CEO branding expert and partner at Ascendant Group Branding:
Most of us have tried to fix our relationship with money from the neck up. We've done the affirmations. We've read the books. We've tried to think differently, speak differently, believe differently. And yet the fear is still there. The guilt is still there. That low-level shame that shows up every time we look at our bank account, still there. What if the problem isn't your mindset at all? In this episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, Will and Karen sit down with Sarah McCrum, author of “Love Money. Money Loves You”, and one of the most grounded and genuinely surprising voices in the money consciousness space. Sarah isn't coming at this from a law of attraction angle, and she's not selling a manifestation formula. She's a Cambridge graduate and former BBC journalist who arrived at this work through personal loss, a business collapse, and one very strange afternoon where her pen started writing things she says she didn't come up with herself. What came through that pen became a book. And that book has quietly transformed the financial lives of more than twenty thousand business owners, investors, and families around the world. What Sarah discovered, and what this conversation unpacks in real time, is that money isn't a neutral force we can manipulate with the right thoughts. It's an energy. A powerful one. And like any relationship, the energy you bring to it determines what you get back. If you've ever caught yourself saying "I can't afford that," "people like me don't make that kind of money," or "I want more money but something about having it feels wrong," this episode is going to hit differently. Because according to Sarah, those aren't just thoughts. They're commands. And something in the fabric of how abundance moves through the world is listening. In this episode:What money consciousness actually means, and why it's fundamentally different from positive thinking or the law of attraction. Why trying to fix your money blocks at the mindset level is working against yourself, and what to work on instead. The automatic writing experience that changed Sarah's life at her lowest financial moment, and the first message she received: "I would like to tell you to love me."How your relationship with money mirrors every other relationship you have, including the unhealthy patterns. Why judging people who have money may be one of the most overlooked abundance blocks of all.The surprising connection between Chinese energy principles, acupuncture, and financial healing. What Sarah calls the three core instructions from money itself: relax, enjoy, love. Why the desire for prosperity isn't shallow or materialistic. It may be one of the deepest soul desires we carry.Enjoyed this episode? Leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts. It goes a long way toward getting conversations like this one in front of the people who need them most. And if someone in your life is struggling with money stress, financial anxiety, or just that nagging feeling that their relationship with money is broken, forward this to them. You never know where someone is. New Reality TV is where this conversation lives alongside hundreds more just like it. Shot in the Face by a Man With a Crossbow. A mental health crisis call became a fight for survival, and one of the most extraordinary chapters in a 23-year law enforcement career. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. #LawEnforcementTalk #Free #Podcast #Radio Hardin County Texas Sheriff's Sergeant Tom Lee had responded to countless difficult calls during more than two decades in law enforcement. On June 20, 2019, he and a caseworker approached a home believing they were there to help a family in crisis. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. The request had come from relatives of a 38-year-old man who was reportedly experiencing a mental health emergency. Lee was serving with the local Sheriff's Office mental health division, a role requiring patience, communication, restraint, and the ability to recognize when a troubled person might become dangerous. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin. Nothing about the assignment suggested that Lee would soon be shot in the face by a man with a crossbow. The central fact remains almost impossible to comprehend: “The crossbow bolt struck him just above his left eye.” The impact could have killed him instantly. Instead, the bolt miraculously failed to penetrate his skull. Although seriously injured, Lee stayed in the fight, returned fire with his service weapon, and stopped the threat. Shot in the Face by a Man With a Crossbow. Both men survived. For Lee, however, physical survival was only the beginning. The ambush became part of a much larger story involving trauma, faith, career setbacks, family, law enforcement service, and the long road toward redemption. That journey is the foundation of his first book, Scars of the Badge: Faith, Trauma, and Redemption Behind the Thin Blue Line. Lee discussed the