Imagine having a deep and difficult conversation with your loved ones which enables acceptance and forgiveness while freeing you all from shame, sadness, and dysfunction. Imagine what it would feel like to be the chain-breaker in your family. But what if you don't want to have that conversation? Or it isn't possible due to bereavement, estrangement, or adoption (or any other reason for that matter)? Family Constellation Therapy makes it possible to do the work regardless of the many reasons you might not want, or be able to broach difficult issues with your family. You don't even have to KNOW who your family is. In today's episode, I speak to Family Constellations Facilitator, Sound Therapist, Yoga and Pilates teacher, and talented singer/songwriter, Karis Bunney, who has been constellating me for the past 18-24 months. Constellating your family system can not only reveal the root cause of some of the issues and beliefs that burden you, but allow you to forgive and heal generational wounds, so you are liberated from the “disturbances” of the past, enabling yourself and future generations to continue on a pathway of growth. During this episode, Karis explains what happens during a Family Constellation session, how it works, how it can free you, and theorises on the magic that makes it all happen. We also candidly share our personal experiences and invite you to think about how this transformational, transgenerational therapy could benefit you and your future generations. Ask yourself: Have you been caught in a feedback loop, repeating past patterns with no idea WHY it is so deeply ingrained in your subconscious? Do you recognise unhealthy behaviours/ideas/beliefs you want to change but don't know where they are rooted? Are you conscious of repeating family patterns and desperate not to make the same mistakes your parents/relatives did? If you answered yes to any of the above, this episode is for you. Alé emphasizes the importance of going beyond mere behavior management and equipping children with the tools they need to override the algorithms designed to keep them glued to their screens.   Whether you're a parent, therapist, educator, or caregiver, this episode offering you strategies for approaching technology through the lens of neuroscience and psychology is one you won't want to miss!       LEARN MORE ABOUT ALÉ DUARTE: https://www.aleduarte.com/   RESERVE YOUR SPOT IN HIS TRAINING SERIES, SCREEN MASTERS: Live Classes start on Thursday May 23, 2024

Why are somatic flow breathwork techniques crucial for coaches and healers? The body has all the answers; well, most of them. Every fiber of our bodies hold intelligence, wisdom, and depth - much of which we have forgotten how to interpret over time. Coaches and healers who are focusing heavily on mindset, linear, logical, and systematic ways of healing, are missing the important mind-body link - THE BREATH.  Somatic flow breathwork techniques help you go deeper, faster. You can get to the ROOT of the issue rather than focusing on the symptoms. The roots your clients' issues are deeply seeded in the subconscious mind, which is often difficult to surface from techniques like talk therapy and mindset shifts. Somatic flow breathwork techniques emphasize the connection between the body and the mind. They recognize that our physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts are interconnected and influence one another. By incorporating somatic flow breathwork, coaches and healers can help clients develop a deeper awareness of this mind-body connection, fostering a holistic approach to healing, personal development, nervous system regulation, emotional regulation, and more. She nurtures regenerative social, economic and spiritual systems that call us into harmony with ourselves and nature. Diane is deeply initiated and devoted to multiple nature-based spiritual traditions in both Central Africa and South America. She is curator at Noma Collective and co-director of Cacao Love, a regenerative organic cacao company funding her non-profit ‘Afrocosmic', which invests in the cultural and spiritual sovereignty of African and indigenous wisdom keepers and artists around the world. Amisha and Diane speak about the sovereign regenerative community and retreat space Diane is co-creating in Watamu, Kenya. Rooted in collaboration with the local ecosystems the community embraces ancestral architecture, agroforestry, permaculture and the life-giving powers of spiritual and cultural traditions.  Diane shares experiences gathered during her life's journey across different cultures in search of embodying her highest purpose :: joy and pleasure. She reveals her calling led her to live in the mountains of Argentina, Osho communes in Brazil, to sit with plant medicines, such as Ayahuasca in South America, to multiple initiations and experiences with Iboga in the Bwiti tradition in Gabon, and time studying  Afro Cosmic Spiritual traditions with the Baka people in Cameroun. They share that understanding our cosmology and anchoring ourselves into sovereign communities is the antidote to destructive monocultures that have stripped us bare of our fertile relationships with the land and the cosmos. We learn that cultivating our erotic powers of pleasure and joy causes revolutionary ripples that animates cosmology and reciprocity. It is a way of bringing us into synergies with ancestral technologies and wisdoms that can unify our communities in cultural, spiritual and economic sovereignty ultimately transforming destructive systems of colonial legacies. Somatic healing is a holistic, often spiritual, and mindful approach to health and well-being that focuses on the body, mind, and spirit. It combines meditation, mindfulness, and physical exercises to help individuals become more aware of their emotional and physical states. This has endless benefits to the improvement of sleep, wellness, increased self-esteem, and cultivating strong and healthy coping mechanisms. A lot of these benefits start with practicing self-compassion in the depths of life's struggles.  There is a strong connection between our emotions and our symptoms and it's amazing how we can heal our symptoms by working on inner healing. If you're longing to heal your mind, heal your inner child, and Awaken the Power of Your True Self then this is the episode for you, Rebecca shares so much of her wisdom and I'm sure you'll step away revived and ready to start your somatic healing process!

