Youtube Amazon Baileygreymusic.comBioBailey Grey Emerges “Out From Under” with Jazzy, Honest, and Joyously Complex Debut“Out From Under,” the debut single from Love It All  Bailey Grey's first full-length album showcases the arrival of a fearless new voice in pop music. Fusing jazz, blues, and danceable pop with lyrical honesty and emotional intelligence, the track is a vibrant introduction to Bailey's musical world. With her warm, expressive vocals and genre-bending musicality, Grey creates a sound that's both refreshingly personal and artistically rich. What makes the song even more striking is the story behind it. Bailey wrote “Out From Under” while working nights as a host in an underground London bar disguised as a sex shop. “‘It said ‘Girls! Girls! Girls!' on the front,” she laughs, “but it was just a dive bar and restaurant. I was getting home at 3 or 4 in the morning, waking up late, and going back to work a few hours later. I felt low, burnt out, and stuck  but still trying to make time to create music and figure out my life.” The result: a song born of exhaustion, longing, and hope, shaped into a beautifully produced, timeless groove.Built on a rhythmic ticking motif that mirrors the pressure of time, “Out From Under” cleverly underscores its themes without being overbearing. Bailey's rim-click percussion ticks steadily beneath shifting tempos  racing forward one moment, slowing down the next  as she sings lines like:“Can I make the time go slow? / And get out from under?”That emotional layering  blending storytelling with sound design  is a hallmark of Love It All, a collection that dances across genres while remaining deeply introspective. Bailey draws inspiration from iconic female artists like Amy Winehouse, Sara Bareilles, Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell, and Dodie, while forging a voice unmistakably her own.“I get bored when I make the same kind of music,” Bailey explains. “So I zhuzh it up I blend genres, follow new sounds. I want the album to reflect all the spaces I've been creatively. Every song is a new lens.”A Journey From Stage to StudioOriginally from northern New Jersey, Bailey's artistic roots run deep. She began her career as a child actor in New York's musical theater scene, starring in the Broadway National Tour of Mary Poppins at age 10. Her credits include Stephen Schwartz's opera Séance on a Wet Afternoon and A Christmas Rose at Carnegie Hall alongside Jane Seymour. After high school, she studied musical theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and earned a master's degree from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. It was during the pandemic that Bailey began writing her own music in earnest. “Theater will always be a part of me,” she says, “but I needed to start telling my own stories.”Her songs aren't just lyrical  they're sensory. Bailey writes from the rhythms and sounds of her surroundings. “I live in a soundscape,” she says. “There's a rhythm in everything a bus passing by, birds outside the window, cars rushing past  and I try to build those moments into the music.”On Love It All, that soundscape comes to life:“When I Fall” features a bass ukulele and soprano uke.“Easy,” the closing track, was recorded near an open London window you can hear the distant hum of buses and passing voices. The title track, “Love It All,” is a meditation on finding wonder amid struggle: “I fall in love with every song that I hear / Polyrhythmic harmonies reflect my atmosphere.”She adores that lyric for two reasons: “I've never heard anyone use ‘polyrhythm' in a lyric,” she notes. “And it's not just clever  it's how I actually experience the world.”Independent, Unfiltered, and AuthenticAfter returning to the U.S., Bailey made the bold decision to part ways with her label and release Love It Alll independently. “I was a child actor, and for years I had to fit into a box  play characters in other people's stories. Now, I finally get to share mine.”With “Out From Under,” Bailey Grey arrives not just as a singer-songwriter, but as a fully realized artist  one who transforms the ache of burnout and the hum of everyday life into vibrant, resonant music. This is music that grooves, heals, and surprises  a debut that marks the beginning of an exciting, genre-defying journey.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

About The After Party of the Empty NestThe empty nest can be one of the toughest parts of parenting. It's a holy, hard giving-back, a sacred release of our children into God's care and their next chapter. But you, too, have a new chapter, and you can find peace as you transition from mom to empty nest mom and rediscover that mom is not your only name.Have you asked yourself:• Who am I now?• What is my purpose now that my children are gone?• What gifts and talents do I have to offer?• What should my priorities be?• How do I become something more than “Mom?”You're not alone, mama. Among the tears and apprehension of this brand-new season or the joy and celebration that you finally have your house back, you can find a new purpose as one mothering era ends and another begins. You'll discover your life is more than carpooling, laundry, and cries of “Where are my shoes?” And you'll find freedom to act on the dreams you deferred while handling the responsibilities of raising your children. There is a second act, a future with your name on it, different from your children's but filled with hope and surprises you cannot begin to imagine…if you plan for it, believe in it, and, with the Lord's help, walk fearlessly into it.You are cordially invited to the After Party…because Mom is not your only name.Purchase a copy of The After Party of the Empty Nest here.Connect with Kate Battistelliwebsite | Facebook | Instagram | XKate Battistelli is the author