attack, his recovery, and the emotional cost of police work as a guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. A Mental Health Call With a Terrifying Outcome Lee and a mental health caseworker responded to the residence after the suspect's family requested help from the sheriff's office mental health division. Calls involving a person in crisis are among the most unpredictable assignments in law enforcement. Officers may encounter someone who is frightened, delusional, suicidal, angry, confused, under the influence, or unable to understand what is happening around them. The person may need urgent treatment while also presenting a danger to relatives, clinicians, responding officers, or himself. The objective is often to slow the encounter down, communicate calmly, and connect the individual with appropriate services. But even a carefully planned response can change without warning. He shares the full story as a guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and other major podcast platforms. The interview is also featured across Facebook and Instagram. While Lee and the caseworker were at the property, the 38-year-old suspect emerged from the home armed with a crossbow. He fired at Lee, striking him in the face above the left eye. There was no time for a lengthy assessment. Lee had been ambushed with a weapon capable of causing catastrophic injury or death. Despite the bolt that hit him near his eye, Lee returned fire. His rounds wounded the suspect and neutralized the immediate threat. The event illustrates a reality that is frequently lost in brief News reports and Social Media discussions: officers responding to mental health calls may be attempting to help someone, yet they must also be ready to defend themselves and others in a fraction of a second. “The call began as an effort to help a family. It became a deadly-force encounter in seconds.” Survival Against Extraordinary Odds Lee's survival was remarkable. The crossbow bolt struck just above his left eye but did not penetrate his skull. He received medical treatment and was eventually released from the hospital to continue recovering. The suspect also survived after being airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds. Authorities later arrested him and charged him with first-degree felony aggravated assault on a public servant. Shot in the Face by a Man With a Crossbow. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. A Texas jury found the man guilty on June 23, 2021. He reportedly received a sentence of approximately 60 years in prison. The verdict provided legal accountability, but a criminal conviction could not erase what happened. Lee still had to live with the physical and psychological consequences of being attacked at close range. The public often sees an injured officer's photograph, reads a short update, and moves on to the next headline. The officer and family cannot move on so quickly. Recovery may include pain, medical appointments, disrupted sleep, anxiety, anger, intrusive memories, and the unsettling awareness that an ordinary workday nearly ended a life. The visible injury may heal while the emotional effects continue in private. That hidden side of survival became one of the driving themes behind Scars of the Badge. Before the Crossbow: A Career-Altering Setback Lee's law enforcement journey was not defined by a straight line of promotions and accomplishments. Before serving with the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, he worked for a university police department. That position ended after a controversy involving his speed while pursuing a vehicle during a traffic stop. Being fired could have ended his police career. It could also have permanently defined the way he viewed himself. Instead, the setback became part of a longer story about mistakes, consequences, perseverance, and second chances. The episode adds important context to Lee's memoir. Scars of the Badge is not presented as the story of a flawless officer. Its power comes from a more honest premise: a badge does not protect the person wearing it from failure, trauma, doubt, or the need for redemption. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. The book's subtitle identifies its central themes with three carefully chosen words: “Faith, Trauma, and Redemption.” Lee's earlier firing and later crossbow ambush were very different events, but both forced him to confront uncertainty about his future. One threatened his professional identity. The other threatened his life. In each case, continuing required more than physical toughness. The Emotional Weight Behind the Badge During more than 23 years of service, Lee responded to tragedy, violence, crisis, and human suffering. Each call carried the possibility of leaving a mark. Law enforcement officers are expected to remain composed while others are experiencing the worst moments of their lives. They see injured children, grieving families, violent suspects, fatal crashes, suicides, abuse, addiction, and mental illness. They may be threatened, attacked, or forced to use deadly force. Then they are expected to finish the report, clear the call, and remain ready for whatever comes next. The accumulated effects are not always obvious. An officer may appear calm at work while becoming distant at home. Sleep may become difficult. Patience may shorten. A sound, smell, location, or routine call may trigger a memory of a previous tragedy. Shot in the Face by a Man With a Crossbow. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast continues bringing listeners real conversations from the front lines of crime, policing, trauma, survival, and healing. Lee's experience gave him an especially vivid example of that burden. Being shot in the face with a crossbow was not merely an unusual headline. It was an event that affected his body, mind, faith, family, and understanding of service. “Survival is not always the end of the incident. Sometimes it is the beginning of the recovery.” That truth applies far beyond Lee's case. Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, corrections officers, military veterans, and other first responders may survive an attack or traumatic event while continuing to struggle with its effects for years. Writing Scars of the Badge in Five Weeks Lee eventually turned his experiences into Scars of the Badge: Faith, Trauma, and Redemption Behind the Thin Blue Line. Released in May, the memoir offers a candid examination of the emotional, psychological, and spiritual challenges that can accompany a law enforcement career. It explores the difficulty of responding to tragedy and violence while also trying to remain present for family, maintain faith, and continue serving the public. The book came together with surprising speed. Lee told noon anchor Patrina Adger that it took him only five weeks to write. That rapid process suggests the material had been accumulating for years. The words may have reached the page in a little more than a month, but the experiences behind them were shaped across decades. The crossbow attack is a central part of the memoir, yet the book reaches beyond a single incident. It examines what happens when the uniform comes home with the officer, when the demands of the job influence relationships, beliefs, emotions, and identity. Since its release, Scars of the Badge has received numerous five-star reader reviews and attracted interest from law enforcement professionals, first responders, and faith-based audiences. Its appeal is understandable. Lee's story contains an extraordinary attack, but its deeper themes are widely relatable: failure, fear, perseverance, faith, forgiveness, and the search for meaning after trauma. Why the Title Matters The phrase “scars of the badge” describes more than the injury above Lee's left eye. Some scars are physical and immediately visible. Others appear as nightmares, strained relationships, anxiety, spiritual questions, or memories that refuse to remain in the past. The badge represents service and authority, but it can also carry personal costs rarely seen by the public. Lee's memoir challenges the idea that courage means remaining unaffected. Real courage may involve acknowledging the wound, asking difficult questions, seeking help, reconnecting with faith, and deciding that trauma will not write the final chapter. Redemption is equally important to the story. Lee experienced a career setback before rebuilding his place in law enforcement. Years later, after surviving the crossbow attack, he again had to determine what came next. The book does not treat redemption as the erasure of the past. Instead, it frames redemption as the process of using painful experiences to create something that may help others. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin. The Complicated Reality of Mental Health Calls The 2019 attack also highlights the complexity of law enforcement's role in mental health crises. The suspect's family asked for assistance. Lee responded as a mental health liaison deputy alongside a caseworker. The purpose of the visit was intervention, not punishment. Yet the situation became violent. That does not mean every mental health call is dangerous or that people living with mental illness should be treated as threats. Most are not violent. It does mean responders must balance compassion, de-escalation, treatment needs, family concerns, and safety in circumstances that can shift rapidly. Lee's case demonstrates why cooperation between law enforcement agencies, clinicians, crisis workers, families, and community services is so important. It also shows why mental health responders need training, communication tools, protective strategies, and adequate resources. No approach can eliminate every danger. The crossbow ambush was a brutal reminder of that limitation. From Local News to a National Podcast Audience Lee's story first emerged through local News coverage, but the lessons extend well beyond Hardin County, Texas. Through the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, audiences can hear the larger story behind the headline. The conversation