You may struggle to identify your dreams, desires and needs and wonder how you came to this place.  Codependency is why this is happening. While it's healthy to lean on your partner from time to time, abandoning yourself in the process is not ideal. If you struggle with playing the role of the caregiver, you know this dance all too well. Most of us have lost pieces of ourselves in a relationship; it can happen to anybody. This episode uncovers why we tend to lose ourselves, where codependency originates from, why it's essential to maintain individuation in relationships, and how a conscious relationship works. Tune in to this episode and discover how to return to yourself whether you're in a relationship.   Highlights: (002:02) All About the ‘Alchemy' Program (06:42) The root of codependency (10:25) The desire to be saved (12:30) Why is it so important to individuate? “Many sexual trauma survivors went into a freeze state.. And so there's this sense of ‘My body betrayed me, and I don't want to be in this body, but I'm stuck here, so I'm going to do the best job I can to not be here.' And that is the ultimate disconnection. So what we're going for is to start to reconnect that, just a little bit at a time, maybe at first just with questions and guidance, and little by little, help you start to recognize that your body is an ally in this process of healing. And in fact, because it was the site of the crime, it's also the site of immense healing. And until you can actually feel that, there are things you can't heal. There are things you can't heal with words because words weren't what injured you.”   In this conversation, Molly and regular special guest Sarah Brennan share their perspective on the role of touch in healing from sexual trauma. Some of the themes they explore are: The power of safe touch. Doing TO the body or making the body DO versus feeling, experiencing, and listening to the body with genuine curiosity. The body as key to healing injuries that were (and continue to be) experienced in the body. Feeling betrayed by the body's response to assault or violation. Feeling subtle sensations again (or for the first time) after only being able to feel extreme sensations or numbing out or being hypervigilant - or any combination of the aforementioned strategic adaptations.    “People who are terrified need to get a sense of where their bodies are in space and of their boundaries.  Firm and reassuring touch lets them know where those boundaries are: what's outside them, where their bodies end. They discover they do not need to constantly wonder who and where they are. They discover their body is solid and they do not have to constantly be on guard. Touch lets them know they are safe.” ~Bessel Van Der Kolk -------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE to the show to be the first to hear about new episodes!   Contact Sarah: www.theembodyconnection.com // sarah@theembodyconnection.com   Contact Molly: www.theembodyconnection.com // molly@theembodyconnection.com   Book: The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Van Der Kolk   -------------------------------------------- Special thanks to:   Jenn Baykan, content creation for somatic based healers: https://www.jbaykan.com/   Dave Hiltebrand for intro and outro music original composition: https://www.davehiltebrand.com/   Gina McLaughlin Photography for photo and graphic design: https://www.facebook.com/ginamclaughlinphotography/?fref=tag

“A lot of the work that I'm doing now is because of what happened in the backseat of that car... I would be lying if I said that that is resolved... I am recognizing that I still have a freeze response… It's taken me nine years of resisting that there was still work to be done from that - because I didn't want to investigate it… I lived with a very, very deep sense of shame until the last few years… The event plus the shame created this shut-down - a lack of circulation, a lack of life, a lack of movement in the middle part of my body… And even though I couldn't articulate it, I [began] moving toward something that was regulating my nervous system and making me feel better... So I think it's this really beautiful dance between the top-down information that I've learned and the bottom-up primal work that I've been doing. It's helping me put myself back together.” In this episode, Molly interviews Lauren Dollie Duke about her new memoir, Sh!thouse, which is the story of her own brutal girlhood and her ongoing journey of untangling herself from intergenerational trauma. In this rich conversation, she and Molly explore themes including: Complex/relational trauma and its relationship to sexual trauma The importance of both top-down (cognitive) and bottom-up (somatic/body-based) approaches in healing The idea of “story follows state” and “fake it ‘til you make it” The nervous system, polyvagal theory, and trauma (look for Stephen Porges's work if you'd like to learn more) The paralyzing potential of sexual trauma and shame and how that might relate to digestive issues, shallow breathing, and an overall lack of pelvic sensation/connection Yoga and breathwork techniques as tools to bring our whole bodies back online Teacher as student and healing as a lifelong journey   Lauren Dollie Duke is a writer, educator, healer, entrepreneur, community activist, and thought leader. She has taught thousands of yoga students over the last 15 years, led dozens of retreats and trainings, and continues to push the edges between yoga, mental health, and trauma. In a sea of corporate yoga, where most independent studios don't survive, Lauren Duke founded a one-of-a-kind Community-Care/Yoga studio in Encinitas, California, creating a thriving community where she teaches and hosts a variety of beloved yoga classes, educational seminars, and writing workshops.   -------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE to the show to be the first to hear about new episodes!   Contact Lauren: lauren@gatherencinitas.com Get her book: theunapologeticvoicehouse.com/lauren-duke/ (also available on Amazon) IG (personal): @dollieduke83 IG (book): @shithousebook FB: Surviving, Healing, and Evolving   Contact Molly: www.theembodyconnection.com // molly@theembodyconnection.com   -------------------------------------------- Special thanks to:   Jenn Baykan, virtual assistant for creatives: https://www.jbaykan.com/   Dave Hiltebrand for intro and outro music original composition: https://www.davehiltebrand.com/   Gina McLaughlin Photography for photo and graphic design: https://www.facebook.com/ginamclaughlinphotography/?fref=tag

