian conflict. This leader, appointed by the NWO will bring temporary peace and will convince the Jewish people to sign a seven (7) year treaty. This is a stratagem designed for the annihilation of the People of Israel: the Jews.  In exchange for agreeing to this treaty negotiation, Israel will be allowed to rebuild her Temple on the Temple Mount. Then, after three and one half years (42 months) the NWO leader (the false Messiah) will do just what Antiochus Epiphanes did, who desecrated the Jewish Temple at the time of the Maccabean revolt. (Tanakh: Read Daniel 9:24-27 and Daniel 11:31 in the Tanakh.)  The new world leader will go into the new rebuilt Temple and blaspheme G-d. Then, he will declare that he is G-d. The 42 months which follow this event (the last half of the seven year covenant) will prove to be the worst time of persecution the Jews have ever known: worse than they experienced during the Holocaust under Nazi Germany. The Seven Year Treaty-Covenant will be a trap to bring about the subjugation, persecution, and total annihilation of  the Jewish People. During the last half of the seven years many Jews will flee to Petra where they will be safe from the anti-Messiah, the coming world leader. G-d causes a supernatural geological happening to take place to protect them from an attempt of the new world leader to extinguish the Jews who have fled to Petra. NOTICE: In 1967 I was invited by one of the professors at the University of Judaism to come speak about Petra. One of the people in attendance was an attorney named Nissan Blumenthal who was one of the nine (9) men from the USA invited to private confidential conference with Moshe Dayan after Israel's 1967 War with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Mr. Blumenthal actually commanded the Jews present to be quiet and to listen to what I had to say concerning the evacuation of Jews to Petra during the last 42 months of the future Seven Year Treaty. THE ULTIMATE … REAL AND LASTING … PEACE There will be NO peace until the Messiah returns. However, you can have PEACE in your heart. Make sure you know REAL Messiah NOW … avoid the grasp of the new world leader – the FALSE messiah - who is alive NOW and hates the Jewish People. Pray to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Ask Him to reveal to you if Yeshua is really your Messiah. If He does, then receive Him into your life. Pray, and ask Him what He wants you to do. Read the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah. Right now, there are 144,000 Jewish male prophets (12,000 out of each 12 tribes of Israel) called and anointed by YWHW to prepare the return of Messiah Yeshua to earth to establish His Kingdom. Some already know they are called – some do not. God will begin to show you with signs you can NOT deny. Baruch haba b'shem Adonai. Jerusalem. How did this small, remote town became the Holy City, the desire of every empire, and the key to Middle East peace? In this dazzling talk from February 2011, Simon Sebag Montefiore revealed the ever-changing city through its many incarnations, bringing every epoch and character blazingly to life. Jerusalem’s biography was told through the wars, adventures, love-affairs and messianic revelations of the men and women – kings, empresses, saints, conquerors, prophets and whores – who created, destroyed, chronicled and believed in the Holy City. Its cast varies from Solomon and Saladin to Churchill, Cleopatra and Caligula, from Abraham, Jesus and Muhammad to Jezebel, Nero, Napoleon, Rasputin, Herod and Nebuchadnezzar, from the Kaiser, Disraeli and Lloyd George, to Yasser Arafat, King Hussein and Moshe Dayan. Ever since the founding of the state of Israel, the country’s leaders have favored overwhelming military might over diplomatic finesse in confronting conflicts with their neighbors. Such is the argument made by veteran journalist Patrick Tyler in his new book, Fortress Israel: The Inside Story of the Military Elite Who Run the Country—and Why They Can’t Make Peace. Tyler has spent a combined 26 years reporting for the New York Times and the Washington Post, covering the U.S. State Department, the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and the Middle East. In his book, Tyler focuses on the latter, offering a fascinating account of the Israeli military establishment—its victories, defeats, mistakes, and cover-ups. Beginning with David Ben-Gurion and Moshe Dayan in the 1950s and continuing almost up to the... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Podcast covers Obama prophecy, and the future of Babylon, Petra, and the Jews.   BIBI, BABYLON, AND 'BAMA MUSIC / INTRO HEADLINES: Enraged Palestinians thinking about returning to terror for Netanyahu speech. 3.    Destroy Babylon (see my podcasts Thu, 20 March 2008 and Thu, 27 March 2008: “Babylon: the Enemy of Israel Exposed” – Part 1 and Part 2. 4.    Judge Mt.