explores the crossbow attack, the force Lee used to stop the suspect, the criminal case, his recovery, his earlier firing, and the faith that helped him continue. The interview is available on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and other major Podcast platforms. Additional clips, articles, and episode information can be shared through Facebook, Instagram, and other Social Media channels. Those platforms give listeners an opportunity to look beyond a dramatic headline and understand the human being behind it. A Story About More Than Survival Tom Lee could easily be remembered only as the Texas deputy who was shot in the face by a man with a crossbow. That description is accurate, but incomplete. He is also an officer who endured a humiliating career setback and found a way forward. He is a mental health liaison deputy who responded to help a family and nearly lost his life. He is a survivor who returned fire under unimaginable circumstances. He is an author who transformed decades of pain, service, and reflection into a book written in five weeks. Shot in the Face by a Man With a Crossbow. The show is distributed through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and other podcast platforms. Its interviews are also promoted across Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels. Most importantly, his story asks a question relevant to anyone who has experienced failure or trauma: What will the person do with the scars? Lee chose to tell the truth about them. Scars of the Badge: Faith, Trauma, and Redemption Behind the Thin Blue Line does not present survival as a clean ending. It presents recovery as a continuing process, one shaped by faith, family, accountability, and the willingness to speak openly about what the badge can cost. His physical wound became visible evidence of an extraordinary attack. His memoir reveals the less visible wounds and the lessons that followed. The full interview with Sheriff's Sergeant Tom Lee is featured on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. Listeners can find the episode on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and other major podcast platforms, with additional content on Facebook, Instagram, and Social Media. The attack lasted only moments. A reported Iranian assassination threat against Donald Trump led to an extraordinary security operation following a NATO summit in Turkey, according to new reporting discussed in this episode. The account describes a complex deception involving multiple aircraft, a decoy Air Force One, and an effort to conceal the president’s actual movements from potential adversaries. The story has sparked debate over presidential security, government secrecy, and the seriousness of threats directed at the commander in chief. The hosts argue that the operation demonstrates the extent of the risks facing the president and highlights the challenges involved in protecting national leaders from foreign threats. In this episode Ben examines reporting from the Washington Post describing how security officials allegedly moved Donald Trump from a publicly observed aircraft to a separate military jet using an airport catering truck as part of a broader deception plan. They discuss the reported Iranian threat, media reaction to the operation, the role of secrecy in presidential protection, and the broader national security implications raised by the incident. Topics Covered: Reported Iranian assassination threat against Donald Trump Security operation following the NATO summit in Turkey Use of a decoy Air Force One aircraft and alternate transport methods Reporting from the Washington Post and coverage by CNN Debate over secrecy, deception, and presidential security protocols Broader concerns about Iran and U.S. national security The Bottom Line: Ben Ferguson argues that the reported operation demonstrates how seriously U.S. security officials viewed the threat environment surrounding Donald Trump and defends the use of secrecy and deception as necessary tools for presidential protectionPlease Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. In this episode of Selective Ignorance, Mandii B is joined by super producer A-King and headline king Jason “Jah” Lee for a wide-ranging conversation exploring politics, current events, media, sports, internet culture, and accountability. Mandii opens the show by previewing another packed episode [ 00:38 ]. After introducing the producers and celebrating a birthday [ 03:02 ], the crew eases into the conversation with playful banter about Spanish language skills, cultural identity, respectability politics, and internet clapbacks [ 03:25 ][ 07:22 ][ 08:25 ]. Mandii's signature "Ignorant Take" argues that society has lost its sense of humor, using the story of a Welsh man arrested for standing on a hospital roof dressed as the Grim Reaper as an example of where comedy collides with public outrage [ 11:47 ]. That conversation expands after reacting to a viral Tourette syndrome traffic stop video [ 17:42 ], before debating fake medical