of The After Party of the Empty Nest: Mom is Not Your Only Name, the bestseller, The God Dare: Will You Choose to Believe the Impossible, and Growing Great Kids: Partner with God to Cultivate His Purpose in Your Child's Life. In today's episode, I am chatting with my friend, Kate Battistelli, author of The After Party of the Empty Nest. Kate shares her inspiring journey of faith, obedience, and the unexpected joys that come in the later seasons of life. With a background in Broadway and a career in the arts, Kate's life was turned upside down when God called her to lay down her dreams and step into a new season of family and ministry. After navigating personal challenges, including having an abortion at 18 and an unexpected season of infertility, Kate found a renewed sense of purpose. Now, in her book, The After Party of the Empty Nest, Kate helps guide women through the emotional journey of the empty nest and what it means to rediscover purpose in this next season.Key Takeaways: 1. Obedience Over Comfort – Kate shares her journey of surrendering her career in the arts to pursue a calling from God. When you listen for His voice and obey, God honors that obedience, leading you into new seasons of blessing and purpose. 2. Embrace the Empty Nest – The empty nest doesn't have to feel like the end of your purpose. Instead, it can be the beginning of a new chapter, filled with opportunities for growth, travel, hobbies, and connection. 3. The Power of Gratitude – Whether you're facing infertility, anxiety, or relationship struggles, learning to be grateful in the midst of hardship allows you to see God's purpose and blessings, even in the toughest moments.Kate's story is a powerful reminder that even in the most unexpected seasons of life, God's plan for us is full of purpose and promise. She demonstrates how God can take our most difficult moments and turn them into a foundation for new beginnings. Her story encourages us to listen for God's voice, trust in His timing, and step into the fullness of what He has for us in every season. If you're in a transition or looking for guidance in your next chapter, Kate's message is a beacon of hope and inspiration. Remember, the best is yet to come.Bio:Kate Battistelli is the author of The After Party of the Empty Nest: Mom is Not Your Only Name, the bestseller, The God Dare: Will You Choose to Believe the Impossible, and Growing Great Kids: Partner with God to Cultivate His Purpose in Your Child's Life. From auditioning for Broadway roles to creating a personal training business to manifesting her dream partner, Jen shares the ups and downs that eventually led her to where she is today. Before co-founding Super Connector Media, Jen Gottlieb was pursuing her dreams of becoming an actress in New York City. Her dedication led to landing a role in the Broadway National Tour of The Wedding Singer. But that was just the start of Jen's acting career. She went on to score a role on the hit VH1 TV series That Metal Show as "Miss Box of Junk", aka "The Vanna White of Rock and Roll". The only problem? Jen wasn't actually a fan of heavy metal music. After the show's cancellation and a breakup all in one week, Jen turned hardship into growth. She realized sometimes difficult times happen so transformation can too. Jen created the fulfillment, alignment, visibility and impact she dreamed of by fully stepping into the spotlight and letting the world see the real her.  Jen currently is promoting her new book: BE SEEN. Her book is the ultimate roadmap that will show you how to live out the life that you know you were meant to live. Jen manifested huge milestones like booking her dream role and meeting her husband by not just visualizing what she wanted but also taking steps to make it happen. Manifesting requires putting yourself in the right situations and opportunities. How to turn rejection into fuel. Jen has faced rejection throughout her life, from losing out on acting roles to having book proposals turned down by publishers. But she used those rejections as motivation to keep taking action and work harder. Rejection is part of success. The importance of being yourself. Jen got cast on a TV show by showcasing her true personality, not the persona she thought they wanted. She lost herself playing a character on TV for years. Your authentic self will connect best with your audience. The reason behind never giving up. No matter how many setbacks Jen faced, she persisted in pursuing her goals. She knew what she wanted even as a child and never let anything stop her from achieving it. If you stay committed, you can create the life you envision. The truth about finding purpose. Jen thought her purpose was acting, but it evolved into motivational speaking which feels more aligned. Sometimes your purpose is not what you expect. Stay open and it will reveal itself. This conversation is perfect for any aspiring entrepreneur or creator. Be sure to listen to the full episode and feel inspired by Jen's story! From playing iconic people to trying different artistic endeavors, Chilina Kennedy is just getting started. Growing up in different parts of the world, she discusses her early experiences and influences that ultimately led her to grace the Broadway stage. From portraying iconic people like Carole King to releasing her own album called “What You Find in a Bottle”, she talks about how she splits her focus between joining other people's works and creating her own, and why she finds it way harder to play a real person on stage. She also gets real when asked if she ever gets tired of playing the same role over and over, and why she loves it when people don't recognize her from the previous roles she played. Putting your work out there can be nerve-wracking, but for Chilina, it's the point of being creative: to be confident and bold and not be afraid to make mistakes. She explains why auditions are a bit like dating, the complexities of casting, and how perseverance can create luck!  