“Secrets keep you sick. Secrets keep you ashamed.” Lauren Duke is a writer, educator, entrepreneur, community activist, and all-around amazing human. Her recently published memoir, “Sh!thouse,” details her painful upbringing by parental figures. Grownups who were carrying their own traumas, exposing her to their addictions, criminal activities, and neglect. Lauren was able to recognize early on that her life looked much different than the lives of her friends, yet there was still some comfort in the familiar of the unknown…never able to anticipate what would come next. As with many who have lived experiences with trauma, Lauren disconnected in order to survive. In adulthood, she realized that she would have to do the hard work of unraveling her past in order to heal and grow. Part of that process included becoming bold to write this book in a raw and real manner. We discuss elements of her childhood but spend the majority of this conversation on recognizing the humanity and fallibility of our parents and how to face the truth of our ancestral wounds. As Lauren says, “When we are angry, when we don't forgive, when we hold resentment, we create our own prison. Everyone needs to set themselves free.” Pick up your copy of “Sh!thouse” wherever books are sold. Check your local indie stores first! View the full video on YouTube. Speaking about observing patterns, accepting existing reality, how to feel safe in your body, and why some people can't seem to meditate and the relation healing has to recovery. Enjoy! Opening Up with Energy Work Before her interview with me, we had a session together to experience energy healing. In Tamar and I worked on her energy in a session prior to this interview, Tamar discovered how to open up using energy work. She also experienced a shift in her energy between our first and second sessions. Why it's important to listen to your body, how to protect yourself before going out to a family gathering, why you may repeatedly attract the same type of person into your life, and learning how to favor yourself and your own energies.   How My Energy Medicine can Affect a Diverse Range of Healing Outcomes   I channel my intuitive energy to sense and show people where they carry energy blocks in their bodies and discover how the blocks became a part of them in their past. I lead and guide my clients to show them where they are hampering themselves and are hampered by others.     Other people's impressions of us through the years and our impressions of ourselves can have a confining take on certain aspects when you are relating to the world around you. Trauma that happens to you at any point in your life is trauma that your body has to contend with until you release it. I assist clients in releasing traumatic energies and freeing them of the heavy, negative energy associated with past traumatic incidents.   Holding Grief and Trauma in Your Body   Grief and trauma combined can get stuck. One can become the placeholder for the other, then they are stuck together in a negative energy loop inside your body. Unless they are interacted with on a conscious awareness level, they can be stuck indefinitely. Using new technologies in energy healing, there is the possibility of releasing them and reducing their harmful effects.   When you look at your trauma insightfully, you may see a root cause that can be decades old. Talking about a present condition is the aftermath of the issue. When I work with clients, we get to the root cause and work together to release the negative originating contractions.   How Denial Shows Up in Our Lives   Denial is going to keep your trauma at bay and keep it apart from the healing aspects. As long as denial is placating you, you'll be stuck in the same rut. Hoping things will be different is not changing your situation or the effect trauma has on your body. Ignoring the reality of not seeing the reason behind denial will keep your trauma locked in place. Joy or Judgement- Your Choice

Intuitive Energy Podcast

Why joy and judgment can not coexist, how to re-orient yourself to joy, why judgment is draining, and the important word choice can have on your mindset.   Joy and Judgement Don't Exist in the Same Moment   People tend to compare themselves to others in many different constructs of our world. When judgment becomes involved in the thought process, the joy is removed because they can't coexist.   Similarly, when we expect others, who are “less” than we are to look “up” to us, that creates a strain on our society. This thought paradigm strains our society because we judge individually. Whether you judge yourself or judge yourself through the eyes of others, the knife cuts both ways.   Different Types of Energy   Defending yourself against something means that it exists. If you take a moment to reflect and ask yourself, “Am I judging myself, or am I judging myself through other's eyes at this moment?” Consider for yourself if these people are really better than you are. “Am I bad because I'm not perfect?” No, because perfection doesn't exist.   