emergencies, cheating, and the ethics of manipulating sympathy [ 22:56 ]. The segment concludes with discussion surrounding a fatal altercation inside a Tim Hortons, where a 75-year-old customer later died after suffering a medical episode during a fight, prompting questions about accountability, escalation, and public responsibility [ 25:34 ]. In "This Is America," the crew return to the Nolan Wells case, providing updates after reports that the official autopsy has been presented to a grand jury [ 28:15 ]. The crew discusses the complications surrounding a second autopsy after several organs were removed, debating how those limitations may affect future legal proceedings while examining whether responsibility extends beyond visible injuries alone [ 32:44 ]. The conversation then pivots toward national politics as the hosts examine growing momentum among progressive candidates heading into the upcoming midterm elections [ 34:16 ], before reacting to Cory Booker's criticism of Democratic leadership, political corruption, and institutional complacency [ 36:28 ]. They also unpack conversations surrounding AIPAC, campaign influence, and congressional term limits [ 40:13 ], while debating how progressive politicians are packaged, marketed, and received by voters [ 46:03 ]. Politics remains front and center as the crew reacts to a viral interview featuring Miami restaurateur Chef Creole, who publicly expressed regret over supporting Donald Trump after changes affecting Temporary Protected Status (TPS) created staffing challenges for his business [ 48:23 ]. That conversation expands into a broader discussion about immigration policy, voter expectations, and political consequences, particularly within immigrant communities [50:28 ]. The episode then shifts to sports and culture after former NBA players Enes Kanter and Royce White announce plans to declare for the WNBA, framing the move as a challenge to existing gender eligibility policies [ 58:46 ]. The hosts debate the broader implications for women's sports, gender identity, fairness, and public discourse [ 01:04:21], while also discussing reactions surrounding Sophie Cunningham [ 01:08:11 ] and examining whether most fans are genuinely invested in the debate or simply engaging with another viral controversy [ 01:11:49 ][ 01:13:10 ]. Closing out the episode, Mandii, A-King and Jah turn their attention to Kenny Smith's third marriage, discussing age gaps, prenuptial agreements, and the financial realities of modern marriage [ 01:14:11 ][ 01:15:31][ 01:17:48 ]. The conversation then shifts to the tragic case of a 24-year-old woman accused of scamming professional athletes who was later found dead in a New Jersey swimming pool, prompting reflections on internet fame, crime, and personal accountability [ 01:18:38 ]. The episode concludes with reactions to A$AP Rocky publicly distancing himself from a graphic designer after a private direct message was shared online, leading to a broader conversation about privacy, clout chasing, professional boundaries, and trust in the social media era [ 01:20:57 ][01:27:14 ]. Wrapping with final thoughts and shoutouts [ 01:35:18 ], the crew delivers another thought-provoking episode blending humor, politics, sports, internet culture, and the complex conversations shaping today's headlines. CW: This episode is about a domestic violence situation that includes discussion of multiple instances of physical and emotional abuse. Some of this discussion is graphic. Our thoughts are with Heidi, her family, and the Rodrigues children as well as anybody who has suffered intimate partner violence or child abuse under fundamentalism. Please do not mistake the tone of this video for us minimizing that in any way. What Timothy admitted to is a serious crime against his wife.In today's episode, we discuss the confession Tim Rodrigues made in a Facebook post, in which he admitted to violently abusing his wife, , Heidi, accused his father, David, of child abuse during his upbringing, and asked for forgiveness as he seeks to regain the trust of his wife and his family. This post received attention from friends and family members, most notably Heidi's family members who were understandably very angry at him for his abuse of their loved one, for his violation of her privacy in posting details publicly, and for his perceived motivations in publishing his confession, which they saw as highly manipulative.Following this public fallout, Jill Rodrigues announced her departure from social media.Sadie is a Certified Domestic Violence advocate in the State of Oregon. Sleep Anxiety and OCD: How Carly Broke the Hypnic Jerk Loop and Learned to Trust Her Body AgainIf bedtime fills you with dread, if you've started dreading the sunset, or if hypnic jerks have turned falling asleep into a nightly battle, this episode is for you. Matt Codde, LCSW sits down with Carly, a member of the Restored Minds community, to talk honestly about what it's like to live inside a sleep anxiety loop, and what actually got her out of it.Carly walks through her own descent into relentless hypnic jerks, the compulsions she didn't even realize were compulsions (bedtime routines built on fear, checking the clock, seeking reassurance from her husband), and the belief that was quietly running the whole show: that a bad night of sleep meant a ruined day. This isn't a sleep hygiene episode. It's a conversation about fear, control, and what it actually means to trust your body to do what it already knows how to do.