Chilina Kennedy is an actress, singer, and songwriter known for playing Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut in 2012 in “Jesus Christ Superstar”, and originated the Tony Award-winning role of Dina in the first Broadway National Tour of “The Band's Visit”. She was most recently seen on Broadway in “Paradise Square”, and was part of the originating cast of the first National Tour of “Mamma Mia”. She has her own full-length album called “What You Find in a Bottle”, and has co-written a new musical called “Call It Love”. Episode Summary: In this episode, we’re talking about what it looks like to jump out of our comfort zone, have faith and dare with God. My guest today, is Kate Battistelli, mother of DOVE and GRAMMY award-winning Christian recording artist Francesca Battistelli, and author of The God Dare. Quotables from the episode: A “God Dare” is always too big for us—we can’t do it on our own without God’s help. The impossible is God’s zone. A “God Dare” often makes no earthly sense. It’s only after the fact that we can look back and see the dots connected. God will equip you for whatever He calls you to. Scripture References: Hebrews 11:1 “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Genesis 15:5-6 “Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, ‘Look up into the sky and count the starts if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!’ And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.” Recommended Resources: The God Dare by Kate Battistelli Growing Great Kids by Kate Battistelli Free Download: How To Fight Fearful/Anxious Thoughts and Win Breaking Anxiety’s Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety’s Grip Free Study Guide Free 7-Day YouVersion Bible Reading Plan for Breaking Anxiety’s Grip Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor’s Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader’s Choice Award Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader’s Choice Award Social Media Links for Host and Guest: Connect with Kate Battistelli: Instagram / Facebook / Twitter / LinkedIn / Pinterest / Website For more hope, stay connected with Dr. Bengtson at: Order Book Breaking Anxiety’s Grip / Order Book Hope Prevails  /  Website  /  Blog  /  Facebook / Twitter (@DrMBengtson)  /  LinkedIn  /  Instagram / Pinterest / YouTube / Podcast About Kate Battistelli: Kate Battistelli is living proof God can and will use anyone if they’re willing. Kate experienced infertility, miscarriage, an abortion at age 18, and four failed adoption attempts, which all wreaked havoc in her life. Back in the ‘80’s, Kate had a life-changing experience as a young actress in New York City, going from understudy to starring as Anna in the Broadway National Tour of The King and I opposite Yul Brynner for more than 1,000 performances. Kate and her husband laid down their careers and the Broadway theatre in answer to their first “God dare” and moved out of New York City and into a life of homeschooling and a home business. As their daughter Francesca grew and began expressing her gifts in music and songwriting, they realized there was a far bigger purpose in leaving their careers than they could’ve imagined. A singer, actress, dancer and bassist, Emma is pretty amazing and her talent shines in everything she does.  She began dance lessons at just 3 years old with singing and acting lessons soon after. Emma’s early training prepared her for theatre opportunities. Emma’s first show was at Brooklyn’s award-winning Gallery Players Theater where she played the role of ‘Baby Louise’ in the musical ‘Gypsy’ – launching their 50th anniversary. Soon after, Emma Grace returned to the Gallery Players Theater to play the role of the ‘Little Girl’ in ‘RAGTIME – In pursuit of the American Dream’ and in 2017 was cast in the lead role of the musical ‘Annie.’ Emma also starred in the title role in Spotlight Repertory Theatre’s production of ‘Matilda’ in 2019. Emma went on to play Susan Waverly in two consecutive seasons of the Broadway National Tour of Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas’ which was a dream come true for Emma. She has also booked regional commercials. Emma recently participated in ‘Christmas with Arwen’ performing with a few of the brightest young stars of Broadway's biggest stage musicals singing Christmas contemporary classics virtually raising awareness for youth-oriented organizations ‘No Kids Hungry’ and ‘Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child.’ These two nationally-recognized 501(c)(3) charity organizations were carefully chosen by the stars' parents for their commitment to helping children at the community-level, through locally-delivered meals, toys and gifts. Now 12, Emma continues to hone her craft as an actress and musician. Emma is quite the bassist. As their daughter Francesca grew and began expressing her gifts in music and songwriting, they realized there was a far bigger purpose in leaving their careers than they could’ve imagined. Kate is the mother of DOVE and GRAMMY award-winning Christian recording artist Francesca Battistelli.  