¡vamos a divertirnos!

In a step away from our usual format, Chris and Marty talk about motorsport TV, including what drives them mad about IndyCar coverage, why Monaco was the best Formula E race to date, and why Marty worries about whether Anthony Davidson can pay his mortgage. But first, we discuss the great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmwIdGUb3qY&list=PLrvMJaD0-PudGn8aBP-P_zWSX4m1fKd1K (Car Trek Season 4) and Hagerty reports a screen used, Paul Walker-driven orange Toyota Supra from the first two Fast and the Furious films is https://www.hagerty.com/media/entertainment/go-with-the-gallo-24-and-bid-on-a-fast-furious-supra-driven-by-paul-walker/ (going under the hammer). For their YouTube picks, Marty went with Alex Brundle's excellent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5QdEoVduqA (Good Lap vs Great Lap - Lewis Hamilton at Monaco 2019), and then https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHyrz_iFQGc-nntb4-F5_yw (Romain Grosjean's official channel), which includes his similarly excellent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdRriIJXeNU (track guide to Monaco). Chris combined the love of build channels and racing channels by highlighting Team Prawn Racing, with Nick Vaughn who both builds and races his Audi A3. This year has seen a big push by Praga to highlight their R1 race car, and Jimmy Broadbent has been taking his viewers with him into the cockpit. Fresh Brewed & Air Cooled: Deep Tracks with Cam Ingram and Ray Shaffer
With the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus came widespread cancellation and postponement of automotive events and gatherings throughout the world, along with the recommendation to keep distance between one another. It's a challenging time for many indeed, and staying in touch with one another is paramount to maintaining one's sanity. Luckily, technology allows the opportunity to connect individuals throughout the world in an instant. Social media is a particularly useful outlet for, as you may have guessed, staying social. About three weeks ago, Cam invited longtime friend and colleague Ray Shaffer from Porsche Classic for a virtual get together via Instagram live to talk all things Porsche over a fresh cup of coffee while giving friends and followers the chance to listen in and interact. It was dubbed “Fresh Brewed and Air Cooled”, with Cam broadcasting from the Road Scholars showroom and Ray in his home office. The first episode of the livestream was well received, leading to a second and third episode. In the second episode, the topic of the GT1 era in motorsport came up, with Ray sharing a few photos and his scale models of the Le Mans winning 911 GT1-98. It wasn't long before Stéphane Ortelli chimed in, and accepted an invitation to join the two in an interview. In a racing career spanning more than 25 years, Stéphane's passion and talent for racing has led to a long list of accomplishments. He has been successfully racing GT and Prototype cars since 1996, and has participated in 58 Porsche Supercup races, 29 of those resulting in a podium finish- more than any other driver in the series. At age 28, he earned the prestigious title of being one of 135 Le Mans winning drivers by winning the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans with Allan McNish and Laurent Aïello behind the wheel of the #26 GT1-98. He's claimed victories at the 24 Hours of Spa in the GT2 class three years in a row between 2002 and 2004, along with podium finishes at the 24 hours of Daytona, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in the World GT2 Championship- all while piloting a Porsche. To this day, Stéphane is still highly involved in the world of motorsports as a Works/Test driver with 12 manufacturers and works as a coach to fellow racers. 1998 proved to be a noteworthy year for the team at Porsche- It was the company's 50th anniversary, and also the year of Ferry Porsche's passing. It was the first time a Porsche race car would do away with the steel chassis in favor of a carbon tub incorporated in the GT1-98. Despite being strapped for funds, Porsche allocated a significant amount of resources to fund development of an all-new GT1 race car engineered by Norbert Singer, and designed by Tony Hatter under the direction of Harm Lagaay. The 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans was win number sixteen for Norbert Singer, and would ultimately be the last time a Road Car would take the win at Le Mans. Since then, only Prototype vehicles would do the same. In this interview Stéphane graciously shares his personal experiences, insights and stories about his time racing with Porsche during one of the most exciting classes in history.