At Spirit Fest in Virginia Beach, Will and Karen sit down with Amiee Gibson of The Hidden Court of Heka, a luxury ritual perfume house built entirely around one Egyptian concept: that words, spoken, written, or simply held in the heart, are magic.Amiee walks through her three "chambers," each a scent world built around a different sense of belonging, from resin-and-rose blends to a dream-enhancing floral chamber of blue tansy and jasmine. She explains why her perfumes age for eight to twelve weeks before they're ready, how a jojoba-oil base gives them a two-year shelf life, and the small ritual trick that can stretch a single application to last all day.The conversation turns personal and a little spooky when Amiee describes her handmade spirit boards, each one warded, engraved with an original incantation, and designed to be used alone rather than with a group, a deliberate departure from the Ouija boards most people grew up fearing. It's a conversation about intention, craft, and the old idea that what you speak, you become.Guest: Amiee Gibson, The Hidden Court of HekaFind her: hiddencourtofhekka.comThe Skeptic Metaphysicians is a spiritual awakening podcast for open-minded thinkers who refuse to check their critical thinking at the door. Originally aired April 8, 2025 "Every part of us, even the ones we've been taught to reject, holds the potential for growth and healing." – Mili Shoemaker Aggression in the playroom is a familiar topic—but what happens when it's not coming from the child, but from within us as therapists? This is a conversation we rarely hear in the play therapy world, yet it's a reality many therapists silently grapple with. In this eye-opening episode, Lisa sits down with Mili Shoemaker, a seasoned play therapist, Synergetic Play Therapy trainer, and clinical supervisor, to explore what it means when therapists feel their own aggression arise in session. With honesty and compassion, Lisa and Mili unpack the discomfort, shame, and stigma that often accompany these experiences. They dive into the protective patterns that emerge when we try to suppress these feelings, and how true healing begins when we stop rejecting these parts of ourselves. Together, Lisa and Mili explore: ✨ The taboo of therapist aggression – Why this conversation is missing in the play therapy world and why it needs to be heard. ✨ Recognizing therapist activation – How to notice when your own history, protective mechanisms, and triggers show up in the playroom. ✨ Befriending aggression – How shifting from judgment to curiosity about our own aggressive parts creates deeper therapeutic presence. ✨ Embodied expression vs. catharsis – Why aggression isn't something to suppress, but also isn't about explosive release. ✨ The unmet needs beneath aggression – Understanding what these feelings are signaling and how to meet them with self-compassion. ✨ Breaking free from shame – How to reframe aggression as part of our full humanity rather than something to fear or reject. ✨ Integration and authenticity – Why making space for all parts of ourselves strengthens our ability to hold space for our clients. This episode is an invitation to step into a conversation that has been long overdue—to acknowledge, explore, and ultimately embrace a part of ourselves that holds the potential for healing and growth.

In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson analyze the rise of democratic socialism within Democratic politics, debate anti-Israel activism on the left, examine comments from AOC and other progressive figures, and discuss the growing controversy over gender eligibility rules in women’s sports and the WNBA. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and their growing influence inside the Democratic Party take center stage in this episode, alongside a heated debate over gender eligibility in women’s sports. Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson examine comments from a DSA leader on taxation, socialism, Israel, and the future direction of the political left. They discuss a recent interview with a DSA co-chair, focusing on the organization’s views on wealth, capitalism, and Israel. Cruz argues that the movement’s policies reflect a broader ideological shift within progressive politics and raises concerns about the DSA’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The conversation then turns to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, progressive media figures, and the struggle for influence among younger voters inside the modern Democratic coalition. Cruz and Ferguson debate whether increasingly radical political rhetoric is