What if the pain you've been carrying isn't just physical? What if your body has been trying to speak to you this whole time?Soreya James has spent 35 years answering that question. A trauma survivor, spiritual rebel, and creator of a precise healing technology that blends ancient yogic science with modern therapeutic tools, Soreya has led over 30 global retreats, survived three near-death experiences, and sat with people at the very edge of life. What she brings to this conversation isn't theory, it's a life lived all the way through. In this episode, Lyndsay sits down with Soreya to talk about what it really takes to transcend pain and suffering. They go into her early encounter with trauma at 19, how she found her calling in a room full of people the world had written off, and the years she spent in India studying with masters, yogis, and gurus. They also get into the harder things — sexual abuse, the cost of forgiveness, being targeted as a cult leader, and what women in midlife actually need to hear. But at the heart of this episode is one core message: you are not broken. Your body is communicating. And healing may begin the moment you finally get still enough to hear it.Tune in for a powerful discussion on trauma, consciousness, chronic pain, subconscious healing, and what it really means to come home to yourself.Episode Highlights:(00:00) Introduction to the Pain Game Podcast(02:30) The Impact of Childhood Trauma on Chronic Pain(10:15) Shape-Shifting Identities and Seeking Validation(15:50) Soreya's Journey and the Turning Point Event(22:10) The Power of Silence and Listening to the Body(30:45) Navigating Menopause and Societal Narratives(37:20) Authentic Intelligence vs. AI(45:00) The Importance of Personal Responsibility in Healing(52:30) Soreya's Interactive Book and Upcoming PodcastFind Soreya James Online Here:Website: soreyajames.comInstagram: @soreyajamesLinkedIn: Soreya JamesBook: MetamorphosisFind The Pain Game Podcast Online Here:Website: thepaingamepodcast.comInstagram: @thepaingamepodcastFacebook: The Pain Game PodcastLinkedIn: Lyndsay SopranoYouTube: The Pain Game PodcastSubscribe on YouTube | Merch Shop is OPEN!! | COMING SOON: The Pain Hub - A Women's Healing Community. As healers, we understand clinical work. We know how to help what hurts in our clients. But very few of us are taught how to build a business at all - much less one that genuinely fits who we are.Today, I'm joined by somatic coach & educator Chelsea Horton for a rich conversation about creativity, embodiment, and building a private practice around an unconventional modality — dance and movement therapy — without losing what makes it unique in the first place.Chelsea is the founder of Healing Embodied, where she trains therapists, coaches, and wellness professionals to integrate somatic work, nervous system healing, creativity, and emotional processing into the way they serve clients. But this conversation goes far beyond somatic work. What struck me most about her story is this: while her work is deeply intuitive and body-centered, she is also incredibly thoughtful and strategic in the way she has built her business. (Though I'm not sure she even realized that until this convo.)She didn't just “follow her passion.” Nope.She paid attention to outcomes, listened closely to client feedback, developed a unique methodology, refined her messaging, created a progression of offers, and intentionally positioned herself as what she calls a “category of one.”Oh my beating heart.

What if intimacy isn't primarily about sex — but about safety, presence, vulnerability, and finally feeling at home inside your own body? In this deeply honest episode, Kristin sits down with intimacy practitioner and surrogate partner therapist, Andre Lazarus, for a powerful conversation about touch, nervous system regulation, neurodivergence, masking, dissociation, body image, trauma, and what it actually means to feel emotionally safe with another human being.Andre shares how his work helps people reconnect with themselves through breath, somatic awareness, relational safety, and compassionate presence — especially those navigating late-diagnosed autism, ADHD, trauma histories, body dysmorphia, intimacy challenges, and emotional shutdown. Together they explore:• Why so many neurodivergent people struggle with intimacy and physical connection• The relationship between masking and disconnection from the body• Dissociation, vaginismus, shutdown, and nervous-system protection• Why intimacy is often about vulnerability more than sexuality• The importance of communication over “mind reading” in relationships• Somatic intuition and learning to trust the body's signals• Emotional safety, touch, and relational healing• Why compassion matters more than performanceThis episode is gentle, grounded, emotionally rich, and deeply validating for anyone who has ever felt “too much,” disconnected, guarded, touch-starved, or unsure how to fully let another person in.About Andre Lazarus:Andre Lazarus is an intimacy practitioner, sex educator, and surrogate partner therapist specializing in sacred intimacy, somatic connection, vulnerability, emotional healing, and relational growth. This is not a story about something that happened once. This is a story about what the body carries when the mind cannot. In this episode, Aspen Michael shares his lived experience of memory returning in midlife—after decades of success, stability, and a life that, by all appearances, was fully intact. At 52, everything changed. What had been held outside of awareness began to surface through the body, through collapse, through fragments that refused to stay buried. What follows is not a linear narrative, but a reconstruction of self. Aspen speaks to the reality of sexual abuse and institutional harm within the Catholic Church—not as theory, not as commentary, but as something he lived through, survived, and later pursued through legal channels. He describes what it means to have memory come back in pieces, to navigate dissociation, to lose the structure of a life that once made sense, and to rebuild without a clear map. This conversation does not rush to resolution. It moves through what it actually takes to face something the mind once protected you from—the disorientation, the physical toll, the unraveling of identity, and the long, deliberate process of putting yourself back together. There is no performance here. No clean arc. Only a man speaking from the place where healing becomes a daily decision. We talk about the nervous system, about fragmentation, about what it means to reclaim your body after it has held what you could not name. We talk about support, about the difference between surviving and actually healing, and about the quiet, often invisible work required to come back to yourself. And underneath all of it, there is something else: Not redemption. Not resolution. But a refusal to disappear.Aspen Michael is a former Chief Technology Officer turned trauma survivor, advocate, speaker. and healer also focused on his own healing, memory recovery, and nervous system restoration. Today, Aspen shares his lived experience to help others understand complex trauma, dissociation, and the long path back to wholeness. His work centers on the power of daily healing practices, supportive community, and reclaiming personal agency. In addition to his advocacy, Aspen is also a jewelry designer and founder of energyoftribe.com, where he creates handcrafted pieces infused with intention, grounding energy, and symbolic meaning. Imagine having a deep and difficult conversation with your loved ones which enables acceptance and forgiveness while freeing you all from shame, sadness, and dysfunction. Imagine what it would feel like to be the chain-breaker in your family. But what if you don't want to have that conversation? Or it isn't possible due to bereavement, estrangement, or adoption (or any other reason for that matter)? Family Constellation Therapy makes it possible to do the work regardless of the many reasons you might not want, or be able to broach difficult issues with your family. You don't even have to KNOW who your family is. In today's episode, I speak to Family Constellations Facilitator, Sound Therapist, Yoga and Pilates teacher, and talented singer/songwriter, Karis Bunney, who has been constellating me for the past 18-24 months. Constellating your family system can not only reveal the root cause of some of the issues and beliefs that burden you, but allow you to forgive and heal generational wounds, so you are liberated from the “disturbances” of the past, enabling yourself and future generations to continue on a pathway of growth. During this episode, Karis explains what happens during a Family Constellation session, how it works, how it can free you, and theorises on the magic that makes it all happen. We also candidly share our personal experiences and invite you to think about how this transformational, transgenerational therapy could benefit you and your future generations. Ask yourself: Have you been caught in a feedback loop, repeating past patterns with no idea WHY it is so deeply ingrained in your subconscious? Do you recognise unhealthy behaviours/ideas/beliefs you want to change but don't know where they are rooted? Are you conscious of repeating family patterns and desperate not to make the same mistakes your parents/relatives did? If you answered yes to any of the above, this episode is for you.