Judgment is a never-ending ladder - every rung leads to another rung of judgment. Joy is like a swimming pool. You can fall into it and feel that it's enjoyable.   Re-focusing Your Internal Compass from Judgement to Joy   Joy is possible. To achieve joy, you have to sit down and decide where you allow your psyche to judge yourself. When you look at it right in the eye, it takes power away from where the judgment is coming from. However, you must sit with it and acknowledge that you gave someone your power when you took their judgment upon yourself. That makes you feel less of yourself.   The feeling of “less than” can be placed on auto-pilot. Once you go out into the world, this sense of not feeling adequate can dig deeper and deeper until it becomes a daily practice or automatic to the point of not realizing that you are behaving in this fashion. Acknowledging the pattern is a great first step to releasing yourself from its grip.    Links and Resources  Book a session with Scott Clover today Listen in to Intuitive Energy Podcast  Connect with Scott on LinkedIn Read about Scott's work in the Wall Street Journal   Journey with Scott Clover on Social Media YouTube   Facebook   Instagram   Pinterest   On the Web   Spread the word of intuitive healing and share this episode with a friend! ***Disclaimer:This Podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and solely as a self-help tool for your own use. Find out about accepting yourself by being free from judgment, why finding your tribe is important, the power and importance of our gender energies, and the benefits of creating boundaries for your protection.   Accessing and expressing with intuition.    People are now saying old paradigms and polarities are not serving me. My energy is different than the energy I was told to have as a child.'   More people express themselves while using intuition and saying that they access information differently than may have been taught to them growing up. I also see more people accepting their own gender balance. The masculine and feminine energies are becoming more toggled for people, weakening the social constraints of the past several hundred years that have kept us polarized as male or female.   Self-Expression and the judgement of others    A core question to ask yourself, “How do I feel when I express my inner self?”. That may not correspond to the societal gender norms. There are so many shades of grey when it comes to gender in society today. It's not about changing your body, it's about expressing the body you're in, and this shift is becoming more commonplace today.   People want to self-express, but they are afraid of others judging them in their own form of self-expression. People are very fed up with living under the guise of someone else's impression—judgment versus self-expression.   If you let them judge you and you let their judgment change how you self-express, then you've given your power away. This creates victimization. Switching to a state of self-esteem is where you'll find healing, the root of self-confidence, and owning your own energy. ***Disclaimer: This Podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and solely as a self-help tool for your own use. When you are more comfortable in your own body, your intuition works better, your body works better, and you can reside where you live.   With intuitive development, much of the focus is on moving up - perceiving and understanding more. However, if you are not balanced and grounded in your own body, you may not be metabolizing and understanding your insights.   What I do as an Intuitive Energy Healer   Part of what I do is helping in expanding people's intuition and, at the same time, understand that they also need to ground inside their bodies as this is more effective for my client's understanding of themselves going forward.   It is best when people understand that their individuality is important. How they interact and interpret, the world is important. From this point, this perspective can create a different way of looking at themselves, society, and general structures.   When one can sense or perceive energy moving in patterns and find ways to interpret these patterns, one can understand what is happening inside and how outside environments play a role in decisions, health, and introspection. ***Disclaimer: This Podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and solely as a self-help tool for your own use. I talk about my experiences growing up with intuitive abilities, the ripple effect of being authentic, and the importance of embodiment. Find out how Scott learned he was an energy healer, the significant social implications of his discovery, and his challenges to accept his intuition and role as an energy healer. What is Intuitive Healing? I am an intuitive energy healer, which means that I have an ability to see and sense energy patterns in and around people's bodies, in their auric fields, ancestral patterns, in their past-life patterns. I can sense these patterns in and around their bodies and timelines that help guide me to show and explain to my clients where they have energy blocks, why the energy blocks happened, and help my clients recognize and remove their own energy blocks. The Acceptance of My Intuitive Healing Ability  I dealt with the acceptance of my abilities after deciding I couldn't deny it any longer. I spent the next several years accepting my intuition, listening, and learning from others who had similar abilities to mine. I wanted to make sure that receiving the energy was appropriate to explain to other people. While on this journey, I realized my abilities catered to healing. Much of my understanding of intuition gives others an understanding of how they can feel better in their bodies and heal what holds them back.