becoming mainstream within parts of the left. The second half of the episode focuses on women’s sports and a new controversy involving former NBA players publicly declaring interest in WNBA eligibility under current gender identity policies. The hosts discuss fairness in competition, reactions from sports leaders, comments from President Donald Trump, and the broader national debate surrounding transgender participation in athletics. Topics Covered: Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and its policy agenda Taxation, socialism, and critiques of capitalism Israel, Hamas, and debate over a one-state solution Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and progressive political coalitions WNBA eligibility rules and transgender athlete controversies Clay Travis, Enes Freedom, and fairness in women’s sports The Bottom Line: Senator Cruz argues that the DSA represents a growing ideological force within the Democratic Party and contends that its positions on capitalism and Israel are increasingly influential. He and Ferguson also argue that women’s sports organizations will face mounting pressure to clarify eligibility standards as the transgender athlete debate continues. Did Perez Hilton suffer a mental breakdown, or was he possessed by a demon? Allie dives into how the blogger and media personality was hospitalized on August 4 due to severe self-harm and his unstable mental state. Hilton claimed to be a Christian afterward, but some things don't add up. Allie discusses the question of whether or not a believer can be possessed by a demon and if what Perez Hilton is experiencing is demonic possession or the result of living in sin. Allie also looks at Ariana Grande's new music video “Petal,” examining the glorification of gore and her sickly state. Both Hilton and Grande exemplify what life without Christ looks like and show that true healing can only be found in him. Allie also talks about Jackie Oshry, co-host of the podcast “The Toast,” who made her appearance on second lady Usha Vance's podcast promoting her new children's book, despite receiving a lot of backlash. Conversely, Nara Smith disowned her "tradwife" persona that made her who she is during an appearance on “Call Her Daddy.” Allie also answers a voicemail asking about first-time obedience. Abdul El-Sayed got caught on camera saying he “hates Mackinac so much.” Not a joke. Not a throwaway line. Straight hate for one of the most iconic places in Michigan. Mackinac Island is car-free and has horse-drawn carriages, Victorian hotels, fudge shops — the whole deal. A million people visit every year. El-Sayed walked through it during his old governor's run, noted that if he won, it would be the governor's summer home, and he still couldn't hide how much he can't stand it. His response? The most American place in Michigan can't ban cars. This is the same progressive running for Senate who claims to fight for regular people while openly sneering at a place those people actually love. When candidates talk about your state like it's beneath them, it tells you everything. Pat also covered: • Puerto Rico rationing water as severe drought hits the U.S. territory. • Kamala Harris tries to explain the SAVE America Act … and completely fails. • Progressive Democrats scramble to distance themselves from Hasan Piker. • Mamdani's new pilot program tells New York parents to leave kids at the park with strangers? • Day 58: Mitch is still missing, but we meet his in-home caregiver. Does hating Mackinac Island matter when you're asking Michigan for a Senate seat? Have you ever watched a politician talk about a place you love like it's a joke? Today on The Gist, guest host Bryan Green shares a classic 2019 interview with comedian, writer, and host Larry Wilmore. Wilmore reflects on his podcast Black on the Air, the reality of the medium, and the freedom of moving beyond narrowly defined racial content. He and Mike Pesca discuss mentorship, the limits of "woke" cultural criticism, and why using comedy as a tool for political activism misunderstands the point of the craft. Finally, in the spiel, Mike examines why governments struggle to account for pleasure in cost-benefit analyses of vices, from alcohol during pregnancy to e-cigarettes as a form of harm reduction. Finding a mentor often brings immense pressure, especially when you realize you have no idea what you're actually looking for - or worse, who to trust with your growth. If you've ever felt the tension of wanting to grow as a leader but feeling stuck, this episode is for you. In Day 2 of our mentoring series, Amy Ayala and I went deep into the "heart" of mentorship. It's not just about who has the biggest platform or the most followers on social media; it's about character, resilience, and that prophetic "X-factor" that you can't teach. Amy and I talked openly about the importance of being "seen" by a mentor and why loyalty, honor, and the willingness to put in the "reps" are what actually prepare you for your next season. Whether you are looking to be mentored or you are ready to