She’s also one-third of the popular Mom to Mom Podcast. Kate is a natural encourager and believes in your ability to change the world. We're talking about: God often dares us to do something big, but we have to say yes. “Choose to be chosen to change the world.” It’s important that we listen to what’s God plan is for us and for our children. Don’t be afraid to dream big for your children. As in Titus 2, older women should be mentoring younger women. “It’s the small deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay.” Don’t forget to text the phrase “RealTalkGiveaway” to the number 44222 to be entered to win giveaways from show guests and sponsors! "It’s my goal to change the world’s mentality about what they're programmed to think is beautiful. "A few years ago, I met with a ‘big wig’ in the music industry who said I had to lose 90 pounds, get a space between my legs, and change my hair and my clothes. He told me the way I looked wasn’t accepted in the 'pop music industry’ and it was going to be too hard for me. "Last I heard he's moved into graphic design and I’m still here releasing this video... Isn’t that funny?!" FACEBOOK And it wasn't an isolated incident – others said similar things to Kay and maybe now they’re learning how misguided they were. Following this year’s release of her debut full-length album, 11 O’Clock Number, its first single "Weight On My Shoulders" won the Canadian Songwriters Award for Best Adult Contemporary/Pop Song. INSTAGRAM It may be her debut solo album, but Kay is no stranger to the scene; in addition to high praise from judges Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Spice Girl Mel B as an advanced contestant on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent, the Cambridge, Ontario-born artist has also performed with Stevie Wonder’s band at a David Foster concert, k.d. lang at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, The Tenors at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Cee Lo Green. She was a member of the award-winning a cappella group, Eh440, and starred in the Broadway National Tour of Godspell. Stacey's unique and powerful voice paired with a machine-gun rapping style has garnered her online videos millions of views, including one particular viral sensation — over 40 million views when she spontaneously performed one of Busta Rhymes' fastest raps in the aisle at a Walgreens in South Carolina. TWITTER The video was shared instantly, and Chris Brown wrote an article about her talents on his website. Kay's covers of hit songs have garnered the respect and recognition from the original artists including Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Hudson, and Mystikal, who have shared her videos on social media. Recently, Stacey Kay was excited to learn that one of her influences, Fergie, featured her in a Glamour Magazine video. The video shows Fergie watching a Stacey Kay cover of her song You Already Know while raving about Kay's vocal ability and charisma. SPOTIFY “I’ve never been a fan of the saying ‘it’s what’s on the inside that counts’ because then that implies that the outside may not look good. I’ve always thought that so many people of all different shapes and sizes are hot. So why do I think that I have to look different for people to think I’m attractive? "Just because most people who are famous have a similar look, it doesn’t mean it has to continue being like that," Kay says. "It’s 2018 and humans have made a lot of positive changes, so why not make a change about what we’ve been brainwashed to think is beautiful. "I’m not here to try and make you cry or feel bad for me," Kay says. "Finding your confidence can be a really fun and exciting thing and it can be both powerful and lighthearted at the same time. That’s why I made this video." "New Type" and 11 O’Clock Number are available now. Watch the V --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/carlas-coffee-house/support

Most of the people I've interviewed for this podcast are in thick of parenting, but Kate Battistelli is on the other side of it. Her grown daughter loves God and has a beautiful family of her own. Kate is the mother of (my daughter's favorite singer) Francesca Battistelli. You'll love her encouragement and insight no matter where you are in your parenting journey. Grab your headphones, join us for a chat and keep reading to learn more! Kate was an actress and singer in the New York Broadway musical theatre world. She toured for 2 1/2 years in the Broadway National Tour of The King and I playing Anna opposite Yul Brynner as the King, where she met her amazing husband. Kate is the author of Growing Great Kids: Partner With God to Cultivate His Purpose in Your Child's Life and she's writing her second book entitled The God Dare. A contributing writer for 3 amazing mothering sites, MothersofDaughters.com, thebettermom.com, and RaisingGenerationsToday.com, she also contributes to the Titus 2 team at TheMobSociety.com. She's a New Jersey girl currently living in Atlanta writing about God, food, family and hospitality. Her passion is to remind you there's a big God Dare with your name on it! Get Inspired Tip #1: God Is Economical God never wastes anything - all the things that He asked us to lay down, He picked back up in our daughter's life and take it to where it was really going to make a difference. Tweet to Inspire: "God never wastes anything" - @katebattistelli on @Inspired2Action --> http://wp.me/pnAs1-4f1 Tip #2: God is Enough God had to bring us to the place where He was enough, where nothing else can satisfy. No matter what our circumstances are, God is still God. When something comes into our lives that's not what we expect, we can look back and see God's history of faithfulness. God's not always going to deliver you from trouble, but He'll deliver you through it. Tweet to Inspire: "God taught me to want Him for who He is, not for what He gives me. " - @katebattistelli on @Inspired2Action --> http://wp.me/pnAs1-4f1 Tip #3: Dig Deep As we dig deep with God, He'll show us the gifts and talents He's given our children so we can be intentional about exposing our children to opportunities to develop those gifts. Don't be afraid to dream big for yourself or your kids. God has a plan for you and He says you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