Streaming News Twitch streamers outraged over new unban request feature From rude messages in chat to pesky spam, bans are there as a safety measure to counter it all. Once banned, there was no way for these accounts to annoy or harass streamers moving forward. That was up until today, at least. Twitch revealed a new widget on Sep. 30 that allows mods to go through ‘unban requests.' While it could prove useful for the odd occasion where an account is wrongfully banned, the announcement mainly went down like a ton of bricks. “Channel banned users can submit an appeal through the Chat column,” the Twitch Support post explained. Through this appeal, moderators can then “review and take action.” This gives pesky accounts a second chance at doing the right thing, but it also sets the stage for even more bother. Dainty- Many are saying this will lead to further harassment by trolls. What are your thoughts on this new tool? Twitch Streamer Has Been Live For Over 1,000 Hours Straight While a lot of news regarding Twitch in 2020 is usually related to a new ban, things are changing up with a Twitch streamer getting a new record for the site. Twitch streamer GPHustla currently has the record for the longest continuous stream on the site. GPHustla's stream is currently clocked at over 1000 hours with the time still ticking up, as the stream is still ongoing as of September 28, 2020. The stream initially began as a 24-hour marathon stream, but it ended up going beyond original plans. The stream originally began back in August, making it well over a month since GPHustla's life has been out for the world to see. If GPHustla were to continue the stream up until his attempt with Guinness World Records, this original stream would clock in at well over 3000 hours. Jac - When will we see a Jacqie 24/7 stream channel? WWE reportedly taking control of all wrestler Twitch accounts We talked a few weeks ago about wwe reportedly telling talent they needed to cease any outside activity using their likeness such as personal appearances or streaming. They have now shifted course by taking direct control of their accounts and only giving performers a cut of whatever profit they bring in. Stump - How much do you think this will pay off for rival promotions as contracts finish up at wwe? Twitch's Soundtrack feature debuts today, and it will let streamers play music while they're live Today, Twitch releases Soundtrack, a new product that allows streamers to play music while they're live — or, at least, that's the simplest way to explain it. If the product works the way Twitch says it does, Soundtrack will be much more than just a way to play rights-cleared music while you're broadcasting. It might change how you think about using music on Twitch entirely. Soundtrack separates the music stream into its own channel and broadcasts it simultaneously but, crucially, separately. That integration allows Twitch to automatically strip the music from the VOD of your live stream — because songs that are cleared for live use aren't necessarily also cleared for use in recordings — and at the same time allows the site to do a lot of cool platform-side things with the music itself. (In a word: it solves the desktop audio problem.) Jac - We all speculated recently about something like this coming from twitch when we talked about Twitch sings shutting down. What do you think of this new service?Gaming News Cyberpunk 2077 developer will force six-day weeks leading up to launch Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has told employees it will require them to work six-day weeks until the game's November launch, breaking a previous promise not to force compulsory overtime to finish the project. Originally announced in 2012, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed multiple times already - most recently from April to September, and then to its current 19th November date. "These last six weeks are our final sprint on a project we've all spent much of our lives on. Something we care for deeply. The majority of the team understands that push, especially in light of the fact that we've just sent the game to cert and every day brings us visibly closer to shipping a game we want to be proud of. "This is one of the hardest decisions I've had to make, but everyone is well compensated for every extra hour they put in. And, like in recent years, 10 percent of the annual profit our company generates in 2020 will be split directly among the team." Dainty - They have been working on this much anticipated game a long time. How do you feel about the broken promise here with the compulsory OT? Apex Legends crossplay beta starts with Aftermarket Collection Event Apex Legends crossplay is officially coming on October 6, as part of the new Aftermarket Collection event. The event also adds a new event, and lots of new cosmetic content and challenges. Crossplay was confirmed for a Fall launch earlier in 2020, but this first rollout is technically just a beta, as Respawn tests all the features. Cross-progression isn't available at this time, but Respawn will talk more about this during the Steam launch later this year. The beta will be used to test functionality before a full crossplay launch. Players on all platforms can play with each other, but by default, console players will only play with other console players. “The centerpiece of this mode are Flash Points, massive zones dotted around towns in Kings Canyon. Flash Points are special because they regenerate your health and shields over time to get you healed and ready for combat in a flash ( ba dum-tss ). Learn where these are quickly because healing items do not spawn in this mode – Flashpoints are crucial to helping you stay alive.” Jac - As a seasoned apex player how are you feeling about the new mode and crossplay?Entertainment News Cobra Kai Renewed For Season 4, Season 3 Release Date Set For Early 2021 The Karate Kid sequel TV show Cobra Kai is renewed for season 4 at Netflix as the streaming service sets the season 3 release date. Cobra Kai picks up more than 30 years after The Karate Kid movie, following Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) - the villain in the original film - as he reopens the Cobra Kai dojo. Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) also returns, but the script is flipped, with viewers meant to root for Johnny this time as he's the underdog to the now-successful Daniel. The Cobra Kai TV show also introduced a new generation of karate kids training at the dojo, including Johnny's mentee Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña). Cobra Kai originally launched in 2018 on YouTube Red as one of the streamer's originals, but has since migrated to Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 debuted on Netflix recently, and it was announced that Cobra Kai would return for season 3. Now it appears Netflix wants even more of Cobra Kai for the streaming service. Netflix announced Cobra Kai has been renewed for season 4, though a release window was not revealed. Further, the Cobra Kai season 3 teaser trailer was unveiled, confirming new episodes will hit Netflix on Jan. 8, 2021. Stump - Why haven't you watched this show yet?! Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Star Rick Moranis Attacked While Walking in New York City While walking in the Upper West Side neighborhood of New York City, Rick Moranis was the victim of an unprovoked attack. Footage of the assault, which took place near Central Park just after 7 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1., has been released by the NYPD, showing an unidentified male striking the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids star in the head with a closed fist and knocking him to the ground. The suspect, seen wearing an "I Love New York" sweatshirt, then fled the scene. The NYPD confirmed they are currently looking for him. Captain american said Chris Evans tweeted that his "blood is boiling." "Find this man," he urged on Friday, Oct. 2. "You don't touch Rick Moranis." Dainty - How dare they touch the king of the nerds! This seems like the knockout game or just some unruly youth. What do you make of it? Robert Zemeckis' The Witches: First Trailer and Images Released [Updated] The release date for the reimagined version of Roald Dahl's The Witches has been revealed alongside a colourful new poster, and it will arrive on HBO Max on October 22. Warner Bros. has announced that Robert Zemeckis' remake will be flying into homes just in time for Halloween, as the movie is set to premiere exclusively in the U.S. on HBO Max on October 22. Feast your eyes on the first official poster for the remake up there As the Grand High Witch, Anne Hathaway is commanding attention on the red carpet at the centre of the one-sheet, with the secret society of witches (disguised as humans) looking on. Stanley Tucci also appears on the poster, as the hotel manager who unwittingly hosts the witches' convention, alongside Octavia Spencer, the tough but loving grandmother who will try to put a stop to the witches' evil plans. Jac - I dunno if you ever saw the original version of this movie but it was a favorite of mine as a kid. What is your go to scary movie or halloween type movie or show to watch in October?