start pouring into someone else, we're breaking down what it actually looks like to lead well. You cannot be what you don't see, so let's talk about how to open your eyes to the right potential. Tag us @biancajuarezofficial and @amylynnettee on social and tell me your biggest takeaway. In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Cruz and Ben break down the week's biggest political stories, assess debates shaping the Democratic Party, examine the controversy surrounding government-run grocery stores in New York City, and discuss reports that Democratic attorneys general coordinated legal challenges to Donald Trump before his return to office. A new Democratic Senate candidate in Maine, a proposal for government-run grocery stores in New York City, and newly reported coordination among Democratic attorneys general before the 2024 election are at the center of this Week in Review. Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson revisit several of the stories that generated the most discussion during the week and explain why they believe those developments could have broader political consequences. The episode begins with the Maine Senate race, where Cruz and Ferguson argue that Democratic leaders replaced one controversial candidate with another who shares many of the same ideological positions. They discuss reactions from national Democratic figures and examine what those endorsements reveal about the direction of the party. The conversation then shifts to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's proposal for government-run grocery stores. Cruz and Ferguson review details from a public request-for-proposal document, debate the logistics of operating city-backed stores, and question whether the model could achieve its stated goals without creating new costs and complications. The episode also highlights commentary from figures including Bill Maher and Van Jones, whose recent remarks are presented as evidence of growing debate within Democratic circles about the party's future direction and messaging. In the final segment, Cruz and Ferguson discuss a report alleging that a coalition of Democratic attorneys general began preparing legal strategies against a potential second Trump administration months before the 2024 election. They examine the timeline, the lawsuits that followed, and what they believe it says about the political and legal battles surrounding President Donald Trump. Topics Covered: The Maine Senate race and Democratic candidate Troy Jackson National Democratic reactions to controversial candidates Zohran Mamdani's government-run grocery store proposal Public procurement and operational concerns in New York City Bill Maher and Van Jones on the future of the Democratic Party Reports of coordinated legal action by Democratic attorneys general against Donald Trump Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Cruz and Ben Ferguson discuss a Senate hearing focused on the Muslim Brotherhood, allegations of ties between certain advocacy organizations and Islamist movements, the Democratic primary victory of Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, cultural controversies surrounding James Talarico's Texas Senate campaign, and reports that Democratic attorneys general coordinated legal strategies against Donald Trump before the 2024 election was decided. They examine the political implications of these developments and argue that each reflects larger battles over national security, cultural values, and the future direction of American politics. A Senate hearing on the Muslim Brotherhood and its alleged influence in the United States sparks controversy after Democratic members of the subcommittee decline to attend. The discussion raises questions about national security, political alliances, and how terrorism-related concerns are being debated in Washington. The episode also examines newly surfaced campaign footage involving James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, and a broader debate over cultural issues, LGBTQ events, and the role of identity politics in modern campaigns. Finally, attention turns to documents reported to show coordination among Democratic state attorneys general to prepare legal challenges against Donald Trump prior to his return to office, raising questions about lawfare, federal authority, and the political use of litigation. Topics Covered: Senate hearing on the Muslim Brotherhood and Democratic boycott of the proceeding Testimony regarding CARE, the Holy Land Foundation, and terrorism-related allegations discussed at the hearing Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and concerns raised by hearing witnesses about organizational ties James Talarico's Texas Senate campaign and controversy surrounding participation in a Pride event Reports of coordinated litigation planning by Democratic attorneys general against Donald Trump Debate over national security, political coalitions, and the use of legal challenges in partisan conflicts Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now.
